Rhomson had made it to the Eldin region. She looks down at the near by stable from the path that leads to a fallen citadel that now housed a map tower. The residents seemed to be going about their daily lives, yet at the same time there was an intent behind their movements.

Rhomson rubbed her chin. I should assume that they are not friendly. But I need fireproof elixirs to get further up the mountain.

She looked up Death Mountain, the intense heat waves show visible to even untrained eyes.

"This might be impossible without detection," Rhomson said to no one. "I can't go up that peak without a way to protect myself from the heat."

"Oh!" called out a voice. "You mean Fireproof elixirs?"

Rhomson quickly turned around to see a Hylian male with tan skin and brown hair. His blue pants, white shirt, and sandals dirtied from travel. Despite the very large backpack he carries, he did not look tired in the least.

"Who are you?" asked Rhomson.

"Oh! So you haven't heard of Beedle? Beedle is happy to enlighten customers like you. Beedle is a traveling merchant, selling wares to those in need to brighten these dark times."

Rhomson blinked. "I am guessing that you are Beedle?"

Beedle happily nodded. "Yes. Apologies for Beedle did not introduce himself."

"It's alright," Rhomson stated. "You said you have fireproof elixirs?"

Beedle reached up and pulled down a small tray. "Yes Beedle has that. Beedle buys and sells wares from all over to share resources from different regions."

"Well that is great. I need at least three of them. Do you have that much?"

Beedle brought out a notebook and began to flip through it. "Hm...yes yes. Beedle has three to sell. Six hundred and fifty for the set."

Rhomson's face paled. "Can...I take a rain check and pay you back?"

Beedle's face soured. "Oh no no no. That's not how business works."

"I can pay you back double in the future," Rhomson stated. "I am working directly underneath Chief Riju of the Gerudo on a very important mission."

"Many are working on an important mission," Beedle argued. "And Beedle needs to make living. Traveling on foot not easy to the many regions of Hyrule."

"Please," Rhomson pleaded. "I need them to rescue Link."

"Oh!" Beedle called out. "So you heard that he was kidnapped too?"

Rhomson face showed confusion. "What? How do you know?"

"News travels fast thanks to stables," Beedle replied. "Since Beedle mainly stops at stables, can get news quickly and often."

"Well it is the truth," Rhomson stated. "Gerudo warriors were hurt by the Gorons and they took Link by force."

Beedle shook his head. "Beedle knew Gorons were stubborn. Beedle thinks that this bad call. Need to rethink if want to spread Goron goods now."

"So you will help me?" asked Rhomson.

"How much do you have on you?" asked Beedle.

Rhomson checked her bag. "I have in total three hundred."

"Oh! Special deal just for you then, two hundred now for three bottles, and you pay back rest later."

Rhomson smiled. "Deal."

Rhomson handed over a four purple rupee's and Beedle gave her three bottles of Fireproof elixir with a note.

Beedle stored the rupee's in his back pack. "Beedle wishes you best of luck saving the hero."

"Thank you Beedle."

"Bye!"

Beedle continued walking southward.

Rhomson took a deep breath. Now I don't need to stop to the stable.

She headed down the road and followed it to the stable. She walked by and one of the workers waved.

"Hello there. Thinking about heading up to the city?"

Rhomson nodded. "Yes. I plan to get some of their spice."

"Trying a new recipe?"

"Yes I am," Rhomson replied.

"Well you are going to need some Fireproof Elixirs for the trek there and back. I am brewing some up right now, but it will take some time."

Rhomson forced a smile. "I am good thank you. I have enough to get there and back."

"Oh? You...bought some elsewhere?"

"A traveling merchant," Rhomson replied. "Sadly, he didn't have any Goron Spice but had Fireproof Elixirs so that I could make the journey."

Magda stepped out of the stable lodge. "It is a rarity these days. The Gorons are having a really difficult time with that Divine Beast."

"Same thing with other regions as well," Rhomson stated.

Magda shrugged. "Well except the Zora's. They have it the easiest. All they have to do is zap their Divine Beast with lightning and it stops for a bit."

"Lightning is very dangerous," said Rhomson. "After all, we Gerudo have to deal with it from our Divine Beast."

"True," Magda stated. "It is dangerous. But they don't handle the lightning. They get the Rito to do their dirty work. Their so called Champion can't even retake her Divine Beast. It's pathetic really."

Rhomson clicked her tongue. "I don't like what you are saying to someone who has protected this land for a century."

Magda wickedly smiled. "All because the Hylian Champion couldn't do his damn job."

Rhomson felt another presence to her side. She jumped back in time to avoid a spear thrust from Brigo.

Rhomson drew her scimitar. "Is this how you greet all of your guests?"

Brigo pointed his spear at Rhomson.

Magda shook her head. "Only troublesome guests like you."

Rhomson looked behind her. All of the stable workers stood behind her with a tool in each of their hands.

Rhomson scowled. "All of you are in on it."

A stable worker nodded. "That is right. We are tired of the raining fire from this Divine Beast."

"Exhausted from rebuilding parts that get destroyed."

"We can't even have our animals here due to them getting panicked and killed from debris."

"It's time that the so called hero actually does his job!"

Magda smiled. "We are all in agreement. Most of the stables agree with Gorons. So we knew about you Rhomson. I have to say, I'm disappointed that Riju only sent one mediocre warrior to come and attempt to rescue him."

"You will not insult Chief Riju!" Rhomson hissed.

"I just did," Magda stated. "And I will keep doing it too. What are you going to do about it?"

Rhomson gritted her teeth.

"I think I can defend myself," called out a voice.

Rhomson turned around to find Riju with her four guards. Rhomson noticed familiar paws standing behind them.

Rhomson smiled. "Chief!"

Riju smirked. "I see that we got here just in time. Now then, we have business to discuss with the Goron chief. Please hand over enough Fireproof Elixirs for us to make the journey, discuss, and return."

A stable worker shook their head. "No."

"As we just finished explaining to your vanguard," said Magda.

"I over heard," Riju interrupted. "Everyone in this kingdom is suffering. Zora's included."

Magda scowled. "Oh? You think those fish are having a tough time?"

"Everyone is," Riju replied. "And I don't have time to lecture someone like you. Either comply with what I have said, or move out of the way."

Brigo, Magda, and the other stable workers did not move.

Rhomson sprinted towards Riju.

"Chief Riju," Rhomson whispered. "I have the Slate. If I get it to Link, I can teleport us out of here."

Riju nodded.

A loud roar ripped through the air. Everybody turned their gaze toward the peak of the mountain to see the Divine Beast Vah Rudonia stomping around. Volcanic rocks began raining down towards the Goron city, the nearby mines, and some heading towards the stable.

"Take cover!" screamed Magda.

The people scattered as Rhomson fell back with Riju and her guard and Midna. Burning rocks fell with incredible force, kicking up a massive dust cloud.

Riju nudged Rhomson forward. She nodded and bolted into the cloud with Midna close behind.

Magda coughed. "Is everyone...okay?"

"I am," Brigo replied.

The dust cloud began to thin out. Riju and her guard were wiping off the dust.

"You see so called Chief?" asked Magda. "This is what people on this mountain have to deal with."

Riju's guard pointed their weapons at Magda.

Riju coughed. "I have...known about this for some time."

Riju cleared her throat as more of the cloud thinned out.

"Yet you plan to go along with whatever that failure of a champion plans for the hero," Magda stated. "When he should be training to fight the Calamity."

"Which is what he has been doing," Riju argued. "Just because you lot don't agree with it doesn't mean it is wrong. You are short sighted and selfish."

The cloud completely dissipated to reveal Magda's hateful glare at Riju. "Selfish? SELFISH?! We are doing this to save this kingdom that we love! So that we can finally live in peace and pursue our passions! To serve the royal family, whose last princess has been trapped in a cursed castle for one hundred years! We are being selfless!"

Riju smirked. "Then why don't you fight the Calamity yourself?"

"None of us can use the Blade of Evil's Bane!" screamed Magda. "Only the hero can. HE took the oath to protect our kingdom! HE is the only one who can wield it! HE needs to do his damn job!"

"Are you saying that you can't help by fighting the minions of the Calamity?" asked Riju. "That it has to be all on him. Puts a lot of unneeded pressure on him after all he has been through."

"He is the hero," Magda argued. "He can take anything that comes his way."

Riju shook her head. "You see, people like you just don't get it. You don't even try. Because you are selfish and short sighted.."

Brigo put a hand on Magda's shoulder. "She is riling you up on purpose. Calm yourself."

Magda took a long, deep breath and slowly exhaled. "You...are right Brigo. Thank you."

Brigo nodded.

"Nice try to get me to lower my guard," Magda stated. "But don't think that will work a second time."

Riju giggled. "Oh I wasn't trying to lower your guard. You just keep proving how short sighted you are."

Magda opened her mouth to speak but stopped. She glanced around the immediate vicinity.

"Your vanguard is missing," said Magda.

Riju nodded.

Magda scoffed. "So she ran up the mountain during the dust cloud? Not a problem. She still won't be able to get the hero off the mountain."

"Oh she will," Riju stated.

"No she won't," Magda replied. "The terrain is too difficult for them to leave any where else other than here. She doesn't have the heat resistant armor. She has minutes to get to the city, find the hero, and then escort him off Death Mountain while surrounded by Gorons. It is impossible."

Riju shook her head. "Oh it is possible."

"How?" asked Magda.

"You think I am really going to tell you?" Riju asked in reply.

Magda scoffed. "Well seeing how you are so confident, we'll just follow her and make it impossible."

Magda turned toward the stable workers. "After her quickly."

The stable workers quickly ran towards Death Mountain. Two of Riju's guards rushed past Magda and Brigo, and were able to block the path of the workers. With them, now out in the open, Midna snarled at the stable workers.

"What the?" Magda gasped.

Riju smiled. "Didn't notice the wolf at all? And thought just because I have only four guards with me that this was going to be easy?"

Magda turned and stared daggers at Riju.

"You must also thought nothing of us given what happened back at the desert," Riju continued. "A single Goron was able to knock out the hero, and then you were able to quietly sneak away with him. Don't get me wrong, Goron's are incredibly strong."

Riju returned Magda's glare. "But DO NOT underestimate the Gerudo! DO NOT think you can best some of our finest warriors just because one Goron beat up some novices! And DO NOT think you know what is best for someone who you don't even know!"

Magda and Brigo stand firm, ready to face Riju and her two guards while the stable workers rush towards Midna and the two Gerudo guards near her.

*Minutes before the eruption*

Link collapsed in the main square of Goron City, still garbed in the heat resistant armor. Sweating nearly flowing off of him, face marked with dirt and scratches.

"Get up," barked Pyle.

Link's arms shake as he tried to push himself up, but collapsed back down.

Bludo blew air out of his nose. "You heard him. Back on your feet."

The heat, the weight of the armor and weapon, Link's vision blurred.

The Goron's of the city watched, but looked unsure. When they first heard the hero was here to train, they were excited. Now...they were not sure.

Pyle walked over to Link and forced him to stand. "If I was the Calamity, you would be dead. Grab your weapon and go again."

Link tried to keep to his feet, force every ounce of power into them, yet he collapsed onto the ground yet again.

"We are getting no where with this," Bludo stated.

"That's enough!" Yunobo shouted.

He rushed past two guards and up to Link.

"What are you doing?" asked Bludo.

"He needs a break and water!" Yunobo shouted.

"He will get that when he actually hits Pyle," Bludo stated.

"This is torture!" Yunobo cried out. "You are driving him to exhaust himself to death!"

"We are training him to fight against the Calamity!" Bludo barked. "This is nothing compared to what that monstrosity will throw at him!"

"We don't know what that thing is fully capable of," Yunobo argued, "and here you are nearly killing the one person who could actually do something!"

The citizens of the city looked at each other, hearing the reason of Yunobo's words.

"You saw his performance just now," Pyle stated. "It wasn't good. It wasn't even an attempt. He needs to do better and we don't have time to coddle him."

"The Great Daruk trained twice as hard as this," said Bludo.

"Grandpa Daruk's training fits for a Goron because he was a Goron!" Yunobo screamed. "Link is a Hylian! The same training isn't going to work for him!"

"He is the hero!" Bludo barked. "He can do anything and take anything! That is what heroes do!"

"A child like you wouldn't understand," Pyle stated. "You haven't been out there to see the monsters wreck the land."

"I have been launching myself at the Divine Beast to drive it back," Yunobo replied. "While you were out there sabotaging the efforts of the others. No wonder Bargoh left when he saw that this so called cause was fractured."

Pyle scowled at Yunobo. He raised his weapon to strike him.

The whole mountain shook.

"ERUPTION!" a Goron guard shouted. "TAKE COVER!"

Boulders set aflame fell toward the city. The Goron's quickly took cover from the falling rocks. One was falling towards Link, who still couldn't move. Yunobo quickly stood above him, and slammed his fists together. Emerging from thin air, energy hexagons that enveloped Yunobo and Link.

"I got you Link!" Yunobo shouted.

Link rolled onto his back, and stared up at Yunobo. The energy surrounding him felt familiar, a strong but kind energy to shield those from harm.

The exhaustion really getting to Link, as he swore he saw Yunobo with more hair on his head and a beard.

"Dar...uk?" Link asked weakly.

His voice was lost in the chaos around him as he blacked out.

A memory came to him: Daruk shielding him onto of Vah Rudania from falling boulders.

"That was close," Daruk stated.

Link brushed off the dust. "Thanks for the save."

Daruk smiled. "No problem. Death Mountain has been acting like that for a little bit now. Could be a sign of the Calamity returning."

Link nodded. "Yeah. The other regions have had increased monster activity."

"Here as well," Daruk added. "Thankfully no Gorons have been killed, but it is a great concern. Trying to learn how to use this Divine Beast hasn't been easy either."

"It seems though you have the hang of it now," Link stated.

Daruk nodded. "I sure do. Patrolling Death Mountain has never been easier."

Both looked out into the landscape around them. With their elevation, they could see far across the lands of Hyrule.

Link smiled.

"How has been escorting Princess Zelda?" asked Daruk.

"Better than how it started," Link replied. "I think the journey really has helped. Seeing the land that you want to protect. Although getting her to relax at the right times is still a challenge."

Daruk nodded. "That is something you both have in common. Hard working. Speaking of which, how are YOU doing?"

Link sighed. "Exhausted."

"Have you had time to go and see Mipha?" asked Daruk.

Link shook his head.

Daruk placed a hand on his shoulder. "You two will be able to see each other again soon."

"I hope so," Link stated. "I miss her."

"I know that the feeling is mutual," Daruk said with a big smile.

Link returned the smile. "Thanks Daruk."

"Come now Brother," Daruk stated. "We are brothers and brothers have each others back. That has always been the Goron way."

"Right, Brother," Link replied.

The memory faded and Link found himself in a void.

"You are suffered at the hands of my people," a familiar voice called out to him. "On behalf of the Goron race, I am truly sorry Brother."

Link tried to focus on the voice. That voice...Daruk?

"The Gorons have always been stubborn," Daruk continued, "but this level is due to the corruption of the Calamity. Please come back when you are ready. I can wait."

Before Link could respond, he saw a red ball of energy in the void. It glowed brightly, refusing to go out. Slowly, purple and black flames emerged to try and consume it, yet the ball of energy refused to go out.

A shriek pierced Link's mind. A monstrous cry of a vile beast frustrated at the ball of energy refusing to go out. Then everything went dark.

Back at Death Mountain, a massive dust cloud covered the city.

"Pyle!" shouted Bludo. "Are you okay?!"

"Yes!" Pyle replied.

"Check on the hero!" Bludo called out. "Make sure he is alive! Guards! Check to see the damage to the city and the civilians!"

Pyle forced himself through the heavy dust, using his large hands like a fan to push the floating dust away.

Pyle looked around the small area he cleared. I could have sworn I saw Yunobo use his barrier. Where is the light of his barrier?

"Is the hero alive?!" shouted Bludo.

"I can't find him!" replied Pyle. "Same with Yunobo!"

Bludo's eyes widened. "Yunobo must be escaping with the hero! After them!"

Pyle scowled and rolled through the dust towards the gate of the city. He stood up and looked around, and spotted Yunobo riding down the path on a sheet of metal.

Pyle tucked into a ball and chased after them.

Yunobo held onto Link while sledding down the rocky path of Death Mountain. Link unconscious in his lap and used his hands to steer and build up speed.

"Got to get him off this mountain," Yunobo stated.

Yunobo looked behind to see that Pyle emerged out of the city gate and spotted him quickly. Yunobo began to push himself vigorously.

The path down Death Mountain wasn't too steep, most if not all the speed came from Yunobo. Pyle caught up quickly and tried to cut them off, but Yunobo punched a nearby boulder to force the sheet of metal to go around Pyle.

Pyle had to uncurl from his ball to change his course before rolling back after them. Yunobo continued to push forward, but the nearby mine was fast approaching, a lot of flat ground. Pyle rushed past them and blocked their path.

Yunobo scowled and slammed his fists into the ground, flinging the sheet metal into the air with himself and Link over Pyle. The miners nearby looked over at the display.

"Orders from Elder Bludo!" screamed Pyle. "Stop Yunobo and the hero!"

The miners looked confused, muttering about the hero being on Death Mountain. None of them knew.

Yunobo slammed back into the ground, making a small dust cloud, but Pyle rolled right through it and into Yunobo's back. Yunobo gritted his teeth and forced Pyle back with his barrier. He quickly picked up Link and ran.

Pyle got back to his feet. As he was about to tuck into a ball, a Goron miner stepped in front of him.

"How long as the hero been on the mountain?" asked the Goron.

"That Goron is trying to escape with the hero as we speak," Pyle replied. "Elder Bludo wants him stopped."

The Goron didn't budge.

"Didn't you hear me?!"

Yunobo looked back as he crossed a small bridge, but didn't stop moving.

"Why weren't we informed?" asked the Goron.

"Not your place!"

Pyle tried the move past him but the Goron stood in his way again.

"Out of the way!"

"No."

"What?!"

"I received word from awhile back from a friend of mine that you guys might be causing some trouble. The fact the we weren't told that hero was here, means that you forced him to be here right?"

Pyle scowled. "I don't have time to deal with you."

Pyle swung his weapon, which the Goron blocked with his pickaxe.

"Greyson is the name," the Goron spoke. "Not you."

Pyle tried to push through, but Greyson was just as strong.

Yunobo continued to run at a snail's pace. "Hang on Link, I'm getting you out of here."

There was a drop about thirty feet fast approaching. Yunobo didn't stop, and jumped off. He turned to land on his back and protect Link from the fall.

Yunobo slowly rose to his feet, and soon felt the ground shake as a volcanic rock rose from the ground.

"An Igneo Talus?!" Yunobo screamed. "This is bad!"

Meanwhile, Rhomson was sprinting through the heated area of Death Mountain. Holding the extra bottle of heat resistant elixir that she received from Midna, she couldn't help but smile.

Fire Keese flew down towards her. She somersaulted to the side and twirled past them, not even drawing her scimitar.

Flame Chuchu's leapt from the rock platforms above. Rhomson threw down her shield and slid down the path on it, avoiding the impacts of the Chuchu's and the small fire explosion afterwords.

"Almost like seal surfing back in the desert," she proclaimed.

There was a change in the winds, she looked ahead and saw a Octorok in the middle of the path, inhaling air and rock.

Before Rhomson could question what it was trying to do, it spat rocks engulfed in flames. Rhomson shifted her weight to move to the side and avoid the attack and blast that followed.

"Harder to go side to side though," she complained.

The Octorok began inhaling again. Rhomson thought about what she had available and brought out the Sheikah Slate.

"How did Link make this work?" she asked.

Another rock blast hurled towards her. She quickly moved to the other side, avoiding it again, but nearly losing her balance. She slid past the enemy and spotted a second Octorok.

"Oh stitches!" she screamed.

Both were now inhaling. Rhomson panicked put away the Slate, ducking low to increase her speed. Both attacks flew out and she was just outside the blast zone. She took out her scimitar as the second one began another inhale cycle.

"Fair well old friend," she spoke to the blade.

She flung it towards the second one, which flew into its mouth. The deep intake stopped, allowing her to slide past it without fear of an attack. Second later, she her metal clanging as the Octorok spat out the weapon.

Soon, she reached a flat spot of land and rolled off her shield, picking it up in the process. She rounded the bend to see a Igneo Talus rising up from the ground.

"Oh come on already!" she screamed.

The fiery Talus turned it's attention away from Rhomson and towards a nearby Goron, holding an unconscious Hylian in his arms.

"Link!" cried out Rhomson.

Yunobo looked over at Rhomson. "You need to get him out of here!"

The Igneo Talus raised his heated stone arm. Yunobo quickly activated his barrier as it slammed down into the barrier, and it held up.

Greyson leapt down from above on top of the Talus. He slammed his pick axe into an odd stone that stuck out on its back. The Talus stumbled away from Yunobo.

"I'll distract it!" Greyson shouted. "Get moving!"

Yunobo nodded and ran towards Rhomson; however, Pyle flew down from and slammed into Yunobo causing him to drop Link.

Rhomson rushed forward towards Link, but Pyle was closer.

"Get away from him!" Rhomson screamed.

The Talus slammed down, forcing Greyson off of its back, but thankfully in the direction of Pyle. He curled up and slammed into him.

Greyson stood up. "Hurry!"

Rhomson reached Link and quickly brought out the Slate.

"Stop!" Pyle demanded.

He rolled into a ball and nearly flew at Rhomson. Yunobo stepped in the path, not using his barrier, and heaved Pyle up. Pyle momentum carrying him further and slammed into the Igneo Talus.

Rhomson brought up the map and looked for the Weland Stable.

"How do you plan to get him out of here?" asked Yunobo.

"Just a few more seconds," Rhomson replied.

Pyle fell to the ground as Greyson climbed up the Talus' near volcanic body.

Rhomson found the stable, held onto Link and selected the destination.

She turned back towards Yunobo. "I'm glad to see not all Gorons are like Pyle. Thank you."

Link and Rhomson disappeared in blue light and flew into the sky.

Back down at the base of the mountain, Magda, Brigo, and the stable workers were all on the ground. Most were unconscious, the rest heavily breathing. Magda and Brigo struggled to their feet. Riju and her four guards stood tall and proud. Midna continued to snarl at her enemies.

"That...was a cheap shot," Magda said with heavy breaths.

"So was what you did," Riju said with a stone like expression. "It was tricky to make sure there wasn't friendly fire on my end, since I don't have full control of my abilities. As you can see though, still very effective."

Riju looked up and saw blue lights flying into the sky.

"With that, our mission was a success," Riju stated.

"What?!" shouted Magda.

"You didn't know that my vanguard had the Sheikah Slate?" asked Riju. "That is why we kept you all here, to buy time. All she needed to do was find him so that she could teleport away. You had the right idea to go after her, but not the skill to follow it through."

Magda chuckled. "You think this is a victory? The stables are in agreement with the Gorons. Now matter where he goes, we will be able to find him and make sure he does his job! The hero has to save this kingdom! He is the reason why things escalated to such a horrible state by failing! So many lives were lost! So much of the land was corrupted! So many flowers were extinguished!"

Riju sighed. "You are hopeless aren't you? Well I suppose there isn't anything I can do about that. Right now, Link's health is more important so we will be taking our leave. Please pass along the message to Elder Bludo, that I will be back to discuss how he can atone for what he has done."

Riju turned to leave with Midna and her four guards.

WwwwwwW

Rhomson and Link materialized outside the Shrine near the Wetland Stable, rain poured from the sky, instantly soaking the two.

"Better than the situation we were in ten seconds ago," Rhomson said to no one.

Her gaze turned to the near by marsh land.

Rhomson sighed. No weapon, Link is out, and a long path up to Zora's Domain.

She turned around to the entrance to the Shrine. "Maybe taking shelter inside is the best course of action."

"That won't be needed," spoke a voice.

Rhomson stood ready with a shield, but relaxed to see Bazz and six other Zora's approaching.

Rhomson collapsed to her knees. "Finally a friendly face."

"I didn't mean to startle you," Bazz stated. "Can you walk?"

Rhomson forced herself to her feet. "I'll managed."

Bazz nodded.

The other Zora's brought out a stretcher to carry Link in, it had Octorok balloons on the side to have it float in water. They strapped Link in and carried him off, two Zora's carrying him while four guarded.

Bazz waited for Rhomson to follow, she took a moment to enjoy the rain and sigh in relief. They had done it, Link was safe.
