Louis
Beatrice and me were walking down the trails at Grimaldi Park.
A blonde and brunette were running ahead of us.
The blonde was in a pink tank top, black leggings, and pink Nike.
The brunette was in a blue tank top, blank spandex leggings, and blue Nike.
You could tell that the blonde was more fit than the brunette.
"We have to hit the nail salon before we leave."
"And I got to stop by the Atelier to make sure things are running smoothly before we leave."
"Where is my brother when we need him?"
"In Australia with Jack. Deciding what to do with the microfilm."
I realized the blonde's whole left arm was burned.
"Whoa." Beatrice commented.
"That had to hurt." I commented.
"Go. Go!"
The brunette ran off.
The blonde turned around.
It was Serena.
"I promised my brother I'd keep Blair away from the likes of you."
"Your brother?"
"You don't know, do you?"
I crossed my arms.
"My mother adopted Chuck at 17. Shortly after Bart's disappearance."
"You just left him in Australia alone?"
"He's taking his time with his Uncle. Deciding what to do with that great father of his."
"Bart Bass is alive?"
"Unfortunately. And I have the misfortune of living with him again."
"Guessing you don't like him?"
"Nobody likes Bart Bass. Besides my mother. Which I still don't comprehend. But... That's her cross to bare."
"You're very pretty."
"And she is very taken by another man." Blair pointed out, standing next to Serena.
She gave me a dark look.
"You were taken and I stole you."
"Pig." She commented.
"Luckily, Bart and Chuck were able to convince her ex to come around."
"What?"
"We were worried about you making the same mistake I did. And Bass Industries doesn't have the money to bail another one of us out of a Marriage to this guy."
"So, you went behind my back? And Chuck decided to be miserable?"
"Yeah. But I wasn't part of the plan. "Too close to the situation. Conflict of interest. Biased opinion." According to Bart."
"Bart has no room to talk."
"Mm."
"He wants to build my mother her dream house."
"So, I heard."
"Yeah."
"And you too."
"Yeah. Which means he wants me out."
Blair was amused.
"At least, mine isn't trying to get rid of me."
"Your mother is too busy staying here to give a damn."
"I guess so."
"At least, he'll build the house of our dreams."
"Mm-hmm."
"Mm."
"And if you have it your way, it'll be yours and Steven's house."
"Yeah."
"You really love Steven, don't you?"
"I love him so much it hurts."
"Put a ring on it then."
"Taking advice from a divorcee?"
"I guess so."
Serena was amused.
"But whatever decision you make, let it come from your heart, not your head. Your head is full of doubts and insecurities."
"Clearly your head was right."
"My heart was right. And I ignored it."
She placed her hands on her shoulders.
"I don't care if it's the night before the Wedding or day of the Wedding. If you have feelings for Dan, do not marry Steven. Because that's not fair to either of you. And it's not only you two have to think about. It's Sage too."
"I know."
"Mm."
"You did it because you thought it was your promise to God that saved Chuck's life. Not Bart's blood. If you knew what you knew now then, you would've made a different decision."
"Probably."
"You will be together. Jack will convince Chuck to do the right thing with the Microfilm."
"Will he be able to get through to him though?"
"Jack is a Bass too, Blair. He knows what he can be like."
"I hope so."
"I know so."
They smiled at each other.
They walked away together.
Serena was amused.
She was talking.
"Bart is hoping Chuck will accept building his dream house as a Christmas gift."
"I hope so too."
"Of course he'll ask for your input."
They continued walking alongside each other.
They were just talking.
Jack
I had the microfilm in my hand.
"So, this envelope contains the blessing we need to stop Bart. Once and for all."
"Yeah."
"But you don't wanna use it."
"I just want to wait until Bart has the Architect do the blueprints for the dream houses of Lily, Serena, and me. I can get the construction crew to listen to me. But the Architects don't like to listen to me."
"So, you want the blueprints done first and then you'll make your move?"
"Yeah."
"Okay."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I trust you to do the right thing."
"But you have to keep it here. Keep it safe. Keep it a secret from Bart."
"Got it."
"Can you handle that, Uncle Jack?"
"Yeah."
"Are you sure?"
"Chuck, go join Blair and Serena in Paris."
"Mm."
"Have fun."
"I will."
"Trust me-- I can handle my brother."
"Okay."
"Please try not to worry."
"Don't lose it."
"I won't."
Chuck walked out.
I sighed.
I hid the microfilm.
