Rose emerged from a generated Transportal into her living room. "I have to admit, these portals are a lot smoother than those generated by the cube.", she commented to Jeremy.

"That's nice to hear.", Jeremy assured her. "I don't think the others have been through the cube enough times to give me an accurate picture of how smooth it is, and I know I haven't."

Johnny and Luke then arrived to hug Rose. "Grandma. Glad to see you made it back.", Johnny said.

"How was Cubalia?", Luke asked. "I've only got second hand accounts from the others as to its quality."

"It certainly looked awe-inspiring.", Rose answered him. "Even if it wasn't very colourful with the decor."

"Most of the Animen are descended from Earth animals.", Jeremy pointed out. "Meaning that there are very few of us that aren't colourblind. Marina and myself are two of them."

"Speaking of scenery, you may notice some changes to the decor.", Johnny then indicated the Zord enclosure, particaurly the fact there was now a giant Whale with the others. "We managed to find the Whale Zord and team up with it."

"And you're just in time for some more major upheavals.", Luke said, as he turned on the news, which was covering the election.

"And currently, the polls for incumbent Mayor Jun'ichi Komura and challenging candidate Florence Primavera are neck and neck. With both occupying 50% of the voters' support, one of them will have to do something really amazing to consolidate their victory and become Savannah City's next mayor."

Elsewhere, Ignoblia was watching this report, with Keldor standing nearby. "Well, what's your grand scheme to prevent Komura from finishing his term?", Keldor asked.

"I don't know." Ignoblia growled. "For everything I could have my publicity team put out, Komura could have his own give out counterfactual evidence."

Keldor was intrigued by this comment. "You managed to find some humans to spread your propaganda? Then what do you need me here for?"

"Oh I didn't exactly find humans.", Ignoblia said in response. "Daisy! Violet! Petunia!" Three women in business suits entered the room, before removing DNA cloaks to reveal a trio of Bacteri - wearing skirts. "I made a little genetic modifications to these three, to make them more adept at the political theatre."

"And yet, they can't help you deal with Komura.", Keldor surmised. "He's so shifty and devious, that it would take a miracle for his personality to do a 180 and concede the election."

Ignoblia gasped. "That's it.", she stated. "If Komura won't change his mind on his own, then we'll have to have someone change it for him."

Down on Earth, Johnny was in the process of showing some practice ballots to the four Animen. "Alright, I set you guys up to vote. So all you need to do is take your green pens and use them to tick the box for the candidate of your choice.", he finished explaining.

"This pen?", all 4 asked as they each held up a pen. Whereas Marina and Tora were both holding up the correct coloured pen, Johnny could guess that the latter was less due to intelligence, and more due to almost literal blind luck. He went over to the other two to correct them nonetheless. "Now then, do you guys have last names or something? Because your first names alone won't suffice."

"Of course we do.", Marina assured him. "We've just never had a reason to use them with you until now. But we did put them on our application forms. I'm Marina Clearwater."

The others then proceeded to recite heir own surnames. "Lenny Leonidas."

"Trunks Graystark."

"Tora Panthera."

"Jeremy Ironbeak." The others turned around to react to his entrance. "Though in my case, it doesn't really matter, since I'm not participating in the election."

"Well, it's good that we're all on a full name basis now.", Tora commented. "But why did you come in, Jeremy, if you're not voting?"

"Because I've been working on a new alert system that should tell us when a Hunter's attacking.", Jeremy said in response. "I need you guys to help test…" He was interrupted as an alarm sound started blaring, with Marina clutching her ears. "Odd, it wasn't supposed to go off yet."

"Then that means there's probably a real Hunter out there right now.", Trunks realised as he went over to the laptop. He brought up the feed from the security cameras in the city, revealing that there was indeed a monster attack in progress. "He's on 32nd Street."

"Well let's not just stand here.", Jeremy called out. "Move!" He then turned the alarm off. "Sorry. But really, you should go."

Luke then staggered into the room. "What was that noise?", he asked.

"Never mind that now.", Johnny answered him. "We have a situation."

One teleportation later, the Rangers were on 32nd Street. There they saw a mustard yellow creature in a top hat, with a smiley face, gangly arms that seemed to have no muscle or fat and boots with no feet. He was in the process of flashing people with a light from his eyes when he noticed the six. "Ah, so the Power Rangers have finally appeared on the scene.", he announced in a high pitched voice.

"And you would be?", Lenny asked.

"You can just call me 'Jester'.", the creature answered. "But what isn't a joke is that I'll be defeating all of you."

"Good luck with that.", Johnny retorted as everyone took their Morphers out. "It's Morphin' Time!"

"Predator/Primal Spirits, Awaken!" In a flash, the 6 were morphed into their Ranger forms.

Lenny and Marina then ran forward. "Why don't you have a taste of my true power?", Jester asked as he blasted the pair with his lasers.

The two Rangers were hit, with Johnny noting that the pair seemed to be unharmed by the shots. "Guys, are you okay?"

As he ran forward, Marina raised her head, revealing that she now had red eyes on her visor. "What's it to you, birdbrain?", she snapped. "Why are you calling the shots when I'm a much better and more experienced leader?"

Lenny, his eyes also turned red, began pointing fingers. "Butt out, fishface. I'm not letting a watery freak boss me around."

"What happened to you?", Johnny asked as he and Tora went over to the pair.

"They're acting entirely off.", Tora realised.

"Two more chumps for the act.", Jester stated as he blasted Johnny and Tora as well, giving them the red eyes.

"I'm the Earth native here.", Johnny insisted as he approached Marina and grabbed her by the neck. "You freaks couldn't get by without me."

"She thinks she's so cool because she works with kids, but let me tell you, that ruckus is annoying on a good day.", Tora growled. She then pointed to Johnny. "Which wouldn't be an issue if he hadn't made us go out and get these jobs."

"You'd prefer to just crash on my couch, you freeloader?", Johnny asked.

But he was pushed back by Marina. "Oh, so the little kitty's decided to get some bite, has she?" She pointed her finger at Tora's helmet. "Perhaps we should put you to sleep."

Tora slapped the finger away. "I eat people like you for breakfast." The two then pushed Johnny aside when he attempted to intercede. "Do you know how annoying it was to know that you outranked me?"

The three then started pointing fingers, with Lenny looking on. "Wow, that looks fun.", he commented.

"Why are they doing this?", Trunks asked as he stepped forward.

"That would be my doing." A new voice declared. Jester then turned around to reveal a more demonic face, on a dark blue body with prominent paws at the bottom of his legs. He then grew a set of muscular arms from his shoulders. "My friend Jester may use the power to change people's minds, but the power gets provided by me, Split."

"You're saying you're screwing with our personalities?", Lenny asked. "Not cool." He then grabbed onto Trunks. "Besides, you can't make me decide that Old Big Nose here is my enemy by changing my mind."

"I'd prefer it if you hadn't used the insult, but…", Trunks whispered.

Luke then leapt forward and tried stopping the fight between Johnny and the girls. "That Split Jester guy is our enemy. You need to stop fighting each other and start fighting him."

"Butt out.", Johnny hissed as he pushed Luke back.

"Man, that's some potent personality swappage.", Lenny noted.

"Indeed.", Trunks nodded. "Turning brother against brother."

Luke continued to push his way in. "This isn't you. You're under his control."

But he ended up being grabbed by Marina by the head. "Don't try and deny it. We've seen you treat this guy better than us because he's a human like you."

"Well he is my brother.", Johnny pointed out. "It's not my job he's taking his sweet time rebuilding his life, getting a job and rekindling his old relationships."

Tora then butted in. "I can't believe we can even be in the same room as that guy. He killed three of our own kind just by standing where they were supposed to be teleported." Luke seemed taken aback to hear this.

"Hey, at least it wasn't me who got stuck like that for 10 years.", Johnny retorted. "Talking to you Animen intermittently is annoying. Imagine having their voices stuck in my head."

Luke was once more taken aback. "This isn't them.", he stated. "They've just been reversed. All I've got to do is get that bad guy to change them back."

"You're welcome to try!", Split announced, having moved so far away that everyone had to turn around just to see where he was standing. "But I'll let you know that you've only interrupted a rehearsal for the real show." He then teleported out.

Luke and Trunks then looked to see that everyone he had zapped before them were now in the middle of doing something that was definitely wrong. A woman abandoned her baby in its stroller, a police officer ran out of a bank with a sack of loot, with a teller yelling "He robbed the bank!", and a firefighter was throwing a lit lighter onto a building. "This is bad.", Luke noted.

"Indeed.", Trunks nodded. "If we don't stop the Split Jester, he could throw the whole city into anarchy."

Up on the Arrowhead, Split Jester's antics were being observed on the bridge. "Who is this newcomer?", Archris asked. "I gave no permission for an attack to be launched."

"Could he be one of Mantack's crew?", Cuborg suggested.

"No, we would've known about him ahead of time.", Archris countered.

Keldor then chose that moment to make his entrance. "Ah, I see you've already found out about my latest creation, Lord Archris."

Archris was intrigued. "This is your doing, Keldor?", he asked.

"Of course.", Keldor nodded. "I felt that his personality flipping abilities could be useful in turning the Power Rangers from a band of do-gooders to people with attitude. Evidently, the results aren't as great as I anticipated…"

"On the Rangers, no.", Archris nodded. "But I feel that this 'Split Jester' may have potential."

Down on Earth, Jeremy had helped Lenny, Trunks and Luke tie the other three up. "Let's me go!", Marina insisted.

"Not until you're back to normal.", Trunks informed her. "Jeremy, can you diagnose anything?"

"As far as I can tell, there's been no foreign elements introduced into their bodies.", was his answer. "It seems to be a standard magic spell that reverses people's morality."

"Then how come I wasn't affected?", Lenny asked.

"Well your morality is being secretly self-serving.", Luke pointed out. "So it makes sense that you'd become outwardly helpful."

"Whoop de doo.", Tora snarked. "So if three of you losers weren't blasted by the spell, then why did you feel the need to tie us up?"

"Because even if you are evil right now, we don't want to hurt you.", was Luke's answer. He then moved to turn on the TV. "Let's see if anything's going on in the news."

"And today, Mayor Komura is travelling to a conference on environmental management, wherein he hopes to give his views on the subject and how he intends to resolve it should he get re-elected."

At the event in question, Ignoblia, her aides and Jester were looking on. "Here he comes, preparing to spout whatever lies he intends to use to stay in power.", Petunia commented bitterly.

"And the people who still support him will fall for it hook, line and sinker.", Daisy added.

"But thankfully, our mistress has prepared for that.", Violet smiled. "He's going to torpedo any chances of getting re-elected at this conference. And with the deputy mayor being so spineless…"

"I'll be elected unopposed.", Ignoblia smiled. "Now then Jester, Mayor Komura is about to walk in, so assume your position."

"Right.", Jester nodded as he moved closer to the door, hiding behind a tree so he couldn't be seen. When the Mayor walked by, Jester fired the shot, hitting his target and making him stagger, before Keldor appeared in front of him. "Whoah, boss. You scared me."

"If you think I'm terrifying, then wait until you meet Archris.", Keldor said in response. "He'd like to check you out in person." He grabbed onto Jester and teleported out.

Ignoblia's entourage had observed this as well. "Why did Keldor just take away the Split Jester?", Daisy asked.

"Who cares?", was Ignoblia's reply. "He succeeded in his mission. We just need to wait to see the results."

And so a few moments later, Mayor Komura stepped up to the podium, with what he said next shocking the entire viewing audience. "Ladies and gentlemen, I promised to share some lies about how I'd fixed a problem that I honestly never cared about. In fact, every time I gave a stance on your issues, I never previously cared about them. They were your problems, not mine. I squandered city funds on building large and extravagant buildings that will likely fall apart long before I die of old age. To that end, I am pulling out of your mayoral elections. This city deserves a leader who will be entirely honest with you about their intentions, and I am sure my opponent Florence Primavera may just be that candidate."

Back at the zoo house, Trunks and Luke watched as the man walked away. "What just happened?", Johnny snapped.

"I think… the Mayor got blasted by the Split Jester and was made to resign.", Luke answered. "We have to figure out a counter spell quickly."

Elsewhere, Jester had been taken to meet Archris. "So, you have the power to invert personalities."

"Well, only when I'm like this.", Jester explained, before he transformed into Split. "In this form, I can only flip things around with no specific targets."

"Oh really?", Cuborg asked as he teleported in a sign with an arrow pointing left on it. "Let's see what you can do to this sign. Not your alter ego. You."

Split growled before zapping the sign, causing the arrow to spin 180 degrees to point the other way. "Hey, that could cause some major chaos if I used it on enough signs."

"This was your first test.", Keldor informed him. "Now try using your powers on myself and Archris at the same time."

"You got it." Split then zapped the indicated two, causing them to swap positions. "Wow, I really could cause some major chaos like this."

"And the Rangers will be unable to counter you, because you'll be countering them.", Archris stated, as he knocked Keldor off his throne before sitting down. "Now go."

At the zoo-house, Jeremy's computer search had turned up no results, and he slammed his fist against the desk in frustration. "It's no good. There's just no good sources on how to undo a magic brainwashing spell. Not even from any of the Legendary Rangers."

"That's too bad." Jeremy soon felt Tora's claws placed against his neck. "Because any cure would be helpful to you right now, as I'm about to cut you."

In the next room, Marina and Johnny were confronting Trunks and Luke. "How did you guys get out?", Luke asked.

"You may be good at knots.", Marina answered. "But Tora is even better at cutting through things."

Lenny then tried to intervene. "Now, let's not be hasty."

"Butt out.", Johnny snapped at him, before generating his Chain Saber. "This is a matter between brothers."

As he began to approach Luke, the Whale Zord observed the events unfolding, and sprayed a green mist into the air, which soon encompassed the entire facility. Everyone who had been hit by Jester beforehand collapsed, expelling red light from their bodies. "Of course.", Trunks realised. "The whale used its creation powers to create an agent that counters the brainwashing spell."

The 4 then pulled themselves up. "Urgh, what happened?", Lenny asked. "My head is sore."

"Basically, you turned evil, the Whale turned you back.", Luke surmised. "All that's left is to find and defeat the monster."

As if on cue, the alarm sounded, with Jeremy and Tora stumbling in. "He's at the business centre.", Jeremy stated. "Get over there."

At the business centre, Split sent a group of people running. "And reverse." He used his powers to change the direction they were running in, causing them to head towards him. "And now, kaboom!" He sent out an explosion from his hand to send the group reeling. "Now to move onto bigger panic."

"Savage/Bait Blast!" Split was then knocked back by the arrival of the 6 Rangers, all of whom were pointing their weapons at him.

"It can't be.", Split cried out. "How did you break free of my mind control?"

"We aren't so easy for you to reprogram.", Johnny stated.

"And this time, we're not gonna let you cause mayhem and misery.", Luke said as he took out his Hunter Morpher. "Predator Spirits, Awaken!"

The 4 Animen and Johnny then took out their Primal Morphers. "Primal Spirits, Awaken!"

After everyone had finished morphing, Luke was the first to leap in, throwing punches at Split, followed by a kick and some more thrusts to his chest. "Time for me to pull your strings, you creepy puppet." He proceeded to head but Split, sending him rolling into a nearby wall.

From nearby, Ignoblia, now back to normal, watched everything. "So that's where my Split Jester was sent to. "Let's see what he can do."

"Let's get in there,", Johnny decided, as everyone drew their swords and ran into battle. Soon enough, a melee began, wih Johnny, Marina and Lenny all hitting Split with their Chain and Primal Sabers.

From nearby, Trunks assembled the weapon into its alternate formation. "Primal Blaster!"

But all of his shots were expertly dodged by Split. "You'll have to do better than that.", he laughed as he landed on his feet once more. He soon saw Johnny come in to attack from above. "Time I showed you what I can really do!"

He zapped Johnny and turned him around, so that the Chain Saber's strike only met the pavement. "What?"

"Made you look!" Split then proceeded to beat up Johnny, before tossing him aside.

"Why you!", Marina called out as she, Tora and Lenny leapt in to continue slashing at Split.

Lenny was closest, so Split zapped him, causing him to turn around and slash the two girls. "What the-?"

"Why thank you!", Split laughed as he spun Lenny around again to claw at his face, before knocking him down. "You see, I said my friend Jester could invert personalities. Well it turns out, that my powers can invert anything."

"In that case, try facing all of us at once.", Luke stated, before proceeding to charge in.

"I have a better idea.", Trunks said as he stopped Luke by putting his hand on the latter's shoulder. He then grabbed onto Luke's arms and wrapped them beneath his own.

"Are you fools trying to make me laugh?", Split asked, barely holding laughter in.

"No.", Trunks answered as he charged in, using Luke as a battering ram to knock the Hunter back.

"I get it.", Luke realised as he lifted Trunks up so the latter could launch his own kick to Split. "This way, his inverse strategy won't work."

"Right.", Trunks nodded as he had Luke deliver another kick, before Trunks broke the pairing to deliver a final kick to Split.

"That it!", Johnny realised, before turning to Lenny. "Double team?"

"You know it.", Lenny said with a thumbs up, before they ran towards each other. Johnny crouched down so that Lenny could roll over him, before the two stood back to back.

"Let's do this, Tora.", Marina suggested.

"Right.", Tora responded as the two also charged in back to back.

Split soon found himself wedged between kicks from Trunks and Luke, slashes from the girls and more kicks from Johnny and Lenny. All three then delivered simultaneous kicks, before unleashing their combination attacks with their Sabers. "Arctic Sea Strike!"

"Africa Attack!"

"Wild Double Kick!" This attack from Trunks and Luke sent Split rolling once again.

"Johnny.", Trunks spoke up. "Let's try hitting him with the Whale Morpher's attack."

"Right.", Johnny nodded as he summoned the Whale Hyper Morpher and changed forms. "Primal Evolution!" After this change was complete, Johnny pumped the Morpher three times as he aimed at the recovering Split. "Super Primal Blow!" He launched a beam of energy at Split which bounded upwards, before crashing down onto the Hunter, killing him.

Ignoblia then stepped forward. "Looks like you've been impeached.", she commented as she inserted the growth coin into his shoulder. "But I can get you back into office."

Split was soon revived as a giant. "4 more kilometres!", he announced.

Everyone stood there in confusion. "Aren't Ignoblia's lines generally more related to the monster's gimmick?", Tora asked.

"Well politicians can be two-faced.", Lenny suggested.

"Never mind that now.", Luke stated as he handed the Hunter Morpher to Trunks. "Can I trust you to handle the Predator Megazord, while I help Johnny pilot the Whale?"

Trunks was shocked momentarily, but quickly took the other Morpher, feeling a slight shock. "I won't let you down." He then pressed the button three times and spun it around to the three animals face. "Predator Megazord, Super Formation!"

Johnny reverted the Whale Morpher to the Golden Cube and pumped the handle before firing. "Whale Zord, Battle Mode!"

The two Megazords formed quickly, with Luke being equipped with the Whale Primal Burst Armour. "So it's two against one.", Split asked. "But now I'm prepared for your anti-flipping combo."

He then blasted both Megazords, forcing them to spin around endlessly. "Can't… stay… focused…", Trunks wheezed.

"There… might be a chance.", Luke called out.

"Right.", Johnny nodded.

"There is no hope.", Split laughed. "Give up."

Johnny then pressed the trigger on his Whale Morpher, causing the Whale Zord to spray water that slowed it down. "Don't bet on it.", he declared defiantly.

"The heck?", Split growled as he saw his plan undone so easily.

"It worked!", Marina blurted out as she and the others struggled to regain control. "Johnny, do us now."

"Right.", Johnny nodded as he had the Whale Zord spray the Predator Megazord to stop it.

"Thanks.", Trunks wheezed as he caught his breath. "Now we can do some fly-swatting." The Predator then moved in and began punching at Split with its two arms. "Time to end this." He took out his Wild Morpher and Luke's Hunter Morpher, combining both with the control weapon. "Predator/Prey Extinction!"

Johnny then returned the Whale Morpher to its gun mode, as Luke inserted the Primordial Spear. "Primordial Spear!"

"This isn't good.", Split noted as he looked at the situation, deciding to accept defeat.

"Super Thrust!" At the same time the Predator Megazord fired its shot, the Whale Zord initiated its attack.

"There's two parts to everything in life.", Split declared a she turned back into Jester momentarily. "Winners and losers." With that said, the Split Jester exploded for good.

"Top of the food chain.", the 6 Rangers declared as their two Megazords stood triumphant.

A few days later, the news reported on the results of the election. "With Mayor Komura dropping out of the election race, and his replacement Koichi Utsunomiya not having enough time to establish any policies of his own, Independent candidate Florence Primavera wins the election with a lead of 80%, and will become the new Mayor of Savannah City starting in two months time. Upon her victory, the Mayor-Elect Primavera had this to say.

"I hope to bring about a greener future for you, the electorate. A world in which we can see a decrease in crime, pollution, violence and homelessness. I intend to reveal my entire manifesto at my inaugural speech, so you can look forward to that."

"Well that's that then.", Lenny commented. "Democracy has come and gone, and we've got a new leader elected for the people in the city."

Trunks then took out the 'vote' badge he had taken to wearing. "What do I do with this now that Flo's won the election?"

"Well you could keep it as a souvenir for a few years and then sell it to a collector for a hefty price?", Tora suggested, to everyone's confusion. "Hey. I sometimes ask Mrs. Mack what she does with stuff that can't really be that useful."

"No, I think I'll just get rid of it.", Trunks sighed as he threw the badge away.

Elsewhere, Keldor heard the slam of a lid. "Well, I suppose it's time I found a new way to spy on the Rangers.", he decided. "One that'll need a little help."
