DIARY OF A MEMBER OF SURVEY CORPS

The green blades of grass were trampled by the black hooves of the horses trotting at a fast pace, forward and without stopping, in the hope that, among these uncertain and tumultuous times of storm, they would find something, anything, a reason to be able to keep going one more day.

All our hearts were one. All dedicated to the same cause. Fight until you find freedom. The sky was blue and there were few clouds that day, the birds flew carefree and totally free. Maybe one day we could be like one of those birds, but until now all that was uncertain.

Covered with our green legion capes and determined to carry out our mission we entered the forest. For now there didn't seem to be any titans in sight, but we had to be cautious...

About two hundred meters ahead a titan appeared. It should not measure more than five or six meters.

Both scouts to my left and right jumped off their horses, swung between the tall, leafy trees and with a couple of pirouettes in the air they sliced the titan's neck off with relative ease.

After that everything continued calmly for at least a hundred meters, where three titans attacked us. These three, like the one we had seen previously, were not very tall, measuring at most about eight and a half meters or so.

I, like my companions, jumped off my horse and hooked myself to a tree with my three-dimensional maneuvering equipment. Then, using another tree, I propelled myself and with a pirouette in the air I was able to place myself on the back of the dazed titan. I quickly took out my blades and with a semi-circular motion I sliced the back of that titan's neck.

My heart was racing. Seeing that titan crash lifelessly to the ground, I breathed a sigh of relief.

The titan smelled horrible, like dead opossums. His squinting eyes stared at us after he died.

My companions had taken care of the other two titans. So we avoid the body of that titan and continue through the forest.
