An Outfoxed Vixen
Chapter 2: The Fox Hunt
Written by: KingSnow5092
A long ride back home to Diane's house was a very quiet one because nobody spoke a word after what had happened at the gala earlier it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop after Wolf made sure that nobody was following them he slowed down his speed so he doesn't get pulled over by a cop to get a ticket and have Diane arrested. He sighed in relief after he had checked to see if anyone was following them then he turned to Diane who was sitting on the passenger side of the car. Diane was resting her head on her paw on top of the armrest of the car door as she looked down with a sad face. Wolf looked at her with sympathy feeling sorry and sad for his fox friend after what had happened earlier.
He then turned his attention back to the road as he sighed sadly he was also angry at the rabbit who had exposed her secret to everyone in the gala he couldn't believe that her assistants she had hired were really her old bullies from high school who wanted revenge against her after she had pantsed their leader. Granted, what she did was wrong but what the rabbit did was even worse. He had insulted her dead father it was one thing to bully someone because they are different but insulting the dead loved one was going way too far! He growled thinking about that rabbit bully. The rabbit was lucky that he was a changed wolf now if he was still a criminal he would've ripped them to shreds for what he did to his fox friend.
He shook his head to get those thoughts out of his head he didn't need to think about that right now he needed to help out Diane with her problems and what he should do to solve it. They had reached Diane's house as Wolf parked in the driveway. After Wolf parked, Diane quickly unbuckled herself, she got out of the car, she ran up to her house, she pulled out her key, she unlocked and opened the door, she ran inside, and she slammed the door behind her. Wolf sat in the car for a while as he stared at the house with a sad face. He didn't blame her for wanting to go inside her house and stay here he would've done the same if the same thing had happened to him.
He sighed as he unbuckled himself, he got out of his car, he locked it with his car key remote, he walked up to the house, he opened the door, he stepped inside, he closed the door behind him, and he looked around the living room to see where Diane had gone to.
He searched the whole house but there was no sign of Diane anywhere he placed his paw on his chin to think about where she might be then he snapped his fingers as he remembered the secret room she had shown him after she had broken him and his friends out of prison. He walked up to the microwave, he put in the code, the voice confirmed the code to be correct, it welcomed who it thought was Diane, the refrigerator moved away, the elevator rose up to the kitchen, he stepped inside the elevator, he rode down the elevator, he stepped out of it, and he stood in the secret room as he looked around to see where Diane was.
He looked around until he spotted Diane at the end of the room she was sitting down on her knees on top of the panel she was looking down with her eyes closed and her paws clasped together like a child who was sitting in time out for what they did wrong by their parents or teachers. Wolf walked up to her, he got up on the panel, he sat down on his knees in front of her, and he placed his paw on her shoulder with a concerned look on his face. Diane lifted her head up to see Wolf sitting in front of her without another word she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close to her as Wolf wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him too. Wolf and Diane embraced as the wolf rubbed her back up and down to comfort her as the fox cried into his chest while tugging at his shirt to relieve some tension.
"Oh, Wolf, it's terrible! Everyone now knows the truth about me being The Crimson Paw they all hate me now I've lost my job; I've lost some of my friends, nobody else trusts me anymore, and now I'm no longer the governor of this city!" Diane shouted between sobs.
Wolf sighed as he cuddled his head against hers.
"Diane, that's not true not everyone hates you I still love you and my friends love you too sure we were angry that you talked shit about us on the news a long time ago but we're over that now and we still love you Diane no matter what happens we're your friends and we will always love you. Even me, I'll always love you Diane because you're the best girlfriend I could ever asked for." Wolf assured her softly.
Diane raised her head up from his chest as she stared at him with tears streaming down her face.
"Really?" She asked.
"Really!" He answered, nodding his head.
Diane smiled brightly as tears of joy streamed down her face then she hugged him even tighter as she buried her head into his chest and sobbed tears of joy as Wolf hugged her even tightly as he cuddled his head close to her head. Suddenly, they heard the elevator coming down toward the secret room. As they did they quickly pulled away from the hug, they turned to the entrance, and they saw four shadow figures inside of the elevator coming down to the room! They both gasped in shock as they glanced at each other knowing that it might be Trickster and his goons along with a cop coming to arrest Diane!
"Oh no! It's Trickster and his goons coming to arrest me!" Diane exclaimed placing her paws on her face.
"But who's the fourth figure?" Wolf asked, pointing to it with his thumb.
"It must be one of the cops from Misty's force coming to help them arrest me." Diane answered shrugging her shoulders.
Wolf then put on the determined face as he turned to the vixen.
"Well, we're not going down without a fight!" Wolf shouted as he pounded his fist into the palm of his paw.
Diane then put on the determined face too and nodded to him in agreement.
"You're right, Wolf, if we have to go down fighting then so be it!" Diane shouted.
The canines then jumped off the panel, they marched toward the figures, the figures stopped in front of them, the canines got into the fighting positions with their fists out ready to take on the figures in front of them, they looked at each other, nodded, they looked back at the figures, and they jumped at them while letting out a battle cry! But as they did the figures held out their arms in defense.
"NO! WAIT! IT'S US!" One of them shouted.
Wolf and Diane stopped in front of the figures with confused looks on their faces they had recognized that voice somewhere then the figures stepped into the light to reveal themselves as Snake, Shark, Piranha, and Webs with scared faces and their arms held out to defend themselves. Shark was the one who shouted for them to stop. Wolf and Diane sighed in relief as they smiled to her friends. They were happy to have known that it was just them and not the cops or the bounty hunters coming to arrest Diane.
"Oh, thank God! It's only you four!" Diane exclaimed cheerfully with her paw on her chest.
"Yeah, we're sorry we thought you were the bounty hunters and the cops coming to arrest Diane." Wolf apologized as he scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"That's okay, we understand and we're sorry we scared you we've should've let you know that it was us." Shark apologized as he waved them off.
"We forgive you!" The canines told him in unison.
Wolf then realized something.
"Hey! Wait a minute! How did you guys get in here?" Wolf asked.
"Simple, we've followed you here after we saw you through the window putting in the code for Diane's secret room with help from Webs' telescope we went inside to follow you and the front door was also unlocked." Snake explained.
Diane turned and glared at the wolf with her paws on her hips as Wolf blushed a bright red and grinned sheepishly at her.
"Sorry, Diane but you also forgot to lock the front door." Wolf said, shrugging his shoulders.
Diane gasped as she blushed a bright red while grinning sheepishly and shrugging her shoulders too.
"But don't worry we locked the door for you good and tight just in case." Shark assured them.
The canines smiled as they looked at the large fish with relieved looks on their faces.
"Thank you, Shark." Diane said.
"You're welcome!" Shark said as he bowed to her.
After that, the four of them looked and walked around the room they saw it before on the movie but they wanted to see it in person Shark was looking at the shelf with tiny gadgets, Webs was looking at all the large gadgets, Snake was looking at the weapons, and Piranha was looking at the suits while feeling them for texture.
"Wow, girl! You have more tech stuff than I do!" Webs exclaimed with her legs on her face.
"This stuff is awesome!" Shark exclaimed as he pointed to the small gadgets.
Shark then noticed a small yellow lipstick dispenser with red lipstick sticking out of it he then grabbed it, examined it very closely, and he turned to the vixen to ask her a question.
"Hey, Diane! What flavor to lipstick is this?" Shark asked.
Wolf and Diane gasped as they reached out their arms to stop the shark from making a mistake.
"Shark no!" She shouted.
"I wouldn't touch that if I were you!" Wolf warned him as he wagged his finger at him.
"Why not?" Shark asked in confusion.
Shark then turned the lipstick dispenser but as he did a large flame shout out of it! He yelped in fear as he backed away and he quickly turned it off and looked at the canines with a horrified and confused look on his face wondering what kind of lipstick dispenser he had in his fins!
Wolf and Diane slyly smiled at him with their arms crossed.
"That's why not." Wolf answered, pointing at it.
"Yeah, that's a blow torch and also not really your color." Diane told him as she shook her head.
Shark grinned sheepishly as he placed the blow torch back on the shelf.
"Is there anything else here, amiga?" Piranha asked.
"Why yes as a matter of fact there is!" Diane answered as he held up her finger.
She then motioned them to come closer they all walked up to her, they stopped, and she pointed to the computer screen behind her.
"This is my big computer and this panel is the keyboard for my computer I use this computer to let me know where to strike, what locations to go to, and even hack into systems even the government systems." Diane explained.
"WOW!" They four of them exclaimed in amazement.
The vixen then turned around, she turned on the computer with the panel, the screen lit up with her logo, she then shown them all files on the computer, the locations, and the other stuff on the computer she used when she was the thief back then.
Webs jumped on top of the panel to get a closer look at the screen as he stared in amazement she then turned to her fox friend and said. "Wow! You really are a hacker, like me!"
Diane nodded to her in agreement.
"But wait a second you used to be the governor couldn't you have gone into the system yourself?" Shark asked, shrugging his shoulders.
"Yeah, but I have to do paperwork." She answered as she blew a raspberry in the middle of her sentence.
Snake nodded and said. "Yep! That's makes sense to me."
She then turned off the computer after she was done showing her friends all the stuff on it, she turned around, and said. "That's concludes the tour of my secret room."
Everyone clapped and cheered as Diane curtsied to them for their wonderous applause then suddenly they heard a loud vibrating sound coming from somewhere they looked and looked but they couldn't find the source of the sound anywhere then Diane suddenly felt it in her pockets. She looked into her pocket to see that it was her cellphone going off on vibrating mode she had forgotten that she left her phone on silent because it might interrupt the movie they were watching back in the gala so she pulled it out of her pocket, she excused herself from her friends, they nodded to her, she walked around the panel, she stood in front of the computer screen, she pressed a green button, she held it up to her ear, and she answered her phone.
"Hello?" Diane asked.
"Hello, ex-governor Foxington." Misty answered.
"Chief? Listen about what happened earlier-" She began to explain but was cut off by the woman's angry voice.
"Cut the crap, Diane! Like a fool I've allowed you to be around all the security areas, have access to anywhere, and let you be around priceless artifacts when you could've swiped them so easily and I would've never suspected that it was you who had stolen them. We've even trusted you in the care of the Golden Dolphin award and you could've swiped it without us even suspecting that you had stolen it because we had trusted you all these years but now we don't trust you anymore and we should've gone deeper into your background to see if you were really the thief or not and it turned out that you were the thief with help from our new governor and hero Trickster the bounty hunter." Misty explained angrily.
Diane sighed sadly and said. "Look, Chief, you have every right to be angry at me it's true I did try to steal the Golden Dolphin award one time and I did steal the Zumpango diamond but I'm not like that anymore I'm a changed fox now if I could go back through time and change anything I would stop myself from becoming the criminal."
Misty just scoffed at her.
"Bullshit! We also did the lie detector test on Marmalade and it turned out that he was actually telling us the truth that you are indeed The Crimson Paw and you did steal the Zumpango diamond from the museum and you even had a nerve to wear it around her finger like it was a ring! I can't believe how stupid I was to have missed that! I should've taken a better look at your ring to see if it actually was the Zumpango diamond! As of now, we have shortened his sentence of your crimes but we are still holding him in jail for his real crimes. I should've arrested you a long time ago, Foxington! I was so stupid to have arrested the wrong person when I should've arrested you instead!" Misty shouted.
"Chief there was no way that you would've known that he wasn't The Crimson Paw after all the diamond did fell out of his pocket after he stole it from me when he captured me and Wolf and put us in the death trap! It was the honest mistake! But Marmalade actually did the steal the meteorite, framed my friends, and tried to take over the world with the money from the charity event at the gala." Diane explained in a pleading tone.
"Ha! Another lie! While it is true that Marmalade did commit those crimes there was no way that he would've stolen the diamond right off you surely you have planted it on him in order for him to take the fall for you and Trickster made sure of that with his lie detector ring we wanted to double check to see if Marmalade was telling the truth and he was! You're just digging yourself deeper into the hole Diane you might as well just grab a shovel and dig your own grave now because Trickster and his friends are coming to your house to have you arrested and take you to his own jailhouse where he keeps his criminals where they belong it's like maximum security prison but it's his own prison!" Misty told her.
'WHAT?! You can't be serious!" Diane exclaimed.
"Oh, I'm serious alright! I would arrest you myself but I don't even want to look at you or have you in the prison cell where I could keep my eye on you because you have broken my trust and our friendship is over! I'm so disgusted and angered by what you did I don't even want to be around you when you get arrested! So, I made sure Trickster and his friends have you arrested in their own prison where scum like you belong! So, you better get ready because he's coming for you right now so goodbye Diane and good riddance!" Misty shouted as she slammed the phone in her office.
Diane grimaced at the sound of the phone slamming she then hung up her own phone, she placed it back into her pocket, she looked down with a sad face, she walked slowly around the panel, she then sat back down on it, and she rested her head on both of her paws as she sighed sadly knowing that her life was over as soon as Trickster and his friends get to her house she was going to the maximum security prison which was owned by Trickster forever and she was probably going to get tortured by him forever! There was no way out of it her life was over and she might as well give up and accept her punishment from her old school bully.
Her friends stared at her with concerned faces then Wolf walked up to the vixen, he sat down next to her, and placed his arm around her.
"Diane? What's wrong?" He asked her.
She turned to the wolf and explained everything that Misty had told her after she was finished she then covered her face in her paws as she began to sob some more everyone gasped in shock at what she had just told them they knew Misty held grudges but they had NO idea that she would go THAT far! Misty must've felt so hurt and betrayed by Diane that she must have decided to let her bullies who are bounty hunters now do her job instead of herself! It was very clear to them that their friendship between Misty and Diane was over! They looked at one another then they turned back to Diane thinking about what they should do for their friend who was in a lot of trouble right now.
"Diane? What are you going to do?" Shark asked.
Diane removed her paws from her face as she looked up at her friends with a determined look on her face as she knew exactly what she should do now it wasn't a good choice and it was the coward's way out but it was much better than dealing with her bullies by taking her to their own jail for whatever punishment she might receive from them. She then stood up from the panel, she walked passed her friends, she stopped, and she turned around in front of the elevator as she stared at her friends with her determined face still on. They looked at her in confusion wondering what she was going to do right now as she stood in front of the elevator.
"There's only one thing that I can do and that's to leave this country and never come back!" She shouted as she held up her finger.
"WHAT?!" They all shouted in shock and disbelief.
She then got into the elevator, she rode up to the kitchen, she got out of the elevator, she walked down the hallway, she entered her bedroom, she grabbed her black duffel bag, which was resting at the side of the room, she placed it on top of her bed, she then unzipped it, and she walked over to the dresser to begin packing up her stuff.
Back in the secret room, Wolf and his friends were standing there in shock as they looked at the direction the fox had gone to then Wolf shook his head to snapped himself out from his shock then he walked over to the elevator, his friends followed him, they all got inside, they rode up to the kitchen, they stepped out of the elevator, Webs closed the secret room, the refrigerator then moved back to its original spot, they walked down the hallway, they entered the bedroom, and they stood inside the bedroom to see Diane packing up her clothes inside her duffel bag to leave forever. Wolf quickly ran toward her and he grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving. She turned to the wolf with a concerned look on his face but she glared at him as she tried to pull away from but his grip was too strong for her.
"Let me go, Wolf!" She shouted.
"No! We won't let you leave!" Wolf shouted back.
"Wolf! I have to leave because those bounty hunters are after me and you know they're bullies from my past and they might torture me for revenge after what I did to them back in school especially Trickster since I was the one who had pantsed him!" Diane argued.
"I know that but if you leave we'll never see you again!" Wolf argued back.
"That's exactly my point! If nobody knows at I'm leaving then I'll be safe forever!" She shouted.
"But Diane-" Wolf began before he got cut off by her.
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Diane screamed.
Wolf quickly released her arm as he backed away from her with a scared face as he panted heavily. Their friends stared in shock at the scene before them then Diane realized what she had done she gasped as she covered her mouth in guilt and shame. She stared at the wolf with a sad face as tears began to well up in her eyes as she clasped her paws together.
"I'm sorry Diane but I was only trying to help." Wolf said in a shaking voice.
Diane shook her head and said. "No, Wolf! I'm sorry."
Wolf looked at her confused wondering what she meant by that.
"I'm sorry Wolf I shouldn't have snapped at you like that I'm just so scared about what's going on right now with everyone knowing my secret, the bounty hunters are coming for me, and the worst part is nobody trusts me anymore!" Diane said as her voice began to break down.
"Diane! That's not true, well, some of it is but not all of it!" Wolf told her softly.
"Yeah, Diane, we still love you." Snake said.
"That's right! You're the amazing amiga we ever had!" Piranha agreed as he swung his arm across the air.
"Yeah, you were the only one who had believed in us when we got framed for stealing the meteorite when nobody else did." Shark said.
"You're also the best girlfriend I've ever had without you I couldn't spend any girl time with anyone else." Webs said.
She smiled at them as she clasped her paws together in delight she was so happy to have just good friends who actually cared about her unlike her assistants who turned out to be her old bullies and bounty hunters she hired a long time ago. Wolf walked over to her with a smiling face as he placed his paw on her shoulder.
"You see Diane we still trust you and we understand what you're going through I remember the wise fox once told me don't do it for them do it for yourself." Wolf said softly.
Diane smiled warmly she knew what Wolf was talking about she said the same thing after the incident with the guinea pigs from the lab she never thought at her words would come back around to her then she wrapped her arms around him as she pulled him into a hug as Wolf smiled he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug too. Wolf and Diane hugged each other for a very long time as their friends watched on with warm smiling faces and Shark wiped the tears of joy away from his eyes at the scene before him. Wolf and Diane then pulled away from the hug as they stared and smiled at each other then they let go and they looked at their friends.
"Thank you, everyone, your just good friends to have!" Diane exclaimed cheerfully.
Shark blushed as he put his fins behind his back and said. "Aw, you're welcome, Diane."
"But what are we going to do now about Trickster and his mongoose goons?" Snake asked.
"I'm glad you asked Snake and it's only one thing we can do now!" Wolf told him.
"What's that?" Diane asked.
He turned to her with a warm smile and asked. "Diane? How would you like to live us in our home which used to be a hideout but now it's our home?"
Diane smiled and answered. "I would be a pleasure!"
Everyone cheered they were going to have their fox friend living with them until the heat dies down that is but still it was going to be a great time for all.
"I have to pack up my stuff first before I could leave." Diane told them.
"That's okay, I'll help you." Wolf said.
"Thank you, Wolf." Diane said, nodding to him.
"And we'll be the look out to see if Trickster and his mongoose goons have arrived yet." Snake told them.
"If we see them we'll let you know!" Piranha added.
"Thank you, see that you do." Diane said.
After that, the canines began to pack up Diane's stuff as the four friends walked into the living room to peer out of the window for any sign of the bounty hunters coming to the house.
A Few Hours Later…
The canines were done packing up the vixen's stuff then they walked out of the living room to see if their friends had spotted anything yet but they told them that they hadn't seen anyone so far they sighed in relief knowing that they were safe for now that is. So, the six of them walked out of the house, they walked up to the car, Diane placed the duffel bag in-between the back seat where their friends sit, Diane walked back to the house, she checked to see if she had missed anything, she then unplugged the microwave so nobody can enter her secret room, she then walked back to the car, she told them that she was all done, they all entered the car, they buckled their seatbelts, Wolf started the car, and they drove down the road to their home.
They eventually reached their home which was hidden in the large sewer pipe they rode through the pipe, they stopped in front of the elevator, they got out of the car, Diane grabbed her bag, they all rode down the elevator, the door opened, and they all stepped into their hideout which was their home. Diane walked and looked around the hideout in amazement as she held her bag in front of her like Belle did from Beauty and The Beast as she sung her song about how she wanted a new life outside of her little town. She saw that the hideout had changed since she was last there after Wolf had given her the map to her hideout to show that they were telling the truth that they didn't steal the meteorite and got framed for it.
The hideout was a very large white room with large windows, a large kitchen counter with cupboards and cabinets, a dishwasher next to the fridge covered in old and new pictures of Wolf and his friends, oven, a large table in the middle of the room, a large door near the elevator that leads into the bedrooms of the animals, a large rack filled with Shark's disguises near the wall, a large counter with a large TV on top of it along with a DVD player and a video game console with some video games and DVDs stacked next to them (which they owned instead of steal with help from Diane), and a large purple sofa in the middle of the room in front of the TV as well.
"Wow! This hideout is amazing the last time I was here." Diane said.
"Yes! And this time we've actually paid for this stuff instead of stealing it with a little help from you of course." Wolf said, winking at her.
Diane smiled at him then she walked around the hideout to see what else there was she walked into the kitchen, she opened the fridge to see it was full of food and drinks some of them were her favorites, she then closed the fridge, she opened the freezer to see some frozen food even a few boxes of push pops which Snake loves to eat, she then closed the freezer, she then walked around the kitchen opening cabinets and cupboards to see what else there was to eat some of them were her favorites others were not, she then closed them, she then walked over to the rack to feel some of Shark's disguises and she loved how they felt, she then walked over to the living room to get a better look at it, and she finally looked out the window.
She smiled as she looked up at the starry night sky above her with the moon shining down brightly as a shooting star whizzed past by the sky it looked amazing it looked so much better than her old house where she looked out the window to see the night sky but seeing it below the hideout was much better because she could see more of it.
After she was done gazing she then walked over to Wolf and asked. "Where can I put my stuff?"
"Follow me." Wolf told her as he motioned to follow her.
They walked over to the door next to the elevator, he opened it, they went inside as they walked down the hallway passing by the five bedrooms where their friends slept in until they reached the final door at the end of the hallway which was far away from the others it was their guest bedroom that they never used before because they never had any guests because of their criminal records until now that is they can finally use that bedroom for their new guest Diane Foxington. Diane walked up, she opened the door, they entered the room, Wolf turned on the light, they blinked a few times, and she stared in amazement at the room she was in.
The guest bedroom was very large with yellow walls, a blue carpeted floor, a large purple bed with a white pillow and a yellow blanket on top and near the wall, a large brown nightstand next to the bed, a large white bathroom door near the right end of the room, a large brown dresser next to the bathroom door, another large brown dresser near the front door, and a small blue plastic garbage can in front of a nightstand. She then walked up to her bed, she placed down her duffel bag on it, and she began to unpack her stuff with help from Wolf.
After a while, they were done packing. Diane's clothing was inside of the two dressers, her alarm clock, her make up kit, and her picture of her friends were on the nightstand, her bathroom products were in the bathroom, and all her other stuff were on top of the two dressers. She then looked around the room, she nodded, she turned to Wolf, and she gave him a thumbs up approving her new room. Wolf grinned as he gave her a thumbs up back. Then they heard a knock on the door and they turned around wondering who was knocking at their door so Diane walked up to the door and she leaned her ear close to it.
"Who is it?" Diane called out.
"It's me, Snake! We have a surprise for you in the kitchen!" Snake called out.
Wolf and Diane looked at each other wondering what the surprise was then they turned back to the door and Diane opened to see Snake smiling at her.
"Come on, me and my friends have a big surprise for you in the kitchen!" Snake told her as he waved his tail to gesture to her to follow him.
Wolf and Diane smiled then they nodded to him so the snake slithered down the hallway with the canines following him until he stopped in front of the door, he turned to the canines, and he pointed to the door to help him open it since he doesn't have any arms or legs.
"Wait! How did you get in here?" Wolf asked.
"Shark, opened the door for me since I don't have any arms or leg." Snake answered.
Wolf nodded and said. "OK, that's make sense."
"Now, come on, open the door!" Snake urged as he pointed to the door.
"OK, OK, we're opening the door." Diane said as she gestured to him to calm down.
She opened the door as Snake slithered out of the hallway, Wolf and Diane walked through the door, they closed it behind them, and as soon as they turned around.
"SURPRISE!" Everyone shouted in a loud thunderous tone.
Wolf and Diane stood there in surprise to see the kitchen before them it looked different because there was a large white banner with "Happy Birthday Diane" written in large black letters hanging across the kitchen wall and on the kitchen table was a large chocolate cake with yellow frosting, rainbow-colored paw shaped sprinkles, and Diane's age number in shape of the candle while lit on top of it, there were many cartons of different flavored ice cream, and several push pops. Diane smiled as she clasped her paws together in delight as Wolf looked on with his arms crossed and a warm smile on his face he was happy to see that his friends had gone through all this trouble to celebrate Diane's birthday just like did with Snake's.
"Wow! This looks awesome!" Diane exclaimed cheerfully.
"Happy birthday, Diane!" They all shouted in unison as they held up their fins, legs, and tail in the air.
"Thank you, everyone I don't know what to say other than thank you!" Diane shouted cheerfully.
"Well, it was mostly my idea." Snake said, pointing to himself.
Wolf and Diane looked at him in surprise and they asked. "You?"
Snake nodded as he slithered up to the canines with a sympathetic look on his face.
"I know what you're going through Diane especially when you had a bad birthday tonight and I know how you feel I too have bad birthdays because nobody wanted to come to my parties because I was a snake and everyone believed that snakes were evil and monsters from Hell. But then all that changed when I met Wolf he was the only one who was nice to me and he actually helped me out celebrate my birthday and he was the only one who came to my parties when nobody else would. After I saw you having a worst birthday tonight I've decided to come up with a plan to let you have a best birthday ever!" Snake explained to her.
"What's that?" Diane asked.
"Well, while you and Wolf were in her new bedroom unpacking your stuff I told the guys to help me set up your party right here in this room because I didn't want you to have a lousy birthday like I did back then. So, Shark and Piranha went out to get a cake and some ice cream being careful not to let any cops or bounty hunters seeing them as Webs and I made this banner for you saying 'Happy Birthday Diane' I know it's not much but it's better than nothing at all. I hope you like it." Snake explained some more as he shrugged his tail.
"Are you kidding me? Snake! I love it!" Diane shouted.
Everyone clapped and cheered.
"Thank you, Snake!" Diane exclaimed.
"You're welcome!" Snake said as he took off his hat and bowed to her.
Diane then knelt down on both of her knees as she wrapped her arms around him for a hug and Snake wrapped himself around her to hug her as well being careful not to strangle her. They hugged for some time before they pulled away from the hug and smiled to each other. She then leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek. Snake quickly moved away from her as his cheeks turned a deep cheery red as he tried to wipe the kiss away with his tail.
"Oh, come on! Diane! Don't do that!" Snake shouted.
Diane giggled as she stood up.
"Oh, come on, Snake! It's not that bad!" Wolf assured them as he waved his paw at him.
"Easy for you to say I don't mind having affection but not THAT much!" Snake shouted.
Everyone laughed at this Snake then eventually laughed as well realizing how silly he was being so they all laughed and laughed until they stopped laughing took a deep breath and they smiled to each other. Wolf, Diane, and Snake all sat down at the table with their friends. Wolf and Diane sat next to each other, Snake, Piranha and Shark sat together, and Webs was sitting on the table since she was so small. Wolf then pushed the cake near Diane. Piranha then jumped up on the table as he sang the birthday song to her, she thanked him, she then blew out the candles, and everyone clapped and cheered.
"Thank you, amiga, for letting me sing the birthday song." Piranha said.
"You're welcome, Piranha, you're a great singer." Diane said, winking at him.
Piranha blushed as he grinned, giggled, and clasped his fins together at the compliment he then turned to Snake with a smug smile on his face and said. "See? She's like my singing!"
Snake just stuck his tongue out at him.
"Boys! Please! No fighting on my birthday!" Diane shouted as she wagged her finger at them.
"Sorry." The fish and the snake said as they bowed their heads in shame.
"Now! Let's party!" She shouted as she waved her arms in the air.
Everyone cheered as they clapped in joy then they all began to chow down on the birthday meal in front of them.
Later, they had finished their meal and cleaned up the whole room after that they all walked to the couch, they sat down together with Wolf next to Diane, Snake, Piranha, and Shark next to each other, and Webs sitting on top of the armrest of the couch in front of the TV, Wolf grabbed the TV remote, he handed it to Diane, she turned on the TV, she changed the channel to the funny movie named Shrek, she put the TV remote on the coffee table, and they all sat back to relax and enjoy the movie together. But an hour later, their movie was interrupted by a news broadcast that appeared on the screen. A blue title screen with "News Announcement" written in large red letters appeared on the screen.
"We interrupt this program for the special announcement." A male voice announced.
"Aw, man! I hate it when the news interrupts our movie!" Snake shouted.
"Shh, this might be important!" Wolf shouted at him as he put his finger to his lip to shush him.
Snake just huffed and he turned his head away from him.
Back on the TV, The scene then changed to Tiffany Fluffit who was a female African American human with brown eyes, long black hair with some tied in a bun on top, white teeth smiling all the time, purple eye-shadow, red lipstick, small purple earrings, wearing a long purple uniform, a blue bracelet on her wrist, a microphone in her hand, and purple heels. She was standing in front of the police station with an angry face as she stared at the camera.
"Hello, I'm Tiffany Fluffit and tonight we have some shocking news it turned out that Diane Foxington was really The Crimson Paw this whole time and not Marmalade. We've all been lied and deceived by our beloved governor who was really a thief we've never known about and she had betrayed us after we had trusted her all these years!" Tiffany reported. She then walked over to the police station, down the hallway, and she stood in front of the office of the chief. "Right here, we have Chief Misty Luggins' office and we're going to speak to her right now about what's she's going to do about this case." Tiffany said as she pointed to the office with her thumb.
She then opened the door and entered the office to see Misty was resting her head on the desk while crying into her arms the reporter tapped the chief on her shoulder as the chief looked up from her arms and looked at the reporter in surprise wondering what the hell she was doing here right now.
"What the hell do you want?" Misty shouted between sobs.
"Chief, we're sorry to bother you at this most awful time but me and the viewers wanted to know how you're going to deal with the case of Diane Foxington aka The Crimson Paw." She asked her.
She held the microphone near the chief who wiped away her tears, she took it from her, and she turned to the camera with a sad face to speak.
"Well, I'm not going to arrest Dinae Foxington not because she's been my best friend over the years but because I'm too hurt to do it myself after the way she had betrayed me with her secrets and lies of being the so-called honest governor instead I'm going to leave that job to Trickster the undercover rabbit bounty hunter." Misty explained.
Tiffany gasped in delight as she placed her paws on her cheeks as she snatched the microphone away from the chief.
"OMG! Do you mean Trickster the undercover bounty hunter we've seen on TV so many times?" Tiffany asked.
Misty then wiped away her tears again as she smiled at her and said. "Yep! That's the one!"
Tiffany squealed as she jumped up and down like a little schoolgirl then she stopped, took a deep breath, calmed down, and she turned to the chief.
"Do you know where he is now?" Tiffany asked.
"Yes, he's on his way to arrest Diane at her house right now." Misty answered.
"Thank you for your time Chief and we're sorry to have bother you." Tiffany said.
"That's alright, you're just doing your job like I would do right now except I'm too hurt to do it." Misty told her as she waved her off.
Tiffany then turned to the camera with a smiling face and said. "Let's go to Diane's house to see Trickster arresting her!"
The scene then changed to Tiffany standing in front of Diane's house while in the background Trickster was pacing back and forth with an angry face because he couldn't find the vixen inside of her house anywhere as Manny and Gus were leaning against the house with their arms crossed while sleeping on the job. The rabbit's motorcycle was in the driveway of the house. They had reached the house long after Wolf and his friends had left they searched the whole house for her but they couldn't find her they even tried the secret room after they had plugged in the microwave but she wasn't there either! It looked like Diane had gotten away once again and Trickster was very angry about this!
Trickster's ears perked up when he heard Tiffany walking up to him she stopped, she sat down on both of her knees, and she stared at him with a smiling face. Trickster smiled back at her as he licked his paw and slicked back his ears like a human would with their hair and grinned at the camera.
"Hello, you must be Trickster the undercover bounty hunter." Tiffany greeted.
"Yep! That's me and you must be Tiffany Fluffit the best news reporter in the universe!" Trickster gushed.
Tiffany blushed as she turned her head away and giggled into her hand in modesty.
"Oh, you!" She said, giggling some more.
She then cleared her throat.
"Anyways, I've heard that you were about to capture The Crimson Paw aka Diane Foxington how's that going for you?" She asked.
Trickster sighed as he looked down and shook his head.
"Not good I'm afraid it looks like The Crimson Paw had gotten away again me and my friends searched the whole house but there wasn't any sign of her anywhere not even inside of her secret room!" Trickster shouted as he raised his arms up in the air angrily.
Tiffany gasped as she covered her mouth in shock.
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that!" She said.
Trickster then smiled as he waved her off and said. "Oh, don't worry one way or another I'll find her and get her, get her, get her!"
Tiffany giggled and asked. "Just like in that song?"
"Exactly!" He replied.
"Is there any other reason why you're determined to capture her?" Tiffany asked.
Trickster nodded as he put on a fake sad face with his eyes huge like puppy dog eyes and he pouted his lips which made Tiffany stared at him with a sad face and her hands clasped together feeling sorry for the rabbit.
"Aw, if you don't want to tell us that's fine." Tiffany said in a babyish tone.
"No, I want to tell you to get it off my chest." Trickster said in a fake sad tone.
"Well, okay, cutie, tell us." Tiffany said.
"Well, you see a long time ago me and my friends were running along the tracks at the track field at high school when suddenly Diane came along and she bullied us just for the fun of it but mostly me because I was a rabbit and she believed that rabbits were nothing more but meek and weak creatures but that wasn't the worst part of it! The worst part is after she had beaten up she pantsed me in front of the whole school! I was so embarrassed that I ran back to the school crying! My friends tried to help me with the bully but she was too strong for any of them! But it got worse when I got older." Trickster lied.
"What happened?" Tiffany asked in a concerned tone.
"Well, when I got older I wanted to be a bounty hunter along with my friends to stop bullies like Diane from trying to overpower others like me for being weak and helpless to do anything so after we became bounty hunters we began to hunt down Diane for what she did to us a long time ago but then I heard that Marmalade who was also a good friend of mine back in high school along with my friends was arrested for his crimes and got framed for being The Crimson Paw when it was really Diane who was The Crimson Paw! So, Marmalade got wrongly accused of being the criminal and got arrested for it!" Trickster explained.
"Oh my God! That's so sad!" Tiffany exclaimed as she placed her hands on her face.
"But wait! There's more!" He shouted as he held out his finger.
"What?" She asked.
"You see Diane framed my friend Marmalade by planting the diamond into his pocket after she got captured by him so that way she could get off scott-free while Marmalade takes the blame for Diane's crimes! She's a tricky fox who would do anything to get away with her crimes, even framing someone like my good friend Marmalade and she won! She framed my friend so she could get away with her crimes once more! And it worked!" Trickster lied.
Back in the room, everyone stared and gasped in shock at what the rabbit had told the news but the most shocked of them all was Diane! She was staring at the screen with widened eyes and her jaw dropped nearly to her chest!
She then turned to the wolf with an angry face and said. "That's not true! Oh my God, I can't believe it! He's lying on the news!"
Wolf nodded as he looked at the fox.
"I know! He was the one who was bullying you in school, you pantsed him because he was insulting your father, and Marmalade was the one who had stolen the diamond off of you when we got caught in his death trap!" Wolf shouted as he pointed to the TV.
"Wait a second! You guys got caught in the death trap?" Snake asked as he looked at them confused.
Wolf nodded as he turned to him with an angry face and said. "Yes, Snake, as you did your old switcheroo plan me and Diane almost got turned into mincemeat if our friends hadn't had come along and saved us!"
Snake bowed his head in shame and said. "I'm sorry, Wolf, I didn't know I swear I didn't know!"
Wolf smiled at him and said. "Oh, that's okay buddy! There was no way you could've known that Diane and I would've been dead by now besides that was a long time ago but next time try to do the old switcheroo when we're NOT in the death trap."
"You got it buddy!" Snake said, as he gave him a thumbs up with his tail as best as he could.
Then they turned back to the TV to see what else the news would say about the current situation.
Back on the TV, Trickster was blowing his nose with a tissue that Tiffany provided him with as she patted him on the back to comfort him as she stared at him with a sad face.
"Do you feel better?" Tiffany asked.
Trickster nodded and said. "Yep! I'm much better now!"
Trickster then smiled with a determined look on his face and he crossed his arm across his chest.
"But I'm not going to give up now I'm going to keep looking for that vixen even if it kills me!" Trickster shouted.
Tiffany smiled as she clapped her hands at the rabbit's speech while cheering and said. "That's good to hear!"
Trickster nodded.
"That's right, Tiffany! Me and my friends are not going to give up hunting down this fox!" Trickster shouted.
"Right guys?" Trickster asked as he turned to them.
Manny and Gus were still leaning against the house sleeping on the job as Trickster glared at them with an angry face he then stomped over to them, he grabbed them by the heads, and he bonked them together. The mongooses woke up as they waved their arms around before looking at their boss he was standing there with an angry face as he crossed his arms and thumped his foot on the ground. Manny and Gus blushed as they waved to their boss with sheepish grins on their faces.
"You two are supposed to doing your jobs not sleeping on them!" He shouted as he pointed to them.
"Sorry sir!" Manny and Gus said as they saluted to him.
"Good! Now come on, we're on the news!" He told them as he pointed behind him with his thumb.
"The news!" They shouted in delight and unison.
The mongooses ran passed their boss as they pushed him down to the ground then they stood in front of the human with huge grins and their paws clasped together.
"Hello, I'm Manny." Manny greeted.
"And I'm Gus." Gus greeted.
"And we're Trickster's assistants for his job as bounty hunters to hunt down criminals and put them in their place!" They both announced as they wrapped their arms around each other.
Tiffany looked at them in surprise as she backed away from them a bit from their behavior she dealt with many onlookers and bystanders doing silly stunts but she had never encounter anyone being up close to the camera to do some crazy tricks she felt a bit uncomfortable with them around because she thought they might be crazy fans wanting to be in the news like some of the people behind her would. Tiffany then took a deep breath to calm herself down. After she felt better she smiled at them and he held out her microphone in front of them for them to speak.
"Yes, that's quite interesting to hear from you boys." Tiffany said, chuckling a bit.
Manny then grabbed the microphone as he pulled the woman close to her with a smiling face.
"Not only that but we're also twin brothers!" Manny exclaimed.
Gus then grabbed the microphone away from his brother and said. "Yes, of course, Manny is older than me but I'm still cute."
Manny grabbed the microphone from him and shouted. "No! I'm cute!"
Gus pulled it back and said. "No! I'm cute!"
They both argued back and forth about who's cuter as they tugged on the microphone with Tiffany along with it like a tug of war game as Tiffany was wincing in pain as they were tugging at her arm she dealt with weird people before but this was ridiculous! Luckily for her, Trickster stomped over to the two mongooses he grabbed them by the heads, he tugged them away from the woman, she fell backwards on the grass, he grabbed their heads, and he bonked them together again knocking them out. Manny and Gus fell down and they laid on the grass with their eyes closed as they moaned in pain.
Trickster cleared his throat as he straightened himself up and Tiffany sat back on her knees as she dusted herself off from the ground after they looked professional they stared at the camera with smiling face.
"I'm awful sorry about that my buddies can get carry away sometimes when the camera's on them." Trickster apologized with his paws clasped together.
"Oh, that's okay Trickster believe me I've dealt with many crazy people too when I'm on the news." Tiffany assured him as she waved at him.
"Anyways, I hate to leave on such short notice but I have a job to do by hunting down Diane Foxington." Trickster told her with his arm behind his back and his finger in the air.
"I understand I have to get going too the news is almost over so it was nice talking to you, Trickster, good luck catching the fox." Tiffany said.
"Thank you, I will! Goodbye!" Trickster said, waving to the camera.
"Bye!" Tiffany said, waving back to him.
She then stood up and stared at the camera.
"And there you have it ladies and gentlemen that's the news we have tonight we just hope that Trickster captures Diane Foxington who is a traitor to the whole city this is Tiffany Fluffit for tonight news thank you and good night!" Tiffany said, waving to the camera.
The scene then changes back to the title screen as the male voice came back again.
"This has been the news announcement now we are returning to the movie in progress." A male voice said.
The scene then cuts back to the movie where it had left off from before the interruption where Shrek was backing Donkey up on the bridge to the castle to rescue Princess Fiona while he was pleading for Shrek not to let him cross the bridge but they made it through anyways with Shrek's help.
Back in the room, nobody was even paying attention to the movie anymore because they were all too shocked by what they had witnessed on the news about how Diane was a bully to Trickster back in high school and how she had framed Marmalade by planting the diamond on him to make him look like The Crimson Paw but when in reality Trickster was the one who bullied Diane back in high school and Marmalade had stolen the diamond off of her after she and Wolf got caught in his death trap! But everyone believes him because he was a rabbit and he was also a bounty hunter because they would never think that a rabbit bounty hunter would lie since they are cute innocent and heroic animals. But they were wrong about him!
Diane grabbed the remote, she turned off the TV, she slammed the remote on the table, she stood up from the couch, she walked around the couch, she stomped toward the door, she opened it, she stormed down the hallway, opened her bedroom door, she went inside, and she slammed the door behind her. Her friends sat there as they watched her leave they felt sad and sorry for their former governor then Wolf stood up from the couch, he walked around the couch, he walked over to the door, he opened it, he walked down the hallway, he stopped in front of Diane's bedroom, and he knocked on the door.
"Who's there?" She called out.
"It's me, Wolf, can I come in?" He called back.
"Yes, you may." She responded.
Wolf opened the door slowly and he peeked inside to see Diane sitting on her bed with a sad face as she leaned forward and she rested her head on both of her paws. She looked like a child who was bored out of their mind. Wolf sighed he hated to see his best friend and girlfriend like this then he had an idea that might cheer her up so he closed the door behind him, he then walked over to her bed, he sat down next to her, he straightened up his tie, he placed his arm around him, and he grinned showing his teeth. He decided to use his Clooney impression to cheer up the vixen.
"My, my, Diane you look lovely tonight." Wolf said.
She turned and glared at him angrily.
"Don't Clooney me Wolf I'm not in the mood!" She shouted as she held out her paw at him.
He reeled back at bit as he winced at her tone he remembered that she told him about the same thing after the incident with the guinea pigs breaking out from the lab with the help from him and his friends while they were in the reform program with Marmalade. Diane's face then softened as she realized that she had took out her anger at him she then sighed sadly as she turned her head away, face-palmed, and shook her head in sadness.
"Oh, Wolfie, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to take it out on you I'm just worried about the situation that I'm in right now." She said softly.
"It's okay Diane I understand what you're going through I know how you feel right now." Wolf assured her softly as he patted her on the back.
Diane lifted her face up from her paw and turned to him.
"You do?" She asked.
Wolf nodded his head and said. "I do."
"Don't worry Diane we'll get through this together I promise you." Wolf said softly.
"I know we will thank you Wolf." Diane said, smiling.
Wolf smiled back and said. "You're welcome."
Wolf and Diane hugged each other as they snuggled their heads together like animals would when they are in love then they pulled away from the hug as they smiled at each other.
"So, what do you feel like doing now?" Wolf asked.
"I feel like watching another movie." Diane answered.
"Alright! I'll go make the popcorn!" He told her.
"And I'll go get the sodas!" She told him.
They stood up from the bed, they held paws, and they walked out of the bedroom to spend some time together along with their friends for movie night Diane was going to enjoy her time together with her friends she felt safe when she's with them she was definitely going to get use to this.
A/N: End of Chapter 2. Diane is now living with her friends in their hideout which is their home and her new home as well until the heat dies down that is. It's going to take some time for her to adjust to her new life but it will be worth it when she's with her friends especially with Wolf she's very lucky to have friends like them because she helped them out so much that they decided to help her out as well with the same problem they had before. One good turn deserves another. In the next chapter, Diane has a nightmare about her secret being exposed to everyone but it was much worse than it was at the gala with everyone chasing after her and her friends betraying her too! Will she wake up from that nightmare? Stay tuned to find out!
Fun Fact #1: Manny and Gus are the play on of words mongoose because Manny and Gus almost sound like mongoose if you said it fast enough I forgot to mention that in the first chapter.
Fun Fact #2: The scenes where Diane and her friends were in the secret room and celebrating Diane's birthday are references to The Bad Guys movie.
Fun Fact #3: The news scene in this chapter is the reference to the scene from King of the Hill episode called "Ser-PUNT" where animal control lies on the news about how Hank had put the snake in the toilet.
Fun Fact #4: The scene in this chapter where Misty calls Diane is the reference to the scene in Batman TAS: Over the Edge where Gordon calls Batman about how he found out the truth about him on Barbara's computer and how's he's coming over to arrest him.
Fun Fact #5: The Shrek movie where Shrek is making Donkey crossing the bridge to save Princess Fiona by scaring him is the Easter Egg I've added for fun. I don't own Shrek but I do own this story and reference to it. I thought it would be funny to add an Easter Egg to my story like other media do.
