Chapter 31
Where?
Caw! Caw!
The sound of the large Black Vultures singing for their brethren to feast on their new dinner. The large vulture quickly uses its beak and pierce into the flesh of a body.
The body did not respond, it stayed still with it fresh waiting for the vulture to feast on more. As more and more vultures come, one of them picks up something in the body.
It was a Jet black longsword with a ting of blue line. Losing interest in it it quickly went back to feasting on the fresh with its brethren.
But then one of the vultures put its beak near the body's head making the body suddenly start moving. Its green hair moves along the wind as the body starts to get up revealing a beautifully tattered face of a young girl.
"Cough! Cough! What the…-urg! Shit!" She whines as the pain finally settles on her, the sheer sound of her cries makes the Vulture fly away in panic.
"Holy...fuck. Where am I!?" She looked around but found nothing but plain desert and the vulture that flew above her head.
One of the vultures quickly descended down toward her and it stared at her in curiosity. She stared at it too, confusion came over her but it was soon broken by a sharp pain.
The freaking vulture pecked her. It pecks her, and its beak got a part of her arm fresh…
She quickly panics and uses Ice Pillar screwing the Vulture in its place and instantly killing it. The Pack seeing one of their brethren get killed easily quickly fly away.
"Shit! It fucking hurt! EX-HEAL!" She began to use her healing magic on herself which worked wonderfully as the wound started to close but then a problem stuck her.
Her legs...were broken. They were broken beyond the norm.
"I have no choice I guess…" Using her hand which fortunately is still in piece, she bent the leg back to what it was supposed to look like.
"Argggg! Fuuuuuck! Ex-heal! Ex-Heal! Ex-heal!" After using Ex-heal more than 10 times her leg finally works again. She began to get up as her wobbly legs shook making it difficult.
After a hard time getting up, she finally can take a look at the surroundings.
Everything...is nothing but sand. Everywhere she looked she found nothing but sand. Confusion overcame her again.
"Where is this? Where am I? How did I get here?" She asked herself that question as she began to walk but then she stomped on something and fell down.
"Ow...What? Black Heart? It's with me...then...Urg!?" Memories start pouring in. The fear of the blinding light, the Flash of Knife that wants her head, Ghislaine being consumed by the light, and then...
"Rudy and Eris! Shit, I need to find them!" Picking up the black heart she was surprised that the scabbard was still on her hip. "The thing I wear or have on hand is still with me...that means Rudy must be with Eris."
She took a look at her surroundings again. "Desert...There probably won't be a lot of food for me...That vulture I can probably ration it."
The girl thinks with a calm mind. She understands that the moment she loses her calmness it will be her last. Right now nothing is more important than understanding the situation and surviving.
"Shit! At times like this, it would be nice to have a little backpack like the one Gesse has. I could have stored some salt and other spices in there." The girl Lucelia laments at herself for not preparing things like these.
She soon starts to quickly dismantle the vulture. But then she realized that she didn't have anything to store it. She ponders a little before she remembers something.
Taking out her cloak she cut one straight line from it. She won't cut them all. She needs this cloak to protect her from the sun.
With a long piece of cloth ready she makes a box out of dirt and fills it up with ice. Drilling a little hole in the box she knotted the Long cloth with it and bam! A makeshift ration box.
With this, she won't have to worry about the meat going bad for a while.
Smiling to herself she began moving. She doesn't know where she is but she trusts her instinct and moves. She walks from day to night, rests only for a few hours, and walks again.
She walks and walks. From hours to day and from days to week. She feels tired. Her body is getting a bit thin, she feels her body is starting to collapse. She knew that humans could go for a week or even months with no food, just water.
But she also knew that she was not fully Human, maybe just half of it. But the other half is still that of Some Dragon and Demon. Lucy doesn't know the analogy of Demon or Dragon. But she knows that she will hit her limit faster than she thought.
Her body has a rather fast metabolism making her grow more hungry each day. If she doesn't have food to eat in another few days or so she will collapse down. And that is not acceptable. She wants to survive and see the light of day. She wants to see Paul and Zenith. She wants to see Norn and Aisha smile.
But more importantly, she wants to go back. Go back to the home she once left.
Her body is starting to lose its strength, the black heart which should not be heavy feels more like a burden than anything. But she can't allow herself to leave it.
So she did the only thing she could. She continues to march on while grinding her teeth, through the scorching sun and the unwelcome night of coldness.
Her cloak which stands strong against the sun and wind and protects her from it has started to wear out. Hole here and there. The wind is strong but she keeps marching on.
And as if God is taking pity on her, something appears. An ant. A giant lone ant. She knew what it was. A phalanx ant.
A species of dangerous ant that is capable of destroying a country if it sets its sights on it.
But it is strange. It was much bigger than what she once saw in Millis. It was around 1 or 2 meters. Then it clicked inside her head.
A Phalanx ant with that size can only be found in one place. A dangerous continent that has giant monsters roaming around as its playground.
"Bergaritt Continent…" she mutters. Her voice is starting to hoarse. But now she knows where she is.
"I was teleported from the Main continent to Bergaritt? It is not that far away but...I don't know where I am in Bergaritt. I might even be near the Sky Continent but have already walked away from it…"
She mutters, ignoring the ant that notices her. It moves quickly and opens its mouth to eat her but with practice ease, she picks up her sword and slices its head off in one strike.
"Well...I can think about it later...Right now let me eat this thing." With that said she quickly dug into her unsavory meal.
…
"Ha...ok...Let's see what option I have." After eating that damn Ant and walking for a few more days, climbing those damn sand mountains I manage to find an oasis. It's like God smiling at me for keeping it together for those hellish walks.
The oasis is surprisingly filled with Fish and a lot of wildlife here. Most of them don't attack me. I make some makeshift caves and stay up there sleeping and eating to refill my energy for a week now.
It was the most relaxing I've ever been. But as I finally have time to settle and think about things it finally draws on me.
I was alone. It was strange. I was near Rudy and Eris before I got warped so they should be nearby. But no matter how much I searched on my walk I didn't see any sign of human life or something.
Just plain old desert. I hope that maybe...just maybe they were teleported somewhere in the main continent and are safe but my rational mind is keeping me away from that thought.
What if they are unlucky and get teleported into the middle of the sea? What if it was in the Demon continent? What if they didn't survive? I was thinking like that and started to lose hope.
But If I know one thing, it is that Rudy is smart. He is strong. He will pull through and will pull Eris together with him.
That is why I need to hope that they are somewhere near me. And to keep searching. Now I have 2 options.
Right now that I found the Oasis I remember the map I once saw in Lord Phillip Library. In the Bergaritt continent, there is a large oasis that matches where I am.
It was up in the middle of the continent. That means I was near the Sky Continent. If I walk west to the sea and then go up north then I will be at the foot of Sky Continent. But there is a problem. I don't know the language and how to contact the locals.
I only vaguely remember that the Sky Continent is a place with high mountains.
Then there is the second option. Goes down south and then west in order to reach some town. I know a town is there but I don't remember exactly where.
The thing is I will surely get lost if I'm not careful. Unlike Elinalise I don't know where the north is at all the time. Also, the monster will surely be hellish. A monster bigger than a house was common here.
I was lucky I was on the north side of the continent when I teleported here, otherwise, I might already be in the belly of something.
But the fact that it was a plain desert is what makes it dangerous. No food. No treant for fire and definitely no way to tell where the fuck I am.
If I go south then I won't have to worry much about food. Water is something I can make. For shelters, I just need to make some earth fortress or something.
There is also a chance I will encounter the locals of this continent. From what I know about this place there is a local who is fighting against monsters on a regular basis. That means my chance of encountering people is higher.
Yeah...It's better if I go South. The monsters will be far stronger than what I faced before. Stronger than that Mutilate Vampire Treant. The weakest monsters here should be around C-rank…
Shit at times like this I wish I could study more about monsters on each continent! There's even a book like that at Lord Phillip's home and one of Asura at ours!
Tch...No use thinking about this. I have to focus on the present, not the past. Right...Let's go south. Luckily I could tell the direction from where the sun was rising.
First, I need food. Smoking fish is going to last me around 1 to 2 weeks at most. But that can be fixed by eating what I hunt. My body lost a lot of sweat. I need to replenish my salt. And sugar is something I need too.
Second shelters. Earth fortress and barrier magic should do the trick. It won't last against A-rank Monsters but it should be strong enough for B-Rank.
Third fire...I hope that the other side got a lot of Treant. Otherwise, my magic will be a bit useless.
Fourth is clothing. My cloak is full of holes. It is not built for the extreme weather of the Demon or Bergaritt continent. I need a new cloak. Preferably one that is a bit thick. I have iron plate armor underneath my shirt but I doubt this will do anything.
Guess it's time to ditch the armor and rely on what is most important. Touki.
Let's see...my Touki is...still weak compared to Ghislaine. I manage to increase its density by a bit but this should be enough to take a hit or two without me dying instantly.
My cloth will be covered in Touki making it absorb more damage too. The armor plate will slow me down and limit my movement.
"Fu…." I let out a light breath and then flared up my Touki. I can't use Touki all the time. It will consume too much mana.
The master like Ghislaine knows when to use Touki and when not to use it. Unlike Paul who unconsciously uses it.
My Touki is unlike Ghislaine. It consumes too much mana. Making it kind of more like a technique where I will choose and when I will use it.
Flaring down my Touki I can feel the strength leaving me.
But there is one thing it compensates for. My absurdly strong Physics. Just my strength alone I could break a boulder if I wanted to.
Yeah...with these as my arsenal I can survive. I won't underestimate the Bergaritt Continent.
Umu, I will survive and come back home. Wait for me...everyone. No matter how long it takes I will find and return to you all.
With my new resolutions, I walk out of the cave to hunt for my planned departures.
