I quickly took Delilah home before the Saint took me to this Violence BOW factory. Apparently the place was using the same interior expanding magic tech as the house. It was built into a morgue, appropriately enough.
I already saw three guards outside.
"Remember, we are here to raid and save anyone they have imprisoned. Kill all their soldiers and scientists." The Saint said.
"Killing…people…that's not something I thought I would be doing .."
"Well your prison cubes are limited. There's gonna be way too many for you to just contain them all." The Saint said. "Time for you to learn Midoriya, no hero on Armageddon lacks blood on their hands." He said.
In a blink he rushed, I looked over…
The three guards were down. Headless as flesh was torn from flesh so fast, the ripping and tearing sounds came in a mini sonic boom as their bodies hit the ground in a shower of spraying blood that sank into the already fairly blood stained streets.
I swallowed.
"Oh…that's…" I muttered, now super concerned…I…I don't know if I could kill…
I ran past the corpses, The Saint having already kicked the door in.
Inside I was greeted with more of the Saint's work… Mother… There's so much blood.
The hallways was narrow, and it made avoiding stepping over corpses, meat and bone chunks and blood pools impossible. I saw a split in the hall. To the right, more blood leading to BOW Labs, to the left, Armory and Prison.
I went left, finding a huge room full of cages and strange tubes and-
"God damn it…" I turned, seeing… he looked like a goat, human thing… or maybe a ram with pale gray fur. He walked bipedally on hooves, had hands and was maybe barely five feet even. His horns, he had two sets. Two pointed ones on his head, and on the side two rounded ram horns. His ears though we're huge. Easily a foot long each. "First new face I see and it's just some broad. Lame." He was also completely covered in some metal restraint jacket within one of the cages. Even his face was partly covered by it.
"Well you're rude." I frowned.
"And you are not my favorite kind of eye candy. You clearly aren't a guard. Who the hell are you?" They asked.
"I'm Midoriya, and I'm here to get you and any other prisoners out of here."
"Oh, a prison break. I can get behind that." He said, sitting up some now. "Can you get me out of this shit? I'd normally do it myself but whatever these things are made of I can't cut through them."
"Sure." I said, touching the metal and using Overhaul.
The quirk made quick work of the metal, the strange goat/ram animal man stretched now that he was out of that cage. "Ahh, sweet freedom. How I missed it. Fuckers kept me in there for ten whole years."
"And…what have they done to you?" I asked carefully.
"Hm? Eh nothing much. Said I was deadly enough as is and after killing nine guards they got me in that thing." He said.
"And uh…what's your name and what are you race wise?"
"Well, people used to call me Saw, and I'm a Nokori."
Nokori? The Phoenix mentioned them… he doesn't look deadly though… he kinda looks like one of those giant plushies…
"I'm sorry if this sounds rude…but you look more cuddly than murdery…" I said sheepishly. "Like a big plush friend."
"Yeah, personally I think I got the short end of the stick looks wise. That damn doctor promised me deadly power. Got that but I just had to look like a goddamn pillow. To make it worse… Do you have any idea how hard it is to wash blood out of this fur?!" He yelled. "I swear if I find the doc or that birdman I'm hacking them into sashimi!"
Doctor? Birdman?
"Who and who?" I inquired.
"The damn doctor that turned me into this walking plushie! Fucker turned me into this because he wanted to make some new weapons or something, I don't remember the details. All I remember is some cultist shit, some altar, a blinding light, more pain than I ever knew possible, then all this. And that bird man, fuck what was his name… David, that's the bitch… he was the target he sent me after. Fucker has pyromancy like a god and was literally immortal! On top of that he called me a cheap anime reference!"
… What?
"Um…I'm missing some context here."
I flinched as suddenly Saw raised their hand in front of me, and put popped a rapidly spinning buzzsaw- Oh that's why he goes by Saw. "That fucker called me a Chainsaw Man Rip-off."
"Huh…alright, now I know why they call you Saw."
"If that wasn't bad enough after calling me every variation of that insult he could think of, he played the theme song played on a kazoo on loop for hours just to torture me!" Saw said retracting the saw blade back into them. "If I see that ass again I am getting payback!"
"Uh…question, what kind of phoenix does he have?" I asked slowly.
"Fuck if I know! Fire?! What other kind is there?!"
Hmm… he might be from the same world, but he's clearly not as well versed in his own worlds lore if he even is…
"Right…we'll figure it out later, right now we need to get others out of here."
"Why? Pretty sure these others are whack jobs or some kind of monster. Heck I'm fifty fifty if that one is alive." He said, pointing at a tube prison. The being inside looked like a dried husk of a giant. Easy ten feet tall and it's arms and legs were bound in some heavy metal and magic restraints. The tube prison itself was also reinforced by some energy barrier.
"Hmm…well he wouldn't be held in that tube with an energy barrier around it if he was dead."
"Undead then." He huffed. "Can we go now? I haven't seen natural light in a decade."
"Exit is that way." I pointed towards the exit. "And I'm going to be staying to try and rescue as many people as I can."
"... Even that guy?" I turned to where he was pointing, only to be smacked with the butt of a gun and hit the floor.
"Stay down!" The guard ordered. "And you, how the fuck did you get out?!"
Before anything else I activated Warp, appearing above them and slamming down onto them with Harden, knocking them out thankfully it seemed. That was… weaker than expected.
"Boo. No blood, four out of ten." Saw commented dryly.
"I'd rather not kill." I stated bluntly. "Though I'm surprised how…easy that was."
"Ugh, what's the point in fighting if you don't go in for the kill? What, you think this dipshit is gonna be grateful?" Saw asked, walking up to and kicking the unconscious man in the back of the head. "Second he wakes up he'll happily shoot you in your back. Or stab you in your back. Or something to your back. Either way, don't leave loose ends. They're gonna bite you in the ass later and not in the fun way."
"I'm going to prove that a hero doesn't need blood on their hands." I frowned.
"... That is probably the most… Ugh you even called yourself a hero… that's cringe…"
"You're cringe."
"I just had to get rescued by the one broad on this planet with a hero complex and a no kill policy…" He hissed, pinching the bridge of his nose… muzzle?
"I mean, you're the one making yourself sound cringe as shit that's not my problem." I stated simply, seeing him look up to me with a pout…come on, he looks so cute! "Well, before you start running out, can you tell me where the other prisoners are?"
"What do you mean like me? Most were carted off to the lab a while ago." Alright so The Saint should be freeing them. "And I think they took some kid down into the armory a little bit ago." At that moment, the guard began to stir. Before I could react, Saw kicked them in the head again, a spinning saw blade shot from their hooved foot and sliced the guards head open. I was immediately showered in blood and gray matter. "What? He was waking up." Saw said, retracting their blades.
"Just…" I sighed, rubbing my temple. "Get out of here, I have people to save." I said, looking over the tube again and wondering if I should…
"Hmm… I would, but also I'd like some answers first." Saw said, crossing their arms.
"Well, what questions do you have?" I asked, deciding to skip past the being as it kind of…gave me bad feelings the more I looked at it and moved on.
"Firstly… where in the fuck am I?" He asked. "Cause last thing I remember before waking up in this place was wandering around some post apocalyptic looking city covered in flesh, and before that, if I counted right, was looking around for sixty years wondering how the hell I got there when I was in a prison cell back in Leto… also I should be eighty now but I still look twenty, not that I'm complaining considering how Nokori normally age but still, where and how and what the fuck is even going on?"
So he is Isekai.
"Alright, so first, you are an Isekai," I immediately heard him groan at that. "This world we are on is called Armageddon, where every end of the world scenario is neatly bunched up onto one infinite sized planet…and this place is owned by a Chaos Guild known as Violence…which you probably gathered with what they said about you and how you murdered nine guards."
"Agh… also, ten now. Well, any idea how I got here?"
"No idea." I said honestly. "I didn't even know Isekai could be dropped onto this world…which really sucks." I shook my head.
"Meh. Beats sitting in prison." He shrugged. "Hmm… so, Isekai trope… how original… so, what about you miss green bean? You born here or you showed up here like me because for some reason that name of yours rang some bells but I can not remember."
"I'm also an Isekai, and me being both genders is due to…strange circumstances that happened in this world." I said honestly
"Both genders? You mean you actually have a cock between those legs? Huh… nah, still not interested…"
"Any other questions?" I asked carefully.
"What's with your hero complex, no killing thing? If this planet is as you say, wouldn't that just hinder you in the long run?"
"Because nothing would change, it would just be another cycle of nonsense that people are desensitized to and nothing can or will get better. My 'hero complex' is that, where I came from originally, people had Quirks and could become heroes…well, I'm here now, with powerful Quirks and I'm going to do some hero work." I answered. "This place is filled with barely any hope, barely any common decency, and it all around needs something to make everyone believe things can get better than just wondering if tomorrow is the last day."
"Pst. You sound just like those Nokori Agency bleeding hearts." He chuckled. "Sure got their tune changed when the news and wars started breaking out though."
Wars?
"The hell happened in your world?"
"Well, I was in prison so most of this is from what little TV time I was given and overhearing guard conversations, but apparently there were way more Labs like the one that originally created Nokori. Kidnapping people off the streets and out of their own beds. Whole global panic. When these Labs were found and their test subjects, now Nokori, were freed, it was the same everywhere as it was in Leto when they were freed there after the police raids. Bigotry, hatred, cults, religious nuts wanting to kill them all for no longer being human, the usual. Whole country ties were thrown into civil wars, others managed, some just deported their Nokori populations to other places to keep the human population happy. Others… took the Adolf Hitler approach. Last I heard before coming here, North Korea was glassed by the bird man David personally. Heh. Hard to believe I fought that asshole and lived."
"Kind of sounds like the Dawn Wars…" I said sadly. "When Quirks first started to crop up around the world, it started with 'wow, Super Powers are real'...then it devolved into insanity that lasted a long time…" I shook my head.
"And let me guess, til you left people were still killing one another? Over their quirks or if they even had them?" Saw asked, sighing. "Your ideologies exist purely in fiction. So long as people have two conflicting ways of thinking, viewing the world and people, blood will always be spilled. It's a fact of nature."
"There was only Humerizer and the Anti-Mutant Coalition that tried to do those things but they are always swiftly stopped." I brought up. "But see, that's where you're wrong…because that kind of thinking is what makes it fiction, that people can't be good for good sake, that everyone is just some disillusioned mass murdered just needing an excuse…that's not reality, that's just insanity, and I'm here to prove otherwise." I told him.
"..." Saw looked me in the eyes. He then smirked. "Is that why you did it?"
"Did what?"
"Try and kill yourself?" He asked, making me step back. "I can see it in your eyes. You got real low before coming here, didn't you? This place saved you, so you think you owe it your best. Pst- Ha!"
"Says the guy who's getting real low over a fucking reference." I countered simply.
"Petty, maybe, but I ain't suicidal over it. No, I'm angry. It kept me going through the confusion and the chaos of my arrival. The capture and imprisonment I spent here. See, I know what I'm fighting for. Heading towards a reunion with bird man David and that scientist. A fight I want to win this time. I know what I want. You? You say you want to be a hero, to not kill and make a difference, but what difference? What kind of hero? You keep saying hero but do you even know if that is what you really want? Or is it what you're clinging onto from childish dreams? Do you want to be a hero that people will smile at seeing? That evil quakes in fear at? Pst, look around kid. This planet is where heroes like that come to die. Or worse, been here enough to know there is indeed worse than death. You want to be a hero but you don't even know where to start or how, hell you didn't even have it in you to kill someone who would have blasted your head open. You don't heal a sick tree by leaving the rotting branches. You cut them off, and then maybe something good, healthy can grow in its place. Yet you can't even reach the branch."
I frowned, looking at Saw… what kind of hero… do I want to be? Part of me still wanted to be like All Might but… is that enough? Be like Izukie who fought in The War and died… what… am I supposed to do?
"I'm not a Soldier like Izukie, who had to make tough choices…I'm not All Might…" I shook my head, no…I did this…I'm doing this, because someone has to. "I don't want to kill…this world does need a hero that can bring hope to what is otherwise a hopeless world, cause if I'm a 'hero' that kills, then what makes me better than these assholes?" I asked, motioning around. "Morals? Not really when I'm killing people because they're not doing what I say or want. Sure I'm not doing this horrible experimentation…but I'm still killing others because 'it's what I have to do'..."
"Not like you got many options. Kill them they just what, respawn and kill again? Heard one of them say something like that once. Don't, then what? Then you have an angry, dangerous person sitting in a cell with nothing but time to think and dive deeper into their own rage and over time become more depraved. And don't psycho analyze what I said and try and use it on me."
"But it's so easy to." I said honestly, finding another guard seeing us, but I used Levitation to smack the guy upside the head with a brick and he fell over unconscious.
At the same time, a saw blade flew through the air… and hit the unconscious guard in the neck. He can launch them?! "My point is, there will come a time, probably several, where your only options are to kill or to die. If you can't make the obvious choice then you are no hero."
I frowned. "Well that time isn't now." I frowned. "Cause these are just random grunts that could be captured, not murdered."
"Maybe." He shrugged. "But why risk it?" He said, walking down towards a doorway that wasn't the exit.
"It's better to try than to just assume the worst in everything." I retorted.
He opened the door and I followed him. Why… I don't know. "You clearly haven't seen just how fucked people can be if you believe that." He said as we walked down some stairs.
"So it's better to just beat someone to death because of paranoia because they might be a terrible person?"
"Speaking from personal experience. Yes." He said. We arrived at another door where it was locked. He used those retractable saw blades and opened in. Inside was…
There was a lot of cages. A lot of blood. Laid on a table with stitches all across their body was a young… child. They looked maybe five and were somehow breathing on their own. "So this is where they took them… huh." Saw said as he looked around.
I ran over to the child in a panic, looking over the poor kid just…covered in all this blood and stitches. "Can you hear me?" I asked the child worriedly, wondering how in the hell they were still breathing but so thankful they were breathing.
There was no response. The kid looked human. Male and pale skin tone. Their head was shaved entirely.
"Let's see…" I heard Saw say. "Ah, here it is." He said, picking up a folder on a far off table. "Let's see here… blah, blah, blah, big words, big words, ah, here we are. Subject prep for new surgery underway." He read aloud. "Subject is male, human, age seven, found on the Greed Market. Sold off as collateral. Subject surgery for Infusion surgery test to infuse multiple native beasts and magics into the body itself." He stopped. "Damn. Kid can almost be considered a cousin of Nokori then."
"We need to get him to a proper doctor, cause I don't know if Overhaul could help with this…" I said carefully, wishing I could be able to tap into however much power OFA and Jaku talked about way long ago.
"I doubt that will help." He said, tossing the file aside and walking over to another door. He stopped just before opening it. "Well… that's unfortunate…"
"Oh what now?" I asked.
"You don't smell it over there?" He asked, looking at me with a raised brow. "Well… this is gonna suck then." He said, opening the door.
The stench hit me. My body naturally began to gag, bile filling my throat I forced back down. I'd smelled it often in the streets. But never this concentrated or fresh. The smell of rott, decay and decomposing flesh. Inside that room I could see bodies. All decayed and covered in stitches that were popping off as they rotted away. They were all kinds of species, ages, genders, all left to rot in there.
The unsuccessful…
Saw closed the door, coughing as they covered their nose. "That's foul… what mad doctor keeps corpses? At least the Y Labs freaks turned their dead into the Stalkers…"
"Cause they were Unsuccessful…" I answered. "The ones that didn't survive…that could do nothing…" I muttered. "Even in death they failed…" I shook my head. "Let's see if anyone is…miraculously alive…" I said carefully, knowing rot and decay doesn't truly stop half the time.
"Yeah… I'm not going in there…"
"Then how are you going to face off against David if you can't handle a few rotting corpses?" I asked him, walking into the room as I believed either some undead was weakly hanging on or some sapient fungus/mold was hiding among the bodies needing some help to get out of this hell hole.
"... You're nuts… I have some newfound respect for you now." Saw said. "A little. Like, a teaspoon's worth." He laughed.
"It's a start…" I muttered, looking around the corpse room for something, anything that might be someone hiding amongst the bodies in some form of hope to be able to escape. "Anyone in here?"
Despite my efforts… there was nothing. At least none of them had their Assistant mark on them. I know that means they respawned, though I don't know if that's any better or not…
With that done I… washed off the… bits that clung to me then went back to the kid who was still sleeping.
"So Misod… fuck what's your name again?" Saw asked.
"Midoriya." I answered. "Just Midoriya."
"Right, anyway, so how'd you end up in a place like this?"
"I was kidnapped by an insane person who was leading 'Immigration'." I frowned. "Here specifically, I'm training under the Saint of Armageddon and this was something I have to learn about and deal with…"
"... I understood half of that."
"Which half?" I asked.
"The first half."
"Right, so the second half is just me training under one of the strongest people on this planet to be better and fight against these people."
"Right… and you were gonna do that… non lethally?"
"He wants me to be lethal, but I'm trying not to." I frowned. "Death should be a last option, cause killing is easy, subduing, while harder, shows I'm stronger and capable of handling anything they throw at me."
"... And you think they'll be… proud of that or something?"
"I doubt it, given he probably wants me to kill people…" I sighed.
"... So your goal is to kill no one, somehow save people, somehow keep these heavily armed and uncaring killers bound, and not expect them to come back to take revenge on you later for raiding their base and trying to imprison them?"
"Better than killing them so they can disappear to God knows where and get the resources necessary to make my life worse."
Saw put their hands over their face. I then heard a muffled scream. "You are just… so fucking- duck!" He yelped.
I used warp rapidly, appearing next to him as I dodged a swipe from that giant corpse thing. It was out somehow… guards might have let it out. "Human…" I heard it speak, like a faint whisper yet it was audible from… everywhere. "Always… more…"
"Well, it can move… and talk apparently." Saw said, bringing out several of their blades along his arms.
"Who are you, and what do you mean 'always more'?" I asked the giant, even though I got into my stance and was ready for the fight.
"Humans… always more… why can't you all ju-" A saw blade was launched into it's head, knocking it back as pitch black ichor bled from the wound. It reached up, it's boney fingers cracking with every movement and pulled the blade out of it's skull.
"You seriously asked the monster a question?" Saw said, rushed over, grabbing the kid. I followed as we ran back to the cages.
"It's sapient, it can talk, I asked a simple question but magically I'm in the wrong!" I snapped. "I killed a sapient being thinking it was just another monster, not again."
"Yeah well I doubt that thing wants to chit chat-"
"HUMANS!"
The screech school the whole room, knocking over cages and I felt my ears explode from the frequency. Thankfully my new Mortal Sun ability healed that instantly.
Saw was less lucky, gritting teeth as he held onto the kid with bleeding ears. "Fuck that hurt…" They growled.
"And this is why I asked first instead of attacking dumbass!" I snapped. "Crap, I need to get the kid to a doctor fast…" I thought to myself worriedly, using Overhaul on a wall and trying to create a wall so the giant would either have a harder time getting to us or just stopping his charge as we kept running.
"If you're talking I can't hear you, my ears have been fucked unwillingly!" Saw yelled, whether from anger or out of their inability to hear I wasn't sure… probably both.
I grabbed the kid once I finished the wall, immediately a hard thud hit it as it cracked. Shit.
I pulled Saw alone and ran for the hallway. Once we were past the bodies and outside I stopped, grabbing a healing potion, one of my stronger ones and gave it to Saw, who after seeing it was a potion chugged it instantly. "Agh! That pop… ouch…" They groaned, rubbing their ears a bit. "Thanks for the potion."
"No problem." I said, giving a little bit of the potion to the kid and seeing him subconsciously swallow it. "This bites…"
"So this is the outside?" Saw said as he looked around The Nightmare. It was still daylight, thankfully. "Gotta say… I don't know what I was expecting… better than wherever I was before with everything being all… flesh…"
"Well, this is Gothic England if Eldritch horrors wanted to take up residence."
"Right… how big is this place anyway?"
"Yes."
"Yes?"
"There is… a lot you don't know." I sighed.
"Clearly."
"So…where do you want to start in learning this absolute mess?" I inquired.
"Not a clue. All I do know is that I want some real food, if I can find it, touch grass for the first time in years, and hopefully get laid with a decent looking guy."
"I can do two of those things." I nodded. "When we head back to my place, it has an entire world in it with all the grass you can touch, decent food and…well, maybe there's someone you'll like from the town that just moved into my place."
"I'm not even gonna ask how that is possible because I do not care." Saw huffed. "But, cool."
"I see you found some survivors." I looked over, seeing The Saint walk out of the place.
"Woah… that's your teacher? Huh… I'd smash."
I nearly fell over at hearing that.
"Can we not talk about you getting plowed by my teacher."
The Saint chuckled. "Flattered, but not interested. I can tell you didn't complete your assignment." He said, looking at me. Well, facing me. His mask makes that a bit hard to tell exactly where he is looking. "What happened?"
"Well, currently I saved both him and this child." I said, still holding the young five year old and pointing my head towards Saw.. "Then we uh…got forced out by a Giant Undead that the Buzzsaw Devil here decided to piss off and made us run." I answered readily.
"Oh don't you start that…" Saw growled.
"Ah, yes. The Dying God. I finished it off before arriving." The Saint said.
Wait, Dying God?!
"That was an ugly god." Saw said.
"Hold up what!? Dying God?" I asked in surprise and shock.
"Yes." The Saint nodded. "A unique type of creature. They are said to have once been gods in both power and might, but the race they created would either turn or show them horrors beyond their worst nightmares. As gods that created life they can not die unless their creation is erased. This god in particular was the Dying God of Humans."
"Ah. That explains his whole thing with 'always humans' 'always more'." Saw said. "So, it's dead now?"
"Yes. In whatever place it came from it would have been immortal, so long as even the memory of humans was alive, or equivalent, but here, it is difficult but not impossible to kill."
"I like you more than Greenie here." Saw said.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever." I frowned.
"That being said, can you explain to me why you were only incapacitating guards?" The Saint asked me.
"Because killing people is easy and it would start me down a road to being no better than these assholes." I frowned. "Where one death by my hands is tragic…dozen's, hundreds, thousands…it becomes a statistic that would ultimately be just 'well, they got in my way so their free trial of life has expired'."
"Even though they will respawn elsewhere?" The Saint asked, less of a question as they sighed, crossing their arms and looking down. "Tell me, Midoriya, do you think me weak for killing, for taking the 'easy' option?"
I shook my head. "I don't think you're weak for killing…you've been at this longer than me, longer than most probably…you do what you believe you have to, that's not weak." I shook my head.
"Then what is it, in your eyes? To me, it's a repellent." He said. "We remember our deaths Midoriya, and the pain. A painful death strikes fear that haunts our enemies. Do to them what they do to others. Or rather, an Eye for an Eye, as they say. While I can not say I understand or approve of this path you've chosen to walk, and on Armageddon of all places, but as your teacher, I will help you make it easier to travel."
I sighed. "I know sir…" I scratched my head. "Just…there's too much Death, there's too much fighting between survivor's on this world…there's just too much, and I want to at least try to give people hope that thing's can be better, that more murder isn't the solution when all it's been doing is driving people mad or into the arms of more depraved people…I know…" I shook my head. "I know one day I might have to kill…but with the random grunt's I met…they fell over easily, they felt more like they were doing their nine to five than being an actual threat, even outside of me being immortal."
The Saint sighed. "There are other means, aside the prison cubes, to imprison one long term. Alternatively, there are Abilities to… remove memories."
"There are?" I inquired.
"Yes. If you acquire the memory erasure abilities through the dark skill tree, then the erased memories can never be recovered."
"Right…" I said carefully, the Dark Skill tree…something I didn't work on and I really didn't want to work on.
"You aren't exactly giving yourself many options on this path Midoriya. At least this branch of the Dark Skill Tree is arguably the least horrid of them."
"No idea what you two are talking about." Saw said.
"It's complicated." I said honestly. "And…while that does sound at least better than just murder…ugh, why does this have to be so complicated?" I groaned.
"Nothing worth the effort is ever easy." The Saint said.
"So…how difficult is it going to be to get this ability? Cause…now that I think about this memory erasure ability, it might actually be something I'll need to help Jaku…"
"It follows a similar path. In terms of getting it, I guess we'll just have to start capturing these grunts alive like you wanted."
"Yes, thank you." I nodded. "It…will still feel bad, but it's better than killing them, the people appearing in Mother knows where, and then just getting back to work after a bit." I said honestly.
"Ugh. Bored now. Can we get to your place so I can eat, touch grass and hopefully get laid?" Saw asked.
"Yes, yes, you want to play a game and that game involves dick we get it." I rolled my eyes, not sure if they'd get the Saw reference. "But something more important, is this child going to be alright?" I asked worriedly.
The Saint looked over to them, kneeling down and waving a hand over them. "... No. This child is far from alright." He said. "There are many beasts that were… for lack of a better word, distilled into essence, forged and injected into his bones and organs. He is unstable, and very, very near death. I'm amazed he is still alive."
"How do I help him?" I asked quickly. "Cause I immediately thought about using Overhaul and OFA's genetic powers…"
"That Quirk Ability has many uses, but this goes beyond what it can do, even boosted." The Saint said. "This is partly Code Based. A Hacker, a very novice one at that, did this."
"Shit…" I said worriedly. "How…how do we fix this? I've never dealt with Code stuff before…"
"There is little that can be done. I could extract the parts not bound by code, but that might just kill him faster. I could try and seal it, but should the code activate it would break it instantly. Hmm… maybe… but I'd rather not…" He muttered.
"What do you have in mind?" I inquired.
"There is one option but it will not come without a hefty toll. I know a Hacker who can undo this, easily, but I'd rather not bring them here. It puts his life at great risk as well."
"How difficult would it be to get to where your Hacker friend is?" I inquired.
"I can bring him here easy, but if I do, then all of Armageddon will know he has returned, and that will cause problems everywhere."
"And causing a lot of problems isn't something we need right now…" I said nervously. "Uh…what if we find the Hacker that did this?" I asked worriedly, cause while I do want to save this kid it's…would really causing massive upheaval in this world really be worth it?
"Even a novice Hacker would easily be able to kill you, Midoriya. Their powers are… unique to Armageddon."
"Who is this Big Bad hacker guy you know anyway?" Saw asked. "I might barely be following along out of boredom but what makes them so special?"
"He is one of the Five Brothers." The Saint said. "One of the first people to ever clear a level five void dungeon. His hacker powers did not come from Armageddon itself, rather, he figured out how to do it himself, out of boredom."
"Really? He was so bored that he literally learned how to rewrite reality?" I asked.
"He's smart. It sometimes borders on omnipresent. His ability to recall and retain all he learns is his own talent. No abilities needed. He might not be the strongest of the Five Brothers, but he is the most infamous and arguably, dangerous."
"Right…" I said slowly. "So uh…if he comes here then what? He'll just see this as some jungle gym for him to play in or would literally everyone who's strong enough sense his presence and try to murder him?"
"Not exactly. He's been in hiding of sorts for many years, he just wanted a sense of peace, so if I bring him here and he uses his code powers, his brothers will be alerted. Then they might, no, they will come looking for him. At least, three of them anyway."
"Right…" I said slowly, looking down at the child in my arms, their breathing felt steady even if the Saint was shocked that they were alive…"I…guess…" I sighed. "How fucked would this world be if this Hacker came back?"
"There would definitely be… a change. Once the rest of the Brothers learn he's back on Armageddon, people are gonna try and hunt them to bring him back to them."
I sighed. "This is gonna suck but…" I took a deep breath. "It always starts with one life…one decision that can change the world…" I chuckled. "Call him…I know this is going to be a stupidly bad idea…but it's a single step forward, and that can mean astronomical things in the long run."
The Saint nodded. He pulled out a small, thin metal whistle from his Assistant. Once he had it, he blew into it. I didn't hear any noise, but the air around us seemed to shift and distort. I then saw some green energy flowing around and gathering in front of the Saint. The very air shook and vibrated as the green energy and distorting space centralized. There was a flash, and floating there was a green haired man wearing a dingy and dirty lab coat.
He then fell, and face planted on the ground. "Ouch…" He groaned, pushing himself back up. "Hey, Saint!" He said, hugging the Saint. "How have you been? It's been way too long!"
"Many millions of years Master." Saint said.
Master?!
"Excuse me what!?" I asked incredulously.
"Oh, you have friends!" He said, zipping in front of me. "Hmm… you look familiar… wait, you lived in Candlelight right? I had a shop there! Til immigration showed up and… yeah… I miss that store…"
He was in Candlelight running a store?!
"Hold up what? When did that happen?" I asked in confusion. "I was so focused on…well, family, and all the other things with the town…"
"Oh I moved in when a friend moved there. Was nice, hope you can rebuild it. Anyway, holy crap are you a Nokori!?" He yelped, suddenly in front of Saw. "I haven't seen one of you in forever! Are you natural born are artificially made?" He asked, grabbing Saw's head and looking him over.
"Uh… made…" Saw said, looking confused.
"Uh…huh…" I said slowly. "So uh…I have like, a billion questions in a very long mutter storm but…I have something important to ask…"
"Oh what?" He asked, still looking Saw over. "Huh, your fusion process was different from the standard."
"You can tell just by looking?" Saw asked.
"Oh yeah."
"Well, uh…I need your help saving this kid." I said, raising up the stitched child. "Please…Saint here said that it's a miracle he's even alive…"
"Hm, oh what the hell is this?" He said, almost dropping Saw and walking up to me and the kid. "Jesus Christ MJ what the hell… no, this newbie is… beyond incompetent…" He said, putting his thumb on the kids head. There was a flash of green and… his scars and stitches were gone, his hair was regrown, a shimmering chrome. "There we go."
"Thank you sir." I said with a smile. "But…what did you actually do? I tend to have Copy Cat running and it didn't register anything…it registered Saw's abilities over here but not that…"
"You what?" Saw asked.
"Code is one of those things it can't replicate." He said. "Also, names John. Junker John."
"I'm Midoriya." I nodded. "And well…if you want to remake your store I am trying to help a town out after they moved into my home."
"Much as I'd love that, best I don't stick around. Now that I used my code my brothers are gonna notice and are probably… MJ is probably surprised. GJ must be laughing like a mad man, SJ probably is setting up some over the top spell right now, and RJ must be… somewhere filled with death and anarchy…"
"Ri~ght…" I said slowly. "So…ugh, I have so many questions but you really need to hide from what Saint here told me."
"Sadly. Welp, was nice meeting you. Oh and if you find a guy named David, hermaphrodite, brown eyes and hair, if you find them call me I have been looking for them and my other friends for a while. Hard to search when in hiding though. Anyway, by." With that, he vanished… what the?
"Well, that happened." Saw said. "Shame… he was cute…"
"Can you please stop?" I frowned.
"Neva!"
I groaned. "Alright…so child has been saved…which I'm going to be adopting…so today has been going well."
"You best go home. Delilah should be awake by now." The Saint said.
"By the way Saint, why did you call him Master?" Saw asked.
"Well, Master is just a formal greeting. In truth, he is my maker."
"What like your dad?"
"That is one way to put it, but he did not father me, he created me."
"Well…I mean, Code is Reality Warping, so him being able to create life like that isn't really surprising."
"I guess. Still, if he was gonna grope my face like that I'd have asked for a dinner date before he left." Saw said.
"Stop… please…"
"You go on a near seventy year dry spell and then tell me about how to keep it in my non-existent pants!"
"Wait, you're naked?!"
"I'm covered in fur, it covered everything so yes! Nokori rarely wear clothes!"
"Right…" I muttered, trying not to focus on that nonsense or look down. "Oh, and just to prove what I said was true." I said, raising my arm and producing a buzzsaw blade from my hand away from everyone just in case.
"Oh… You bitch."
I huffed as I began walking home, Saw following behind and surprisingly the Saint was too.
Once home I put the child in a spare bed, letting them recover and sleep more. I showed Saw the Planet Room. He did indeed proceed to touch the grass… and face plant into it… then ran off to the town a bit up the road from the entrance to the Planet Room.
"Now then, shall we talk?" The Saint asked me.
"Yeah…we need to talk…" I sighed.
I walked with The Saint into the Planet room and we sat at a bench along the road to the town. "You need to keep Saw around."
"In what way?" I inquired. "Cause if it's as a resident here, that's easy…but what do you mean?"
"... He is to be your third Ally with Delilah in your party." He stated. "I can easily give him Mortal Sun as well, or maybe something just as effective. Though I feel Mortal Sun would be more compatible given the situation."
"Fair enough." I nodded. "How many party members am I allowed to have?" I inquired, as I used Copy Cat to see how it feels to be a Nokori and if I would become something like him or if it would do something different since I've only done a race change with it like…twice overall?
[Error! Nokori Race Inaccessible]
"Don't." The Saint said. "Nokori are… unique, amongst races. Copy Cat can't copy their species. Their powers, sure, but not their race."
"That's…strange." I hummed. "Maybe it's because he was artificially made? Hmm…but what about the number of party members?"
"There is no set limits, but I recommend no more than four. As for why, it's how they are created. The process also alters the soul. Their physical bodies are part of an extension of the alterations to their souls. You can't copy soul based magics or abilities. In any case, he will be invaluable to you later."
"Alright, good to know." I nodded. "I'm…sorry for not killing sir…just…" I motioned to everything, knowing I've already made my argument but just showing how thing's are fucked either way.
"I had hoped seeing Violence's cruelty would snap something in you. But even looking at how they treat others, that sense of mercy never left you. Your value of life even in a world like this, while risky, is not something that can be changed. Rather, I will have to help you work to keep it that way. I will warn you though, it will still be difficult. You have that keyblade still?" I nodded, summoning my broken Starlight. The blade was gone, just the grip and hand guards. "Let me see that." I gave it to him. He held it, placing his hand to the broken end and in a flash of light, it was… whole. He then gave it back to me. "I reinforced it some too, so it shouldn't break so easily next time. You will need it for the training to obtain the memory skills from the Dark Skill Tree."
"I know there are horrible people, I know they have done and will do horrible things…" I sighed. "But Life is still sacred…I've died too many times to just take it for granted, whether mine or others…and I especially learned that when I…first jumped…" I took a deep breath, having that incident happen so long ago. "But thanks for fixing my Keyblade…need to figure out what it really is…but onto bigger questions, like how do I get these memory skills?"
"The Keyblade is one of this reality's more versatile weapon. It naturally scales with the user, can aid in all forms of magic casting, unlocks near any lock, and of course, can give one access to the inner worlds of another or themselves."
"Awesome." I nodded. "I was told that Starlight was the 'Beginner' keyblade, and that Keyblades choose their wielder after a certain amount of time."
"More or less. In some cases, if no alternative Keyblade chooses you, Starlight itself will evolve and change into a Keyblade suiting you. In rare cases, Starlight doesn't change, but rather boosts and grows stronger to aid the wielder as they get stronger. Then of course, there are the variations of Keyblades out there, ones with different Cores than the norm."
"How so?" I inquired. "And does this also affect my Keyblade armor? I know you didn't want me to wear it so I could get used to…all the pain…"
"It won't have any effect on that. They are two separate tools. But long ago, The Family created alternative Keyblades powered by different Cores. The Default core in Keyblades is Light, and sometimes, Darkness. Sometimes it will have a core made of both. These cores determine a lot about how a Keyblade grows and evolves with their wielder, however there is a type of… I guess you can say it's like an Assistant but for weapons called a Core Stone. They can be applied to any weapon and armor included. They can be made with great difficulty or found in level four dungeon areas."
"So the Core Stone given to any weapon or armor could have said piece of equipment turn into anything you put into said Core?" I inquired.
"In a sense. It's like this. If you were to apply a Core Stone to your Keyblade, you can have it absorb both other weapons with magical abilities to take those abilities and place them onto itself, or if they have a magic core, you can swap the cores out for an advantage in a battle. Swapping cores has various effects depending on the core. Swapping the Light Core for say, a Fire Core, Starlight would change into a red hot semi flaming version of itself, fire magic would cost up to seventy percent less mana, your fire quirks would get a passive boost, and every hit of course deals fire damage. On top of that, depending on the weapons you have it absorb, it can take that weapons form while still being a Keyblade."
"Well, that is really interesting." I said honestly.
"Yes. The same can apply to armors but for defense. However there is also a different way to use these. One is capable of absorbing a Core Stone, and taking all those benefits onto themselves, but this comes at a steep price. It locks you out of all Skill Trees. You gain the power to shift and change into a weapon, or even armor, but you are a living weapon bound to your wielder of choice, but capable of using weapon and armor specific abilities. The people who do this we call Living Weapons or Conscious Arms."
"Hmm…while that is interesting, I'd prefer keeping a Skill Tree." I said honestly.
"It's why people who do this are rare. But there is the benefit that any skills and abilities they had beforehand, they keep, it just locks them out of gaining more. Add the fact that when in weapons form, their wielder gains all their abilities as well. This stacks onto abilities they share, and yes, even legendary abilities are shared through this process."
"Oh that sounds ripe for an asston of abuse." I chuckled.
"You'd think, but again, it's not a well used thing because of the locking the person out of any future abilities not weapon related. So for now, you just need to concern yourself with finding two. One for your Keyblade and the other for your armor."
"Yeah…and it'll probably be a pain given I'm pretty sure I've never been into a level four dungeon before…"
"On Armageddon a normal dungeon can be found but given the world itself is endless Arena Dungeons, your best bet is the basic Tower Dungeon. Your best option is looking for one that has a Weapon Master or Blacksmith based Boss in there somewhere."
"Alright." I nodded. "Do you know any place like that?" I inquired to my Shadow Hunter roommate, considering she's been here a lot longer she'd know where to go.
"I might know some but they are rather far. Maybe a weeks travel even at your top speed."
That's pretty far, but manageable.
"So, what did you wish to talk about?"
"Well…I suppose to start, how long ago were you created and…I suppose why?"
"Master created me… many years ago, back in late Era 2. As for why, well, despite all his power, Master is still very weak. He has not put forth any skills or abilities into himself despite a large hoard of Skill Points. I was his shield and sword."
"Yeah, that makes sense." I nodded. "Why do you think…killing people is more important than trying to either capture them and try to do some rehabilitation? I know you said that if you kill someone good enough they'll give up but…well, I was also told that people would just get more pissed because they'll just respawn and hunt you down."
The Saint looked up at the blue sky. "When I was created, my sole purpose was to protect my Master. That ment everyone who would do them harm had to be dealt with. So I did. I'd make their deaths long and painful, ensuring the agony of it would follow them into their respawn. When Master and his brothers came to Armageddon, this did not change, then, Master came across a town in a zone called When Day Breaks. They called themselves The New Foundation, and they all came to Armageddon with the goal to help anyone who came here live better lives, more like the life those off world live, and capture and contain all sorts of monsters and enemies this zone houses."
"That's good to know that there's a group of people wanting to try and make a better life here." I said honestly. "But…it was all about how you were created and how thing's didn't seem to change?"
"When Master came upon this place, rather than move along as we always had, he stayed to help. Taught them many useful things to improve and move towards their goals. I did not understand the reason, but I did as he told me. At this point, it was a few thousand years into Era 3 and Master began to wish to leave Armageddon. So, he did." I blinked… he left? "Before he did, he told me to stay here and help people as I traveled. I did try to imprison, capture others as the New Foundation does, but they would escape, cause more harm, and destroy their captors. In the end, I found the pain and agony of their slaughter a far better deterrent than imprisonment."
"I…I understand." I nodded. "You had enough time and experience to…know these things…" I sighed.
"Yes, but you can try something else." He said. "The Ability you need is Memory Incineration. This ability will allow you to give those you can use it on the second chance. They will forget everything of their life. And considering that for many, the Chaos Guild is all they ever know, born to them from Breeders, perhaps it will give them the life they never knew was an option before. You can do what I can't. Save our enemies."
Hearing that…hearing him say those words…saying that I could save people…I honestly couldn't have felt any happier hearing that. "Thank you Saint…I know it'll be a long and…very painful road for me…but hearing that I can save people, that's…that's all I ever wanted to do…from the day I first saw All Might to now."
"In a way, you have already. That boy, and Saw. I doubt he will change personality wise, but he doesn't need to. Sometimes a more violent reaction will be necessary, but I think you two can work well together. He is driven by a simple but passionate goal… and we both know his target is indeed in this world." I raised a brow… then remembered… That Phoenix… the one with a flame of a raging forest fire I could see from so far away…
"That Phoenix…he's a Nokori, and his name is David." I answered.
"Well, the human he was fused with anyway." The Saint chuckled. "I am unsure how much time has passed for the two. Perhaps once your training is done I will go see."
"Yeah…we've been so busy with everything time just kinda blurred together." I said honestly.
"That's not what I mean." The Saint stated. "Isekai that arrive from the same world don't always arrive here at the same time. For example, Saw states he has been in this reality for sixty years or so. Well, for this David, he could have been here for less, more, and that's not counting how long it has been in their home reality. If he was immortal and fused with a Phoenix of that caliber before arriving here, he very well could already be thousands of years, maybe even older. Meeting them sounds like an interesting encounter."
"Too bad they're extremely far away…" I frowned. "Unless you know a way to teleport there without it taking forever…"
"I do." He said. "I learned a lot in my time and travels. That will be for another time however."
"I understand." I nodded. "So, what's next for my training?"
"For now, you will get to know Saw more. Trust will need to be earned and while he doesn't like you much, he does seem to at least find you amusing. You and Delilah both should work on getting him to work with you both."
"Well…I'm sure he'll come around sooner or later." I shrugged. "But currently he might just act like an ass cause I'm 'not his type'." I rolled my eyes.
"And that bothers you?"
I mean… it… shouldn't… I think… Oh boy I might have some thinking to do… I know Three has been an exception for… obvious reasons but… huh…
"Well, it bothers me more about him just kinda being a jackass about it?" I asked. "Like, when I first started to save him he just kinda based his opinion on me by his 'type'."
"Some people are not afraid to state what they are into. He clearly lacks shame."
"He clearly does lack shame when he kept talking about getting laid after touching grass and eating something." I said honestly.
"At least he knows what he wants out of life so far. Even simple desires can keep one going on a place like Armageddon."
"That's fair…but he called me Cringe." I frowned.
The Saint actually laughed. "I'm sure it will get less over time."
… Wait, he agrees?!
"What do you mean you agree with Saw?" I pouted.
"Well, calling yourself a hero is not exactly something a normal person does… let alone someone who embodies heroism. I understand you are eager, but if you force the hero title on yourself, others won't want to call you one. They'll even get annoyed by you."
"If I don't let people know, then they'll either think I'm doing it for some monetary gain, personal pride or some nonsense like that, or in some cases think I'm a weirdo for being a decent person."
"Some, yes. Others will tell though. It's not something you should have to advertise. I know I didn't. Frankly it was a surprise when word of me spread to places I hadn't even been to yet."
"Well…I suppose you're right." I sighed.
"So, for the time, you will get to know Saw with Delilah. The both of you will learn about him and each other, alright?"
"Alright." I sighed. "Hear that Delilah?" I called out to her, knowing she was paying attention to our conversation.
"Yup." She said, appearing behind me and wrapping her arms around my neck. "Guess this will be interesting."
"You two should get started. I have things to tend to, so I'll be back in a few days." He said, standing up and heading off.
"Guess we should." Delilah sighed. "So, this Saw person is a bit unhinged or something?"
"He's a Ram-Goat Nokori that can produce Saw blades from his body…somehow." I said, honestly confused if that just came with being Nokori or if he could already do that. "The first thing he wanted to do after escaping was touch grass, eat food, and get his ass pounded…and he kept trying to tell me it's better to just murder someone instead of talking…he kept being pissy with me cause I'm 'not his type'...and he called me Cringe."
Delilah snorted. No… "I'm sorry…" She said, trying to hold back laughter.
"I'm not Cringe!" I whined. "Why do people think that?"
"You uh… have your moments…" She said, holding back her laughter before taking a deep breath. "Also… are you upset he didn't want to sleep with you~?"
"No." I said, which seemed to catch her off guard with how fast that was. "He was being an asshole the entire time to me, especially with how he kept going 'well you're not my type', like dude, I just met you, I know you want cock but damn." I frowned, my aggravation at today was getting a bit more than my joy at there being some Hope for tomorrow.
"Awh… boo." Boo?! "Well, let's go find this guy and make friends or something."
"What do you mean 'boo'?" I asked. "Am I not allowed to not like a person immediately after they kept being a jerk to me?"
"Not that, I just thought you were into a guy other than Three for a minute there." I frowned at her. "Thought you'd be all cute about it…"
I facepalmed.
"Delilah please…" I grumbled. "Let's just go meet Saw and try to be friends."
I walked over with her into town. Finding Saw was thankfully easy, he was in a bar, enjoying some hot wings and a large mug of beer.
"Hey, Greenie… who's the cat?" Saw asked.
"I'm Delilah, Midoriya's mate and mother to his first born child." She introduced.
"Wait… Greenie got laid… and fathered a child? Wow. Good thing I never made a bet on that." I frowned. "So, what brings you two here?"
"Long story Short, our teacher wants you to be part of our party and such." Delilah said as she and I sat on the same side in the booth. "So, in short, wanna fight shit and get stronger along the way?"
"Hmm… Well, fighting would be fun, but Greenie's no kill shtick is annoying."
"You don't have to follow his rule. Midoriya won't kill, but you can. Just no… killing who he captures, alright?"
"Hmm… I can work with that I guess. What else do I get out of this partnership?"
"You get a chance to find David and be strong enough to kick his ass." I said honestly.
His ear twitched at that. "Hmm… That is a very tempting offer." He said, grabbing his mug and chugging three large gulps. Once he was done with that he looked me in the eye. "I'll accept but I have conditions."
"And what are your conditions?" I inquired.
"First, when I kill people, you can't bitch. I'll agree that people you take down I won't touch but anyone I'm fighting, I'm killing. So no bitching. Second, when I cross paths with David again, it's on sight. Get in my way and I will slice you. Third, I'd like one of those." He pointed at the Assistant on my arm. "I noticed everyone has one of those things and I know they're important. What are they, what do they do, and where can I get one?"
"First…I'm still gonna complain but fine, two if you think you can handle someone with the power to be seen from trillions of miles away and it still looks like a raging wildfire, be my guest…and lastly, this is called an Assistant, an all in one marvel of machinery and magic that can do just about anything…though how you can get one I don't know." I said honestly.
"Tsk. Well, keep the complaining to a minimum at least. Maybe that Saint guy knows? He looks like the type to know about everything you don't." He said, picking up a hot wing and tossing it into his mouth… he… chewed it… with the bone?
"He most likely would…" Delilah said.
"Well I'm sorry that I'm not old enough to see both the end and start of an entire Era." I frowned.
"That's actually another thing I was wondering. See, Nokori biology age physically depending on their age and the animal they look like. A good example being that once age forty hits a Nokori starts looking older, before then they will typically always look like a young adult version of the animal they are. After that once they age they begin looking older and older and such. So, by my count I think I should be over a hundred already, how come I still look like I'm fresh out the incubation tube?"
"I believe…it's because once you reach maturity, you stop aging all together unless you…want it to." I said carefully. "It's one of those things in this reality that I don't really know much about. Cause if memory serves, Era's tend to be…what, a Centillion years or something?" I questioned, looking to Delilah as she was technically native to this reality.
"Yeah." She nodded.
"Wow… Welp, beats looking like a shriveled old goat…ram… eh. Just glad I ended up here before I hit forty." Saw shrugged.
"Eh, but any other questions about this world?"
"Well, I guess the only other thing I really want to know is if magic works the same here as it does back home. I know Nokori can do all kinds of special magical abilities because of what we are on top of having large reserves of magic, but humans and such in order to cast magic usually needed a high enough affinity or an Artifact to cast magic."
"People here can cast magic in a variety of ways." Delilah said, raising her hand and forming ice, fire, and some lightning too. "There is no single better way to cast magic, it's all preference."
"Oh, oh now that is good to know." Saw chuckled. "So, I guess you two have questions for me now that it seems we're gonna be working together."
"Yes." I nodded. "Well first…I might as well ask, were you able to produce the buzz saw's before or after you became a Nokori?"
"Oh no, this is my ability. Not really magic but I was made as a… Gen 2 B.O.W Nokori. I was more built to be a weapon than magic, but don't ask how that all works cause I don't know how."
"Right…why were you picked to become a Nokori? Just random chance or what?" I inquired.
"Well, I was actually offered. Apparently the good doctor was looking for people with a more… psychotic mindset to become the next gen BOW Nokori. Something about his first gen breaking out and fight against him and being immortal… eh." He shrugged. "I knew from the news the Nokori were powerful and unique, and depending on factors could fly or have the agility of their animal mixes. So I said sure. My work was getting boring anyway."
"I…suppose that makes sense…" I frowned. "And were you fused with a buzz saw and a ram or did it just randomly happen?"
"I don't remember the animal but I was fused with a buzz saw. Same one I used at work."
"What did you do for work?" Delilah asked.
"Kill people."
"Right…so that's why you seemed so eager to tell me 'no no, murder is fine and you should do it'." I frowned. "Yeah…I'm gonna need to teach you how to not murder."
"So what, you were a hit man or…?" Delilah asked.
"Oh, something like that. Gangsters would pay me to deal with rivals or corpse disposal. Buzz Saw was noisy but fast."
"Huh. How'd you get into that work?"
"Well, it's a bit of a sign you're gonna end up in a line of work like that when you start killing at a young age."
"How young?"
"Ten."
"Who was it?"
"My old man. Usual sad sob tale, dad was a drunk, mom was emotionally distant from years of his bs. Came home one day to find him beating her again, so while he was distracted I walked into his bedroom, grabbed the .45 he always threatened me and mom with and introduced him to its business end for a change. Mom died a week later from the beating, and after a small court case I wound up in the foster system and in and out of juvie til I grew up, got involved with some gangsters and after a few dirty jobs, made a name for myself."
"Well then." I blinked, surprised at how…grim his life has been.
"Meh." He shrugged. "Welp, that's my past. At least before becoming a Nokori."
"Well, what was it like after?" Delilah asked.
"Fun. Did not like being a giant fucking plushie but the power to produce and shoot buzz saws from my body was really fun. Sadly didn't last long as that fucking bird man put an end to my fun and I spent ten years in a special prison for Nokori criminals before waking up here."
"Uh…did you see anything weird before appearing here?" I inquired.
"Hmm…" Saw hummed, thinking back. "Nope. Was in my cell eating an apple, took a nap, woke up in a place where everything was made from flesh and everything wanted me dead. I had fun hacking those nasties apart…" He chuckled. "Some long ass time lost there I somehow ended up captured by those fuckers and well, you know the rest Greenie."
"Hmm… What was becoming a Nokori like?" Delilah asked.
"Painful. I've been shot, beaten, stabbed, gotten bones and ribs broken, bruised. Still, that fusion process hurt way more than all that. Spent some time after in this incubation tube and after apparently a month later I was pulled out and woke up in what kinda looked like an all metal hospital room. Spent some weeks learning to use my powers and how all that worked then was sent on missions."
"Alright, that's good to know." I said.
"So, you weren't the only BOW Nokori then, there were others?" Delilah asked.
"Aside from the first five gen ones, in the gen two, like me, I remember there were seven others that were awake, and I think nine others in tubes. After that I think I met one that was a gen three that showed up in the prison… but no idea how many more there were before I ended up here." Saw explained, eating another hot wing, bone and all.
"Well…I guess that makes sense, also how are you able to eat the bones so easily?"
He opened his mouth, revealing many mini saws. Of course… He closed his mouth and swallowed. "Saws are both external and internal. And yes, I have used this on various bad dates."
"Ouch!" Delilah said, voicing my thoughts.
"Yeah…that's uh…ow…" I lightly pressed my legs together to cover my junk in sympathy pain.
"Not like they lost much." He smirked. "In any case, that's more or less all about me."
"Well…alrighty then." I nodded. "That makes more sense on why you think murder is the first thing you should do to everyone and everything for no reason…and sorry that most of your life's just been…terrible."
"Pst, don't give me sympathy." He said, picking his beer back up and taking another large gulp. "Honestly, I'd prefer it if you were a snarky jackass. Part of why I am looking forwards to meeting David again. The bastard knew my past and still treated me without sympathy." Saw smirked. "He knew I didn't want or need it. I respected he still would look at me as an enemy rather than some sad lost soul."
"If you say so." I said honestly. "Any questions you have for us about our lives? Cause we need to get to know each other better so we can work as a team."
"Hmm…" He said, looking over at Delilah. "How good is Greenie in bed?"
My head hit the table.
"They've gotten better. At the start I will admit it was… not that good." Delilah started.
This is not happening…
"Delilah can we not?" I asked incredulously.
"I've only gotten to talk about this kind of stuff with the others, it's nice to talk to a non member of our family." Delilah said.
"Wait, Greenie has multiple ladies?" Saw asked.
"Oh yes." Delilah said.
"Wow… Did not see that coming. So, they're better. Do they do anything special or…"
"Oh my Mother I have been trying to get them to try more frisky stuff but they never go for it!"
"So a Greenie not just in appearance…" Saw huffed. "Weak you shemale harem haver."
Delilah chuckled.
So… there's that desire to die again… yup. Right there… being carried by the exploding embarrassment…
"Alright everybody, it was fun I'm gonna go die in a ditch." I said, turning around and walking out cause I am having none of this.
