Chapter 2

Do You Believe In Love?

The things they do in high school. Things they want to do in life. St. Michael's is just like any other school. Girls fall in love with one another. Mai and Reo and all the other best couples are no exception. The day that Mai and Reo met the wonderful Kazumi, their world has changed. Both of them have fallen in love with the beautiful housewife, like how they fell in love with each other when they first met. The feeling of falling in love is a wonderful feeling for both of them.

However, they have come to realize not everyone has that feeling. Some say it's for the best to let things go. That's just how the honors student, Sumika Yano, a girl who has long dark hair and golden eyes, was doing to another student, Kohane Shimizu, a cute, busty girl with long pink hair tied in partial pig-tails. Kohane has been in love with Sumika for quite some time. She's been so in love with her, the other girls have seen it, including Mai and Reo. They know very well that Sumika would return her feelings because they look like a good pair. Sumika has been helping Kohane with her studies, hung out with her on some days and even texted each other. Kohane has been getting closer and closer to Sumika ever since.

Up until now, Kohane wants to confess her love to Sumika. She asked Mai and Reo for advice since they are one of the Best Couples in the entire school. While Reo didn't say much, Mai told her to outright say her feelings with all her heart. Reo did the same thing to Mai that one time and so Mai hopes Kohane can learn from this, too. Kohane accepted the advice and thanked them for their help.

However…when Kohane finally confessed her feelings to Sumika…it didn't go well. Mai found Kohane crying in the hallway after school that day. The adorable pinkette told her that Sumika rejected her. She had been in love with Sumika and ONLY Sumika. Her feelings won't change. Mai felt sorry for her and comforted her. Reo heard everything and wants to take matters in her own hands.

But Reo isn't the only one. The next day, Mai has confronted Sumika in the courtyard after trying to catch up to her. The black haired honors student turns around.

"Yes?" Sumika asks.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Yano-san?" Mai asks. "You didn't answer Shimazu-san's feelings. You walked away?"

Sumika sighs and turns away. "There's more to life than just high school. Kohane has to see that for herself."

"But…!" Mai takes a step forward, but is cut off.

"You're a good person, Sawaguchi," Sumika says. "I'm sure Kohane was thankful for your kindness. Be sure to keep on taking care of her for me."

"Wait…what are you saying!?" Mai says.

Sumika shakes her head and just walks away. Mai takes a step forward to come after her, but gets grabbed by Reo. Mai swiftly turns around to see the petite girl.

"I saw her," Reo says. "Kohane Shimizu was crying. She didn't look well."

"Reo…" Mai says.

"Go to Kohane," Reo says. "She needs someone to comfort her and you're the only one who can."

"Yes, but…what about you?" Mai asks.

"I'll be fine," Reo says. "I just…have some stuff I have to take care of. Just go, Mai."

Mai bites her lip, deciding on whether or not to stay and try to see what her girlfriend is up to, or do what she says. She chooses the second option and starts running off.

Images play in Reo's mind. Mostly of the beautiful Kazumi. She has fallen in love again…and has yet to confess her feelings. But…she has never admitted her feelings except to her girlfriend. She is sure that Mai has the same exact feelings as her. But…for Reo, Sumika doesn't seem to realize what love really is. She's just going to not say anything to poor Koharu? Make her cry like that? Reo is not the one to help anybody with their problems, but when it comes to love…that's where she has to step in.

She draws a wooden sword from her bag and lashes it out, making her fluffy hair sway. She turns around and grits her teeth. Time to get to serious business. She will literally knock some sense into Sumika even if she has to beat her up to get it through to her.

She slides open the door to Sumika's classroom, alerting the dark haired honors student.

"Sumika…YANOOOO!" Reo shouts.

"What is she doing here!?" one girl says.

"She's crazy mad!" another girl says.

Sumika just gives her a cold stare.

"I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!!!" Reo yells at the top of her lungs.

Sumika shrugs and stands up from her desk. "The little shrimp wants to pick a fight with me? Fine by me. I've been wanting to hit something anyways. Work was frustrating. Hey, kendo club member? Lend me your sword."

Reo wonders if it's the right thing to do. She's already here in this situation. There is no going back.

"RRRAAAAHHH!" Reo hops on a desk and hops on three of them before making a giant leap, raising her wooden sword.

Meanwhile*

Inside another classroom, Mai is hugging Kohane for comfort with some other girls around her. Mai is wondering what Reo is doing in the meantime. As if on cue, the door slides open and a girl calls out,

"Is Sawaguchi-san here!?" she says.

Everyone turns around

"Hurry! Reo-sama is…!"

Mai stands up, shocked.

Meanwhile*

Left and right go the wooden swords. Reo dodges another swing from Sumika and lunges forward. However, Sumika finds an opening and swings upward, knocking the sword out of Reo's hands.

"You stupid girl!" she shouts.

"YOU'RE the idiot!" Reo ducks from another swing and performs an uppercut to the chin, making Sumika drop her sword. The petite girl rushes in to punch her again, but gets grabbed by the shirt and then tossed overhead toward the desks.

Sumika pants heavily, brushing some hair from her face. But Reo hops to her feet and rushes in to punch her in the face and then the stomach and then knee her for good measure. She then shoves her to the floor and grabs her by the shirt.

"You chicken!" Reo yells. "You're a damn coward! You hurt Kohana Shimizu! You made her cry! You never thought about her feelings at all, did you!?" Angry tears sting her eyes. "This is…this is unacceptable! I'll never forgive you for this! Never!" She cocks a fist…only to get grabbed by Mai and quickly pulls her back.

"Stop it, Reo!" Mai grips on her girlfriend, backing her away.

Sumika struggles to her feet and starts to walk toward Reo, now that she's defenseless. But two other girls hold her by the arms to restrain her as well.

"LET GO!" Sumika shouts.

The girls who are watching start to worry. Sara, Nanami and Risa head over toward the classroom to notice the ruckus.

"Reo-chan!" Sara says.

"You chicken! Coward!" Reo shouts. "You're such a weakling who will never admit your true feelings!"

"At least I'm not a violent moron!" Sumika shoots back.

"That's better than you!" Reo yells. "It's too bad you don't believe in love! If you cannot accept Kohane's feelings, then just say it! Say it, damn it! NOW!"

BAM!

Sumika manages to shoot her school shoe at Reo's face to silence her. She lowers her foot and steps forward angrily, still being restrained by the two girls.

"What do YOU know about me!?" Sumika shouts. "You just think with your heart instead of your head! I've wanted to think that way myself!" Tears sting her eyes. "But….but Kohane…! I just cannot let myself fall for her! You see…if I said I loved her…she will sacrifice EVERYTHING for me! Her hopes…her dreams…! She will follow me without thinking about herself! That's the kind of person she is! And I…I…I DON'T WANT IT TO HAPPEN TO HER!"

The girls loosen their grip, leaving Sumika dropping down on the floor, sitting wariza pose. She starts to cry. Mai and Reo's expression soften at the sight of poor Sumika.

"I…I heard everything…!" Kohane says from the door. Sumika looks up in surprise. Tears sting the pinkette's eyes as she bows low. "So…so thank you, Sumika-chan! Thank you for everything!" She herself starts to sob.

Mai loosens her grip and Reo sinks down on the floor, too.

Later*

After what happened, some teachers got angry when they saw the mess. It happened so fast. While Sumika's wounds are recovering, it was revealed that she was leaving to go overseas to study abroad. The incident with Koharu was truly heartbreaking, especially when the cute pinkette went to say good-bye to her during her last day. Sumika appointed her the next class president soon after. As for Reo….she was suspended for 2 weeks.

Inside her apartment, Reo is in her night gown, having received an envelope from one of her classmates, telling her to write an apology letter to Sumika when she gets a chance. The address is written on there as well so that Reo will know where to send it.

Kazumi is inside her bedroom as well, having heard the news from Mai.

"What are you going to do now?" the young woman asks.

Reo hesitates, turning away. "That's… a very good question…" What IS she going to do for the time being? The only thing that's on her mind is confessing to Kazumi. But…how will she approach it? How is she going to say it? It will be no problem for Mai, but Reo however? She's starting to regret for lashing out at Sumika, but she couldn't help it. She's only trying to help poor Koharu.

Kazumi just smiles and pets the petite girl. "I'm sure you'll figure it out. Come to me when you do, okay?"

Reo just nods. Kazumi has a patience of a saint. She is glad to have Kazumi around like this.

"I'll…tell you when the time comes…" Reo says. "Thank you…f-for everything…"

"It's no problem, Reo-san," Kazumi says as she heads for the door. "You should get some sleep. Oh, and don't forget to write that letter, okay?"

"Um…would you mind if you look it over when I'm finished?" Reo asks.

"Certainly," Kazumi says. "We can edit it together and sent it. I'll come with you to the post office, okay?"

Reo nods. "That would be lovely."

Kazumi nods and then leaves the room, closing the door behind her. Reo falls silent before plopping down on her back on her bed, her fluffy hair fluttering at the movement. She just stares at the ceiling. She is having second or third thoughts on how to approach the confession route. She's the one who has a hard time admitting her true feelings after all.

"Why the hell is it so hard…?" Reo sighs heavily.

Sure Kazumi has her husband to love, but…if she doesn't act soon, Kazumi may divorce her husband and find another lover before her. He hasn't been satisfying her, as far as she has heard.

"Damn…I really need to be brave every once in a while…" Reo sighs again.

She has made up her mind: she WILL tell her true feelings to Kazumi sooner or later.

A/N: Am I the only one who thinks Reo is like Taiga Aisaka from "Toradora"? Crazy, isn't it? XD Hehe. This idea has been in my mind for a long time, basing it on Episode 16 of "Toradora". I WAS going to put in Kaede, but she already has a girlfriend, so that wouldn't work. So I went for OCs from a hentai doujin instead.

Also, yeah. I intended this to be a one-shot, but as I was writing, I didn't wanna go through so many steps into publishing another one-shot.

So I will make this a 3-part story. How does that sound? Hehe~
