Chapter 33
While we're training, we also evolve our Espurr into Meowstic. Male Meowstic looks different than female Meowstic. Bonnie says, "Wow... we did see Calem's Meowstic before, but I never knew that female Meowstic looks different from the male one."
"Meowstic is one of the Pokemon who is able to learn different moves depending on the gender." Serena says. "The defensive instinct of the males is strong. It's when they're protecting themselves or their partners that they unleash their full power."
"And the females are a bit more selfish and aggressive than males. If they don't get what they want, they will torment you with their psychic abilities." I say.
"I'm not that selfish..." The female Meowstic is not happy with the Pokedex description, and we all chuckle.
Meowstic: The Constraint Pokemon: Psychic Type. The eyeball patterns on the interior of its ears emit psychic energy. It keeps the patterns tightly covered because that power is too immense.
When we continue moving, we decide to have lunch, and Clemont seems to be in deep thought that the food is burning. Serena says, "That's not like you at all. Are you alright?"
"I got lost in my thoughts." Clemont frowns.
And that's when we find a Power Plant in front of us. Clemont says, "That's the Kalos Power Plant."
"My big brother designed that place." Bonnie says.
"Not exactly. I just helped with the programming." Clemont says.
"I think that's so cool." Elline says.
"The Kalos Power Plant collects the sun's energy directly from space, then transmits it down to our planet's surface as microwaves. It is stored in a superconductor energy storage ring and then distributed to Lumiose City."
Elline says, "That reminds me. Didn't Sina and Dexio say something about the power outrage in Lumiose City?"
David says, "You're right... maybe there's something going on in the Power Plant... how about we go check out the place up close?"
While they're saying that, I notice a card on the ground, it seems to be the Power Plant Pass. I say nothing while picking it up.
That's when we find a scientist, who says "Those Team Flare people in those red suits... Nobody who's worth anything hangs out with a group wearing garish outfits like that."
We realize that Team Flare is in the Power Plant and we decide to go there, and we come across a grunt, "I'm a member of the stylish Team Flare, and I'm gonna win in style!"
He tries to use Houndoom and Golbat to stop us, but we defeat them with the help of our Meowstics. "And now, I'll stylishly run away!"
As he tries to run and check his pocket, and he gasps, "Where's my Power Plant Pass?! Oh no! D-did I drop my Power Plant Pass somewhere? I know what to do! I'll make a stylish deduction! I must've dropped it when I was feeling around that boulder nine steps east of where I'm standing. If I only had a Drowsing Machine, then I could find it with style."
After he leaves, I say, "So this Power Plant Pass must be the one that he dropped. Good thing I picked it up."
Serena says, "That's great awesome, Ash."
We use the pass and enter the place, and we are immediately ambushed by Team Flare Grunts. "Seriously, though. Who are you? Only authorized personnel are allowed in here!"
Then he tries to defeat us with Scarggy and Croagunk, but we defeat both Fighting types with Hawlucha. "Who do you think you are? Team Flare is busy... redirecting... the power that's supposed to go to Lumiose City, see? Don't get in our way!"
We are angry at what they're going to do with Lumiose City, and we ignore him and rush into another room, where we find the tied-up workers.
"Who are you? Are you one of them too?" One worker asks.
"One of who?" After we untie time, a worker says, "This plant is under siege by hijackers known as Team Flare."
"I see... so do you know where they are now?" Clemont asks.
"They must be in the power plant's control room." Another worker says.
"you see, the control room is right next to the superconductor ring. And I'm pretty sure they're still there." The third worker says.
Then we continue to run in the Power Plant, battling the grunts here and there, until we finally reach the control room. An Admin asks, "How much longer?"
"If you're just interested in the facts, I'd say we already have enough energy to power the device." The female says, and she seems to be on another level than admins...
"Good. Let's finish up here and move out. There's still more work to be done." The admin says.
"What other work do you mean?" The female continues to ask, and that's when she notices us. "Perhaps you mean taking out annoying little Pokémon Trainers over there?"
"What's this? I didn't think anyone remained here after we dealt with the workers!" The admin says.
"Too bad that one of you dropped the card so we can enter and save them, also taking back the Power Plant."
He tries to use Houndoom to battle, but Absol deals with that Pokemon with Megahorn. "Scientist, take care of these pesky intruders!" The Admin says.
So that girl is a scientist, and she says, "Ah ha ha! It would be my pleasure. Come on, little Trainer! Let's see what you've got!"
Clemont asks, "So who are you? How dare you take over the Power Plant?"
"Allow me to introduce myself, intruders. My name is Aliana. As you can see, I'm one of Team Flare's Scientists. I'm researching a certain something that you wouldn't understand, anyway. Unfortunately for you, I've been charged with the simple task of your elimination."
Clemont says, "Since this is related to Lumiose City, I should be the one doing this!"
Then Clemont uses Luxio to battle her Mightyena. It is a one-sided battle as Luxio has been beaten badly, but it is then Luxio evolves into Luxray, and it uses Electric Terrain to set up the field.
"What?" Aliana gasps in surprise. Clemont says, "Good, now time to make a Counterattack! When Electric Terrain is in effect, electric-type attacks get a power boost. Use Wild Charge!"
Then Luxray hits Mightyena and knocks it out. Aliana says, "Ah ha ha! Well, I certainly didn't expect you to be so interesting! I do hope we can meet again!"
Then Team Flare retreats, and that's when we hear Sina's voice, "Oh my!"
They seem to be wearing some kind of masks? Why? Sina says, "You chased off that mysterious bunch before we could even get here? Well, I guess there's always room for more defenders of Kalos! Let me heal your Pokémon as thanks!"
"You and your Pokémon are the ultimate team! No doubt about it! But don't push yourself too hard. Here. Take these." Dexio says as he gives us Full Restores. "Thanks to you, the power is back on in Lumiose City. Now people can pass through the gate connecting Route 13 to Lumiose City again."
"Well, I think us mysterious people will be off now! I leave before being left. I decide. Au revoir!" Then they leave, and Serena asks, "What is with them?"
"I've no idea." David adds.
After we head outside, Clemont says, "I'm truly sorry that some sections of the power plant were destroyed."
"Don't be. Not a problem. Because of you, Lumiose City is safe. We're the ones who should apologize." "We're using the subsystem to supply power to the city, so everything is fine."
"That's great." I say.
"And I learn something else from you, Ash." Clemont says.
"I didn't do anything. You're the one who defeated that Scientist." I say.
"He's right You were really amazing." Serena says.
"Yup. You were so great!" Bonnie says.
"Well, thank you all. It's nice to know you feel that way." Clemont says.
Then as the workers are going back to Lumiose City, Clemont and Bonnie suddenly decide to go back to Lumiose City first, much to our surprise. "Guys? What are you doing?" David asks.
"I think it's time that we headed back to Lumiose City." Clemont says.
"Then we'll go along." Serena says.
"No. I'm just not satisfied with where I am right now. I want to go home and work hard and train before you come to the Lumiose City." Clemont says. "By the time you challenge the Lumiose Gym, I'll be ready to give you a battle that you'd expect from a Gym Leader."
"I see. But still, I'm not going to lose, no matter what." I say as we shake hands. Then Bonnie says, "Sorry about that, but I also need to prepare the gym test with my brother."
"We understand." Then we bid farewell to Clemont and Bonnie as we continue forward.
On the way back to Lumiose City, we evolve our Inkay into Malamar, and its move Topsy-Turvy really gives us a lot of trouble.
Malamar: The Overturning Pokemon: Dark and Psychic Type. Evolve from Inkay at LV:30 with the game system held outside down. It lures prey close with hypnotic motions, then wraps its tentacles around it before finishing it off with digestive fluids.
And as we continue moving, we find Tierno. "It's been a long time, hasn't it?"
"It's Tierno!" We greet him, and he is attracted to Serena's new clothes and haircut, and Serena is sweatdropping. Then he asks, "Hey, where's Clemont and Bonnie?"
"Well..." When we tell him what happened, he gasps, "No kidding? Clemont is a Gym leader?"
"He's in Lumiose City now getting ready for our battle." I say.
"I remember challenging the Lumiose City Gym once. But I know I didn't see Clemont, I battled some weird robot." Tierno says.
"You're talking about Clembot." David says. "Clemont built that robot himself."
Then he also shows that he already has the Voltage Badge, and then we decide to have a battle with Tierno, and he's using Wartortle and Raichu, which is surprising since we never knew he caught a Raichu. I decide to use Sliggoo and Eevee to battle.
"Eevee, this is your first battle, are you ready?" I ask, and Eevee looks at Pikachu first before giving an assuring nod. Eevee starts with Quick Attack while Wartortle holds its ground and uses Rapid Spin. Eevee manages to dodge with its dancing while Raichu uses Charge Beam and Focus Blast on Silggoo, but Silggoo takes the hit and begins charging Bide.
"That sure is some cool moves you have there, Eevee." Tierno says.
"This girl here sure likes to dance." Serena smiles as Eevee continues to dance her way out of the moves. With its Bide fully charged, Silggoo launches the attack and Wartortle tries to block with Hydro Pump, but Eevee responds with Swift, allowing Silggoo's Bide to hit Raichu and Wartortle.
Elline looks at the sky and says, "Ash, it is about to rain!"
Serena says, "Yeah, you should stop the battle now."
I say, "It is fine, we can still battle in the rain."
Tierno says, "He is right, we should make the battle over."
When the raindrops, Silggoo starts to evolve into Goodra, causing everyone to be shocked.
Goodra: The Dragon Pokemon: Dragon Type. Evolve from Sliggoo at LV:50 during the rain. This very friendly Dragon-type Pokémon will hug its beloved Trainer, leaving that Trainer covered in sticky slime.
Serena says, "Of course, Silggoo evolves in the rain, and it can't be the Rain Dance."
Tierno says, "Wow, this is the first time I have seen Silgoo evolve. But now I should get serious."
Tierno and his Pokémon then begin their dance rhythm and Wartortle uses Skull Bash, but Goodra catches and holds Wartortle. As Raichu tries to use Focus Blast, Eevee counters it with Swift again. Goodra throws Wartortle into Raichu, leaving them both struggling. To finish off their opponents, Eevee uses Disarming Voice on Wartortle and Goodra uses Dragon Pulse on Raichu. Both attacks hit the Pokémon, knocking them out, and I'm declared the winner of the battle.
After taking shelter at a cave, Tierno says, "Ash, I hear that there will be a Wallace Cup in Lumiose City."
"There is? That is cool, I have won once, but I used it on the Sinnoh Grand Festival, I can get another one to compete in the Kalos one."
Tierno says, "Not if I use it. I need it to be my fourth ribbon."
"So you also have 3, too?" Serena asks.
"I guess you are, too, Ash?" Tierno says.
"Yeah. Hey, when the rain stops, how about we go together?" I ask.
"Sure." Tierno says.
And as we continue to move, we find a strange tall man in front of us, and he says, "The Pokémon… The flower Pokémon… The Pokémon that was given eternal life…"
After that, he leaves. Elline asks, "Who is he?"
"No idea." Serena says as we enter the gate to Lumiose City.
