Marinette was sleeping and then is woken up by her cellphone.
Marinette wakes up "Huh? Happy birthday- ow!" She jumps down the stairs and hits her chaise. "Happy birthday!" she gets on her computer and turns it on, revealing her desktop background to be a collage of Adrien Agreste's pictures. "Ah! Happy birthday, Adrien." She makes kissing noises towards the screen.
Meanwhile, in Adrien's bathroom, the young model was brushing his teeth.
"Happy birthday, Adrien!" Plagg exclaimed, appearing out of nowhere and presenting a piece of Camembert cheese wrapped with a vibrant red bow.
Adrien's nose scrunched up in disgust as he quickly plugged it. "Ugh, Plagg! Get that filthy piece of Camembert out of my face!" he exclaimed.
Confused by Adrien's reaction, Plagg blinked in surprise. "Huh?" he exclaimed, before shrugging it off and devouring the cheese with delight. A contented expression crossed his face as he rubbed his belly, clearly savoring the delicious treat.
In the cozy atmosphere of Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie, Marinette descended the stairs, clutching a beautifully wrapped gift in her hands. Meanwhile, her mother, Sabine, was in the kitchen, savoring a cup of tea.
As Marinette made her way towards the kitchen, Sabine gently reminded her, "Marinette, don't forget to tidy up your room after school today."
With a hint of exasperation, Marinette responded, "Mom! It's Friday, and I already have plans with Alya."
Sabine, undeterred, decided to tease her daughter a little. "Fine, I'll take care of it myself. But don't blame me if I stumble upon your secret treasures, like your emails or your diary," she listed mischievously.
Marinette couldn't help but resist the urge to groan loudly. There was no way she was going to let Sabine invade her private thoughts by reading her diary. "Okay, okay! I'll do it, I promise," she conceded, approaching her mom to give her a kiss before heading out.
"Have a wonderful day, my sweetie!" Sabine bid her farewell, a warm smile adorning her face.
"Happy birthday—I mean, have a fantastic day!" Marinette quickly corrected herself, a blush tinting her cheeks, before closing the door behind her.
Curiosity piqued, Sabine hummed in surprise, but quickly dismissed it with a nonchalant shrug. Sipping her tea, she couldn't help but wonder what her daughter meant by those slip of words. "Hm," she mused.
Scene: Agreste Mansion.
Adrien is eating alone at a big dining table. He looks content.
Just then, Nathalie entered the room, holding a tablet in her hands. She approached Adrien and extended the device towards him. "Your schedule, Adrien," she said, her voice calm and composed.
Adrien accepted the tablet. "Thanks, Nathalie," he replied. As Nathalie turned to leave, a glimmer of excitement crossed Adrien's face. "Hey, did my father get back to you about coming to my birthday party?" he inquired eagerly.
Nathalie hesitated for a moment, her guilt evident in her expression. "Well, um... He has a busy schedule today," she confessed, her voice tinged with regret.
Adrien's face fell, disappointment washing over him. He spoke softly, his disappointment palpable. "R-Right, sorry," he murmured.
Before leaving the room, Nathalie turned back to Adrien, her voice filled with warmth. "Happy birthday, Adrien," she wished him sincerely, leaving him to contemplate the day ahead.
Adrien and Nino were engrossed in their conversation, unaware of the hidden spectators nearby. Nino, blowing bubbles, expressed his disappointment about Mr. Gabriel's absence. "Aw, seriously. Mr. Gabriel isn't coming? I know he's busy being a fashion designer but you think he'd make some time for his kin, y'know?."
Adrien, trying to lighten the mood, swiftly changed the subject. "It's okay, Nino. So you still on to DJ at the party?."
Nino, showing his enthusiasm, wrapped his arm around Adrien. "You know it, bro!"
Meanwhile, Alya, who was nearby, encouraged Marinette with a reassuring tone. "You can do it, you can do it!"
Marinette, feeling a surge of confidence, repeated Alya's words to herself. "I can do it, I can do it!"
However, as Marinette glanced at Adrien, her nerves got the better of her. She sat down and whispered to herself, "I can't do it, I can't do it!"
Alya, facepalming at Marinette's self-doubt, intervened. "Uh, no you don't, girl. You've been stalling all morning. Now's the time." She gently pushed Marinette towards Adrien.
Startled, Marinette stood right in front of Adrien, her heart racing. "Ah! Um, he- Hey!" she stammered, feeling nervous as she kept her gift hidden behind her back.
Adrien, noticing Marinette's presence, greeted her with a friendly wave. "Hey."
Chloé gracefully descends the staircase, her eyes fixed on Adrien. Marinette, on the other hand, struggles to find her words, stumbling over her sentences.
"I, uh, I wanted to, umm, gift you a make-– I mean, gift you a give I made- I mean..." Marinette stammers.
"Happy birthday, Adrien!" Chloé greeted, much to Marinette's chagrin.
"Yeah, thanks Chlo." Adrien thanked.
"Uh, I was talking to-" Marinette begins to say, her voice tinged with annoyance, but Chloé remains oblivious to her presence. Alya can't help but facepalm once again, knowing the dynamics all too well.
Unfazed by Marinette's frustration, Chloé proudly presents Adrien with a wrapped box. "Got you this cool jacket I saw while shopping!" she exclaims. "I know you probably have a million but what's one more from your childhood best friend?"
Adrien graciously accepts the gift, a genuine smile spreading across his face.
"Can't wait for your party later. Welp bye!" Chloe leaves, humming a happy tune to herself.
Nino chuckles and playfully punches Adrien's arm.
Marinette opens her mouth again with a determined look on her face when Chloe leaves, but before she can speak to Adrien again, Luka walks up.
"Hey Adrien, Nino, happy birthday, Adrien." Luka greeted.
"Thank you, Luka. It's sweet of you to remember." Adrien blushed slightly as he spoke.
'Really, who am I? Invisible?' Marinette sighed, enviously.
"What kind of friend would I be if I didn't?" Anyway, I've got something for you. It's nothing special, but I made it myself and hope you enjoy it." Luka pulls out a necklace from his pocket and presents it to Adrien.
"Wow, thank you so much, Luka! Is this guitar pick? Adrien inquired.
"From Jagged Stone himself, well kind of. He tossed it into the crowd at a performance I attended, and I happened to catch it." Luka elaborated.
"Oh! This is too much for me, Luka! It's far too essential to you; I know you adore Jagged Stone!" Adrien said.
"I insist; you're a big fan too, and I want you to have it." Luka stated.
"Are you sure?" Adrien inquired.
Nino encourages Adrien, saying, "Dude, just take it already."
"I'm certain. I'll see you later, okay?" Luka waves as he walks over to his bike, intending to return home for lunch.
Adrien puts on the necklace, blushing and smiling at Nino.
"So Adrien-" Marinette started.
Suddenly, a horn honks and the limousine arrives for Adrien.
"Gotta go. Photoshoot. Maybe you can give me your present tomorrow, Marinette." Adrien said, gets into the limo and leaves.
"Marinette, I'm DJ-ing later. I can help you get your gift to Adrien?" Nino said bashfully.
Marinette winced at Nino and forced on a smile "No thanks, Nino. I'll be fine."
Marinette walked back to the bush. "Still there, Alya?"
Alya popped out of the bush "Yep, I'm here. That was rough."
"I KNOW! UGH" Marinette groaned, pulling at her blue pigtails. "It's like even when I can get my words out, people-!" Marinette hisses out the word 'people' for emphasis. "-suddenly can't seem to leave Adrien alone!"
"I know it seems rough now, girl. But maybe you can give to Adrien at his house or maybe give it to him at the party." Alya reassured, making Marinette calm down.
Outside the Agreste Mansion, Marinette and Alya stood at the gate, anticipation filling the air. Marinette took a deep breath, her determination shining through. "Okay, I can do this, I can do this," she whispered to herself, mustering up the courage to ring the bell.
A hidden compartment on the wall opened, revealing a camera. It was a convenient invention, allowing Nathalie to communicate without the stress of face-to-face interactions.
Nathalie's voice echoed through the speaker, "Yes?"
Marinette's voice trembled slightly as she introduced herself, "Hello, Miss Nathalie, it's Marinette." Instantly, Nathalie's face paled, a clear sign that she recognized the name. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the girl who had been infatuated with Adrien since they met in kindergarten. She had always gone to great lengths to give him gifts, even if it meant going through Nathalie. Her persistence was unmatched, often requiring the intervention of Marinette's parents to calm her down.
Nathalie silently thanked the heavens for the robot camera and controllable mailbox. It was a lifesaver, sparing her from the overwhelming stress of dealing with Marinette in person.
Marinette's voice turned sweet and gentle, almost like a coo, "I know it's Adrien's birthday today~" Her excitement was palpable. "So I made this amazing scarf, take it please?"
"Put it in the box." The mailbox obediently opened, ready to receive the gift.
With a grateful smile, Marinette carefully placed the scarf inside the mailbox. "Thank you~" she said, her voice filled with genuine appreciation. "Thank you!" As if on cue, the camera retreated and the wall compartment closed, leaving Marinette buzzing with excitement. "Oh! I hope he likes it!" she exclaimed, her heart brimming with anticipation.
"You signed the note, right?" Alya asked. Marinette makes a surprised face. "Ah, girl, girl, girl." Alya muttered, puts a finger up to her temple.
Marinette groans, she really was in her own way at times.
Nathalie stepped into her office, carefully cradling Marinette's gift in her hands. She set it down on her desk, taking a seat as she did so.
A voice crackled through the intercom. "Who was that, Nathalie?" Gabriel asked.
Nathalie hesitated for a moment, feeling a twinge of discomfort. "The Dupain-Cheng girl," she replied, her voice laced with unease. "She was delivering a gift for Adrien's birthday."
Gabriel's voice softened with sympathy. "Oh..." he murmured, his understanding evident. He had heard of Marinette's unwavering persistence. "Did you remember to give Adrien my present?" he asked, attempting to divert the conversation.
Nathalie nodded. "Later, sir," she assured him. "I'll give it to him sometime after the party."
"Good," Gabriel responded, his voice filled with satisfaction, before abruptly ending the call.
Nathalie let out a weary sigh, her shoulders slumping slightly. Just as she began to gather her thoughts, the sound of the doorbell was sounded. She quickly composed herself, hoping it wasn't Marinette arriving with another gift for Adrien. "Yes?" she called out, her voice tinged with a hint of apprehension.
From the camera outside, Nino's voice came through. "Uh, hi. Miss Nathalie, I'm here to plan the party with Adrien."
Nathalie let out a sigh of relief and said "Yes, Mr. Lahiffe, I'll let in you in just a second."
Marinette sat at the dining table, shaping her peas into a heart. As she molded the green vegetables, a thought crossed her mind. "Adrien must have received his gift by now," she mumbled to herself.
Just then, her mother, Sabine, opened the window and inquired, "What did you say, dear?"
Marinette quickly thought on her feet. "I said I can't wait to go to Adrien's party later," she lied. Sabine chuckled. "Oh, that's right. Adrien's birthday is today. Did you get an invitation?"
Marinette's heart sank. She hadn't received an invitation yet.
"Invitation?" she asked, trying to sound casual. "I always used to get them in class, but I haven't seen one yet."
Sabine nodded. "I talked to Marlena at the bakery earlier, and she said the Agrestes are mailing them out this year. Maybe the mail is just running late."
Marinette forced a smile. "Right, right, right," she said, her eye twitching nervously. She couldn't help but wonder if she had been left off the guest list.
Marinette took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "Maybe mom's right and the mail is just running late," she reassured herself.
Tikki let out a weary sigh from inside Marinette's purse, sensing that this situation was not going to end well.
So Marinette continued to wait...and wait...and wait some more. The past half an hour had been uneventful, except for her absentmindedly munching on her peas.
Growing increasingly frustrated, Marinette let out an exasperated sigh. Just then, she heard the sound of her mom opening the front door, carrying the long-awaited mail. Marinette's eyes widened with anticipation as she rushed out of the kitchen, snatching the mail from her mother's hands and eagerly scanning through the envelopes.
"Coupon...Bill...Magazine...more bills..." she muttered disappointedly, flipping through the stack. Her heart sank as she realized that none of them were an invitation to Adrien's birthday party.
Sabine, feeling sorry for her daughter, offered an comforting hand on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, Marinette."
Marinette slapped the hand off.
"It's fine, Mom!" Marinette snapped, her frustration getting the better of her. "I just need some time alone in my room!"
With that, she stormed off up the stairs, her emotions in turmoil, while Sabine watched sympathetically.
Marinette was seething with anger as she collapsed onto her bed, tears streaming down her face. "Fine," she muttered, wiping away her tears with the back of her hand. "If they won't let me in, I'll just have to crash the party."
She grabbed a mannequin head and carefully placed a wig that perfectly matched her own hairstyle onto it. Placing the makeshift "body" on her pillow, she scattered some of her clothes across the bed, creating the illusion of a sleeping figure. Finally, she draped a blanket over the clothes, concealing the ruse.
"This should fool Mom," Marinette whispered, a triumphant smirk playing on her lips. Locking the door would only raise suspicion, so if Sabine came to check on her, she would simply see 'Marinette' peacefully asleep and leave her be.
She unzipped her purse and revealed Tikki, her kwami. "Tikki, spots on!" she exclaimed, transforming into the villainous Miss Fortune.
With a leap out of her bedroom window, Miss Fortune swung towards the Agreste mansion, determined to crash the party and show everyone what she was made of. As she soared through the air, a family quickly ducked out of sight, terrified of the menacing figure in the sky.
Meanwhile, over at the Agreste mansion, the atmosphere was electric with excitement as the party kicked off. Eager kids made their way inside, clutching colorful gifts in their hands, while Nathalie warmly greeted them with a "Welcome."
In the midst of the festivities, Adrien stood at the entrance of his grand foyer, a radiant smile adorning his face as he soaked in the love and adoration from his friends. Their cheers and well wishes filled the air, creating an infectious energy that made his heart soar. "Yay! Woo! Happy birthday!" they exclaimed in unison, their voices brimming with genuine joy.
Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, Nino, always the life of the party, stepped forward and addressed the birthday boy with a mischievous grin. "Hey, hey, hey, birthday boy! Guess what? Daddy may be gone, but that doesn't mean we can't have an amazing time without him!" His words were met with an approving nod from Adrien, who couldn't help but feel grateful for his friend's infectious enthusiasm.
With a burst of energy, Nino made his way behind the DJ booth, ready to take charge of the music. "DJ Bubbler has gathered all your homies here tonight for one sole purpose - to celebrate!" he announced.
The crowd erupted in cheers, their enthusiasm echoing throughout the mansion. Nino wasted no time and began playing a selection of lively party tunes, setting the perfect mood for the festivities. "Let's get this party started!" he exclaimed.
As the music filled the room, a wave of euphoria washed over the guests, and they couldn't resist the urge to dance. The camera panned over the teens, capturing their carefree movements and radiant smiles, as they reveled in the joyous celebration.
Scene: Papillon's lair.
"Eager to help his friend of several years. How loyal! It won't be long before eagerness turns to determination!" Papillon turns a butterfly into an kamiko. "Fly away, my little kamiko, and amplify him." The kamiko flies out into Paris.
Miss Fortune could hear the thumping bass of the party from a distance. She grinned mischievously and whispered to herself, "Time to crash this party, my love~" With a swift movement, she swung towards the Agreste Mansion.
Cut to the Agreste Mansion, where the guests were dancing and having a great time. Adrien was among them, enjoying the festivities. He walked over to Rose, who looked ecstatic.
"This party is incredible, Adrien!" Rose exclaimed, beaming. "Do you happen to have those scrumptious strawberry macarons from last year's party?"
Adrien smirked and replied, "I'm not sure. Why don't you go check?" Rose giggled and gave him a thumbs up before hurrying off to satisfy her sweet tooth.
Chloé and Juleka were gesturing to Sabrina, urging her to do something near the DJ booth.
"I have a special request," Sabrina announced.
"Isn't it a little too soon for that?" Nino interjected.
"It's for... um, Adrien," Juleka mumbled.
Chloé finished for her, "It's for Adrien." She pointed towards Luka and Adrien engaged in conversation.
"Oh, you girls know it," Nino exclaimed, swiftly changing the music to a slow dance. Couples began to pair up and sway to the romantic rhythm.
Adrien and Luka exchanged a contented glance.
"Speaking of which, this music's pretty great. Wanna dance?" Luka offered.
Adrien's cheeks turned a rosy shade as he bashfully replied, "Sure..."
As they moved closer to each other, their bodies swayed in perfect harmony. Chloe couldn't help but smile at the sight, her heart warming at the love between her friends.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel approached Chloe with a gentle smile, extending his hand towards her. Without hesitation, Chloe accepted his invitation, and the two gracefully joined the dance floor.
Over at the snack table, Juleka spotted Rose enjoying some strawberry macarons. Their eyes met, and a shared smile passed between them. They decided to leave the table behind and make their way towards the dance floor.
On the balcony, Miss Fortune observed Nino as he changed a record. Her gaze then shifted towards Luka and Adrien, who were lost in their own world of dance.
In a fit of envy, Miss Fortune let out a growl, exclaiming, "This can't be happening!"
"Unlucky Charm." Said power gave her a record. "A record?" she questioned. She smirked and flung the record, watching as it soared through the air, hitting the ledge before bouncing towards the DJ booth. With a resounding thud, it landed on the empty spot, causing the volume to skyrocket and the dance music to fill the party once again. The infectious beat compelled everyone to break away from their partners and continue dancing.
Caught off guard, Adrien hesitantly distanced himself from Luka, while Nino noticed the sudden change in music. "Dude! Who just hijacked my mix?" he pondered aloud.
Miss Fortune declared, "Yours truly." However, her triumph was short-lived as her earring beeped, signaling the need for a swift exit before her transformation wore off. Without wasting a moment, she leaped off the balcony, landing outside the balcony of the Agreste Mansion. "Spots off," she commanded, reverting back to Marinette.
Tikki emerged from the earrings, landing gracefully on her hands. She let out a sigh of frustration and fatigue. "Marinette!"
"Don't look at me like that, it was an emergency." Marinette said.
"Yeah, if by emergency, you mean jealousy. You know what happens once you use your Lucky-sorry Unlucky Charm. You only have minutes before-–" Tikki started.
"I know, I know!" Marinette interrupted, her eyes rolling in exasperation. "Save me the lecture, Tikki. But I thought I was being discreet, and we still have time to grab some food for you to regain your energy. Then, we'll be right back out there, I promise." Her words were laced with bitterness, and Tikki couldn't help but frown.
With a swift motion, Marinette tucked Tikki safely into her purse and entered the bustling party. Her eyes scanned the room, searching for a secluded spot where she could transform without being noticed. Making her way to the food table, she quickly snatched a handful of cookies and stashed them in her purse for Tikki.
"I need to find a place to transform, and fast," Marinette muttered under her breath.
A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts. Marinette turned to see Alya. "Where have you been, girl? Guess Adrien finally decided to invite you."
Marinette forced a smile. "Yep, my mom told me to wait, so I did, and it paid off."
The two friends embraced.
"I'm so glad you're here! Come with me, I've got something for you," Alya exclaimed, leading the way.
Marinette hesitated for a moment. "Actually, there's something I need to take care of first."
Alya's eyes twinkled mischievously. "It's about Adrien~"
Marinette groaned, knowing she couldn't resist Alya's persuasive powers. She stole a quick glance at Tikki, who was nibbling on a cookie. Marinette gave her a warning look, silently urging her to eat faster.
Marinette chased after Alya. The scene shifted to Nathalie Sancoeur's office, where the two girls stealthily snuck in. Their eyes landed on Marinette's gift, neatly placed on Nathalie's desk.
"Look! Now you can sign your gift," Alya whispered excitedly. "Miss Nathalie is at the entrance, so we're in the clear."
Marinette gasps "Ah, yes!"
Marinette signs the post-it note, adding a heartfelt "Love, Marinette" before sticking it to the present.
From the depths of Marinette's purse, Tikki emerges, having finally eaten her cookie.
A mischievous grin spreads across Marinette's face as she turns to Alya.
"Excuse me, I need to use the bathroom," Marinette says, her voice dripping with slyness. "You go ahead, I'll catch up with you later in the yard."
Alya nods and heads off, completely unaware of the devious plan brewing in Marinette's mind. With a wicked smile, Marinette makes her way to the bathroom.
Cut back to outside. Adrien is on top of the DJ booth and has a microphone in his hand.
"Hey, Paris, how you doing?" Adrien asked.
He raises the mike in excitement, and they cheer. Adrien jumps out and Miss Fortune can be seen on the roof.
"Miss Fortune?!" Adrien asked alarmed.
Miss Fortune throws her yo-yo. It hits the power strip and unplugs everything. Miss Fortune retracts her yo-yo.
"Sorry, Adrien, but the party is over." Miss Fortune said.
"Why you gotta be like that?" Nino asked upset.
But instead of offering an explanation, she responded with a mocking tone, as if his concerns were unworthy of her attention. "What?" she retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Can't I have a little fun on my own?"
In a fit of anger, Miss Fortune flung her yo-yo towards Nino, striking him square in the nose. The impact sent him stumbling backward, causing a wave of horror to wash over everyone witnessing the scene.
As Nino regained his composure, his upset only grew. Little did he know that fate had something unexpected in store for him. Just as he sat up, a kamiko flew into his back pocket, right where he kept his bubble wand. As the delicate figure settled, a butterfly-shaped outline began to spread across Nino's face. And then, a mysterious voice echoed in his ears.
"Papillon is my name, and Bubbler is now yours," Papillon said.. "I will assist you in dealing with this party pooper, but in return, I ask for your help in obtaining something from Miss Fortune, alongside Chat Noir."
Nino's eyes widened with surprise, but he quickly composed himself. "You've got a deal, Papillon," he responded, determination shining in his voice. And with that, everyone watched in awe as Nino transformed into Bubbler, ready to face Miss Fortune and whatever challenges lay ahead.
Miss Fortune, on the other hand, growled in annoyance, her plans disrupted by the unexpected turn of events.
The Bubbler, with his skin shimmering in a brilliant shade of arctic blue, possessed a captivating aura. His eyes, a deep amaranth hue, were accentuated by the presence of black circles around them. Above his left eye, a small black spot, while below his right eye, another black spot added a hint of intrigue. His attire consisted of a vibrant tunic, adorned with hues of luminous red, arctic blue, and sunny yellow. The tunic, with its rounded contours resembling attached bubbles, extended to his elbows. A red hood-like accessory encircled his head, featuring a prominent red antenna atop a spherical red ornament.
Completing his ensemble were sleek black boots, elbow-length gloves boasting brilliant amaranth knuckles, and a pair of black pants. Adorning his chest was an eye-like black and white circle, accompanied by two dark gray tubes that were securely attached. These tubes served as a connection to the Bubbler's bubble container, a mesmerizing blend of red, yellow, and blue. It was within this container that he stored his bubble wand when it was not in use. The wand itself boasted a blue handle and a yellow head, featuring a long, oval-shaped hole.
Nino, also known as the Bubbler, exclaimed with excitement, "This is SOOO sweet! Off the hook!" He then turned to Miss Fortune with a determined look and declared, "You won't be ruining this party!" The Bubbler unsheathed his bubble sword and launched two bubbles at her, but she skillfully deflected them. Chaos ensued as the crowd dispersed in all directions.
"I've been a complete idiot to think Miss Fortune wouldn't attack the party." Adrien said downcast. "Plagg, Claws out!" He transforms into Chat Noir.
Miss Fortune and The Bubbler were locked in an intense battle. Miss Fortune hurled her yo-yo towards one of The Bubbler's bubbles, watching as it effortlessly pierced through the translucent surface, hurtling straight towards him.
Suddenly, Chat Noir entered, his staff colliding with the yo-yo mid-air, sending it soaring upwards. As the yo-yo disappeared into the sky, Chat Noir couldn't help but smirk. "Looks like I arrived just in the nick of time," he quipped, his voice filled with confidence.
Grateful for the unexpected assistance, The Bubbler expressed his gratitude. "Thanks a million, man," he said.
However, Miss Fortune's annoyance was palpable. "Ugh, Chat Noir had to show up too?" she grumbled, her irritation evident. Just as she voiced her frustration, the yo-yo came crashing down, landing squarely on her head. Wincing in pain, she instinctively rubbed the sore spot.
Miss Fortune grinned wickedly as she snatched up a roll of rogue wallpaper and darted around Chat Noir and the Bubbler at lightning speed. With a flourish, she unfurled the wallpaper, trapping the two heroes in its sticky embrace.
"Looks like you're in a bit of a bind, boys," she taunted, relishing in their helplessness. "Hand over your Miraculous, Chat, and maybe I'll consider letting you go."
"Never!" Chat spat back, though he couldn't deny the tightness of the wallpaper's grip. "And besides, I can't exactly give you my ring when I'm all tied up like this!"
Miss Fortune scowled, her powers amplified by the Miraculous as she effortlessly lifted both heroes into the air. With a swift leap, she perched atop the highest point of the Agreste mansion, securing the end of the wallpaper to the ledge and leaving Chat and the Bubbler dangling helplessly.
"Goodbye, boys," she sneered, waving mockingly as she swung away. "I've got a party to crash, after all."
"Do you think this wallpaper will hold?" The Bubbler asked, his voice filled with apprehension. Almost as if in response, the wallpaper began to peel away slightly from the ledge, causing them both to flinch in fear.
"I have an idea, but it might be a bit risky," Chat Noir said, attempting to maintain a calm demeanor.
"Well, it can't be any riskier than plummeting to our deaths!" The Bubbler exclaimed.
Taking a deep breath, Chat Noir turned his palms away from his body and pressed them firmly against the wallpaper that held them captive. With a surge of power, he summoned Cataclysm, causing the wallpaper to disintegrate and freeing them from its grasp. However, their newfound freedom came at a price as they found themselves falling through the air.
In a panic, The Bubbler frantically searched for the giant bubble wand strapped to his back. Finally managing to retrieve it, he swiftly pulled it out and created a massive bubble to encase them.
Both of them were left breathless, their hearts pounding in their chests. "I told you it was risky!" Chat Noir exclaimed, his ring emitting a beep. "We need to hurry. Can you control this bubble in any way?" he asked, his voice filled with urgency.
"Um, take us back to the party!" The Bubbler commanded, though it remained uncertain if his plea would be effective. Nevertheless, the bubble began to move faster, propelling them towards their destination
Scene: Agreste Mansion front.
Miss Fortune skims the scared partygoers.
"Aww, what's wrong, everyone? We can still have a party." Miss Fortune said mockingly at their fear. "Where is the birthday boy anyway?"
Just as she said that, The Bubbler and Chat Noir appear, standing confidently on a bubble.
"Know this isn't the expression but to love bursting your bubble, Miss Fortune!" The Bubbler said.
"Chat Noir!" Luka cheered. Alya followed suit "And uh..Bubble Boy!" she cheered, referring to the Bubbler. Soon all the teens start to cheer them on.
"Guess no one wants to party with you, Miss Fortune." Chat Noir taunted.
Miss Fortune let out a low growl as she leaped from one rooftop to another, her pursuers, Chat Noir and The Bubbler, hot on her heels. Determined to escape their clutches, she swung herself towards the Eiffel Tower. As she reached the landmark, she skillfully hurled her yo-yo towards her relentless chasers. The Bubbler and Chat Noir, undeterred, began their ascent up the towering structure, their determination unwavering.
Suddenly, Chat Noir's ring emitted a series of beeps, signaling that his time as a superhero was running out. Urgency filled his voice as he warned, "I'm going to switch back soon, we need to hurry."
"Unlucky Charm!" It bestowed her a formidable dual naginata. With a mischievous smirk, she brandished her newfound weapon, taunting the boys who dared to challenge her.
The Bubbler, undeterred by the odds, took a leap of faith and unleashed a flurry of bubbles towards Miss Fortune. However, true to her reputation, she skillfully wielded her dual naginata, effortlessly popping or evading each and every one of them.
"What is that thing?!" The Bubbler asked, bewildered.
"I don't know, but we need to be careful. That weapon looks like it could take out your bubbles!" Chat Noir warned, causing The Bubbler to nod in agreement.
"I got an idea!" Chat Noir said, he rushed forward. He extended his staff and hoped his lessons with Armand D'Argencourt, his fencing teacher, would come in clutch. "En garde, Miss Fortune!" Chat said.
Miss Fortune smirked and their weapons clashed. Chat Noir landed a few well-placed strikes before deftly evading Miss Fortune's dual-bladed assault.
Taking advantage of Miss Fortune's momentary distraction, the Bubbler seized the opportunity to unleash a barrage of bubbles upon her. These pesky orbs hindered her movements, forcing her to retreat momentarily in order to deal with them. However, Chat Noir swiftly reentered the fray, forcing Miss Fortune to divide her attention between him and the relentless onslaught of bubbles.
The climax of the battle arrived when Chat Noir landed a powerful blow, causing Miss Fortune to stumble backward. Sensing an opportunity, the Bubbler launched a bubble towards her. To her dismay, when Miss Fortune angrily popped it, it detonated with a surprising force, propelling her through the air. Although she managed to avoid a fall from the Eiffel Tower, the impact caused her to lose her grip on her naginata.
Once Miss Fortune regained her composure, she reached for the naginata, only to have it swiftly snatched away by Chat Noir, who stood alongside The Bubbler, both wearing triumphant smirks.
"I'll be taking that!" Chat said. "Your terror is over, Miss Fortune." With a flick of his wrist, he tossed her naginata high into the air.
"Miraculous Chat Noir!" he exclaimed, as he threw the Unlucky Charm (the naginata) into the air, unleashing its power to reverse all the damage caused.
"Pound it!" Chat Noir and The Bubbler said, pounding their fist together.
"Whatever!" Miss Fortune retorted, her voice filled with frustration. "That kid's party was a total bore anyway! Not even worth crashing! I'm outta here!" With that, she swung herself away from the Eiffel Tower.
Chat Noir and The Bubbler returned to the party, greeted by a chorus of grateful and joyous cheers.
"Thank you, Bubbler. This brings us one step closer to finally defeating Miss Fortune," Papillon expressed his gratitude.
With that, The Bubbler transformed back into Nino. A beautiful white butterfly emerged from Nino's bubble wand and gracefully fluttered away.
"Bye bye, butterfly." Chat Noir said to it.
"Thanks for helping." Chat said and was about to jump away when he was stopped.
"Wait! I know you have other superhero duties, but perhaps you could stay and celebrate as a token of appreciation for stopping Miss Fortune. I'm sure Adrien wouldn't mind. What do you say?" Nino extended the invitation.
Chat Noir felt touched by the gesture, but the beep of his ring reminded him otherwise. "I'm sorry, but I really must be on my way," he apologized. "Please wish Adrien a happy birthday for me!" With a grateful smile, he leaped away before jumping behind into his mansion via a secret door he installed he started upon becoming Chat Noir and detransformed into Adrien. He ran into the foyer and back outside to the party.
"Dude, it was insane! Miss Fortune showed up and started wreaking havoc, but then Papillon granted me these incredible bubble powers, and Chat Noir and I kicked Miss Fortune's behind! It was epic!" Nino excitedly recounted. "Oh, and he also wanted me to wish you a happy birthday!"
"Really? That's fantastic!" Adrien exclaimed, feigning astonishment.
"Now, let's keep the party going, everyone! We still have plenty of fun left to enjoy!" Nino declared, bounding back behind the DJ booth and cranking up the music.
The crowd erupted in cheers and resumed their lively dance, fully embracing the festive atmosphere once more.
Marinette seethed with frustration as she tidied up the 'fake her' from her bed.
"You can't escape forever, Chat Noir. And when I finally catch you, I'll make sure to crush you! I won't hesitate to crush anyone who dares to stand in my way!" Marinette muttered fiercely under her breath.
Sabine, concerned for her daughter, approached her. "What did you say, dear?" she inquired, checking up on her.
"Nothing, mom!" Marinette quickly fibbed, trying to hide her anger.
Sabine's voice softened as she tried to console her daughter. "I understand that you're still upset about not being invited to Adrien's birthday this year."
Marinette forced a bitter smile. "It's alright, Mom. I've decided that it's not worth holding onto my anger."
Sabine sighed sympathetically and pulled Marinette into a comforting embrace. "Oh, my dear. Maybe next year will be different."
Marinette let out a weary sigh but reciprocated the hug, finding solace in her mother's embrace.
Gabriel arrived back at the mansion. He walked past Nathalie.
"Hello, Mr. Agreste. He's in the dining room." Nathalie said, smiling slightly and gave Gabriel his gift to give to Adrien.
Adrien, engrossed in his meal, caught sight of his father and immediately abandoned his plate, rushing over to embrace him.
"Father! You made it!" Adrien exclaimed, his face lighting up with joy.
"I may have missed the party, I would never miss celebrating my own son's birthday," Gabriel replied, enveloping Adrien in a warm embrace.
As the sun set, Adrien strolled into his room, sporting a stunning handcrafted scarf gifted by his father. A yawn escaped his lips as he reminisced about the day's events. "It was a fantastic day, except for the unexpected visit from Miss Fortune," he exclaimed. "But this scarf is definitely one of the best gifts I've ever received!"
"What's the other gift?" Plagg asked. Adrien pulled out Luka's guitar pick necklace, blushing happily.
Plagg groaned "Why did I ask?"
Adrien sat down on his bed when he heard a faint rustling sound, his blush faded immediately. He got up to see a wrapped gift on his bed. To his surprise, he found a neatly wrapped gift lying on his bed.
"Wait, what?" he exclaimed, puzzled. He had no recollection of receiving this gift at the party.
As he picked up the gift, he noticed a sticky note attached to it that read 'Love, Marinette'. Plagg groaned in disapproval. "It's from that Stalker girl," he muttered.
Adrien rolled his eyes. "Marinette is not a stalker, Plagg. She's just a fan," he retorted. He carefully unwrapped the gift, revealing a scarf. However, it didn't look as well-crafted or creative as his father's scarf.
He shrugged and tossed it into his closet, knowing he would probably never wear it.
"Welp, time to get ready for bed." Adrien said and headed to the bathroom.
The following day, Adrien steps out of the sleek limousine, sporting his father's gift. "Hey there, girls." he greets Marinette and Alya.
Marinette's eyes widen as she realizes the scarf Adrien is wearing isn't hers. "Wait, that's not mine! Where's my scarf?!" she exclaims, shaking Alya in frustration.
Nino greets Adrien with a fist bump, while Luka compliments his cool accessory. "Your dad made that for you? That's awesome!"
Adrien beams with pride. "And after the amazing party you threw, Nino, this just made my day."
The boys turn to walk up the stairs.
"So, Adrien, it seems like your birthday brought you a couple of stylish additions." Luka remarked.
"You bet! And the best part is, I can rock my favorites both at the same time!" Adrien exclaimed, unveiling the scarf to reveal Luka's necklace. Luka's eyes widened in surprise before a gentle smile graced his face.
Alya offered her condolences to Marinette, "I'm sorry, girl. Maybe he decided not to wear it today."
Marinette forced a smile, her eye twitching slightly. "Yeah, maybe."
As the bell rang, they joined the boys in ascending the stairs and entering the school.
THE END
Second chapter finished. I should tell you all I'm not great at making fight scenes. I normally write some variation of the canon battle with the help of transcripts. I was originally planned for Marinette to go into Adrien's room to put her gift in. However, I decided not to, in case it sounded too similar to the eventual Chat Blanc chapter. So instead, Nathalie dropped it off in Adrien's room while Adrien and Gabriel were having father-son time.
Also it's very brief but I had Nino act bashfully to Marinette so when 'Animan' comes, his crush on her doesn't feel like it came out of nowhere.
