Following his departure from the Savannah City Zoo's living area, Trunks was now making his way back to the portal device in the nearby forest. However, he was still a mile away from the woods, when he ended up collapsing. "I really should've got some food before I left.", he lamented. "And a map to the woods." Realising it was too late to do anything about this, he decided to let his body's natural urges win, falling asleep where he had collapsed. His eyes fully closed a fraction of a second before he would've seen a looming figure approach him.

The next day, Marina, Lenny and Tora were woken up to a shocking announcement from Johnny. "You want us to get a what?", they alls aid in unison.

"A job.", Johnny repeated. "After all, I can't have you all lying around here until you turn into couch potatoes."

"Actually, it's impossible for people to turn into potatoes.", Lenny pointed out. "And even if they could, the couch would have to be covered in soil."

"It's an expression.", Johnny explained. "It means that you'd get fat from lack of exercise. Which is why today, I'll be taking you downtown to find occupations to spend your time at when we're not fighting monsters."

"That sounds like a good idea.", Marina decided. "It would also allow us to get to know more about this planet through experience."

"Okay then, Johnathan.", Lenny immediately stated. "Take us to these 'jobs'."

"Alright then.", Johnny nodded. "If you'll follow me."

Sooner or later, the 4 had moved into town and boarded a bus. "4 for downtown, please.", Johnny said as he paid for the tickets. Having acquired the tickets, they all sat down on the bus. "Alright, ow just stay sat down until I tell you our stop. If someone tries talking to you, keep it up as long as you can."

"Got it.", Marina nodded as she sat down next to an old woman. As the bus stopped at the next location, she saw a man in black leather emerge from the streets and sit behind her. After which, he took out a small glass and metal box and tapped on it a few times, before a loud noise blared through the air. It sounded like "You've got to keep that microwave oven", or something similar. The old lady seemed annoyed by it, but not as much as Marina was. "Excuse me sir.", she tried asking him as calmly as possible. "But would you mind-?"

"Hey, it's my music, and I'll play it as loud as I want.", the man snapped back at her. "So back off, lady."

Scowling, Marina knelt down and clenched her head, so that everyone would think she was simply reeling from the loud noises. But in actuality, she shifted into her Animan form, and released a sonic wave that was imperceptible to humans, but was having a major effect on the man's device. Not only was the volume made louder, but the song was changed to one which went "Kisses for me, save all your kisses for me. Bye bye, baby. Bye bye. Don't cry, honey. Don't cry!"

Everyone on the bus suddenly turned towards the man, who now looked far less confident. "I swear, it's not me.", he insisted, despite the music coming from his device. He eventually got the hint, and turned down the volume, before getting off the bus…

Marina then heard him screaming, shocking her back to her human form. She looked out the window, to see a red and blue alien, with growths on his left side resembling a dartboard and a spear weapon. "I think this is our stop.", she whispered to Johnny. He nodded and the 4 Rangers got off the bus.

"Well well, if it isn't my lucky day.", the alien laughed as he saw them. "Red, Blue, Yellow, White… hey, where's Green?"

"Safely on his way home.", Tora answered him. "Which is where he'll stay once we beat you, erm… what's your name?"

"You can call me Dartshooter.", the alien answered her. "I was sent here to take the Cubezords from you 5. But one of you going back to Cubalia isn't a problem. I'll simply deal with him later."

"That is if you can get past us.", Johnny stated as everyone pulled out their Morphers. "It's Morphin' Time!"

"Primal Spirits, Awaken!" Everyone instantly morphed and ran into battle. Dartshooter knocked everyone back with his weapon, which he then threw at Johnny's sword when he tried summoning it. He then ran forward to grab Lenny, throwing him against a lamppost, before turning around to deliver simultaneous punches that knocked the two girls down.

"This guy's a lot more dangerous than the last one.", Lenny noted as he pulled himself free. "But we can still overcome him." He assembled his Primal Saber, before leaping forward.

But Dartshooter had recovered his weapon by this point. "You really aren't taking me seriously, aren't you?" He asked, as he pointed his weapon at the sky. "Perhaps you need a taste of my dart rain." The weapon generated a cloud, which rained down spears onto Lenny, sending him flying backwards in an explosion. "You were easy prey for me. But all you've done is help out in my rehearsal. I'll be back for the main show shortly." With that said, he teleported out.

"Looks like we shouldn't have let Trunks go after all.", Marina noted. "We need him if we want to stand a chance against that guy."

"Right.", Lenny nodded. "I'll go and find him. Johnny, you carry on helping them find a job."

"Good luck.", Johnny nodded. "I can only imagine searching for a specific Animan in Cubalia would be like searching for a needle in a haystack."

"Remarkably easy?", Marina asked. "Because logically, a needle being silver would make it stick out once you were getting close."

"It's an expression.", Johnny sighed, before grabbing both ladies' arms. "Now then, let's head for town."

Back onboard the Space Hunters' mothership, Cuborg was explaining Dartshooter to Archris. "Analysis! Dartshooter can generate clouds that rain down arrows of pure energy. Hypothesis! If targeted at certain areas, the scenery that the Cubezords find unfamiliar, namely cities, would be eradicated. Conclusion! Applied in a certain way, Dartshooter could ensure the Cubezords fall into our hands."

"An interesting stratagem, to be sure.", Ignoblia commented. "But I must ask a question of you Lord Archris. Where is Keldor? Why has he chosen to not make himself present?"

"He informed me he was working on his own mission.", Archris answered. "As long as it contributes towards our goals and doesn't interfere, then I have allowed him permission to research the planet Earth."

"Interesting.", Ignoblia commented.

"Opinion!", Cuborg spoke up. "Keldor's actions are irrelevant. Declaration! Dartshooter will succeed in his intentions before Keldor's research will become necessary."

"You bet I will.", Dartshooter announced. "Because I'm going to be starting on the main show soon enough."

In the woods, Trunks came to, finding that he was now next to a fire, that showed no signs of burning out. "So, you're awake." Trunks turned to see a familiar bird-like humanoid standing above him. "I was wondering when that would happen."

"Jeremy!", Trunks gasped. "You're here on Earth? So it's true."

"That's right, I fled here in the past.", Jeremy explained, as he presented a meal of grass, shrubs, roots and fruits. "I thought you'd be hungry when you woke up, so I prepared this for you to eat while we talk."

Back in town, Johnny had brought Tora in to check out a job application at a thrift shop, run by a Mrs. Wilhelmina Mack. Marina had chosen to investigate another job offering, going at a preschool. "Mrs. Mack, I saw in your window ad that you had three places open.", Johnny said. "Do you think you could fill one of them with my friend here?"

"Well, I am very short on applicants.", Mrs. Mack said in response. "I'm pretty much hiring the first few people who walk in. Your friend would be the second new worker I've taken on today."

As if on cue, an attractive young man in a work apron stumbled into the room, crashing into the canned food pile and knocking it over. "Sorry about that.", he called out. "I'm okay."

"Jesus, Hyde.", Mrs. Mack sighed. "I know I said I'd go for the three who showed up first, but you're making me rethink that policy. Clean up your mess."

"I'll help.", Tora insisted as she ran forward and knelt down to begin picking up and stacking the cans back up. "Sorry if I'm making things worse for you. I just need this job, or my friend will kill me."

"It's ok.", the other man said, as he also began picking up and stacking the cans. "With two people, this job just goes by a lot faster." He then reached out his hand for a shake. "I'm Adrien by the way."

Tora also extended her hand, but didn't do a handshake, being unfamiliar with the gesture. "I'm Tora. I just moved here."

"'Tora'. That's an Icelandic name.", Adrien noted. "Are you from Iceland?"

"Well, the land I came from did have a lot of snow…", Tora answered. Within minutes, the pair had managed to finish's tacking the shelf once more.

"I have to admit, your friend's pretty good at this.", Mrs. Mack said to Johnny. She then turned to Tora. "Tell ya what, kid. If you can show up at 9 in the morning tomorrow, you've got the job."

"You mean it?", Tora gasped with shock. She then composed herself. "I mean, I'll be happy to help out first thing in the morning."

It was then that Marina came in. "Johnny, good news. The preschool lady said she'd be willing to take me on starting Monday."

"That's good to hear.", Johnny nodded. "Now then, we just need to sort out Lenny. And Trunks, provided we're able to convince him to come back."

Back in the woods, Trunks was getting to the end of explaining his story. "And then I woke up, next to you. But you know that."

"So, you wanted to leave because you felt your debt to the human was repaid.", Jeremy summed up. "Do you know why I left for Earth, and why I didn't tell you?"

"We always assumed you were deserting.", Trunks answered him.

"I left because I found evidence of a crisis coming that Earth would serve as the battleground for." Jeremy continued. "So I came to Earth to hide the Cubezords where they would be safe until we needed them. But in travelling to Earth, there was an error. Not only were the Zords scattered with little input from me, but I found that my primal power had been transferred into a human."

"Johnny.", Trunks realised.

"Indeed.", Jeremy nodded. "And because of that, I was unable to use the power enhancer I took. But I could use it to detect other objects from Cubalia, allowing me to locate some of the Cubezords, like the ones you used. I was also able to manipulate the seal that had been placed on them by the process."

Trunks recalled the words of the mysterious person who had called them during their battle with the giant Trunkrush. "You were the one who aided us earlier, weren't you?"

"Indeed I was.", Jeremy nodded. "Given that I can't return to Cubalia, I figured I might as well provide assistance where I can, even if I can't become one of these Power Rangers."

Trunks was shocked. "Wait, what?"

"Yeah, the portal device was damaged during that alien's attack.", Jeremy explained. "Which means that we can't send anything through to the other side until it gets repaired, however that may happen. Things can probably be sent through from Cubalia though."

"Then I guess I'm stuck here.", Trunks sighed.

"Don't see it like that.", Jeremy scolded him. "Your friends will need your help in defeating the aliens. You need to put your personal feelings about working with my essential replacement and work to keep this planet safe, like you'd do with Cubalia."

It was then that Lenny burst forth through the trees, stating "Trunks!" He then saw who was with him. "And… Jeremy?"

"It's a long story.", Jeremy explained. "I won't be joining with you and the others yet. Not until I have leads on the rest of the Cubezords. But…" He presented what seemed like a smaller version of the de-powered power enhancer. "I have managed to find this one. But I've been unable to awaken it."

Trunks took the cube from his former leader, nodding to him. "I'll make sure that it gets to Johnny, so we can use it."

Lenny gasped at this. "Wait, does that mean…?"

"I'm coming back to the team.", Trunks assured him. "Until the job of defeating the Space Hunters is done."

"I'm glad to hear it.", Jeremy nodded, before standing up as the fire went out. "Good luck with your task." And with that, he set off into the woods.

Back in the city, Dartshooter had reappeared. "Now then, it's time to officially make it clear that this is now a demolition zone. In particular, the entire city." He used his spear to generate a thundercloud, that rained down arrows on the buildings, destroying them, and sending those on the ground fleeing.

This was noticed by Johnny and the girls, who were on their way home. "Looks like this guy isn't wasting any time.", Johnny noted. "Let's go."

"Wait a minute.", Tora realised. "There'll be a lot of people here this time. What do we do about them?"

"I wouldn't worry about them.", Johnny answered her, as he turned to Marina. "They'll run away at the sight of a scary monster, right?"

Marina caught his meaning and smiled, as did Tora. "Right.", both of them nodded.

And in the woods, Lenny and Trunks also saw the destruction. "Looks like we're needed.", Trunks said as he began running off. "Any ideas of what we're up against?"

"Just one.", was Lenny's answer. "I'll fill you in along the way."

At the scene, Dartshooter was continuing his rampage. "Tremble humans, fear me!" But despite this, no-one was running. Instead, they were taking photos and selfies. "Hello? Terrifying alien here. Not a mascot. Please run away."

As if on cue, both Marina and Tora leapt up in their Animan forms, growling at the crowd. "Oh no, there's three of them.", one person cried as everyone turned and ran.

"Ooh, you're pretty good at scaring people away.", Dartshooter noted with an impressed tone. "I'd offer you a job working with us if we weren't enemies."

"And we'd turn it down.", Marina responded to this.

"Mostly because we already got jobs today.", Tora added.

It was then that Johnny arrived, followed shortly after by Lenny and Trunks. "Good news, girls. We are now back to our full power."

"And I assure you, this isn't a temporary thing.", Trunks clarified. "I'm here to stay, until we win this war."

"Big talk.", Dartshooter declared. "Let's see you back it up." He then fired lightning at the Rangers, who took the opportunity to morph.

"Primal Spirits, Awaken!" Everyone leapt out of the explosion, now fully morphed.

"Let's get this over with.", Johnny stated as he led everyone in running towards Dartshooter. He delivered a slash to the enemy, before Marina and Lenny grabbed his arms, giving Trunks and Tora a chance to try and help hold him down. But Dartshooter broke free easily, which caused Johnny to run forward and push Dartshooter away from where he could cause major harm.

"Get your filthy human hands off me!", Dartshooter yelled as he knocked Johnny down, before pulling out some silver coins. "Bacteri, attack!" He threw the coins to the ground, summoning a group of Bacteri, who engaged the Rangers in battle. "I'll leave these guys to deal with you."

"Oh no you won't." Johnny burst free of his fight in short order, defeating the Bacteri with two strikes of his Chain Saber. "Now then,everyone. Let's do this."

"Primal Mode, Unleash!" Everyone then regained their animal like features.

"With this extra power, these chumps are chum.", Marina commented as she took care of two more Bacteri with a flip and a slash manoeuvre. She then leapt into a suddenly manifested pool of water and leapt out to spin towards a large group, w which were taken out even more easily.

"We just need to bring the thunder.", Lenny declared as he trapped a Bacterus between his leg, before using his claws to slash at his entire group, wiping them out.

"These guys are just a distraction.", Trunks noted as he beat his group of opponents back, before jumping up to land with enough force to eliminate them.

"Right.", Tora nodded as she clawed a few Bacteri away and leapt up into a tree. "That alien is the real threat here." She used her vantage point to deliver a few slashes that wiped out the remainder.

"So let's finish up here and defeat him." Johnny came flying down from the sky and started spinning with enough force that the entire remaining Bacteri army was made short work of.

"No!", Dartshooter called out as he saw the explosion. "That should've taken longer. You guys cheated." The alien soon found himself facing down all 5 Rangers. "Well, if it's a fight you want." He charged his spear with dark energy, which he launched at the Rangers, who narrowly dodged before stopping the enlarged spear by jumping on it. "That isn't fair."

"You think trying to destroy innocent lives is fair to them?", Johnny asked as he took out his weapon, configuring it into the Savage Blaster.

The others did likewise, with all 5 firing simultaneous shots. "Primal Blast!" The shots all hit Dartshooter, knocking him and Trunks then ran forward, firing several shots at the alien, before the former delivered a kick from behind, which Dartshooter turned around to receive head-on.

"Johnny, follow my lead.", Trunks insisted as he had the Eagle Ranger swung around to avoid a hit from Dartshooter, before repositioning him where they could deliver shots to his chest directly, knocking him back. "Now let's end this freak."

Trunks led the others in transforming their weapons into Primal Sabers, before all of them leapt up into the air. "Primal Super Slash!" They then transformed into a claw made of energy, with five colour coded tips of red, yellow, green, pink and blue. The claw came down and scratched Dartshooter, turning back into the Rangers as he exploded from the impact.

It was then that Ignoblia teleported down. "Looks like this one failed to hit his target." She inserted a gold coin into his slot. "Perhaps he should try again in the big leagues."

As she teleported away, Dartshooter was revived as a colossus. "Now I'm a real big shot."

"Looks like our job for today isn't done.", Johnny commented, as everyone pulled out their Zords from their pockets. "Cubezords, enlarge!"

The 5 Cubezords flew/galloped into battle with Dartshooter. "Round two begins!" He used his powers to summon a larger flurry of spears, which failed to so much as singe the Cubezords.

"You can't hit us in this state.", Johnny declared, transforming the Eagle back into a cube, which shielded it from the spears launched at it.

"Good idea." Trunks had his Elephant do likewise, which had the additional effect of causing it to skid to a stop.

"Try and defend all you want.", Dartshooter announced, as he created a larger cloud. "I'll just summon more spears."

But the Tiger Zord's claw attacks managed to destroy the spears before they could hit their targets. "Thanks, Tora.", Johnny said as he flew into the cloud. "Now I can bring on the Sun." He set the Eagle on fire, and spun it around to disperse the clouds.

The Shark and Lion then leapt up and bit on Dartshooter's arms. "And don't think you'll be making more clouds.", Lenny taunted him.

"Oh no!", Dartshooter called out.

"Johnny, let's try combining your Eagle with my Elephant and Tora's Tiger.", Trunks suggested.

"Good idea.", Johnny said as he took out his Wild Morpher, pressed the blue button, and dialled the code "1-4-5". Three rings of fire appeared, through which the three Zords leapt and then reverted to their cube forms to combine, with green on the bottom, white in the centre and red on top, with the head sword once more coming down. "Beast Force Megazord, Jungle Formation! Ready!"

"Ah man, this is so flash.", Tora announced with glee, as she was teleported out of her cockpit and into the main one with the other two, armour forming on her. "What's this armour?"

"I think it's some sort of mechanism that synchronises the Megazord's movements with ours.", Trunks suggested. "At least, that's the impression that I get from what Lenny and Marina told me."

"Whatever it is, I like it.", Johnny stated. "Now let's go."

Back on the outside, Dartshooter had overpowered the two Zords holding him down. "Now that I'm free, I'll present you two to Lord Archris."

But then the new Megazord came zooming in, as if propelled by rockets. "Take this.", Trunks announced as he had his Zord foot deliver a kick to Dartshooter that sent him keeling over.

"Did anyone get the number of that robot?", Dartshooter asked as he pulled himself up.

"Didn't like that?", Tora asked. "Well let's see what mine does to you." She had the Megazord zoom forward to hit the alien with her tiger's claws.

The Megazord then moved forward for another kick, and another that disarmed Dartshooter. "Now's our chance.", Trunks stated. "Let's finish him off."

"Good idea.", Tora nodded.

Johnny then prepped the included weapon that the Megazord armour provided, inserting his Morpher into it. "It's time for the Beast Force Super Kick!" The here leapt up, and brought their legs down, which translated to the Beast Force Megazord leaping up and generating a force field from the energies of the three Zords around Dartshooter, meaning that he couldn't escape the kick that followed.

"I missed my target.", Dartshooter cried out as he perished once and for all.

"Alright. Top of the food chain.", Johnny and Tora called out, while Trunks merely watched, realising that this was what he had signed up for.

Back aboard the mothership, Cuborg took note of the loss. "Analysis! Dartshooter may have been a poor choice of subject."

"Exactly.", Keldor noted. "Unlike you, I've been weighing up my options, before choosing a challenger to face these Rangers and retrieve the Cubezords."

Ignoblia then walked over to a coffin that had been placed in the room recently. "I assume that whoever you have in mind resides in this object."

"You'd be correct.", Keldor nodded. "After all, they always say that the old ways are better. So I chose an ancient warrior to complete our task."

"How intriguing.", Archris nodded. "But we shall see just how powerful your warrior is when he awakens to face those Rangers."

Back on Earth, the next day, Tora came to the thrift shop for work, with Trunks accompanying her. "So, you've been asked by Johnny to do this until we can go home?", he asked her.

"Sounds about right.", Tora nodded. "Hey, boss. I'm here.", she called out.

Mrs. Mack's are out of the back room. "Well I'm glad for that.", she commented, before getting a good look at Trunks. "Who's your friend? An applicant for the third position we've got open?"

"I wasn't intending to be.", Trunks answered her, earnestly. "But if you need someone with skills in filing, alphabetising and inventory, then I could help you there."

"Wow, that's exactly what I need.", Mrs. Mack said with shock. "You just hit the nail on the head."

"Actually, I'm pretty sure he just correctly guessed what you were after, Ma'am.", Adrien said as he poked his head out from the shelves he was sorting.

"That's what she meant.", Trunk explained. "It's an expression." Tora was shocked by him knowing this, as he reached out to shake hands with Mrs. Mack. "If you'll take me, I'm happy to be aboard."

"Oh, I'm definitely taking you.", the older woman said with a smile as she eyed Trunks' attractive human guise. "You're hired." From the side, Adrien observed this, smiling at the development.
