Hey Yo! NerdRyuu here for the 26th chapter of The Last Loud!
last chapter the louds got to know the village of Paradise, but this seemingly peaceful utopia was just a cult, led by Benjamin Light! and Lincoln shouted out directly at him!
I have a few news for those who don't follow me on Twitter @ryuu_baku
firstly, I finished writing the entirety of The Last Loud, but don't worry, woth my weekly posting schedule, it'll take more three or four months until I post everything.
secondly, due me finishing writing this fic, I'm continuing to write some of my other fics, specially Back From Death, and now that I have a new writing format that made me being able to post a new chapter weekly, I'll seek to apply the same format there, and of you don't know BFD, xheck it out!
thirdly, I started to plan put a NEW The Loud House fic, inspired on the game Skyrim, but I'll not be releasing it any time soon, I want to plan everything before starting to write, to flash out the world, characters, lore and not making it confusing.
I didn't received any questions this week, but I want to thank all the support I have from all of you!
let's go to the chapter!
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own The Loud House
"Such brave words." Light spoke unimpressed. "For someone as pitiful as you."
"I'm not pitiful. I'm a man trying to protect my family." Lincoln retorted.
"Your words really upsets God son." Light spoke shaking his head. "Apologize, and the God will not punish you."
"I don't care about your god." Lincoln got up in his feet, and we saw this as our queue to also get up. Light also got up.
"I don't have a god." Light spoke, with a booming voice. "I am God."
Lincoln laughed. The cultists gasped at this, seeing his laugh as signal of disrespect. "You? God? You're pitiful."
Light was trembling in rage, then, he snapped his fingers and several people popped out tents with guns pointed to us. Those men were using weird clothes… the same type of clothes… as the men who kidnapped us and killed Lucy, Lisa and Lily!
"This is what you receive." Light spoke. "For disrespecting God." Light opened his mouth again to order, but Lincoln had quickly pulled his pistol and fired at Light right in the face.
Light fell backwards as the bullet hit him right under his left eye. I turned quickly, pulling my revolver and started shooting the armed men, who also started firing at us.
The cultists started punching and kicking us also, the others started to also fight back. It became a major fight, I shot some of the cultists, used others as shield from the men shooting, and I also saw the others fighting and killing the cultists.
Lincoln had put his helmet and was crushing the cultists and breaking the men shooting, Luna also was shooting, and my twin, Lana, had robbed a rifle from a man and was gunning the others down.
I don't know what happened, I think someone shot a power generator, or something like that, but the tents went ablaze. First one single tent, then, another, and soon, we were surrounded by a fiery inferno. I got my blood pumping with adrenaline and excitement, man, that was awesome! Now I know why Lincoln used to like those shooting game, what was called? Gloom? I don't know, but this is-
My line of though stopped when I felt something hot hitting my chest. I felt the air getting out of my lungs and I looked down. Blood splurted from the bullet wound in my chest. I fell.
"Lola!" I shouted when I saw my twin being hit. I ran there as she fell. I caught her and gently lowered her to the ground. "Lola! Lola!" I repeated crying. I put my hand on the wound, trying to stop the blood. "Hold up Lola, hold up!"
"Lana…" She muttered, grabbing my shoulder.
"Lola…" I spoke back. She made a small smile and muttered.
"I love you. Sis." I sobbed as I tried to respond
"I also love you. Sis." She made a final smile, and her hand fell.
Lola. She… died. I looked in disbelief. It's… my… fault.
"Lincoln, watch out!" I heard Luna shout, I looked back and a cultist was charging at me. I jumped out of the way and shot the back of his head. I looked around. The hell around us.
It's… My fault. All. My fault.
I looked that hell, until I saw. Even the slaves started fighting the cultists. It was a very large, bald, African American man, punching the cultists left and right. They… were fighting back. Because of us?
It isn't in vain.
Lincoln.
Your life may have been hard. Your decisions may have had hard consequences. But it wasn't in vain.
Now I see.
All the things that happened to me. All that happened to us, was to get us here.
I'm sorry. Lori, Leni, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lola, Lisa, Lily. Your deaths won't be in vain!
I reached for my pocket and picked my pill bottle. I looked at it for a second, then I released it. I didn't needed anymore.
"Luna, Lana, regroup!" I called, and they both run up to me and we made cover behind the now tumbled table.
"Let's get out of here!" Lana shouted, as it was the only way we could hear each other. I shaked my head.
"No. Let's end this fucking cult for good! We need to ensure the slaves escape!" I spoke with conviction. They looked surprised and confused.
"We need to help them, Lana, Luna, we need to scout them out the village." I explained.
"But the armed men? And the rest of the cultists?" Lana asked.
"We'll kill them all." I said with a smirk. "Let-"
I got interrupted when Luna jumped, embracing me and passionately kissing me.
I was dazzled and confused when our lips parted.
"Wh-wha-wha..." I mumbled and Luna hugged me, with teary eyes.
"Welcome back Linc." She said smiling. I smiled back.
"Lana. Here, I think you need this more then I." I spoke, as got out of my armor. As a piece of Lisa's tech, it could be put on and off easily in one piece. I was using a very loud, dirty, and torn orange shirt.
"What? No way!" Lana spoke pushing away. You need the protection! I don't wa-" I put my finger on her lip to stop her.
"It's yours Lana." I spoke. Lana looked down to the armor, sighed, got her vest off and put it on.
"Let's go!" I shouted as we got out behind the table.
"ALL SLAVES, COME WITH US!" Lana shouted, running.
I heard a cry behind me. I looked and it was a kid, crying under a wooden pillar that was starting to be scorched.
I ran back and lifted the pillar and the kid crawled away. I released the pillar and grabbed the kid. It was a young boy, maybe five or six years old, with grayish curly hair with bright green eyes.
"than yu…" He bubbled, he didn't talked properly, maybe nobody bothered him to teach him. I smiled at him, reassuring his safety.
"Don't worry. Lincoln is here." I spoke, and ran up to Luna. "Luna, get this kid to safety. I'll be right behind you. I need to make sure the cultists don't follow you." Luna nodded as I handed the kid to her.
She ran and I grabbed a rifle in the ground and started shooting the men and cultists that appeared.
Then, I noticed something.
Where was the corpse of Light?
This question got answered when something hit my arm so hard that not only made me drop the rifle, but broke my arm.
I shouted I'm pain and looked the source of my attack.
It was Light. He was alive. Not only that, the bullet wound in his face didn't revealed muscles and blood, but a luminescent green goo and also glowing green fiber. That's when I noticed. His while face wasn't normal. It was like a skin colored latex mask or make up, covering something under it.
He survived a bullet to the face and broke my arm with just a punch. I don't know what that freak is, but he's certainly not human.
"You know kid." He spoke, reaching for the wound in his face, and forcefully pulling the bullet out the wound. "As God, I don't need mortal things like food. I feed, draining the nutrients off my victims, in other words, I drain the life force of them. That's why I need slaves. I won't eat my followers!" He let out a laugh. "And you know what? Your sister, Lori." My eyes went wide with the realization of what he was getting at. "She was delicious."
"You son of a bitch." I spoke, angrily. "Your name really sounds the part. Blight."
"If that's how you want to call me, be it, God doesn't care." Blight spoke.
"There's only one God. And he doesn't wear a turtleneck."
N/A: And that's how it ends this week! Next week we'll have the climatic fight between our hero! that got pulled put of his depression spiral and now it's ready to fight for his family!
In the end I intentionally shifted calling Benjamin Light into Blight, cause his normal man mask is starting to be teared down, revealing the monster that he truly is.
Lola has fallen in this chapter also. It may look like fast or rushed, but I did it the way ai did to accentuate the direness the situation the Louds are in.
I wrote Lincoln giving his armor to Lana as a metaphorical sign that he doesn't have to hide himself in his shell and is ready for what the world prepared for him.
I think that I ended not flashing Lincoln's arc as well as I wanted, but I'm also not unsatisfied by the result, I actually would like to read your opinions on the matter, should I have flashed it out more?
I think that's everything, see you next week, be good!
bye.
