A Silent Please
It was golden. The sky and the sand met in the middle at the sea, blending into one horizon.
No mission sat in their minds, no life or death, no pressure. Just the feeling of the fresh warm salted air and friendly faces setting any pumping anxious veins at ease.
Bob ran with a different type of adrenaline than what was produced in the skies. It was the kind that made you wanna laugh and be the good kind of insane. He caught the foot ball with a touchdown adding to the non-existent score. They all yelled madly, happily hoisting him up on Roosters shoulders. Maverick and Penny both wore big uncontrollable grins seeing the team bonding and creating friendships. Especially lifting up Bob of all people. The smile on his face told it all, they needed this.
The sweat falling off their brows sent their feet toward the water. Some of them splashed continuing to be crazy and playful as others relished the cool water around their wading feet. Bob stood between the sand and the water, right where the tide teased the shore and pulled sand from under your feet as it fell away.
His shirt hung with ocean soaking its fibers. He rose it up over his stomach and chest and took it off above his head. He wrung it out into the sea unintentionally flexing all the beautifully sculpted muscles in his arms and torso. They were impressive yet modest. His tender sleepers body wasn't meant to be found, though when it was it seemed to be found without flaw. The light touched his tan skin with gentle seduction. His broad shoulders looked safe, his hands protective yet innocent. The low merigold sun reflected off the droplets that slipped down his body and off his hair. He didn't think anyone was looking his way, though Halo, Phoenix's only female counterpart, nudged her as she gestured toward him. He might as well have been moving in slow motion. They looked at him and back at each other with mouths open resisting the urge to giggle. Of course all the other guys had great builds, even Mav, but that was expected and gladly enjoyed. But Bob had worn a t-shirt, was he a tease or just sweet? Definately the ladder which is what made his physique such a pleasant surprise.
"Hey Bob come on it's time for a drink!", yelled Rooster.
Bob nodded with a smile as he put his damp shirt back on and bent over slightly shaking his hair out in the water. He walked toward the group as he dried his glasses lenses off on his shirt.
The late afternoon sun soon sagged below the stable horizon line. Gold turned to misty blue, the beautiful pergatory between day and night. The bar was much less busy than usual that night, or maybe just more tame, maybe both.
Bronze beer soothed peaceful lieutenants as they barely said a word in the tranquil evening. Maverick sat nearby as he talked softly to Penny while still watching over his daggers.
"Is that yours Fanboy?", asked Rooster pointing to the guitar next to Fanboy leaned against the wall.
He shook his head. "Nah, I think it's that old timers who helps Penny run this place.".
"Hmm. Anyone play?", asked Rooster. He did love music. He would've gotten on the keys but he was too comfortable and wanted to sit and listen for once.
His eyes darted around as they shook their heads. "Come on I'd love to hear a tune. What about you Hangman I bet you know a little.", he said too lazy to add in an insult.
"No Rooster believe it or not there is something I can't do. I know how shocking that must be for you take all the time you need.", he replied recieving a few tired laughs. "I'd put my money on Bobbo. Everyone learns guitar in the south right? It's like a right of passage or something.".
Bob chuckled. "I hate to encourage stereotypes but you got me there, I know a little.".
"Play somethin nice fly boy.", said Rooster leaning back and closing his eyes.
"Oh well I haven't really played in a long time.", he said sheepishly.
"Come on, it'd be nice.", said Phoenix with an encouraging smile as Fanboy held it up to him.
Bob sighed and nodded in relent. "Ok.", he said taking it.
(A/N interruption, I suggest listening to the song Last Night by Karaoke Sesh but imagine it changing at some point so its not too boring and without the background beat added in cuz its obvi supposed to be acoustic-).
A slow steady melody bled from the perfectly in tune strings. Every note entered their calm ears like a trance. Voices within the hard deck soon became non-existent as everyone listened like being put under a wonderful spell. His fingers plucked each string with gentle sublimity never making a mistake. There was nothing outside the room except maybe the ocean and the sky. Not even that. There was no time before this moment or after it. No thoughts. Just the all consuming notes that seeped into everything and everyone.
When the song ended Rooster didn't open his relaxed eyes but he shook his head. "Keep playing.", he said simply. The please was silent but they all heard it.
Bob then looked at Hangman. He nodded in agreement. "Go on.", he said softly.
(A/N: Listen to Flower Shops intrumental by guitar tribute players).
And so he did with a tender smile as the last of the sun just about disappeared. Maverick would soon slide onto his motorcycle with Penny slipping in behind him, wrapping her fingers around his warm torso. Rooster would pile half of the gang in his truck including Bob, the other half in Hangman's Jeep. One car followed the other down the empty island road but for moonlight and the view of the dark blue beach to their right. They'd forget to turn on the radio or mutter a word as they drove with the windows down and the night wind drying any ocean they had left on them. But for now they just listened, letting Bob play their minds to rest.
A/N: Ahh how nice was that. I love reading that and listening to the songs in my headphones as I do, imagining Bob playing them. Queue squeal*. Oh and back on the beach must I specify that every single person saw his super hot body? Well they did and I don't know if I ship Bob and Phoenix but I could be down idk. I can't imagine Bob with anyone (but me haha) but seriously idk if someone requested that I wouldn't say no per say I mean it could be great. PLEASE REVIEW IM BEGGING YOU!! You cant see it but im on my knees
