Chapter 7: The Swamp:

Golden Sun's POV:

Now that we had gotten to know our two-headed friends, there was still the matter of leaving, but we then ran into more trouble.

"It's Ting Song's manticore," I said.

"Let's go," says Garrett.

We then ran for our lives.

"Can you guys glide us out of here?" I asked.

"We can't glide," says Abelath; "we explained that before our song."

We ended up going through some crazy stuff to get away, but we did.

Ting Song's POV:

We hae murdurred a' th' gargoyles. "Ah cannae hawp a'm reduced tae chasing efter a lassie, a blind jimmy, 'n' a doo." Ah then grabbed mah manticore. "Fin' thaim 'n' tell me whaur they're!" Thare wis na response. "Wur ye listening?"

"Sorry, Mistress, my mouth was full," says Tertirz.

"Typical, o' a' th' evil creatures, ah hud tae fin' yin wi' buird manners."

Golden Sun's POV:

We were now in a swamp.

"We better find some food," says Ozizock.

"How do you manage?" I asked.

"I've learned," says Garrett, "Kaith has been my eyes. He helps me, and if he can't, I rely on my other senses."

"That's handy," I said.

"He found me one day and he helped me cope with my blindness," says Garrett.

"You're very lucky to have someone like Kaith. As for me, I learned that I was betrothed to someone who I've never even met." I said.

"That sounds rough. I personally think that you should marry for love instead of politics," says Garrett, who voices his opinion, which made me smile.

I also believe in marrying for love instead of politics and that I have always wanted to meet someone who loves me for me and not for my title.

Kaith starts mocking Ozizock and Abelath.

"I got news for you, Birdy," says Ozizock, "dinner is served." Ozizock then eats Kaith, but Kaith comes out through Abelath's mouth.

"I can also rely on memory," says Garrett. "I've been through some stuff like this, enough times."

"You have a really good memory," I said.

Mythia's POV:

We were on our way to find Golden Sun along with our new dwarf friend.

"That demon might expect us," says Thirumlin.

"Then we better be careful," says Buttercup.

"This way," I said.

We continued moving.

Golden Sun's POV:

We were still walking through the swamp.

"So, why is that demon cursing you anyway," asks Ozizock.

"I wish I knew," I said.

We continued to walk, but then we heard something.

"I think trouble's around here," says Garrett.

Singer: When darkness comes and steals the light
We're left with no other choice
But to take cover in our cave
For the night belongs to him

To go out at night would be a mistake
You would surely meet your demise
We're safe for now
But the night belongs to him

At night (Chorus: He comes)
He sees (Chorus: He knows)
When the rest of us don't (Chorus: Look out!)
Oh, no! (Chorus: Oh, no!)
What's that? (Chorus: He's here!)
I don't think we're alone

We face each day, but we run from the night
Every sound that we hear makes us think it's over
Because we know the night belongs to the Ogre

A terrible beast with enormous claws
Whose only need is to feast
Don't get in his way
He'll be the last thing that you see

Certain death awaits in the dark
Beware, take care, retreat
Stay in the cave
And pray you wake from your sleep

At night (Chorus: He comes)
He sees (Chorus: He knows)
When the rest of us don't (Chorus: Look out!)
Oh, no! (Chorus: Oh, no!)
What's that? (Chorus: He's here!)
I don't think we're alone

We face each day, but we run from the night
Every sound that we hear makes us think it's over

Because we know the night belongs to the Ogre

Back into
Our cold, wet cave
Dark and grim

Suffer through
'Cause the night
Belongs to him!
