Isis
After some time, Ruby's cries stifled. Now she was merely shaking, her silent tears running down my shoulder and soaking in my dress.
I don't know how long we stayed like that, but I wasn't going to rush her grieving. When she finally left ("Wipe your tears, dear. For your boy's sake if not for Ma'at's."), I emptied the scrying pool, put out the candles. I'd have to check on Horus later, his connecting to the waking world had probably weakened.
As I made my way around the pool, my mind drifted back to Sadie.
A way too familiar face swam in front of my vision. The magic of his name, fresh on my tongue, set itself free from its golden chains, just to get consumed by the storm it belonged to.
Set, you plotting liar! You backstabbing monster! How much lower could you sink, manipulating a child into giving up our only protection!
Ill have to upgrade the palace protections. Call all guards, make sure they don't let him in. Sadie made sure the Red Lord wont hurt her family, but nothing was said about mine.
Osiris and Anubis are safe, Aaru already heavily guarded. It's Horus that would be vulnerable, with all the stress and uproar going on.
I took some of my more important potions in a leather bag, my wedding ring, a extra staff. My boy will have to excuse his mother's protectiveness, I wont be leaving his side till all of this is over.
And Nephthys, oh my poor little sister! Ma'at, let our sister wake soon! Guide her home before Set could reach her! He could never really hurt her, of course. But he knows her mind as she knows his heart. I'm afraid if what they trigger in each other, of what he could turn her into.
