This is the final chapter of the Prodigal Sons mini book, the crossover with Zane Williams concludes with this! It's been fun, and I've really enjoyed it. I hope you all have to!

(Matt's POV)

"Hyperion?"

Zane, myself and the Titan of Golden Light stood on half blood hill, staring each other down. Zane identified his old nemesis, and all I could do was widened my eyes in shock.

Zane nodded, not taking his eyes off Hyperion. "Yeah, you probably saw in my memories, but I fought this guy a couple of years ago."

Hyperion chuckled. The titan himself was very powerful, slightly more so than both myself and Zane combined. He stood a monstrous ten feet tall, donning golden Greek armor and a hoplite helmet, designed with a line of long bristles. His aura surrounded him, it was a bright yellow, and it gave off an intense heat, it's warmth even I could feel.

"Fought?" Hyperion said, responding to Zane's words. "From what I remember, Zane Williams, I nearly killed you in our first round, and in the second, you barely walked away with your life. All the while I was weakened tremendously. I wouldn't count that fight as one of your feats."

I racked my brain and thought about it, and...yeah, I think I did see a quick flash of Zane battling Hyperion, a much younger version of himself and a weaker version of the Titan.

Zane gritted his teeth, I could feel in his emotions that he wasn't very confident in fighting Hyperion, but I could sense an underlying excitement all the same.

"I've grown a little since then, Hyperion." He said, then smirked, "Killed your friend recently."

Hyperion scoffed, "Atlas? Hmph, from what I heard he toyed with you and your friends the entire time, and you got lucky with that cursed material. If the fool hadn't played around, he could've wiped you off the face of the Earth, but Atlas never was the smartest of us. That trait belongs to me, after Kronos of course."

I had never faced Atlas, so I wasn't sure exactly what his aura felt like, or even what the Titan hierarchy was. With the gods, it goes the Big Three, the rest of the Olympians, then the minor gods. With titans...well, Kronos was obviously the leader, then I guessed Atlas was the right hand, and after that I wasn't sure. Maybe Hyperion was the third strongest. I couldn't imagine him at his full power, or Atlas for that matter, if the one right now in front of us was still weakened a bit.

I decided to speak up, "So what? You're here to get revenge?"

Hyperion looked at me for the first time, and I instantly felt the intensity wash over me. I stayed firm though, and my stare didn't waver.

"Hmm, so you've made a new friend, have you Zane?" He said, "And he's strong too. What's your name, demigod?"

I wasn't from this universe, and I'd never even met the Hyperion from mine, so it made sense that he didn't know who I was.

"Matt Beckett, Son of Hercules."

He nodded, "Hercules? Interesting. As for your question, I am here partly yes, for revenge. While I was weakened at the time, I still should've been able to dominate this puny son of Zeus, let alone as a twelve year old. I was...humiliated, and Lord Kronos was disappointed." His huge aura flared a little, and although his eyes were lit with golden fire, I could see his glare. "But that will not happen again. I won't let that cursed material touch me, and even with your new friend, you don't stand a chance."

Zane's aura peaked, his blue aura brightened. I decided to release all I had too.

"We'll see about that." Zane growled, "Matt, you know what to do."

I nodded, "Got it."

Hyperion laughed, and hefted his spear, "Give it your best. One wrong move, and you're both dead."

With that, we launched off the ground towards the Titan. Right away we both swung our weapons at his head. Hyperion's speed was going to be a problem, and his battle prowess. Off the bat I could tell that he was far more skilled than both of us. I was just hoping our combined might would be enough.

Turns out it wouldn't. If Atlas was the brute that used strength, Hyperion was the strategist that used skill.

Zane's swipe with his weapon, Thymos, was immediately blocked and thrown to the side by Hyperion's spear. The Titan dodged my blow simultaneously, and left me stumbling forward.

"You can do better than that." He taunted without emotion.

I turned around quickly and attempted to slam my elbow in his face, he pressed his palm against my side and with a simple burst of heat, I skidded dozens of meters away on the ground.

I groaned, feeling the sting of heat against where he pressed. I normally couldn't feel heat, even at extreme temperatures, but this was different. This heat was far stronger than any I'd felt.

"Let's go again!" I said, and Zane heard me. We both charged the titan, and the exchange felt like it lasted an hour, but in reality, it lasted about ten seconds.

Zane and I used our weapons relentlessly, I swiped and swung with Viribus, while Zane jabbed and did the same with his Morningstar. Hyperion deflected and parried our strikes, each clash creating shockwaves and powerful bursts. We couldn't seem to land a hit, but we were pushing Hyperion back, down the hill.

Hyperion's face was neutral, or it seemed neutral, like I said, I can't really tell. He looks like a knight outlined in golden fire, so no signs of skin or any facial features gave anything away. I could feel his emotions though, and what I felt right now was utter confidence.

He disappeared with a flash and I felt his aura reappear behind us, but we couldn't act on anything, as he was too quick. I felt an intense force on my back, and a throb of pain shoot up it. The same thing happened to Zane, and we both were knocked off balance.

We turned around and found Hyperion jabbing his spear directly at us, we both managed to dodge and return a counterattack. Zane swiped with Thymos, the Heavenly Diamond being Hyperion's main concern, he focused on it more than me. That was fine, because I had other plans.

I gripped Viribus as tight as I could and the sweet spot connected with Hyperion's jaw, sending his head to the side in recoil.

"Nice!" Zane said, smirking at me, and quickly summoned a lightning bolt to follow up my assault. A powerful bright blue cylinder left my new friend's body and connected with the Titan, causing him to groan and his aura to dissipate momentarily.

"Keep going!" Zane said, and just like that, we worked well together. I dove in, closing the distance, and barrel rolled right under Hyperion's chin. I quickly brought the edge of Viribus to it, and it cracked his head upwards, his chin facing the sky. I saw a drop of ichor escape his lip.

Zane fired another bolt to the Titan, and it hit true, shocking his core more. I bashed Viribus again, and again. This continued for a few seconds.

Finally, Hyperion got enraged, his emotions clear that he was no longer messing around. He released a surge of aura and effectively stopped our attack. I was forced back to stand next to Zane, who had been shocked as well. Hyperion recovered and shook his head, seething at us.

We looked around at the new destruction we'd caused. There were craters in the ground, some of the trees were nearly knocked out of their roots, and the lake nearby looked like it had been dug out by a massive backhoe. This wasn't good, I didn't want this Camp to become like ours.

"Matt!" I heard someone say, and I looked to the source to find black clothes and hair. Harper.

Talon and Zane's Percy were standing next to her, their faces angry and ready to battle. But for some reason...I knew that wasn't a good idea. This was a fight for me and Zane, this had to be done by the two of us. I couldn't exactly explain why, but having Talon and Percy help, while it was smart, and actually very stupid to refuse their help, I just...felt compelled to keep it between the three of us. Zane and this monster clearly had some malice between each other, maybe that was it.

"It's fine!" I yelled back, trying to keep my voice level and brave. "We've got it!"

Alternate Percy looked to Zane, knowing that he didn't take orders from me, I understood. Zane was the guy he'd fought side by side with, and from the memories I saw, the two were like brothers, even though they were actually cousins, if you count the godly side, but...we don't usually count that side, since the whole family tree would probably ruin like every single romantic relationship in camp due to the sheer weirdness- oh, you know what, just forget it.

Zane assured him, "He's right, we can handle this!"

Hyperion chuckled, "Can you? Heh, we've only just begun, I wouldn't get so cocky."

"You're the one bleeding, bitch." Zane taunted.

And of course, Hyperion simply enveloped himself in more of his golden light, and just like that, he was healed. His bloody lip gone.

"You had to say something, didn't you?" I scolded Zane.

He shrugged, "What can I say, I talk shit. It's just the way I operate."

Hyperion practically grinned, and raised his index and middle finger, both outlined in light and fire. "We'll see how much talk you have once we enter a different realm. I'm tired of this boring Camp setting. How about something more...my style."

Zane and I only raised our eyebrows in confusion. What was he talking about? Zane looked just as confused as I was, so apparently Hyperion didn't pull this last time the two fought.

The Golden Titan snapped his fingers, and like the blink of an eye, or the switch of a light, we were in a completely different world it seemed. Instead of summer day, the green grass, trees, and Camp, we were greeted to...hell.

At least, it looked like hell, or the middle of the sun. All that surrounded us was pillars of fire, brimstone, and any other hot material. Lakes of fire and lava sat everywhere across the bright wasteland. The sun was in the air, but strangely...all that surrounded it was night. It was the weirdest thing, like the sun was solely focusing on our showdown, and nothing else, causing the rest of the area to be dark.

I looked around, and noticed sweat brimming from my eyebrow, the droplet hitting my eyeball and causing me to blink several times.

"What the hell?" I said, wiping surprisingly a handful of the perspiration from my forehead. Okay, I shouldn't be sweating like this, but then again, this world...it had to be extremely hot, much hotter than magma.

Zane was breaking a few drops too, blowing one from his nose in annoyance, but letting the rest sit on his face. His long hair soon became damp, within a matter of seconds.

"Wow, you really are strong, Son of Hercules." Hyperion said, slightly impressed, "and Zane, you definitely have improved. Had this been you in our first fight, you would've suffered either a heat stroke, or simply melted on the spot."

Zane took in a breath, "Fuck it's hot in here. How are you doing this, Hyperion?!"

The titan spun his spear around absentmindedly, and it could've been my imagination, but the tip of it was...glowing brighter, and getting even more powerful it seemed, like it was feeding off of this weird light energy we stood in.

"What you are standing in, is a pocket dimension. My own, in fact. You see, I used a rather small amount of my power to create this terrain, but the heat is a culmination of my full might in this state. That's why you are experiencing this."

I couldn't even wrap my head around it. Pocket dimension? Hyperion could do something like that? Jeez...how strong was this guy?

But in a way, besides the heat, this was an opportunity to use our fullest power and not have to worry about the destruction of Camp. While the temperature could be a hindrance, we still had a better chance.

I willed myself to stand straighter, "Ignore the heat, Zane. We can go all out now."

Zane seemed to agree with this, and I felt his resolve rise. "True that. What do you say we fry him in his own world?"

Hyperion laughed yet again and got in a stance, quickly spinning his spear and placing it in a stabbing position. "Come then."

I used Viribus to manipulate the Earth, surprisingly able to do so here. The red ground beneath us crumbled and rose up, slamming into Hyperion. He didn't budge, and only with a simple swipe of his spear, the rock wall shattered.

But that wasn't the intention, I was trying to distract him. I jumped up from the ground and gripped Viribus with both hands, bringing it behind my head, like I was playing the test of strength game at a carnival.

Hyperion looked up at me and aimed his spear. A golden jet of light shot from the tip and barely missed me, while I continued to descend. Zane closed the distance from his side and swept his leg with Thymos, the dangerous material not doing any real damage, but knocking him off balance.

I took my chance, and brought down with all my power, the end of the Adam Tree club. Hyperion was quick though, and at speeds beyond light, he spun around and kicked Zane in the chest, knocking him back into a pillar of the fire. I didn't even look to see where he'd went, I continued my attempt.

But Hyperion hadn't forgotten about me, he gripped the spear and slammed it into my side, catching me on the way down with it's greater reach. I was thrown to the side and sent straight into a pillar of fire.

The heat was intense, and I felt burning sensations all over my body. The temperature was so hot, that it felt like I had been doused with cold water, but in reality, it was the shock in my body.

I yelled in pain and immediately shot out from the pillar, landing on my feet next to Hyperion, twenty feet away. Zane had done the same, and stood parallel to me, his body riddled with burn marks.

I looked down to myself, and saw the same thing. My eyes widened, and I knew what I had to do.

I touched Viribus to my arm, and like the best healing potion in the world, Zeus's aura spread throughout my burnt skin, healing it to a near instant.

Zane healed himself too, a natural factor imbedded in his lightning, just like Malachi. We both stood, our respective forms around us, and faced the Titan to go for more.

He simply sighed, "So you can heal too? Good. I was about to say that was far too easy."

"Bastard." I heard Zane growl, even from over here. The son of Zeus flashed away and reappeared behind Hyperion, trying to stab him with the spikes of his Morningstar, but Hyperion turned around just as fast, and knocked Thymos from his hand, it clanged on the ground.

Hyperion grabbed Zane's leg and slung him over his head, slamming my friend to the red, burning rock below, cratering it and causing underlying magma to seep out.

"Let him go!" I shouted, and reappeared at Hyperion's leg, hitting the soft spot behind the kneecap with Viribus.

He fell to one knee and grunted. I went for another strike, but he used Zane as a demigod shield and on accident, Viribus hit him clean in the face, blood fell from his nose.

Hyperion swatted Viribus away from my grasp, and I felt my hands vibrate with pain. I couldn't even have prevented it, it was too strong. He grabbed my face and roared, throwing me in the air.

I ragdolled afterwards, simply in disbelief at the way he was manhandling us. Right after he threw me, I felt Zane collide with my chest, his back to it. Hyperion had thrown him into me, the force of it sent us both flying back into the red ground.

We rolled and skidded, eventually laying on our sides and panting for some fresh air. This heat was so intense, it was even causing us to nearly pass out. Zane slammed his fist against the rock and attempted to push himself up.

Hyperion stalked towards us, and to my horror, he had sheathed his spear on his back, and was now carrying Viribus and Thymos in his hands, looking at them like precious gems.

"Such powerful weapons, wasted on brats like you. Come on Zane, I thought you killed Atlas with this? Where's that power now? And Son of Hercules, the Adam Tree? Surely you pack a better blow than that. It has the power of a primordial and the king of the gods after all."

We both felt rage pour through our systems, I knew Zane was pissed off, seeing Hyperion gloat and hold his weapon. I had to admit, I was boiling, figuratively, myself, and well, literally too.

"Put my weapon down, you son of a bitch." Zane growled.

Hyperion ignored him and admired Thymos, "I heard this material erases mortal souls from existence. It would be a shame if I were to...I don't know, accidentally hit one of your special friends?"

His suggestive tone sent Zane over the edge, and his face contorted with rage, his eyes glowed a bright blue. "LET IT GO, BASTARD!"

Hyperion returned the vigor, "I'll let it go! On your skull!" He jumped up and slammed Thymos on Zane, but surprisingly, instead of seeing my new friend's soul erased, he had...blocked the blow.

His blue aura had stopped Thymos from hitting him, he'd blocked it like a wall. Hyperion's emotions indicated that he was in shock. He struggled against the barrier, but wasn't successful.

"H-How?" He said.

Zane grinned, "I'll take that back, if you don't mind." He connected his knuckles to the Titan's chin, and forced him backward. Both weapons flew from his hand.

I dove forward and grabbed Viribus, not wanting to allow him to regain his senses. I thrust Viribus forward and hit his gut, I could feel the edge of the club practically split his rib cage open. Ichor flew from his mouth, and he groaned in pain, doubling over.

I quickly stepped around him and wrapped my arms around his stomach as far as I could reach, pouring all of my strength into it, I managed to lock my fingers together.

"You know I killed your friend, Krios. Hurt him bad by using this." I said, and gripped as hard as I could, using my biceps to crush his midsection.

The titan tried for a snarky retort, but I was pushing with immense pressure, and I could hear his immortal ribs crack and break, he howled in agony.

"Zane!" I called, and the Son of Zeus was there. A roar of rage escaped him, loud and dangerous, before he unleashed fury on Hyperion. He bashed and punched his helmet, denting it and crumpling it, all the meanwhile I rearranged his insides with my iron grip.

Finally Zane stopped his assault, and I knew what that meant. I thrust up with my legs and lifted Hyperion a few inches off the ground, but it was enough. I slammed him to the red rock, turning just in time to put my weight into it. I'd never done Judo or Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, but I probably looked pretty good right there.

More ichor left his body, and he grunted in frustration. Both Zane and I brought our fists beside our heads, ready to pop his like a rotten fruit.

"RAGHH!" Hyperion yelled, and a burst of golden light surged from him, knocking us backwards several meters. The Titan stood up, angry and bloody.

"Enough of this!" He shouted, and to my surprise, he grabbed the disfigured hoplite helmet on his head, and tore it off, throwing it to the ground.

Both Zane and I widened our eyes, looking at the nearly human looking Titan in front of us.

I saw human loosely, but now, without the helmet, he looked a lot like...Luke. Or at least, the pictures I'd seen of Luke. He had medium length blonde hair, brighter than Malachi's, and it was messy, falling to either side of his face. He had ichor dripping from his nose and mouth, and his skin was still outlined in light, his eyes glowed, but he looked a lot more normal than before. Besides him being ten feet tall, you could've mistook him for a prince with fire powers.

Zane groaned, "Why does he have to be handsome? Can't at least one of my enemies be ugly?"

I turned to him like he had three heads. He was seriously thinking about that right now? And he was wrong too.

"Dude, all you fought in that first year were ugly monsters. And he literally looks like Luke. Are you...calling Luke handsome?"

I could've swore Zane's ears turned red, but it could've been from the heat, "I mean, I hate him...but I guess. Ah it doesn't matter! We gotta end this before he ends us!"

"Agreed." I said, "But how? He's more powerful."

Zane spun Thymos and glared at Hyperion, who was glaring right back at us, not attacking. "I got a little plan. I'm gonna distract him while you charge up that..." The son of Zeus groaned, but I could see the smile creeping up on his face, "Red Beam Cannon. Once you get enough power to kill him, we'll use it."

Sounded good to me, but how would Zane keep him that long?

He read my mind, "Don't worry about me. Just charge that thing!" He jumped into action, and the Titan was mad. Zane shot a flurry of lightning bolts at him, and Hyperion met each blast with his own golden light, all of them materializing from the spear.

I immediately took my shot. I redid Viribus into a necklace, and closed my hands together, forming a circle with my palms. I concentrated on the energy around me, the energy of light. It belonged to Hyperion. He wasn't closing it off, I could gather it.

I felt it with my sense, and quicker than usual, I latched on to it. I was getting better at this. Hyperion felt what I was trying to do, he stopped and looked at me.

"You're stealing my energy?" He said, like he couldn't believe it, "But how?! That should be imposs-" He was cut off by Zane punching him in the side, nearly crumpling his stomach in. Hyperion slashed the spear at Zane's head, and even from here I saw a couple of strands get cut off. That was close.

Red light burst from my palms and started to erupt, it whirred with power and made a noise similar to what I would imagine a UFO sounded like. As I drew energy from Hyperion, he got weaker, and the cannon got stronger.

"NO!" Hyperion shouted, "I won't let you!" He took me by surprise, and threw Zane off of him. The son of Zeus tried to hit him with Thymos, but Hyperion shot a golden blast from his spear, and hit Zane in the chest, knocking him out of view.

I gritted my teeth, and saw him coming at me. The sight was fairly intimidating. Titans were basically gods, but more sinister, and right now, there was no difference. Man, it was like one of the big three coming at me, and he was weakened right now...

Yeah, best we beat this guy here and now.

I jumped out of the way, my hands still in place and the cannon not dispersed, barely dodging his spear slamming into the ground. I saw in my peripheral a nuclear sized cloud of dust billowing.

I turned and saw that he was already in front of me again, and I couldn't defend myself.

I brought his knee up to my hands, and knocked them aside, dispersing the Cannon. The Red aura dissipated everywhere, a good bit of energy already stored up in it, it shot everywhere like individual missiles.

Hyperion grabbed my chestplate and lifted me off the ground, I gripped his arm uselessly.

"I don't know how the hell you're able to do that, boy." He said, his eyes going from royal gold to hateful gold very quick. Had I not been in my Red Aura form, I probably would've been atomized by his sheer stare. "But that's quite the dangerous ability, I can't let you do that again."

He headbutted me in the nose, I felt an intense throb shoot up my nervous system, and I felt him go for another one. I blindly took my hands off his wrists and thrusts them upward, breaking his grip.

"Stay still!" He said, and stabbed his spear at me, it managed to knick my shoulder, and I felt horrible pain follow it. The spear was very dangerous, and as soon as the sharp end made contact with my skin, a searing heat spread throughout my body.

He grinned wickedly and stabbed again, I managed to use my wrist armor to keep the heat away from me, I knocked the tip aside, again and again, using my arms to keep myself alive. He kept stabbing and jabbing with extreme skill, it was all I could do to keep up.

"HYPERION!" I heard a shout, sounding like a grown man from the right. A blue arc aimed at the Titan, nearly hitting him. Hyperion managed to turn and catch it with his spear. He wasn't able to knock away Zane's blast as quick as he thought, as it pushed him back on his heels and uprooted piles of the strange red rocks. Hyperion strained against the lightning bolt, the condensed energy at the tip of his spear. With a burst of his full available strength, he managed to dissipate it.

I grunted in pain and gripped my shoulder, feeling that it was bleeding, and burning up hotter than the worst fever imaginable.

Zane landed next to me, "You good?"

I tried to talk, but ended up coughing. My spit had completely disappeared from my mouth, it was like a desert in here now that I noticed. Just what the heck was up with that spear?

"You got hit, didn't you?"

I nodded, and Hyperion only chuckled, enjoying every second of our pain. Or in this case, my pain.

He rubbed his index finger along the line of blood at the tip of the spear, looking at it as he collected it.

"Hmm, I can smell the godly blood inside of this, but it's red. I like red better, it's different, and after seeing golden blood so long...well, it gets old."

His statement was disturbing, it reminded me of something a deranged serial killer would say. Technically Titans were though, and even worse. I don't know why I'd even compare the two.

"Sick fuck." Zane spat, "Matt, use Viribus to heal. I think his spear hold his energy, and the heat of this place we're in. You'll burn from the inside if you don't act now."

I nodded, taking his words to heart. Yeah, I could feel the energy seeping in my bloodstream and boiling it from the inside. I knew within minutes I'd be dead, it was like a fiery poison.

I pushed Viribus to my shoulder, and immediately felt relief. The wound closed, and the energy escaped, I felt my temperature cool and the burning heat decrease. I sighed with relief.

Hyperion let out a hearty laugh, "Yes, boy! Use granddaddy Zeus's power! Everyone always relies on that old coward!" He swiped his spear in front of him and held the tip at the ground, "How I can't wait for Lord Kronos and myself to kill him and the rest of the bunch!"

Zane scoffed, "As if. Dad would skewer you and Kronos with one hand behind his back."

Hyperion's golden eye twitched, "Mark my words, boy. Kronos will bring that so called king to his knees."

"You might want to worry about us first before you challenge Zeus." I said, glaring at him.

"You're right." Hyperion said, and raised his hands to his sides, "Take this!"

We waited for him to charge us, but instead of doing so, the pillars of fire started to move all around us, and shot at us.

Zane and I used our auras to create barriers around us, blue and red combined, the orange comets of light collided with them. Shockwaves and explosions erupted everywhere, the ground shook and we barely held up our shields.

"Keep it steady!" Zane yelled over the explosions, more and more seemingly bright asteroids soared and crashed into our barriers, nearly breaking them. I put all the power I could into it and kept it firm, not wanting to get hit with any more crazy heat.

Finally it subsided, and the pressure was gone.

"Same plan!" Zane said quickly, "Charge the cannon!" He leapt at Hyperion, not giving the titan any chance to continue the attack. I instantly obeyed, and sensed the energy once again, latching on to it. I pulled at it, and the red orb appeared again.

Hyperion and Zane went at it, zooming around at a speed that I could only register in this form, they clashed, bashed, and just down right fought each other brutally, Zane giving me time so I could end this. I needed to be quick.

I concentrated and siphoned more energy. For the next few minutes, Zane gave it his all and held Hyperion where he couldn't get to me. If Hyperion got close, Zane would find a way to keep him away. The dude was twice his strength, yet he managed to hold him at bay, I had a high respect for Zane at this point.

The cannon grew more and more, my palms were facing forward, enveloped in the fiery glow, it looked like a small red sun, similar to the one above us. I aimed it at Hyperion, and tried to signal Zane inside of my head.

Zane, it's ready, get out of the way!

I didn't hear a verbal response, but I felt his aura dart away from Hyperion. I knew it was time to end this.

I saw the Titan register Zane's disappearance, and I didn't give him a chance to do anything else. I thrust my arms forward, and with a shout, I released the powerful blast. A cylinder of pure red energy burst from my hands, I felt the intense heat come over my hands, but I ignored it, and watched the light speed blast engulf Hyperion and overtake him.

I gave it ten solid seconds, then the heat got to be too much. I dissipated the blast and immediately felt fatigue. I fell to my knees and looked to my hands, seeing that they were burned tremendously. I grabbed Viribus with shaky hands and barely managed to heal myself. The burns went away and my skin returned to normal.

In a split second, I found myself back on half blood hill, my knees on the grass.

"What the?" I said with a gasp, looking around for signs of Hyperion, but...I saw none.

"Nice job, man."

I looked over to see Zane standing next to me, breathless and bloody. He looked like he'd been in a mud of lava, wrestling with some giant monster. He sort of had.

"What happened?" I asked.

Zane stared for a moment, and ended up shrugging. "I honestly don't know, but his aura's gone. You either killed him...or he retreated."

I wanted to go with the first option, but I wasn't sure. I hadn't felt anything fade, but maybe I did...I don't know, I wasn't sure. It all happened so quick.

"What was that crazy pocket dimension thing?" I asked.

"I...don't know about that either, man. All I know, is that it's over. He won't be back for a while, thanks to you."

To me? "Bro, you were the one that held him off that whole time."

"Yeah, but you fired the cannon, and can't forget about the WWE slam, that was pretty badass."

I was about to retort with some other compliment, but before I could, we were greeted with the sound of running footsteps coming up the hill.

"Zane!"

"Matt!"

Both groups called at the same time towards us, their faces filled with concern. They quickly closed the distance, Harper came up to me, while Taylor and Nico came up to Zane, both of them practically throwing themselves on to him, funnily reminding me of when I first saw them.

Harper didn't do such a thing, but I could sense her relief right when she saw me. See, she shows a different kind of affection.

She hit me on the shoulder, "What happened?! Where did you two go?!"

Zane was catching his breath and the heat of the pocket dimension was wearing off on him, "Hyperion's personal fighting arena, but that doesn't matter. What matters, is that it's over. We got him."

Taylor widened his eyes at his boyfriend, "He's gone? You two...I mean, you two beat him?"

I nodded, "I guess you could say that. I mean, I didn't feel his aura afterwards. Maybe I killed him, or maybe he escaped."

Alternate Nico gave a timeout signal, "Wait a sec, you killed him? Are you sure it wasn't Zane?"

Talon glared at the Son of Hades, "You callin' Matt weak? You wanna go another round, kid?"

Zane mediated before anything could come to blows, "Yeah Nico, Matt's basically as strong as I am. He delivered the final blow. If it hit Hyperion...then I'm sure it did him in, or sent him pissing in his golden armor."

Nico sized me up, and furrowed his eyebrows like he was in deep thought. "Alright...you're strong, I'll admit it. But I'm still with Zane."

I threw my hands up lax dazedly, "No problem. Only right that you'd pick him in a fight." I took no offense, he was younger after all, and the fact that he was dating the most powerful demigod in this universe, probably all of them to be honest, filled him with pride. I understood.

Harper sighed, and rubbed her hands on her forehead, saying silently - I am so done with you getting in death matches.

"I'm just glad you didn't get yourself killed." She scolded, "That was a freaking titan, Matt! And a high ranking one!"

I chuckled, but there wasn't much humor in it, more so disbelief that we'd actually survived a fight with him. "I know, I know, but it's over. Like Zane said, that's all that matters. Maybe we can finally have a little peace."

Talon snorted, "Wouldn't jinx it, some monster or deranged god could come to our Camp next, then to Zane's, and it'll be back and forth, like we've been doing."

Taylor shivered in Zane's arm, "Yeah, let's not talk that up, please."

We all stood there for a moment, both groups, and by some instinct, we all looked down at the Camp, Zane's version of Camp. I could sense the longing from my Percy and Annabeth, the sense of home from Zane's group, and the thankfulness from myself. I was just happy everyone was safe, even if they weren't my friends, they were still my people.

Alternate Percy shook his head, "So...what do we do now?"

Zane and I looked at each other, like we'd planned this from the start, but I swear we hadn't. Crap, we were buddies now, we even moved together.

We both grinned, and said simultaneously, "Double date."

The date was awesome.

Correction, double date. Or is it a triple date, since there's three- oh forget it. Call it whatever you want.

Harper, myself, Zane, Taylor, and Nico all went into the city. I decided to tell them about Kyros and show them the great eagle. Since we didn't have cars, and heck, Zane and I don't need them, he just flies wherever he wants to go and I use Kyros.

Zane thought it was badass that I had my own giant eagle, and he understood the entire story due to my memories. I remember the look of sympathy that passed on his face when he remembered Kyros was my father's pet.

As for Taylor and Nico, Nico loved him. The Son of Hades suddenly thought I was a lot cooler, and didn't say anything else about Zane being stronger. In fact, he kept asking me questions about Kyros, and something about if he was a rare card in mythomagic. I had no answer to that, so I just rolled with it and said...sure. Even though I know mythomagic as well as Harper knows the mall.

Taylor wasn't as excited. See, Taylor likes it when Zane flies him around, but on the back of a giant bird...not so much. He was skittish and a little freaked out, but once Zane reassured him it was alright, he got over it, and ended up enjoying the little flight.

We flew into the city and ended up going to this fairly nice restaurant. They didn't question why five kids were attending this place, either because the mist made us to be adults, or for some other odd reason. Either way, I was grateful we weren't harassed for being "too young."

It was awesome. We all talked about a whole bunch of things, there wasn't an awkward silence anywhere. In fact, we were the loudest and most talkative group there. Maybe because the place is meant to be more of a quiet establishment. Huh, guess that explains the glares from the rich people.

But seriously, Harper loosened up quite a bit and her and Zane really hit it off, talking about various parts of their background and deep philosophical outlooks on life. It wasn't even weird for me, because I talked to Taylor and Nico too, finding out more about the differences in our universes, and what they liked to do in general. Turns out Taylor's the head counselor for the Ares cabin, and went from basically a nobody to a pretty important somebody within a couple of years. I knew the feeling, and we related on that. Nico, well...his story was a lot different from the one I knew. For one, he got out of the Lotus hotel much earlier than the one in my universe, and his sister didn't die. When I told him that, I wished I hadn't. He sort of went pale and looked at the ground, a war raging inside his head. I felt his emotions, and to my surprise the main one was guilt.

Other than that, awesome evening. I could truly call these people my friends now, especially Zane. I wasn't sure about him at first, but him helping defend my camp from Grayson, and us generally working together to stop Hyperion...meant a lot, and it changed my mind.

That's why, when we had to say goodbye, I was pretty bummed about it.

The two of us met by the portal, which indeed...had started closing. The pair of Annabeth's deduced that when the sun set, it would be closed completely. Well, we had about five minutes or less left.

Our groups had already said farewell, and Zane promised them he'd be over soon.

We both stood in silence, me in front of the portal on my side.

"Well, I guess this is it, man." He said.

I nodded, sighing. "Yeah, I guess it is."

Another silence fell, and in that moment, I simply took in the sheer incredibility of the entire day we'd had, and how crazy it was that it even happened in the first place. Two universes, alternates of each other, colliding in the way that it did. It was insane. We'd met, fought each other, introduced our groups to each other, sparred, saved my Camp from Grayson, actually got rid of Grayson, and Hyperion to top it off. A titan and one of the Big Four, troublesome opponents, all thanks to our team up.

I voiced this to him, and looked in between the trees to see the sun setting. "How crazy has this day been?"

He chuckled, "Pretty wild. But I'd say I've had weirder."

I raised an eyebrow at him and put my hands on my hips, "Really? Come on now, weirder than this?"

He shrugged, "I'd say so. I mean, did you see the visions? We travelled through a tunnel of moving rocks, trying to avoid a literal mouth in the ocean."

"And I had a vision of baby Ouranos, while nearly killing the god of fire and forges. But hey, meeting alternate versions of your friends and helping a son of Zeus fight a titan is pretty odd. You gotta admit."

He thought about it for a second, and smiled. "Yeah, It's been the weirdest day."

I laughed.

"But it's been good."

"It has." I agreed, "I knew it was for a reason. Our meeting, all of it was for a reason. We had to help each other."

He looked out to the tree line, meeting my line of sight, "I'm sorry about your dad, Matt. Ouranos...he sounds like a serious threat, far more than in my universe. I wish...I wish we could extend this team up. Hell, Kronos and Ouranos would be dead by next week if we could. Imagine if we helped each other on our quests, just imagine."

I wanted to believe that was possible. If we could work like we did today in this entire war, Zane was right, it would end quick, or at least quicker than it would without him and his team. But...the Annabeths were right, that would cause a paradox, and it would mess a world of things up. Besides, the portal was closing, we'd have to pick one side to stay on permanently.

"I know." I said sincerely, "But we've got to fight our own battles. That's what's made us stronger, it's what's made us who we are." I pointed to him and myself, "Zane Williams, and Matt Beckett. We've suffered through the worst, your mom and my dad...it's hard as hell, but we've got to take that pain, and use it. Kronos and Ouranos will get what's coming to them."

Zane nodded at my words, and finished what I wanted to say. "Maybe not today or tomorrow, but one day they will."

"That's right."

The portal's whirring grew weaker, and I knew we really didn't have much longer. It was about half the size it was previously. Zane would have to really squeeze to get in there.

"I know we have to do this on our own, with our respective groups...but, what if there was a way we could still work together? Like just a tiny bit? I think I have an idea..."

I raised an eyebrow at him, "What's the idea?"

He turned to face me, "So you know our mental connection? Well, I figured that might be enough. But no...I think the key to it would be our auras."

"Working together?" I said, "How do you figure?"

He stuck out his hand, "Watch." With a burst of energy, his blue aura flared around his hand, and he sliced his fingers downward towards his palm, cutting a deep gash across it. Blood and even fat tissue leaked out. Zane winced at the pain but kept his cool.

My eyes widened, "Dude! What the hell?!"

He grunted, "Alright, now hold out your hand."

I hesitated.

"Trust me, man. This'll work."

I reluctantly held out my palm like I was going to shake his hand, and with a flash, I felt a painful sting go all over my hand to my fingertips. I looked down and saw the same deep gash in my palm.

I winced, "Alright...now what?"

"Shake my hand, and activate your aura."

I did as he said, and grasped his hand in a firm stationary grip. I focused on my latent anger, the death of my father, the fact that Ouranos walks free, and everything that had me boiling for the past two weeks coming to forefront. The Red Aura came over me and surrounded my whole body. Our two energies mixed and clashed, eventually...joining.

I felt a sort of connection form, and it was an odd sensation. Zane's memories once again flashed through my mind, and so did mine to his. The aura's for a split second switched, and my Red glow became blue, and Zane's became red. It was for a split second, but it happened.

The aura's forcibly dissipated, and our grip was still intact. We broke hand contact, and to my surprise, our wounds were healed. I didn't even use Viribus...

I looked at my hand and back at Zane, "What...was that?"

Zane gave a half smile, "Our auras mixed together. We can now access a small part of each other's powers in times of need. Like...if you're ever in a pinch, or if I'm ever in a pinch, you can access some of my aura, and I can do the same. It'll give us a temporary boost."

I once again looked at my hand in disbelief, "Woah...really? With the handshake, that can happen?"

He nodded, "Sense deep down within yourself. See if you can feel my aura." He concentrated for a moment, "I feel yours."

I sensed my own aura, and at first didn't feel it. I dug deeper, kind of like the way I would when I charged the cannon. And deep down, beneath the layers of my own emotions and power, I felt it, Zane's aura. It was there.

"I feel it." I said, "It's there."

He smirked, "See, I told you it would work." He clapped my shoulder, and glanced at the closing portal, "Next time you're fighting Ouranos, give him a punch for me."

I myself looked at the closing portal. It was getting really small now.

While I knew he had to go, I didn't want him too. It had only been a day, but I'd bonded with the son of Zeus.

"Hate this has to be it, man. Wish we could've hung out more, not fighting dangerous titans and psychopathic demigods." I said.

"Ah, I wouldn't say this is it. You never know, man, maybe this portal will open up again, and by that time...who knows? I just might be a god or something, beat Kronos, all that."

I smiled, "And maybe Ouranos will be gone."

Zane looked at me like I was supposed to continue, "And you'll also be a god?"

"Nah, no godhood for me."

"Well what do you want to do? Be a hero until the end? Can't say that's bad, not at all actually."

I shrugged, and ended up pondering the future for a moment. "I don't know, to be honest. I'm just worried about the present for now. Why? You want to be a god someday?"

"Maybe. Heh, I'm not sure either, but I do know one thing." He looked at me, and with the most sincerity, that in fact...I'd ever heard anyone I'd ever met say, he promised, "I will be the strongest."

Somehow, I believed him. How could you not? With the way he just said that, anyone would. Even Hyperion.

"I hope I live to see that day, Zane Williams." I held out my hand for a farewell.

He pushed it away, and spread his hands at his side. "Bring it in, bro. Come on."

I wasn't expecting that, but heh, I guess you fight two battles in a row with some one, you get pretty close.

I smirked and brought it in, giving Zane a quick bro hug. He patted me on the back and we parted, smiling at each other.

"Alright then, Beckett. I gotta get back to my fight."

I backed away a couple of steps, "Good luck with that."

"And good luck to you, man. Next time we meet, I want to see Ouranos's head displayed in Camp."

That was a little...brutal. But with the fresh memory of the monster killing my father, I wasn't cringing at all from the thought.

"Same with Kronos." I said, "Farewell, Son of Zeus." I waved at him, he put one foot through the portal.

With one last look, he waved back at me, "Later, Son of Hercules."

With that, he crawled through the portal, and I watched it for a solid ten seconds, before it disappeared, the parallel forest on the other side fading from view.

Everything was back to normal, the portal was gone, and Zane Williams...was gone.

I stared at the spot he disappeared in for a few more moments, and sighed.

"Forget about me?"

I turned and saw Harper standing about twenty feet from me, the sun had set, and darkness was falling.

"Nah. I was just saying thanks for the help."

Harper pouted her lip in mock sadness, "Aw, are you sad that your new best friend is gone?"

I walked towards her and smirked, "Shut up. I'm not sad. But I'll admit...he was pretty cool."

She laced her fingers in mine, "Come on, let's go rest. Who knows when the next fight will be."

As we walked I looked back where the portal once stood, and thought about what was next for Zane Williams, and myself. Pretty soon, he'd be taking on the Labyrinth, a monstrous sized maze with all kinds of dangers, and probably some other titan next. While I...well, I had no idea. But I knew for sure that whatever came next, we'd be alright. Both of us. We were heroes after all.

And that's what heroes do.
