I was having a blast with the vacation Blitzø granted me. Thank god for that. Because during my vacation time it was gonna be the day that he and Loona were gonna have 'the talk'. Frost and I went to Blood Bath Beach for a beach day, had a day over at LuLu World, and had a date night at Ozzie's club.

After a great breakfast made by my wonderful boyfriend, Octavia texted me. She asked if she wanted to chill so I got my things and met up with her.

We did a little catching up.

"So, why the sudden reconnection?" I asked.

"I was just… hoping that you would… Tell me about what you're doing at your job." Octavia stuttered.

I raised my eyebrow at her. "You want me to talk about my work?"

"Well since you've been working for an assassination company… you must have some stories to tell. I would love to hear them."

I gave a shrug. "Why not."

I told her about how I found the job. About the time I almost got killed by a murderous family. Then we met Verosika Mayday and challenged her to a demon duel for a parking spot. And we met a group of cherubs and how I met Frost. Next I told her about our adventure to the Wrath ring at the Harvest Moon Festival. Then about how me, Moxxie and Blitzø got caught by the human goverment. And finally I ended it about our shit storm of a double date with my boss, her dad, my boyfriend and myself.

After I was done explaining my experience Octavia was blown away. "That is a lot to unpack."

"You have no idea, Octave." Then I decided to ask her again. "Why did you call me out here? We haven't seen each other since we were five. Then out of the blue you contact me outside of my work."

Octavia took a breath and finally answered the question she's been dodging.

"Truth is… that tonight is the night that my dad and I were supposed to see the star fall called Azathoth's Tears. It only happens once in a thousand years. I have wanted to see it with him ever since I was a kid. But now with everything going on between mom and dad I don't think I'll ever get to see it. So I need your help to steal my father's Grimoire from your boss."

After that summarized explanation I only blinked and said, "Let's do it."

"I know that you're not willing to steal from your boss but— wait what?"

"You heard me, let's do it. You said it yourself, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. No way I'm letting you miss that."

Octavia smiled and gave me a hug. "Thanks Aaron. You're such a good friend."

"You know I always have your back."

With that, we made our way to the I.M.P office. As we stood at the door we had our gear ready and our heads up high with confidence.

"Ready grasshopper?" I asked.

She wrapped her hair around her face. "You know I am."

I also wrapped my hair around my face. "Good. Now follow my lead."

I opened the door to the office and I managed to get past my coworkers without being spotted or heard. Except maybe by Loona but I don't think she cared why I was sneaking around with my hair around my face.

When I reached Bliztø's office I gave the signal to Octavia to move. After she snuck past the office we were one step closer to our score.

"That was easier than I thought." Said Octavia as she removed her hair from across her face.

I unwrapped my hair around my face and said, "Yeah they're not that smart. You get the book. I'll keep watch." Octavia gave me a nod.

As Octavia ransacked the office looking for her fathers spellbook I kept watch to make sure everyone was none the wiser.

"Psst hey Aaron, I think this is where it is." Octavia whispered. I walked over and she pointed me to a large wall safe.

I gave the safe a look over to see if I could get a clue about what the passcode was. "Try one two three four."

She input the numbers I suggested. When we heard it click it opened up and it revealed that Stolas's grimoire was inside. "Alright Aaron do the thing."

"What? I don't know how to use it. I usually have Loona or Blitzø use the book." I told her.

Octavia sighed and said, "Never mind then. I'll use it."

She took the book out of the safe and opened it. This was it. We were at the brink of it. And once we opened that portal there was no turning back.

She turned to the page and she said, "Take me to see the stars."

Then stardust and symbols emerged from the book. And the portal to the living world opened up. But this didn't happen without attracting attention. Blitzø, Moxxie and Millie all burst into the room with weapons drawn. In a panic I scurried backwards and bumped into Octavia sending us both through the portal.

It looks like I was gonna be thrown into an unexpected adventure today.

After my daze wore off there were gold plated stars aligned in the streets. And one of them was vomited on by a hobo causing Via to slide backwards and bump into a dead body. When I helped her get off the ground she backed away from the body where she bumped into a street performer dressed as a clown.

"This is my territory, bitch!" He shouted. "Take your shitty costume and get the fuck off my corner!" He then proceeded to push her, causing her to almost get hit by a car.

"Hey hey!" I take out my switchblade and point it at this throat. "You want me to gut this fucker Via?" When I didn't get an answer I looked over to see that she was running away. I looked back at the performer and said, "You got off lucky. Keep pushing minors, I might see you again soon."

With that I ran after Octavia. Along the way I almost ran into some protesters, a golden statue and a couple of ladies. When I found Octavia she was in an alleyway breathing heavily.

I sat down beside her to calm her down and asked if she was okay.

"Yeah, I'm fine. This was just a mistake." Via said with doubt. "We should head back while we have the chance."

"Hey Princess." I lightly tapped her face and turned her head towards me. "Look at me. I'm not gonna give up until we see those stars. We made it this far and I'm not about to turn back. And I don't think we're gonna have a fun time if we do. Now repeat after me; we can do this together."

Via took a breath and said, "We can do this together."

"I can't hear you."

"We can do this together!"

"That's my girl." I stood up with an outstretched hand. "Now let's go see those stars."

We stepped back into the streets and I realized that I had no idea where to go. We tried asking people but they couldn't be bothered to stop.

"Vee, it's pretty clear that we gotta figure this out ourselves." I told her.

"We gotta see those stars somehow. It's not like any options are gonna fall out of the sky."

Little did we know it did fall out of the sky. Well more like the wind carrying a piece of paper but still. She takes the paper off my face to read it.

Starz struck tourz

Stalk your fave celeb!

And just as luck would have it the tour bus was parked just over on the other side of the street. When we got on and took our seats someone with a megaphone boarded.

"Okay now that I'm done regretting my li-I mean getting food we can continue with our tour."

With that the bus started moving. All this guy talked about was celebrities every five seconds as we stopped at every street corner.

Out of boredom and to hopefully take Octavia's mind off things I said, "Sooo Vee, what's this Aza-who nots Tears like?"

Octave looked my way and said, "Azathoth's Tears is a phenomenon that happens once in a thousand years. The great brilliance of an exploding star, the nimble dance of space dust through a nebula. From the deep eldritch recesses of the cosmos the tears of a forgotten colossus begin to fall. Tears made of the hopes and dreams of every living thing that never came to be. Condensed and sent shooting across the night sky in a dazzling final display."

After she was done explaining what it was I was in awe. "That sounds like an epic display. I can understand why you wanna see it so bad."

Via slumped back in her seat and said, "I just wished my dad spent less time fighting with my mum so he could come and see it with me."

When the tour was done Octave stepped off the bus and tore the paper in half. As we walked I tried to think of where else we could go. Then we stopped at a cool looking sign of an owl clutching a skull in its talons under a full moon that was titled Star Owl: Souvenir Shop.

After Vee took a selfie we peered in the store to see what they sell. So we decided that we had plenty of time to browse. I ended up buying a cool wolf shirt and an owl skull charm to put on my collar for myself and a purple cosmo leather jacket with a starlight owl printed on the back for Frost.

We visited many places. One place reminded her of her house and one place reminded me of the street I grew up on. While we were at the place where for some reason they put words on a hill I got distracted by a newspaper in the trash. After I flipped through it I saw there was an article about somewhere you can see the stars. A place called an observatory. I showed it to Via and we took the next bus to this observatory.

When we got there Vee told me it was almost time for the starfall. Now it was perfect. We had somewhere seeable and quiet where we could watch Azathoth's Tears. But when we reached the top of the balcony we just saw a veil of smog completely blocking the night sky.

Via was absolutely defeated. She started crying. I tried my best to comfort her but I didn't know what to do. Until the back up showed up.

"Hey." Loona greeted as she came up the steps.

"Hey." Via replied.

"Oh, hey Looner." I said nervously.

"How did you find us?"

"Your Sinstagram. Nice pics by the way." Loona told us as she brought up her phone, show the pictures Via posted of our adventure.

"Oh, thanks." Octave sniffled.

Loona put her phone away and asked, "You okay?"

Then that was when Octavia started to let it all out. "Can't believe I was so stupid. Aaron and I spent all day looking for a place where I could see some dumb meteor shower. And all I get is… this!" She gestures to the smoggy sky.

"Yeah, smog's a bitch." Loona sighed as she pulled out a cigarette.

Loona attempts to light up the cigarette, but no flames come out. As she tries, Octavia snaps a flame for Loona's cigarette. Loona takes a smoke, as some of it gets in our faces. Causing us to cough.

'You know, your dad's really worried about you." Loona tells her.

"Right! That's why you're here instead of him." Octavia snapped. "He couldn't be bothered to keep his promise, and now he can't be bothered to come and get me himself. He'd rather spend his time just screaming at my mum. Why does he hate her more than he loves me?"

I didn't know how to respond to her question. I just sat there biting my bottom lip and stuttering, "Well… it's not… it can… they can…"

I felt Loona put a hand on my shoulder and gave me that look that said, 'I got this'.

She exhaled a puff of smoke from her cigarette and said, "Sometimes... sometimes it's not as simple as that. This kind of shit gets messy, and everybody's got issues, especially dads. And sometimes they fuck up - well, all the time. But, that doesn't mean they don't care."

"If he cares, then where is he?" She asked.

She pointed to the city and said, "He's somewhere down there."

"He's… here?"

"Looking for you."

I looked down at the city with concern. If Stolas was here then without a doubt that Blitzø was here too.

"Is… Blitzø here?" I asked.

"Yeah he's here." Loona answered.

"Is he mad?"

"To be honest I don't know. I mean…" She smokes her cigarette once more. She continued to strike her lighter until it finally lit up. "Try to cut your dad some slack. He may not always get it right, but... he's trying. That's more important than you think."

"Right. Even dad's have issues. Hell, a few weeks ago my dad just told me that my mother is an angel."

When I told her this she quickly turned her head to me and said, "Your mom is an angel? Your dad was in a relationship with an angel?"

"Yeah I was shocked when I found out. I don't know much about it but I do know that my mom was unhappy with her marriage in heaven."

"You mean—"

"Yeah, not only am I part angel but I'm the product of their affair. My dad dated a few married people now and again so that part wasn't too much of a surprise. I'm just shocked that my mom turned out to be an angel."

"It must be difficult not knowing much about her."

"It is. I only knew her name when I recently talked to my dad about her. But no matter how many times I would miss my mom, my dad was always there and pushing me to be my best self. He may fuck up sometimes but it's crucial we both learn from our fuck ups."

"I just don't know where to start."

"Start with finding a part time job to get outta your house."

That was when the smog finally cleared. Showing the starlite night and the face of the full moon. Loona turns off her lighter and flicks her extinguished cigarette away.

After she gives out a big stretch she holds out her hand and says, "You two ready to go?"

But instead of giving Loona her own hand she gives her father grimoire instead. Loona gives her hand to Octavia once more, and this time, she is greeted with a hug, which Loona returns the favor.

Loona opens the book and opens a portal leading us to Stolas and Blitzø who were in human disguises. Happy to see his adoptive daughter again, my boss shouted, "Loona! Oh, Loona, my sweet baby girl! I'm so sorry, I'll never replace you no matter what you-"

But before he can finish his sentence, Loona furiously kicks him in the groin. Strangely, after she just obliterated an entire generation with just a hardy kick to the nuts, I could feel that all was right in the universe.

Then Stolas looked to his own daughter.

"Dad... I'm so sorry." Octavia told him

Stolas runs up to hug her, as he reverts back to his demon form. " I'm just relieved you're okay! But, what would possess you to do such a thing? You know I haven't taught you spells like this yet."

"I just wanted to see the stars you promised." Octavia told him.

"The stars?" He gasped when he realized what she meant. "Azathoth's tears! Oh, no. Oh, my dear sweet Via. I am so-"

Octave returned the hug and said, "I know, dad. It's okay, you're here now."

Stolas returns the hug to his daughter. Loona watches happily, until she notices Blitzø trying to hug her, and responds by smacking him with the book with a smug face. The calm was disrupted when we heard a whistle and an explosion, a burst of colors erupted in the sky. A barrage of fireworks were going off and creating an impromptu firework show just for us.

"What is that?" I asked.

"My acting career." Blitzø answered glumly.

It was rather interesting. It reminded me of the fireworks that Charlie would set off at the end of every Extermination. It was a signal to ensure everyone that the coast was clear.

"Was it how you imagined?" I asked her.

"Nope." She answered. "It's even better."

Things may not have gone as planned. But I'm just glad that Octavia and her dad were able to make up after this morning's misunderstanding. But for me not all misunderstandings were sorted. I heard Blitzø clear his throat. I turned to him and he was tapping his foot and pointed at the ground in front of him wanting to have a word with me. I reluctantly walked over to him fearing for the inevitable word lashing I'll receive.

He started with listing off the various offenses I had done this morning. "Jeez Aaron, you waltz into the office, stole the very thing that's keeping our business afloat, aided and embedded Stolas's runaway daughter and this was all done just this morning."

As I clutched the ends of my hair I said, "I guess you're pretty mad at me huh Blitzø? I understand if you wanna fire me." When Blitzø put his hands on both my shoulders I just looked to the ground, preparing for the worse.

"Aaron, look at me." I look Blitzø in the eyes. "I'm not mad at you. In fact I kinda admire that you'd have the balls to steal from me. You're my top assassin. No way I'm letting your skill go to waste."

He ruffled my hair and said, "Now where the fuck are Mn'M?"

After we located Moxxie and Millie, Blitzø dropped me off at home. As I entered my apartment Fester was barking and jumping on me and Frost was making dinner.

"Hey dear, how was the hang out with your Goetia friend?" asked Frost as he set up a plate.

I inhaled deeply and said, "It's a long story pussy cat."
