It was a warm, sunny day on Dragon's Edge. The riders were in the clubhouse eating breakfast. Astrid got up early that morning to make stew for everyone. She wasn't that much of a cook, but she wanted to do something nice. The riders were eating fruit and bread along with their stew that was left over from last night.
"How's the stew everyone?" Astrid asked.
"It's amazing," Exclaimed Hiccup. "You never told me you were a good cook." Astrid blushed. She did that every time he complimented her. Hiccup knew just what to say to make her blush.
"You need to give me the recipe Astrid, I've never tasted anything like this!" Fishlegs said with a mouthful of stew. Snoutlout cringed.
"Ew Fishlegs, don't talk with your mouth full!" Fishlegs sheepishly wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
"I'll gladly give you the recipe Fishlegs." Astrid said with a smile.
"How much salt did you put in this?" Tuffnut asked, stirring his bowl of stew with his finger and testing it with his tongue.
"Yeah," Ruffnut agreed. "I don't taste any of the salt."Ruffnut grabbed the bowl of salt and dumped half of the salt into her bowl before sliding the bowl to her twin brother who dumped the rest into his bowl. Hiccup blinked at the two.
"Don't you think you two overdid it with the salt?"
"There's never too much salt!" Shouted Ruffnut.
"Yeah," Tuffnut agreed. "You don't get it, H." Hiccup suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Astrid, who smiled at him shyly before shaking her head. Hiccup returned the affection by placing his hand over hers. The couple stared into each other's eyes lovingly.
"Ew, get a room you two." Snoutlout cut in.
"In front of our stew?" Tuffnut asked.
"How could you?!" Ruffnut shouted, horrified.
"You guys are just mad that you haven't found the one for you yet." Astrid said.
"Puh-lease," Snoutlout exclaimed, rolling his eyes. "I don't need anyone. The only person I need in my life is myself and if you haven't noticed Astrid, I'm so over you, you can have her Hiccup."
"Wow, thanks." Hiccup said.
"I personally think relationships are a waste of time." Tuffnut continued.
"I agree brother."
"No they're not!" Astrid argued.
"Relationships always get in the way of other relationships. Sometimes you two forget that we're even here." Tuffnut continued.
"Tuffnut, that's definitely not true," Hiccup cut in. "We both care about you all so much, you're our best friends." Tuffnut gasped.
"We're best friends Hiccup?!"
"Oh," Astrid said suddenly. "I forgot to mention, I invited a friend to come over to the Edge. I've been with her back and forth for several weeks now. She's told me she can't wait to meet you all."
"A friend you say," Fishlegs asked quirking an eyebrow. "Who's this friend of yours?" Astrid giggled.
"I'll introduce her when she gets here."
"Wow," Tuffnut exclaimed. "There's a ship docked in front of the edge!" The riders quickly got up from their chairs and raced out of the clubhouse to see who this mysterious friend was. The riders made it to the docks where a ship was docked already. Everyone watched as a woman with big, curly, long black hair and dark brown eyes driving the ship. When the women stepped out, the riders got a better look at her. She was thin, had almond shaped eyes, full lips and dressed in a black flowy long-sleeved shirt that hung off her shoulders, a dark brown corset on top, tight trousers and black boots that reached her knees.
"Astrid!" The women exclaimed. The women ran up to Astrid and hugged her tightly.
"How was the trip to Dragons Edge?" The women rolled her eyes.
"Oh, don't even get me started."
"Riders, I'll like to introduce you to Revna." Revna waved enthusiastically.
"Hello," The other riders gave her a friendly greeting. Revna turned to Hiccup suddenly. "Oh, and you must be Hiccup."
"The one and the only."
"I've heard so much about you…mainly because Astrid won't stop gushing about you." Astrid laughed.
"Oh stop, you're going to make him think he's special." The two women laughed.
"We wouldn't want that."
"Well, would you like a tour of the Edge?"
"Hiccup, I'd love that!" Hiccup led the way.
"Right this way."
After the tour of The Edge and meeting all the dragons, the riders and Revna went into the clubhouse to finish breakfast.
"Astrid, this stew is amazing, you never told me you could cook!"
"I know," Hiccup exclaimed. "What can't this woman do?" Astrid blushed.
"Would you like some salt with your stew my lady?" Tuffnut asked holding out the salt to Revna.
"Uh, no thanks, I don't really like salt." Ruffnut gasped dramatically.
"You don't like salt?!"
"How could you, Tuffnut exclaimed. "We can't be friends anymore."
"Not like I wanted too anyway." Revna muttered under her breath.
"Revna, we're going on a ride with our dragons after breakfast, would you like to join us?" Hiccup said suddenly, startling Revna. Revna paused for a moment.
"I'd love to Hiccup!" She finally said.
"You can ride with me and Stormfly." Astrid cut in.
"Okay."
"You'll love it!."
