Cuphead made Edwin some half birthday pancakes. He smiled slightly and ate them. Cuphead had now learned to accept Edwin's personality as it was. He couldn't really change him.

"I'm not throwing him a party. I think an outing would be better." Lucy says. Edwin smiled at this.

We cut to a montage of Lucy taking Edwin around town, getting gifts for him and taking him to his first poetry slam.

Edwin was nervous, but Lucy reassured him. Edwin smiled and began to read and he even won.

Later, Lucy took him to get his cake, but she left her wallet in the car.

"Wait here." Lucy says and the moment she came back she heard a crack.

She came in and saw Edwin's body had shattered. The cake was destroyed and his handle was smashed into bits.

Lucy got on her knees and began to scream. He was gone. The caterer was scared, like he had seen a ghost.

The ambulance came and sees the mess "Time of death, 6 p.m." one of them says as Lucy broke down hard. She vomited, feeling guilty.

Luke was livid. VERY livid. He was very angry at his daughter and couldn't look her in the eye.

"How could you?" Chalice asked. "Where's Jackson? Did you kill him, too?!"

Mugman entered with Jackson in a wheelchair. Jackson was cracked, but his handle was reattached, thanks to the successful reattachment surgery.

"He was almost cleared to compete, but Aria assaulted him." Margo says.

Lucy walked past Cuphead, looking empty and without emotions as she couldn't finish planning Luke's half birthday. Cuphead was in tears as well.

"I left my son alone for 2 minutes and just like that…he was gone! I'm a horrible mother!" Lucy sobbed as Cuphead held her close.

The next day, Lucy was trying to force herself out of bed for Luke, but she fell on the floor. Cuphead made her go back to bed.

Mugman was at therapy with Jackson. Jackson was recovering well.

Luke was looking for a mental hospital to send Aria to. He couldn't face Aria anymore. He couldn't believe she was a murderer.

Chalice forced Aria to pack her things once Luke found a suitable place. She couldn't look Aria in the eyes anymore. She just couldn't.

As soon as the mental hospital's transportation arrived, Aria was put in a straitjacket and led out of the house. They then took Aria far away.

"Luke…" Leni says, coming up to him.

"I can't believe she did that to Edwin. He was so innocent…" Luke says. "He didn't deserve that!"

"Listen, I'll work and see if I can make your half-birthday perfect." Leni says.

"Okay. But it's okay if it isn't. For once, I should be grateful for what I can get." Luke says.

"I don't think Lucy's coming. She blamed herself for it. She and Cuphead are going to get Edwin cremated that day and his ashes are going in some cross necklaces for the two of them." Leni says. "They say it's better this way."

"Makes sense. They loved him so much. And I loved him, too." Luke sniffed.

With Mugman, he held Jackson close. They then went to keep Cuphead company as he didn't want to be alone during this sorrowful time in his life.

Cuphead was sobbing and he was a mess. He had lost his only son.

Lynn arrived to see Lucy, who was in tears.

"Lucy, don't blame yourself. If there is anyone to blame, it's Aria. In a way, she's getting exactly what she deserves. No star treatment where she is." Lynn says.

Aria was in solitary confinement at the mental hospital. She sat in the padded room and looked down.

She felt so guilty. She had killed Edwin. Over what? Not getting her half birthday? Losing her career before adulthood? If she could, she'd go back and tell herself not to do what she did. But she knew she was getting exactly what she deserved here.

June 15th arrived. Luke went to breakfast with Lucy and Cuphead, then went with them to see the cremation of their son. The three of them were dressed in black. Once Edwin was cremated, the ashes were divided between two silver cross necklaces, which were then given to Cuphead and Lucy.

After that, a "funeral" lunch was held at a nice Riverwalk restaurant. Lucy and Cuphead were very sad, but accepted condolences from everyone they knew. Kettle sat with Cuphead while the funeral reception cake was being cut.

"Hey, Cuphead." Kettle says. "I'm sorry for your loss. I know Edwin was your pride and joy. And I know it's hard to lose the one thing that made you a lot happier."

"Yeah…" Cuphead sniffed as he held the cross charm of his necklace in his hands. "I have a piece of him with me now. I know he's in a better place. It's hurting right now, but I'll be all right."

"I know you will." Kettle says. "If you and Lucy want to stay in the cottage for a while, feel free to. I'll be around."

Cuphead hugged his father figure. "Thanks, Elder Kettle." He says.

Luke was sitting with Lucy, eating their share of the "funeral" cake.

"Are you okay, sis?" Luke asked her.

She sniffed.

"How can I be? My son is gone!" Lucy sobbed.

"I know." Luke says, holding a sobbing Lucy. This was a very morbid and sorrowful time for her. She was in a lot of emotional pain.

"So, what will you and Cuphead do after this?" Luke asked.

"We'll more than likely go through Edwin's things, then pack up our house and live with Kettle at the cottage in Inkwell until we're stable enough to find a decent place we can actually call our own." Lucy says.

"I think that's fair. I know this is hard for you. But I know you will get through this. You are the strongest lady I know." Luke says. "And I'll be around if you need anything. That's a promise."

Lucy hugged Luke for a while and smiled a bit. This felt nice.

Luke went back home after Edwin's "funeral". He saw the siblings had put a small party together for his half birthday, and was quite happy that they planned this for him.

There was his favorite cake, a few gifts, and some decorations Chalice had made with the help of a professional party planner. Luke was very happy about this.

Luke opens Leni's giftt, which was a golden watch. He likes it a lot.

He opened the other gifts, expressing delight and joy, thanking the designated givers of said gifts.

After that, they ate and talked for a while. And for the first time in a long time, Luke was happy to spend this day with his siblings.

Later, it was time to have the cake. Luke smiled at it. It was a blue velvet cake that said "Happy Half-Birthday, Luke! You're Halfway To 26!" Luke couldn't be happier. He saw the 25 and a half candles on his cake, all lit.

Everyone sang to Luke, who smiled widely. He then thought of his half-birthday wish.

He wished Jackson would recover, then he blew out all his candles and shared the cake with everyone.

After the party, Luke and the group paid Jackson a visit. Luke smiled at him.

Jackson smiled at Luke. Luke gave Jackson some of his cake and a polar bear in a Dirk Dangerous costume.

"For your birthday, we're going to make sure it's awesome!" Luke says to the little cup. Jackson smiled.

"Yes! It will be your 8th birthday!" Mugman says.

He nods and smiles. "Will there be cake? And presents? And a party at the skating rink?" Jackson asked.

"Of course!" Luke says. "Anything you want!"

With Lucy, she was at the cottage with Cuphead. They were going through Edwin's things. She sees his poems and tears up. He was so young. She wished she could have another chance to save Edwin or bring him back to life.

"There has to be a spell…" Lucy sniffed, looking through her book of spells.

Cuphead sniffed as he looked at the little pirate costume he made for Edwin when he was only two.

That night, Lucy was gathering ingredients as she was desperate to get Edwin back. She gathered all the stuff, then went off to try the spell.

"Please work…please work…" Lucy says.

The gothic cup appeared before her.

"Edwin!" Lucy says, but the Devil appeared.

"No, hold on just a minute…you can't just strike a bargain with the devil and walk away. I want something in return." The devil says.

Lucy froze. She knew 2 things could happen, either Edwin stayed dead or Cuphead died.

"You're cruel!" Lucy says.

"Hey, don't blame me, blame Aria." The Devil says before disappearing.

Lucy knew exactly what to do. It was time to show Aria what happens to spoiled starlets.

She teleports to where Aria is.

"Aunt Lucy?!" Aria asked, scared.

"You murdered Edwin all because you couldn't stand to share with him! Because you were too spoiled for your own good! Because all you wanted was to take him out so you'd have a day all to yourself and you'd get what you wanted!" Lucy shouted. "Stardom went straight to your head, and look where it made you end up!"

Aria was speechless.

"I'm trying to get my son back, but the devil wants Cuphead or Chalice's souls." Lucy says.

"He can have mine." Aria says. "I don't deserve to live after what I did to Edwin. I doubt my parents even want me, anyway."

Lucy froze at that. Sure, Aria made big mistakes, but she was a little girl.

"A-Are y-you sure?" Lucy asked Aria.

Aria nods. She didn't have any family left, anyway. They all turned on her after she killed Edwin. Even her own parents.

Lucy sighed. "Farewell, Aria." Lucy says and just like that, the deed was done.

Edwin ran to Lucy, sobbing. Lucy hugged her son.

"Edwin! You're alive!" Cuphead says and joins in the hug.

"You waited till my half-birthday to do this!" Luke screamed, realizing that he lost his full party because of the funeral. But at this point, it didn't matter. He had a party, which he did have to be grateful for.

"What happened?" Chalice asked.

"Let's just say you need to be better parents whenever you have another child." Lucy says with an icy glare.

Luke looks at the sleeping Desmond, who was only 3.

"Yeah, this was our fault this happened. We shouldn't have agreed to let Aria be on that show." Chalice says.

The end. Farewell, Aria.
