Subject Delta wandered the underwater, destroyed city of Rapture, looking for the little sister he was assigned to protect.
Delta was failing in his mission; he knew that well because his body was beginning to fail.
Maybe he could get out of Rapture and find Eleanor. Although unlikely, it was good to stay in a positive mindset despite the circumstances.
This time, Delta's mission led him to Andrew Ryan's office. Delta felt like he was going to be reprimanded or praised by Ryan just out of view. but Ryan's dead body was in front of his own desk, head smashed in, and a golf club next to it.
Ryan's death happened years ago; Delta knew that just by looking at it.
And yet Delta felt like Ryan's rotting corpse would rise and attack him.
The hell known as Rapture was a place where anything could happen, after all.
While Delta was looking around, he saw a book out of place on the shelf.
Delta thought it would be important and grabbed it, but the shelf swung open, revealing a secret room.
Of course, a man like Andrew Ryan would have a secret room in his office.
Inside the newly revealed room was a large, bulky, circular machine with a control panel with a small screen on it that said, "Remnant." And a button next to it.
Delta thought maybe the device was a contingency plan for if things went wrong, 'it must've been a failure, or else things wouldn't be like this.' He thought to himself.
But then another possibility popped into Delta's mind: what if it was a portal to somewhere safe? What if Eleanor had gone through it?
It was a slim chance, but it was still more likely than his original idea.
Delta pressed the button on the control panel and watched as the machine activated.
Delta entered the machine and passed out.
When Delta awoke, he was in a forest, something he hadn't seen since his birth.
Delta's feeling of fatigue from being too far away from Eleanor had gone away. His theory was correct.
Delta then stood in wonder at the trees and the sky. To him, it was the most beautiful thing in the world.
Delta's wonder was interrupted by something big coming his way, and fast.
Delta prepared his drill and the electroshock plasmid.
A giant creature that looked like it was made of darkness with bits of bone making a form of armor on its face came barreling towards him.
But the bone armor was no match for Delta drilling into it.
The monster was killed almost instantly, but more came along with it.
There were at least 12 of the dark monsters. But Delta stood determined to find Eleanor, put away his drill, pulled out his minigun, and fired into the crowd of monsters with one hand.
A rain of rivets came towards the monsters, shredding most of them.
The sound produced by the minigun was much louder than any other gun would produce in this world, which alerted more than just the dark monsters.
Delta held down the trigger until the magazine ran out.
By then, all of the monsters were dead, but what surprised Delta was that their bodies had evaporated.
His surprise was short-lived, however, as another monster made of darkness came towards him. But this one was twice the size of all the others and had longer claws too.
But again, Delta stood undeterred.
Headmaster Ozpin was drinking his morning coffee in his office when he saw a bright flash of sea green outside in the forest.
He was surprised, to say the least. The first time this had happened, a few days ago, was when it was very cloudy, so he had just brushed it off as an oddly colored lightning flash. But now he knew it was something else.
Ozpin called Professor Goodwitch up to his office.
"Yes headmaster?" She asked once she got there. "Is this about the flash earlier?"
"Yes, it is. Get a bullhead ready; we're going to check it out." Ozpin replied.
Delta had taken down at least 70 of the monsters; by now, he knew that there were many different types. Delta was starting to get tired; he was out of EVE, fuel for his drill, and ammo. but he saw something flying towards him.
It was unlike anything Delta had ever seen, which is saying a lot.
The machine touched down nearby.
With Ozpin and Goodwitch:
The duo couldn't believe what they were seeing—a man in what looked like a modified diving suit fending off more Grimm than they could count.
They touched down nearby and rushed to help the man.
But when they got there, he had just plunged a colossal drill through an alpha beowulf as if it were nothing.
The man in the diver suit looked at them, seemingly checking to see if they were friends or foes.
"Don't worry, we're not going to hurt you." Ozpin explained.
The man gave no reply.
"My name is Ozpin, and this is my associate, Professor Goodwitch." He said to the man, who they could now see stood at around 7 feet tall.
The man stayed silent.
"Are you able to speak?" Glynda asked the hulking beast of a man.
The man shook his head.
"Oh. Come with us; we can take you to safety." Ozpin informed the diver.
The man thought for a moment. And he gestured for Ozpin to lead the way.
Ozpin led the man to the bullhead, and once inside, he almost bumped his head on the roof.
They took off and went back to Vale.
