New chapter, new replies!
lordgemini- Angie's big schtick is really not caring unless it affects her directly. For clarification, Jonathan's question was "why he thought", so it might be a reason the team wasn't with him, but more that he knew deep down why there was a rift on the team. Madison's whole plot is so difficult, because of the fact that character revolving around that are on a timer, just like everyone. Plots have to be finished in a certain time since I said I wouldn't re-write the elimination order.
Pretty big episode, but this one needs just as much help.
Episode 6: Cliques and Balances
Chris and Chef were in their secret room this time around, as Chef was working with a red switch on the side. Chris got started with the episode. "Last time, on Total Drama Karon Island, we finally finished up our season four truth challenge, where we asked questions to the competitors that would either embarrass them or ruin them." Clips were shown of Paul begrudgingly giving his answer and Angie sighing as she pressed the button in the lightning round. "We found out that Alexa does not have a boyfriend off of the island, and that Luna likes someone here, which is super creepy. We also found out that Madison has a secret, but we knew that one already." The next clips were of Alexa shocking her team, Luna shocking her team, and Madison's answer along with her talking with Ethan in the woods.
"In the end, due to the schemer team of Norm and Ethan, Norm convinced Luna to vote Daniel instead of Kayla, thus keeping her in the game and keeping Daniel out." The next clips were of Luna and Norm talking after elimination, and Daniel being sent into the sky, much to Kayla's relief. "Which team will lose today now that everything's evened up? Will the Bunnies find their spirit? Is Juan going to break? Find out today on Total! Drama! Karon Island!"
Opening Sequence
[Various cameras and other director equipment come popping out of various points on the island. Firstly, it appears out of a large tree, then out of a hole at the entrance to the mines, and finally, shooting all the way from the top of The Chasm.]
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine,
[The camera zooms all the way up at the top of Mount Karon. Kara is at the top, observing something as Kayla jumps off of the cliff and starts flying downward, opening up a parachute at the very last second.]
You guys are on my mind,
[The camera moves to the beach, where Gretchen falls off of the rocky cliff and lands face first into the water, still splashing around happily anyway. Nearby, Juan is relaxing in the water as Hannah pops up next to him, evidently annoying him.]
You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see,
[Near the beach, the fourth boat is still wrecked and crashed into a rock. Helio lifts the boat out of the water to move it, all while Daniel is still on it, shocked at the boy's strength. Meanwhile, Madison emerges from the boat wreckage as well, and Jonathan offers his hand to help, which she takes begrudgingly.]
I wanna be famous!
[Further into the woods, Paul is narrowly racing against Sarah in a race. The pessimist trips over Sheldon and crashes to the ground, upset over his loss because of it. Flora rushes over to check on the safety of both the boys.]
I wanna live close to the sun,
[At the base of Mount Karon, Randall is decked out in climbing gear, excited to start moving up the mountain. Next to him, Alexa, looks significantly disinterested, sleeping on a log instead of watching.]
Go pack your bags cause I've already won,
[In the forest, Chad is screaming and jumping around to different trees, while Angie stands in the middle of all of it, covering her ears and getting increasingly more agitated.]
Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day,
[As Chad makes more noises, Ethan and Norm watch from a tree in the distance, before both of them exchange an understanding nod. Next to them lies an empty poison bottle.]
Cause I wanna be famous!
[In the dining tent, Chef and Luna are conversing rather calmly, before a strike of lightning crashes down on the tent. Chef runs out, but Luna appears unfazed by it, instead calmly glancing upward.]
Na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na na na na!
[The camera moves to the dock, where Luna appears out of nowhere, spooking Paul and Kayla. The two glare at her, the former giving up on caring much faster than the latter.]
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
[The camera drops down to the mines, where Kara is lurking, and she presses a button that launches out a ball of fire. The fire reveals some sort of odd structure inside the mine, bursting into a big glow that transitions to the fire.]
I wanna be famous *whistling*
[Everyone is circled up at the fire. In the middle of all of it, Jonathan leans in toward Madison, who jumps backward, accidentally landing in Ethan's lap, where she is even more freaked out. Above them is the sign that reads 'Total Drama Karon Island'.]
Kara threw the door open to the girls' cabin for the Bunnies. She looked to be drenched in sweat. "It's so hot out there today," she complained. "I went to explore the island for secrets, but I can hardly think straight out there." She gasped. "What if the heat is like everything else? What if someone is creating these weather things!"
Luna sighed. "You are nearly certainly overthinking this," the psychic assured her. "But, I want to give you some warning about your sister." Everyone else turned to her as well. Luna decided to face Kayla instead. "You are dividing the team. I opted to vote Daniel instead of you because I thought you'd be more useful." She sighed. "Can you find it to work things out with Paul today?"
Kayla groaned. "With Pencil's big buddy? I don't think so. Paul is more of a hinderance to our team than an asset, and his gloomy personality will bring us down." Her eyes lit up. "That's it! There's five of us in here, do we wanna throw the challenge and take him out today? He's an athletic threat, this is our best chance!"
"Respectfully, I will do no such thing," Flora admitted. "I believe you two can work together, and that Paul's blunt thinking is a huge benefit that our team is lacking. We ought to keep him around." She sighed. "And, to be honest, I do not vote ever, so you only would have four votes. I dislike the hostile environment of elimination."
Alexa didn't bother responding, the underachiever simply stayed asleep through all of it. "We should team up together," Luna said quietly to Kara. "I believe my insight could be useful in gathering proof you need of this island's mishaps." Kara raised an eyebrow. "Of course someone like me knows about it. I knew before the first challenge."
Kara smiled. "Oh, that's perfect!" She shook hands with the psychic. "I hope we find something awesome together!" With a deep breath, the curious girl went back outside into the sweltering heat, leaving just Luna there with a grin on her face too.
The boys' side was still pretty tense. "We're getting outvoted every time," Paul complained. "At this rate the girls are just gonna gang up on us and take us out. There has to be some sort of way to divide them. If we can provoke Kayla the right way, we might be able to cause a rift between her and the others. Thoughts?" His miserable outlook turned quickly into a plan for action.
"I don't know if I like that," Randall admitted. "Sure, we could have coordinated our vote better to save Daniel, but is splitting the team in a civil war really the right way to go?" He shrugged. "Maybe you and Kayla can work out your differences, so next time we lose, it's just whoever did the worst in the challenge." He sighed. "I know I was against that before, but it's our best hope now."
"Me no care," Helio said firmly. He rose out of his top bunk and descended down to the floor, which cracked a bit as he landed. "I show everyone that me strong." He grabbed the doorknob, accidentally pulling it off. Seeing that, the strongman gently pushed open the now broken door. "Hot outside," he admitted as he left the cabin for the morning, leaving Randall and Paul to exchange an odd glance.
In the girls' side of the Hen cabin, Angie and Hannah were busy bickering on one end as Sarah and Madison were sitting with each other on the other. "Oh no..." Sarah said with a groan as she heard how last night went. "No offense, but you totally told him!" She got even quieter. "You...cannot...tell...Jonathan," she warned. "He'll go ballistic if he even gets a hint." She raised an eyebrow. "Can you tell me who the mystery boy is?"
"No!" Madison yelled out, even getting Angie and Hannah to stop for a second. Madison jumped at how quiet everything was, and in just a few seconds, the other two Hens were back to fighting. "I-it's way too embarrassing, but I promise it's a good person!" She glanced nervously at the swimmer. "How can I tell if he knows?"
Sarah laughed. "Oh, that's easy," she claimed. "Here's the deal. If they're quieter around you today, that means you made them nervous. That's a good sign. If they are distant, they're basically rejecting you." She sighed. "And...the worst case scenario, if he treats you exactly the same, it went right over his head. Does that make sense?" Madison nodded. "Great! Good luck! Oh, I'm so excited for you!" The two shard a quick hug.
Angie had then flicked Hannah, who screamed so loud it reached the boys' side. "We should have gotten rid of her day one," Jonathan complained. "What were some of us thinking, a potential picture challenge..." he glared right at Ethan. "Gretchen was at least morale help. You kept the walking liability around, and she is ruining us."
"First of all, you voted for her too," Ethan countered, "and second, she at least contributed to our win yesterday. So did Norm, Juan, and myself." The other two boys smiled at each other, knowing they helped with the win. "I stand by that decision, and the team agreed with me. She's annoying, but she might be useful."
Jonathan looked like he was about to say something, but someone else interrupted him. "For how much longer will she be useful?" Juan asked in perfect English, startling everyone but Norm. "Sorry, I'll keep this ruse up no longer. I need her gone. All of you need to help me with that today, or else we're going to keep losing challenges."
"You could speak English this entire time?" Ethan asked, surprised. "Actually, you've been responding to everything people have said to you without issue since the first day. I should have seen this coming." He smacked his head, upset that he didn't realize that himself. "But why hide that? You've been a great help to our team so far without it."
Juan shrugged. "Lay low. I wanted to coast a bit while I observed what was around me, but I cannot take her sounds here any longer." He pleadingly looked at all of them. "If you help me with this, I'll repay all of you in some way or another before any of us are eliminated. You have my word on that."
Norm interjected. "You could have asked me to do that myself," the antisocial genius offered. Ethan and Jonathan seemed confused at Norm's sentence. "Oh, yeah, I could tell from day one. Anyway, I don't plan on throwing a challenge, but if we lose, I'm in." Everyone else seemed to agree to that. Just then, an air horn sounded off, getting everyone's attention. "We'll discuss this plan later, but we are only four votes. We'll need one of the girls to help us out too."
Chris's voice sounded out over the speakers. "Morning, everyone! Get to the beach, where the sun will reflect on you all day today! Hope you brought sunscreen, because it's a scorcher out here today!" He laughed very evilly into the speakers. "Oh, sorry, that was still on."
Juan: He innocently waved at the confessional camera. "Perhaps faking the inability to speak English was not my brightest moment, but I figured it could be a helpful tool. But, it will be more helpful of me to be rid of Hannah for good. I have done enough observing. Now I need to find a way to pay all these boys back..."
As the two teams got to the beach, they were greeted by an odd setup. There were three circles of wooden platforms laid out on the beach- two small groups of four and one big circle of eight. "Good morning, teams," Chris greeted them, sporting a giant hat that doubled as a fan for him. "Today's first challenge is a balance competition, while also a trust exercise."
Chris pointed to Chef, who was holding a remote. "Chef's got a remote that can do all types of things to your platform as you stand on it. He can make it rumble, he can make them spin, and each of you has a button tied to it, so if you make him mad, he can just launch you off of it. Good practice for the Launch of Shame."
"So...we're really just balancing?" Kayla said with a scoff. "That doesn't seem so-" her mouth got quickly covered by Kara, but Kayla removed it. "No, I'm gonna say it. It doesn't sound so hard."
Chris smirked. "Well, the additional challenge is you have time to talk to your teams and try and patch things up. That gonna be hard for you, Kayla?" The brat scoffed at Chris. "Hen girls, you'll take small circle one, Hen boys, small circle two. And, Bouncing Bunnies, since teamwork in your team is just completely dying off, you all get the big circle of eight. And, since Kayla thinks this is too easy, everyone will be on one leg."
Everyone groaned as they got sent to their assigned platform. "Last person standing for their team will win an advantage for part two of the challenge today! That's right, today's a two-parter!" Everyone groaned again. "If you fall off or put your other leg down, you'll go and sit on the loser bench with everyone else until they are full of losers!" He rang the air horn. "Go!"
All sixteen players left lifted one of their legs up. Hannah had fallen immediately because of this. "Aww...No way..." she said with a sad sigh. She made her way over to the loser bench, putting the Hens at a disadvantage for the game already. Their disadvantage was quickly saved by Randall falling off from the Bunnies, making it tied up at seven left on each team.
Over in the boys' circle for the Hens, Ethan got everyone's attention. "If we're all in on this vote, we have a good shot. But, I want to do this safely, so we need to avoid a tiebreaker, and that means getting one of the girls to vote with us too. Obviously Hannah's not an option. Who do other people have in mind?"
Norm raised his hand next, wobbling a bit on his platform as he did that. "Angie will likely vote for her, but I don't think any of us actually want to approach her to confirm." They all looked over and saw the hothead's scowl. "Best to leave that be." Everyone seemed in agreement with that. Norm turned to Jonathan. "Aren't you close with Madison? Could she vote with us?"
Jonathan sighed. "I..." For the first time, he looked to be doubting himself. "I think I'm losing my pull with her. Somehow we haven't been as close the past two days. But, maybe if I step up my game...I could go another level." He nodded firmly. "Alright, I'll definitely pull something big today to make it happen. I am looking to whatever Juan has in mind to repay us."
Juan grinned, then went to a whisper to not alert the other circles. "Good, you should do whatever it takes to get that fifth vote. We're counting on you, Jonathan." The platforms then began to rumble, and Jonathan slipped off the platform. "Well, for the vote at least. Guess you're done for the challenge." Jonathan grumbled off to the loser bleachers as Ethan watched quietly.
Ethan: "Norm's setup was perfect," Ethan analyzed. "Madison is already voting with us thanks our deal, so Hannah's gone. I can also probably probe her into losing the second half of today..." He sighed. "I know I was done scheming, but Jonathan saying he was gonna pull a move on Madison made me nervous." He shuddered. "Oh, crap. I like her."
Over at the Bunnies, there was nothing but silence. Eventually, Flora was the first one to speak. "Okay, we need to talk as a team," the pacifist said aloud. "We lost two challenges in a row because of our petty arguments. They'll get the number advantage if we lose again. We need to find a way for all of us to work together."
"That's an amazing idea," Paul agreed quickly, surprising Flora. "But, that means we need one specific person in charge. I run my home sports clubs all the time. It should be me." Flora let out a sigh, knowing this was not the outcome she wanted. "Or...if anyone else has an idea, that would be okay," Paul corrected himself. Flora looked happier at that.
Kayla laughed. "Third string is gonna lead us? That'll get us third place in team challenges, which I guess is impressive since there's only two teams here!" She laughed to herself, no one else joining in. "It should be me," the brat assured her team. "I'm the sportiest person here, I play softball, volleyball, and I long jump. My diverse talents will lead us to certain victory."
Kara gave her sister a disproving look. "This is the issue, Kayla," the curious girl shot back. "You and Paul are so at each other's throats that our team would drop if either of you took the lead. We need a neutral third party who can take control of us, then make sure that all of us pitch in for strategy. We have so many unique skills, we ought to use them."
Everyone's platforms then began to spin around in circles. Helio flew off his platform, losing his balance, as did Paul. "I'm just spit-balling here," Alexa said quietly, "but we need someone who will reign us in. Flora, you reigned us in today, how about you do that?" Flora looked surprised at her nomination. "I mean, you seem to be one of the only people who doesn't have any enemies."
"I second that," Luna agreed, "even to the point where, and I'm sorry if this is exposing you, but Flora has not voted for anyone since arriving here." A few people looked shocked at that. "Flora refuses to vote, which means there is no one she is targeting. She's the perfect candidate for a leader." Alexa nodded, but as she did, a yawn came over her, and the underachiever also dropped into the dirt.
On the Hens' side, Angie and Ethan had just slipped off too. "Uh..." Flora said nervously, surprised to see people supporting her. "It is true that I do not want to lose any of you..." She grinned. "Okay, I'll do it. I'll try and bring us a victory today. Everyone take a deep breath, focus on staying balanced." As the platforms stopped spinning, Kayla got thrown off. "oh no..." the pacifist sighed.
Flora: "Oh wow," she mused to herself, "I didn't think they'd put me in charge, but Kayla seemed on board with it, and Paul also really seemed to like the idea." She smiled. "I hope I can do the best for my team!"
All that was left for the Hens was Sarah, Madison, Norm, and Juan. On the Bunnies, Flora, Luna, and Kara were left, everyone else was gone. "Okay," Sarah said to Madison as the swimmer glanced at the remaining Hens. "Are they still up on the platform?" Madison refused to answer that. "Come on, you can't give me nothing! How am I supposed to help you?"
"N-no!" Madison objected. She seemed to cower away even at the swimmer. "Sorry, I really don't want to say anything, it's going to end bad if I do." The two stopped when the shaking of the platforms got even more intense. "Oh no..." Madison lamented as her balance began to slip even more. Eventually, the hopeless introvert gave out and crashed onto the ground.
Norm was in a similar boat to Madison, struggling immensely once the platform shaking increased in intensity. The spinning came back too, which was enough for the antisocial genius to fall into the sand, and Kara too. "Well, that's enough of that, I guess," Norm complained to himself. "Up to you, Juan." Juan gave an indifferent look to Norm. He seemed to have other plans.
"Your balance is incredible," Flora gushed at Luna, who had no issues staying perfectly still on the platforms through all the movement. She had barely been affected by any of it at all. "You have to share your secret with me." The pacifist stumbled a bit more as the platforms got rougher. Luna looked weirdly concerned that Flora asked that of her, refusing to answer.
After a few more seconds, Flora had slipped too, leaving only Luna left for the Bunnies. "Crap, that's no good," Juan muttered to himself. "I suppose I've done enough help to the team to dodge suspicion." The platform intensity started to dwindle a bit. Juan took this chance to blow a raspberry at Chef, who growled in response. Chef took it upon himself to launch Juan off of his platform.
The Spaniard smirked as he began flying backward. In one motion, he spread his arms out, looking like he was trying to find a safe place to land, but ended up hitting Sarah instead. "Hey!" the swimmer shouted, but it was too late. Juan had knocked her off on his way to the sand, leaving only Luna atop of the platforms in the end.
Chris stood in shock, seeing Luna unfazed by anything this challenge posed. "Well, that seemed more like an attrition battle than a war," Chris admitted, "Hens, you should have had the psychic on your team. The Bouncing Bunnies win an advantage!" They all cheered as Chef brought in a box. "Your advantage, if you can lift it, is this harpoon!"
Chef punched the box open, revealing a harpoon that was likely previously mounted to a ship. It looked way too heavy to do anything with. "So...what do we do with that?" Kara complained, "No one besides Chef is going to be able to lift that!" Just to prove her wrong, Helio walked over to the harpoon, and with only one arm, picked the entire contraption up. "Right, Helio." Helio grinned to himself.
Chris pulled up a screen to explain the next half of the challenge. "Alright, time for part two of today's challenge. Half of your team is needed for this only, so I'm going to need four people to decide they want to bring their team victory." No one moved a muscle. Chris groaned. "Fine, I can explain it first. You'll need to find a way across The Chasm, everyone's favorite deadly ravine on the island."
"Only four of you need to make it across, and after a small run through the swampy area, you'll be set to win for the day." Chris laughed. "But! Here's the catch: the first person on each team to go all the way across The Chasm will win individual immunity, meaning, if your team drops the ball, it's not on you today." Everyone looked way more interested now.
Paul and Kayla stepped up instantly for the Bunnies, glaring at each other. "No way she's gonna volunteer herself again for-" Paul started, but Flora stepped up as the third volunteer. "Fine," Paul grumbled, "she can stay." Kayla raised an eyebrow at Paul's quick reaction. "Helio, we need you for strength." Helio came to round up the half-team, holding the harpoon on one of his arms.
At the Hens, things were still a bit halted. Juan's eyes lit up as he stepped forward. "Oh, pick me!" Hannah called out, jumping up and down with her hand raised. Without much objections, she joined Juan. "Madison?" Madison seemed shocked to have been picked by Hannah, but she took the chance and stepped forward for her team as well."
"This is your best shot," Ethan then whispered to Jonathan. Jonathan got the idea and stepped forward for the team, completing the set of four for the Hens as well. "Remember what we talked about too." Jonathan nodded, understanding exactly what he meant by that. Madison didn't make the same connection, and looked very confused by that.
Madison: "W-what did he mean by that?" she asked, panicked. "Jonathan's now stuck with me. This isn't part of the deal...I hope nothing bad happens while we're out in the woods."
Jonathan: He sighed. "I hate working with that saboteur," he stated, "but getting Hannah out today means Juan repays us. Plus, an individual immunity means I can go all out today and not have it affect me. I will get that vote."
"That's four from each," Chris stated, "thanks for taking your time on that, Hens." None of the Hens looked amused at that statement. "Get ready to rumble...go!" The groups of four got moving on their part of the challenge. "Well, everyone else, come with me. We'll wait at the finish line. Everyone else went with Chris and Chef to the other side of the race course to see the winner.
The Hens were instantly stuck at the start. "We need to find a way across quickly," Jonathan said, taking charge of the four of them. "Maybe there's a vine or something we can swing on to cross." He started searching the area. "Everyone, find a way to get us across, anything will do." Juan also began helping out, Hannah just blindly following around behind him.
Madison glanced back at the monitor Chris left. "It's still plugged in..." Madison noticed. She went to the back of it and began pulling out the wires, tying a few of them together and only getting mildly shocked. She let out a yell on one of the shocks.
"Oh, I hope you're okay!" Jonathan called out, rushing to her aid. "But, this is perfect, these tied-together wires will do just the trick." He smiled gently at her. "You're so smart."
"That's sweet, but we need to get going!" Hannah called out, pointing to The Chasm, where the Bunnies were slowly making it there, Helio in the front of the group with the harpoon in his hands. All of them finished tying the wires together, Juan moving a bit slower on the task than the rest of them. "Hurry!" Everyone ran to the edge of The Chasm, looking for their next move.
Meanwhile, the Bunnies were doing much better. "Helio, great work, put the harpoon down." The strongman nodded, plopping the massive object down, facing away from The Chasm. Paul sighed. "Turn it around so it's facing the way we need to go." Helio smiled sheepishly before he turned the harpoon around and placed it in the right direction this time.
Kayla grinned. "Looks like an easy win for us today." She grabbed the harpoon, aimed it properly, then fired the spear across The Chasm. The spear landed itself inside a large tree on the other side, creating a nice rope for everyone to climb across. "Great, and since I aimed so great, I'd be honored to be the first person to cross, just to make sure it's safe."
"Woah, woah, woah," Paul interjected. "Why do you get to be the one who gets the individual immunity? Did you think we forgot that's the big part of this?" Kayla nervously chuckled, clearly indicating she did. "Let's have us go last," he countered, "we've already been immune." He turned to Flora. "Flora agreed to help bring our team a win today," he argued, "we should honor her with the individual safety. Then Helio, then us."
Kayla groaned. "Ugh, whatever. They can go first if it pleases your highness so much," she mocked. Flora began climbing across, and once she was about halfway there, Helio got on the rope and started moving too. Kayla burst out into a giggle. "Oh my gosh," she laughed, "It's so obvious about your thoughts on Flora. Kind of embarrassing."
Paul scoffed. "You are making a heavy accusation," he said a bit stiffly. "I wasn't very impressed with her performance in the paintball challenge, and just thought that she could use the immunity, that's all." He grabbed onto the rope. "Unless you're trying to not have competition, which I can't rule out considering how you act around me."
The brat gagged viscerally. "Barf, I would rather drop off of this rope and go straight down into The Chasm's spikes at the bottom." She laughed again. "You can't really think I'd date you. But, since you seemed so nervous just now, I'll keep your crush a secret, until I get bored at least. Now hurry up and cross!" Paul groaned as he picked up the pace across the ropes.
Kayla: "What?" she asked innocently, "I can't mess with him just a bit? I want to see this loser team succeed too." She laughed. "After all, the more meatheads and weirdos I take to the merge, the better."
The Hens had just finished their wire and were ready to get caught up the Bunnies. "I'll go to make sure it's safe," Jonathan claimed, grabbing the wire first. The lover boy got his feet in the air before anyone could stop him, and he had taken then individual immunity for himself. "Feels good to be safe," he said slyly to himself as he made it all the way.
Jonathan walked around the swamp, gagging a bit at the fumes. "I hope the challenge isn't actually to survive this gas," he complained. He laid eyes on a giant mound of moss. "The rock under that must be gross," he said, pausing again. "Unless...there is no rock." Jonathan ran over and pulled out some of the moss. "Somewhere damp...like a giant pile of moss." Eventually he found it. He pulled out the giant Chris head from the ground. "I've got it."
He then noticed Madison coming across next from the wire. Jonathan quickly hid the idol in his pocket and approached her. "Glad you're safe," he said to her gently as she stepped away from the boy slowly. He noticed Juan's gaze from the top of the wire. "Oh, right, I forgot to mention to you, but a bunch of us are going to vote Hannah off if we lose, which is looking more and more likely. I'd love if you helped us out."
Madison hesitated. "Um..." She struggled to say much to Jonathan, and eventually closed her eyes and took a deep breath before asking, "A bunch? Who is a bunch? Like Ethan?"
"Surprisingly enough, yes," Jonathan confirmed. "We decided to temporarily truce for the day to deal with that common hinderance." He raised an eyebrow at the question. "Why are you specifically asking about him? You're not-"
Madison gasped, shaking her head violently. "No, no, I'm not liking him!" she fervently called out, hiding her face in her arms. She took a deep breath behind a tree before turning to Jonathan again. "Um...okay, I guess I'll help."
Jonathan smiled. "Oh, thank you, so much," he said gratefully. "I know you won't regret it. I can pay you back for this however you want." He took a deep breath. "If you want, I could even make a picnic or something here. Well, not here, since it's sort of gross here, but maybe somewhere more beautiful." He gazed into the girl's eyes, who looked like she was hating every minute of it.
Jonathan: "I've been shackled down by my feelings for her," he said boldly, "but if I tell her, I can go back to scheming against Ethan without any fear of him spilling things! It's perfect." He looked at the immunity idol. "Yep, I've never felt so safe in this game, it's the perfect time to do it!"
Madison shook her head. "T-there's no need to repay me with anything," she cried out, "I-I don't want to be a trouble for anyone, and Hannah's a bit scary, so I really don't mind..."
"I mind," Jonathan claimed boldly. "I would mind not paying you back in some way. Ever since I saw you on the boat on the way here, I knew you were the most beautiful person on this island. I won't wait any longer. Madison, I like you, a lot, and I refuse to have those feelings held against me. Please, let me pay you back."
Madison continued to back up, now completely against the tree. She looked like she wanted to say something, but the hopeless introvert was stunned speechless, almost unable to move too, paralyzed in fear. Jonathan's eyes lit up. "I know, if you don't want anything elaborate to pay you back, let's stick with something simple."
Jonathan leaned in for a kiss, which the paralyzed Madison was in no condition to block or run from. She couldn't pull back from it, and she had no choice but to let it happen. The two locked lips for a while, and eventually, Jonathan pulled back, leaving Madison to nearly feint. "We'll never make it at this point." He stared at Madison, who looked like she couldn't move still. "I'll get you there, don't worry."
As all of this was happening, everyone else was finally waiting at the finish. All four Bunnies were there, and even Juan and Hannah made it. Chris was standing there as Jonathan carried Madison over the finish line. "And there goes our shot at a winning streak," Angie complained. "That's another loss for us, and this one is so not on me."
Chris nodded. "Right you are Angie, but you're talking to the wrong guy." Angie gasped. "That's right, the Happy Hens are the last full team back, meaning The Bouncing Bunnies win! Not that it matters anymore, but the four Bunnies opted for Flora to have the individual immunity." The team actually looked happy about that choice. "Hens, your immune player tonight is Jonathan, that means no votes against him will count." Angie fumed upon hearing that.
The Bunnies all cheered, seeming to congratulate Flora for their win today. Meanwhile, Jonathan also looked extremely pleased with himself. Norm and Juan didn't seem to mind the loss either. Ethan seemed infuriated at the result, and Madison couldn't bring herself to look at anyone on the team. "See you all at the vote tonight, Hens!" Chris reminded them.
Madison: "Oh no..." she said, almost in tears, "I hated that, I hated that, I hated that..." she took a few deep breaths. "At least it won't be me going home, right?" She gagged in her mouth. "How can I even look at Ethan after that? Oh, I bet he hates me!"
Ethan: "I guess I had it coming," he admitted, an angry look on his face. "I let her talk me up, telling me I'm a hero. I'm no hero. I used her for a vote and now here's my payback." He sighed. "Turns out she was working with Jonathan this whole time. No other explanation for how things went today. I guess it's back to me and Norm alone."
On the girls' side of the Hen cabin, Madison was in tears, Sarah wrapping her arms around her. Hannah was the only one missing as Angie watched. "Take your time," Sarah told her calmly. "When you're ready to talk, you can, but both of us are here for you." She quietly glared at Angie, whispering to the hothead, "Get closer!"
Angie slowly got up from her bed and sat on Madison's bed with the swimmer. "We're...here for you..." Angie said slowly, before shaking her head, letting out a yell. "Screw this, I'm not doing it!" Sarah gasped. "Look, being nice is not my thing. You want payback on someone, I got that. But you need to tell me the deal and we'll take care of it."
"We?" Sarah asked, confused. "Okay, fine, we. But, we really need to know who's clogging your head right now." She sighed as she continued to comfort Madison. "Both of us want to help you...in our own way, but that's okay. But, it'd be a lot easier to help you if we knew what we needed to help you with, you know?"
After a few seconds of silence, Madison finally spoke up. "Jonathan...tree..." she took another deep breath. "Jonathan...lips...against the tree..." she was struggling to figure out how to say it without losing herself further, but it was more than enough for the other two to figure it out.
"That's all I needed to hear," Angie said, "even I can figure out what needs to happen from there." She turned to Sarah. "I know we hate her, but we have to keep Hannah around another challenge..." she then let out a yell as she punched the wall, this time her fist going all the way through. "He gave himself immunity! That conniving...augh!"
On the boys' side, there was a lot of yelling from Angie that could be heard. "Sounds bad out there," Norm said to no one in particular. Juan was laying on his bed, satisfied with how today went. Meanwhile, Ethan was on his bed, very upset by how today went. "Well, we have the vote in just a bit, hopefully we see Jonathan so he can tell us how today will go."
"Don't be ridiculous," Ethan shot out, "obviously she'll vote with him. Looked to me like he was very happy with how things went today, so I'm sure we'll hear from that...never mind..." He got up. "I'm taking a walk. Do not follow me." In a fit of rage, the anti-villain slammed the door behind him, leaving just Juan and Norm alone in the room.
After a few minutes, the door opened again. Jonathan came in this time. "Finally, you're back," Juan said with an impatient look. "Where were you? Never mind. How were things today? Do we have that fifth vote to make this happen?" He pleaded with the lover boy. "You already did amazing slowing us down to a loss today and then saving yourself from the blame. What did you do in that time?"
Jonathan smirked. "No need to worry about where I was," he told them. "About the challenge, I got us the fifth vote in that time," he told Juan. "Madison agreed without much issue to vote with us, and then to seal the deal, we..." his face turned red. "Actually, a gentleman never kisses and tells." Norm raised an eyebrow at that last statement, and was about to say something, but it seemed like that was not going to happen.
Ethan had returned, slamming the door again to get his attention. "That's not what happened," Ethan countered. "You totally assaulted her in the swamp! I don't know how you think that'll help you in this game, but it won't!" He took a bunch of loud breaths. "Juan, you're lucky. If he hadn't gone and taken immunity for himself, I would have changed my vote." He stormed out again.
Chris's voice then came on the loudspeakers to save all the Hens from whatever pain was going on in the cabin. "Happy Hens, I know it's been two days, but there's no way you forgot how the vote goes. Head up to Mount Karon and get ready to have your fate sealed!"
Norm: "Ethan is very conflicted right now," he said analytically. "He looks like he's believing eight different things at once." He groaned. "The easy fix is to talk to the girls today and see what their thoughts on this is, but that's a big chore I'm not interested in doing. I hope he's back to normal soon. I like crafty Ethan more than...whatever this is."
ELIMINATION V, HAPPY HENS
The eight remaining Hens arrived at the fire atop Mount Karon, where Chris and Chef were waiting for them, only seven marshmallows on the plate this time. In the back row, Jonathan tried to sit next to Madison, but Angie and Sarah jumped in the way and took the middle seats in the row. Up front, Hannah sat next Juan and Ethan sat next to Norm.
"Campers," Chris said to them as he held up the first marshmallow of the night, "seven of you will get to see tomorrow. The odd one out gets put on the Launch of Shame with comedically quick timing." He tossed the first marshmallow out. "Jonathan, for better or for worse, you earned individual immunity today." Jonathan smirked as he grabbed his immunity.
Chris held up two more marshmallows, the other seven waiting nervously to get one. "Juan and Angie, you two are safe too." Juan looked happy to be safe, but unsurprised. Hannah looked happy for Juan he was safe. Angie grabbed her marshmallow, clenching it like a stress ball in her hand. "Sarah, you're safe too." The swimmer grinned as she took her safety symbol.
There were now already only three marshmallows left on the plate. "Four of you still without safety, who will it be? It won't be Ethan going home." The anti-villain caught his marshmallow, seemingly annoyed with the whole process. Hannah began getting nervous, as did Norm, who glanced suspiciously at Jonathan. "Madison, you're safe too." The hopeless introvert sighed in relief, even though she didn't seem surprised to get a treat.
"And then there was one," Chris said, holding the final marshmallow. "Hannah, you can't possibly be surprised at this point that you're here. You've failed in nearly every challenge that you've done." He turned to Norm. "Norm, your inability to make friends may be starting to bite back." The genius rolled his eyes. "Tonight's loser and Launch of Shame candidate is...

...Hannah!" Hannah gasped as she turned back to Jonathan, who merely shrugged indifferently. "Yes, yes, always a shock. Launch of Shame is that way." The social media freak sighed as she walked over. "If you have any final words, now would be your time to say them." Hannah was about to speak, but someone else cut her off.
"I'll speak instead," Juan said, standing up. Angie and Sarah gasped at the reveal that Juan could speak English. "Hannah, I've voted for you nearly every shot I've had so far. You need to get a clue." Hannah gasped again. "Bye." Chris launched Hannah out into the sky, and Juan made his way back to his seat with a grin on his face, when he noticed something in Jonathan's pocket. "Oh, crap..." he whispered to himself.
Angie stood up. "Look, while I don't necessarily disagree with your choice," she said, "I voted for Hannah too, but what about you? Why are you all of the sudden able to speak perfect English? Why would you keep that from us?" Juan shrugged. "You lost some trust from me today. But I have bigger fish to fry." She glared at Jonathan as she walked away.
Juan: "Admittedly, I could have kept that a secret from the girls a bit longer," he analyzed, "but it felt so good to tell Hannah off like that finally." He let out a sigh of relief. "She's gone...oh, and Jonathan definitely has an idol. If those girls are planning something, I might need to make sure I pay those boys back tomorrow."
Ethan: He was sitting, reading through the votes for tonight. "Guess evil aka me, never rests...I should make sure I find out why Norm was in the bottom two." He got to the final vote, Sarah's. "What?"
"Woah, how did that happen?" Chris asked, shocked, "The people with a big voting bloc used their voting bloc! But, that might not happen tomorrow, so we'll see! Will Jonathan dodge his retribution? Is Ethan mad? Can Kayla actually keep a secret? Find out next time, on Total! Drama! Karon Island!"
Vote Confessionals:
Angie: "Well, Jonathan's immune, that's annoying. I guess I'll go with the next best option. Bye, Hannah."
Ethan: "Ugh, I'll make him pay, or me pay...I don't know...at least I can keep one promise and vote Hannah."
Hannah: "Jonathan told me the only way to save myself is to vote Norm. I'll give it my best shot."
Jonathan: "I want whatever Juan has in store for me. I'm voting Hannah."
Juan: "Hannah leaves today...that's good to say in English."
Madison: "Hannah..."
Norm: "Hannah has definitely overstayed her welcome. Let's take care of this."
Sarah: "I don't care if he's immune, I won't let him assault my friend. I'm voting Jonathan."
Total: Hannah (6), Norm (1), Jonathan (1, VOID)
Eliminated: Hannah
Team Standings:
Bouncing Bunnies: Alexa, Flora, Helio, Kara, Kayla, Luna, Paul, Randall
Happy Hens: Angie, Ethan, Jonathan, Juan, Madison, Norm, Sarah
Eliminated: Gretchen, Chad, Sheldon, Daniel, Hannah
This one had a bit less work than I was expecting, mainly just keeping consistency from new re-write chapters, but let's check out today's changes:
- I messed with the order a bit of who fell when, especially on the Bunnies. This let the Bunnies do their new "we need a leader" plot. That also meant I had to mess with how Juan threw the balance challenge, with his old strategy requiring talking.
- The second half of the challenge has four people instead of three. This adds Juan to the mix properly and lets Paul and Kayla do their banter regarding Flora while also keeping Helio, the only person who can lift the harpoon, on the team.
- Juan is revealed to speak English in this chapter instead of never revealing it at all. This is supposed to be his big moment, so in addition, I had him discover Jonathan's idol instead of Norm. This also makes more sense since Juan's payback requires all the boys to stay in the game.
- Ethan has no reason to be mad at Jonathan and Madison in a normal setting, so I decided to not have the couple interact post-challenge, and leave that for next episode. Sarah is much better at being Madison's friend this time too.
- According to the vote confessionals, Jonathan is the reason Norm is in the bottom two. Totally never mentioned that last time. Also, Ethan checks the votes at the end instead of Norm, just to make things a bit easier.
- On the Bunnies' side, Flora becomes team leader. I felt like she needed to do something. Kara and Luna only have one team-up discussion instead of two. And, finally, Paul and Kayla banter ensues.
After the next chapter which obviously needs help, we go into the next phase of the season. Very excited to see how I can make those middle chapters more interesting this time around, and obviously with Juan, Flora, and more being more present, I think that will help a lot. Anyway, let me know how you thought this chapter went in the reviews! I'll see you next time!
