The scene cuts to everyone in the kitchen. They still have their holiday outfits on but now they donned festive apron and chef hats: Ragatha has a red apron with Raggedy Ann and Andy on it, Jax's apron was also red but had a mistletoe on it, Pomni's was green with candy canes, Kinger's was red with nutcrackers on it, Zooble's apron is in the trash, and Gangle's apron was white with angels on it, but they were biblically accurate.
"Now then" Caine said. "You know how every year for christmas, we make a special batch of cookies?"
"It's our favorite tradition," Ragatha said.
"Yes, and now I want you to continue that tradition. Ragatha here will show you her recipe for sugar cookies" Caine said.
"It's a very easy recipe. First get a bowl" Ragatha says. Everyone grabs a bowl, except Gangle, who pulls out a jar.
"Gangle, that's a jar," Ragatha said.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Gangle said. She pulls out a bowl.
"Now we need 2 eggs, flour, sugar and milk," Ragatha said.
5 minutes later, chaos in the kitchen. Gangle is crying, Kinger is screaming and running around, there's fire everywhere, and Jax and Pomni are staring at their misshapen cookies. Ragatha and Caine are trying to put out the fires. Zooble is also on fire.
"Is Christmas like this all the time?" Pomni said.
"Yeah, but you get used to it," Jax said. "Can't have a holiday without something catching fire"
"Hey Pomni, is that pair of purple scissors supposed to be me or what you want to do with Ragatha tonight?" Jax says, staring at Pomni's cookies.
"Jax!" Pomni says, hiding her cookies.
"I jest!" Jax said. He takes the Gangle cookie he made and breaks it in half. "Want one?"
Pomni silently nods. Jax hands her a piece and they both eat in silence.
"So, I heard you got the hots for Dollface" Jax suddenly says. Pomni nearly chokes on her cookie.
"Where did you hear that?" Pomni said.
"Gangle snitched," Jax said. "It's fine if you wanna kiss her under the mistletoe. But Just so you know, I want dibs too"
"Do you like Ragatha?" Pomni said.
"Are you a cop?" Jax asks. Pomni shakes her head.
"No way, I just think it would be funny to embarrass her" Jax said. Pomni sighs of relief.
"So you DO like Dollface?" Jax said.
"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL" Pomni says. "I just think she's super nice and she is very helpful and really pretty-I SAID TOO MUCH"
Pomni makes a run for the door but crashes into Ragatha, who drops her fire extinguisher, which explodes. Good news is that the fire is out. The bad news is that there was foam everywhere, even on the cookies they made. Gangle cries again.
"Oh well, we always have the fruitcake," Caine says. He snaps his fingers and the kitchen is clean again.
"Why don't we take a break for the day?" Caine says. "Tomorrow, we're singing Christmas songs. So get your voices ready"
"NOOOOOO" Zooble says. Everyone leaves the kitchen and goes to their rooms. Zooble takes off the wreath that was in their door.
"Pomni, how are you enjoying our Christmas traditions so far?" Ragatha asks.
"I'm still confused as to why we are celebrating in November," Pomni said.
"I guess Caine wants us to keep us sane by bringing the season early," Ragatha says. "I guess I can't complain because I really like Christmas and everything about it. The music, the snow, the presents, the hot cocoa. It feels nice to be together with my friends"
"This is our first Christmas with Pomni!" Gangle says.
"And this is our first Christmas without-" Jax stops himself, Everyone goes silent.
"Our first Christmas without…" Ragatha said. Pomni can see her pupil shake as if she was about to cry.
"Kaufmo…."
