Sonic opened his eyes with a groggy groan as he saw that he was on a couch with with a blanket over him him. The TV was on with the volume turned down as it was on the local news. "...The footage and sightings of what appeared to be a talking blue hedgehog like creature has gone viral and had given the authorities chase around our city of San Francisco. Escalating when the controversial military organisation Guardian Unit of the Nation or GUN had joined in the manhunt causing much damage to the streets and putting civilian lives at risk..."
Sonic caught his vision as to the side of the couch were the Wachowskis who noticed him and Ozzy then went up to him and licked his face. "Gross! Dog drool... Could this be anymore of a bad way to wake up..." Sonic shouted as he sat up straight. He now had Tom, Maddie and Jojo who was a young girl looking at him and he put up his hand saying "Hello... I'm Sonic; Sonic the Hedgehog and I am not really from around here and that... I didn't start it... I just wanted to leave... They got me up in a helicopter but I fell down..."
"...And crashed into our back... Well; I'm Maddie and this is my husband Tom and our daughter Jojo... We found you and I checked on you... Well; your physiology is unlike anything i Have ever seen in all of my years as a vet and your heart beat goes at a speed that I am sure is physically impossible for most creatures but I guess that can be explained by..." Maddie then said as she then motioned for the TV report and Sonic laughed and nodded.
"...A representative from GUN had stated that they are looking for any leads to the recapture of the creature and until then are commandeering command over the San Francisco Police Department; a move that already has dissenters who are calling it a gross and blatant violation of the Posse Commitatus Act..." said the reporter as Tom got the remove to turn off the TV.
"Are you a friendly alien like ET or Stitch?" Jojo asked with an excited smile as Sonic laughed.
"Sorry don't know who they are but I think that I am not from this world at least... Where I am from there is only 1 large hairless ape with no tails and no offence intended... We call our planet Mobius and things are alright except for the bad guys including the ape I told you about... Dr Robotnik who is always trying to use his robots and inventions to take over but I am always there to stop him... Going on 8 years now ever since I was 6; we have been going at it..." Sonic then answered as Jojo listened intently.
"So you are an alien superhero?" Jojo asked as Maddie had Jojo take a step back as Sonic then shot her a grin.
"Well...Welcome to Earth and that's what we call our planet Sonic and we call our species humans and... You think that you can please start from the beginning and explain just how you came here?" Tom decided to ask as Sonic took a deep breath.
"Well Robotnik had his latest plan and had gathered all 7 Chaos Emeralds... Ancient artefacts each filled with great power and even more when put together... My best friend Tails piloting my plane the Tornado as he hacked into his ship and caused it to fail; I went to grab the Emeralds and... Next thing I knew I was surrounded by all those humans outside and... Wait could Robotnik be here as well?" Sonic then asked and was now stunned at the idea. "Well I just have to stay here and wait until he makes a move... Especially since I don't know how to get back home... Unless you have a spaceship I could borrow..." Sonic then explained as they looked.
"What are we gonna do... If GUN finds us harbouring him... Dad always refused to say anything about his time there and whatever happened haunted him and I don't like the idea of us being called traitors and with the record I have..." Tom asked as he got looks from Maddie and Jojo.
"Dad; he needs our help!" Jojo then said at once and Tom looked conflicted as Maddie looked serious with Sonic giving him an eye.
"I am just saying that our options are kind of limited... Unless we want to try and break into NASA to steal a spaceship which should give us as much treason charges as the other option or quite possibly more..." Tom then told his daughter as Maddie looked at him.
"Are you seriously suggesting we hand him over to be probed or much worse Thomas Wachowski? Didn't you always want to help people in need and could you live with yourself or look at your reflection in the mirror if you turned him away..." Maddie asked as Tom looked at them and then Sonic and just relented with a sigh as he got a call from his phone.
He then went aside to answer it as Maddie then looked to Sonic and told him "don't mind Tom; he will always do the right thing in the end and GUN is kind of a sore subject for him and his family... about 50 years ago; his father worked for GUN and something happened that haunted him... Caused him to quit and settle in the local police department of our small hometown and ended up becoming Sheriff with Tom following that footsteps before we moved here and that's a whole other story..." Maddie told Sonic softly and he just frowned in response.
"Well that was Crazy Carl again... Saying that he had his sources say that they found a rabbit girl to be taken in along with a glowing red diamond found where one of the energy surges last night happened... Gave me the address to where they are keeping them and... I would normally toss it aside despite Carl actually being onto something at times but well... Alien hedgehog teenager..." Tom said and Sonic jumped at once.
"Wait... A Mobian girl and red diamond... A CHAOS EMERALD! YOU HAVE TO TAKE ME THERE! I need it to possibly get home and if they captured some poor girl from my home then I have to save her... Please..." Sonic pleaded as Tom was about to protest but saw the look on everyone's faces and sighed. "Jojo; please get ready for school and you Sonic... I will take you as close to the location as possible without getting into trouble..." Tom then told him as Sonic was excited.
"Thank you! You will not regret it!" Sonic then told him as Tom sighed.
"I think that I will!" Tom then retorted as Maddie and Jojo laughed.
Robotnik groaned as he had awakened in a hospital bed and his last memory became clearer and clearer to him and he grew furious; Sonic had once again foiled his glorious plan and they had been caught in the after effects of his nemesis foolishly grabbing at the Chaos Emeralds. Oh; that blasted hedgehog had better be alive so that he could kill him himself...
His vision came to him and he noticed himself in a hospital bed surrounded by humans in suits and he was taken aback to see humans again after all of this time. "My good people... Tell me... Am I on planet Earth?" Robotnik then asked and they raised their eyebrows at the question and nodded which had him intrigued. "Fascinating... The blast has somehow taken me back home... What have I missed... Who is the President... What sports stars are the new range... Did they revive Family Matters?" Robotnik then decided to ask as one elderly man in a suit came up to him.
"I am the Secretary of Defence of the United States and we want to ask you a couple of questions; starting with... Your name?" the Secretary then asked as Robotnik then decided to play along so that he could gather information and start planning on a new course of actions.
"Wow... I feel so honoured... I would be more than happy to cooperate... Doctor Julian Ivo Robotnik at your service..." Robotnik then answered and this had taken the Secretary by surprise.
He then asked sharply "Sorry but... Did you say Robotnik?"
Sonic was in a hoodie to disguise himself as he was in the passenger's seat of Tom's truck as they had driven past the Golden Gate Bridge and after some more travelling they ended up on a long road; "So Tom... What do you do?" Sonic then decided to ask as Tom kept his eyes on the road.
"Well... I was Sheriff in our old hometown and I came here to be a big time police officer but... Well... Long story but I quit to be a private detective and be in a better position to help people who come to me with their problems..." Tom then answered as Sonic then laughed as Tom looked at him.
"I know this guy... Well crocodile called Vector and if he's here then you two could work together as he's a private detective as well!" Sonic then replied as Tom scoffed.
"Sorry but my office is bad enough without swamp water getting on the carpet..." Tom then replied as they came up to a fork which led to a military base. "This is as close as I can get without getting into trouble or be suspicious and good luck but do you have a plan..." Tom then decided to ask as Sonic grinned.
"Do what I usually do; get in, kick butt, save whoever is in need and get out! Usually works out... Sometimes I need to use a better plan but this one works well mostly..." Sonic then said as Tom stared at him.
"If you survived this long with plans like that then Lady Luck must be your friend then..." Tom replied as Sonic smirked back at him as he ditched his hoodie on the car seat.
"We have been happily married for years..." Sonic then joked in response as he then began running.
