Hey Yo! NerdRyuu here and welcome to the 12th chapter of The Last Loud!
Last Chapter The Last Loud and Cassie killed the pufferbear beast!
Let's go to the question I received!
Dimitri Gomez: Do you plan to do sketches of the mutant beasts in the future?
I really like drawing, and would like to do some drawings of the creatures, along with some of the characters of the series and even other stories I made, like the stands from my JoJo and TLH crossover, the the thing is, I'm not very good at drawing, well, not excellent like other people who makes TLH fanarts. And also, I don't have anywhere to post them if I did. I thought in creating a twitter to post updates and some drawings I do, but I'm not confident enough to do it.
Said everything, let's get to the chapter!
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own The Loud House.
Lincoln and I have been going outside pretty much daily for the past days. Each day, we adventured ourselves on the ruins of our old home town. We went to the remains of Royal Woods Arena, the baseball field I used to play on, the shopping, and the residences of some of our old friends…
It was harsh to say the least. We found the remains of the McBrides one day, and Lincoln broke down harder than when we saw the remains of our parents. The remains of Sam, Stella, Zack, Liam, Rusty…
With each time we found another remain, Lincoln became more and more apathetic. I'm not a psychologist, but I can tell when my brother isn't good.
Even back at the bunker, his demeanor just didn't changed, not even when Luna was around. He stopped talking much, when he talked, he was short and to the point, I just couldn't see the same shine on his eyes anymore.
Seeing him like that broke my heart. I don't know what to do, the others also noticed this change of his, and it's just a matter of time for things to go south. I have to think something to do… wait…
I don't know if it's a good idea… Probably not… I shouldn't do it… but Luna did.
If she can't help him… I'll help.
NO! That's the worst Idea in the world! I can help him without doing that. I just need to be more smart… wait, I have a idea.
"Why are we bringing this thing?" Maria asked as she used a rope to tie the Pufferbear's corpse to a makeshift sledge, connected to the bike. The Last Loud was helping her.
"We need to tie this faster. A pufferbear doesn't walk alone. Probably the mate and cubs are close." The Loud Spoke.
"Wait, there's more of them near?" Maria said with a tiny bit of fear in her voice.
"Don't worry mom, if we encounter another, me and Loud will kill it!" Cassie said mimicking the cocking of a shotgun and shooting.
"We don't want to risk another fight with one of that things." The Last Loud said. Maria nodded.
"You still didn't said why we're bringing this thing." Maria said.
"We'll have meat for weeks." The Last Loud started. "And we can use the pelt to make coats for you two."
"Seriously? Coats for us? Awesome!" Cassie said. The Loud finished tying the dead mutant and gave it a tap to assure if it was safe.
"Let's go." The Loud said finally, mounting on the bike, as Cassie sat on their lap and Maria sat on the backseat. With that, they set off voyage, with the sledge behind them.
"So, you want me to sew the coats?" Maria said, a little louder than before to make sure the Loud could hear while driving.
"Don't need to. I can skin it and sew the coats." The Loud said.
"You can sew?" Cassie asked surprised.
"Yeah. Surprised?" The Loud responded, without taking their eyes of the road.
"You… don't have the look like someone that could sew." Cassie said. The girl could swear she heard The Last Loud giggle. How curious. That person had so many things on their sleeves, She wondered who they were.
I managed to convince Lincoln into digging graves for our friends, I thought that it would make him feel better, but I think that I shot myself on the foot with that, he got even more depressed. One day, we got the skeleton of Clyde and his fathers to bury them in the graveyard we started, we got shovels from Lisa, and dug out several graves, aligned in a grid pattern. After putting the skeletons on their graves and burying them, we made a silent eulogy on their respect.
We did the same for all our and our sisters friends.
And of course, our parents also received a proper burial.
I should have told the others what we were doing, but the last thing I wanted was a earful of Lori, and seeing the objective of doing all that, and seeing the results… yeah… it's probably a bad idea just going out and saying, even more as what we were supposed to do outside was researching the radiation levels around the Royal Woods area.
Even if our parents and friends got their deserved burial, I think that it was a failure. Lincoln just got worse. I'm starting to get worried about him. I think that everyone is, his change was something that everyone could see.
I still have that other option…
I can't! It's wrong!
Luna did it…
But even her knows that it was wrong, and they're having the consequences of it.
But she still can't help him…
I love him…
I don't want him doing something to hurt himself.
Okay… Maybe just once…
The Last Loud used it's knife to cut the ropes that help the pufferbear on place. They had made a stop on a old gas station. While Maria was inside scavenging for usable goods that they could use. Cassie was sitting on the bike watching The Last Loud skin the deceased beast.
"You should look away." The Loud said to the kid.
"Nah, It isn't the first time I see someone skin a animal." The Loud looked to Cassie and returned to the beast. "My mom used to skin rabbits we hunted to eat. Before we met you."
"You really have guts kid." The Loud said, than looked at Cassie. "Wanna help me kid? I can teach you how to properly skin an animal." Cassie's eyes lit.
"You want me to help you? Cool, cool, cool! Yes, please!" She jumped of the bike and crouched by the side of the Loud, who gave her the knife.
"Here, you need to make a cut from the anus of the animal to the lower lip." The Loud instructed, and Cassie did so, without the faintest sign of repulse. "Good, now, let me help you remove the skin." The two carefully removed the skin, leaving the bear with just the flesh. "Here, scrape out the excess fat and flesh, I'll cut the meat." Cassie nodded and started doing what Loud said.
"Hey!" Maria said, coming out from the gas station store. "We're in luck! Very good luck! Mel" She said presenting what she had found inside the gas station. It was a refrigerated cooler that it wasn't in a very bad shape.
"How convenient." The Loud said with a bit of sarcasm in their voice. "I can hook up that thing to the generator on the bike. With that we'll have meat for even more time." They resumed cutting the flesh of the beast, removing the bones and putting it on the cooler, that Maria had brought closer to them
"Loud, I think I finished." Cassie called, The Loud gave their knife to Maria to her continue cutting the flesh and looked at the results of Cassie's work. It wasn't too bad, on the contrary, it was surprisingly good. The Loud nodded along they looked at the freshly cut pelt.
"Good." They said finally. "You did good." The Loud lifted their hand, offering a fist bump. Cassie jumped in place and giggled at the compliment and accept the fist bump.
"What we'll do now?" Maria asked as she cut the meat.
"We'll camp here." The Loud said looking at the horizon, the sun was setting.
N/A: This chapter is a little longer than the usual, featuring two segments on both future and past, I don't remember for sure, but I think it's the first time I did this way.
I thought on Lynn fetting the idea of convincing Lincoln in making graves and eventually a full cemetery for the deceased people of Royal Woods fitting, as she is the one sibling closest to Lucy.
Lincoln's apparent depression is also the continuation of his character arc.
I had to look up how to skin animals to make the scene where the Last Loud skins the pufferbear, and let me tell ya what, it's something that I won't look up ever again.
Next chapter will be a intense chapter for Lincoln and Lynn, so look out for next sunday!
if you want to ask something of want to day anything, feel free to comment, if you liked, consider favoriting and following the story! if liked a Very lot, consider sharing it with your friends that also loke The Loud House (but don't feel obligated to it)
