August 15, 1993/Diagon Alley, London England
Harry looks at Malachi who just smiles reaching up to open up the bricks to Diagon Alley before they walk through between the two holding Marcus's hand. The soon-to-be first year seemed to be happy, and for some reason Harry could not pull himself to make the boy let go. Under his skin his magic softly purred. Happier than it had been in a long time.
"Malachi, where are we going?" Marcus asked, his brother.
"Mum's dress robes on high street, first I think." The young man replies, before he laughs. "You two almost look like you could be siblings."
Adeline studies them a moment as they move into the Alley, her eyes glancing between the two. "He's not wrong, you have the same high cheekbones, the same eye and hair color, that's interesting. As to where first Gringotts." The woman's fierce eyes hold Harry's as she lays a hand on his shoulder. "As we walk, we should talk about the Nobility. Marcus pay attention, there are more than a few at Oberon, so it's not just information Heir Potter needs to hear." The two boys nod, before she continues.
"Adrien could explain, but I'm the one who was raised in this." Harry shot a Look at Mr. Evans, in confusion, that Mrs. Evans seemed to pick up on. "I love Adrien, but he was not born of a ranked house, as the last of his Family he sacrificed a lot marrying me an heiress of Senior House. I've never regretted it, but I do fulfill the political responsibilities of the house, doubly so when the house rose to Aged with Malachi's birth."
She smiles at him, watching Father and son talk in front of them as Malachi and Mr. Evans guide them clearly through the people crowding the Alley. "The Nobility is divided into three distinct groups. The Lower, Mid and High Nobility, each set are vastly different for many, many reasons. Each rank of Nobility comes with duties and expectations, as well as a Title. But first we need to talk about land in the Wizarding World."
"Land?" Harry asks.
"Yes, Land. As a muggle raised wizard you have no doubt seen the various world and country maps, right?" Harry nods. "Well, Wizards have hidden from the muggles about a third of the British Isles. They are completely warded against muggles." She seems to smile at Harry and Marcus's wide eyes. "Not just in the isles but outside of it as well. This land is one of the three types of land we have in magical Britian, it is called warded land. The second type of land is Expanded land. Expanded land much like the Alley we stand in is land that is anchored to a single spot and magically created. The Doorways to these lands are magical in nature. While Hogwarts is an example of Warded Land, Diagon Alley would be an example of Expanded Land. If all the spells on Diagon Alley were to fail tomorrow the entirety of the road would fit, into that tiny alley behind the Leaky Cauldron."
"The last and final type of land in Albion is the Realms. While the Expanded Lands, use the judicious use spells and enchantments to expand small spaces into something much larger. They have limits. You can't expand a space more than e15 no matter how much power you put into the project any expanded space above that rate, is unstable and dangerous. Ideally that is still over 12 million times the size. But it does have limits. Limits for a Realm are different and is more fluid. The person creating the Realm can decide almost everything about the Realm. There are three types of livable Realms. Nevermore Realms, Space Realms, and Planetary Realms. Nevermore Realms are anchored into thoughts, and ideals, and held together by magic. As long as the thought or idea is believed the Nevermore realm exists. Accessing these realms is just a matter of both Invite or locating the doorway. Generally Portals can and will work to access them, though they can be tricky. Space Realms are similar but are anchored into a specific location of space. And are as expansive as space as well. With spaces as large as Planets within, the dwarves, elves, and Fae, have retreated to their Planetary Realms. Every Parcel of land in the Albion is divided up into hundreds. Every Noble house is assigned a number of hundreds by the crown to govern and protect. Personal Hundreds a house may do with as they wish, open it up to build a town, or a quidditch stadium, close it down as a nature preserve, the decision is up to the Head of House. Public Hundreds are required to be open to the public, the lord or Lady of the house is to develop something on the land, it can be as small as a village, or as big as a city. Each rank has a minimum required number of hundreds, and estates the house is responsible for, as well as the number of votes in the Wizengamot"
"Once a House has reached 50 generations the rank of Aged is given, at 55 generations the rank of Dated, and at 60 Traditional. Having the title of Knight, they are classified as the knightly houses, the title comes with, 1 seat in the Wizengamot, along with being given 3 private hundreds and 5 public hundreds with each succeeding rank. For example, House Evans is required as an Aged house to manage 3 private, and 5 public hundreds, if we were a Traditional House we would be required to manage 9 private and 15 public."
"The Elder Houses at 70 Generations, ancient at 80, and the Archaic at 90, are the Barony title's. They also with 1 seat in the Wizengamot. They also only are required an additional being given 3 private hundreds and 5 public hundreds with each succeeding rank."
"The Knightly, and Barony Houses are the lower Nobility of the Wizarding. A Solid divide exists between and the Mid nobility as due to the absence of a Monarch they only have the responsibility of their hundreds. Whereas among the Mid and High Nobility, many families have an assigned court or otherwise job or responsibility their house is responsible for. Because of this our House's magic is weaker, as they cannot draw on the family magics of the royal houses. For example, House Weasley is an Archaic House with 98 generations behind its name, has never been given a 'Noble Responsibility', as such their House Magics are quite strong. But when compared to House Malfoy an Antiquated House with 105 generations to their name who has been given a "Noble Responsibility' their House magic is almost half of the Malfoy Family."
"These stark differences have caused rifts. Not as large as the rifts between the Mid and High nobility but rifts regardless. The four titles of the Mid Nobility are Viscount, Castellan, Count, and Earl. Antiquated House's at 100 generations are Viscounts, as are the Antediluvian House's at 115 generations. At 130 generations the Most Elder Houses are Castellans, while at 145 generations the Most Ancient and at 160 generations Most Ancient are Count's. Most Antiquated Houses at 175 generations are Earl's. Viscounts are required to hold 24 public and 40 private hundreds; Castellans, 30 public, and 50 private hundreds; Counts, 36 public and 60 private hundreds; Earls 42 public and 70 private hundreds." Harry nodded as they entered the Bank.
Adeline asked the first open teller for the Evans and Potter account managers, whereupon they were asked to sit, that they would shortly be out. Once seated sends Mr. Evans, and Malachi on an errand before she continued.
"The High Noble's answer to three titles; Margrave, Marquess, and Duke. At 190 generations a house earns the rank of Most Antediluvian, at 205 they gain the rank of Utmost Elder. The title for both ranks is Margrave. They hold 51 private hundreds, and 75 public hundreds. Utmost Ancient is given at 220 generations and is given the title of Marquess. They hold a minimum of 60 private hundreds and a hundred private hundreds. The final High Noble title is of Duke is given to the ranks Utmost Archaic at 235 generations, Utmost Antiquated at 250 generations, and Utmost Antediluvian at 265 generations. They hold 69 private hundreds, and 115 public hundreds."
"When it comes to votes in the Wizengamot Low Noble houses have 1 vote, Mid Noble houses have 2 votes, and High Noble houses have 3 votes. House Potter is a Most Elder House, and that is the basic explanation of the Noble Houses." She explains, as a goblin approaches.
"Follow me." He commands.
"Basic?" Harry asks, looking more towards Adeline, as he and Marcus follow her through the halls of the Bank.
"Basic, most noble families have a title that follows. For example, yours, House Potter, is the Most Elder and Mastered House of Potter. The easiest secondary title to claim is Noble. It's given when the public hundreds under the command of the house consistently bring in an average tax revenue of G15,000. Most Noble consistently bring in an average tax revenue of G50,000, Utmost Noble consistently bring in an average tax revenue of G250,000, and Venerable consistently bring in an average tax revenue of G1,000,000."
"So, what does Mastered mean?" Harry asks, before a Goblin leads them through a door, into an inordinate office. Behind the desk are two Goblins, one sitting and one standing.
"Lady Evans," the standing goblin addresses, "how may Gringotts help you today?"
"I came for the documents we discussed last time we spoke; my family and I are in London for a few days before we head to France for a week. While in the Leaky Cauldron we ran into Heir Potter here, he seems a little lost about our world and his station in it. I thought speaking to his account manager would aid him in understanding that." The 2 goblins shared a look, before the one that had previously spoken, spoke again.
"I fine idea, Account Manager Grimshaw will speak with Heir Potter, while we speak of the Evans accounts. We will retreat to my office." With little room for refusal in the Goblin's words Lady Evans assured Harry she would be waiting in the Atrium for him when he was done, before she followed the Goblin out.
Having watched her leave Harry turned to face the Goblin behind the desk.
"Merry meet, Heir Potter." He addresses.
"Um, Merry meet." Harry responds, in slight nervousness.
The goblin tsks before taking a parchment from a stack at the corner of the grand desk, before he starts writing down something on it Harry can't read. "Before we go any farther in this discussion, we will perform a simple authentication right." Setting the parchment piece down, he moves the parchment and bowl that had been in front of him previously towards Harry. "The box to your right holds standard silver athame's, take one and place a single drop of blood onto the parchment." His long-nobbled finger points to one of the boxes closest to him.
Harry reaches forward and opens the latch on the box, before opening it. Inside are what appears to be finely crafted knives. Harry blinks before grabbing a random one, unsheathing one and pricking his finger allowing a single drop of blood onto the parchment in front of him. He blinks a moment as the drop seems to melt into the parchment. A moment later writing starts to appear.
Identity Test
Name: Hadar James Potter-Black (Longbottom)
Sire 1: James Fleamont Potter: March 27, 1960 – October 31, 1981
Sire 2: Sirius Orion Black: November 3, 1959 - Present
Mother: Lily Marie Evans: January 30, 1960 - October 31, 1981
Siblings:
Marcus Pheonix Potter-Black: September 30, 1981 – Present
Iris Cassieopia Potter-Black: September 30, 1981 – Present
Neville Franklin Longbottom (Potter-Bones): July 30, 1980 – Present
Harry read the parchment and read it again. "I have siblings?" He asks.
The goblin studies him for a long moment. "I am Grimshaw account manager for House Potter, and yes you have two younger siblings a set of twins." The goblin presses a gem on the side of the desk that lights up for a moment. "If I can have your focus for a moment, we have much to go over." With those words Harry focuses on the Goblin. "What has Mr. and Mrs. Evans covered?"
"Well, we talked a little about the government, the school system up to Hogwarts, power levels up to the Sorcerer Range, and the ranks of Families and Houses." Harry answered.
"Very little then." He picked up the parchment he had been writing on earlier, before tapping it as he set it within writing range on the left side of the books that had appeared in the center of the desk. "When a magical child is orphaned in the magical world, a list of things is checked to decide the child's placement. Firstly, the wills of the parents, if there are no will, or the wills do not decide placement, then the god parents are checked. If the godparents aren't available or none where named, then the child's remaining family is checked. If all avenues are exhausted then the child is placed into a registered home."
The goblin motions to Harry, "Your house is highborn. More specifically your house is of the rank Most Elder, as such if all avenues were exhausted you should have been placed in one of two places. With either your house's steward, or the highest rank house sworn in fealty to house Potter. When you were 3, House Abernath, your highest rank house sworn in fealty, recovered you from your muggle aunt's house. They registered your placement with the department of families and children, as was tradition. The placement by all the laws of the Nable families was both legal, and traditional, as the Wizengamot had sealed your parents' will, based on Dumbledore's word of it containing state secrets. Your Godfather was sent to Azkaban, and your godmother is a permanent resident of St. Mungo's. Your grandfather, due to the stress of the last six months of the war passed just a few weeks before your parent's death's, passed away from his lingering issues from the Dragon Pox he had contracted many years before. Your grandmother Euphemia had passed on from said Dragon Pox in 1975."
"3 days later the Wizengamot met, and Dumbledore revoked the right of house Potter's vassals to raise you. He sent you back to your muggle aunt and threatened the Lord's of House Potter's with Azkaban. The vassal Lords of House Potter had a choice. They could either fight Dumbledore over this breakage of some of the most sacred of Albion's laws, costing them power and prestige, or they could retreat, maintaining the power of the house and its vassals. The obvious choice to each of them was fighting, one thing held them back."
"My, siblings." Harry said mind reeling.
"Your siblings had been with Lord and Lady Abernath preparing for their naming ceremony the next morning. The godparent oath isn't taken until the child is six months old. The House's Vassal Lord's knew that only your parents, your godfather, and they themselves, knew of the twin's existence. The peace between the light and dark was still to new, and they had few they could trust. Your brother Marcus was placed with House Evans." Harry looked up suddenly connecting the dots. "Your sister was placed with, a similarly ranked house, to better hide them, should someone start to suspect something. As only the highest ranked fealty houses are aware that they exist, it was masked as a foster placement. Marcus has been moved twice and has been since adopted by Lord and Lady Evans. They have been informed that due to his status as a spare he cannot be blood or magically adopted by them."
"Adopted by Blood or Magic?" Harry asks confused.
"A ritual of adoption into the family house making it permanent, that adds the child to the line of succession. An example would be Neville Longbottom-Potter. A month after both of your births your father was named Neville's godfather, during the ceremony they performed the original rite of godparent naming. Included in the rite is an adoption by both blood and magic, as both of your parents were alive it was a simple matter of the two blood rituals being performed. As such Neville gained access to the bloodline gifts of house Potter, and the ability to call upon the family magics of house Potter. Your Godmother Alice Longbottom did the same, however as she had married into the house of Longbottom instead of being born into it, Frank Longbottom's blood and magic had to be added as well as her own, otherwise, it would have marked you as her child and added you to the family magics of her house."
"This was done for two reasons, the strengthening of the Potter Longbottom alliance for another generation, and to protect both of you, as both houses were being hunted by the Dark Lord. If the Ministry and the Wizengamot had followed their own laws in your placement you would never had gone to your muggle aunt. Between your parents' wills, your godparent bonds, and the Fealty bonds of House Potter, the list of magical parents that qualified for placement on those grounds alone, numbers well over a hundred."
"So, they didn't fight Dumbledore, because they were protecting Marcus and Iris." Harry asks to clarify things in his own mind.
"Partially, that and one other thing prevented them from pursuing it further." Grimshaw answers at Harry's look he continues. "Following the protocols of placement as the wills had been sealed, the first check would have been: Godfather, Godmother, immediate magical family, extended magical family, Godfather's House if Blood and/or magically adopted, Godmother's House if Blood and/or magically adopted, Steward, Vassal's, Fealty Lords. Do you see the issue?"
"I don't." Harry answers, the goblin seems to study him for a moment before his eyes go wide.
"You don't know?" Grimshaw says, anger, and contempt in his voice.
"Know what?" Harry asks incredulously, he thought they'd already gone over this.
The goblin's hand points to the Identity test sitting in front of Harry. Seeing harry not understanding he stands and points directly at his name Hadar James Potter-Black (Longbottom) "Hadar James Potter Black House Longbottom. House Longbottom to detonate the blood adoption by Alice Longbottom, If Sirius Black was merely your Godfather, with a blood and magic adoption like Lady Longbottom, it would say Black-Longbottom as you brothers says Potter-Bones. Yours says Potter Black in the name."
"I don't understand." Harry says, trying to think of why that would be in that Grishaw had explained.
"Your parents graduated in June of 1978, 3 months later James and Lily bonded, using a standard marriage bond. To the surprise of many; as marriage bonds had begun to fall out of favor, no matter the type. For a month things seemed fine, your father James, had entered Auror training in July, along with Sirius Black, your father's best friend, and 2nd cousin. Five months into Auror training near the end of his second month married, James's magic started having issues, by the 4th month your mother's magic was also having issues. In March of 1979, they were both hospitalized with grade 2 bond rejection."
"Bond rejection?" Harry interrupted.
"Remember your parents bonded magically, bond rejection is when for one reason or another the persons magic has rejected the bond. A bond causes two cores to synchronize, this makes conceiving children easier, the main goal of marriage in the Wizarding World. To this end the bond endeavors to maintain a certain amount of synchronization. However, in bond rejection one of two things happens. In grade 1 bond rejection, the bond cannot maintain synchronization between the involved parties due to magic incompatibility. This can be for many different reasons; the involved parties magic can be to off balance from one being significantly more powerful than the other."
"Like a level 11 marrying a level 7." Harry asks.
"Not quite. Level 0 is mundane, they have no magic, their power is also 0. Squibs have magic despite common misconceptions, but it is too weak to do anything. They are level 2, power wise, they are level 1 to 3.
"Lord Evans said it was a complex arithmetic formula." Harry says slightly confused.
"Partially, yes, functionally no. Figuring out where your core stands in the levels yes, that is a very complex formula, once the number is achieved however your Level is easily established, as it merely increases exponentially. Squibs are Level 2, they can hold from 1 to 19 joules of power. Savant Level 3 holds 20-54 joules of power. Hold this against say the Lumos spell, which takes 14 joules of magic to cast a very weak light, it will consume 1 additional joule of power from your core with each 10 minutes of light. However, whatever focus you are using will require magic as well basic focus rings have a simple use cost of 5, the lowest of any foci, but give no additional benefit, and can only channel core of up to 5000 joules of magic."
"In this case as the marriage bond itself requires, at least a core of 5000 joules to work, a lv 7 ranging from 403 joules to 1096 joules, cannot maintain the traditional marriage bond. No, in this case even a level 11's magic range of 22026 – 59873 would be fine so long as the magical range of their partner was not more than 20-30% stronger or weaker than their own. If you are lower Leveled in the 9-14 range that percentage can be even higher, though 20-30% is a good rule of thumb most follow."
"Now that isn't the only reason for a grade 1 bond rejection. It could be incompatibility of family magics. For example, though a family of Ward masters would have some difficulty bonding with Curse breakers, they would both have no issue marrying into a family of rune masters. Ward masters build wards, whereas Curse Breakers usually break them, even so provided they have enough rune masters married into the two lines it could very well possible, it just depends on the family magics. For that reason, families developing family magics in those areas, try to maintain affinities to runes. As such most houses maintain such affinities that will allow them that greater pool of marriage prospects. However, there is one divide that is pretty strict, and that few affinities, and can affect, and that would be the divide between families, who's magic is specifically geared to harm, and those who's family magics are geared to heal, such as House Black and House Pevensie."
"Then it could just come down to the affinities, and gifts the people in question inherited, class 1 bond rejection though not common, is not uncommon either. Class 2 is very uncommon, uncommon to the point that St. Mungo's was forced to call upon a goblin healer to verify that it was in fact a class 2 bond rejection your parents were going through."
"Class 2 bond rejection happens when the involved parties synchronize too deeply. It happens too rarely for the exact reasons why to be understood. Sibling marriage bonds, as rare as they are today, have a much greater chance of class 2 rejection, and house Black with so many in House marriages started having an issue with it forcing them to look outside of the house again. But beyond such instances, they've been so varied, and unconnected the reason is unclear."
"However, unlike Class 1 bond rejection, which can only be solved by divorce and the dissolution of the bond, class 2 bond rejection can be solved, and the bond saved. "
"How?" Harry asks, now very, confused.
"Adding a third. Triad and even Quad marriages are not illegal in the Wizarding World. Adding a third would be no hardship, the only difficulty in the decision was who the third would be."
"Sirius Black?" Harry said picturing the wanted signs up all over the Alley.
"Yes, however in this choice was another complication. Sirius Black, despite his mothers' actions and the assumptions of many others, was still Heir Black, as James Potter was Heir Potter. As such, with two heirships involved a decision had to be made about the line of succession. A decision that could not be made by two heirs, that was a decision that could only be made by the heads of House."
"In May of 1989 Lord Fleamont Potter, Lord Arcturus Black, and his son Orion Black met here in the bank to discuss the matter, along with the 3 in question. Perceiving Lily as a muggleborn Orion Black refused to consider the idea. After two hours of arguing about it, cooler heads prevailed, and Orion was forced to leave the meeting under a secrecy charm against speaking of what had been discussed. After his son had left the room Arcturus Black laid out his demands. Firstly, Lilly would have a linage test, not a Blood Inheritance test, a Linage, test, if within the most recent 10 generations she could prove either squib parentage or a magical family connection, Arcturus would allow for the triad to wed under a year and a day contract. If the bond proved viable, after the year and a day was completed, they could fully bond."
"Do you have said test?" Harry asks.
"The test was included in your parents' wills, as I was not the one that prepared the wills, nor the one to perform the linage test, I have never seen them, merely read the reports on said meeting, both the causes, and the outcome."
"So, the outcome was?" Harrys retorts.
"Positive, Arcturus, allowed the temporary bonding to commence. As such when Lily fell pregnant in late October or early November, the trial was a success. If the bond was still in a state of bond rejection, you would never have been conceived. As your parents were un a triad relationship, you were born with two fathers, and a mother. Hence the name Potter-Black. Bond Rejection usually takes almost a year to overcome, and the bonding didn't happen until August with everything happening with the war. Meaning you were quite a surprise, one not declared in the arrangement decided upon by the two Lords. At the time Arcturus still had a spare in Sirius's brother Regulas, as such the contract stated the first child born, of the fully bonded couple would be born a Potter, if a boy Heir Potter, the second if the potter heir had been produced, would be a Black, and if a son Heir Black, with every child born after being primarily named for the house magic that they took after the most. Though a legal bond, the year and a day contract does not necessitate a full bond, as such both yourself, Marcus, and Iris, were born Potters, as twins cannot hold two separate names in this manner. The next child would have been Heir Black, as you are Heir Potter, and Marcus is the spare heir."
"As both your third father, and your named godfather, as it was decided the triad bonding would not be announced until after the war, In the line of placement house Black would have as much right as House Black under the Family search, and doubly so under the Steward, Vassal's, Fealty Lords categories. House Black is also older than House Potter by several generations, as such with the death of Regulas Black without issue, a case could be made that House Black had the stronger claim."
"And that's a bad thing?" Harry asked warily.
"House Black was very divided in the Blood war. The oldest members of the house Black took no side in the war. Orion Black's generation though not marked, where all known supporters. Of your father's generation he was the only one not thought to be a member of the Dark Lord's followers, the death eaters. However, when your parents went into hiding in February of 1981, they used the fidelis charm. The charm hides the secret, whether it be location, idea, or person, in the heart of another person, that person so named the secret keeper, is the only person able to tell the secret. Unless Voldemort was told the secret by the secret keeper he could have been standing on your roof, and not known where he was. Sirius Black was assumed to be the secret keeper and sent to Azkaban for that and the death of twelve muggles, and another wizard Peter Pettigrew."
"As such most of the Fealty Lords, and Vassals of House Potter, could not be certain of your safety, furthermore, through marriage to your father's cousin Narcissa Lucius Malfoy, could claim greatest right, as he was married, to the only blood Black, not over 100 years old, or in Azkaban."
"I see." Harry answers sitting back in his seat.
"Though Gringotts has many questions over the veracity of the charges against Lord Apparent Black, that is that status quo."
"Questions, regarding what?" Harry asks. The goblin smiles, a toothy thing that is more than a little unnerving to the 13-year-old.
"There are many inconsistencies in the Black case. The first issue being that according to the ledgers of house Black, with the death of Lord Arcturus Black in 1991, Sirius Orion Black is Lord Apparent of House Black. By the laws of Albion, a convicted felon cannot inherit a Lordship. The second issue is that Peter Pettigrew's accounts are still marked as active. The third issue that though a letter freezing the accounts of Sirius Black was issued in 1981, no trial transcript was delivered, and the freeze was ended after 90 days."
"That's a lot." Harry responds as he parses through the information. "Wait, are you saying he never had a trial."
"Not that Gringotts has been given proof of, though that's hardly the most damning piece of evidence against the ministry byline."
"What is?"
"You are." The goblin retorts. "You are Sirius's heir; family magic would not have allowed Heir Black to betray his own son. He would have been stripped of the name, and magic of the house if he had, furthermore, when the three married in August 1981, they used the olde bonding ritual. By using the Olde Magic, Sirius Black would have been stripped of his magic for the betrayal of both his husband and wife, that left the two dead. If one of three best friends of James Potter betrayed James, it had to Remus Lupin, or Peter Pettigrew."
"That's a lot of information." Harry says. "Is there anything I can do to help him if he's innocent."
"At the moment no." Grimshaw answers. "You are underage, as you are 13 you can if you wish claim the heir rings, of house Black, and House Potter. As the wills were sealed by the Wizengamot, with the permission of either Regent Potter, Sirius Black, or your magical guardian, of which you have none assigned, you could file for legal emancipation when you turn 16. As an emancipated minor you would be able to not only unseal your parents will but also access the documents of the bonding contract and the proof of bonding in the house vaults."
"House vaults?"
Grimshaw levels Harry with a look. "What do you know of the base economy of the Wizarding World?"
"Not much. I'm starting to feel like I've been kept pretty ignorant."
"It is good of you to realize such, through such you can endeavor to learn what yo0u have been kept ignorant of. When it comes to finances the Wizarding World is both behind and ahead of our muggle counterparts. In the muggle UK the median income is approximately 19,000 pounds. That is approximately G3,800."
"Gringotts has several different vault types and layers. Our most often used vault is the Personal or Base Vault (think Harry's vault in HPPS) costing G2 a quarter, and is open to the usage of anyone, for any reason. Next, we have the Roomed Vault, subsiding of three single adjoining personal vaults costing G50. (Think of Harry's vault in HPPS but with archways leading into additional rooms). The main room usually holds gold, while the other two usually hold artifacts, and keepsakes. The roomed vault can be expanded to hold a maximum of 7 additional rooms for an additional G20 each quarter."
"So, for G190 you can have vault constating of one main room and 9 side rooms." Harry clarifies.
"That is correct." Grimshaw answers. "These are our basic vaults. They have standard rates, but the transactions in them are not managed by Gringotts. For judicial purposes we do monitor and keep a ledger for the account but any accounting services or such, must be handled by the contractor. Gringotts does however offer several Vault Packages, wherein other financial services, such as an account manager are included."
"Our Family package consist of a basic 3 room Roomed vault called a Cadet Vault and 2 linked personal vaults."
"Linked?" Harry asks, curious.
"Linked vaults are not physically joined to the main vault but are financially joined via a ledger to the main vault. They have their own ledger, but all transactions using those vaults are also recorded in the master ledger, they are paid for by the main vault." At Harry's not Grimshaw continues."
"The Family package can have up to 8 additional personal vaults added for a fee, the 3 room Cadet vault can also be expanded up to five rooms for an additional fee. The Package comes with access to a Jr. account manager, 1 ledger for each linked vault, a ledger for the Cadet vault, and 1 master ledger. The cost of basic Family Package is G95 quarterly, fully maxed out it is $366 Quarterly."
"The House Packages are slightly more varied. The base package consists of the following:
1 – 3 or 5 Roomed Vault called the Main Vault that is twice the size of the regular roomed Vaults.
2 – Base Vaults linked directly into the Main Vault
2 – Cadet Vaults linked to the Main Vault
8 – Base Vaults 4 linked into each of the Cadet Vaults
For additional fees, the Main vaults can be expanded to either 5 or 10 rooms. The Cadet vaults can also be expanded to either 5 or 10. To 5 for the 3 roomed, and 10 for the 5 roomed vaults. Additional base vaults can also be added quantity depending on if you chose the 3 or 5 option."
"Much like the House Option the Noble package varies, We have the two main vault types 3 roomed or 5 roomed, the other option, is physical or ledger only Super Main. Mainly focusing on the option of having a physical Super Main Vault or having it just be in ledger format. The price difference can be considerable long term."
"The Noble Vaults Package comes with:
1 – 3 or 5 roomed Super Main Vault, twice the size of the regular Main vaults.
3 – 3 or 5 Roomed Vault called the Main Vault that is twice the size of the regular roomed Vaults.
6 – Cadet Vaults linked to the Main Vault
15 – Base Vaults linked directly into the Main Vault
25 – Base Vaults 5 linked into each of the Cadet Vaults
8 – 3 Roomed Vaults set up for Hundred Management
24 – Base Vaults linked to the Hundred Vaults
"It's extensive. Harry comments.
"The price tag is also extensive. The base cost of the 3 Roomed Super Main is G2,635 quarterly. It is also expandable with each Super able to be maxed out to 5 or 10 rooms respectively. Along with various other extensions. Fully maxed out the 3 Roomed option is G130,000, while it's 5- room counter is just shy of G600,000."
"That's a rather large difference." Harry surmises.
"There is a significant difference the 3 roomed option only allows a maximum of 125 Base vaults linked into the main, and 3,125 base vaults can be linked into the 500 optional Cadet Vaults."
