Chapter 9: The Tale of Garrett:

Golden Sun's POV:

Garrett needed to rest his leg.

"I've been meaning to ask," says Garrett, "who are the people who've been raising you?"

"Reginald and Tillota," I said.

Garrett was surprised. "I knew your adopted Father!"

Garrett's Story:

I was once a stable boy, but I dreamed of being a knight. One day, there was a fire. My parents and I were saving your birth father's horses, but at the cost of my sight and my parents' lives. They sacrificed themselves so that I could live, but I have been blind ever since. Your adopted father then trained me to work without my sight. He taught me how to use my other senses and how to fight blind. He also taught me the code of the Knights. I suppose I owe everything to him.

Golden Sun's POV:

"That's a lovely story. What were your parents' names" I said.

"Geffrai and Adelysia," Garrett said with a sad look on his face.

I then placed my hand on his cheek.

Mythia's POV:

We were freeing the dwarves.

"Where's Golden Sun?" asked Thirumlin.

"With a two-headed gargoyle and a blind man," says Bramrik.

"Terrific," says Thirumlin.

Ting Song's POV:

Ah wis traivelin whin ah sensed something. 'twas th' apple! Th' gey apple A'm needin'! Noo a' a'm needin' is th' perfect disguise!

Ting Song: A'body see mah sunny

I'm gonnae mak' some trauchle (Chorus: so good)
I'm gonnae fin' some trouble
Oh, na!

Golden Sun's POV:

We continued to walk, but I was thinking. I'm going to put them in danger just like my adopted mother, the Fairies, and the Dwarves.

"I have something to tell you," I said.

. . .

It was hard, but I had to leave them. I had to go on my own. Then a strange woman came.

To Be Continued

In the next chapter, the strange woman makes Golden Sun an offer.
