Replies, cooked up or something idk I'm out of these gimmicks.
lordgemini- The Sheldon elimination hurts so much and it was one of the things that geared me toward a reboot rather than a re-write, but I really didn't want to have to deal with continuity things. He's evolved so much as a character over the years. Kayla's whole gimmick of the day was that she knew she was immune and was hoping things wouldn't end poorly for her on a day like today where she no longer is, so she went all out. Let's see if she can survive this one.
Alright let's get it, these next three episodes needed help bad.
Episode 5: Truth or Truth
Nothing appeared out of the ordinary for today. Chris and Chef were on the dock, Chef tempering with some sort of remote control. "Last time on Ka-" Chris was cut off by a lightning strike crashing out of nowhere in the water in front of them. "Woah, Chef! Watch out for, you know, us!" Chris regained his composure and continued. "Last time on Karon Island, we got a bit wet! The campers went to one of the easiest obstacle courses, but that still proved tough for some." The opening scenes were of Juan coughing up water and Flora and Luna struggling to get over the wall. "Jonathan got angry when Ethan held up his secret deal with Madison, and Paul got angry when Kayla decided to sit the two of them out." Scenes played of Kayla volunteering for individual immunity and Ethan picking Madison for the course.
"In the end, Jonathan regained his composure in time to stop the Bunnies from beating Sarah's time, and the Hens got themselves their first win!" Clips played of Jonathan tricking Randall and the Hens cheering. "On the Bunnies' end, Kayla left during the challenge to find Sheldon's incriminating notepad of predictions, which got him sent home as the first Bouncing Bunny on the Launch of Shame." The final clips that played were of Kayla exposing Sheldon and the nerd's elimination.
Chris and Chef were back on the dock, where Chef was still fumbling with the remote. Another lightning strike came down. "Alright, that might need more time!" Chris called out, causing Chef to hang his head. "Who will take the Launch of Shame today? Will the Hens create a streak of winning? Find out all that today on Total! Drama! Karon Island!"
Opening Sequence
[Various cameras and other director equipment come popping out of various points on the island. Firstly, it appears out of a large tree, then out of a hole at the entrance to the mines, and finally, shooting all the way from the top of The Chasm.]
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine,
[The camera zooms all the way up at the top of Mount Karon. Kara is at the top, observing something as Kayla jumps off of the cliff and starts flying downward, opening up a parachute at the very last second.]
You guys are on my mind,
[The camera moves to the beach, where Gretchen falls off of the rocky cliff and lands face first into the water, still splashing around happily anyway. Nearby, Juan is relaxing in the water as Hannah pops up next to him, evidently annoying him.]
You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see,
[Near the beach, the fourth boat is still wrecked and crashed into a rock. Helio lifts the boat out of the water to move it, all while Daniel is still on it, shocked at the boy's strength. Meanwhile, Madison emerges from the boat wreckage as well, and Jonathan offers his hand to help, which she takes begrudgingly.]
I wanna be famous!
[Further into the woods, Paul is narrowly racing against Sarah in a race. The pessimist trips over Sheldon and crashes to the ground, upset over his loss because of it. Flora rushes over to check on the safety of both the boys.]
I wanna live close to the sun,
[At the base of Mount Karon, Randall is decked out in climbing gear, excited to start moving up the mountain. Next to him, Alexa, looks significantly disinterested, sleeping on a log instead of watching.]
Go pack your bags cause I've already won,
[In the forest, Chad is screaming and jumping around to different trees, while Angie stands in the middle of all of it, covering her ears and getting increasingly more agitated.]
Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day,
[As Chad makes more noises, Ethan and Norm watch from a tree in the distance, before both of them exchange an understanding nod. Next to them lies an empty poison bottle.]
Cause I wanna be famous!
[In the dining tent, Chef and Luna are conversing rather calmly, before a strike of lightning crashes down on the tent. Chef runs out, but Luna appears unfazed by it, instead calmly glancing upward.]
Na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na na na na!
[The camera moves to the dock, where Luna appears out of nowhere, spooking Paul and Kayla. The two glare at her, the former giving up on caring much faster than the latter.]
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous! I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
[The camera drops down to the mines, where Kara is lurking, and she presses a button that launches out a ball of fire. The fire reveals some sort of odd structure inside the mine, bursting into a big glow that transitions to the fire.]
I wanna be famous *whistling*
[Everyone is circled up at the fire. In the middle of all of it, Jonathan leans in toward Madison, who jumps backward, accidentally landing in Ethan's lap, where she is even more freaked out. Above them is the sign that reads 'Total Drama Karon Island'.]
In the girls' side of the Hen cabin, things were pretty quiet. Sarah jumped out of bed with a yawn and a stretch, looking around. "Both asleep still," she noted, seeing Angie and Hannah still out cold. "I hope they don't wake up and start fighting like normal." She peered out the window to see the sun barely up. "Time for a run this morning," she decided, getting ready to leave.
As she got her shoes on and opened the door, she ended up finding Madison at the doorway when she was trying to leave. "Oh, sorry!" Sarah apologized, stepping through the doorway to give the introvert some space. Madison still ended up jumping back when she saw someone was awake. "...Where were you this early?" She gasped. "You weren't hanging out with Jonathan, right?"
Madison shook her head nervously. "N-n-no, nothing like that!" she cried out defensively. "I wasn't out seeing someone!" Her anxious yell ended up waking the other two. Hannah groggily opened her eyes as Angie simply rolled herself off of the top bunk to wake herself up. As the hothead hit the ground with a thud, the introvert noticed that she woke them. "S-sorry," Madison said with defeat.
"I don't care where you were," Angie told her, getting up, feeling more awake now. "But, as sleazy and greasy as Jonathan is, he won us the challenge yesterday and that counts for something. He's useful as long as the teams are around. Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear. I voted for him two nights ago and have since decided that was not the move."
Hannah grinned sneakily. "Well, Angie is too antisocial to wanna know where you were, but I do!" She ran over to Madison, all excited. "Oh, oh, were you meeting with someone? Saying you weren't unprompted makes me think you were!" Madison turned red. "Ooh, that's so fun! But, seriously, it's not Jonathan, right? I'll ignore Angie and just vote him off." Angie seethed behind the social media freak.
"I-its not like that," Madison continued to defend. "I promise!" She could tell that Hannah was only going to keep pressing her. She looked over to Sarah with a set of pleading eyes. "I'm g-going to take a walk!" she yelled out, running out of the cabin again. Sarah sighed and walked out after her, leaving the other two by themselves.
Sarah: "The girls and I wanted to know where Madison was off to, and she's totally meeting someone!" The swimmer gushed. "I'm so proud of her, but the others were being real tough on her. I hope she knows I'm here for her. I wonder how whoever she was meeting with managed to keep her from running away..."
Madison: She sighed loudly. "I was meeting Ethan to discuss how the deal went yesterday," she admitted, "it was really nothing like that. It was just an alliance meeting, that's it!" She paused for a second. "Unless he thought it was more? Did he?" Her face was turning very red.
Over at the Bouncing Bunnies, the boys were tense in the morning. "It sure is nice having four bunks and four people now," Daniel admitted as he woke up with a smile. He looked around and noticed Paul sulking on his bed. The pessimist clearly was not in good shape. "You don't look so great, what's up with you?"
"We lost our only academic weapon," Paul argued. "You're fine, you voted Kara, but those two," the pessimist said pointing at Helio and Randall, "they voted for Sheldon. It was one vote to create a tie, we almost had it and weakened Kayla, who is clearly not a good person." He sighed. "How do we do an academic challenge when one inevitably shows up?"
Randall stood up defensively. "I was concerned that if we voted for the person who did the worst in the challenge that it could become a pattern and if I did the worst I'd go home too." Paul glared at him. "I get it, I get it, that's how it's supposed to go, but I'm with you to get us a win."
Before anyone even had a chance to say anything else, an air horn blew over the speakers. "Good morning, campers," Chris called out to them all, "we're doing this one early because we have a lot of it. Get to the dock as soon as you can, first team there gets an advantage!"
Paul groaned again. "Disloyal team, no smart people, and worst of all, now we don't have breakfast, this is the perfect recipe to set us up for another loss today. At least I'll be able to get rid of Kayla."
"Not to worry, people of lower elevation," Randall cheered, tossing each of them a bag and a cup of water. "Dehydrated meals are the way of the future!" Everyone looked around very confused at how they were supposed to eat.
Helio: He stared blankly at the camera. "What."
Randall: "C'mon, I mean, what else are they gonna eat?" Randall complained. "I tell you, they don't have air horns or picky eaters where I'm from, which is ten thousand feet that way." He pointed upward. "Sea level air is actually brutal to try and breathe."
As the two teams made it to the dock, they were greeted by two sets of floating bleachers in the water in front of them. "Take one of these and get in," Chef ordered, throwing metal helmets at every person as they got into their respective team bleachers. Jonathan attempted to sit next to Madison, but Ethan jumped in the way, sending the lover boy to the row above. "Put 'em on, they'll be important to how things go today." He let out a sinister chuckle to himself.
Kara blinked a few times and inspected the area. "Odd...I'm not noticing any weird weather patterns today." She turned to Luna, who seemed to be off in her own world. "Luna, do you know if there's something off about this place?" The psychic bounced up and down in place, ignoring anything the curious girl was saying.
Once the helmet commotion settled down, Chris came forward and pressed a button, bringing a scoreboard up in front of the teams. "Welcome to our little challenge today," Chris said condescendingly. "If you recall, a few seasons ago, we tried to expose some embarrassing information about the Revenge of the Island cast, but they complained too much, and we ran out of time." A few people nodded to indicate they remember that.
Chris continued. "Well, in the interest of time, we want to try that challenge again, and we will finish on time, that's why we're staring so early in the morning." He laughed. "No amount of complaining will stop you from having this challenge completed!" He gestured to the scoreboard. "This will also be a bit more streamlined. We ask a question, you answer correctly, you get a point for your team. First to seven wins."
Everyone stared at each other for a few seconds, unsure of where to go from there. "Alright, I'll bite," Alexa raised her hand as she adjusted the strap on her helmet. "What's up with the metal helmets? I don't remember this from the last time you attempted this challenge." She tapped it, hearing it wasn't as resonant as metal should be. "There's something in here..."
Chris nodded. "There is. Those helmets contain devices to give you a small electric shock." The complaining began from there. "But!" Chris interrupted, "you will only shock you and your team by answering with a lie, so you can stay uncharred by just telling the truth the whole time." Chris turned his monitor to a coin, which he flipped virtually, revealing the Happy Hens' logo. "Hens, you're up first with...Norm!"
Norm nonchalantly glanced up at Chris, a bored expression still on his face. "Man of few nice things to say, but also full of mysteries. I'm sure your aura has already captured hundreds of obsessed fangirls watching from home." The antisocial genius rolled his eyes. "Your question...does anybody capture your interest? I'm sure the world is dying to know."
The antisocial genius rolled his eyes again. He glanced around his team, and then at the other team, before facing Chris with a deadpan expression. "Sorry, had to check one more time to be sure, but no, I don't have anyone who 'captures my interest', as stupid as that is to say." The team nervously awaited the response from the scoreboard.
Jonathan: "Oh, he doesn't like anyone. Sure..." he mocked facetiously. "He doesn't understand there's a challenge at stake. Everyone likes someone!" He gasped. "It better not be Madison. He probably sent Ethan last challenge to-" Jonathan shook his head. "No. I'll get that evidence. I'll find a way.
To the shock of Jonathan, but only mentally, nobody was shocked on the Hens. "Our helmets have determined that to be a truthful answer." The scoreboard put a point on the board for the Hens. "Let's move to the Bouncing Bunnies with...Paul!" The pessimist sighed. "Paul, you're a sports guy we've heard, tell us about your football career at your school."
Paul grumbled. "What's there to talk about?" he said with a shrug. "I'm third sting quarterback. There's always someone better than you, the two in our athletic conference just happen to live near me." He shrugged again. "Unless you're trying to market me as a non-threat, but I don't think you meant that." He could still hear Kayla snickering above him. "Laugh it up, I can't wait for your question."
The Bunnies were quiet for a bit as the helmet analyzed Paul's statement. Eventually, the scoreboard lit up again, putting the teams at 1-1. "Paul's third-rate third-string answer is a truth!" Chris announced. "He ties up the scores at one all." He turned back to the Hens. "Hm...Jonathan, you're up next." The lover boy shifted nervously in his chair.
Chris chuckled. "Jonathan, Jonathan, you've caused quite a stir already here, but there's definitely one thing above all that's putting you as the main enemy for your team. What do you think it is, because we know deep down you know why a specific half of this team doesn't like you." The lover boy huffed angrily at Chris's statement.
"Obviously they think I am trying to frame someone for eliminating Chad, when it was definitely them the whole time!" Jonathan said with a yell. "They used fear tactics against sweet- I mean, fellow team members and put me in a bad spot!" He slammed his hands down on his lap in front of him, but they shot up again almost instantly when he was shocked, along with the rest of his team. "What?"
The host shrugged. "Helmet calls it a fake. What part of it is fake is beyond me, but a lie's a lie. That leaves the Bunnies in a position to take back the lead!" A bunch of the Hens angrily looked over to Jonathan, who glared back at them. "Let's pick the doubter of the helmets...Alexa!" Alexa yawned. "Lots of people would love to date you, being a professional model and all." That statement alone turned a ton of heads. "But, love is a two way street. Does anyone here capture your interest?"
Alexa acknowledged the amount of people looking at her. "What? I'm allowed to have a job. I was blessed with good metabolism and perfect hair, so I decided to get paid for it." She yawned. "Sorry, what was the question? A crush? Sure, on my boyfriend that isn't on the island right now."
Paul let out a sigh of relief as he relaxed in his seat. "Finally, the lead is back. At least our team is honest, even though we all hate each other." Paul's relaxation was interrupted as he and the rest of the team was shocked. He shot an angry look at Alexa. "Hey, what gives? I was able to answer without ruining your day!"
The underachiever shot a glare back at Paul. "Your question was about sports! Mine was actually embarrassing!" She turned to Chris. "Are we done? I'd like to move back to the Hens, please." She slumped in her chair and promptly fell asleep, ignoring the looks she was getting.
Chris nodded. "I'd also like to move back, since it's still tied and we are on a schedule!" He picked up the next card. "Okay, up next...Ethan." The anti-villain groaned. "You've also caused quite a stir, and you have the motivation to win clearly." He playfully narrowed his eyes at the boy. "Is that really your top priority? Just winning? Or are you here for something else?"
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "That's...suspiciously simple," he concluded. "I'm here to win above anything else. Who wouldn't be?" To little surprise, there was not a shock from the helmet, and the scoreboard updated to give the Hens the lead again. When it all happened, Madison slumped down in her seat. Ethan noticed that. "You good?" he asked her. "You look like someone punched you in the gut."
Madison perked up, shooting up in her seat. "Huh? Yeah, I'm good!" She quietly said so only he could hear her. Jonathan was leaning over to see what she was saying, but Ethan blocked him out. "Ugh..." she muttered to herself.
Madison: "That shouldn't have messed me up like it did," she admitted. "I didn't think that I actually had anything there..." She let out a sigh. "I knew this was all just a deal for my vote, but part of me wishes it wasn't."
Chris pulled out the next card. "Ethan's statement is a truth! That puts the Hens up to two points! Let's flip it back to Daniel!" Daniel sat up, nervously anticipating his question. "As a fun fact for you all, Daniel tries to be nice because one time in second grade he said he wanted to be a superhero!" A couple of chuckles came from the audience. "Do you consider your niceness something to use for getting ahead in this game?"
Daniel laughed. "Ah...good times. But, no, I don't really think that's a usable weapon. There's other things to be used, but I just don't have them. So...no." The team waited quietly for a response from the helmet, and it did end up shocking the Bunnies.
Kayla coughed a few times as she finished feeling the effects of the shock. "Ugh, we're never getting that lead back," Kayla complained out loud. "Care to explain what you meant by your lie?" the brat then said, turning to Daniel. She noticed a couple other turn his way too, letting her smirk at her result, feeling more safe now.
"I just meant that everyone considers that at some point!" Daniel defended. "I doubt anyone here who is seen as a nice person hasn't thought that it might be useful come the merge or anything. I doubt I'd really do anything." He laughed nervously. "See? No shock on that explanation!"
Chris rolled his eyes. "Because it's not part of the game, Daniel." Daniel's face fell as Chris flipped the question back to the Hens. "Hens, you have a chance for a big lead. Let's pick...Juan." Chris smirked as the Spaniard's eyes blinked a few times. "If you are verbally able, tell us your least favorite person on the island. If you aren't, you can just point."
"Gracias," Juan said with a thankful nod. It didn't take him much time to figure out who he was going to embarrass with his answer. "Hannah," he said with complete callousness in his voice. Hannah started to laugh, but the laughter stopped as soon as the Hens' scoreboard updated. That meant what he said was honest and not a joke.
Hannah gasped. "M-me?" She laughed nervously, hoping at least some part of that was a joke. "You...you must be joking!" She turned to Chris, but no shock came to the team and the scoreboard did change. Her denies were useless. "No, that can't be it!" She let out a huff. "I'll win him over."
Chris cleared his throat. "Hey all, kinda on a tight schedule here, so let's keep this going. Bunnies, you're down one to three. I'll throw you a bone and give someone a shot who I'm almost certain won't lie. Flora!" The pacifist waved her hand cheerfully at Chris to greet him. "Yeah, hi. Anyway, I'll give you the same question as Daniel. Do you consider yourself a social threat due to your personality? Would you use your niceness to your advantage?"
Flora giggled. "Chris, that's a silly question. Of course not." Kayla put a hand to her face, trying to hold in her anger. But, to the brat's surprise, nothing came after that but a small ding from the scoreboard. Flora noticed Kayla's chagrin. "Sorry if that stressed you out, I take it that was not the answer you were expecting."
Kayla let out a sigh. "You're right about that. After Daniel, I really have my work to do if we blow this lead. But, it's nice to know one person on this team can be honest. Even if it wasn't at your own expense, thanks for telling the truth." Flora grinned at Kayla's compliment.
Flora: "So as it turns out, Kayla's pretty nice!" the pacifist said with a laugh. "I'm glad she can handle herself at some points, I just wish she would be able to get along with the rest of the team, especially Paul."
"And Flora's correct answer puts the Bunnies only down by one now!" Chris called out. "In an effort to speed things up even more, I'm bringing us to our lightning round!" Two buttons rose up from the bleachers in front of each camper. "Your questions will be yes or no answers. Green is yes, red is no. All other rules are still in." He laughed. "And less break time, especially after a shock. Here we go!"
Chris pointed to the next Hen first. "Hannah!" Hannah perked up. Angie turned her head and glared at the social media freak. "Juan just detested you and you looked in extreme denial. Do you actually deny that he answered truthfully?" Hannah slammed down on the green button. The team all groaned, but surprisingly, her delusions proved truthful, earning the Hens another point. Juan simply sighed.
"Randall," Chris went with next, "the mountains are dangerous. Do you ever get scared that you could fall and die or simply fail to bring essential survival gear?" Randall laughed haughtily at that before hitting the red button. Again, no shock came to the team, and the Bunnies got their third point of the day. The Bunnies also looked pleased with the result.
The questions went back to the Hens. "Sarah!" Chris called out. "You showed us yesterday that you're a very solid swimmer. But, are you the best swimmer on your home team?" Sarah sighed, looked over at Paul, and then looked down at the buttons. She pressed the red one, and nothing happened to the Hens except another point.
Chris snickered. "Oh, that's awesome. Anyway, Luna." The psychic slowly raised her head, looking awfully fearful. "Is there anyone someone creepy like you finds attractive on this island?" Luna sighed in relief when she heard the question, promptly pressing the red button. To her teams surprise, they ended up getting shocked. "Oh, that's so gross," Chris said, "and your team doesn't get a point."
"Angie!" Chris chose next, pointing to the hothead. Angie rolled her eyes at the host. "Are you happy with your performance so far in charge of your team, or do you feel like others could do it better? I'm sure both of those are the same, aren't they?" Angie growled to herself before pressing the red button, turning a bit red herself. "That's a truth!" Chris announced, "Hens need one more!"
Chris went over to the Bunnies again. "Helio, you're up." The strongman huffed. "Do you ever fear that you could seriously hurt someone with your own strength?" Helio blinked at the buttons a few times in confusion. Chris sighed. "Helio, green is yes, red is no." More blinks. "The one that looks like meat is no." Helio nodded, pressing the red button and earning his team a point.
Helio: "No colors on farm," he said firmly. "But me learn that meat red today. Game show teach lots. Teach more than school."
Chris glanced up at the scoreboard as the buttons disappeared again. "Well, after our lightning round, we almost have a winner! The Happy Hens are at six points, and one away from a win!" He turned to the Bunnies. "Since I feel bad, I'll pick another Bouncing Bunny before going back to the Hens." He looked at who was left. "Kara," Chris said sinisterly, "tell us what is on your mind the most."
Kara slammed her hands down on the bleachers in front of her. "Obviously the fact that something is super messed up about this island. I've never seen weather this bad for challenges ever. So naturally, something unnatural is happening!" After a few seconds, the scoreboard updated and the Bunnies got another point.
"Alright, weird answer," Chris admitted, "and even though your delusional head is slipping out, that's clearly what you consider to be the truth, so we'll throw you all a bone. It's now six to five, Hens have a chance to win here. Madison!" The hopeless introvert let out a squeak as she jumped in her chair. "Ever the silent one. Tell us...verbally...whether or not you're keeping secrets from your team."
Madison hesitated. It looked like she was never going to answer the question. She looked around her team and saw Sarah smiling at her encouragingly, and next to her, Ethan patted her on the shoulder a few times. "N-n-not in a m-mean way," she eventually said, "a-and just one!" She buried her head in her arms as she took a bunch of deep breaths.
At the end of it all, the scoreboard went up again, and no shock came to the Hens. Jonathan gasped at the information, an eager look on his face. "That's a truth!" Chris announced, "the Happy Hens win their second challenge." The Hens all cheered, Angie looking especially proud of Madison for her courage. "Bunnies, you know the drill now, I'll see you tonight at elimination." All the Bunnies tensely glanced around at each other.
Out in the woods after the challenge, Ethan and Norm were meeting up to discuss the challenge. "Kind of hoping more secrets would get revealed," Norm said with a shrug. "The most interesting one of the day was probably Luna's." He sighed. "But, a win's a win. Who do you think is going to leave? I think it will be either Daniel or Kayla."
Ethan sighed. "At the moment, Kayla," he agreed. "But, that's not who would be the best option. Someone like Daniel is going to be left unchecked far too long. We should take care of that now, and Kayla's gonna do no favors to herself if she spearheads that campaign." His eyes lit up. "Norm, can you do something for me? I need you to convince Luna to vote Daniel. Once you do that, it should be settled."
Norm shrugged. "Sounds like a suicide mission for me and only me," he argued. "But, I am curious to what Luna is about, so I'll humor it. I agree Daniel could spell trouble later." He glanced around. "Fine. I'll do it. See you after their elimination." Norm then got up and maneuvered carefully to the Bunnies' area. Once he was gone, someone else showed up.
Ethan sighed. "You keep showing up in way too many inconvenient times for me to be happy about. If we weren't doing this deal, I'd probably have to send you home soon." Madison looked terrified at that. "Relax, relax, you're safe. What are you doing here, though? We won, didn't we? Unless you thought I could have separated you two a bit better, then of course I'll fix that."
"N-no, you did fine, promise!" the hopeless introvert countered. "Just, uh...I'm a bit scared that he thinks the secret I said is about him. I-it's not. I just figured I should tell someone." She had a fearful look in her eyes. "You've done great, so just keep at it I guess. He might be angry at you, so I just wanted to warn you."
The anti-villain sighed, rolling his eyes. "Chris painted you like some evil person today. I assume it's just something like 'you like someone' that isn't Jonathan, right?" Madison nodded nervously, blushing. "Typical Chris. Well, between Hannah, Jonathan, and myself, there are way too many targets to be at risk any time soon. But, to be safe, I wouldn't go around parading that secret to people.
Madison nodded understandingly. "Right...but...do you think I'd feel better if I told someone?" Ethan shrugged. "I mean, it'd be a bit off my chest, right?" Again, shrug. "Can I ask you something? Your answer...are you really only here to win?"
Ethan thought about that question again. "It's what I have to do. I've trained to be a winner, and I will do it. I was the youngest of six, then the youngest of seven when we adopted someone into our family. I spent my whole life being slower and weaker, so I had to do what it took to win." He sighed. "I get my hands dirty, which I hate. Even now, Daniel's probably leaving because of me." He sighed again. "Just once, I wish I could be everyone's hero."
"You're my hero," Madison said. "I-I mean, nothing! Oh no..." She sighed. "I'm going to tell someone. But, I specifically can't tell you." She gasped. "No, no, I totally just told you indirectly...I-" Before the hopeless introvert had any other chance to stumble over her words, she ran off into the woods, leaving Ethan stunned in place.
Madison: "Oh crap, I told him..." she said in between breaths. "I'm so getting eliminated for this...even worse, Ethan might get eliminated for this!" She took a few more deep breaths. "Sarah can help...I'll talk to her tomorrow."
Ethan: "She...likes me?" he asked, dumbfounded. "She likes me, who has been using her as an extra vote nearly half of the season so far. That's...so odd." He smiled to himself. "But, I really don't mind it." He repeated the words to himself. "I'm her hero..."
ELIMINATION IV, BOUNCING BUNNIES
Chris and Chef waited as the nine remaining Bunnies made their way all the way up Mount Karon. After their grueling hike, they sat down in their benches. In the back was Kayla, Kara, Luna, Randall, and Alexa. The front consisted of Helio, Daniel, Paul, and Flora. Chris stepped forward once everyone was situated. "Total suckage around the clock today, huh?" He taunted. "Not a lot of truth telling going on."
"Those questions were very targeted," Luna argued, "The Hens were very lucky that their questions were not nearly as embarrassing or degrading, with the obvious two ignored." She sighed. "Alas, I agree, our teamwork needs some serious help. I'm at fault today as well."
Chris nodded. "That you are, Luna," he reminded her. "But, let's see how you survive tonight." He picked up the first two marshmallows. "Paul, Flora, you two are safe." The pessimist and the pacifist grinned to each other as they got their marshmallows, Paul's grin much lesser than Flora's. "Also safe tonight, probably for telling the truth, Kara and Randall." The curious girl and the mountain man also smiled as they were deemed safe.
That left only four marshmallows left on the plate, but it quickly became three. "Helio." The strongman did not even blink as the marshmallow hit him in the head, crushing itself against his skull. "That leaves our liars and our resident team enemy from yesterday." Kayla flipped her hair back. "First liar out of the can, Luna, you're good to go." The psychic looked as though she knew that was coming and took her marshmallow without hesitation.
"Down to three..." Chris said eerily. "Kayla, you made a lot of enemies at the vote yesterday, and people hold onto grudges for more than a day. Daniel and Alexa, two liars who totally could have saved themselves by just telling the truth." All three of them looked very nervous about how this was going to go down. "Tonight's big loser is...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...Daniel!" Kayla looked surprised as she got her marshmallow. Alexa also let out a sigh of relief. "That's it for ya, you're gone." Some people gasped at the result, but Luna specifically nodded and smiled to herself.
Daniel sat by himself to process the elimination he just got. "Well, I guess I really only have myself to blame." He stood up and walked over to the Launch of Shame. "Sorry for freaking you all out today, I guess it won't happen again. See you guys." With that, Chris pressed a button, and Daniel was sent out of the island into the sky.
As the Bunnies went back down, Luna ventured to the confessional to check to votes. "I can't believe that actually worked out," she muttered to herself. As she got to the confessional, Norm exited. "Oh, it's you again. I sensed your presence before you came out."
"Uh-huh," the antisocial genius replied. "Well, you did your part, and that saved Kayla from being eliminated. Your team is in better hands now." Luna nodded in agreement. "In exchange, you tell no one of how you decided to vote for Daniel tonight, or you might be Daniel'ed yourself."
"I still do not understand why you'd help out our team like that," Luna countered. "Wouldn't the fall of a stronger player like Kayla benefit you immensely? Unless you think she still has a target on his back." Her eyes glowed. "Ah, you do. Interesting." She sighed. "Do whatever you want strategically. This is a game, and I respect your efforts." She cleared her throat. "I am off to check the votes myself and then get some slumber. Good night."
Norm seemed very off-put by the fact that she read his mind like that. "Um...yeah. Well, good to see you made it through too. I don't think I could have saved you if you were her target instead." He shrugged. "But, I truly don't care that much. Good night, maybe I'll see you around." As he walked off, Luna seemed very surprised by the boy's reaction.
Luna: "If I'm not mistaken, that was something nice Norm just said to me. Even I didn't see that coming." She giggled. "He might actually be a giant softie. Now, to see how things went down..."
"Isn't that interesting?" Chris asked as he and Chef were still atop Mount Karon. "Both teams are down to eight, and we aren't stopping now! Everyone seems to be making their moves on both teams now! Will Norm 'see Luna around'? Is Kayla done being everyone's enemy?" He laughed to himself. "Oh, probably not. But, find out tomorrow, on Total! Drama! Karon Island!"
Vote Confessionals:
Alexa: "Kayla and I are close, so I'm sticking with her. Sorry, Daniel."
Daniel: "I think I screwed up. My only shot is getting out Kayla."
Flora: "I'll continue to not vote. I hate this portion of the game..."
Helio: "Good friend stay. Me vote lazy lady."
Kara: "I love my sister, but I can't keep using my vote to bail her out...but I will anyway. Daniel."
Kayla: "I seriously don't think I have enough votes...but here goes nothing. I'm voting Daniel."
Luna: "I'll eliminate Daniel. I have no preference of who stays."
Paul: "This is our chance to get rid of a giant pest. Kayla goes."
Randall: "I think my pal Daniel is in trouble, I'll try and save him by voting Kayla."

Alright, again, this was one of my least favorite chapters to write last time, but filler extraordinaire Daniel bites it here, so it's plot from here on out! Let's go over the changes for this episode!
- I messed with the vote again. This was in effort to nerf Ethan again. Instead of him convincing everyone, he sends Norm to convince only Luna, which kicks off that plotline too. Flora not voting really makes the Bunny votes way easier too.
- I changed a bit of the challenge. Mike's presence was not needed, so I got rid of him, and I got rid of the super meta jokes about older seasons. I think I was salty about stuff when I wrote this the first time. Questions for the most part stayed the same, changing a few (Paul/Angie/Kara) to click more with newer plots in this version. Results are exactly the same too.
- Finally, the interaction between Madison and Ethan evolved a lot to a much better and flowing conversation where things are more open-ended, so anything that happens next episode can create more chaos. Speaking of next episode, the vote change totally cans the Bunnies' plot for the trust challenge, so I'll definitely be improvising a bit on that.
I think the changes here really fixed up a lot of the characters. I'm trying my best to give the main characters and everyone else spotlight, but with 20 (now 17 as of this episode) people it's very tough. I designed a lot of the season 1 characters to be filler, and while they grew to not be filler, the plotlines in this season specifically are...bad for them.
Anyway, that's the fourth camper gone! A lot to go, but it'll be worth it, I promise! Let me know what you thought of this chapter in the reviews! This is very much a work in progress so changes are things I am very open to. This whole story is about fixing things, and if you have things you think need fixing, I'd love to know! Anyway, see ya next time!
