Chapter 1

I sat in the tall grass, nocking my bow.

"Squawk."

"Hush, Cookie." I whispered under my breath. I kept my eye on the pig a few feet away from me.

"Squawk!"

The brown parrot flew from my shoulder and up into a tree.

"Coward." I muttered. I looked back at the pig and pulled back the string on my bow.

"SQUAWK!!"

My fingers slipped and the arrow flew. Right, past, the pig. The pig's head lifted up.

"Cookie!!!" I hissed. I looked at the bird then back at the pig. My eyes widened. The pig turned and looked at me, it's white with a hint of purple, eyes glaring at me.

"Oh crud." I should have noticed with it's waxy looking, discolored skin. I stood up and ran as the pig chased me, squealing an unholy squeal. Cookie flew from his branch and soared along side me. I looked behind me and shot a couple of arrows. None stopped it though. I ran out of the forest and toward the village.

"Withered!" I yelled. I ran up to the emergency bell and rang it three times. The villagers ran for their houses in panic. I ran for mine, the pig hot on my tail. I ran into my house and shut the door behind me. The door bumped. I backed away slowly, reaching for my chest.

*Bump*

I pulled out my shovel. It was my only weapon, besides my wooden hoe and bow.

*Bump*

I heard the pig squeal once more, then walked off. I let out a sigh of relief, slumping to the floor. I jumped as I heard something tap the glass of my windows. I turned toward my window and breathed easy.

"Cookie.." I sighed as I opened the window for him. He flew in and went straight for my cookie on the kitchen counter. "Cookie!" I yelled, grabbing the cookie from him. "You know you can't eat this?!"

Though I don't know why I bother. He was a strange parrot. He had already eaten a whole cookie and some how survived. I put the cookie in my food chest and shut it. I look back at Cookie and glared at him. He ruffled his feathers and flew off to his perch. I sighed, throwing my cloak onto my couch. I grabbed my favorite book and sat down. I turn to the parrot page.

Parrots

Parrots will dance to music and are a great companion.

I scoffed and looked at Cookie. He let out a whistle and buried his head into his feathers. I went back to my book.

Give them seeds and they will follow you everywhere. Don't give them a cookie, otherwisethey would die.

I rolled my eyes. "Tell that to Cookie." Cookie opened an eye then went back to sleep. I chuckled and turned toward another page.

Pigs

Pigs are good for food. Some may keep them as a pet. They are common in plains and forests.

My brow furrowed as I read this. Before the Wither Plague, everything was fine. But now, The Heros are gone. Golems no longer worked. Weapons withered away. People disappeared.

I stopped myself. It hurt to remember anything about the disappearance of people.

I closed my book. That was enough reading for today. I glanced out the window. It was nearly sunset. I stood up. I would have to check on the chickens. Walking up to the back door, I glanced through the window. There was something in the chicken pen. I grabbed my bow and opened the door, walking outside. It was some sort of brown lump, but it was breathing.

"Hey!" I called out. The lump stirred, groaning. The chickens clucked and shifted toward the other side of the pen. I nocked my bow, slowly aiming it at the lump. The brown lump stood up. It was taller then me. I realized the brown was a cloak. It's back faced me.

"Hands up." I said sternly. The figure held up their hands. "Who are you?" I asked. The figure slowly turned, their hood over their face.

"Take off your hood." I demanded. The figured hesitated for a moment, their left arm trembled. Was I intimidating? Their hand reached up to the hood and pulled it back.

I gasped. "Herobrine."

His white eyes lit up as he grinned. Then he collapsed in front of me.
