Alright, y'all! Here we go for the second chapter of the second crossover with Echoexenvy, The Scythe of Chaos. Last chapter was absolutely hype as fuck for me to read, and this one is going to be even more hype for me to write. Let's go ahead and dive on into it without any further bullshit.
(DISCLAIMER: Me or Echoxenvy do not own anything portrayed here (Except the OCs). If the fact that this is on a Fanfiction site didn't tip you off, you're fucking retarded.)

(Zane POV)
"So…did you miss me?"
Those were the words I uttered to Matt and his unnamed friend after I had just got done laying the smackdown on Luke's candy ass, which by the way, had felt really good.
So, if you didn't know what had just happened, I'll give you a little bit of a recap. Luke, my mortal archenemy, and Iapetus, a Titan with crazy white hair and a janitor outfit along with a shield that has a chunk of Heavenly Diamond in it, for some unknown reason came over to Matt's universe, decimated their camp and tried to kill Matt. Then I showed up, kicked Iapetus' ass with my new massive sword, and had an absolutely titanic battle with Luke, who unfortunately escaped.
Caught up now? Alright.
Matt looked absolutely shell shocked, probably due to a combination of watching that epic fight and my appearance here. "Z-Zane. You're…here." Matt didn't really look any different from the last time I saw him.
Well, he did look considerably older, by almost a year, looking like a full-grown man now. He was taller and had more mass to him, but he still had the same old spike hair and the sleeveless cuirass, along with that cape he wore when we fought in this dimension well over a year ago.
I slapped him on the shoulder and brought him into a manly bro hug. "Of course I'm here, dude. My main big bad guy comes over to your dimension and starts fucking shit up, and you think I wouldn't show up to help?" I separated from him and turned my gaze over to the guy who had been standing by Matt in silence. "And who are you?" I asked, an easygoing smile on my face.
The guy looked familiar, almost eerily so. Hell, he looked nearly exactly like I did a few months ago, just blonde and with shorter hair. He was around the same height as me, just a couple inches shorter. He also was leaner than I was, but he was just as shredded and ripped.
The guy who looked like me was also in shock, although not as much as Matt was as he reacted quicker. He extended his hand to me. "My name is Malachi Stallard…son of Ouranos." The now named Malachi added the last part almost bitterly, as if he was completely ashamed of his bloodline.
Ah, so this was Malachi. I had seen him and how he had been possessed and captured by his father when me and Matt shared our memories with each other last year when the portal had been created by my training session. I took Malachi's hand, shaking it with a firm grip. "Name's Zane Williams, son of Zeus." Malachi looked at me in confusion and shock, as if wondering if what I was claiming was true.
I motioned to where Luke had escaped through a portal with Iapetus, something that still irked and irritated me. "I'm from the same dimension those guys were from. About a year ago, I came over and met Matt and everyone else. Apparently, you were captured by your father right after what happened in Scandinavia, so I doubt you know about it."
My explanation seemed to answer Malachi's questions, who only nodded in return. He still looked shaken up, by either the fight or just the general events of what had happened over here. "Well, that explains some of what has just transpired. But…" Malachi looked at me, looking like he was looking at his own reflection. "..why do you look like me? And why are you so powerful?"
I shrugged. "Not sure why we look alike. You look just like me without a beard, just with blond hair and a slightly different body type. We even sound the same." We actually really did. Both of our voices had the same pitch and same level of deepness. It was uncanny. "Perhaps you're this universe's version of me? I don't exist here and as far as I know, you don't exist where I'm from."
Malachi looked like he was in deep thought pondering the question. "Perhaps that is the most plausible explanation. But does that mean Ouranos, in your universe. Isn't-" Before Malachi could get another word out, he suddenly started coughing up blood and fell to one knee. I nearly jumped back in shock, as he seemed nearly fine earlier.
"Malachi!" Matt, who had been silent while I conversed with Malachi, shouted in worry. Matt raced up to Malachi's side, helping him back to his feet. "You shouldn't have tried to jump in the fight in the kind of condition you're in right now, dude. You could be dead right now." Matt's voice was laced with concern as he draped Malachi's arm over his shoulder, helping the demi-primordial stay afoot.
Malachi shook his head. "My condition and h-health doesn't matter when Sera and this camp are in danger from powerful threats such as the ones w-we just faced." Malachi was exhausted, his injuries and whatever had been afflicting him earlier finally catching up with him. "I'll gladly die if it means they are safe from harm."
I looked at the son of Ouranos in surprise, almost unable to believe the amount of conviction and determination he spoke with. Matt, however, seemed used to this and shook his head. "Well, the threats are gone now, man. That means you can rest now." Matt turned his head to a nearby camper, who was basically frozen in shock. "Hey, you. Can you get Malachi back to the infirmary and make sure Logan takes care of him? Find Sera and make sure she's alright, too."
The camper snapped to attention and nodded furiously, before taking Matt's place as Malachi's crutch and guiding the injured demi-primordial away. Matt sighed as he looked at the destruction of camp, which must have become an all too familiar sight for him at this point. "What the hell were those guys doing here, Zane? That was Luke and Iapetus from your universe, right? Why would they attack our camp and try to kill me specifically?"
I shook my head as I stood beside Matt, unsure of why they would come here myself. "I'm not really sure, Matt. I think I at least know how they got here, but it was just Iapetus before. Luke was nowhere in the picture at all in what happened." Matt looked at me, looking for an explanation. I sighed. "It's too long and complicated of a story to tell out here, especially with all this destruction around. I can tell you later in your cabin, if that's alright?"
Matt nodded, and I could just see how tired of everything the son of Hercules was. I didn't even need Telepathy or emotion sensing to tell he just wanted everything to run smoothly and not have to constantly deal with incredible threats like this. "That's fine, especially if it's as complicated as you say it is. Let's just make sure everyone is alright in the camp first." I nodded and began to follow Matt.
The first and most unsurprising thing we did, was find Matt's girlfriend Harper. She hadn't been too far away from us, and we found her kneeling over on the ground picking up a…Heavenly Diamond knife? I reached out with my aura sense, trying to confirm whether what I'm seeing was real or not, and sure enough, I felt the incredible chaotic energy surge from the weapon. It was identical in feeling to Thymos and radiated chaotic strength.
Harper, or I guess alternate Harper now I knew she existed in my universe too, looked up from the chaotic dagger, seeing both me and Matt. The second I saw her eyes, I knew something was up from the last time I had seen the daughter of Nemesis. Her eyes, or uh, eye had lost quite a bit of the spark it once had the last time I had seen her. She looked even more tired than Matt at the world and almost resigned and bottled up in a way.
Harper's face lightened, if only a bit, once she saw her boyfriend. "Matt." Once we reached her, Harper brought the son of Hercules into a hug, not a typical one, but one that seemingly echoed more love than a typical hug between two significant others. I wondered what had happened to her for her to act like this. "I'm glad you're okay. That…version of Luke was fucking strong. I thought he was going to kill everyone here."
Matt shook his head, a slight, but loving smile coming up on his face. "Well, considering what we've lived through so far, it's going to take more than roided out Doc Brown and Kronos Jr. to kill us." His face became more serious and his tone switched to a more concerned one. "Are you alright? They didn't hurt you, did he?"
Harper shook her head. "Not anymore than they hurt anyone else. They just knocked me around a little, that's all." Harper's eyes turned to me, and a slight smirk came up on her face. "Well, look who it is. Little Zeus from another universe, come to clean up his rogue's gallery and stop them from trying to kill us too. Complete with a giant sword that overcompensates for something."
I smirked at the daughter of Nemesis, glad to see some of her energy she had when I saw her previous come to life. "Well, someone's gotta do it. Had to make a dramatic entrance and everything. And hey, I have proof that definitely isn't true." A certain demi-titan/titaness came to mind, although with feelings of guilt.
Matt smirked at our banter. "Girls, girls. You're both pretty." Matt's face became more serious. "I'm glad to see you're okay, Harper. Seriously, Luke had me worried there for a second. I thought he was going to kill you after you threw the dagger at him."
Harper shook her head, waiving off Matt's worries. "I'm fine, Matt. Really. Like you said, it's going to take way more than someone like those two clowns to do me in." Harper looked at the damaged camp and sighed. "I just wish this place would stop being a battleground for people who can destroy the planet a million times over. It feels like it keeps getting wrecked every year at this point." Harper looked back to me and Matt. "I can tell you two have a lot to talk about, so go on and go do that. I'll help out with everything here." Harper gave Matt a kiss on the lips and walked off to help with the wreckage of one of the buildings.
Seeing the two of them interact like that made my heart ache somewhat. I'm not sure if anyone here knows, but I recently broke up with both of my own boyfriends. It was over a dumb and horrible mistake that I made with the demi-titan/titaness Calypso when I had been trapped on her island for two weeks and it was something I regretted horribly and something that cost me my relationship. It had been over six months since it happened, but the pain and heartache never really went away.
Me and Matt walked through camp some more, eventually finding this universe's version of Percy Jackson. He had a few leaves and broken branches and twigs on him, but he was relatively fine. He looked about the same as last time I had seen him when he came with me and Matt to my universe, although he looked a little older than last time.
What was mostly different was his aura. It was far, far more powerful than it used to be. Hell, it might even be a match for my Percy, who was currently alive and well once more in my universe despite his earlier death. I could tell it had finally been truly awakened, and that this Percy could now use it to nearly it's fullest extent.
Alternate Percy was helping a few campers with pulling an injured kid out of the rubble of one of the cabins, although I could tell his mind was absolutely nowhere near focused on what he was doing. He looked shell shocked, lost even. Like everything he thought real and solid had just been shattered. Matt noticed this as well, tapping the son of Poseidon on the shoulder. "Yo, man. You alright?"
It took a couple of seconds for Alternate Percy to respond, almost as if he didn't even register we were here for a few seconds. "Y-Yeah. I'm alright." Alternate Percy stood up from the rubble he had been sifting through and looked at us. "Just…crazy things just happened, huh?" Alternate Percy's eyes landed on me. "Oh, Zane, the son of Zeus from that alternate universe, right? How you been, man?"
It was almost jarring to see a version of Percy so affected by something like this. My Percy seemed almost emotionally insurmountable, as if he was ready and able to do anything. He had sacrificed himself for me so that I could live, and he had been willing to go back to the Underworld as to not cause trouble for our camp. Hell, I looked up to him and he was what I really wanted to be like.
I smiled at Alternate Percy. "Well, I've been doing as well as I can be doing, considering everything that's happened." Matt looked at me, curiosity in his eyes at my words. "What about you, dude? You been doing alright? You know, not counting today?"
Alternate Percy, starting to get more of a bearing on himself now, nodded at me with a smile. "Yeah, actually. Me and Annabeth just recently got engaged and we've been planning the wedding for the past month. It's gotten me really excited. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her." My eyes actually widened at hearing that little tidbit of information. Percy and Annabeth got engaged in this universe!? Oh my fucking god!
I actually chuckled out loud after Percy's words. "Wow, man! Just…whoa. That's something I did not think I would hear today. Seriously, man, congratulations."
Alternate Percy, smiled brightly at my words. "Thanks. It's something I'm really looking forward to." Alternate Percy dusted off some off the leaves and twigs that had been covering his form. "So how has my alternate self been doing? Still with Annabeth too, I hope? How did the whole Labyrinth business go?"
I chuckled slightly again, unsure how exactly to answer Alternate Percy's question in a normal way. "Well, he's been doing fine. Saved my life a couple of times, without him I wouldn't be here. And yeah, he's with Annabeth still, those two are still going strong. Stronger than me at least.." I whispered that last part, which only Matt heard. "And well, as for how the Labyrinth went, well you…uh, died for a little bit."
Alternate Percy did a double take, unsure what he just heard had actually be said. "O-Oh, you mean like how I went to Calypso's island for a couple of weeks and the whole camp thought I was dead, right?" That happened to him here instead? Well, I guess it just shows Percy's a better and more loyal person than I am, huh?
I shook my head. "Nah, that happened to me instead of you in my universe. You like, actually died. Like in the Underworld dead." Alternate Percy's jaw dropped and he looked at me in shock. "Yeah, well, you came back to life like less than a month later. Like literally bulldozed your way out of the underworld and came to help us in the final battle. Then I asked my father to bring you back to life, which he did. So all's well that ends well."
Alternate Percy was silent for a few seconds, completely in shock. As was Matt, who just looked at me with wide eyes. Alternate Percy then mumbled, "Where did our universe's split to cause that much of a difference, goodness…" Alternate Percy looked back up at us. "Well, you certainly had a…unique version of your events, huh?"
Matt, finally speaking, agreed with the son of Poseidon. "Yeah, like Percy literally died? And then came back to life?" Matt's face fell slightly, and he looked downcast. "Why can't that happen here?" Matt whispered to himself, gripping his hand into a fist. I heard the whisper, looking at the son of Hercules in concern. Matt didn't address it, and simply turned to Alternate Percy. "Well, man. If you want to go back to New Rome, you're free to do so. I think we can take it from here."
Alternate Percy shook his head. "I can't do that yet, man. We just got attacked by two Titans and they nearly killed all of us. I need to be here, at least until this mess is sorted. New Rome can wait for now." I looked at both of them in confusion. What the hell was New Rome?
Matt nodded. "Alright, Percy. If you say so." He looked at me and motioned to follow him, which I did, and we started to walk away. "We'll catch you later, we have a lot to talk about right now, maybe to find out why those guys attacked us."
Alternate Percy nodded. "Gotcha, man. I'll see you two at dinner tonight." Me and Matt started to walk away but Alternate Percy then called out once more. "Hey, Zane!" I turned back, seeing Percy jog up to me. "I just wanted to say…you were right about your Luke." Percy looked nearly defeated saying those words, which confused me.
"What are you talking about, Percy? What do you mean I was right about him?" What the hell could Alternate Percy be referring to?
Alternate Percy noticed my confusion and elaborated for me. "A year ago, back when our two universes first met, you said you wished Luke would die in your universe. I told you that you were wrong to think that, that Luke came around back to the side of good in the end. You said he was pure evil, no chance of redemption."
Alternate Percy's eyes and face took on that same shook expression I had seen on it earlier when we had approached him. "But you were right in what you said back then. In my time being in the divine world, I've met some real evil, nasty monsters and people out there. Ares, Atlas, Polybetes and Ouranos. But there are few people I've felt that are so…corrupted and twisted as your Luke."
Alternate Percy's face became more determined and serious. "So do me a solid. For the sake of both your Percy and your Annabeth, stop him. If they are to have any chance of having a future like me and my Annabeth, he's gotta go."
I was silent for a second, before I nodded in return. "I will, Percy. Not just for yours and Annabeth's sake, but for everyone's. I will end Luke's reign before it even has the chance to begin." I clapped him on the shoulder. "You take care of yourself, now. Make sure your wedding is the best one anybody could ask for."
With that, both me and Matt walked back into camp, not saying anything about what just happened yet. I was going to wait until we were in his cabin and I'm fairly certain he knew that. The two of us walked through camp, with me following Matt's lead once more. Eventually we came up upon two figures outside the infirmary, one of them familiar, one of them new.
The familiar figure was Talon, the badass cowboy son of Nikandreos I had met last year and who had engaged in a spar with…Nico. The demigod cowboy looked virtually the exact same since I had last seen him, only a little older looking, wearing his duster jacket and his patented sunglasses and hat. He looked much happier than the last time I saw him, which made a lot of sense, considering if what I assumed was correct, Malachi and Sera, the daughter of Khione, were back. Although, with my emotion sensing, I could tell something was bothering the son of Nikandreos greatly.
The new figure was who I assumed was Sera Griffith, who I had seen some of in Matt's memories last year. She had been kidnapped by Ouranos, again, in Scandinavia after the primordial had taken over Malachi's body. I didn't even need to use my telepathy to tell that the daughter of Khione had basically been traumatized by what had happened, and I could see the stress on her face from several feet away.
Speaking of her face, Sera had to be the absolute most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my entire life, period. Superior to Harper, Aphrodite, Medusa, any woman I could think of in any regard. I didn't really swing much to the side of the other gender, but if I did, I felt like I would have had my breath taken away.
As both me and Matt approached, both of them were in conversation, with Sera being the one speaking. "-ust worried about him so much. Kai was already in bad shape before, but after he fought that…monster…with the orange energy, it was almost like when he first got sick when we got back to camp." Sera wiped a tear away from his eye. "Seeing him do those terrible things for a year hurt so much…but seeing him like this is even worse."
Talon, his usual bluster completely absent, placed a hand on Sera's shoulder. "Don't worry, Sera. Malachi will be completely fine, that Logan kid is tending to him right now. He's doing better, trust me. A couple of weeks ago, he wouldn't have been able to even throw a punch in a fight like that." Talon seemed to finally notice us, and his form tensed slightly, something I noticed.
A smirk, a curiously fake one, came up on Talon's face. "Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in from another universe! You made quite the dramatic entrance with the whole 'warping through the sky and floating down like some kid of god' thing. And that fight! It looked like reality was breaking apart when you and that maniac bastard were throwing hands!" Talon held up a fist. "Nice to see ya again, kid."
I returned the prompted fistbump, smirking as I did so. "Nice to see you again, too, cowboy." My smirked deepened. "And you can't exactly call me kid anymore. I have more hair on my face than you and I'm like a head taller than you, so maybe I should start calling you shorty?"
Faux anger came up on Talon's face and I could feel his fake glare through his sunglasses. "Oh, hold your horses now, kid! You think you can grow a couple of inches, get a new epic sword and some shiny armor, grow a beard, and then come over to my universe, and call me short!?"
I smirked at Talon's bluster, although I could tell it was still somewhat fake. What was exactly bothering the son of Nikandreos? "Yeah, I feel like I can. I mean, I did save your asses from Luke and his Titan goon, so a little name calling is what I choose as a reward." I ruffled the top of Talon's head, prompting him to bat away my arm with a string of curses. I turned my gaze to Sera and gave her a smile. "I take it you're Sera Griffith, right? Matt's memories have told me a lot about you."
Sera simply looked at me, her mouth slightly agape as she gazed upon my features. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. Why was she looking at me like she'd seen a ghost? "Are you okay there? I hope I didn't say anything to offend you?"
My words seemed to break Sera out of whatever trance my presence had put her in, as she came out of it with a slight jump, before looking at me slightly sheepishly. "O-Oh! I-I'm sorry. You just look a lot like Kai did when he had a beard not too long ago. J-Just with darker hair." She turned her gaze from me, a sheepish smile on her face.
Sera's antics were…cute. They brought a genuine smile to my face and got an audible chuckle out of me. Maybe I only thought this just because I seemed to be my universe's version of Malachi, but I wasn't sure. "Don't worry, it's fine. I get that a lot lately, it seems." I looked over at the damaged infirmary, sensing my counterpart's aura inside. "What exactly is wrong with Malachi? His aura feels…strained, as if it had constantly been lit on fire and put out my water quickly."
Matt was quick to provide an explanation. "When both him and Sera were in Ouranos' capitivity, Ouranos only fed Malachi ambrosia. And since Malachi isn't a god…" Matt let the implications of what he said settle in my mind, which it did.
How was Malachi even alive? Lesser demigods can burn up simply eating more than a couple of handfuls of ambrosia, but enough for an entire year? Malachi must be one strong motherfucker to be able to survive that. "Well…..damn. No wonder his aura feels like that then."
Matt nodded in agreement. "Yeah. He's not exactly in the best shape right now and he definitely needs his rest." Matt turned to both Sera and Talon. "We just came by the make sure he was okay and how you to were holding up before we discussed how and why those two attacked us."
Talon waved Matt off. "We're fine, Superman. And we're both here to make sure nothing happens to Malachi in there." His brow furrowed and a spark of gold erupted slightly from one of his hands. "They'll have to go through me." Talon's tone was serious, even more so than when I had heard him speaking to Sera alone.
My eyes lingered on Talon's golden energy that briefly appeared on his right hand. Last year when I had seen the strength he used against…Nico, I was honestly shocked how powerful he was. If he had fought me instead of Matt at this camp last year, I honestly wasn't sure I would even be alive right now.
But now, I had the practically reality bending strength of Heavenly Thunder Form. I couldn't use it for long, maybe five minutes or so at my peak after training with it for the past six months, but it gave me universe shaking might. It made me millions, if not billions of times stronger than my normal Thunder Form. I might be just below Atlas in strength, but I'm confident if I faced the Titan again, either another version of him or something, I could win.
But enough about me pondering my own power. Matt nodded at Talon's declaration. "I thought you'd say something like that. You stay safe, though, okay? You too, Sera." The daughter of Khione nodded at Matt's words, determination similar to Talon's having come up on her face. Matt turned and motioned his hand to me. "Let's go, Zane." I nodded at Matt's words, following him once more.
We took one final walk through camp, Matt making sure every was okay and no one was too hurt. Luckily, Luke and Iapetus hadn't killed anybody attacking camp, which was pretty uncharacteristic for them. Or at least Luke, as I had only known Iapetus for a little while. Eventually, we made it to Matt's cabin, which was luckily virtually untouched by me and Luke's monumental battle.
Me and Matt walked inside, with the son of Hercules pulling up two chairs for us to sit down. "Take a seat, man." I nodded, before practically collapsing in the chair Matt had pulled up, heavily breathing. Matt's eyes widened in surprise as I basically fell into the chair and looked like I had ran a marathon. "Whoa, dude! Are you okay!?"
I waved off his concern, trying to get control over my breathing. "Y-Yeah, man. I'm f-fine." I huffed as I sat up, lifting myself off my armor thighs. "New f-form just drains me of my energy r-real quick and takes a toll on me a-after I use i-it. Not quite use to it yet." I got a little more control over my breathing. "Some ambrosia would be nice if you have some, would restore my energy real quick."
Matt nodded, relief over the fact that I wasn't dying covering his face. "Yeah, dude. I'll grab some." Matt walked away for a couple of seconds and then came back with a plate with a loaf of ambrosia covering it. "Here." I nodded my thanks and wharfed down the ambrosia in less than two seconds, the taste of fried chicken permeating throughout my mouth.
My energy returned in a few seconds, immediately bring me back to full aura and full health. "Thanks, Matt. That new form of mine is insanely powerful but the drawback to it is one of the most dangerous things it could possibly be. Not to mention it basically makes my stamina dogshit."
Matt looked at me in slight confusion. "Why did you act like you were perfectly fine earlier, then? We basically walked around the camp for like ten minutes making sure everyone was okay, but you never said anything. Why?" I was surprised Matt couldn't feel it with his aura sensing, although his concern for everyone in the camp likely made him gloss over my aura.
I sat up in the seat, feeling much better now. "Well, Matt, I guess you could say I care more about how I present myself in front of the general campers now. After the whole thing with the Labyrinth, I've taken up more of a leadership position in Camp. Not quite the Camp director or activity director, but just someone who helps others get stronger, and who takes charge when shit get's real."
Matt nodded at my explanation, understanding etched on his face. "I get that, dude. I guess you could say I kind of have a position like that here, although Percy and Dionysus are actually in charge. Well, I guess Percy, since the wine guy doesn't really do anything." Matt sighed, looking a bit more serious now. "So you said you might have an idea on why Luke and Iapetus attacked us, right?"
I shook my head at Matt's question. "Not quite, Matt. I said I think I knew how they got here, but as to why they're actually here, I have no real clue. Luke coming over here doesn't really make much sense, to be honest." I put my hands on my armored knees, leaning over slightly. "So what has been going on in the past year for you, Matt? Even just being here for less than half an hour, I can tell a whole lot is completely different."
Matt breathed out and ran a hand through his spiked up hair, as if even thinking on the events stressed him out. "Man, that's kind of a complicated question. I can't really even begin to put into words about how much has actually happened, we'd be here for days." Matt chuckled a little bit at the end, but I could tell in his expression and tone he wasn't really in a jovial mood about it all.
I smirked a little bit. "Well, good thing I can make it to where sharing our experiences only takes a couple of seconds, right?" Matt's face was confused slightly, but then a look of realization came up over his face.
Matt nodded. "Oh yeah, forgot you could link our minds and share our memories with each other. Sorry I forgot, man. It's been over a whole year since then." Matt sighed a bit before putting his own hands on his thighs. "Alright, go ahead. I've been pretty curious what you've been up to the past year."
I smiled. "Same, bro." I took a breath. "Alright, here we go." I closed my eyes, feeling that familiar buzz feeling in my head that came up when using my telepathy. I felt the bridge between me and Matt's consciousnesses and then linked our minds.
In the span of a few seconds in the real plane, I saw everything Matt had done in the past year. His time at his new High School he had started going to, his dates and experiences with Harpers, and his first encounter with the Titan of Endurance, Atlas.
This universe's version of Atlas was quite a bit different than mine. For one, he looked quite a bit older here, like a fifty year old rather than his more thirtish appearance from my universe. His face was also quite different, with a thick, white mustache rather than a medium length brown beard. He had worn a modern looking military attire, rather than a simple blue toga like mine. However, they did have the same purple aura.
Despite the differences in appearances, their power was virtually the same. The Atlas I saw in Matt's memories practically toyed with both the Son of Hercules and his girlfriend. Hell, he had even broken Matt's back, Bane on Batman style. If it wasn't for Poseidon's help, I doubt Matt would have even survived the encounter.
Then came the stuff with Levi, Harper's older brother. He looked almost nothing like the flashes of Levi I had seen when the son of Nemesis had led the Big Four, looking emaciated and weak. From what I saw in Matt's memories, he had basically abandoned Ouranos after fully realizing the primordial cared nothing for him, and had gone through a massive change of heart.
I saw everything, from his initial meeting in the Big House, to the vision he had shown everyone on Atlas' mountain where he scarred the Titan to save his mother, to Alternate Nico discovering his presence, to the one sided slaughter fight between him and Harper in the Area, and then finally the main gang escaping camp while all the campers went ballistic.
It was almost jarring to see both Alternate Nico and the campers act like they did, but it was understandable. Levi had attacked their camp and murder many of their members. Of course they would want to see him dead. However, Levi had changed quite a bit. Maybe it doesn't change want he did, but I would say it warrants another chance.
Then I saw the climatic confrontation with Malachi and Hendricks, a twisted and evil son of Hecate. Matt battled Malachi in a one on one battle, one even more epic and awesome than my own battle with the son of Hercules. As I watched the battle in Matt's memory, I was surprised to see Matt actually lose the fight against the demi-primordial, having to be saved by Talon and his insane Nikandreos power. Huh, Malachi was ludicrously strong then.
Then, I saw Matt and his group deal with Hendricks. I'd seen some evil fuckers in my time, but Hendricks might just take the cake in how chaotically vile someone was I'd ever met, or at least seen in memory. The son of Hecate had some really, really weird powers. He could even traverse the multiverse without using Heavenly Diamond, which was incredible.
I saw Matt live a day in the universe where he wasn't a demigod or warrior. Where he was just a regular high school student who played football and lived with his parents, as well as having a girlfriend, which was also a mortal version of Harper. It was an odd feeling to see Matt live through that day, as that had once been pretty similar to my life, normal and completely safe.
Apparently Hendricks had thrown everyone of them into an alternate universe to defeat them, or at least remove them from the fight. In Matt's mortal universe, he had tried to convince the son of Hercules to stay in that completely normal universe, where Matt's life could have been perfect. He had also kidnapped the original Matt of that universe and was going to kill him to remove any loose ends.
Matt, obviously not going to let that happen, saved his alternate self and tried to take down Hendricks, which led them both through a chase throughout the multiverse. The two jumped through portals, trying to kill each other before eventually ending up in a universe that looked like a post-apocalyptic New York City.
Apparently, there was some zombie version of Matt, which was fucking unnerving and awesome at the same time. Matt had called him Insano, which made me want to facepalm. After briefly fighting his zombie self, he continued to chase Hendricks, which led them to an event that nearly floored me.
In Matt's memories, I saw two older versions of myself, one in my own Heavenly Thunder Form and another surrounded by golden energy, fighting the battle to end all battles. From feeling their auras in Matt's memory, well, they were so fucking powerful I couldn't even wrap my head around it. They made my father, the strongest Greek being in the universe, feel pathetic. The difference in strength was like the difference between my father and a powerless mortal. No, the difference between my father and a gnat.
But enough of that. Eventually, Matt finally caught up to Hendrick in another post-apocalyptic world, and ran into a figure which also put me in a state of awe. It had been a future, godly version of Matt. One so powerful he was comparable to my father, and wielding three Heavenly Diamond weapons. Apparently, he was a version of Matt who failed to stop Ouranos and was given godhood by Zeus to stand in the primordial's way, effectively cursing him to an eternity of fighting Ouranos.
After a long talk, Old Man Matt had given Matt words of wisdom to help save his world from Old Man Matt's fate, and apparently the actual fucking Master Bolt. Like the same weapon my father wields, packed into that watch I had pointed out earlier.
Eventually, I saw Matt return home along with Hendricks. Levi then killed the son of Hecate with that Heavenly Diamond dagger from earlier that I saw Harper with, erasing his soul. Afterwards, they then talked some serious sense into Malachi, and then went to the summit of Atlas' mountain to confront the Titan. The situation gave me some serious nostalgia, as it was very similar to when me and my own group killed the Titan.
The battle had been very similar as well, with Atlas completely overpowering Matt's group in every way possible. Matt had even brought out the same Master Bolt his older counterpart had given him, which had blown the Titan's arm clean off. Still, Atlas had been too strong for all of them, even as he pushed Matt to new heights of strength.
Even Nemesis had shown up to help her children and their friends, helping Matt charge a Red Beam Cannon. The blast in the memory was one of the most powerful things I had ever seen, definitely strong enough to destroy the entire universe several times over, easily. The blast had horrifically scared and damaged Atlas, but it hadn't been enough to kill him.
They had believed Atlas was defeated, which had been a very costly mistake to make to make. It resulted in Levi being killed by the Titan, punched right through the torso. After seeing Matt's memories, I had actually grown to respect Levi, and when I saw when just die like that, I have to admit, it affected me.
After that, they finished Atlas off, making sure he was defeated this time with a combined effort, before placing him back under the Burden, which still existed here. Matt and his group looked like they had been in the hardest fight of their entire life, but they had prevailed, albeit at a very great cost. They couldn't even heal from the injuries of the battle, as Matt's club Viribus ran out of my father's aura.
My father had shown up to talk with Matt after they arrived back to Camp Half-Blood, in which where Matt had gone completely off on my father. He had asked why Zeus never showed up to help them, despite showing up to help his group on the Cursed Island. Matt was justifiably angry, especially when my father gave him the same fate answer he had given me after the fight with Luke.
That was the last thing I had seen from Matt, but I could tell he had seen everything from me as well. My first encounter with Prometheus, my groups initial travels through the Labyrinth, our meeting with Hera, my battle with Kampe, my self-reflection with my shade of my younger self, our talks with Hephaestus, my second fight with Prometheus and Percy's death, my time on Calypso's island, my confrontation with Antaeus and Luke, my words with Daedalus and the events of the final battle at camp. All of that passed into Matt's mind.
After a few seconds of memory sharing, both me and Matt's mental link ended with a mental snapping sound. Neither of us said a word for several seconds, mulling over what we had just seen. Eventually, we both spoke at once, pointing at each other. "You beat Atlas, too!?" "You had sex!?"
I froze up like a deer in headlights at Matt's words, before my face turned bright red. I looked away, not able to look Matt in the eyes as my faced burned. "I-I didn't mean to show you that! B-But yeah…yeah, I did." I coughed, shaking my head and desperately trying to think of a way to change the subject. "Sooo! You traveled through the multiverse and met an older, alternate version of yourself?"
Luckily, Matt didn't bother to press the issue of the whole sex thing. Instead, his face turned serious. "Yes. After the entire thing with Hendricks, I ran into a future alternate version of me. He was a god, stronger than even Zeus. As you probably saw, he was forced to constantly battle Ouranos in some sort of hollow existence." Matt looked at his watch, the one that I now knew contained the Master Bolt. "He told me I could avoid his fate, and he gave me this."
Using my aura sense, and armed with the knowledge of it's existence, I could feel the Master Bolt's surging power inside the wrist watch. I have welded the weapon once before, back during my first quest when Ares stole the thing and nearly started a divine civil war. The Master Bolt brought me from being weaker to Ares to almost being on par with Hades, so I can only just imagine how powerful it would make me now, possible even stronger than my father.
I chuckled. "Well, the Master Bolt is definitely something that can help you change your fate, although a drawback of only five uses is kind of abysmal, not going to lie." I shrugged. "Well, it's probably better than it destroying your soul if you ran out of energy using it, like my Heavenly Thunder Form."
The mention of my new form brought a raised eyebrow to Matt's face. "Heavenly Thunder Form? That's what you call your new form that is mixed with the chaotic energy of Heavenly Diamond, right?" I nodded, and Matt let out a whistle. "The strength of that new form of yours is insane. If we would have had you using that against Atlas, we probably would have beaten him without much trouble."
I nodded in agreement, my mind already thinking of scenarios where my presence would have changed the entire scope of the fight, as with the form I was nearly as powerful as the Titan of Endurance himself. "Yeah, if I had been there it would have been a whole lot easier than what I saw. Maybe Levi wouldn't have di-" I cut myself off, knowing the subject was likely still sore with Matt.
Matt's face fell at the mention of the now deceased son of Nemesis and he sighed. "Yeah…Levi would probably still be alive." Matt was silent for a few more seconds, before he spoke once more. "If I had just made sure Atlas was done for, maybe he'd still be alive. I feel like I've failed not only just him, but Harper as well."
I shook my head. "No, man. You couldn't be to blame for that. You hit that ugly motherfucker with the giant energy blast to end all giant energy blasts. He looked like he had been cooked alive, so of course you would assume he was done. I don't really know anyone else who'd be able to get up after that." My mind lingered to the image of another Titan, one wearing a familiar suit of power armor and welding a familiar massive sword. "Well, maybe one other. His armor probably could take anything."
Matt seemed to read my mind just from my face and my words. "You're talking about Prometheus, right? The armored Titan with the armor I saw in your memory, right?" I nodded in confirmation at Matt's question. "I don't know much about Prometheus here, but I guess he's way different over there. Percy and Annabeth never told me anything about him so I guess his appearance was unique to you reality." His eyes trailed to the Titan's former sword on my back. "You got that big ass sword after you beat him, right?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I used it to fight Luke after I finished Prometheus off with it at camp. My dad took it to Olympus so Hephaestus could remove the anti-lightning enchantments on it and replace it with ones that strengthen my lightning and aura. He also added some chains to the hilt, good for some long-ranged variety and good for capturing people." I rose an eyebrow at Matt. "Do you hate my father?"
Matt did a double take at my sudden question, before sighing. "That's a…very complicated question. I mean, Zeus did help out me and my group on the Cursed Island, but he didn't help here. I know he said something about Fate being angry with him for interfering and changing the course of intended history, but come on, he's Zeus." Matt was quite for a second, before continuing. "I just wish he had been able to help, then things wouldn't have gone nearly as badly and everyone would be alive."
I was silent for a little bit, mulling over Matt's reasons in my head. Eventually, I spoke. "If you do hate him, it's understandable. I spent the longest time hating him before I met him." Matt looked at me in confusion and shock, as if I had said something completely out of character. I rose an eyebrow. "What? Is that really surprising? Every demigod child has the same thoughts at some point. Wondering why their divine parent was never there, knowing they could have made everything so easy if they had just done everything for you. You've had the same thoughts about your father."
Matt looked at the ground, silent for a few seconds. "Yeah. Yeah, you're right." But Matt wasn't really ready to give up his position so easily. "But this situation was different. It's not like I want Zeus to come in every time we run into trouble and just solve all the issues for us, that's childish." Matt huffed, still slightly aggravated by the whole turn of events. "But this was important. Ouranos was there of all people, in one of the most vulnerable states he could have possibly been in. If Zeus had helped us, we could have ended him once and for all."
I nodded in agreement with Matt's reasoning. "Yeah, you're probably right, Matt. But like I said, my dad is usually limited by the Fates, although the limitation is self-imposed, at least in my universe. You probably saw my father's ultimatum he gave me about Calypso and Percy, right?" Matt nodded, confirming my question. "I'm not sure of his intentions over here, but in my universe he's doing his best to the best king he can."
Matt sighed again. "I just don't understand his reasoning, I guess. He has the power to end Ouranos now with no effort if he stepped in, but he chooses not to. I don't get it." Matt shook his head. "But enough about that for right now. When you showed me your memories, I noticed I didn't gain the information on how you thought Iapetus and Luke got here. What is that about?"
I took a breath and blinked. "Alright, well, I wanted to show you that a little differently than the other stuff. Remember how Harper and Levi showed you their past in their mind?" I referred to the ability that the children of Nemesis had, in which Matt nodded to. "I'll be doing the same, just my own little version of it."
I closed my eyes again and took another deep breath. "Alright, another link, here we go." I felt the familiar buzz in my head once more, once again linking both my mind and Matt's.
(000)
Both me and Matt opened our eyes, seeing a familiar island down beneath us. We were floating in the air thousands of feet above the island, completely weightless. Matt blinked for a couple of seconds, looking at his arms, which were ethereal. In fact, both his and my forms were ethereal, almost like spirits. "Woah. This feels pretty familiar." Matt looked down on the island. "Where are we? This is a memory, right?"
I nodded at Matt's question. "Yes, this is a memory. In fact, this took place about a week ago." I pointed at the island below the two of us. "And to answer your other question, this place is Polyphemus' island, where I fought Luke and Koios over a year and a half ago." I chuckled a bit, remembering the rather irritating battle. "It feels like it's been a lot longer than only a year and a half, though."
I floated down to the island, descending down towards the ocean. Matt followed me, and the two of us quickly floated down to the shoreline of the landmass in a matter of seconds. When we both touched the ground, Matt's eyes widened with realization as he spotted three figures nearby. "Is that..?"
I looked at the three forms approaching the island in a makeshift rocky boat, all of their appearances familiar. "Yeah. That's me, Percy and Nico." The three of us landed on the shore in Vision Percy's rockboat, quickly getting out and being on guard. Memory Zane looked the exact same a I did currently, as the events of this Memory happened only a week ago. He had his massive sword drawn, ready for action.
Memory Percy also didn't look too much differently from the last time we saw him, complete with his signature manbun and all. His hair was a bit longer and he definitely was older, looking nearly the same age and having the same muscle mass as Alternate Percy from Matt's dimension. He had Riptide already in it's sword form, a sea green flare of aura already around the blade.
The one who looked the most different was Memory Nico. He had cut his shoulder length black hair in the months we had broken up, returning to his more medium length style he had when we had picked him up from the Lotus Hotel. He looked like he had aged the most, as he was well over fourteen years old now. He almost looked exactly like his Alternate counterpart from Matt's universe, just way stronger and slightly younger looking.
The tension between Memory Zane and Memory Nico was palpable, and you couldn't probably cut it with a knife. Memory Percy was deliberately standing between us, and we did our absolute best to ignore each other. We all had our weapons drawn, and it looked like we were ready for a fight at any moment.
Matt looked at the three memory shades, an eyebrow risen on his face. "Why would the three strongest people in your camp be on Polyphemus' island of all places, especially after you already have the Golden Fleece in your universe? What's going on? Was Luke up to something here?"
I watched as the three Memory versions of me, Nico and Percy stalked into the forest of Polyphemus' island. "You could say something like that, but he wasn't here directly. For some context, about a week ago, about a day before the events of this memory took place, Olympian Scouts felt the aura of a powerful immortal enter the Sea of Monsters. All of the Olympians were busy with war preparations, including my father, so we were sent to check it out."
I floated after the three Memory shades, Matt following behind me. "By this point, we've pretty much searched the entire Sea. We'd been to Circe's Island, Scylla and Charbydis, and even the Clashing Rocks. This was the last place we needed to check out."
Both me and Matt followed the memory shades through the forest, eventually coming into the area where I murdered Chris Rodriguez. The memory flashed through my thoughts, making me cringe. Matt knew what I was thinking, as he'd seen the particular memory before, but he didn't say anything. We continued to follow the shades, before we started to see torn apart landscape.
Matt picked up on this as well. "This is were you fought Luke and Koios, right?" I nodded, but Matt wasn't finished. "I feel a familiar aura over there close to the center of all the damage. Is that..Iapetus?" Matt seemed deep in thought. "In your fight with Luke and Koios, didn't Koios create a giant cube that weighed more than the Earth? That would have had a lot of pressure on the ground. And immense amounts of pressure creates Heavenly Diamond….and Iapetus had Heavenly Diamond on his shield….and he's right over that way in the memory…"
I smirked at Matt put the puzzle together before he saw the answer. "Bingo." We came up on the crazy haired Titan alongside the memory shades, seeing him digging through the cracked and flattened ground. He looked the same as he did when he attacked Matt's camp alongside Luke, wearing the goofy jumpsuit and all, complete with his spear. He was, however, missing his shield.
Memory Zane looked at the Titan rummaging through the dirt, before crossing his armored arms and smirking. "Well, well, well. Who are you supposed to be?" Iapetus tensed up, before turning to look at my memory shade. Memory Zane immediately cracked up seeing his crazy hair and blue jumpsuit. "An immortal Janitor? You have got to be kidding me."
Memory Percy also smiled alongside Memory Zane. "I swear, ever since we came back from this very island, our enemies have been getting wackier. And now we come back here and find you." Memory Percy looked back and forth between Memory Nico and Memory Zane. "Who wants to take out the trash?"
The insults immediately set Memory Iapetus right off. Memory Iapetus shot up from the ground, his massive hand gripping around his silver spear. "You dare to insult the mighty Iapetus The Impaler, the Titan of the West!?" Memory Iapetus' silver aura burst around his massive, muscular form. "I will destroy you pale copies of your parents and impale all three of you upon my spike!"
Memory Iapetus thrust out one of his large arms, sending a burst of silver aura in our direction to incinerate us. However, before it could even close half the distance, all three of the memory shades transformed into their elevated state. Memory Zane in his Thunder Form, Memory Percy in his Earthshaker Form, and Memory Nico in his Shadow Form.
Memory Percy simply punched the air, unleashing a vibrational blast of energy which completely dispersed Memory Iapetus' energy wall, staggering the Titan back. Memory Nico vanished in a burst of speed, appearing right in front of Memory Iapetus. Memory Nico coated his fist in his signature black aura, slamming it into Memory Iapetus' gut. Memory Iapetus' eyes bugged out of his skull, before he was sent flying back, skidding in the cracked dirt.
Memory Zane simply floated in the air above Memory Iapetus' fallen form, conjuring a powerful blast of lightning in his left hand. He thrust his hand forwards calmy, and an immensely bright burst of electricity erupted from his palm. The blast slammed into Memory Iapetus body, completely coating him in a flash of light that removed him from view.
As Memory Zane floated back to the ground, Memory Nico scoffed at how easily the three of them had dispatched Iapetus. "Weak and pathetic. Seriously, the gods really had to send us to deal with this worthless excuse for a Titan because they were 'too busy?'" In the past six months, any of Nico's outgoing and friendly personality had almost vanished. After we broke up, he became bitter, quiet, and almost abrasive. He reminded me way too much of his alternate version.
Beside me, Matt looked on in surprise on how we easily defeated Iapetus like he was nothing. "How did you guys defeat him so quickly? I know the three of you are very powerful, but it's almost sad how easily he went down." Matt looked at me, confusion on his face. "Iapetus was so much stronger when we fought him at Camp. What gives?"
I looked at the down Iapetus, who could now been clearly seen as Memory Zane's powerful lightning blast had vanished. He was barely moving, groaning and twitching in pain in the cracked ground. "He had that piece of Heavenly Diamond in his shield when you fought him. I'm not sure how, but it passively amps his strength, as he can draw from it's power almost without even meaning to. He can draw even more strength to further amplify him, but he actually has to try when he does that."
I shook my head. "Anyway, this Iapetus doesn't have that Diamond, so he's much weaker and only around the strength of your average Olympian, which me, Percy and Nico are far beyond at this point in power." I looked at Iapetus' twitching hand, which was feeling around in the cracked and damaged dirt for something. "However, that's about to change real quick."
Memory Nico coated his Stygian Iron Sword with his aura, and he started to stalk towards the downed Titan. "Let's hurry up and finish this embarrassment off. I want to get back to Camp before the day is over. Sleeping in that rock boat sucks." Memory Nico stood over the fallen Titan, a smirk adorning his features. "You know, I haven't actually finished off a Titan before. You're going to be my first."
Memory Iapetus, despite how injured he already was, gave Memory Nico a ichor-stained smile. "A shame, son of Hades. A true shame." Memory Nico's face scrunched up in confusion at Memory Iapetus' words. Memory Iapetus' smirk turned into a downright grin. "A shame that you will die as the bronze metal!"
Memory Iapetus then ripped his hand out of the dirt, revealing his finger clutched around a chunk of Heavenly Diamond, the very same one he would eventually put in his shield. Memory Nico's jaw then dropped in realization, right before he was sent flying back by a burst of silver energy filled with black chaotic particles that erupted from the Diamond.
Memory Nico smashed into the ground several dozen feet away, skidding in the dirt and tearing up the landscape even more. Memory Zane's eyes widened at the sight, and he quickly appeared right beside Nico in a burst of speed. "Nico! Are you alright!?"" Memory Zane put his hand on Memory Nico's shoulder, a look of concern on his face.
Memory Nico immediately batted Memory Zane's arm away. "Get the hell off me! I'm fine!" Memory Nico quickly pulled himself back on his feet, although his legs were shaking. The blast had affected him more than he let on, and he was trying to put on a tough front.
A look of hurt crossed over Memory Zane's face, but he quickly concealed it with a hard look. "Fine, if you say so." Memory Zane's tone was as cold as ice, although he or I didn't really have any room to be cross. I was the one who cheated on him. Memory Zane turned away from Memory Nico, looking back at the Titan. "How the fuck did you get that? That chaos shit is only supposed to be on Atlas' mountain or in p-"
"-laces of great pressure." Memory Iapetus finished for Memory Zane, a smirk on his face. "I seem to remember being told by my Lord that you specifically held up something even heavier than Atlas' Burden right here in this very spot on this island. Something that has enough pressure to create even more of this cursed material. Correct, son of Zeus?"
Memory Zane's face turned white as a piece of paper as the words rolled out of Memory Iapetus' mouth, before his features immediately became deadly serious. "You have absolutely no idea how dangerous Heavenly Diamond really is, Iapetus. Now put that shit down right now, before I sent you to Tartarus. Permanently." Memory Zane took Thymos off his belt, showing just how serious his threat was.
Surprisingly, Memory Iapetus was completely unperturbed. "I think that you are the one who does not realize the gravity of this material, Zane Williams. You run around with a weapon made of this cursed material, using it as if it was a shiny trinket. You do not understand it's potential." Memory Iapetus' aura immediately exploded, the silver aura being filled with dark particles.
Matt's face lit up in recognition beside me. "That's what he used when he fought me, Malachi and Percy. He lined his aura slightly with the power of Heavenly Diamond, and it made him even stronger." His eyebrows furrowed at Memory Iapetus' burning aura. "He's still weaker than even his normal strength when I fought him."
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Somehow, he's gotten even more proficient using the Heavenly Diamond, not only to actively strengthen his power, but passively as well. Maybe it has something to deal with his shield on his back, I'm not sure." I looked back at the memory. "Either way, he's weaker here and the Diamond doesn't help him much."
Memory Zane immediately dropped into a fighting stance at Memory Iapetus incredible strength increase. "Percy, Nico. Let's deal with this motherfucker, right now. Fast and hard." Memory Percy and Memory Nico immediately fell behind me and we charged right at Memory Iapetus.
Despite Memory Iapetus now being much stronger, the fight was still a one sided slaughter. There was three of us and only one of him, and we were all still stronger than him individually, except for maybe Memory Nico. Memory Iapetus tried to impale and slice us to pieces with his spear as we attacked him, but we were all too fast and powerful for his attacks to work. He even tried to channel pure energy into blasts to annihilate us, but with three of us and considering how fast we were, Iapetus could do absolutely nothing.
Memory Nico slammed his foot into the side of memory Iapetus' head, staggering him to the side. Memory Iapetus, angered by the attack from the son of Hades, tried to blast him into oblivion with an energy charge from the Diamond. Memory Nico, however, simply melded into the shadows, shadow travelling right behind Memory Iapetus.
Memory Nico smashed his fist into Memory Iapetus' back, sending the Titan forward of the ground. Memory Percy warped his arm into a glowing water whip and sent it towards Memory Iapetus, wrapping the whip around his torso. Memory Percy jerked his arm towards himself, pulling the constrained Titan to his position. When Memory Iapetus got close, Memory Percy reared his other rocky arm back and slammed it into Memory Iapetus' chest.
Memory Iapetus' eyes bugged out of his head once more, and time seemed to freeze for a split second. Suddenly, a burst of pure vibrational energy was released as soon as Memory Percy's fist slammed into the Titan, sending Memory Iapetus flying backwards with a pained grunt. Before Memory Iapetus could fly off into the distance from the force of Memory Percy's strike, Memory Zane appeared right in front of Memory Iapetus' trajectory.
Memory Zane simply held out one of his armored hands, and Memory Iapetus instantly stopped mid flight. Memory Iapetus gasped as Memory Zane held up both hands to the sky in a raised position. Thunder clouds immediately formed above and swirled with power, crackling with lightning. Before Memory Iapetus could even blink, a powerful blue flash of lightning struck from the clouds above, completely enveloping the Titan's form.
Memory Iapetus crashed to the ground, his heavily damaged form smoking and his skin practically boiled. The Titan tried to push himself to his feet, but the sheer amount of damage he received from that lightning blast alone impeded him considerably.
Memory Zane floated back down towards the ground, a fierce glare on his face. "Stay down, Iapetus. Even with that chunk of Heavenly Diamond, you can't win. You stand no chance." Memory Zane was completely right. Despite Memory Iapetus' increase in sheer power thanks to the Heavenly Diamond, he was simply outnumbered and outmatch by all three of the shades.
Memory Iapetus either didn't hear Memory Zane, or he just didn't care. The incredible amount of wounds he had on his body flooded with Ichor, however his regeneration seemed to be sped up from the Heavenly Diamond somehow, which was odd. Memory Iapetus pulled himself to one knee, clutching the Diamond with one ichor-stained hand. "N-No…this cannot be the extent of this material's might…"
Memory Iapetus suddenly grabbed the diamond with his other hand as well, holding it in front of him. "And this cannot be where I fall! I will not be defeated!" Memory Iapetus' aura suddenly increased massively, his silver cage appearing around him once more, nearly twice the size now. The sudden and unexpected burst of power caught all of us off guard, and we were sent back several feet.
The chunk of Heavenly Diamond started to glow brightly, and both me and Matt could feel the chaotic energy surging in the chunk Memory Iapetus was holding. "What the hell is he doing? Why is he so recklessly trying to draw out more power from that piece of Heavenly Diamond? Doesn't he know that could kill him permanently?" Matt asked me, slight bewilderment on his face.
I nodded. "Probably, although I doubt he really cares right now. He knows if he fails here, I'd kill him with Thymos and it's game over for him after that. He's trying to pull something out of his ass." I motioned towards Memory Iapetus. "And that's exactly what he does."
Back to the scene before me and Matt, Memory Iapetus' wounds all quickly close up, somehow being fully repaired by the Heavenly Diamond. Then, a black, chaotic aura completely surrounds the Titan, one that showcased the Chaotic power surging through him. Just before it seemed like the sheer amount of power that was surging through Memory Iapetus looked like it was going to cause him to pop, a rip was formed.
A tear in reality, one very similar to the one that I had created when I first met Matt and his friends opened up right on top of Memory Iapetus' form. It quickly sucked him through, very similar to how the unstable portal Luke made to try to escape my father. All three of the memory shades immediately felt the pull of the portal start to affect them and pull them closer.
As quickly as possible, Memory Zane thrusted out one of his hands, creating a telekinetic barrier around the unstable tear in reality. In a scene that looked just like when my father had saved all of us back at camp from Luke's portal, Memory Zane held back the rip's affects with just his mind alone. The tear, unlike the first portal to Matt's reality, only lasted for a few seconds.
The rip quickly unraveled and then disappeared entirely, allowing Memory Zane to drop the barrier he created. All of the memory shades looked like they were in shock, as they hadn't expected something like that to happen in the slightest. "Well….shit." Memory Zane said, as nothing else could really be said anyway.
After Memory Zane uttered those words, the entire memory froze in time and became completely grey, like a 1950s TV show. Both me and Matt immediately ceased being transparent ethereal beings, returning to normal.
Matt looked at the frozen scene, his brows furrowed. "So that's how Iapetus got over to my universe, huh?" Matt then rose an eyebrow. "But that doesn't explain why Luke was here as well. And why the hell would they try to kill me as the first thing they do when hoping through to another reality?"
I shook my head. "Well, Matt, these events happened a week ago, like I said. Iapetus probably had a good while to roam around in your universe, gathering information or something. After he did that, I'm pretty sure he came back and got Luke to come over to your universe with him at some point. As to why they would try to kill you, I have absolutely no clue about that. I'm in the dark just as much as you are about it, man."
That explanation seemed to satisfy Matt's questions, before he looked at me again. "Alright, but how did you know we were in trouble in the first place? You also came through a rift above camp right when Luke was about to kill me."
Explanation time once more. "Well, our aura bond told me you were in trouble." Matt's face scrunched up in confusion at my simple answer. "It's something I honestly figured out kind of recently, but if we focus on each other's aura without our own energy, we can kind of feel what's going on with the other at that moment." I rubbed the top of my head, a sheepish smile on my face. "And about half an hour ago is when I did it, so right about when you were going to get killed by Luke. I had no clue about the danger you were in before that."
Matt's face looked a little pale when those words came out my mouth, and he looked like he was realizing just how close he had been to death there. More than he thought he was already, it seemed. He rubbed a hand over his face, sighing. "Well, good thing you felt I was in danger when you did, otherwise I think we would have all been screwed."
I nodded. "Seriously. Luke doesn't fuck around, unless he's being a stereotypical megalomaniacal anime supervillain." I sighed. "Alright, well, I'll end the mental link now. We've been in here long enough." I closed my eyes, ignoring the buzzing feeling in my head as I cut the link between my mind and Matt's. The greyed out frozen world completely faded away into black.
(000)
I opened my eyes, finding myself back in Matt's cabin sitting across from the son of Hercules just as he opened his eyes as well. Matt stood up and took a depth breath. "Well, that was certainly educational." His face took on a more concerned look. "What are we going to do about Luke, though? Someone as strong and evil as he is can't just be allowed to run around free, especially after he nearly killed us all. But we don't even have a lead on where he is, or what he's even doing here."
I stood up as well, stretched out my back as I did so. "I'm not exactly sure, Matt. He can hide his aura just like his, and while we might be able to track traces of his aura, I'm not so sure we're ready just yet to take him on. If we really annoy him, he'll just use his time stopping power to immediately kill both of us." I sighed. "We'll have to play his game if we're going to stand any chance against him."
Matt nodded. "You're probably right. Maybe tomorrow we can go to Olympus, maybe ask for some help from the gods there in finding him." Matt looked slightly aggravated. "Although, I don't really want to run into Zeus if we go there. I don't think I'm ready to see him again yet."
I waved off his concerns. "Don't worry about it, buddy. If we do run into him, I'll do all the talking. I doubt he'll have any idea to be mad at you if he sees his son from an alternate universe." I looked outside the window, noting the sun was starting to go down. "It sure is getting late already. Dinner is about to start soon, right?"
Matt nodded once more. "Yeah, it'll be done in a little while, although the whole 'camp got attacked again' thing might put a damper on the speed of things just a little bit." Matt took off his black cloak, the one that allowed him to talk to the dead, apparently. "I'm going to go see if I can help a bit with the clean up, maybe speed things up a bit more." He looked at me. "Make yourself at home, if you want. You can stay with me in my cabin tonight, I'll get Talon to conjure you a bed or something. I'll see you at dinner, man."
The two of us fistbumped, and Matt walked out of the door, leaving me to myself inside his cabin. I sat down once again, taking in the décor of Matt's humble abode. He made my cabin look like a dinky mancave shack, especially with the absolutely epic statue of Hercules in here. He didn't have a king sized bed, though, which was something I recently attained once more.
I left Matt's cabin after a few minutes, heading towards the Arena. I wanted to get a little bit of light training in before dinner, and since I wasn't going to be destructive, the Arena was the perfect place to do so. Something about it just gave me feelings of nostalgia. It brought me back to when both me and Taylor would train together with Luke.
I missed the guy Luke used to be. I didn't really like to think about it very much, but Luke was the guy I used to look up to, the guy I strived to be like when I first came here to camp. He was almost the perfect demigod: strong, fast, kind, humble and charismatic. Back before he was manipulated into joining Kronos' cause.
But now, the former demigod basically was the Titan of Time. The two had fused essences back at the Sea of Monsters, which was allowing Kronos to practically take over Luke's body like a parasite. I don't even know how Luke still even had a mind of his own, as I knew an immortal deity trying to completely merge with and basically replace you was something pretty heavy.
Or maybe the fusion didn't work the way Luke or I thought it did. I'm not sure how it works at all, but Luke was showing much more of Kronos' personality traits every time I saw him, so maybe Luke would eventually be completely replaced by Kronos' mind one day. He did even call my father, Zeus, 'son.'
But enough about the traitor former demigod. I walked into the arena, noting nobody was here. It was late in the afternoon, and everyone was likely helping with the clean up, so that explained the absence of demigods.
I took of my armor, leaving me shirtless wearing nothing but a pair of black gym shorts, as I didn't like to train in my armor. I felt much more at home in regular clothes while exercising. I withdrew Prometheus' sword on my back, hitting the hilt to cause it to fly from its sheathe and into my hand.
I started to go through different forms of fighting with the massive, eight foot long blade, incorporating the several abilities of the weapon Prometheus had built into it as I did so. Fire, Poison, Magical Lightning and Curse. All of them very powerful and very deadly, in their own way of course. I spun the blade in my hand like a pocket knife, as that's all the massive blade felt like, despite it's impressive weight.
Eventually, I felt a couple of auras enter the Arena. They was familiar, although one of them was weaker than I remember it being. Still training, I watched two familiar figures walk up to the fighting square I was currently in. Nico and Aiden Walker. Or I should say, Alternate Nico and Aiden Walker. I paid them no mind as I continued to train, whirling around like a wind demon with the massive blade.
I trained for maybe about five minutes, the son of Hades and the son of Nemesis watching me in silence the entire time. I didn't bother to say anything, as flashes of my own Nico went through my thoughts every time I laid eyes on this world's version of my ex-boyfriend.
Eventually, I completed my small little training kata, not winded in the slightest. I put the tip of my massive blade on the ground, turning to Alternate Nico and Aiden as I did so. "Can I help you two?" I asked the alternate counterpart of the son of Hades and the son of Nemesis with a raised eyebrow on my face. What exactly did they want?
However, what I saw was actually relatively surprising. I looked at Alternate Nico, seeing how he had changed over the past year since I had seen him in this dimension. He looked just a little older, although not by too much. His haircut was the same and he might have been an inch or two taller, although I still towered over him.
Aiden Walker also didn't look that much different. He was still taller than Alternate Nico, and still looked like a Walmart version of Percy. He might of looked a little older and his hair was a little longer, but otherwise he mostly remained the same. Huh, I guess people don't really change much over a year in Matt's universe?
Back to what had surprised me, is the fact that both of their faces were red. Well, Alternate Nico's cheeks were more of a dusty pink while Aiden's were actually bright red. I rose an eyebrow in surprise, wondering what exactly could be making them so flustered. Then I looked down at my shirtless, six foot four, two hundred and twenty-five-pound frame, and I understood. Oh. Oh.
Alternate Nico seemed like he was in a slight trance, before he realized I had said something. "U-Uh.." Alternate Nico coughed and cleared his throat, pointedly not looking me in the eye. "Uh, dinner is about to start, and Matt couldn't find you in his cabin. He was busy so he sent us to come and get you." Alternate Nico motioned to the fighting square. "You also looked…busy."
Aiden, while his face was redder, was apparently less embarrassed. "Yeah, I'll say." The son of Nemesis blurted out, a slight grin on his red face. "You're that Zane guy we met last year, right? That son of Zeus from another universe who helped kill that Grayson bastard last year? I saw you fighting that Luke dude who kicked everyone's ass earlier."
I smiled slightly at Aiden's enthusiastic behavior. "Yeah, I'm 'that Zane guy.'" I hefted my massive sword up on my shoulder, something that made both Alternate Nico and Aiden both blush harder. "Your name was Aiden Walker, the son of Nemesis, correct? I remember meeting the two of you in the cemetery last year. Sorry I lied about everything back then, I could have avoided a lot of problems if I had just told the truth."
Aiden's gaze was looking directly at my shirtless torso, and I wasn't sure he heard a word I said. He caught himself after a couple of seconds, nervously chuckling. "H-Hehe, y-yeah, it's no problem. I mean, if you didn't, maybe you wouldn't have shown up to save all of our asses, right?" We fell into a silence again, both of the two demigods continuing to stare at me. I felt my own face heat up slightly from the attention, although I'm pretty sure my beard hid it. Eventually, Aiden had one hell of an icebreaker. "Sooo…how did you get so hot?"
Alternate Nico's face immediately turned into a look of embarrassed horror. "A-Aiden!" Alternate Nico's face turned just as red as the son of Nemesis'. Seeing a version of Nico act embarrassed because of me made me feel…sad. It had been a few months since I broke up with my own Nico, although the pain still felt fresh.
Aiden's face turn into a sheepish grin as he turned back to Alternate Nico. "S-Sorry, Nico. But come on! You know you were thinking it as well." Alternate Nico's face just turned even redder, but he didn't say another word. Aiden turned back to me and comically nearly appeared in the fight square. "So come on, spill the beans. What did you do to look like this?" Aiden started to poke my right tricep repeatedly.
I chuckled at bit at Aiden's antics. "Well, if you have to know, I worked out with weights enchanted to weigh trillions and trillions of tons. That's how I got my muscle mass." I motioned towards myself. "The rest is all just divine genetics."
Alternate Nico stepped forwards close to the fighting square, embarrassment all over his red face. "L-Look, enough of…whatever…this…is. Dinner is about to start and we were sent to come and fetch you. Now let's go." Alternate Nico practically shadow travelled right beside Aiden, grabbing him by the ear. "And later, me and you are going to have a chat, Walker." Aiden immediately started to protest, something Alternate Nico was having none of.
I smirked at the antics of the two, despite feeling a little hollow on the inside. Seeing any version of Nico right now was not the best thing in the world for me. "Alright, alright. Let me get my armor on and we can go." I did just that, slipping on all of my Universal Titanium armor, and resheathing my massive blade on my back.
The three of us walked through camp, moving towards the pavilion in silence. Alternate Nico surprisingly was the one to break said silence. "So, you still with that redhead and the kid version of myself? Or have you already screwed that up yet?" Alternate Nico's tone was sarcastic, but not intentionally
Alternate Nico's question made me stop in my tracks and my face go cold. Both Aiden and Alternate Nico turned around, confusion on their face. "No. I'm not with them anymore, either of them. I did in fact, 'screw it up.'" I put as much bitterness as possible into my words, although I knew I was being unfair, as Alternate Nico couldn't have known. "Let's just get to the fucking pavilion already."
The rest of the walk was painfully awkward, and none of us said a single word. We made it to the pavilion, where dinner had already started. Alternate Percy was in the middle, eating at the same table as Dionysus, looking stressed and somewhat worried about everything in general. I took a seat at the Zeus table, which was surprisingly inhabited by Talon and Malachi.
"Well, look who it is. Zeus' all powerful sperm incarnate." I sat down at the table, ignoring the joke, something I wouldn't normally do. Talon, the perceptive guy he was, noticed this. He also likely noticed my somber and cold facial expression "Hey, kid. Are you alright? Ya seem a little down."
I nodded, trying to put on a more jovial expression. "Yeah, I'm all good, Mr. divine redneck. Just had a bit on my mind." Inwardly, I thought about how I could ask the son of Nikandreos the same thing, as even all downcast I could hear the fake bluster in Talon's tone. "So, you two sit here at Zeus' table?"
Malachi, who was looking slightly better than earlier, nodded. "Yes. There is no Nikandreos cabin, as his existence is an open secret, and this camp would never make a cabin for one such as vile as my father. Due to this, we take up residence in the Zeus cabin, as it is was vacant before our arrival."
Malachi's literal tone struck me, as it pointed out despite how similar we were in appearance, we were practically opposites in personality. I already knew this from Matt's memories, but seeing it in person was odd. "Well, without me existing here, I guess there's been no one in that cabin for a long, long while, huh?"
Talon, who was eating a fillet mignon off a plate, shook his head. "Nah, there was someone else who lived there before us but after that Thalia chick. He's been dead for awhile, but I think his name was Jason Grace or something. I don't really remember, water boy over there only told me the story once." Jason Grace? As in Thalia Grace? Hm, that was something I had to keep in my memory for now. Maybe in my universe I'd run into whoever Jason Grace was down the line?
I nodded at Talon's explanation, taking a bite out of a fried chicken breast. "Hm, interesting to know. Anyway, I talked to Matt earlier and saw all his memories about everything in the past year. You all went through some crazy shit last month, huh?"
Talon downed a drink from his cup in one go, the drink probably being beer. "Whatever Superman showed you ain't even the half of it, kid." Talon sat up a bit, and I could tell he was already about to start a story. "First, Goth Girl's brother shows back up in camp, causes quite a stir. Then, I get sent to some alternate universe by some crazy fucking magic lunatic. And finally, I get used as a punching bag by a big ass Titan on top of a mountain."
One part of Talon's little tangent caught Malachi's attention, as he perked up slightly. "You mentioned an alternate universe. One that monster Hendricks sent you to." When Malachi said the word 'monster', there was a large amount of clear hatred deep in his tone. If I remember correctly from Matt's memories, that creepy bastard had been Sera's warden and whoever had been keeping Malachi in check.
Malachi continued. "What kind of universe did he send you to, Talon? Matt told me about the perfect world Hendricks had tried to trap him in, one where everyone he knew was a mortal, including himself. What sort of plane did you end up on?"
Malachi's question had brought all the false bluster out of Talon like air from a balloon. His face turned somber and almost…sad. "Well….I…" Talon struggled to get the word's out, as if there was an invisible force keeping him from speaking. Finally, Talon found the means. "H-Hendricks sent me to a world…where I managed to escape the island with both you and Sera."
Malachi's eyes widened at Talon's reveal, and I felt like I was intruding on a very personal moment between the two of them. Talon continued to explain. "We all three got away from that fucking place in that world. We were living our lives out in the Midwest, driving around in this big RV, doing whatever we felt like." A sad smile came up onto Talon's face. "It was…well, it was perfect. It's everything I wanted my life to be."
Talon fell silent, not saying another word. I was curious about the demigod cowboy's thoughts, so I used my Telepathy, specifically my emotion sensing to tell what the son of Nikandreos was thinking. I felt…guilt. Guilt and longing. From what Matt's memories told me, Talon escaped the island alone, leaving both Malachi and Sera behind to do so.
"You still feel guilty for leaving them, don't you?" I said, getting Talon's attention. Even with his sunglasses on, I could still see the shock on Talon's face from my knowledge. I tapped the side of my head. "Remember, I've seen everything Matt has seen with my Telepathy. I know your story and I can feel your emotions. Not too hard to put two and two together."
I expected Talon to react with anger or maybe even denial, but he simply sighed softly. "Of course I feel guilty, kid. I left my best friends in the entire world behind in the worst place I can think of just to save my own worthless neck."
Malachi, was quick to jump to his best friend's defense from his own words. "Talon. You need not feel guilty about your decision to leave alone. It was practically your only chance you would have had to escape and I don't blame you for taking it. In fact, It was likely for the best you did so. Who knows what could have happened if you had not left?"
Talon sighed, but gave Malachi a smirk. "Well, I can't promise I won't beat myself up over it til the day I die, but I'll stop bitching about it in front of you if it makes me feel any better." Malachi smiled at Talon's words, and even I couldn't help but crack a small grin. Talon's face then turned dastardly, before he leaned over the table with an almost devilish grin. "Now, which one of you girls have heard of a Cleavland Steamer?"
The rest of dinner was an awesome affair, as I got to know both Malachi and Talon quite a bit more. I found out Talon was a terrible singer whenever he got drunk, and Malachi, despite his power and serious demeanor, was a complete dork. He had also never played a video game before, which honestly shocked me. The three of us spent the entire dinner mostly just conversing, learning more about each other.
Once dinner wrapped up, I followed Matt back to his cabin, and the two of us walked through camp once more. "Didn't see you at dinner until the very end, Matt. Where were you at?" I asked, wondering were the son of Hercules had been for the past hour.
Matt, looking even more tired than the last time I saw him, sighed. Whoa, he actually had bags under his eyes. "I was talking with Harper and then with Percy once I showed up here. We were trying to figure what to do about Luke and where to start, since we don't have many leads just yet." Matt shook his head. "I just want one good month of peace where we don't have to deal with something crazy for once."
I clapped Matt on the shoulder. "Well, we deal with Luke and we'll both be able to have that. Don't worry too much about Luke. He might try to put on this big act where he's this all powerful divine king, but really he's just a whiny kid under all that shit. We'll be able to handle him, don't worry."
Matt breathed out, wiping his eyes. "Yeah. Yeah, you're right, man. We got him handled." Me and Matt finally made it to his cabin, and I followed the son of Hercules inside. There was another bed besides Matt's own inside, one that hadn't been there earlier when we had talked. "I had Talon materialize this before dinner, so you can sleep on this tonight."
I plopped right down on the bed, still wearing my armor. The bed felt soft, even softer than my new bed I had recently gotten for my own cabin back in my universe. "A king sized bed, huh?" I asked, a smirk building on my face.
Matt returned the smile. "Well, your memories told me how much you missed it after Thalia moved in with you first time we met, so I made sure Talon got you one to sleep on." Matt yawned, moving over to his own bed. "Well, I'm crashing immediately, dude. Today was a crazy day." Matt gave me another fistbump and turned the light off. "Goodnight, man."
"Goodnight, dude." I rolled over on my side in the new bed, taking off my armor so I could be comfortable while I slept. While my mind had been occupied on everything that had happened today, I was very tired. Apparently getting into reality shaking fights wore you out, at least mentally. As such, it didn't take me very long to slip into Morpheus' realm.

The next time my eyes opened, I was in a forest. Not one of your typical oak tree forests you see in an average horror movie, but a bamboo forest. I looked at the tall bamboo trees which seemed to span hundreds of feet tall in bewilderment, before looking down at my hands. They were see through and translucent, just like they were in my memory plane.
I turned around, suddenly nearly coming face to face with Matt. Both of us jumped back, surprised of each other's presence. Like me, Matt was also see through and translucent, looking like a spirit or an astral being.
The two of us looked at each other in complete confusion for a few seconds, before the both of us suddenly blurted out the exact same thing. "What the fuck?"

Boo-yah, yall. Second chapter of the Scythe of Chaos is done. This one was filled with some character interactions and some much needed context, although the puzzle isn't exactly complete just yet. This crossover is going to be bigger than anything we've ever done before, and definitely the biggest fanfiction crossover between stories ever. We have about ten chapters planned, and we're in for a wild ride.
Anyway, have a good one, y'all and take care. Next chapter will be written by Echoxenvy, and it's gonna be a banger. Peace!
