*Chirp-chirp* *Burble-burble* *Creak-groan*.
The sound of the crickets and the river were, while not unusual to the cloaked four-legged individual, the creaks and groans of the cart he was pulling were, and he was especially not used to pulling things attached to his back, but he was trying to make do.
*Burble-burble-burble*
"Darn it, the sound of the river is not good for my bladder," he whispered to himself before turning to the cart, his hood falling to reveal a raven haired equine face covered in auburn fur paired with glacier blue eyes and a singular horn coming from the center of his forehead, "Hey Dani, can you watch the cart while I go get some privacy?"
A similar, but younger and slightly more effeminate looking, equine face popped out from underneath the earth brown tarp atop the cart.
"Sure Danny, be safe out there, I heard that there might be a chimera in these woods before we left the last town," Dani stated.
As to why these apparent siblings had such similar sounding names, simple. They weren't actually siblings, in the traditional sense that is, the younger was a clone of the elder.
Yes, a clone, as for why Dani was a girl instead of a boy?
Neither Danny nor Dani knew why exactly, and frankly neither of them cared as the only exact way to know was to ask the fruitloop that made Dani, and last anyone saw of him, was him being blasted into space past the Asteroid belt, and likely the Kuiper belt with how fast the fruitloop was going, when Danny's dad abandoned him for being a completely evil nutcase.
"Don't worry, with our abilities most peo- er ponies or anything in this universe won't be able to literally touch us," Danny responded before his horn glowed the same blue as his eyes and he was unlatched from the cart.
Why was Danny talking like he and Dani were from a different universe?
Simple, he and Dani were, and the reason as to why he and Dani were in this world instead of their world was simple. Protection.
You see the aforementioned fruitloop (by accident) caused an asteroid that was orbiting the gas giant Jupiter to go careening towards the earth, which would have completely destroyed the planet, if it were not for the hard work of Danny convincing at least twenty-three point two-eighths buttloads of ghosts to make the Earth intangible that everyone was saved.
Yes, ghosts were real in Danny's and Dani's universe, as for how Danny convinced the ghosts to help? Well, he went to the Ghost Zone, an alternate dimension that was closely tied to their universe, and after a scuffle with his enemies where he regained the ability to turn into a ghost and all his other ghostly abilities (and how he got them in the first place is a story in of itself for a different time), he beat them back and was able to convince them of his plan to use the energy of every single ghost to turn the earth intangible to save everyone in both dimensions.
Why would the earth being destroyed lead to the destruction of both dimensions? Well, the Earth was one of several points in Danny's and Dani's universe that were called a 'Nexus point', areas where if it was destroyed would cause the Ghost Zone or the Mortal Realm to be destroyed (depending on the location of the destroyed Nexus Point), and with how closely linked the two dimensions were, the other would be destroyed as well, causing an untold amount of death and destruction.
As for why Danny didn't make the asteroid intangible instead of the Earth, well the fruitloop tried that, but it didn't work out so well as the asteroid was made out of Ecto-Ranium, a rare element from Outerspace that caused ghosts and half-ghosts to not only experience great pain, but to lose the ability to use their powers (temporarily) on contact.
After Danny and the ghosts finished making the Earth intangible for long enough that the asteroid was able to pass through the Earth, saving both dimensions, Danny, who at this point was completely exhausted, transformed back into his human-self at the prompting of his parents and in front of cameras that were broadcasting the event across the planet, revealing his identity to everyone.
After the incident (which most places were calling either The Disasteroid Incident or The Phantom Planet Incident) literally almost everyone took at least a week off to celebrate being alive.
Almost everyone.
The only ones who didn't were those that were part of an organization called The Guys in White, an organization that was dedicated to completely eradicating all supernatural beings, dead or alive with extreme prejudice, and during that week they prepared for a war.
After that week was up the Guys in White attacked the home of Danny and his family, nearly killing Danny's older sister Jazz, forcing Danny's father Jack to destroy the artificial ghost portal he and Danny's mother Maddie built so they wouldn't destroy the Ghost Zone and subsequently the Earth, and causing Maddie to be rendered unconscious in the attack.
After that, the entire Earth declared war on the Guys in White, and while Danny, his family, friends, and everyone who lived in Amity Park (Danny's hometown) were able to miraculously escape alive, Danny had to be protected, and that is where one of Danny's few ghostly allies came in to help, Clockwork.
Clockwork was a ghost that had complete control over time, and he told Danny that he was safest in another world until the war with the Guys in White was over, which thanks to the various actions that could possibly be taken, might last as long as twenty years, or as little as three years, though clockwork would do everything he can to make sure that the war ended as quickly as possible.
After telling his friends and family, and assuring his mom and dad that Clockwork was a friend, Clockwork brought Dani over, which Danny explained as best he could with what little time he had left before being taken over to this new world he and Dani were in.
Clockwork had explained this new world that Danny and Dani were being brought to, as well as give them general knowledge on the history of it, before one of Clockworks friends came in to take them, as well as (painlessly) transform them so that they wouldn't look out of place.
Luckily Clockwork's friend, a rather tall and beautiful auburn-haired woman who on the way transformed into a winged unicorn she said was called an alicorn, provided them with cloaks that were enchanted to protect them from the worse of any weather they would come across, a cart made out of ebony for the school stuff both of them needed from their world as well as other books Danny and Dani would like with a tarp for the cart with both of them being enchanted for protection against the elements as well, proper paperwork that said they lived in that world, a two-Pony tent with the same enchantment as the cloaks, two sleeping bags, a sturdy map, knowledge on how to use some of the spells so that they wouldn't be out of place, and finally enough money to buy their own place once they reached their destination, a town called Ponyville, though Clockwork's friend told them that they had to be at Ponyville at least a month before a holiday called the Summer Sun Celebration.
As for why they weren't dropped off at Ponyville in the first place? Clockwork's friend wanted them to take the scenic route and enjoy their time before they left that world.
"Even after being in this world for about two weeks, I'm still not used to walking on all fours," Danny sighed, "Oh well, at least Sam would be happy about me being a facultative (1) herbivore for a while."
Danny frowned a bit, Sam was a sore subject for him, the day after he helped to save the Earth, she confessed her feelings for him. Danny, however, just didn't feel the same way, sure Sam was a good friend and was pretty cute, but he was looking for someone less volatile when it came to being in a romantic relationship. Sam didn't take the rejection well, but he stuck to his guns.
"At least my tastebuds changed with the transformation, so the food tastes alright at least," he continued, going deeper into the forest.

While Danny was off doing... business, Dani was busy balancing herself on one hoof while reading a fantasy book about a kid finding out he was a demigod and going on a quest to prove his innocence to the king of the gods.
"Well, well, well, look at what we have here," a rather deep and gravelly voice came.
Looking up Dani saw a quadrupedal creature walking right up to her, one that had the front half of a tiger, the back half of a goat, two heads on its upper body between the shoulder blades, one that looked like a saber-toothed tiger and one goat, with the upper half of a snake's body acting as a tail.
"Looks like a little filly has lost her way and is all alone," the goat head bleated.
"Don't worry, we'll keep you nice and sssssafe," the snake head hissed.
"IN OUR STOMACH!" the saber-toothed tiger head roared, before the chimera lunged towards Dani.
Dani, however, responded with a backflip kick to one of its chins, sending the chimera spinning end over end like a Beyblade into the river.
With a flash of bright light, Dani changed, the fur of her coat becoming as black as a starless night, hair and tail becoming as white as snow, with her eyes becoming a bright glowing green. Though the biggest change was the pair of wings she now sported alongside her horn.
The chimera stood up, though judging by the way it was swaying and the looks of all three of its faces, it was thoroughly rattled despite only being hit on one of its chins once.
With her horn glowing as green as her eyes the chimera was blasted towards an earthen wall on the other side of the river, where it was promptly stuck from the ectoplasm surrounding it.
With a flash of light Dani changed back.
"Dani, are you okay?" Danny asked, having finished and seen the bright flash.
"Yeah Danny, just had a fight with the chimera, though it was a short one," she answered, pointing to the other side of the river.
Looking at the chimera Danny sighed, "Good job defending yourself, but I told you that we are trying to keep a low profile, if you have to restrain something, to do so with one of the restraining spells we were taught instead of with ectoplasm, you use the all-purpose cleaning spell and I'll cast the strongest restraining spell I know."
Huffing Dani did what he told her, with the chimera now not being restrained by ectoplasm, but instead by multiple steel chains over each of its limbs, necks, chest, and tail.
"That should keep it held in place for a while, come on, we're almost to Ponyville, just another hour or two then we'll report the chimera, and we'll buy a house, and get you into school," Danny told her, causing her to groan.
"Now none of that, school days here aren't as long as in our world, at the latest you'll be out by noon," he told her.
"You're just saying that because you'll be out of school because in this world fourteen is the age of adulthood (2)," Dani snarked at him, jogging backwards next to him.
Horn glowing the same color as his eyes, Danny lifted Dani back into the cart, "No I'm not, and besides, this way you can make some new friends."
"Not like we'll be able to come back and forth to see them though," Dani said morosely.
"You don't know that besides, friends reside in your heart, so they're not very far from you despite the physical distance," Danny responded.
"Either you've been playing too much Kingdom Hearts, or this world is starting to get to you," Dani accused.
"More of the former, but with how peaceful this world is I wouldn't doubt if we spent our whole stay here with no major conflicts," Danny chuckled.
Danny actually liked how peaceful this world was, it was so peaceful that he was actually able to get a full night's sleep each time he went to bed, even when he and Dani camped out thanks to their ability to make clones to keep an eye out while they slept.
"Now take a nap until we get there, please, you stayed up too late last night reading some of those books," Danny requested.
With a yawn Dani nodded and went back underneath the tarp.
(Two hours later)
"Dani, we're here, Ponyville, and a whole month-and-a-half before the Summer Sun Celebration too," Danny said, waking her up.
"Huh, looks kind of suburban," Dani spoke, getting out from underneath the tarp.
Looking around, Danny couldn't find any signs suggesting one of the buildings around him was the mayoral office, so he got the attention of a nearby pony for help.
"Excuse me, but can you help me find the mayoral office? I'm new in town and would like to buy a home," Danny requested from a stallion.
Turning around, the stallion with light tan fur, black hair, and bright blue eyes, wearing a blue and white stand-alone collar with a red tie that had a golden dollar symbol on it, and a mark on his flank that was three bags of money grouped together.
"Just take this street down to the end then make a left, then take the second right and you should see it at the end of that street," the stallion told Danny.
"Thanks Mr.?" Danny tried to get his name.
"Rich, Filthy Rich, but please call me Rich or Mr. Rich," the now named Mr. Rich told Danny.
"I will, the names Danny Fenton, and this is my little sister, Dani with one n and an i," Danny introduced himself and his clone.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, but I got to get a business meeting with some potential investors, hope you enjoy your time in Ponyville," Mr. Rich smiled.
"We will, thanks," Danny said back to him.
*Gurgle-gurgle*
The sound of Dani's stomach got Danny's attention, causing Dani to blush.
"Here, you go get yourself something to eat, I'll handle getting the house, beds, furniture, and household supplies, then get myself something," Danny chuckled, floating a couple of gold coins, called bits, her way.
Before going on his though, Danny saw a mare with bubblegum pink fur with a mane (that reminded him of cotton candy from how poofy it was)just as pink, baby blue eyes, and a mark on her flank that looked like two blue balloons with a yellow one in the middle quickly round a corner after getting a look at him.
"Hmm, weird, but she just might be a little shy," Danny shrugged, before hearing what sounded like a miniature plane above him.
Looking up he saw a cyan Pegasus with messy rainbow-colored hair, and magenta eyes kicking some clouds apart and moving others around with her hooves.
It never ceased to amaze him that the residents of this world could interact on such a level, in fact, he believed that, even though this planet didn't really have much technologically wise, they were much closer to being a type one civilization on the Kardashev scale than his and Dani's world. It also reminded him of the fact that the race that was most abundant in this world were the Ponies, with three main separate sub-races called Unicorns, Pegasi, and the Earth Ponies, with the Unicorns having the ability to cast spells through their horns, Pegasi being able to control the weather through their wings and hooves, and the Earth Ponies using magic through their hooves to increase their strength and to help grow food or maintain the land.
(Two Hour Later)
"Okay Dani, here we are, we just ne-," Danny, having sold the cart and tarp for extra money when he went shopping for household products, began before stopping and putting an ear to the door.
"What is it?" Dani asked.
"Thought I heard somepony, but I don't think anypo-," Danny continued, opening the door, before being interrupted.
"SURPRISE!" shouted all the ponies that were in his and Dani's new house, scaring the half-life out of both.
Thankfully, the two of them restrained from getting violent from what was apparently a combination surprise party welcoming them to Ponyville, and a housewarming party.
Seeing the friendly and smiling faces Danny couldn't help but ask, "what are you all doing in here, and more importantly, how did you get in our house?"
"That's a silly question, we're here to welcome you all to Ponyville, and to help you break in your new house, though I suggest getting some furniture, kind of empty in here," the pink mare he saw before said, with the word empty somehow echoing a few times.
"Two things, one I'm having some furniture delivered, they'll be here in an hour or so, two how did that word echo?" Danny stated/asked.
The cyan Pegasus from earlier put a foreleg around his neck, "Don't worry about it, everyone in Ponyville has learned that when it comes to Pinkie, that it's best not to question it, by the way, the name's Rainbow Dash," the now named Rainbow Dash introduced herself.

Well, that is the end of this fic/challenge, sorry for the abrupt end, but I couldn't figure out a way to continue this further, now without a further ado the rules and options for this challenge.
Rule 1: do not pair Danny with Sam or any other girl from DP
Rule 2: Dani needs to be a part of the story in some way, I think having her hang around the CMC should be a good starting point, but how is all up to you.
Rule 3: Do not have Danny be betrayed by his friends and family because of the fact he is either a Half-Ghost, or the events of The Ultimate Enemy.
Rule 4: Have Danny be paired with either the one of Mane 6, Celestia, Luna, or any other non-canonically married pony, as long as they're female, nothing against gay pairings, but I do NOT want a repeat of the MLP and HP crossover community. If you want to know what the issue is, a lot of the stories contain MPreg.
Rule 5: Danny and Dani have access to their ghost powers but turn into Alicorns when they go ghost.
Rule 6: While Equestria is for the most part peaceful, have Danny be leery about using his ghostly abilities, maybe not have them revealed to the others until the equivalent of season 4 or 5, if only for the fact he does not want the attention for potential scientific studies, or maybe have him be doing vigilante work in his Alicorn/Ghost form and there be people either dismissing him as an Alicorn, or trying to find him because a male Alicorn is a sensation and Celestia wants to talk to him to figure out how he became an Alicorn without there being a huge influx of magical energy, but if you want Danny's ability to become a Ghost/Alicorn known to everyone from the show's proper start, make him do an interview with a full explanation as to the why's and how's.
Rule 7: Have Danny's cutie mark be related to the stars, or celestial objects in some way in his normal pony form, but they can't be darkened or blotted out or whatever to show that he gave up on it, it's rather depressing.
Rule 8: Do not make Danny or Dani some lost Element of Harmony, nor make them take the place of one of the Mane 6 as a bearer of the Elements of Harmony.
Rule 9: Danny is seen as an adult in the MLP world, there are too many where he is seen as the same age as the CMC, and they don't really go anywhere and just stop.
Rule 10: If you decide to do the Equestria Girls movies, then they have to be a different universe than Danny's.
Rule 11: If you decide to make all the characters anthro, then their cutie marks have to be displayed somewhere non-sexual, as after all, some get theirs rather young and it would be super freaking weird if it was somewhere that is only seen when undressed when in the company of your significant other.
Rule 12: Keep an eye on the timeline, in MLP:FiM, seasons 1 through 4 take place over an entire year, so keep that in mind.
Option 1: While you can do a multi-pairing, try to keep it to a reasonable number, please.
Option 2: Have magical items be more abundant, they don't have to be ridiculously common, but we don't really see that many that aren't plot related, so take inspiration from anywhere, as long as it's some kind of fantasy it doesn't matter, maybe those communication mirrors from Harry Potter, a Cauldron of Plenty from D&D, or perhaps even something like a ring or necklace that lets you directly communicate with one specific class of animal family, like reptiles.
Now the Numbered Annotations;
(1) Facultative means; occurring optionally in response to circumstances rather than by nature. It's a term used to describe animals that normally are herbivorous or carnivorous but will eat vegetation or meat if their dietary needs are not being met, like deer eating bones for calcium when it comes for growing their antlers
(2) I'm doing this based on the MLP Equestria Girls movies where Twilight Sparkle goes to a world where Humans, not Ponies, are the dominant species, and she and all her friends seem to be of freshmen high school age, while yes, the CMC are there too, but after the first movie, they aren't really seen much if at all, it's been awhile so I don't really remember the details, so they could have been let out early and just went to Canterlot High because AJ, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash are there.
