Jack has been around for a few years now, and he was starting to get a hang of things. He knew how to fly well enough, he knew a lot of his powers, and he kind of knew what his job was. So he fulfilled it.
He flew around the globe ensuring winter reached everywhere whether that was bringing in the cold, or giving places their first snow of the season. After he ushered in the signs of winter, it wasn't uncommon for him to stick around and see what the people did. When it snowed, the adults often grumbled and complained, but the kids reacted very differently. They would grab their warmest clothes, and go outside and play. They would grab their sleighs, or anything flat really, and they would slide around by being pulled or if they found a hill, they would slide down that. Jack would follow along and try to play with them, but they couldn't see him and they walked through him often because he didn't know he was so close to them. So he would fly away and watch from a distance.
On one of these days, after it got dark and they all went to bed, Jack laid in a tree and watched the sky. He watched as clouds formed, and a light snow began to fall. But soon, the snow came down harder, and the wind picked up. It got to the point where he could hardly see his hand in front of his face, let alone a tree that was close by. He flew up towards the clouds, staff in hand, and began concentrating on making the snow stop or redirecting it towards a place that didn't have as many people. But there was nothing he could do. He didn't create this storm, and he couldn't make it stop. So he flew back to his tree, and waited for it to end.

It has been over 100 years since Jack has become the winter spirit. He is now very good at flying. He flies all around the world doing his job, and having fun too. He knows how far away he should stay from the kids and he is very rarely walked through now. His season is about to end, but he wants to leave a small blanket of snow in this place before he flies to the other hemisphere. While it is snowing that night though, someone finds him. They say, "Jack! What are you doing? Your season is over. It's our turn now."
"I know, I'm leaving tomorrow. I just thought I'd leave a little bit…" He is interrupted by being pushed out of the tree he was in. He lands hard on the ground, and he loses his breath. He stares upwards, trying to breathe, when he is kicked in the side. He curls in on himself, still unable to breathe. Then, he feels a hit come down on him on his back. He manages to pull in a breath and just curls into himself even more as hits, punches, and kicks rain down on him. They get every part of him. His arms, legs, and back will be heavily bruised the next morning. Finally, the hits stop coming, and he slowly uncurls, intent on leaving and hiding in Antarctica for a bit. But, as soon as his face is out of his arms, a punch comes for it. The person keeps punching him and he is soon unconscious.
He wakes up much later. As far as he can tell, it has been at least 2 hours because it is now daytime. There is no one around and he is in so much pain. He curls into himself and groans. Not only is he hurt, but a blizzard started while he was unconscious. The snow around him has to be at least a foot deep. He sits up, grimacing, and grabs his staff. He cautiously stands up, with his other arm wrapped around his torso, and flies towards the clouds.
He tries to stop the storm, but he is in too much pain to properly focus and redirect it. So, instead, he leaves for Antarctica. He will sleep away the injuries and the other hemisphere will have a warm start to their winter.

Jack was facing Pitch. Pitch had a hold of Baby Tooth, and he wouldn't let her go unless he gave him his staff. So, turning his head down, he reluctantly handed Pitch his staff. He knew he could do some stuff without it and at least Baby Tooth would be fine. But Pitch didn't hold up his end of the deal. Instead he threw her into a nearby crevice in the ice and then snapped his staff in two. Jack folded over himself. Breaking the staff pained him because it held a part of his magic, and therefore himself. It was like breaking a bone, but everywhere. While he was in pain, Pitch used his sand to throw him into the same crevice, along with his broken staff. Jack hit the wall hard, and was briefly knocked out but he woke up when he hit the ground. He groaned, but then remembered Baby Tooth was down here too. He looked for her and found and he crawled towards her and picked her up. She appeared to be fine, but was cold. He put her in his pocket to keep her warm. Meanwhile, the wind was starting to pick up, and snow was starting to fall. Jack knew this had to be because of the broken staff. He crawled towards the two pieces and tried to fix it but he couldn't do it yet. He didn't have confidence in himself, so the storm grew bigger and there wasn't anything he could do to stop it.

It has been over 350 years since Jack has risen out of the lake. A lot has changed since then. The two biggest changes though would have to be that he has friends now who he interacts regularly with, and he has believers. In fact, he has a lot.
Since their battle with Pitch Black, his believer count has been increasing steadily and before he knew it, he had believers all around the world. He was going to catch up to the guardians any year now. With the increase of believers, his power has also increased and he has not totally adjusted yet.
He was bringing a small snow flurry to the midwest of North America, but he forgot to account for his power increase, and the flurry quickly became a blizzard. He flew around the storm trying to contain it where there were a small amount of people, but there was nothing he could do. The wind grew and the snowflakes got bigger and wetter, while the temperature kept dropping. At this point, Jack could barely see his hand in front of his face, and he knew there was nothing he could do, so he flew to the ground and laid down in a tree. He may not be able to stop it, but he wasn't going to leave it unattended.
#1 The one time he could stop it
It has been almost 400 years since Jack became the winter spirit. He has done a lot and learned a lot but sometimes, his powers still get the best of him. One of these times is when he is giving snow somewhere in Canada. His powers all of a sudden came out of his control, and a blizzard started. He tried to stop it on his own but he couldn't. Luckily, North was nearby, and saw Jack in mild distress. He stopped and said, "Jack, what is wrong?"
"I can't stop this blizzard North. It's out of my control!" he almost screams.
""Maybe now, but we can get your control back."
"How?"
"First, you have to relax."
"But, the blizzard…"
"Will be fine for a moment. First, you must relax, and then focus on your power."
"Okay." Jack takes a few moments, and empties his mind about what the blizzard could do. Then he closes his eyes and mentally reaches into himself to focus on his power.
North senses this, saying, "Okay. Now focus on the part that would be in charge of this, and get it under control. Do this in whatever seems best to you."
Jack hears this and finds the part of his power that is spinning wildly out of control. He mentally wrestles it and eventually, he has won the wrestling match and the power has been controlled. Jack opens his eyes and he sees North, and a gentle snowfall. Jack smiles, saying, "North! I did it!"
"I knew you could Jack! Remember this if you ever need control again."
"I will North. Thank you!" and with that, Jack flies into the Canadian wilderness to continue spreading snow and fun times.
AN: I know this website is beginning to fail and many people haven't been receiving update notifications, but if you do, these are all written, and edited and will be posted by the end of the year (or maybe today or next week depending). I have also been posting these onto Ao3 under the same name but I also have it linked in my profile. I hop you enjoy.
