Sonic made his way running in a blur to the gate of the base and jumped up to get a look at all the guards around the place but there was an air vent that he could get to. "Okay... Get in and have a look around... Gotta be careful when escaping since I have that girl to look after once I find her..." Sonic muttered as he then jumped down and ran past the guards who noticed the blur and then sent off an intruder alarm.
Sonic was heard the sirens but got inside the air vents taking a not so soft landing only to be met with laser ealls there blocking him from going even further to his chagrin. However he the then heard the alarms sounds dying off and short circuiting; the lasers going away and he heard the guards say that something was wrong with their intercomcs and the base's power.
His eyes widened as he started grinning when he had a thought about what was happening; he went further and managed to get in and saw through the vent covers the staff running to fix the issue with the power for the place was all dark. He then Spin Dashed through it and managed to find a lab and was met with scientists who jumped upon seeing him.
Sonic then ran to push them into chairs and found some spare labcoats to tie together and tied them up. "S... Sonic the Hedgehog!" squealed a small voice excitedly and Sonic then noticed in a research pod was a 6 year old Mobian rabbit girl with a light red dress and her eyelashes made her look to be wearing glasses. "It's awful Mr Sonic... I was playing out the front of my house with my mum doing the dishes but then there were these flashes from the sky... I was then somewhere else scared out of my mind as I was surrounded by these big people... They took me here and said that they wanted to study me and didn't listen as I said how scared I was..." the girl then cried and Sonic looked stunned, mortified and then glared at the scientists.
"This is for science; find what made you freaks..." protested one of the scientists and Sonic then Spin Dashed at their chairs and knocked them out. "Don't worry... Take a step back..." Sonic then told her assuredly and she did as instructed as a Spin Dash broke the glass open and Sonic carried her out into his arms and foudn the containment unit with the glowing red Chaos Emerald.
A punch at the machines at super speed allowed him to break it open and take it; "Good work hedgehog... Now free me Dark Visor the Grand Emperor of the Insectra Empire and you shall have a place by my side as I conquer and enslave this putrid planet..." said a voice and Sonic then noticed a humanoid figure in another pod that was wearing black attire with a black cape, a mask with goggles and a hat like helmet over it. Sonic just gave him a look and decided to just leave.
"I'm a big fan Mr Sonic; you going out and helping people and take care of that big bully Robotnik! When I was old enough; I was hoping to see if I could meet you and have an adventure!" the girl told Sonic as he rushed past trying to be careful while holding the girl.
"That's cool but no 'Mr Sonic' nonsense; just 'Sonic' and always nice to meet a fan. Can I ask for your name please?" Sonic then asked as he then saw the guards and moved around them with them giving chase.
"Got it Mr... I mean Sonic and you can call me Cream..." the girl answered as Sonic then pushed past a door and felt his shoulders lifting him up in the air and they looked up and Cream was surprised while Sonic was grinning to see Tails lifting them up in the air; using his twin tails as helicopter blades.
"Tails... I suspected that you were behind that thing with the power... Please say hello to Cream here, she's a fan..." Sonic then told him as Cream waved to him as Tails managed to get them up in the air but they noticed several versions of Tails up in the air as well confusing the guards as they tried firing at them all. "Holograms..." Sonic laughed.
"The Miles Electric allowed me to pick up the energy signature of a Chaos Emerald but I should have known that you would end up there as well and it looks like it was a rescue mission as well..." Tails then explained and Sonic then pointed down to Tom's truck as Tails managed to speed up his flight and got them all down.
"Everyone this is Tom and his family has volunteered for me to crash at their place for the time and I am sure that they wouldn't mind the company. Tom this is Cream and Tails who I was telling you about!" Sonic then told Tom as the two waved at Tom with him staring.
"Well; I don't know what I was expecting when you told me that your friend was called Tails. Better call Maddie to find the spare sleeping bags..." Tom sighed shaking his head as he opened up the door to let them in.
A younger Doctor Julian Robotnik; with a full head of hair, sunglasses, a smaller moustache and black attire including a longcoat was overlooking an archway device that he had put together inside his personal lab at Eggman Industries. "Test #16 of sending in drones through the portal device that I put together with the plans found among grandpa's stuff is a success. Windows to planets beyond not only Earth but the Solar System and maybe even the galaxy. If my calculations are correct and they always are; the atmosphere of this planet should be breathable to human beings. I shall start moving equiptment and drones and robots to the world so that I could personally study the world from within..." Robotnik then said to his recording device.
"...So your grandfather the noted Doctor Gerald Robotnik had actually been working on doorways to other planets before his disappearence and you have found remnants of his work. What else did you find amongst his posessions?" the Secretary of Defense asked Robotnik still in his hospital bed with the Secretary clearly not being happy to hear that Robotnik was working on research left by his grandfather.
"Not a whole lot but there was an unforseen problem since there was an unexpected power failure at Eggman Inc after I had moved my equiptment through the portal with me inside. The portal closed and I could only watch it close as the machiner caught onto fire from the other side; stuck there all these years. With faulty wiring like that; no wonder that they folded. Now I am back in home sweet home..." Robotnik replied and then came in rushing in an agent with the guards and doctors wanting him to leave.
"Mr Secretary... There's a report from Area 99... The specimen was broken out and the energy source stolen... The blue hedgehog from San Francisco was responsible..." the agent told the Secretary which alarmed him.
"WHAT? Are you sure Stone... Walters assured me that even if that hedgehog survived the fall then it would be in no shape to do anything else... How could it escape with GUN all over San Francisco..." demanded the Secretary in fury as this got Robotnik's attention as he thought about the implication.
"So Sonic was sent here as well and it looks like he has already made an enemy of the local government... I wonder if I can take advantage..." Robotnik thought as he thought of an insidious idea. "Blue hedgehog you say... Well Sonic has always been hard to beat, let alone kill..." Robotnik then put in and they got the looks put back to him.
"You know about this hedgehog..." asked the Secretary suspiciously as Robotnik then nodded.
"Ah yes... All my years stuck on the planet; I have tried my best to make the most of it and do good with my inventions but there has been one enemy that always gets in my way... A true adrenaline junkie, juvenile delinquent, blue blurred devil who seeks only to cause havoc without care of those left in his wake... Drafted sycophants to help him as I have tried in vain to stop him... You know I could help put in my expertise and my own creations that I have come up with and improved upon all of these years dealing with the menace?" Robotnik offered as the Secretary thought it over.
"Mr Secretary; I STRONGLY advice against this as we need more time to look over our patient here and he needs rest..." protested a doctor as Robotnik then leaped out of bed.
"I am as healthy as a newborn and as fit as a fiddle..." Robotnik then said offering a hand to the Secretary who looked him over and accepted it. "Almost as easy to fool as the echidna..." thought Robotnik with glee.
"I am still having trouble accepting this... You a teenager are not only a superhero but have his own plane and your friend is a kid genius!" Maddie said later at the Wachowski house in the living room as they were gathered with Cream playing with Jojo and some stuffed animals.
"That is what you question Maddie with everything that has happened?" Tom decided to ask as there was laughter at this. "So where is this plane..." Tom decided to ask as Tails sighed.
"I crashed when I came here and had to activate a cloaking device hidden in the trunk for emergencies. Hide it until I can get what I need to repair it. I had my backpack of gadgets and used the Miles Electric to locate a Chaos Emerald signature when I spotted Sonic. I was relieved to find him safe and sound but I knew he would need my help so I snuck to the atenna and used the Miles Electric to hack into the base's systems. Not as aadvanced as any of Robotnik's systems so no problem!" Tails then explained with his backpack as Sonic showed the Chaos Emerald.
"Glad to find you safe and sound buddy and we are stuck here... if this is here then the others coudl be as well and finding them all could be our best bet to getting back to Mobius!" Sonic then then said as Tom and Maddie stared at the Emerald; finding it hard to believe that it was an artefact of great power.
"Until then; we just need to keep you all out of the eyes of strangers and find somewhere to hide this magic Gem of Ultimate Power!" Tom then said and then faced Jojo. "So Jojo; we need to keep this to ourselves and please no pictures to put online..." Tom told Jojo softly as she nodded in understanding.
"But what do we do if this Robotnik guy that you brought up is here as well?" Maddie asked as Cream was startled at the mention of this but Sonic just grinned.
"Giving him his usual butt kicking off course!" Sonic then explained simply.
Yep; Sonic came here to rescue Cream with this chapter being mainly an adaptation of the 2nd episode of Sonic X and I have to admit with her eyelashes like that; Cream always looks like she is wearing glasses to me. Still I have always liked Cream and I find it shame that she isn't used more in the franchise. Plus a cameo from Dark Visor who is a Darth Vader parody from the Fleetway comics; though from the look he looks less dignified than even Helmet from Spaceballs.
