Sonya and I walked through the streets of Candlelight. Lots of buildings were already up and lots more were still being built. It was so weird to see a city like this, half built.
"So what do you think of the city so far?" Sonya asked curiously.
"It's kinda surreal. Japan has always been a massive city, buildings get renovated and rebuilt all the time but actually seeing a once blank flatlands area turn into a city is… strange." I admitted.
"It could be weirder, you could stumble upon a blank planet and it suddenly transforms into whatever you thought it would be on your first steps." Sonya explained.
"Is that how that really works?" I asked.
"Pretty much." She nodded. "It's a weird thing, not many know why but it happens in this infinite expanse we call our home."
I nodded. I noticed on the other side of the street two girls were walking along, words sloshed as they laughed and tried to hold onto one another. Huh, must have had a fun night out. We passed them and we eventually arrived on a street with a lot of open late restaurants. "I actually didn't expect this many places to be open still."
"Well, there's a lot of people that want to have fun at night, or they're nocturnal races and have to do stuff at night." Sonya shrugged.
"Fair point… So, which looks good? I never ate out at restaurants that much so…"
"Well, we can try an all you can eat buffet." Sonya brought up. "Just in case you can't decide on what to eat at a specific restaurant." Sonya brought up.
"Alright then." I said with a nod as we walked through the various restaurants. We eventually found one that looked okay and got seated at a table. This was one of those conveyor belt ones where large plates of the food passed by and we either took the plate of pieces. "I've always seen these kinds of places on TV. Kinda weird to see them in real life."
"It's not as common as most other places, but it was common enough in Japan." Sonya said.
"So, what should we… talk about?" I asked, nervously as I took a few pieces of chicken for my personal plate.
Sonya grabbed a whole rotisserie chicken for herself. "Well, what do you want to talk about?" She asked curiously. "Cause there's lot's we could talk about honestly." She said as she bit into the chicken with her…very sharp teeth I never noticed before.
"Um, well, what does a mountain kami fox normally do?"
"Well, what we're normally supposed to do is tend to a Mountain area, help the people that respect us during times of unnatural turmoil, and fend off Demons and other such negative spirits." She explained.
"Do you have your own mountain? Can you get one? I kinda doubt Kurogiri is willing to share."
"I…don't sadly…" She sighed out. "I can obtain a mountain, but I'd have to talk to Kurogiri and then a few other's if I can lay claim to one of the mountains in this area."
"Will getting your own mountain gain you any special boosts or powers?"
"Well, it would depend on how I take care of the mountain and how the inhabitants would take care of the surrounding area and the mountain itself." She started. "Cause if it's well taken care of, I get proper donations, and a bunch of other things then I would indeed get a lot of special boosts and powers."
"So offerings are like an exchange?"
"Pretty much.." She shrugged. "They offer up thing's they have, mostly grain and the like, and I offer them support through nature." The mountain fox explained.
"Huh… So if you did get your own mountain, the city could pay you offerings and you'd help boost crops grown on the mountain?"
"Well either that, or I help people that need the mountain for other reasons, like Hunter's and Woodcutters." She explained. "Hunter's to get successful hunts, and Woodcutter's for strong tree's to help them later."
"Interesting. Does that also include weather?"
"In some cases, yes." She nodded. "I'd also have to talk to weather groups if I'm allowed to do specific things that wouldn't interrupt with their work as well."
"Neat. So, what about… other spirits? Can you all share a location if you want or no?"
"We can, but they have to play nice cause I would be the head kami of that mountain." She said honestly. "I can share with other Mountain Kami as well, but they would be considered lesser mountain kami until they find their own mountains to oversee."
"That makes sense. So, what about powers. As you are now, aside from… growing and shrinking your size, can you do anything else?"
"Well, I can use many elemental attacks, mostly Air and Earth magics, then if I have enough offering's I can slowly obtain more stronger spells, and able to do some minor reality warping, but only on the basis of being able to create plants and animals if I have enough energy and power to do it."
"Impressive. So… what do you like? TV, music… books?" I asked, trying to figure out this dating thing off the top of my head.
"I love music, books are great and TV can be a bit hit or miss for me." She said honestly. "What's your favorite kind of music?"
"I mostly just listened to pop and some old school music my mom always played around the house. No real specific genre."
"Understandable." She nodded. "I love Shamisen music, though that might just be stereotypical considering what I am, but I just love how it can be as smooth and calming, or energetic and forceful…too bad I can't play it for crap."
"Heh, I can't play either. Can't sing either. Back in school they actually moved me out of music and choir because I was not going to pass them." I said with a chuckle.
"That's fair, not everyone can do all those great things." She shook her head. "But what about you? What do you like?"
"Well, I like Heroes. And Tomura is helping me expand my interests by force feeding me tv and video games." I chuckled.
"There's a lot of TV and video games out there." She nodded. "And I'm sure Tomura won't lead you astray into any of the terrible things either of those media's have." She nodded. "And Heroes? Well, there's always the Heroes Guild if you want to join that if you haven't already."
"I'm considering it, but I want to better control my powers before I join up. Prepare and have some experience under my belt before officially joining them."
"That's fair." She nodded. "All the magic's you have can be a little big to handle when you don't have too much experience." She said, only talking about my magic considering we're in a public place, even if it is Candlelight.
"Yeah. Does make me consider things like my Hero name or costume."
"Yeah, sometimes hero costumes and names can be pretty tough based on what you're good at." She nodded.
"Yeah, plus given how this reality works… I'm guessing there's over a million Deku's." I sighed.
"Well…as the person, yes, but as the hero name? You'd be surprised that there's actual diversity in the names." She mentioned. "There's still plenty of Deku's, but not as many as you'd first thing."
"Either way, I don't think I'd want that as my hero name. I get why from a… show and book perspective, but I'm not a show or manga character."
"That's fair." She nodded. "I'm sure you'll figure something out when you're ready."
"Thanks. I am thinking about incorporating some gadgets too. I did always find it weird the show version of me never did that too often. Sure later on they did but those all would have been helpful a lot sooner."
"Many heroes believe they're quirk is enough, and for you…well honestly, at least in the show, you didn't know there was an R&D section of the school, but gadget's are always a good thing to have, in case powers don't cut it immediately."
"Part of why I wish there was an Iron Man in my world, or equivalent. Would have made Quirkless Heroes a lot more common."
"Would have been expensive first of all, and second there really wouldn't have been much cause, if memory serves, there was barely ten percent of people without a quirk." Sonya pointed out. "And if space travel had to be put on hold for all that nonsense, then so would iron man suits…even if it would have been really cool to see some of them."
"True, but a lot of the technology developed after Quirks became a thing was all largely believed to be stuff of science fiction too. I like to think a palm sized engine powering an armored suit wasn't too far off."
"While technically you're right that an engine would have been made to power a suit of power armor, the arc reactor was way beyond your world's tech at the time." Sonya pointed out. "You'd have to think of it more like…say the Power Armor from Warhammer 40K or Starcraft more than the Iron Man suit due to limitations on tech and surface area."
"Maybe, though here that's all an option and on the table. Huh, that actually would be useful for the future. Maybe construct something that can withstand the excess pressure from my abilities to reduce strain on the body and store excess energy to be utilized by the systems to-"
"You're doing it again." Sonya pointed out, giggling as I realized I was about to go on a tangent again.
"Heh, sorry. Um… hero talk aside, what should we do after this?"
"Well, anywhere else you wanted to go after this?" She asked, finishing the chicken she grabbed. "Like stores, the park, anything?"
"I don't really know. Maybe just walk around and see what's going on."
"Fair enough." She nodded. "Walks are always nice and simple for dates."
"Heh… true… Um, I kinda asked Delilah the same thing, but… what is it that you… like about me, exactly?"
"Hmm, what do I like about you?" She hummed, looking at me intently. "I like you for you, the humble little teen who's endearing and kind spirit helps pick up others around you when you're not being an adorably shy dork." She said honestly.
"Heh, thanks… I still find the whole… Pod People as prizes and lovers and such so… strange."
"It's something you get used to." She said softly. "It's just something that happens in this world and…not many people know why."
"I guess even in a reality like this, mysteries will always be a thing."
"There's many mysteries in this world that haven't been figured out, that's why there's many guilds trying to figure them out, and why half of Youtube tends to have hilarious video's on them having done so much caffeine it almost looks like a Looney Toons bit." She chuckled. "Or that one scene from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
"Huh. Well, in anycase, Sonya do you want anything from me? Like, something for me to do?"
"What do you mean?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"I mean like, if there was… something you'd like me to do, for or with you… what would that be?" I asked, blushing a bit.
"All I want from you, is to be with you, and be your mate." She said softly. "To enjoy all the time in the world with you…all I want is you." The fox told me simply. "And also…to be my head priest when I do become a full fledged Mountain Kami cause…well I can trust nobody else to have that position."
"Head priest? What would I even do?"
"Make sure people are making offering's properly, tending to the main shrine, making sure people aren't ruining the area I own…basically you're a mixture of a guardian and a house husband." She said honestly.
"Heh…" I chuckled. "Somehow I knew that was gonna come back and bite me…"
"Oh? What do you mean by that?" She asked curiously.
"Heh… well, back home when I was little, there was this… one girl who didn't hate or bully me for being quirkless. She was nice, if a little… obsessive. She had a quirk that let her instantly mold metals as if they were clay. She always looked at me like I was this fascination. I was the only quirkless kid in school, city come to think of it. Before we all left for middle school, I guess she went to another one cause I never saw her after that summer but she used to say that if she became a hero, I'd be her house husband." He chuckled. "Kacchan found out and it became a whole thing for most of the summer."
"Now was it just to mess with you or something else?" Sonya inquired.
"Well, do you mean about that girl or what Kacchan did, cause he and the others did that to mess with me. Her though… I feel like she meant it."
"Right then." She nodded. "I meant for Katsuki but I didn't specify…but yeah that sounds a little strange but adorable for the little girl and…well that sounds like a Katsuki."
"Heh, to be honest seeing a gender bent version of Kacchan is still weird, but she's different enough from him for me to see them as different people."
"Fair enough." She nodded. "But…I might as well ask…what do you want of me?" She asked carefully.
"Honestly?" I said, thinking that over. "...I just want to make you happy. Growing up… how I was I was always either seen as in the way or not worth the effort, everyone save my mother. She was the only one I could ever make happy, make smile. I just want to make others smile. Make them happy."
Sonya smiled warmly. "Thank you Izuku…that means the absolute world to me."
"Happy to make you happy." I replied with a smile.
We finished up our meals then headed out on our walk. It was… really nice. So far, better than what happened on my date with Delilah… Gonna have to have a do-over with that one.
We stopped just shy of Kurogiri's mountain and just laid on the grass and looked up at the stars.
"This is nice…" Sonya said warmly.
"It does feel nice to just lay down and enjoy the simple things." I agreed. "Hey Sonya?"
"Yes Izuku?" Sonya inquired, looking over to me with those big loving eyes.
"... Would it be alright if we kissed?" I asked, surprising myself with that question.
"It would be more than alright." Sonya said happily, scotting closer to me. "You didn't even need to ask."
She kissed me and I managed to kiss back.
"Today's lesson is simple." Katsuki said as she placed several books in my hands. "We're going to expand your spell library."
"This is gonna be fun." Jaaku said to me. "Nothing like some good ol fashion reading to understand basic magics."
"These tombs carry several advanced Levitation, Telekinesis, and Pyromancy spells. They are easy to learn and with your talent for them so far, you can easily master them quickly."
"And if you ever need to have it physically shown, I'm here to help." Jaaku brought up to me, which is a good thing cause having both reading material to understand what I need to do and having a visual aid for it to fully understand it will help understand this new challenge easier.
"Alright." I nodded, taking the books and began looking them over. It honestly surprised me how magic could be explained in a matter similar to math or science. It was not too different from the spells I knew already, just a few more matrixes or formulas to keep in mind when casting them.
It actually surprised me the differences between Telekinesis and Levitation. Both are capable of fine tune manipulation, but where Levitation can only affect the physical world, Telekinesis can affect another's mental perceptions and various other attributes of the physical world.
"So what do you think so far?" Jaaku asked me.
"I think that this is impressive. In a lot of ways, a lot of quirks back home could be explained as magic." I stated as I flipped the page.
"Yeah, a lot would be considered magic." Jaaku nodded. "Like seriously…how does one biologically explain being a blackhole?"
"Or see the future." I added. "Like, Kacchan I get, his parents too, and a lot of others I can understand, but some just… make little sense from a biological point of view." I agreed. "At least all these spells can easily create a unique combination, mixing them either with other spells or quirks."
"Yep." Jaaku nodded. "Magic is a very special and versatile thing in this realm."
I studied the books for the next few hours, reading each one over to cover and trying each spell until I was able to cast each one with minimal effort. My mana so far has been holding up well, if only a few potions to replenish it.
"Alright, now then, for your final task I want you to mix spells." Katsuki stated. "Mixing spells is oftentimes challenging, but the payoff when done successfully can easily determine the type of magic caster you are and can better tell where your limits are at." She explained. "Mixing spells means you cast them, and merge the matrices into a single one that easily allows both spells to work as a single one. Depending on how you accomplish this depends on how strong the new spell becomes."
"Alright, so, any tips for it?" I asked.
"It's usually different for each person. The best chance though is to understand both spells or all your spells as best you can and then, well, run the math in your head and hope the answer you get is right. Or right enough."
"So either we get it right and get something like Delayed Fireball, or we accidentally commit a Looney Tunes bit." Jaaku said in simple terms.
I tried to focus. Telekinesis in one palm, and fire in the other. Despite not being visible, I mentalized their matrixes and began thinking on how to get them both together, make them work as a single spell. Slowly I brought both closer together and began running through potential combinations in my head.
"So far so good, just keep putting them together and I'll warn you if you're moving too fast or slow." Jaaku said carefully.
As I was focusing on combining the two, I think I found a stable matrix mix that I managed to feel the spells combine in that order as I pulled them together. Eventually I held the mixed spell in my hands, feeling the fire dance around as with shere thought I made the flames move around and make shapes.
"Not bad, your matrix is stable and the controle seems good." Katsuki stated.
"Nice, it didn't blow up in your face, and you figured out how to create a fire version of Magic Missile." Jaaku nodded.
"And this is the Magic equivalent to Pyrokinesis. Izukie's quirk." Katsuki stated. "Master this, and I'll be willing to give you her quirk."
I looked over at Katsuki for a long time. "Th-thank you…" I said.
"Hey, you're doing better than I expected for a rushed education. Figured you'd get rewarded for not falling behind."
"Then we better work harder to deserve it." Jaaku added.
With a nod I began focusing on this Pyrokinesis spell. I kept in mind every little detail my parents told me about their quirks and my own observations about them, making sure to be careful with each new bit of experimenting and practice with it.
After a week of this nonstop, Katsuki walked up to me, holding some large glass and metal cylinder. Inside was this… glowing, almost mini star of red and green. "Is… that…?" I asked.
She nodded. "Izukie Mydoria's quirk, Pyrokinesis."
"Quirks look like that?"
"Each quirk and Ability all look different outside the body. These containers are specialty built and made by The Family only to hold them. It's how they give abilities away as rewards at arena tournaments and how in level four and five dungeons you find them in loot sometimes."
"Which makes sense if you think of them in a biological sense." Jaaku said. "Outside a person, they wouldn't look like what you have in your mindscape."
"Wow, it looks amazing… how do I…?"
"Here. You put one hand here." She said, turning the cylinder vertical and putting my hand on the top part. "Then just turn to the left and the tube does the rest."
I noted, gripping the top and turning it to the left. A hiss of pressure sounded as the form of the Ability flowed up. I felt a surge, like static in my hand for a second and then it passed.
[New Quirk Ability Acquired: Pyrokinesis]
"Fantastic." Jaaku nodded. "Now we have a new roommate."
"Wait we do?" I asked.
"Hm?" Katsuki asked.
"Yeah, the new quirk you just obtained is going to be in your mindscape, so a new roommate for me and the others." Jaaku said honestly.
"Oh, right…" I chuckled. "Um, so… what now?"
"Now, you go mess with and practice with em." Katsuki said, taking the jar and heading out.
"Huh… Well, should we meet them in the Mindscape then?" I asked Jaaku.
"Sure." Jaaku nodded as he readied my way into the Mindscape. "Wonder who this new quirk will be?"
Entering the Mindscape was as simple as falling asleep. My Mindscape wasn't different from the last time I was here. Walking around Jaaku and I kept an eye out for the new quirk. "Huh, I just thought of something."
"What up?" Jaaku inquired.
"Well, this Quirk was originally Katsuki's friend, Izukie's quirk. Does that mean it also has her DNA too, you know like how All for One does when he takes a quirk takes a piece of the original owner? Does that mean we're looking for a genderbent me?"
"It would depend on when she grabbed it, or if this is actually Izukie's quirk, or she just randomly found it one time." Jaaku brought up. "But considering how she held it…I'd say it was hers, so it would probably still have her DNA in it, so probably if your didn't immediately override it."
"If the original All for One couldn't do that then I doubt you or I could, even considering we're almost the same person."
"We actually obtained an ability through the 'normal means' in this world so who knows." Jaaku shrugged.
We walked around for a while before I finally spotted something different. It was a house, one that definitely was not here before. It looked nice. It was fairly simple looking, a small two story house with a small yard and such. I was walking up, about to open the door-.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." I turned around, spotting… One for All? "She's adjusting."
"Yeah…" Jaaku said, lightly touching the wall of the house. "She's gonna need a moment…there's a lot of emotions in this place already…"
"So, is it actually her?" I asked.
One for All shook their head. "No, not entirely. What she is is akin to your 'mother' here in the Mindscape. A collection of DNA and memories given a physical, representative form. Like a fingerprint or a picture."
"And considering this is her quirk after she…" Jaaku shook his head. "Let's leave that bit till she's ready."
I nodded, looking at the door. It was weird, on the other side is a different version of me living a different life. Those manga and anime where one thing… but to see one in person, or be this close is… strange.
A week flew by and I spent it between training and getting to know the various… girlfriends I have. Mainly a do over of my date with Delilah, who managed to disguise herself by dying her fur parts a yellow color, wearing only a sports bra and shorts with a yin yang symbol on them, some long gloves with the same symbol and fluffing her tail out to look less like a cat.
I didn't get why Tomura and Kai were laughing until they explained to me she was also cosplaying some videogame character.
My second date with Todorokie went well enough. We talked, walked, ate lunch and saw a movie. And… well, me trying to be more open with them I managed to kiss her. Though when I did she nearly caught the park on fire/flash froze it.
My second date with Sonya went really well. We actually went hunting for Terra Gems, Water Gems and Flora Gem. Katsuki explained that with enough of these gems, Sonya could easily make her own lush and vibrant mountain rich in plants, water and such. We managed to find nine Terra Gems, Six water gems and six Flora Gems.
We were a good hundred or so miles from the main city on the opposite side from Kurogiries mountains. "You ready?" I asked Sonya.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Sonya said, today wearing beautiful looking kimono as she prepared herself.
"Do you have an idea for how you want the mountains to look?" I asked. "Like, a single mountain or a range of them like Kurogirie?"
"That's…a tough choice…" She hummed, looking over the land and trying to figure out the proper way to shape the land. "While a mountain range could help create a better ecosystem, a single mountain would also be fine and not obstruct too much…" She hummed.
"I guess a single mountain can work for now, and if you want you can expand later." I offered.
"That would work." She nodded. "So first, I need to figure out where to put my main Shrine, then map out if I should have it at the peak, or have it closer to the people that might settle…" She hummed, looking around the vast open area for a good spot.
"I actually gave that some thought to be honest." I informed. "Long story short given how… annoyed Kurogirie is with having his place all packed with people, I was thinking maybe you have two shrines. One closer to the base where people can leave their offerings, pray and visit, and a second one at the peak where we'll, well… all live. Gives not just a great view of the mountain, the city and all around but also it's a place for all of us to make a home." I stated, feeling kinda cheesy and such, but a home for us all just sounds… right.
"That sounds amazing." She said warmly. "Now…where to start the mountain, and where to end it?" She muttered, kneeling down and putting a hand to the ground as if trying to feel it out. "Should be…" She muttered, lightly getting up and moving over a couple feet to the right.
Once she found a good spots she took a deep breath, letting the energies from the gems flow all around her.
The ground seemed to shake almost violently, suddenly we were shot up high, carried by the rising earth and settling some miles up. It oddly wasn't that cold up here. Still, Sonya kept the energies flowing as now various trees, grass and soon even rivers began to flow all around, stretching from the top where we stood to the base all the way down.
I was honestly amazed. I could see the whole city, the lake and Kurogirie's mountains from here.
"Okay…" Sonya lightly panted. "That…that should be good enough for everything."
I quickly helped her balance herself and sit down. "I figured it would take a lot out of you. Are you going to be alright?"
"Yeah, I'm going to be alright." She said, taking a deep breath of the new mountainous air. "Now all we need is…the money to build two shrines, set up my claim here…I completely forgot how much paperwork there's going to be…" She groaned.
"I asked and Katsuki said she'd help with that, given she's basically the mayor here. As for the shrines, I remember seeing something about Instant Buildings in a store once. Maybe they make one for shrines too. Wouldn't hurt to look."
"That would help out a lot." She sighed out. "Will make building them less of a pain in the ass…though we'd have to find Shinto Shrines though…"
"I'm willing to bet Tomura knows where to find them." I chuckled.
"He probably would." Sonya nodded. "So…after I get my bearings, we'll go find them and see if they know where a Shrine Instant Builder is."
"That sounds like I plan." I said with a nod.
We sat at the top of the new mountain for a while. Various fruit trees and the rivers all had clean food and delicious water. Once Sonya was ready to go I used Warp to bring us back to Kurogiri's and thankfully found Tomura peting his Eevee in the living room.
"You're back early." Tomura mentioned. "What up?"
"Sonya managed to make her mountain, and I was thinking the… girls, and I could live there. A main house at the peak and a shrine closer to the base for people to leave Sonya offerings and such. We were hoping you knew a place that sold all kinds of instant buildings and such."
"Oh, what kind of place?" He asked. "Cause a hardware store tends to have those insta-houses."
"A Shinto Shrine." Sonya said simply.
"Hmm, right then." Tomura said as he pulled up his Assistant and looked through something. "Hmm…there should be a place already set up that sells those things…"
Turns out there was a shop called World Builders that sold just that, among other neat things. Their closest shop was in the nearby city, Valley Basin.
Thankfully Tomura gave us the Assistant Teleport Coordinates and we were there quickly. I have to admit, this place looked amazing. An entire city built in and around a massive mineshaft going down.
"Well, this place looks rather interesting." Sonya said, looking around the town around the giant hole.
"It's incredible. The engineering to build something like this suspended over a hole like that without risk of falling from all the weight it's bearing is incredible." I said in awe.
We looked around for a while before eventually finding the World Builders shop. Entering it was kind of what I expected. A lot of shelves with a lot of small models of various buildings and objects. And a front desk counter with a cashier.
"Excuse me." Sonya asked the cashier. "Where's the Shinto Shrine builders?"
"All our stock comes pre-manufactured unless you want to order a custom build." The cashier, a slightly reptilian looking humanish person stated with a shrug. They typed something into the nearby computer. "We do have a variety of Shinto Shrines in stock, if you want to browse."
"Yes please." The fox nodded politely.
He quickly printed out the list with images and handed them to her.
"What about something along the lines of traditional Japanese houses?" I asked. "Preferably something… rather massive on the inside."
"I can probably work something out but I'd personally recommend a Pocket Village. Basically it's a walled off area from the outside, usually ranging from a few feet to several miles from the outside. Inside however they are anywhere from several miles to several hundred miles."
"How does that work?"
"Similar to normal pocket dimension technology but it replicates an unsettled landscape or world on the inside of it."
"That…would also help the people that might want to live near my mountain…" She hummed.
"You just want to have your own village of worshipers don't you?" I asked her with a grin. Sonya just blushed and looked away.
"M-maybe…" She said nervously.
I chuckled. "Well, what would you recommend?" I asked the clerk.
"Well, in regards to pocket Villagers the larger the outside area the larger the inside area. Our smallest model is the Model 2 Baby Eden with an outside size of twenty feet and an inside size of nine thousand miles in radius with customizable contanent/ocean generation. All these are powered by a Terraform Engine that help keep the place similar to the real world, save for spawning monsters and animals. Those all only spawn in once upon activation and will have to be bred to keep populations up. Our largest is the TA Module Y Utopia. An outside radius of seven thousand miles and an inside world size several trillion miles in radius, and uses four Terraform Engines."
"Uh…huh…" Sonya said. "Right…I didn't think they would be…that huge…"
"Um… how much do those Baby Eden ones cost?" I asked.
"Five thousand rem each." The cashier stated.
I have forty thousand right now. Made a lot selling the excess stuff I got from the mines looking for the gems with Sonya. "Did you pick a shrine yet Sonya?"
"Yes." She nodded, grabbing a shrine that also doubled as a house for them.
"Do the pocket villages also come with houses?" I asked.
"Yes but they are not pocket dimension houses, if you choose that option in the start up." The clerk said.
"Hmm… what about other houses that are? They work inside the pocket villages right?"
"Yes and given your package, I do have this recommendation." They typed again and printed off another sheet of paper. The house I was looking at did look like an old fashioned Japanese mansion, with many modern features here and there that were blended into the design.
"Yeah, that can work perfectly. How many can it house?" I said with a nod.
"Each room can be sized up to four thousand miles and it can hold up to forty thousand rooms. It can be upgraded like all Pocket Dimension houses."
The total ended up draining me of all my funds but I honestly didn't care. Once we paid and we're off I used Warp to take us back to Sonya's new mountain. That warp took a bit out of me, but I was able to still stand at least.
I handed Sonya the small tubes with buttons on them. One was for her shrine, the other was her pocket village. "And now you can pick where to place them." I said with a nod.
"This is going to be fantastic." She said warmly, her tail wagging like mad in joy.
I held back a laugh as she took the small pods and walked around. She ended up putting her shrine about a hundred feet up the mountain, and the pocket village at the foot of the mountain. She set it to be mostly flatlands with several oceans and rivers across each mass of land.
And finally I warped us up to the top of the mountain, putting the pocket village and setting it to something that should roughly resemble my earth. When it was done, walking in the inside area was amazing. It was basically an untouched version of earth. The entrance landed us on what would be Japan back home. A short walk away from the entrance, which in here the exit looked like a golden gateway in the middle of these grassy fields, I set the house pod down and once it was all set assembled, smiled as I looked around. "Wow… our own… home. Basically our own world." I chuckled, the insanity of it all finally dawning on me just how amazingly insane this would could be.
"And it's all for us." Sonya said happily. "In all it's crazy wonders."
With this all done Sonya went to the newly built town hall where Katsuki spends most of her daylight hours, and I went to give everyone the news and move them along.
Warp made that easy and Kurogiri was more than happy to help to get his house back. He also, rather bluntly, told Kai and Tomura to move out as well.
Kai just shrugged and said he's gonna bum about town for a while before actually finding a place and Tomura actually already had a place bought, one of the new houses in the residential section bought and was actually waiting to tell us about his plans to move out. Apparently his girlfriends and him are considering starting a family proper.
By the time everyone was over to Sonya's mountain, inside the Pocket Village and inside the house, it was fairly late. Thankfully there wasn't much in terms of furniture for us to haul and with everyone helping it was fairly effortless.
I collapsed on the couch this place seemed to have come with. The inside was models similar to old fashioned mansions with wood and paper walls/doors, but they were stronger than normal wood and paper. The upper floors all had a mix of modern and traditional Japanese architecture. The only few things that really stood out were the kitchen and bathrooms, which were completely modern.
Delilah jumped herself into my lap with a hefty thud, but a smile on her face as she looked at me.
"This is fantastic Izuku." Delilah said warmly.
"Heh. I used to promise my mom that the day I became a hero, number one, the money I'd get I'd buy her a large house in the county, she, I, and my family would all live together." I said, a small smile on my lips as I pat Delilah's head. "If… when the day comes, I want to bring her here, and she can live with us here. Though, I imagine she would freak at seeing how many girlfriends I have."
"And then she'd ask you when she's getting her grandchildren." Delilah giggled.
"Maybe." I said with a chuckle. "Guess tomorrow I best go back to the dungeons or something. Gotta stock up on food for everyone here."
"That would be a good thing." She nodded. "Cause while the town is getting filled with restaurants and stores, money will soon be an issue if we're not careful."
"I guess between dungeon crawling, maybe some farming, hunting and whenever I do join the Heroes Guild we can get a lot done with that. Heh, not like we don't have a lot of space here for building a farm." I chuckled.
"Oh yeah, we have all the space to farm and hunt." Delilah nodded happily.
"So, what have you been up to while I've been training and… heh, going on dates. Wow, guess Jaaku is affecting me more than I expected."
"I've been keeping watch over thing's, spending time with everyone, just doing what I can to help when you're not around." She said honestly.
"So… being a lazy housecat?" I asked with a chuckle.
"I miss you damn it." She whined, lightly pawing at my chest playfully. "I know I could see you at any time…but I have to keep a low profile all the time…"
"I know, though I guess if you always go out in cosplay you'd probably never get discovered." I laughed.
"True, but I want to strut my stuff without needing to cosplay in public." She huffed. "Especially when I'm with you."
"Well, maybe depending on what we build or do with this Pocket Village we live in, we can?"
"That would be fantastic." She said warmly. "Cause cosplaying is great and all…but I want people to know that I'm the one being with you…"
I laughed a little, resting there with Delilah on my lap for a long while.
At almost ten at night I heard a strange sound I did not expect. Knocking. "Someone… at the door?"
"What's going on?" Delilah asked sleepily, yawning as she got up carefully at the knocking.
"Someone is knocking at the door… meaning they climbed the mountain… went into our Pocket Village, all to get here and knock on the door…" I started.
"Which…first of all, who the hell knows we're here besides Katsuki and your brothers?" She grumbled, getting up and rubbing her eyes carefully. "Well…let's see who's here."
We walked over to the door, Delilah being the first to open it a crack. From what I could see it was some woman with chrome, almost metallic looking hair. "Hi, um. This is Izuku Mydoria's home?" She asked Delilah, likely unable to see me from her angle.
"Yes…and who is this?" She asked carefully.
"Oh, my name is Rin, Rin Ito. I was over at one of the Isekai Guild locations earlier today," Isekai Guild? "And when I used their Same world, dimension tracker thing it showed someone from my world showed up." Her… we're from the same world?
"Well, that's rare to hear." She said. "Come on in, hey Izuku, do you know anyone by Rin Ito?" Delilah asked as she stepped to the side to let the mystery lady in.
As Delilah opened the door and I got a good look at her, I will admit… She did look familiar, but I never knew a Rin Ito. "You do look familiar-"
"It is you!" She yelled, suddenly tackling me to the ground. A hard pressure around my torso told me she was hugging me a bit too hard. "Oh my gosh I wished this would happen!"
"D-do I know you?" I managed to gasp out.
"Don't you remember? Back home you were going to be my House Husband!"
Wait what!? "That was you?!"
"Le gasp!" Delilah said in shock. "Izuku, you never said anything about being a House Husband and only wearing an apron you super buff nerd." Delilah said…excuse me what!?
"Okay, hang on." I said, managing to pull Rin off me and stand up. "Okay… So not only are we from the same world, you're that same girl who used to say that when you became a hero, I'd be your house husband…?"
"Yes." Rin said with a nod, jumping to her feet.
"I have… a lot of questions."
"And we have plenty of time for those questions." Delilah said honestly.
Slowly I headed over to the couch. Delilah sitting next to me and Rin sitting on the chair across from the couch. "So… how did you end up here?" I asked.
"It was just before middle school started. There was a villain making a mess and I fell into a hole in the road into the sewers. Well, I thought I was gonna fall into the sewers. I ended up falling for a bit too long and suddenly I wake up in a bed in one of those church things. You can guess the rest after that. Spent some time with the Caretakers, eventually left and started doing my own thing." Rin stated rather simply.
"Okay, yeah… but how long have you been here?"
"Forty six years. I'm fifty eight and looking good!" Rin stated with a chuckle. "Judging from how you look… I'm guessing less time passed back home?"
"Almost three years." I stated.
"Shit, really?" Rin asked. "Wow… weird."
"It happens." Delilah shrugged. "It's a whole lotta random chance sadly."
"And, what have you been doing since you've been here?" I asked.
"Like I said back home. I became a hero, joined the Heroes Guild Summers Light and I've been doing some jobs for them when needed." Rin stated.
"There's more than one Heroes Guild?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, there's a lot. Summers Light specifically works in protection and defending locations, people and rescue and damage control."
"Yeah, a lot of Heroes Guild's are a lot more specialized in certain fields, like search and rescue, fighting monsters, or like with Summers Light with all those things." Delilah brought up.
"Ah, so like Hero Agencies back home." I said with a nod.
"Exactly." Rin stated. "So, wanna set a time?"
"A… time?" I asked.
"For a date."
What?!
"She's been waiting over fourty years to see you again, you gotta give her a date." Delilah said. "She's got a lot of dedication to keep that olive branch out for ya."
"..." Why me…
The next morning I sat down while Delilah, Sonya and Todorokie we're all trying to brush my hair and pick out clothes for me. "This isn't necessary." I tried to say.
"It is." Sonya answered.
"She's been waiting for this moment for decades." Todoroki said honestly.
"Be glad I didn't tell you to fuck her already." Delilah said honestly.
"Speaking of, when will we get that treatment?" Sonya asked. "Cause so far only Delilah has had that pleasure."
"... Um… I don't know how to answer that?" I stated.
"All I want you to do now is give them that Virginia Smash." Jaaku told me, trying his best not to laugh at my current predicament.
"Where am I even going for this date?" I asked, ignoring Jaaku for the time being.
"It's like our date." Sonya said. "Just a simple breakfast and walk kind of deal."
"Oh. Alright, I can do that." I said, taking a deep breath. "Yeesh, when I was getting used to trying some dating, Rin came out of nowhere like a wildcard."
"A very sexy wildcard." Delilah chuckled.
"She's got you on that House Husband thing now doesn't she?"
"Well, so far Sonya and Rin want you to be their househusband, why not join the bandwagon?" Delilah asked.
"I still want him to be a hero and not stuck in the house all the time." Todoroki said, at least having my back on this.
"I don't quite get the whole House Husband thing…" I sighed.
"Maybe we should… dress up to show him what a housewife looks like so he can return the favor~" Sonya stated.
"Oh that would be fantastic~." Delilah purred in glee.
"I'm gonna come home to something unexpected…"
"It'll be something incredible." Delilah answered happily.
Once they were all done grooming me, I exited the Pocket Village we held our home in atop Sonya's mountain with a simple grey dress shirt, brushed hair and matching dress pants and shoes. I spotted Rin waiting for me nearby. She was in an all sky blue dress that even covered her feet, hair kept in a flatly brushed ponytail. "Wow, you clean up nice." She said.
"Um… thanks." I said, surprised to see her just as dressed up too.
"Now you two have fun." Delilah said happily.
Before I could reply, Rin took my arm and walked me to a rather fancy, futuristic looking car. Once we got in she pushed some buttons and it started driving itself down the mountain.
"So… where are we going for breakfast?"
"Well, want to go somewhere mainstream or a mom and pop store?" She asked simply.
"I guess we'd be a bit overdressed for either huh?" I asked. "Maybe a mainstream place? Do you have anything in mind?"
"Well, I was thinking about a place from our home town." She said, which honestly surprised me to hear that. "They're actually building one in Candlelight, believe it or not."
"A restaurant from home? Guess I shouldn't be too surprised by that. What's the place called?"
"Lotus Pond." She answered.
"I remember that place… it was like that mix between a fancy high end restaurant and fast food right?" I asked.
"Pretty much." She nodded. "It's still a great place to eat, especially with all the great thing's this world has to offer."
"I guess since it's fancy looking at least we won't really stand out."
"Yep." Rin nodded. "So, first getting your own harem, then deciding to make an entire town for Prize Pod People?" She asked me.
"Heh, that was actually Katsuki's idea. And the majority of the people in Candlelight came from someone else who did something similar, just bigger." I stated.
"Oh yeah, I think I remember reading up on that." Rin said. "The guy heard you were doing something similar after hearing the…rather disheartening bit's about the MatchMakers Guild, and then did all that."
I nodded. It's upsetting to hear about so many people just… left to sleep in a warehouse. For so long… "Yeah. It's just… not right."
"It's not, and hopefully with you and this other guy, everyone will realize the Pride Pod People are actual People." Rin said honestly.
"Hopefully, though I doubt everyone will… adopt, as many as the other guy or I."
"While it's not going to be that size, any amount will help." She nodded.
"True." I nodded.
The ride to Lotus Pond was simple, and once we were seated we ordered and were just waiting for the food.
"So… what do you typically do day to day?" I asked.
"Help the people, do standard patrol's around town's that are either a little too close to hazard zones or some villain trying to stir up some trouble, reading comics, and hoping for the day you show up here." She said honestly.
"You… really have been waiting that long hoping I'd show up?"
"I wanted to be with you since we were kids, damn it…" She said carefully. "You were special to me…and…well I was just hoping someone from my world was also here…" She sighed out.
"... Why was I special though? Everyone else always treated me like… well, dirt. Or ignored me. Why… was I different to you?"
"Because you were kind, compassionate…even when you were bullied so incessantly…" She said. "You showed me that you're heart was strong enough to handle all the bullying, to persevere against the odds and be better…but when I learned here that there's many like you that…couldn't take it…" She sighed out. "I'm getting off track with what I'm trying to say…" My old friend said. "You were important to me…call it love at first sight or something…but I wanted to make you feel important, feel as special as you truly were…even if it was as a House Husband."
I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck. "What was that all about anyway? I didn't even know what a House Husband was til a year later."
"Someone reliable I can come home to, after a rough day of heroing I would always just be so happy to see you at the house, always welcoming me back, and having food ready, helping me relax…or immediately ravishing me like a rabbit in heat." She said honestly, which caused my face to feel way too hot. "You have no idea how stressful it can be sometimes and being bent over the table would have helped a lot sometimes…" She said, her own cheeks beat red at that admission. "I know I shouldn't be saying lewd things…"
"Heh… in that regard you're a lot like Delilah… I'm honestly still getting used to being on regular dates with everyone… while Delilah and I… have done it, it was just the one time. I'm still pretty… awkward about a lot of things."
"I understand." She nodded. "Gotta ease into that cavalcade of emotions and feelings instead of jumping headfirst into it."
"Yeah. So, if I remember correctly, your Quirk let you manipulate metal? How have you mastered it after all these years?"
"Oh yeah, I've had plenty of time to figure out my quirk." She nodded. "How do you think I got this sweet car?"
"You… made the car? Wow…"
"Well, not the entire car." She admitted. "I still needed the engine and a few other bit's to make it fully functional, but the actual interior, frame, and the rest of it was all hand built by me." She said with a smile. "Who knew I'd come up with a Car hobby."
"I guess it's fairly easy for you to find raw metal in the ground then huh?"
"A lot easier than back home that's for sure." She nodded. "Back home my hero work would have been predicated on having bottles of metals on my person, but here…well nothing like literally slamming my hands into the ground and creating metal pillars from it." She shrugged. "You'd be surprised how much metal is just in the ground by itself, no matter how small it is."
"I can imagine. So, where do you live?"
"I live in the town over from Kurogiri's mountain." She said simply. "Took a bit to drive all the way here, but it was worth it."
"I can imagine. Most towns and cities are fairly far away from one another."
"Yeah, need a lot of space for a lot of things." Rin shrugged.
"So… are you going to keep living out there? I mean… heh, well…" I said, trying to not sound dumb or something.
"Well…until you ask if I want to move into your place…I'd still be living in that town." She said nervously.
I blushed. Wow, she really does like me a lot. "Heh, sure… um, so… how have you handled um… being here, after being separated from… well, your family?"
"It was…extremely hard at first…" She said carefully. "Not having any family…not having any friends…not having anything familiar for the first few years…it was hard, even with all the new fancy thing's in this reality."
I nodded. "I still think about back home, my mom and dad…"
"How have they been while I was away?" Rin inquired.
"Dad got an overseas position. It pays a lot but he's also away a lot too. Thankfully he can call, but the time difference makes it difficult sometimes. And he only gets to visit for a week twice a year. Since dad did that mom stayed home to raise me. The money dad makes pays for more than enough of our apartments rent and bills and such."
"That's good to know." She nodded. "You're mom was always so nice and sweet."
"Yeah… still makes me worried… this time difference thing… I can see her freaking out and panicking with me gone…"
"Yeah…one of the problems with being here...you don't know anything about what's going on back home." She said. "And the Time Walkers will be vague as shit about it cause they can't give precise answers for some reason…"
Our food arrived and we ate it fairly quickly. Once that was all done we headed out again.
We enjoyed a simple walk, enjoying the construction sites and watching the progress move along way faster than I ever experienced. "I still can't believe how fast all this is being built." I said.
"Well, there are a lot of Servant and Ally Prize Pod People helping build this place." Rin said. "Which even then this is fast for them."
"Servant and Ally?" I asked. "I know about Lover cause… well, Delilah and the others but I don't remember being told about those other two."
"Servant Class are people designed to do tasks, like maids, butlers, office workers, you name it. Ally Class are like Mercenaries in certain games, just without having to pay them as they become trusted party members." Rin explained.
"Huh. That's… just as weird as the lover class honestly." I said. "And they just appear in those pods in dungeons?"
"Yep." She nodded. "Or in Hazard zones sometimes. Nobody knows how it works, it just happens."
We continued our walk and ended up in the park. It was barely noon and we were mostly just killing time now. Rin ended up using my lap for a pillow at some point and I let her. I mean, Delilah does this all the time and it's not bad really…
"I've…been waiting for this moment…for forty years…" Rin said, as I looked over I saw her starting to tear up.
"You've been that determined to meet me again?"
"Yes…" She answered. "You meant the world to me…and just being here with you…after so long…" She sniffled, trying to wipe away some tears. "I couldn't be happier."
In all my life, I never imagined anyone from back home would say that to me. I put a hand on Rin's head. "Hey Rin?"
"Yes Izuku?"
"Would it be okay if I kissed you?"
Rin looked at me…and then just kissed me suddenly.
After it registered I kissed her back, and we sat there like that in the park for a long time.
The next day I wasn't too surprised to wake up and find Rin moving in. I began looking through a list of dungeons. At the moment, Money is well needed and I'd rather not join a Heroes Guild until I've got more confidence in my quirk abilities.
"Whatcha looking at?" Rin asked.
"Looking for a dungeon to run through for a fair amount of money and loot to sell. With… so many living in the house here we best stock up on money and food. Gonna be a while before any farming becomes enough to sustain us without issue."
"Yeah that's fair." Rin nodded. "See anything so far?"
"Well, there's a lot of areas for hunting and some dungeons that often have a lot of basic enemies for easy cash drops." I said, looking through the list of nearby locations. "There's even an underwater dungeon in the lake. But I can't breathe underwater."
"Well, there's ways to gain water breathing." Rin said. "Spells, items, or skills if you obtain the Breathing Skill Tree." She said. "Yes, there is a skill tree for breathing, does a lot of fancy things if you know how to use it."
"Huh." I hummed. If I saw one in use in person I could Copy it but that might be risky. Rin doesn't know about Copy Cat, or all the quirks and abilities I've gathered so far. I don't want to keep it a secret from her, but it might be best to wait until a while later to tell her. "I'll look into it. For now I guess I'll keep to the ones on land."
With that I closed the list and headed off. This would also be a great opportunity to practice my quirks in private against live combat.
As I exited the Pocket Village and stepped into Sonya's mountain top I noticed someone was following me. She was… a bear. A humanoid bear person, brown bear with long hair on her head and was, thankfully, wearing clothes. I noticed a fair amount of beastials don't usually wear them. "Um, do you need something?" I asked.
"Dungeoneering would be a great way to start our date." The bear said warmly...wait what?
"Um… okay, but um… what's your name?"
"Baylee." She answered. "I'm one of your Lovers...I know you have a lot, but I'd love to spend time with you."
"Um…" I do have a lot… still feels weird but… well, I guess it might be better if I don't go alone. "I'll be doing a mix of hunting and dungeon stuff. Is that still okay?" I asked her.
"Works for me." She nodded. "I need to get out and work out anyways. Plus, if we're going through a cave dungeon, then I'll be able to help out a lot." She said warmly.
"Okay then." I said, opening a Warp portal and sending us to the woods in the hazard zone just outside the city. The area around us looked really nice. Dotted around I saw some monsters and various other wild animals. "So, what kind of combat do you know how to fight with?"
"I know how to wield a Warhammer, or my claws and teeth." She said. "Even though I'm extra thicc, I am fast and strong." She said simply.
"Heh, right…" Given what Tomura and Kai have force fed me to know the other meaning of thicc… "So, I guess first we should focus on food at least. I'm sure there's a lot of wild animals and plants that we can either hunt, harvest or capture to take back and start a farm or garden." I said as I was looking around.
"Yes, there should be plenty around here." The brown bear nodded, sniffing the air as if trying to pick up the scent of creatures.
"I just hope we can bring a fairly big haul." I added as I looked around, then back over at Baylee. "Um, do you have race specific Abilities too?"
"Well, I do have a few." She said. "Their called Hunter and Forager, where I'm able to hunt and gather at double the normal pace as many other races." The bear explained. "And in the fall, I can gather three times the amount."
"That's actually very useful." I said with a wide eyes look. "If I can Copy it, then between the two of us we can easily get a big haul back home."
"That's very true." She nodded. "So let's get to foraging and hunting then."
With a nod we rapidly found a blackberry bush and once I saw Baylee pick a berry, and a second one appearing in her hand as if she picked two, I received the ability and a new race form. I shifted to the new race form, deciding to see what it was like.
I was taller, and thankfully my clothes still fit me. My fur was brown with green highlights along my muzzle, paws and ears. "Huh, this is actually kinda cool- what's with that look Baylee?" I asked, Baylee was staring at me with an open mouth and wide eyes.
"Adorasexy…" She blushed brightly. "You're… just… damn."
"I… umm… thanks." I said, blushing. "I didn't think changing my race form would have such an impact on you…"
"The impact is you looking so floofy and sexy…" She said carefully. "And…it's alright, just…a surprise." She shook her head. "So, you should have my racial abilities right now…which should make this a whole lot faster."
I nodded, smiling as I picked a berry and it became two.
We rapidly picked the bush clean and had almost two hundred black berries. We rushed around, finding more berry bushes and picking them all clean. We found an apple tree and got to work with that too. We came across a monster deer creature, Baylee and I managed to make quick work of it and, while rather disgusting we got to skinning and carving the creature up. Ended up with almost enough… parts to make two of them.
"I have to admit, this ability is pretty overpowered." I said as we were now picking a wild grape vine.
"And yet there's better." She said honestly.
"But with what you can do, we'll have enough food and meat to last us a while. Feed everyone and not have to worry that much."
"Which is a really good thing considering it's now between the two of us." She smiled.
"Yeah. So, um… do you have any likes and dislikes I should know about?"
"Well, I like to cuddle, a lot." She chuckled. "I hate enclosed spaces, even being a beastial…I have some claustrophobia I suppose, but big groups of people don't cause it."
"Hm, well, good thing the house is huge inside and out. So… any particular foods?"
"I can eat almost anything, but I prefer fish mostly." She said honestly.
"And specific fish?"
"Well there's always the tried and true Salmon, but there's this one fish that's just so good." Baylee started. "It's species is called the Gem Scale, all the fish's scales are actually gemstones of that specific color, and my favorite is the Emerald fish, there just so good."
"Does sound good. Can you eat meat raw and cooked?"
"Yes I can, but I prefer cooked as eating too much raw meat can cause me to get parasites and the like." She said honestly. "Beastial bodies have the same bodily functions to prevent sickness due to eating raw meat but it's overall not a good thing to do on the regular."
"That's fair. So… um… your hair is nice. Really long and curly."
"Thank you." The lovely bear said happily. "You have no idea how hard it is to make sure all of this is clean sometimes."
"I imagine long showers or baths and several bottles of shampoo and conditioner?"
"Thankfully not several bottles." She sighed out. "But it takes a while, even with the shampoo one of the retired Family created."
"Really, huh. Well, maybe after some more foraging we can head into a dungeon. There was one I looked at that was a cave that has various mushroom and plant based enemies."
"Works for me." She nodded. "Bear's also have a pretty good sense of direction in caves, which will work out a lot."
"Great." I said with a smile. We picked clean a wild cherry tree and another black berry bush and once that was done I used Warp to send us to the dungeon. So long as I have an image of the location I can warp there's but extreme distances can take a toll.
The cave entrance of this dungeon was covered in various vines and mushrooms. "So, you said you're good with Warhammers, do you have one?"
"I thankfully managed to obtain one before we moved." She said, pulling out the simple looking warhammer, the pole looking to be wood reinforced with metal bands and the head being a flat hammer head on one side and a sharp pick on the other. "Ready?"
"Yeah." I said with a nod. We entered the dungeon. From what I read it was four floors only but each floor was a large maze. One monster has the key to the next floor, and once you beat floor four you reach the boss, which is a plant demon. Since it's a monster and not a person it respawns once all people in the dungeon exit.
The first floor was covered in vines, moss and small mushrooms along the walls. Scan showed they were edible, so we picked them too. I was happy to see that this ability works in dungeons too.
"Well, so far so good." She said carefully. "And thanks to your scan ability, we'll know what's poisonous or not."
"Yeah. This dungeon should hopefully get us a lot of food and loot to sell." I said.
The monsters we came across were all plant based creatures. Typically they dropped rem and some herbs and root vegetables.
We found the key to the next floor, but stayed to clear out all the monsters.
Surprisingly we did find a hidden treasure chest partly buried in the wall. Pulling it out and opening it showed a small pile of gold coins, and a glowing syringe of some dark, grey looking thing.
I used scan on it, curious as to what this is.
[Item Scan Complete:
Item: Conduit Gene
Power: Smoke
Value: 350 rem Market Value.]
"Is that what I think it is?" She asked in surprise.
"It says it's a Conduit Gene. Power of Smoke? Is it special?"
"Well, a Conduit Gene…well it's kind of like Quirks in a sense." She started. "But instead of it being exclusively to humans, at least for the most part, it can appear in humans and animals, giving them abilities based on the type of Power they would gain, as well as your standard repertoire of super strength, speed, stamina and durability based on what kind of Conduit you would be." She explained. "And given that's Smoke…well you can absorb smoke and store it inside yourself, able to use it whenever you want to afterwards in many ways, and it gets stronger with time and practice."
"Sounds a lot like Quirks in a way." I noted, looking the syringe over. "Well, maybe I don't need that ability. I already got a fair amount I need to better practice with. It said its value is 350 rem, we need the money more than the super power." I hummed. "Unless you want it?"
"I'd love to become Smokey the Bear." Baylee said happily. "If I may?"
With a nod I handed it to her. She took it and after picking a spot, injected the needle into her arm. The bizarre liquid flowed into her arm and for a moment nothing seemed to happen.
Once the syringe was pulled out her arm began to get wrapped in a thick smoke with small embers floating around. Her other arm soon followed and after a second the smoke returned into her body.
"So… now you're a smoker?" I asked.
"Now I can prevent WildFires." She smiled. "But…also technically yes." She giggled at my pun.
We cleared out the remaining enemies, Baylee learning to cloak her warhammer in her new smoke power and deal extra damage to the monsters. It also made them dropped smoked vegetables and dried herbs.
"Huh… I mean, useful but unexpected." I said, picking up a smoked carrot and eating it. "Not bad actually."
"Gaining experience, and getting food at the same time? Perfect." She said happily.
We packed away all that loot and headed to the next floor. It was the same as the first but bigger and more monsters. I decided to try something, using Half Hot-Half Cold and froze one of the monsters. It dropped frozen herbs and vegetables. Using the fire side, it dropped roasted vegetables and herbs.
"Huh, so depending on how you kill them depends on how they drop the food loot. Interesting…" I said to myself as I tried to Activate Pyrokinesis.
I felt my mouth heat up as bits of fire came out. Carefully I managed to control the fire and sent the green flames out of my mouth and flying towards the nearby monster.
It incinerated fairly quickly-
Where am I?
What?
What's going on?!
"Did you hear that?" I asked.
"No." Baylee shook her head.
"Dude the fuck!?" Jaaku suddenly shouted.
Katsuki?! Three!?
I woke up feeling sore. Crap… what… happened to me?
"So you finally woke up." I looked up, seeing One for All sitting in a chair across from me. "Was worried, that reaction was… concerning."
"It's almost like we warned you not to do this yet." Jaaku said carefully, sitting in a chair opposite from One for All.
"Yeesh, as if I'm not sore enough- what?" I stood up, noting my voice. A quick glance at my body showed… I wasn't in my normal human body. I'm… my female human form? No, this is… older? "What… happened?"
"It would seem there was an unexpected reaction when you used Pyrokinesis." Own for All said. "It appears, your DNA and the DNA from Izukie are far more similar than expected."
"I mean, we are, were, parallel versions of each other but, were we really that similar?" I asked.
"Down to everything save gender."
"Katsuki's gonna flip when she hear's this." Jaaku shook his head. "And it's going to be even worse if Three find's us…whoever that weird Synthetic person is." Jaaku said carefully, which confused me how he knew who Three was…or how I knew it technically.
"Is this gonna be the worst of it?" I asked.
"Maybe, maybe not." One for All said with a shrug. "Because of your similarities, you and Izukie's DNA has merged and it's rapidly going to begin merging your memories and hers. In a sense, it's like she will be back from the dead, but you two will be sharing a single body, mind and existence."
"Oh… shit…" I said, nearly falling to my knees but landing on another chair that was behind me. Looking around, I realized this was new… "This is… that house. Her house." I said, looking around. It was all fairly normal, nice… and familiar. "Will I… still be me?"
"My guess, yes and no. In this reality exists fusions, a being made of two or more people into a single being of a combined mind, body and soul in some cases. Seeing as this is just the quirk, genetics and memories unless you pull her soul from the Afterlife to join in yours, you'll largely still be you, just yours and her memories and experiences will combine. Two different lives, one single person."
"This is kind of why we mentioned not using your quirk or seeing her too soon, cause we were trying to figure out how her DNA and memories would mesh with your's…but sadly you decided to take it out for a test run when we weren't ready." Jaaku explained with a frown. "But now that the cat's out of the bag…well, currently Baylee is wondering why you're both passed out and look like a hermaphrodite right now…and we're going to be sifting through a lot of memories."
"That's actually not correct. Izuku would likely resemble Izukie in form and gender, so purely a female. This likely aged them physically some years as well." One for All corrected.
"What?! Can I change back?!" I asked.
"Well, yes but odds are the age thing will be permanent, as for the gender thing… not until all of Izukie and your memories merge and stabilize. So you will have to be a woman for however long this lasts."
"Crap…" I sighed. Honestly my acrobatics training and such made being a female not too awkward for me, but being one for this long… however long this will be… "The sad part is I know Delilah is going to enjoy this…"
"She will." Jaaku nodded. "But of course a lot of things just had to happen…right in the middle of a dungeon as well so there's that bad thing." Jaaku sighed out. "So, we've got to deal with this sudden rush of memories from someone who know's how old…probably also learning thing's we're probably not supposed to know…this is gonna be a hassle and a half that's for sure."
"We can steady the flow of the memories. For the most part childhood and such are similar enough, but as her memories go on and the differences become more and more clear, your personalities will also blend into one another. Both are also, fairly similar save for a few key differences." One for All said.
"Differences like?" I asked.
"She is more bold, confident in battle and in life in general."
"Yeah, she's…very confident." Jaaku said. "Like…damn."
"I guess I'll have to deal with it as it happens… but I don't think I should tell Katsuki this. At least, not yet. She's got enough on her plate and this will just be a major weight she doesn't need."
"Only problem is, how the hell are we going to explain how you're now a sexy lady who looks identical to her best friend that died ?" Jaaku asked. "And how the hell is Baylee not going to say something when she's probably panicking over you passing out for no reason?"
"Tell them a half truth." One for All said. "This is a reaction from Izukie's quirk, your DNA was similar enough to cause a reaction from your body, and since it was given to you over being copied, the similar DNA affected you by turning you physically into the prior owner. We just leave out the mental side til after it's completed safely."
"Is that even a common thing or a thing at all in this world?" I asked.
"We can call it an unexpected side effect given your body is more used to Copy Cat's work over given Abilities."
"We're literally trying to lie to a Time Walker." Jaaku pointed out. "And also our adoptive mom."
"True, but think about it, if she did know this little detail, then why didn't she give us a vague warning? Either she has a better poker face than expected, or this is a new development." One for All said.
"New Development?" I asked.
"She did say our future was accelerated, events put into motion sooner than they were meant to. It's not too much of a stretch to believe this event is completely new."
"Well…that is true." Jaaku hummed. "But wouldn't she have noticed the moment she handed us Izukie's quirk?"
"If she did, she showed no reaction. I'm willing to bet how Time Walkers view the future is less like a spontaneous vision and more meditation. Given the paperwork she's doing I doubt she'll have the time or even want to check on the future so long as everything goes smoothly." One for All stated.
"You are… oddly deceptive for being the 'Good Guy' power." I stated.
"Good, bad, both can be manipulative, calculating and secretive. Those are traits both good and evil can weild." They shrugged.
"Also because he doesn't get out much." Jaaku brought up. "Unlike me where I'm your suppressed emotions and feelings, One for All on the other hand…"
"Alright… so, how do I wake up?" I asked.
"Should come too in a few more moments." One for All said.
I did come too back in the physical world after a few more moments. Looking myself over my body was the same as it was in my Mental Realm. So, this is Izukie Mydoria's body...
"Are you okay Izuku?" Baylee asked worriedly. "Also…why are you a woman?"
I blushed a bit, feeling my clothes were now… kinda tight… "Turns out, my DNA is very similar to Izukie, Katsuki's friend who had this quirk before me. That plus my body being used to how Copy Cat works ended up messing with me when I tried using the Quirk. My… mental selves say it will be a while before I can swap back to being male, but my… new physical age can't be reversed. At least not in a way they/I know of." I said.
"That's…really weird." She frowned. "I…don't think Copy Cat's supposed to work that way…how did you get her quirk?" Baylee asked, not knowing much about my situation and looking very confused.
"After mastering Pyrokinesis magic, Katsuki gave me the quirk. She was testing and training me to acquire it from day one basically. Copy Cat was a surprise." I said, standing up.
Riiip!
"Umm… You don't happen to have some spare clothes do you?" I asked, trying to keep my now torn pants and shirt up. It was really embarrassing. I've been… nude as a female before, but this adult body is way more… developed than the one I'm used to.
Baylee blushed at the sight of me almost naked. "Uh, yes…yes I do." She nodded, digging through her assistant to get me clothes. 'Thankfully I keep spares in case of…wardrobe malfunctions during hunting or foraging."
"Thanks…" I said, taking them and quickly putting them on. The clothes were a bit big, but thankfully they fit well enough. "I guess we should finish the dungeon then head home… I'll have to face the music sooner or later…" I sighed, already imagining all the dresses, underwear and lingerie Delilah and maybe Sonya would want me to try on...
"It'll certainly be an event when Delilah see's you like this." Baylee said honestly.
I nodded, trying not to think about how… different, this body was from my normal female form. For one, I was a bit taller, maybe a few inches so. My… hips were oddly large, and my chest was… well, I don't know if Delilah will be jealous or happy I'm about a size bigger than her on a guess… Despite the frame, I could feel how strong and tone this body was by walking and moving. Muscles hiding unseen power.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel so much stronger in this body.
"Well...you do look very beautiful." Baylee complimented.
I blushed, not expecting that complement. It felt… weird. I was happy about getting a complement, but also rather embarrassed about it. "Heh… thanks?" I said.
Thankfully I was able to distract myself with some more monsters. Almost on instinct I used Pyrokinesis and quicker than I ever expected, dealt with all the monsters in this room. Woah…
I looked my hand over… using this Quirk… it's not to me… but not Izukie… she was born and mastered this quirk, and with her body all those instincts and training are ingrained into her muscle memory… my muscle memory. Our muscle memory? I shook the thought away. If One for All is right and I am gonna merge with her into a strange single being type deal… stuff like this I'll just have to get used to.
"You okay there?" Baylee asked carefully. "I can only guess what fusion you're going through, but sometimes it's hard to take in all at once."
"I just feel… stronger. I've only used Pyrokinesis once before, and now that I end up like this, it feels like I've used and had it all my life. I wasn't expecting it." I said. "Not to mention, despite the… frame I now have, I can feel like these muscles are way stronger than they look on the surface."
"You'll have to talk to Katsuki about that, but you do look...rather toned for being a bit plump."
"Plump?" I asked, confused. "I don't think this body is overweight?"
"I'm not talking about weight, I'm talking about proportions." She amended. "Your hips, butt and bust."
I blushed. "I uh… don't know how to respond to that." I admitted.
After that awkward moment we continued on. Thankfully my control over my magic and other quirks is unaffected. They work as normal and don't seem to be causing problems and my controle over then is no different than before.
In no time at all we eventually made it to the final floor. The boss of this dungeon is a giant plant monster that grows smaller monsters that pop off of him to attack us.
The battle was actually not that exciting. Baylee handles the lesser monsters with ease and I two shot the monster boss. Our rewards were a whole lot of veggies, fruits, herbs, two thousand rem and a few farming tool that will come in handy back home.
With that done, we went home.
Delilah was… surprised, and excited. I told her, Sonya, Todoroki and Rin about this, leaving out my mental memory merging for now.
"Well, this is certainly a change." Rin said.
"A great change." Delilah purred happily.
"This can't be a coincidence…" Todoroki said carefully.
"We need to give you a makeover." Sonya said readily, which all the others nodded in agreement.
"The age factor is irreversible, as far as I can guess. I'm aged to maturity so, yeah. The gender thing though, One for All says I should be able to shift back to male after a while. How long that is though is unknown… all I do know is that I'd rather Katsuki not see me like this. She has a lot on her plate running Candlelight now that it's largely built. This would just be extra weight she doesn't need." I said with a sigh.
"We understand." Todoroki nodded.
"And when she sees you like this before you figure out how to change your gender?" Delilah asked carefully.
"I'm hoping it won't come to that. You've seen how much paperwork she gets daily, but if it does I'll tell her then and there…" I sighed. "I just don't want to stress her out more. She's done so much for me, and seeing me like this might… trigger something in her. Her best friend, Izukie, died so long ago and now I somehow end up with her body after using her quirk for the first time? How would she even handle that?"
"She either already knew this would happen, or flip out that you can...probably do something thought impossible…" Delilah said carefully.
"Jaaku thought the same, but One for All said that if she did know, she would have given a vague warning, or something Time Walkers normally do, but she didn't. He said that given our timeline is already accelerated, odds are this might be a whole new event she didn't see the first time."
"That's fair." Rin nodded. "Even if Time Walkers know way too much, their not Omniscient, that's one of the few things the Family have gone on record saying it's not as good as people think."
"Thanks for helping me keep this under her radar. So… I'm assuming Sonya is back with a lot of dresses and such?" I asked, Sonya carrying a large case that, when she opened it, indeed have various clothes and outfits.
"We're going to be here for a while." Sonya said with a giddy grin.
"It's makeover time!" Rin cheered happily.
I didn't even try to fight it, letting them dress and doll me up til late and I was finally able to get some sleep, but before that, shower. This make-up stuff feels weird.
I was used to showering as a female since it was part of my training, to not be so awkward, so I was used to cleaning the… areas. I was just enjoying the water when-
"Ouch!"
I turned, instinctively covering as I spotted a robe wearing Delilah at the curtains. "Delilah? Why are you here?"
"I was hoping to shower with you and feel you up, but the water is scolding!"
"What?" I asked, looking a the dial for the water. Huh… it's all the way to hot. Weird, I don't feel it that hot. "Huh, must be an effect of Pyrokinesis I was unaware of." I muttered in thought. "Wait you were gonna what?!"
"Exactly what I said, feel you up and get a knowledge on what sizes you are." She said. "Also to feel you up."
I face palmed, not sure if I should let her and regret it or if I will enjoy it. Both honestly worry me. I mean, this body is mine but also not… plus I've never really been… as a female…
With a sigh, I turned the knob to make the water less hot. "Get in…"
"Yay!" She cheered as she hopped in like an excited cat, snaking her hands across my body. "Damn, you weren't kidding when you said you felt toned and strong." Delilah said in surprise.
"I know huh… well, I resign myself to my fate… I'll have to be more intimate sooner or later, and given what's happened to me… something tell me sooner is the more likely option." I said, giving Delilah a kiss and taking a small bit of pride in the fact I'm now taller than her, and that me kissing her has mad her tail wag like a dog.
I understand a lot about why the girls want me to be more physically intimate now. That was… different. Pleasant, enjoyable, and new. It was all that as a male too, hmm… maybe I can swap between every so often? When I can I mean… wow, I think that's my first genuinely perverted thought ever. Tomura would be proud.
Seeing as I'm trying to keep a low profile from Katsuki, I spent my time in the Pocket Village we all live in. I helped start up a farm and make a well for us to use with the farm. Finding and catching wild animals and putting them into pens I made using Overhaul was easy thanks to Warp. I found different and useful ways to use all the quirks in a more practical sense.
The tricky part was finding raw ores for metals and such. Despite geographically being identical to earth back home, it's underground resources we're not in the same places.
Still, if I wasn't working on our now fair sized farm I was practicing and training and when not that, I was on some at home dates.
I breathed a deep sigh as I finished planting some more of the apple trees we found growing wild and decided to move to our farm. "Can't believe it's been over a month since I've been stuck like this…" I sighed, still stuck as my adult female form. I was actually scary used to it now, and with the memories coming in…
They started as simple Childhood memories, similar to my own but also completely different. Right now in the mental slide show of memories pouring into my mind is Izukie's UA days. Weird to see everyone else in Katsuki's world gender swapped, but also kinda funny.
"So far, everything seems to be going along with the anime, just instead of having One for All she has her Pyrokinesis and a fuck ton of bullying." Jaaku said, which was strangely correct now that I thought about it.
"Yeah, but where my bullying was because I was quirkless, hers was because people thought her quirk was dangerous… which is fair, she did set the kindergarten bathroom on fire… and a few other incidents." I chuckled. A few memories of the bathroom fire, bedroom carpet and a few others ran through my head. The more memories came the more I did feel like, part of me is Izukie, but I'm also still me, Izuku. "At the rate this merging is going I'm gonna consider just going by Mydoria to save the trouble…"
"That's far." Jaaku nodded. "Fire Quirk's were always a bit spotty with how people reacted…but would you believe me if I said that all the Genderbent version of the UA classmates were about what I expected?" Jaaku pointed out.
"Thanks to the memories they aren't surprising or anything, just… funny, but familiar." I said as I began working on the next row for crops. Overhaul was great as making the ground farm ready. The same as the rest, a twenty by ten foot field, in an instant went from slightly rocky grassland to a tiled patch of ground ready to be farmed. "I'm thinking I might just swap between male and female forms regularly…. Partly because to be… intimate with girls and… apparently some guys I didn't know I had…" Wish Delilah gave me that knees before this gender swap stuff… "And because I bet once my and Izukie's memories are fully merged I can live comfortably as either."
"You can always be both genders if you don't want the hassle of hopping between the two." Jaaku said honestly. "Plus…yeah you were pretty horny and forward with some of them."
I blushed, but tried to shake it off. "I was gonna have to be more physically intimate with them anyway… but being both just sounds kinda weird, and it's not really a hassle to swap between thanks to Copy Cat and all those race profile slots also counting for genders too." I said, using Warp to spread the seeds of these Watermelons across the whole field in one go.
"Hmm, fair." Jaaku shrugged. "But sooner or later we're going to have to tell Katsuki, we can't keep this up forever and she'll be super pissed if we try and say 'we didn't want to make you worry more than you already do'." Jaaku explained.
"I know…" I said with a sigh. "I was hoping I'd be back to normal by now, but that's clearly not happening… I'm just not sure how to go about this… how I am now it's like a living echo of her best friend…"
"Listen, there's already something going on cause even Delilah, in her horny addled mind, has been giving you side long glances, like she knows there's something more than what we're talking about." Jaaku brought up. "We just…need to talk to her about this, figure out what's going on…and also why Izukie's first reaction was to call out for Katsuki and whoever the hell this Three person is." Jaaku said.
"I was wondering about that too. So far there's been no mention of a Three in her memories so far… must be someone she met later in life."
"Yeah, it was probably during the time Katsuki became a Time Walker or something." Jaaku pointed out.
"Probably." I nodded.
I finished up planting and watering this field and headed back inside, resting on the couch. This was peaceful…
My lungs burned. The stench of rotting, charred and fresh gore was all I could smell. My legs felt like two tons of lead weights. My arms would barely move, yet I kept moving. Wherever I was, all that remains here was the carnage and rubble this war brought on. "Fucking had to crash land…" I groaned, spitting at the ground. Some blood was mixed in with the spit. "Christ… Three, Katsuki, when I get back you two owe me a spa day and I expect Three to give me a happy ending." I huffed as I walked through the battleground.
An explosion somewhere nearby drew my eyes. Nexus soldiers? "Fucking worse than roaches…" I growled, hatred fueling my movements as I set fire to my maw and flowed the flames out.
Dragon's Roar.
I screamed out, my flames shooting out faster than possible for a normal fire breather. It impacted the Nexus group like a missile, setting their armor ablaze and cooking the wearers alive inside, melting slag eating them from their feet up.
I smirked. "Best get moving. Was kinda dumb to give myself away like that." I breathed, walking further down my path. There should be a cache nearby. Healing supplies, stamina potions, I'll even take a beer if it's there.
A painfully long time later, I arrived at the cache, it was once some transport ship, now melted into the endless battleground of planets and warships caught up in this battle.
Walking inside the old carrier ship, I spotted one of our supply caches, smiling as I forced it open and took a vial of some advanced healing medicine I can't pronounce and injected it into me. My wounds and bruises closed and healed in seconds, letting me enjoy a cool wave of relief as I sat down taking out a bottle of glowing green liquid.
If you told me magic, the multiverse and aliens and crap was all real five years ago, I'd have been concerned for your mental health. "At least these potions don't taste bad." I said, downing the slightly minty stamina potion as I began to feel myself re energized. "So much better…" I sighed, putting the bottle down and looking at my left hand. Removing the glove showed me a gold ring with a single diamond. I smiled at it, giving it a gentle kiss before putting the glove back on my hand. "When this is over, we can finally just be with each other Three." I said, missing home a lot. I hope everyone is doing alright. It's was bad enough when Mrs. Aizawa died… heh, Even after graduation, I can't call her anything less than that.
I finished the last of my potion, closing up the cache case for the next person who gets stuck in this part of the battlefield and headed out.
"Fuck…" I frowned as I saw hundreds more Nexus Soldiers and their monstrosities surrounding me. I sighed. "Well, I guess that was my break." I said, cracking my knuckles as I let the fire run from my maw almost like lava, the heat turning all the nearby metal around red. "Bring it!" I yelled.
They all raised their weapons and charged. I just smiled.
Atomic Blaze.
Death came quick to all around me, and those not killed by my flames would wish they were as they died from the pain of melting alive.
"I am Izukie Mydoria! Tenth Commander of the Mother's Daughters! And you can never kill me!" I shouted, as my green flames burned on and on.
I woke up with a jump, falling off the couch and trying to catch my breath.
… That was… Her power… My… Power...
"We…couldn't stop that from showing up…" Jaaku said to me, which when I looked up even Jaaku looked extremely stressed by it. "Her power…her memories…" Jaaku gulped. "We need to talk to Katsuki about this…that was…"
"Horrifying…" I said, nodding.
I took a deep sigh and used Warp to get to her office.
"Ahh!" Katsuki yelped. "Jesus, give me a little warning next time will ya Ku-" Her words died on her lips once she saw me.
"Hey… it's… Izuku…" I said, rubbing my arms… Katsuki stared at me, for a long time. "So… turns out… I share a lot of my DNA with Izukie and-"
I was surprised when, before I was even able to blink, Katsuki was hugging me, tightly. And all too quickly, for the first time I heard her cry.
That moment lasted a long time, maybe an hour or more. Sun was down and the office lights were on. She sat across from me at her desk.
"So…" Katsuki took a deep breath, wiping away some residual tears. "When…when were you going to tell me?"
"... Honestly, I'm not all that sure. I kept telling myself when it was able for me to swap back between make and female forms again but… it's been a month and that hasn't happened yet… then… that… memory…" I sighed.
"I'm going to excuse the fact that you hid this…very important thing from me for a month." Katsuki said, her stare sending a shiver down my spine as she was a calm kind of pissed with that statement. "But…what was the memory?"
I sighed, telling her about the memory from start to finish. "I know you said she was Powerful, she fought in the war for freedom but… seeing it… feeling it… experiencing it… I had… no idea…" I said, looking up at her.
Katsuki sighed out. "Yeah…the War…it was a very tough time." She sighed out. "And that ring…that was the ring Three gave to her, her husband…"
"Husband. I-we-she was-is married?!" I yelped.
"Yeah…" Katsuki sighed out. "Both her and Three were the cutest couple I knew…too bad…one day it all ended…"
"... How… did she die? I'm going to learn it one way or another with her memories merging with my own."
"She was ambushed, the same group of Time Runner's Three used to run with before he defected and started dating Izukie." Katsuki said honestly.
"Time Runners?"
"Pesky little bastards that are the Time Walkers greatest rival." Katsuki said. "Back in the day, they were Nexus's troops to travel through time to try and fuck with it to suit their needs…I have slaughtered million's of the rat bastards."
"M-Millions?!"
"It was a terrible time…" Katsuki sighed out. "Especially when…" Katsuki took a deep breath, I saw they were struggling to hold in their emotions about the past. "This isn't about me being pissed about those who took her…" She muttered.
"How… close were you two? I've seen some memories but… I haven't seen all of them."
"We…" Katsuki sighed out. "We were like Sisters…even if I wanted to be…more than just the greatest of friends." She said. "But I didn't want to force anything or do something when she didn't seem too interested…plus when she met Three…I couldn't have been any happier to see that girl smile."
"That's… wow…" I said, leaning back and slouching on the chair. "And who is Three exactly?"
"Three is…" Katsuki started. "Three is a very complicated Synthetic being…he used to be a Time Runner working for Nexus, then after I kept him alive…he became the greatest friend I ever had, and the one who married Izukie…but now…" Katsuki sighed out. "He's become bitter and depressed…had a talk with him not too long ago after he was being a bit of a bitch to another Isekai like you…which he then proceeded to spawn SCP's in Candlelight just because he wanted to be his Villain…" She explained. "Three…honestly, if he was here, if he knew you were like this…he'd probably be the happiest man, and the angriest man, in this entire reality, and I've met a lot of happy and angry people in my life." She explained.
"Three's… a villain?" I asked. That…. Hurt, to hear.
"Yep, all because of his vendetta against the Isekai Guilds." Katsuki said. "And…in some cases I can completely agree with it.." She sighed out. "So what do you know about the Isekai Guilds?"
"I only heard about them when Rin showed up. Apparently they're depressing places where Isekai like me hang out and hope."
"Pretty much, you can find three types of people in the Isekai Guilds, people who are happy and out adventuring and using this new life to be better, those that are super depressed that they lost everything in their life and are desperate to find someone else from their world…" Katsuki trailed off. "Then there's the assholes that assault The Family because they think it's their fault that they were brought here when it's pure random chance." Katsuki growled. "And it's those assholes that constantly fuel Chaos Guilds…"
"People like me… working for Chaos Guilds…" I muttered. "... Katsuki, what exactly is happening to me? Has this ever happened before?"
"Yes actually." She nodded. "What would normally happen is you experiencing an Echo, an artificial ghost made of their genetics and memories, but not their soul...you on the other hand are going through an Echo Reincarnation, where you and Izukie are so similar genetics wise that the echo fuses with your soul so easily that, instead of having a mental roommate like other people who have Echo's inside them...you just are them in all but Soul."
"So… I really am… fusing with her…" I said, looking my body over… "And… where is her soul?"
"Her soul is in the Afterlife." Katsuki said. "She...sadly had a true death during the war...and while the Afterlife is a real place, nobody knows where the hell it is or how to get there." Katsuki said honestly. "There's rumors and theories, but nothing concrete."
"... And, if somehow, I found Afterlife, found her soul… and took it into me, what would happen?"
"Then you would make me and Three the happiest people in existence." She said honestly. "Also you'd get an instant spot in The Family for doing the impossible."
"Where would I even start looking?" I asked. The Family are the strongest Heroes… but, to make Katsuki, and even Three happy, make him happy… why am I so driven to making him happy? I don't know him… but… Izukie does… and I'm merging with her… her emotions, desires and drives… are becoming mine too...
"Well, there's two rumor's and one theory that are about the closest to plausible, one rumor says that there's an ancient Undead subtype creature roaming around that can teleport in between the Living World and the Afterlife, the other rumor where Schrodinger's Cat in conjunction with something hyper specific, either a World Event, some ultra powerful item, or a Legendary Skill that hasn't been discovered yet, could take off some of it's limitations and be able to walk amongst the dead while unobserved…then the last theory is it's found in The Empty." She said carefully.
"The Empty?" I asked, confused. That's definitely new.
"The Empty is in the center of Armageddon, a place that's completely blanked out of reality, a truly Empty spot, but inside is…things that literally everyone in Existence should not know about." Katsuki said carefully. "So much so, there's only one being that wasn't part of the Family that didn't immediately go Mad and didn't take too much damage…and there's only been three recorded people who came out of it alive."
"But, if it's not part of existence, how can it be the center of Armageddon, or rather, how can you even get to it?"
"You just know it's there." Katsuki said. "Even standing near it, you know it's there, but not a single map, whether magical, hand written or electronic, will show it's there." She explained. "It's what Schrodinger's Cat used to be, at least with less teleporting and more 'it's there, but it's not'."
"So it's… like, in an ether space. All around but also not directly on the planet itself?"
"Pretty much." She said. "It's the most dangerous place in all of Existence."
"And it's not technically in existence." I said with a chuckle.
"Technically." Katsuki nodded with a smile. "But yeah…you're going to have to figure all that out and a tad fast…cause to be perfectly honest you're extremely lucky you slept through Candlelight being attacked."
"That memory… I was living through what she did. It was… strange. Her thoughts, pain, emotions… I felt them all."
"That tends to happen with Echo Reincarnations, her thoughts and feelings, her experiences and actions will be like you personally experienced them…" Katsuki sighed out. "We have special facilities for Echo's and Echo Reincarnations to make sure everything goes smoothly…cause Echo's can't go Mad due to them not having Soul's."
"Wait, so… when you take someone in for Madness and all that, you turn them into an Echo?"
"Well first, we murder them and give them a True Death." Katsuki said casually. "Then we take their soulless bodies to the special facilities where their DNA and Memories kinda sorta revives them, but they're desperate for a Soul."
"So, they're dead but also not? No soul, just a husk of a body with memories… that's… disturbing…"
"It can be." Katsuki shrugged. "But you get used to it."
"So, aside from them wanting a soul, why do you keep them in that place?"
"Because they're as strong as when they went Mad first of all." Katsuki said. "And Madness tends to have people throw all their limitations out of the way and become a danger to quite a lot of people, but other than that it's both for their own safety and the safety of others."
"I guess that's fair. So, Madness is caused by the soul?"
"Yes, Madness is caused by a myriad of things, one of them being the Erosion of the Soul, the thing keeping you together and what helps you respawn normally." She said honestly. "What normally combat's this erosion is having friends and family, loved ones and special people in your life to keep you sane and not fall for the tantalizing numbness that it offers." She said carefully.
"What causes the erosion? Isn't a soul supposed to be immortal or something?"
"Yes, which is why it's confusing. Souls don't decay, so this erosion is the biggest mystery plaguing the Primary Guilds and The Family since it first started happening."
"So… what happens now?"
"What happens now is I'm going to be personally overseeing your progression through this, because this is a very important thing a Time Walker need's to see, as you need to keep living your life as you want, even if that involves trying to figure out how to bring back the dead."
I nodded. "This feels like a lot happened all at once again…" I sighed.
"A lot did happen all at once." Katsuki said honestly. "God…if Three hear's about this he's gonna flip…"
"Guess I should keep away from them until this is all… sorted out?" I asked.
"Well that'll solely depend on if you accidentally come into contact with another Isekai I'm overseeing." She said simply. "Cause Three has taken a personal vendetta against the new hermaphrodite right now."
"Jaaku suggested I do that but, it sounds kinda weird to be both at the same time."
"Eh, in some cases it's preference, other's it's to not hop between both genders when you don't have enough money to buy the genderswap potions, other's it's because they're so bisexual they will make a public display out of it in the proper places." Katsuki shrugged.
"Right…" I said, blushing a bit. "I… will just stick to swapping between since Copy Cat let me do that normally anyway…"
"That's fair." Katsuki nodded. "So, what do you want to do next?"
"I'll have to face all these memories sooner or later… guess I can ask Jaaku and One for All to let me experience them like that last memory, start to finish and… when it's over I guess… I'll see what to do next."
"That's fair." She nodded. "The more you understand your new memories, emotions and feelings, the better you'll understand a lot more things Izukie and yourself."
"And the person I'll be after the fact." I added. "So, wanna look over me here or should we head back to my house for it?"
"We can do it here if you want." She said simply. "All depends on if you want your many, many girlfriend's to wonder what I'm doing."
"I guess it's best if we do tell them. Alright, let me call them, then… I'll experience through Izukie Mydoria's life and… what happens after happens."
