Disclaimer: don't own Harry Potter. Idea came from Ausar the Vile

Severus, for the first time in a long time, had an amazing Christmas. He and Pandora managed to find some of her books, and her shoes were hung from a balcony near Ravenclaw tower. Severus wanted to continue to look for the rest of her books, but Pandora said," It will show up. Nargles don't usually keep things for a long time,"

Then Severus asked,"Well, why do nargles take things anyway?"

Then Pandora replied,"Well, nargles get a sick sort of pleasure from taking things from people, especially when said people don't have friends to help them. So nargles get away with it, and the victims end up having to find their items."

"Huh, nargles are jerks," said Severus.

Then Pandora began laughing,"Yeah, I guess they kind of are."

Then she asked," So, why did you decide to stay here? Most other people I know don't stay here, and if they do they have a good reason. So, and sorry if this is intrusive, why did you stay?"

Severus was thinking,"Oh no, should I tell her about my dad. Should I tell her about my mom planning to 'deal with him' and that I didn't want to get involved in whatever it is. Should I tell her about my dad always spending any money we have on alcohol. What about the job I had to get to earn any money whatsoever. Or should I just say nothing."

Severus decided to say,"Oh, there was no reason why I stayed,"

Then Pandora said,"Okay," but she obviously didn't believe him. Severus just hoped that she didn't know how to read minds. With nothing else to do, Severus headed back to the common room.

The next day he was at the great hall when Lily's owl came to him. Severus took the letter and read it, and he immediately realized that his mom must have killed his father. He was not that sad about his father dying, but his mother was in jail now. Severus looked down at his plate. He had only eaten a third of his food, yet he wasn't hungry. He folded up the letter and decided to walk around the castle to clear his thoughts.

He was walking around the painting of Barnabas the barmy trying to teach trolls ballet thinking," I need a place to myself where nobody can go," and then, the third time passing the wall, a mysterious door appeared. Severus didn't know where it came from, but he went inside it. The room was a library. Books and books that only Severus could read. He took one of the books and sat on a cushion that was on the floor. He began reading.

Meanwhile, Pandora managed to find her last book. She wanted to tell Severus, but she couldn't find him. She didn't think too much about it, he could have just been in his common room, but she was still a little sad. He helped her find her other things, she hoped he would be interested to know she found all her books.
