Bart
I knocked on Ivy's hotel door.
She opened the door.
I stepped into the room.
"Did you bring it?" I questioned.
"Yes."
Ivy shut the door.
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours first."
She put her hand on her hip.
"I'm divorcing Lily. Here are the papers."
I handed Ivy the divorce papers.
"You may leak them to whomever you choose."
"That's hardly enough."
She threw the divorce papers down.
"Lily's been divorced four- Five times already." Ivy pointed out.
"Who can keep count?" She inquired.
"I want her humiliated." Ivy told me.
"What did you have in mind?"
"Take off your clothes."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. Strip."
She pulled her top off.
I unbuttoned my suit jacket.
I loosened my tie.
I took my shirt off.
"Before we do this, the microfilm."
"Oh. No. We're not actually going to have sex. I just wanna take a couple snapshots to make it look like we did. All that matters is that Lily believes she lost two husbands to me." Ivy laid out the plan.
"I'm fine being your Eliot Spitzer scandal. But I'm a pay for play kinda guy. The microfilm first."
She turned her back to her purse.
Ivy pulled the microfilm out.
She walked over to me.
The door was opened.
It was Chuck.
"Ivy." He called.
"Oh, gosh."
Ivy handed the microfilm to me.
"Don't do this. My father will screw you, then screw you over. It's not too late to do the right thing."
"Behind the curve as always, Chuck. It is too late."
I opened the envelope.
It was empty.
I tore it open.
"What is this? Some kind of joke?" I questioned.
She stared at the empty envelope in surprise.
Ivy walked over to her purse.
I threw the envelope aside.
Lily
I descended the staircase.
Rufus walked into the Living Room.
"What in the world are you doing here?"
"I know I said I wouldn't help you but I changed my mind." He told me.
Rufus pulled the envelope out.
"I have what you're looking for."
Gossip Girl
"They say nothing inspires forgiveiness quite like revenge."
Lily
I took the microfilm from Rufus.
I smiled at him.
Bart
"The microfilm was in that envelope. I swear." Ivy told me.
"If you don't find it and hand it over, all the torture you wished on Lily, it'll seem like child's play." I threatened.
"My father's threats aren't idle. Neither are mine." Chuck threatened.
"There's only one person who knew I had it who might know where it is."
We glanced at each other.
Ivy
I had my phone out.
I hit "William."
Lily
I handed Rufus a cup of tea.
"Thanks."
I poured a little bit of Vodka into my tea.
"Since when did you start spiking your Chamomile?" He questioned.
"Oh. It's been a rough day."
"Hope this makes things a bit better."
Rufus placed the microfilm on the couch.
"You have no idea. Thank you, Rufus." I thanked.
"What made you change your mind?" I questioned.
"Ivy's not who I thought she was. I know. I should've been tipped off by the whole pretending to be your niece thing."
"Well, you always believe the best in people. It's your virtue and your downfall."
He placed the tea cup and saucer on the Coffee table.
"I still see the best in you, Lil. After everything that we've been through, it's probably safe to say that we won't be together again. But we were family for a long time and that means something. I'd really like peace between us."
Rufus put his hand out.
I put my hand in his.
Rufus stood up.
He walked away.
Dan
"Dad. Hey." I greeted.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned.
"You inspired me to make some amends of my own, son."
"Are you getting back together with Lily?"
I was confused.
"No. I'm just returning something of Lily's that Ivy stole."
Dad looked back at Lily.
He walked pass me.
She was going over the microfilm records with a scope.
I brought my phone out.
I was texting Chuck.
Bart
"Why is this person taking so long getting back to you?" I questioned.
"I- I don't know."
Chuck's phone chimed.
He pulled it out of his inside jacket pocket.
Chuck
It was a text from Humphrey.
"LILY HAS IT."
Bart
Chuck looked up from his phone.
He tucked it back into his jacket pocket.
Chuck headed to the door.
"Where are you going?" I demanded an answer.
"Does Blair need you to come voer to kill a spider?" I inquired, as he turned back around.
"I'm not wasting anymore time."
"So, you're giving up?" I questioned.
"What a shocker." I commented.
"You're right. You know me so well."
Chuck headed out of the room.
He shut the door behind himself.
"My patience is wearing thin. You better make this person appear fast."
Chuck
Lily was standing in front of the fireplace.
A fire was lit.
"Lily, please! Don't protect him."
She turned to face me.
"Why wouldn't I protect my husband?"
I stared at Lily.
"He's the only one that protects me."
"No. That's not true."
"You're the one willing to go to any lengths and I've had enough of it."
"I know you wanna believe he is a changed man. That he is a good man. And I wanted to believe that too so badly. But the truth is he is a ruthless criminal. If you destroy that evidence, there is nothing to stop him from hurting anyone. Including you."
She was doubtful.
"That's ridiculous, Charles. He would never hurt me. Since his return, he has done nothing but prove his love."
I walked closer to Lily.
"You once told me my father was incapable of love. That is the truth. I just saw him in a hotel room half-naked with Ivy."
She glowered.
"That lie is beneath even you, Charles. I'm not gonna let you or anyone else threaten our family ever again."
"Don't."
Lily threw the microfilm in the fire.
Gossip Girl
"Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. Even the best laid plans can go bust."
Chuck
I walked away from the fire place.
Lily walked away from the fire place.
Serena
I had saw Mom throw the microfilm in the fireplace.
Chuck had watched her do it.
Both of them walked away from the fireplace.
The fire was still lit.
I stuck my hand in the fireplace.
I pulled the microfilm out.
Most of it wasn't burned.
I walked away with it.
Bart
I walked into the apartment.
Serena's whole left arm was burned.
"What the hell happened to you?"
"Uh... Horsing around with Blair."
"Doing what exactly?"
"Playing "Truth or Dare."
"And I'm gonna guess that you chose "Dare?"
"Oh, you know me so well."
"And what was the dare exactly?"
"Putting my hand in a lit fireplace."
"And why didn't you choose "Truth?"
"You know all the crazy things Upper East Side young adults do, Bart. You've watched Chuck make mistakes from afar."
"I have."
"Mistakes make people who they are. So, you must not have made a lot of mistakes."
"Serena Celia!" Lily called.
"I apologize. That was rude."
"That's what I thought." She commented, walking in the Living Room.
"How was Blair's pop-up show?" Lily questioned.
I looked up at Serena.
"It was nice, Mom."
"What did you do after the show?"
"Just played a few rounds of "Truth or Dare." Normal friends game. Best friends game."
"Uh-huh."
I wasn't convinced.
"You gonna have William check out those burns from whatever stupid dare you did?"
"Probably."
She ran up the stairs.
"I burned the microfilm."
"It's gone?"
"Yeah."
We hugged.
