Onboard the Hunters' ship, Keldor opened the coffin he had recently brought aboard, revealing an alien with a large tribal mask. "This is Shotiki. 100 million years ago, he was a fierce hunter who prayed on the people of his world using his magic arrows. But he was overcome in the end, with his people sealing him away forever within this indestructible vessel. Until today, that is."

"Question!", Cuborg responded. "How do you intend to make this old fossil obey you? And how will you bring him back to life, after 100 million years of a living death?"

"That was two questions.", Keldor pointed out. "And I'm sure our dear Ignoblia could demonstrate how to bring this warrior back as our servant."

"Of course.", Ignoblia walked up to a pre-installed coin slot, identical to that of their other warriors. Only instead of the gold growth coins, she instead inserted several of the silver Bacteri coins. "The life force of these Bacteri will not only revitalise Shotiki from his sleep, but also make him blindly obedient to our cause."

Sure enough, Shotiki awoke not a few seconds later. "Where am I?", he growled. "Who are you people?"

"We are your new masters.", Archris announced. "You will aid us in our hunt for the Cubezords that have migrated to the planet Earth."

"Ah, a hunt is it?", Shotiki asked. "In that case, I'll gladly take the mission on for you."

"Oh good.", Ignoblia commented. "It seems that even weak arguments have an effect on his conditioned mind. The brainwashing effect has taken hold."

"That's excellent to hear.", Keldor nodded. "Prepare to send him down."

Down on Earth, at the Savannah City Zoo, Johnny and Lenny were working on cleaning out faeces from the elephant exhibiti. "So this is how our distant relatives live.", Lenny commented, barely covering his nose from the smell. "I mean, they'd have to in order to be used to this smell."

"Well at least I'll have this done quicker than usual.", was all Johnny say in response. "Things really go by quicker when we have more people working on a task."

"Oh don't mention it.", Lenny waved it off. "I wasn't as lucky at finding a job as the others, so I'm happy to do whatever helps me pass the time." He then got a good look at a nearby clock, showing the the time was now 12:30 PM. "And speaking of time, we have a lunch date in 15 minutes with the others."

"You go on ahead.", Johnny insisted. "I'll finish up here." Lenny nodded and waved off before departing. Now alone, he took out the cube from Jeremy, the previous leader of the Cubalia Planetary Guardians, which he had received via Trunks. "Why would this one Zord not have come out of its seal yet?" The cube then shot out a beam that touched the nearby giraffe in its exhibit, but the animal paid it as much mind as anything. "Odd.", he noted, before carrying on with the cleanup.

At Mrs. Mack's thrift shop, Marina walked in to see Trunks and Tora. "We still on for the lunch date?", she asked.

"I am, definitely.", Trunks answered her. "But I can't speak for Tora."

"Sorry.", Tora said sheepishly. "But Adrien was a no show today and I kind of volunteered to step in and do his share of the work until he returned. If I'd known what it entailed, I wouldn't have been so eager."

"Well, I'm sure you can suck it up and get the job done." Marina smiled and then grabbed Trunks by the hand, leading him out. "Have fun, Tora."

Tora fumed. "You could've helped me, you know!", she growled, momentarily returning to her true tiger Animan form.

Out on a Highway, the cars moving were observed by Shotiki. "Looks like these metal beasts have ravaged the climate beasts like the Cubezords might prefer.", he noted. He then pointed his crossbow at the road. "Perhaps I should make them extinct." He fired at a pair of trucks setting them alight, before leaping onto the road. He leapt closer to another vehicle as he fired his crossbow again, destroying it.

In the city, Lenny met up with Marina and Trunks. "So, where were we planning to go?", Trunks asked.

"Well I was thinking…", Lenny began before he noticed the fire in the distance. "That we should go and investigate that."

"You read my mind.", Marina nodded as all three of them ran off, initiating their morphs. "Primal Spirits, Awaken!"

Back at the highway, Shotiki demolished a few more vehicles before leaping onto the nearby hill. "13 targets destroyed. Not a bad record, if I do say so myself."

"Hey.", Lenny called out, alerting Shotiki to turn around and face the three. "Newsflash. Vehicles can't hit back."

"Unless they're tanks.", Trunks added.

"It seems that I've called some of the Cubezords to me.", Shotiki noted. "Give them to me! And I'll spare your life."

"Not a chance, ugly!", Marina declared as the three Rangers ran into battle. Shotiki dodged a hit from Lenny, blocked a punch from Trunks and then threw Marina aside. Trunks once more tried attacking, only to be blocked, and knocked aside. The other two tried grabbing onto Shotiki, but he spun around to knock them off, before continuing to knock them aside.

"You were warned.", Shotiki stated. He then leapt backwards and aimed his weapon. "Let's see how you deal with the greatest hunter in history." He fired three arrows that the Rangers were buffeted by. "I don't give up until I have my prey." He fired an increasingly larger flurry of arrows, which the three were unable to dodge, eventually collapsing and reverting to their human forms.

"This guy doesn't mess around.", Trunks noted. "He'll be tough to beat."

"You're right." Shotiki moved forward and grabbed onto Trunks and Marina. "Which is why I'm not going to give you bipeds a chance to defeat me. I'm going to snap you like twigs now."

It was then that the voice of Keldor rang in his head. "Shotiki, return now. We've detected something abnormal in your vicinity. And if you're affected, it could be bad for your objective."

"I go.", Shotiki stated as he threw his two defeated opponents to the ground. "But I will return to continue my hunt." He then teleported back up to the mothership.

Lenny then pulled himself up. "Are you guys alright?", he asked, noting that their skin was turning pale. "You don't look so good."

"We'll be okay.", Marina insisted, despite clearly shivering. "But I think we might need to get the others in on this."

"I concur.", Trunks nodded as he sneezed. "Preferably quickly."

A few minutes later, both Johnny and Tora appeared on the scene, by which point Marina and Trunks had reverted to their Animen forms, while ambulances were pulling away casualties of Shotiki's attack. "Man, whatever happened to you must be serious, if your DNA cloaks are failing.", Johnny noted.

"I'm sure it's just glitching.", Marina said, through a snout full of mucus. "It'll reassert itself a-a-." She then sneezed all over Tora, while Johnny decided to duck for cover.

"Thanks, now I'm gonna have to take an extra shower tonight." Tora commented. But Marina wasn't listening, instead keeling over and crying out in pain. "Hey, it was just a joke. You didn't have to take it that badly."

"Marina?", Trunks asked. "Are you-?" But then he keeled over, before he and Marina both outstretched their necks and arms, their bodies expanding in size and tearing away their clothes until they both had builds on par with the myths of Amazons and Hercules. Marina's teeth also expanded in size, along with her nose, while Trunks's entire body was covered in fur, as his tusks enlarged and curved.

"Whoah!", Lenny practically yelled as the pair began looking around, before breaking off pieces of a metal fence to wield as clubs, before vanishing. "What happened to them?"

"Not just them.", Tora pointed out, indicating the ambulances, which not only had the patients bursting out hunched over with larger skulls and more hair on their bodies, but the paramedics were undergoing a similar transformation.

"It's like they're all devolving.", Johnny realised. "As if there's some sort of plague."

Onboard the Hunters' ship, the seeming "de-evolution plague" had also been noted. "I don't believe it.", Archris said, his voiced filled with disbelief. "Those primitives are becoming even more primitive."

"Analysis! There seems to be some kind of bacteria contaminating them on contact.", Cuborg answered. "Source seems to be locations where Shotiki made physical contact with surfaces."

"So the bacteria was on his body to begin with.", Keldor noted. "It must've mutated within the coffin and when it made contact with the contemporary DNA of the humans, began to devolve them into something more familiar. I wasn't affected due to my suit filtering foreign contaminants out of my body, Cuborg is a machine, and can't get infected and Archris is bound to his throne and never approached Shotiki to get contaminated. But the question is, why wasn't Ignoblia infected? She made more direct contact with him than any of us."

Ignoblia paused at hearing this, before she managed to come up with an answer. "My species is a very ancient one.", was what she offered. "And we possess an advanced immune system that can neutralise foreign contaminants."

"Regardless, while we may have escaped from contamination, there will be no such respite for the humans on Earth.", Archris stated. "And once they are gone, we can hunt for the Cubezords at our leisure. Oh yes." He then started laughing at his coming success, which the others present all joined in. All except Keldor, who simply departed.

Back on Earth, Johnny, Lenny and Tora were holed up in a small doctor's office, with the latter tied to the surgeon's table. "Is this really necessary?", she asked. "I'm not one of those nanny debtors, or whatever."

"Neanderthals.", Johnny corrected her. "Of that's so hard, you could call them cavemen. And remember, Marina sneezed all over you before she turned into a cave-Megalodon. For all we know, you could be turning into a cave-smilodon."

"That's not as clever a name.", Lenny pointed out. "Though Tora did manage to provide us with a tremendous mucus sample for me to identify the source of our problems is a bacteria. And from the samples whoever works here has, it's different from any other type of bacteria on this planet."

"But if it's a bacteria, then perhaps we can use anti-bacterial cleaning supplies to try and kill it.", Johnny realised. He went over to a janitor's closet to try and see what he could find, only for the lights to suddenly start flickering out. "Oh, this is just great."

"I could go out and get some from a pharmacy.", Lenny suggested. "Granted, I'd be leaving you alone, but it's the best option we have right now."

Johnny only took 5 seconds to think on it. "Alright. But stay morphed while you're out. That's the only reason you're still unaffected. As for me." He went and put on surgeon's gear from the closet, obscuring much of his body. "Now I can't get contaminated."

"I'm glad you're both safe.", Tora noted sarcastically, as her human disguise failed her, indicating that she was beginning to transform. "But what's going to stop me from simply savaging you when I've finished devolving?"

"I'll simply have to be careful.", Johnny answered.

Elsewhere, Grandma Rose was watching the news as events unfolded. "Following the strange monster attack on the Highway earlier today, peopel across the city have started reverting to a primitive state, resulting in a plague of cavemen roaming the city. Even more peculiar is that there seem to be humanoid versions of two prehistoric animals, a megalodon and a mammoth. While law enforcement is struggling to keep the confused cavemen from causing too much damage, one question hangs on everyone's lips. Where are the Power Rangers?"

Rose then switched the radio off, thinking about Johnny and his friends. All of them had gone out there before this madness had started. She hoped that they might work to bring an end to it.

Back in the town, Lenny looked over to his left, getting a good look at the pharmacy, which a crowd of confused looking Neanderthals were walking past. "Alright, I just have to get past them to get inside and see if I can find anything. Should be easy enough." It didn't take long for the horde to disperse, allowing Lenny to make a dash for and open the door. But what he found inside did nothing to give him hope. "Ah, that could be a problem." He saw the room in front of him smashed up by the Cave-Megalodon and the Cave-Mammoth that had been Marina and Trunks. "Now, now, guys. You wouldn't hurt your pal Lenny now, would ya?"

The pair spotted him and the Cave-Megalodon leapt forward to attack. Lenny narrowly jumped out of the way, after which he heard a clanking sound very nearby. He turned his head to see a small plastic bottle, which he grabbed onto as the Cave-Megalodon continued to smash stuff on her way, picking up a piece of the debris along the way. "Let's see what you do with that.", a hooded figure commented on the situation.

Back at the surgery, Tora was now yelling out in pain, just like the other victims. "No, no!", Johnny cried out. "Tora, try and fight it." But it was to no avail, at Tora's hair grew longer and shaggier, while her fur turned light brown and a pair of sabre-teeth grew from her mouth. "Oh dear." Then she broke free of her restraints, as her muscles expanded, tearing through her clothes until she was towering over Johnny, a hungry look in her eyes.

Back in the streets, the Cave-Megalodon was now about to bash Lenny's face in with her piece of debris, forcing him to grab the bottle that had dropped. "Let's hope this is an anti-bacterial agent for this plague." He opened the cork, releasing a small cloud of vapour that the Cave-Megalodon breathed in. She dropped the rock she was holding to the ground, before coughing as her muscles shrank away, and her head returned to normal size, before Marina's human face restored itself. "What happened?", she asked.

"You had a bacterial infection that was revolving you to a primal state.", Lenny explained. "But that gas I sprayed you with seems to have wiped it out. And it seems to be having the same effect on Trunks."

Sure enough, the Cave-Mammoth jerked awake, clutching his head as his fur receded with his muscles and tusks, before Trunk's own human appearance returned. "Wow, that felt weird.", was all he had to say. "Where are we?"

"I'll explain on the way.", Lenny said in response. "Johnny's probably gonna want our help."

But when they returned to the surgery, Johnny had managed to get the Cave-Smilodon under control with the help of someone new. "Who's this guy?", Trunks asked. "Lenny never mentioned anyone else."

"I'm the doctor who works at this place.", the man answered. "I came back to find your friend being attacked by this creature, and I managed to use some of the rejected or expired donor organs to keep it fed."

"Well, you won't have to give her the all-you-can-eat treatment anymore.", Marina said as she presented the bottle with the bactericide. "This stuff will return her to normal."

Johnny was confused by the fact that his friends had managed to find the exact bactericide they needed. "Where did you get this?"

"Someone dropped it near me.", Lenny said in response. "I was just as unsure as you are. But it works, as you can see from these two standing here back to normal. Clothes aside."

"And that's easily fixed.", Marina continued. "But for now, I'm actually missing Tora's usual naive innocence."

"Ok then." Johnny took the bottle and opened it next to the Cave-Smilodon's nose. She began coughing, as her body returned to normal along with her hair, before her DNA cloak became able to conceal her true species. "Am I back to normal?", she asked.

"As normal as you ever were.", Trunks answered her.

Johnny then turned to the doctor. "You won't tell anyone about this, will you?"

"Oh no, if I went around telling people I knew a tiger woman, I'd be the one in a hospital.", the doctor assured him.

"Okay, that's one favour.", Trunks noted as he held up the bottle with the bactericide. "Our second is for you to try and replicate this."

Within a few hours, the Hunters noted something on their map tracking the progress of the plague. Namely, that the contaminated areas were shrinking. "What's happening?", Archris demanded. "Why is the infection rate decreasing?"

"If I had to guess," Ignoblia answered him "the humans somehow discovered a cure for the bacteria, sire."

"How could that be?", Keldor asked, his voice not particularly emotional. "With Earth's technology, it should've taken them years to discover the exact bactericide formula."

"Hypothesis!", Cuborg spoke up. "The Power Rangers escaped contamination due to some factor of their Animan DNA. They were then able to use this property to isolate a cure and distribute it to the city."

Archris growled. "Those Power Rangers are starting to become a thorn in my side. Shotiki!" The eponymous monster was shocked awake by this yell. "I command you to confront those Rangers and leave none of them alive."

"Yes, master.", Shotiki nodded, before being teleported down.

Shotiki soon materialised in a forest near the Highway. "Where are you, Power Rangers?", he growled.

"Right here." The alien was then shot by Tora, Marina and Trunks holding Savage Blasters, with Johnny and Lenny following shortly afterwards. "And don't even think about trying to infect us with your germs again.", Marina stated.

"We've already reproduced the bactericide that can wipe them out.", Trunks continued. "And now we're going to eliminate the source of the infection."

Shotiki laughed at this. "I'd like to see you try." It was then that he had some of the silver coins teleported down to him. "I don't know what these are, but they look valuable."

"I guess we all know what time it is.", Lenny said to Johnny upon seeing the coins.

"Right.", he nodded. "It's Morphin' Time!"

Everyoen took out their Morphers, dialled their respective numbers and closed them, before forming the logo for their team by spinning the top around. "Primal Spirits, Awaken!" They held their Morphers forward, causing their spirit animals to break off and fly forward, before flying back to the one who summoned hem and merging onto their chests to generate their Ranger suits, with their helmets appearing shortly afterwards.

"Souring through the skies, Wild Fury Eagle Ranger!"

"Terror of the Deep Seas, Wild Fury Shark Ranger!"

"Ruler of the Jungle, Wild Fury Lion Ranger!"

"Sage of the Plains, Wild Fury Elephant Ranger!"

"Wanderer of the Mountains, Wild Fury Tiger Ranger!"

"Call of the Wild, Power Rangers Wild Fury!"

Shotiki regarded the shot of all 5 of them with terror. "Uh, look guys. Perhaps I can pay you to go away." He threw the silver coins, which turned into Bacteri. "Oh, that's useful. Get them." The Bacteri thus ran into battle with the Rangers.

Tora tried her treetop attack again, but was stopped by a Bacterus picking her up. "Nice try, boys." She used his grip to do a flip and delivered a scratch to his friends hips.

Trunks meanwhile, was beating down a different Bacterus. "I've just about had enough of single called parasites.", he stated as he leapt up, beat two more back, before grabbing onto a third Bacterus and swinging it around before punching it back.

"If only these guys had a prescribed bactericide.", Lenny joked as he leapt towards a tree, which he used to launch himself to the ground and grab onto the head of a Bacterus, flipping it over before grappling with another.

Marina used her own flipping manoeuvre to take out her Bacteri opponents. "I thought we were the cure for this epidemic."

"Right.", Johnny said as he used his sword to slice through more Bacteri. "When something is making you sick, you need an immune system. And that would be us." The Rangers subsequently finished off their opponents, causing them to explode.

"Man that was a lot of flips.", Shotiki declared as he jumped down, firing his arrows at the Rangers. His shots managed to wound everyone in short order, with only Trunks and Lenny being able to try and fight back before he hit them all at least once. "I was the greatest hunter on my planet.", Shotiki proclaimed as he continued to leap about and fire arrows. Eventually, he hit all 5 with enough force to knock them down. "Because I always got my kill.", he said as he aimed his crossbow at Johnny.

Johnny stood facing him, when Shotiki fired his arrows. But Johnny's Eagle Primal Power gifted him a unique ability when he saw the arrows coming. Namely, that he was able to see their exact trajectory. "There!", he stated as he used the Chain Saber to deflect them towards the trees. "Yes."

"What?", Shotiki growled. "No!"

"Woah, that was incredible.", Lenny commented. "How'd you do that?"

"It must be the Eagle essence within him enhancing his eyesight, letting him see stuff clearly.", Tora suggested, to the shock of everyone. "Hey, I know things."

"I don't care how he did it, he just got lucky.", Shotiki declared as he continued to fire his arrows. But Johnny was still able to deflect all of them near effortlessly.

"Alright, let's do it guys.", Johnny said to the others, who began to undergo their second transformation.

"Primal Mode, Awaken!"

Everyone then executed their own attacks. "Tidal Crash!"

"Lion-tning Slash!"

"Rock Quaker!" These three attacks all hit Shotiki with tremendous force, buffeting him.

Tora was the last to launch her attack. "Freezing Slicer!" The force of this attack was enough to send Shotiki flying, landing next to the river. "Okay then, let's end this."

"Alright.", everyone said as they converted their Savage Sabers into Savage Blasters. "Savage Sabers! Primal Slash!" Once more, the 5 merged into a claw, but this time, Tora formed the middle claw, with Lenny as the index claw, Trunks as the thumb and Johnny Marina to her right and left respectively. The claw then came down and slashed Shotiki, fatally wounding him.

"Looks like the hunter has become the hunter!" And with that, Shotiki was engulfed by an explosion.

As if on cue, Ignoblia teleported down with a gold coin. "What can I say? The old ways may be better, but sometimes it's better to adapt to survive." She inserted the coin into Shotiki, before swiftly departing.

Shotiki swiftly grew to giant size. "Nothing can escape me now!", he declared.

"We'll just see about that.", Johnny said as everyone ran forward. "Cubezords, enlarge!" The 5 Zords then enlarged, with everyone taking their seats.

"So this is my new prey.", Shotiki said upon seeing the Cubezords. "When I'm done with you, Master Archris will have a new rug." He aimed and fired his arrows, causing a rockfall that buried Trunks and Tora with their Zords.

"Hey, we've gotta go back for them.", Lenny insisted.

"We can't.", Marina said in response. "They'll be alright, so long as we defeat this guy."

"Right.", Johnny noted as he led the three in taking out their Morphers, selecting the blue button and dialling the code. "Zords combine!" The three came together once more. "Beast Force Megazord, ready!"

The Megazord stared down Shotiki. "Try burying us when we're your size, ugly.", Lenny taunted him.

"Challenge accepted.", Shotiki said in response, before running forward, dodging the swing of the Megazord's sword , before locking it with his crossbow.

"You think that'll help you?", Marina asked. "Now we're just stuck together."

"Not for long!" Shotiki then fired lasers from his eyes that buffeted the Megazord, enough to send it crashing into the mountain. He then fired arrows to cause a rockfall that buried the Megazord's legs, leaving only the Eagle Zord's portion free.

"We can't move.", Johnny complained as he tried using his legs to manoeuvre the Megazord out of its predicament, to no avail.

"Time to collect another head for my wall.", Shotiki laughed as he pointed his crossbow once more.

Lenny then had an idea. "He may have trapped our legs, but he hasn't trapped the main body. Johnny, you've got to separate."

"Ok.", Johnny nodded. "Disengage!"

Before he could do so, the Elephant and Tiger Zords burst out of the prior rockfall and banged into Shotiki, disorientating him. "You can't get rid of us that easily.", Trunks stated to the alien.

"Right. Because we can simply compress our Zords to increase the size of the room we have and break free."

The Egale then broke free from the Megazord combination. "Alright, let's go for our other combo.", Johnny suggested, as he, Trunks and Tora dialled the code "1-4-5". "Zords, combine!" The Eagle recombined with the Elephant and Tiger. All 5 Rangers then materialised inside the cockpit. "Beast Force Megazord, Jungle Formation. Ready!"

"Oh wow!", Tora rejoiced. "This is the first time we've all been together in this thing."

"If we can't defeat this guy, then it may be our last too.", Marina pointed out.

Shotiki then recovered from the hit he had sustained. "It's time I put an end to this." He tried firing at the Megazord again, but its new formation allowed it to easily dodge all of his hits.

"We can't keep running forever.", Trunks pointed out.

"Right.", Lenny nodded. "We need something to fight back with."

As if on cue, the dormant Cubezord that Johnny had been holding onto flew up, transforming into a more detailed yellowish-brown cube with an exclamation mark on it. "You want to help us beat this guy?", he asked the cube.

"You can understand that thing?", Trunks asked, before he too felt thoughts in his head. "No wait, I can too. It's been gathering energy and modifying itself to have a physical form."

"That's why it scanned the giraffe at the zoo earlier.", Johnny realised. "So it could assimilate into its own shape."

"So it's… a Giraffe Zord right?", Marina asked. "Just so we're clear."

"I believe so.", Tora nodded.

Lenny grabbed the Cubezord. "Good, because we need all the help we can get right now. Go, Giraffe Zord!"

The cube emerged from the Megazord's head, enlarging and transforming into a giraffe-like robot. The newly born Giraffe Zord flew forward and head butted Shotiki in the eye. "Ooh, that's gotta hurt.", Marina could only note.

"You can't just introduce new prey to a hunt midway!", Shotiki complained as he tried to shoot the Giraffe Zord, which proved just as agile as the Megazord. It eventually turned into a cube briefly to deflect one arrow, before turning back to fire a laser from its mouth.

"That could be what we need to win.", Lenny realised. "Giraffe Zord, attach!" The Giraffe Zord folded its head upwards to deploy a handle, before it landed in the Megazord's right hand. "Giraffezooka, ready!"

Johnny's control weapon then changed shape, becoming a gun. "What does that mean?", Tora asked.

"Best guess," Trunks answered her. "Giraffe Zord is supposed to blast that guy."

"Okay then.", Johnny nodded.

"Now hold on, let's be reasonable.", Shotiki said as he tried begging for mercy.

But Johnny had already inserted his Morpher into the weapon. "Giraffe Barrage!" The Giraffezooka then fired a flurry of shots at Shotiki, enough to fatally wound him.

"Congratulations, you've won in this hunt, Rangers.", Shotiki said as he collapsed and died, his body going up in an explosion.

"Top of the food chain!", the Rangers declared as they celebrated their victory.

Back on the Hunters' mothership, Archris was fuming. "You imbeciles! Can none of you find a warrior that can defeat those Power Rangers?"

"Don't blame us.", Ignoblia insisted. "It was Keldor's idea to make use of that guy."

"Query! Keldor is currently absent from the ship.", Cuborg pointed out. "Where did he go?"

On Earth, the same mysterious figure that had provided an unaware Lenny with the cure for the bacteria observed as things returned to normal. "If that plague had been allowed to spread, both humanity and the Rangers would've been readily conquered. But I can't allow that to happen right now. Not until the plan to take down Archris has been finalised."

And speaking of the Rangers, Lenny walked into the thrift shop, where Tora was still hard at work. "Sorry we had to miss lunch?", Tora asked.

"Not at all.", Lenny answered her. "If I'd known you were struggling, I'd have been eager to help you." He then went and picked up an old TV she was struggling to lift, using his innate strength to place it on the shelf. "And I still am."
