"You want to WHAT!?" Evelyn shrieked. "I understand that you don't want this to happen!" Ashley stated. "Yes, mainly because I don't want my daughter to go out and get herself killed!" "But mom, you said that there are people out there who always want to make the world a better place, people like us!" Ashley reminded, "That was different Ashley, I want our family to help the community yes, but not by re-enacting comics, running around and fighting armed thugs like lunatics! That can easily end up in prison, aerogate or being killed!" "Yeah but—" "Ashley I'm not letting you do this! Period!" Ashley grunted as there seemed to be no reasoning with her, so she stomped her way to her room but not before turning around one last time. "You know dad used his gifts as much as mine." She stated before shutting the door. Evelyn turned to the family portrait of her, her daughter and her husband, and signed.
Ashley slammed the door behind her and threw herself onto the bed. "I finally have the power to help this city and my mom just outright denies it!" She yelled, before grabbing her photo of her family and looked at it in sadness. "… sorry dad…." She sighed. "I let you down…."
Meanwhile, in an unknown location, the terrorists were brought into the lair by two armed robots with moon symbols with two etches into them on their faces and chests. "Master!" One of the terrorists said nervously to the figure surrounded by shadows. "Your kindness to get us out of that situation is very much appreciated—" "Silence." The mastermind ordered in a slightly demonic voice. The terrorists did as he was instructed. "Do not mistake my actions for generosity, fisher!" The mastermind then grabbed a large double ended sickle staff and used it to lift his mask, he had green eyes, was balding and had a red beard. "You are lucky that you have such a high quality success record…" The mastermind continued. "But your friends… take them to my laboratory, NOW!" The robots then dragged the others away. "Fail me like that again fisher and you'll be joining them…."
Back at Whitlock manor, Evelyn stared at the photo of the family, then sighed, "Well Andre, if there a slight chance you're listening, we could really use your help, feels like every day Los Angeles, maybe even the state of California itself is falling apart in every shape and form and now our daughter has mutant powers and wants to use them to act out as a superhero… yeah I know what you'd say, 'sounds like a fighting spirit for her!' But if that's what she wants… then I'm willing to support her, it's time for this city to truly change for the better…."
The next morning, Ashley woke up and began her normal routine, washing up, getting dressed and eating breakfast with her mother, but just as she was about to leave, her mother stood upwards. "Ashley…" Evelyn began, as her daughter turned, "I know that you want to help this city with your new powers…" "And you said no." Ashley interrupted, "Let me finish, and I know that I said no but…." Evelyn took a deep breath. "I think you are right to use your powers for the greater good!" Ashley looked confused, "W-Wait… You were just saying that I'm not going to 'dress up and take on criminals', why the sudden change of heart?" "I remembered what you said about how your father used his talents to help LA… and I think he would be proud that you want to do the same!" Evelyn replied, Ashely smiled and hugged her mom. "Thanks…." "Now let's get you suited up!"
The next few weeks, Ashley and her mother began their new project. Evelyn had Ashley measured so that they knew what size the suit would be, then picked out the material, she eventually settled on a combination of spandex and hard plastic and wire. While Ashley had drawn up concept designs for her costume, almost all of which she scrapped… until she saw certain parts of the designs and decided to take each of the best parts and mixed them together. As they were doing that, they also began Ashley's training, from classic hand-to-hand combat and studying to utilizing her powers in combat, casting bolts of lightning with a blast of her hands, charging up for an electric punch, and performing an electric dash. Unfortunately things got nasty as it proved that using enough power can drain Ashley's energy and weaken her greatly, so they incorporated an energy component that would allow her to cast her electricity without damaging her body in the process.
But they knew that aside from having the powers of electricity she couldn't get super speed as well nor the ability to fly, much to Ashley's dismay, so they needed something that could help her get around faster without sweating buckets or passing out the moment she reached the scene.
So Evelyn had a team of scientists make a little something for Ashley. As Ashley was in the middle of creating her suit, she heard a knock at the door, turning, she saw her mother in the doorway. "Yeah mom?" Ashley asked, "I got something to help get you around faster and help defend yourself." Evelyn replied with something behind her back. "Even though I can basically shoot lightning out of my hands?" Ashley laughed, "Just being a little more careful with how you approach criminals!" Evelyn replied before revealing what was behind her back. "Here, I had some of my best workers make it!" Ashley then took the gift, it looked like some kind of electric blue cylindrical device. "So what is it? A flashlight?" She asked, confused, "press the button on the side of it…" Evelyn said slyly, Ashley did what was told and pressed a small button and a long string of electricity emerged from it. "Whoa!" Ashley said surprisedand out came a long electrified string that startled the mutant. "Uh… is this…?" Ashley asked hesitantly. "An electric whip? Indeed it is!" Evelyn replied smiling, "I don't know, isn't this a little… suggestive?" "Do you have any other ideas for a means of traveling around faster?" Ashley was about to speak before being cut off. "… that doesn't involve taking the bus?" She immediately closed her mouth, guess she had no choice.
By the end of the month, their creation was complete, the two looked at it with pride…
It was a blue suit with yellow lighting bolts on the chest and a plated outer layer with the core at the center and a yellow lighting bolts arrow on the abdomen and a small popped collar, the hips had a yellow lightning bolt like belt around it and a blue mini back skirt. The arms had black zigzag patterns on the upper parts and lightning yellow arm guards on the lower that ended in a pair of dark blue gloves with two lightning bolts on the back palms. The legs were dark blue with two yellow arrows on the knees and ended in a pair of light blue platform boots with lightning bolts on each side of them and yellow soles. And to top it all off, a light blue helmet with a yellow shade like visor with four lightning bolts across front one another, a pair of yellow headphones, and a vent on the back for Ashley's hair to flow.
"Now that's a superhero costume!" Ashley commented. "Now all that's left is the name… gotta be electricity themed obviously", she then began to think of any new names. "So how about… VOLTETE!" "Eh a little on the nose Ashley…." Evelyn replied, "Yeah that sounds kinda lame…." Ashley replied, before brainstorming more ideas. "How about… WIRELINE! Ugh that sounds awful! Think Ashley think… uh… ok how about thunderbolt? Na… wait of course! How about…. ELECTRONICA!" "Maybe lose the 'onic' part?" Evelyn suggested. "So just go for 'Electra?'" Ashley responded before realizing what she just said. "Hey… that ain't half bad!" She then turned to the costume. "Get ready Los Angeles, cuz there's a new hero in town, and her name's… ELECTRA!"
Later that night, the new mutant superhero swung through the streets of LA, searching for people to help and baddies to defeat. "I'm now officially a superhero! This is so awesome!" She cheered. "Just remember to focus, you're taking on a big responsibility here Ashley!" Evelyn said through a communicator in Electra's headphones. "Don't worry mom, I'll try not to let the power go to my head!" Electra replied before turning to something that caught her attention: a bunch of robbers dressed in black with ski masks and gloves currently breaking into an apartment complex. "I'm guessing they're not here to get their keys…." She said to herself before swinging to the criminal's location.
At the apartment complex, one of the thugs was currently trying to get into the apartment with a lockpick while the others kept watch for any cops. "Come on… dammit I thought I had it!" One of the thugs grunted. "Ugh! You're doing it wrong!" Another thug complained before his acquaintance turned, "Oh really huh? You try it then!" Suddenly another thug saw something on the rooftops racing towards the group. "Hey, what the hell's that?" One said before it landed in front of them in a superhero pose, it appeared to be a woman in a blue and yellow electric themed costume with blue hair. "Hello there, kind strangers, I'm going out on a limb here and say that you're doing something very illegal!" The woman said slyly. "Uh lady! A little early for Halloween aren't you?" One of the thugs said while the woman giggled, "Now there's an old saying, we can do this the easy way or the hard way, which one are you choosing?" The four thugs looked at one another before laughing. "Who's this sissy think she is? Some kind of superhero?" "Yeah actually, it's kinda my first day or in this case first night on the job!" The superhero replied, "This lady's crazy, it's best to put her down!" The thugs then proceeded to pull out their guns and began shooting. The superhero ducked under, dodging the bullets before standing up straight and pointing a pair of finger guns at them with what looked like sparks of electricity emitting from them. "My turn…." She said before firing at one of them and electrocuting him, knocking him to the ground. The other immediately dropped his gun and rushed toward her, only to be caught and hit in the stomach twice with an electric punch before laying him on a railing. Another pointed his gun in fear at the woman before she rushed over and roundhouse kicked him in the face knocking him out and against the wall. The superhero then pointed her finger gun at the last robber, who dropped his gun and raised his hands in fear. "Draw!" She said posing like she was in a western movie. "O-Ok lady! We surrender!" The thug said terrified. "There see? Wasn't that hard hard now was it?" The woman said calmly. "Who are you!? No WHAT are you!?" "I told you I'm a superhero!" The woman said, dropping her pose and laying her hand on the thug's shoulder. "And the name's Electra…." She then knocked the last thug out before turning to a camera on the side wall and giving it a wave before swinging away.
With the crime stopped and the baddies down, Electra went back to patrol, "Well a little BnE stopped and sent an anonymous text to the police." Evelyn said over the communicator, "Yeah, not bad for my first night out on patrol!" Electra replied. "Let's see what else is out there…."
By the time morning arrived, the mutant returned to her civilian identity as she woke up from a nice nap and went downstairs for her daily routine. "Ahh now that was a good night's sleep, who knew crime fighting could wear one out!" Ashley said to herself, before seeing her mother, "Ashley come quick! You're gonna wanna see this." She said before the two went to the living room and sat down on the couch. "Looks like someone made the news!" Evelyn chuckled before turning on the television where the news was on. "A sudden surprise for all of LA last night as a new vigilante took to the streets and prevented a bne." The news anchor said. "The aressties say that the vigilante appeared to admit electricity out from her hands and called herself: Electra!" The broadcast then turned to an interview with one of the robbers from last night. "This lady's nothing like you've ever seen before man!" The robber said, one minute she's just some girl dressed in a flash outfit and the next she's shooting lightning out of her hands! Took out my guys without lifting a finger!" The robber said frightened before it turned back to the news anchor. "Now while some people think that this is something out of science fiction, this security camera says otherwise." The news anchor said before turning to footage of last night from a bird's eye view angle. "Here you can see the break-in in progress before the vigilante jumps down and swiftly deals with them one by one before turning towards the camera and giving it a slight wave, meaning she knows she's on camera!" The news anchor continued as it changed to a bunch of interviews with different people. "My apartment was about to be ransacked if it wasn't for that Electra kid, she's a real hero in my heart!" "Maybe somebody's actually doing something about the crime in this city! If you ask me, this vigilante wants to clean up the trash in this city so more power to her!" "But some people see Electra as more of a threat than a hero." The News anchor continued before more interviews were shown. "This is just some kid dressed in a flashy suit and reading too many comics!" "She's more of a freak than a hero! I betcha she came from the circus!" "When asked about this Electra character, police chief Herman Connolly had this to say." It then turned to someone in a police chief outfit at a press conference with Curtis next to him. "This vigilante is all that the media is calling her: a vigilante, all she is doing is making herself known by taking the law into her own hands." He stated. Ashley scoffed at what he said. "Since when am I a glory hound?" "Just forget about him Ashley, people like him are always gonna see you as an enemy rather than an ally." Evelyn reassured.
But they weren't the only ones that were watching the broadcast as from an unknown location, the mysterious figure observed the same news story along with his minion, Floyd Fisher. "Ha! LAs got some spiderman wannabe running around shooting electricity out of her fingers! What will they think of next?" "I believe there's more to that than what might be seen." The figure responded. "So you're saying that she might be a mutant?" Floyd asked, confused. "Precisely…" "So you want me to find her and get a closer look?" "Right idea but not by you, phone in my best mercenary." "Wait, you don't mean… him… do you?" "Precisely…." Floyd gulped, knowing and dreading exactly what he was about to deal with.
A few weeks later as Electra continued to protect the city she started to give the cops a run for their money. At the police station chief Herman had a meeting with some of his best men. "Alright listen up everyone! This Electra character is number one on our priority, I want all units searching for her throughout the city." He announced, "costinteing, Rodrigo, I want you to look for her on the north and east sides, Lucas and Galloway check the south and West." Curtis and his partner, Henry Lucas, exited the room and went to their police cruiser. "Can you believe this? A vigilante in Los Angeles of all places!" Henry laughed, "What will they think of next?" "Well I'm surprised at the whole lightning thing she has." Curtis replied. "So where do you stand on her? Me, I think that she's more of a menace to society, if someone has electric powers like her, she's most likely some kind of Maniac that would electrocute people and even kill if she wanted." "I don't know Henry, I'm still on the fence…." Curtis replied as they began driving. "Maybe if we find her you can get a different option…."
Back at the lair, Floyd stood before his master. "Uh… b-boss, he's here…." He stated, terrified, before moving out the way for the Mastermind's mercenary:
It was a large green and yellow bellied reptilian humanoid with jaws of a crocodile, the spine of an iguana, the claws of a komodo dragon and the tail of a snake. It also had darker green mechanical armor with spiked wrist and ankle guards, a metal vest that wrapped around its neck and upper torso with a turret attached to it, a spiked belt and tail end, and finally a helmet that covered it's eyes with a red crossheirs and red slit for eyes.
"Reptile… it has been awhile…." The Mastermind said as the mercenary, Reptile, bowed before him. "Indeed it has, master…." Reptile replied in a raspy voice. "So what do you need me for this time? The Russians giving you a hard time again?" "No." The Mastermind then brought up an image of the superhero Electra taken from the news report. "This is the new superhero in Los Angeles, she calls herself: Electra." "So you want me to do what? Off her?" Reptile asked confused, "not yet, find Electra reptile, and bring her to me! Alive…." The Mastermind ordered, to which Reptile rose up. "As you wish master…."
Back with Electra, she swung through the streets on her daily patrol, so far it seems that the city was in a somewhat better state than usual. "Huh! I guess my superheroing really gave the crooks a message!" She said to herself. "I wouldn't be too comfortable with it Ashley!" Evelyn said over the communicator. "Speaking too soon can be a very bad thing!" "Relax mom I'm perfectly—" just as the superhero was about to finish her sentence, something ambushed her and knocked her to the nearest rooftop. When she got back up she looked up and saw her attacker, a giant human-reptile hybrid in dark green mechanical hunting armor. "Well well Electra I've heard a lot about you!" He said in a raspy voice. "A supervillain?!" Electra said surprised before turning around. "Ok Ashley you never fought a supervillain before, make a good impression!" She then turned around and pointed at the villain. "The only thing you'll be hearing is about the crooks that are in jail!" She yelled with determination. "Nailed it!" The villain just stared dead faced. "Right, now you're coming with me…." "Let me guess you're gonna say that we can do this the easy way or the hard way and we're gonna fight and I kick your scaley butt!" Electra interrupted before the villain stepped forward. "There is no easy way here kid, we can do this the quick way or the slow and agonizing way!" He threatened. "That just sounds like a fancier way of saying what I just said!" The villain only growled before charging at Electra, she immediately dodged it and retaliated with a couple shots of electricity. The villain blocked her shots with his arm guards and fired a laser mounted on one of them, Electra immediately ducked and charged before the villain did a tail swipe only for his opponent to jump and be arm thrown by him.
Electra got back on her feet. "Let me guess… ex-military?" She assumed. "Special tactics." The villain corrected. "The name's reptile by the way." "Aren't you from that fighting game? Immoral battle or was it immortal wombat?" The villain, reptile growled, "I am so gonna have your tongue on my wall when I'm through with you!" He then proceeded to shoot a couple of large rockets from his shoulder turret. Electra immediately dodged the rockets and deployed her whip and wrapped it around reptile's legs before tugging and tripping him.
At the same time Curtis and Henry had arrived at a building where they were called in by several people reporting a noise complaint. "Great, I go from hunting maniacs in Halloween costumes to responding to kids playing their music too loud." Curtis groaned. The two exited their car and went into the building.
Back to the fight, Electra and Reptile seemed to be at their limit, they soon charged at each other before the door burst open. "Alright what's going on here!? We have a noise complaint!" The two looked at each other in surprise. "Galloway?" Electra whispered before Reptile took his opportunity and deployed a cloud of smoke from his gauntlet. Within the scuffle of coughing and fighting, Reptile managed to grab something in a nearby bird seed bag and dashed away.
By the time the smoke cleared the only ones left were Electra and Curtis. "Ugh! Smells like a bunch of cigarettes went off at the same time!" Curtis coughed. "Tell me about it!" Electra added before Curtis realized who was in front of him. "You! You're under arrest for unlawful vigilantism!" he stated, pulling out his gun and aiming it at the vigilante. "Lucas cuff her!" The detective then realized something was off. "Lucas?" Both him and the vigilante then realized something bad. "Uh oh…."
Meanwhile, Reptile had successfully ran far enough from the battle, alongside his kidnapped victim, he set down his victim and raised his gauntlet. Suddenly his victim began to struggle. "Quiet you!" Reptile growled, thwaping his victim with his tail to shut him up. "Now where was I?" He then pressed a button on his gauntlet and displayed a holographic image of the Mastermind, showing only his black armor and silver glove. "Reptile, report." He ordered. "It took a bit, and the cops came but… I did manage to get Electra!" He reported, showing the victim. "What's with the bag?" The Mastermind asked, "Don't worry boss, here you… GO!" Reptile removed the bag only to discover that it wasn't Electra, but a brown haired man with green eyes and wearing a police uniform, the villain immediately realized this. "WHAT!?" "Is this some kind of joke…?" The Mastermind growled. "Oh! Forgive me master, it appears that I've made a mistake!" Reptile pleaded, "And do you have a plan to redeem yourself…?" The Mastermind demanded. "I can use this human for one thing… bait."
Back with Electra and Curtis, she had explained everything to what had happened. "So… that scarily monster was named Reptile and he basically tried to ambush you?" Curtis recapped. "Before you guys decided to barge in here and tried to shoot us, yeah." Electra replied. "But where did he even come from?" "Look you may be some new hotshot hero but you're still a vigilante to me and I've got orders from the chief to bring you in." "Whoa wait! You don't need to do that!" Electra hauled just as Curtis pulled out his gun. "One good f&*king reason. Fast." Curtis demanded. "We can help each other!" Electra answered. "Explain?" "Look, you need to get your partner back and I need to track down tall, dark and scaly, maybe if we work together we can get them both!" "And what makes you think that you and the walking conspiracy theory aren't working together?" "Did it look like we were in cahoots when you busted in?" "Touché."
"We'll meet up later tonight and we'll discuss what we'll do to find them, capish?" "Yeah, sure whatever." The two then left the rooftops, Curtis took the stairs while Electra swung off the building. "Are you sure you can trust him?" Evelyn asked wearily over the communicator. "He's my best way of catching this reptile guy, speaking of which you think you can pull any information on him?"
Back At the Whitlock estate, behind a bookshelf in the family library, laid a secret lair made for Ashley and Evelyn's new 'side project'. It was a bit of an average size with a training room, a space to keep her suit, and a large computer that was designed to list information about any crime and any info on a specific person or case and a table with a holographic map of all of LA. "Well, it's not like a batcave. But it'll do." Ashley said, observing the area. "While caves are very spacious I didn't want to risk our house sinking in the foundation." Evelyn explained before sitting down in a chair next to the computer. "I ran a background check on this Reptile character." She then typed on the computer and brought up several pieces of information regarding the supervillain. "From what I've read on his Craigslist page he's some kind of professional mercenary who often deals with super powerful and super dangerous characters, mob bosses, kingpins, terrorists, but aside from him being ex-military, there's nothing about his past, not even his real name." "So what's he want me for?" Ashley asked. "Someone probably hired him to take you out, making sure that the city is under their control or worse." Evelyn suggested. "Well I'm not gonna let that happen!" Ashley said determined. "Unfortunately we still don't know where he could be, he might as well be on the other side of LA for all we know!" Evelyn said, disappointed. "Maybe our new police friend can help." Ashley replied, remembering what she said to detective Galloway. "Are you really sure you can trust him? He works for chief Connolly, and as the news showed he's pretty much an anti Electra fan!" Evelyn said, worried. "Don't worry, first chance he tries to cuff me I'll be running like a jackrabbit." Ashley replied reassuringly before checking her watch. "I gotta go, don't wanna keep him waiting." She then got her suit on and went out the back door which led to the back of the manor.
That night, Atop the police station rooftop, Galloway was waiting for his so called 'friend' to arrive, while having a smoke to kill time. "You know those things will kill you, right?" Galloway turned around where the superhero was sitting on the railing, hair blowing in the wind. "In my kind of work it's either this or a gun." Galloway replied before tossing his bud on the ground and stepped on it to put out the flame. "So what do you have on scaly?" "Apparently he's a mercenary who deals in the big leagues, not to mention he's ex-special tactics." Electra explained. "So in short he's a fancy pants merc." Galloway recapped before his phone rang, he picked it up and saw that it was an unknown contact, he was hesitant but answered anyway. "Hello, who is this?" "You already know, detective." It was Reptile, the two turned to face each other before turning back to the phone. "What do you want, freakshow?" Curtis demanded, "To make a deal." Reptile answered, "Don't worry about your partner, he's fine… for now…." The voice next heard was Lucas'. "Galloway! This thing's got me held hostage! You gotta—agh!" "That's enough out of you!" Reptile growled. "Now if you want to see your precious partner again, you come to a warehouse at the docks at midnight. Alone, or I turn your partner into a trophy…." Reptile then hung up. "Well so much for you helping." Galloway said to Electra. "Who says I can't?" Electra objected, "I could sneak in and grab your partner, while you distract Reptile!" "Do you really think that's gonna work?" Curtis doubted. "Never hurts to try!" Curtis sighed, he was surely going to regret this.
Later on at the docs, Curtis parked his car at the warehouse where the supervillain resided. While he went inside via the front entrance, Electra went in from the top.
Inside Curtis was met with nothing but darkness, until the lights flashed on simultaneously causing Curtis to raise his hand in front of his face as his eyes adjusted to the light. The warehouse itself was mostly barren with metal barrels scattered here and there, on the upper floor however, Reptile stood in the middle of the building with his hostage next to him. "You're late." Reptile growled. "And here I thought I was going to have a new pelt…." "My watch is slow. Before you even breathe, show me that Henry's alive RIGHT NOW." Curtis demanded. "Fine!" Reptile then grabbed Henry and pulled him forward; he had been badly beaten, presumably because Reptile used him for his own enjoyment, sick bastred. "What do you want so badly you'd abduct a police officer huh?" Curtis demanded. "The superhero running around the city, Electra, she calls herself." "Yeah I've heard…." Curtis briefly looked and saw the aforementioned superhero, quietly getting close to the monstrous villain. "You know I did some digging on you." Curtis said, changing the subject to keep Reptile diverted. "You were a member of special tactics right?" Reptile took notice. "Well someone's done their homework. I can see why you're a well known detective!" "Thanks, but how about I get to know you a little better."
"Well I suppose it started a long time ago…" Reptile began. "Back when I was under the name of Leroy Hardy… I was involved in a mission in Iraq, apparently some terrorists got their grubby mitts on some bioweapon from some criminal billionaire. So naturally they sent a team of 5 to retrieve it. We eventually arrived and as you expect the place was heavily guarded, one shootout later and we finally saw what the terrorists were cooking up, a lab full of a lot of reptiles for experimentation, iguanas, snakes, hell even alligators. Reading the research notes, they were using a substance called 'Mutagen' to turn themselves into super reptilian terrorists, as if they weren't f&$ken monsters already. Some of them managed to find me and started raining bullets and that's when I learned that shootouts and laboratories don't mix. In the aftermath, I looked in the mirror, and I saw a monster looking back. I tried explaining what happened to my men but all they saw was a savage freak. For months I was alone, and from my pain, I decided that if the world saw me as a monster, I might as well live up to its expectations."
Electra had managed to hear everything, and couldn't help but feel some remorse. Reptile was pretty much turned into a monster unwillingly, almost just like her, not to mention that he basically was turned against by everyone around him after his accident. "Did you really think that plan of yours would work?" Reptile questioned before he grabbed his intruder by the leg with his tail and turned it to face him. "Nice to see you keep your end of the bargain detective, but since I told you to come alone and you refused…" He turned towards Henry and readied his claws. "I think I'll have that human pelt after all…." Just before Reptile could strike, Electra charged up enough electricity to harm the villain greatly and make him drop her, to which she landed on the floor before quickly pulling out her whip and grabbing him before pulling down stairs. But Reptile wasn't going down so easily, he pounced on Electra and the two tumbled outside the door. "I'll take care of him! You get your friend!" She hallowed before continuing her fight with Reptile.
"Now then, where were we?" Electra said, pulling off a boxer stance. "When I'm done with you… your helmet will be a trophy on my wall!" Reptile threatened before roaring like an animal.
!Boss incoming!
Cold blooded hunter!
REPTILE!
Reptile immediately charged for his abasary but Electra immediately dodged him before grabbing his tail with her whip and immediately swung him to the wall, only for him to stick to the wall and aim his rocket launcher. "Killer croc called he wants his look back!" Electra taunted. "Cute, let's see you get a laugh of this!" Reptile immediately fired his rockets at her, and Electra dodged them, Reptile then jumped off and the two traded blow for blow before Reptile managed to land a tail swipe, knocking her off her feet and punching her in the gut Electra quickly got up to try and started shooting blots of electricity but her foe guarded the attacks and countered with laser from his gauntlets and blasted her, knocking her back and hitting some of the barrels.
Electra was getting a run for her money, Reptile seemed to be tougher than she thought. She turned to see that one of the barrels was labeled "LIQUID NITROGEN", and an idea formed in her head. She then stood up and grabbed one of the liquid nitrogen barrels. "Hey ugly!" She yelled getting Reptile's attention before throwing the barrel towards her, to which Reptile blew it up with a missle, creating a cloud of vapor that scattered everywhere. "Did you really think you could take me out with a single…" Suddenly Reptile started freezing up and couldn't move, he covered his body with his arms in a vain attempt for warmth. "C-Can't… move!" Electra then strode up towards her foe. "Reptiles are cold blooded, no heat, no movement." She explained, smugly before tapping the villain and causing him to fall on his back. "Well my work is done here! Not to help out with Curtis!" "I d-don't think s-s-so…!" Reptile grunted as he readied his rocket launcher while his target's back was turned, only for it to get shot down by a bullet.
Boss defended!
"One of the most important rules of combat: always make sure your enemy is down for the count!" Said Curtis, revealing that he fired the gun that jammed the villain's rocket launcher, while carrying his ally. "Thanks for the save." Electra replied. "Guess I owe you one!" "Actually we're even, after all you did help get my partner back!" Curtis corrected. "So is he?" "He'll manage, but right now let's get this scaley freak."
A little while later the police van managed to contain the Reptile and drove away. "Well glad he's taken care of!" Electra said proudly. "Yeah, hey thanks again for helping out." Curtis thanked. "I guess you're not a bad person after all." Electra smiled under her mask. "Thanks well I gotta go!" Curtis then stopped Electra before she could swing away. "Just before you go, I gotta warn you, while I may be on your side, the others probably won't." "Got it! Till we meet again!" Electra then swung away with Curtis smiling proudly.
Back at the Whitlock estate, Ashley sat alone in the library with her thoughts. "Well tonight was surely eventful!" Ashley was snapped out by the sound of her mother's voice. "Something on your mind?" "It's just something about Reptile's backstory…." Ashley answered worriedly. "He mentioned that he was turned into the way he became what he is now because of some chemical called 'mutagen'. You think it was the same stuff that those terrorists used at the stage yesterday? The stuff that gave me my powers?" Evelyn then started to ponder herself. "If that's the case, does that mean that there are other mutants out there?" Ashley continued. "If so… who knows how many….
