"It….can't…..no….she…." Andrew stuttered through his shock.
"It's true Mr Knight. Commander Terri Miller is the real leader of Mundus Accendo." Liam confirmed. "She started the group and has been the leader. She used her job to gain inside intel into the military and passed on information from the inside. That is how Mundus Accendo was able to get away with so many attacks and plans they had made. After that fateful day when your father and the decoy was killed, she ordered the entire group to go underground until a few months ago. That's when your government and the FBI contacted British Intelligence for our assistance."
"But why? Why would she do this?" Dayla asked.
"She must've had a motive for doing all this?" Paulina then asked.
"We don't know for sure. We believe it may have something to do with the death of her daughter." Liam said.
Vincent's cell phone then rang. He picked it up and answered, "Agent Vincent?"
"Agent Vincent! My computer had detected that Marcus Brody's program isn't with Rogers, however it is connecting to one of Rogers satellites in space. I've detected a large amount of energy going to it." Tucker's voice could be heard.
Vincent immediately put Tucker on speaker and asked, "Can you pinpoint the exact location of the energy?"
"It seems to be coming from the ocean. Not far off from the harbour of the city." Tucker answered. "I'll send you the co-ordinates of its last location."
Vincent immediately unlocked Liam's handcuffs. Liam then said, "It looks like they're beginning the final stage of their plan and from what I gathered, Terri is going to join this one personally."
"What's the final stage of their plan?" Paulina asked.
"They're going to kill President Hartman as well as other world leaders." Liam answered. "As I said, President Hartman as well as almost all the world leaders of the UN are gathering on an island somewhere near New York for a massive fundraising event. It's supposed to be a secret."
The large computer screen opened and showed the co-ordinates of where Terri is. Reports then showed a phone call was being made from it.
"It looks like Terri is already calling President Hartman." Vincent said.
Dayla then saw someone was missing. Andrew was no longer with them and said, "Andrew's gone!"
"Where'd he go?" Paulina asked.
Dayla's eyes then widened in realisation and said to them all, "I know where he's going."
Andrew got out of the taxi at the harbour and quickly paid a man for his speed boat. On his own small tablet, he had the co-ordinates of where Terri's ship was. He turned on the engine and immediately took off, just as Dayla, Paulina, Liam and Vincent reached the harbour.
"What is that boy doing?" Vincent said, frustrated.
Dayla however knew exactly what Andrew was going to do and she had to be there to stop him. She then turned to Paulina, "Paulina, see if you can hire you all a boat and meet us at the co-ordinates. I'll fly on ahead."
Paulina nodded. Dayla changed into her ghost form and started taking off across the water at top speed.
On board a high-tech large boat, Terri was currently on the phone and looking down at the computer. The programme was tracking President Hartman at that very moment.
Pretending to be concerned, she said to the president, "Sir, with all due respect….with Mundus Accendo out there, it would be foolish to not have more security out there wherever you are. If you share your location, I can have the area covered by the NAVY to offer more protection."
"I appreciate the offer, but I think we're fine." President Hartman replied.
Terri grinned as she saw the programme had worked and she had the location, Thousand Islands. She then replied, "Very well sir. Hope the retreat goes well."
She hung up and began to speed up as well as activated a missile launcher. She was unaware that Andrew was speeding and catching up to her fast.
On Andrew's face, was the look of hatred and in his head, only one thought remained…..revenge!
As Dayla flew to try and catch up with Andrew, she knew she had to stop her boyfriend from doing something horrible. She felt stupid that she didn't see what Andrew discovering what really happened with Andrew's father would make him do. She had seen first-hand what revenge does to people. With Vlad, Venelope (even though they managed to change her life) and many other enemies they had encountered. She wasn't going to lose Andrew to revenge.
As Terri came closer to the co-ordinates, she stopped the boat and began to enter the co-ordinates for the islands. Andrew saw the boat and stopped it before diving into the water and swam the rest of the way.
He climbed up the anchor chain and jumped on board. He snuck to the control room and saw only two guards. He snuck up and quickly punched them, knocking them both unconscious. He then opened the door and saw Terri was about to push the button and launch the missile.
"And now finally, they will pay." She said and made her move.
Only for Andrew to burst in and kicked her away as he shouted, "NOT TODAY!"
Terri quickly recovered and looked at Andrew in shock. He panted and then asked, "Is it true? You're the reason my father died? IS IT?!"
"The President was making a speech that day in the city. It was all well-planned. My cover was almost blown back then, so I used a decoy to pretend to be me. What I didn't anticipate was your father catching them and stopping the plan. I had to act fast. I activated the bomb to get rid of any witnesses and to keep my cover. After what happened, I sent Mundus Accendo underground until it was time…..time for my revenge!" Terri answered, confirming everything was true. That she truly was responsible for Arthur's death. "Those government leaders deserve to die! Every leader or person of authority eventually uses their power to break the rules or abuses their authority over others! It's because of them that my own daughter is dead!"
Andrew didn't say anything. And then Terri continued, "My daughter was very young. She was only sixteen when she got pregnant. Even though her own boyfriend abandoned her and everyone told her to get rid of the baby, I stayed with her as I always have even after my husband died. I supported her. I still loved her and was so happy to become a grandmother. But then something was wrong. I knew something was wrong. I kept telling the doctor, we've got to get the baby out. The doctor just told me everything was going to be fine…I caved in. He was the well-respected doctor. Who was I to go against his authority? There was a shortage of doctors and medical supplies due to a crisis in a town after a tornado hit and the president requested any doctors and medical supplies to help. Because of all of them…I held my daughter's hand and watched as she died along with baby!"
She then screamed, "I'M GETTING MY REVENGE!"
Andrew had heard enough and the two began to fight. Dayla landed on board the boat as several members of Mundus Accendo surrounded her.
"Guys, you really don't want to fight me." Dayla said.
But they all just charged at her anyway. Dayla sighed and shrugged before duplicating herself twenty times and then sent all of them to attack. Punches, kicks, blasts, ice blasts, and fire blasts could be heard throughout the whole ocean area. Dayla's duplicates then formed back into herself and then her eyes glowed bright green as she formed a bright green energy in her hand and then yelled as she released it all at once.
All of the members screamed as they fell overboard and landed in the water just as Vincent, Liam and Paulina arrived with several FBI agents as well.
Dayla was about to go and find Andrew when suddenly, both he and Terri came crashing out of the control room and rolled down the stairs onto the deck. Both of their faces were covered in several cuts and bruises.
Andrew then kicked Terri right in the stomach and sent her crashing right into the back of the boat, her gun falling out of her pocket. She groaned as she dropped to her knees.
Andrew took a couple of deep breaths and then walked over, picking up the gun and aiming it at Terri.
"Do you have any idea…..what you put my mother through?! Myself?! You comforted us during our grief?! You were my father's friend?!" Andrew shouted, tears falling down his face.
"That…..was…..his mistake." Terri groaned out.
Andrew's finger dangerously hovered over the trigger and the deadly weapon as he said, "I should kill you now and took what you took from us!"
Terri however only grinned and said, "Go ahead."
Andrew was about to pull the trigger, but Dayla grabbed onto him and pulled him away as she shouted, "Andrew no! Don't do it!"
"Keep out of this Dayla!" Andrew shouted, trying to fight her off him.
"NO PLEASE! THIS ISN'T YOU! If you pull that trigger, you'll become just like her! I'll lose you! And so will your mother and everyone who ever cared about you!" Dayla pleaded.
"You don't understand…..she's the reason…." Andrew began to say.
Dayla looked deep into his eyes and said, "I know. I know what she did and I'm so sorry. But is this really what your dad would want? Your hands were not meant to take lives. Just to save them as you did with me so many times. Please…..don't lose yourself to revenge. Don't become like her. Don't become a monster."
Andrew's eyes widened and then for the first time, he was beginning to see clearly what he was about to do. He couldn't do it. He couldn't take a life. With a shout, he fired the gun into the sky and then dropped it.
Tears fell from his eyes. All the pain, anger and sadness he had felt these past few days were all coming out. Dayla just stood there and hugged him tightly, allowing him to cry everything out.
Paulina, Vincent and Liam looked at Andrew with sympathy and sadness. Finally he stopped and took a few deep breaths.
Dayla and Andrew pulled apart and then just looked at each other lovingly…..
BANG!
Dayla cried out in pain as she felt her side hurt. She fell to the ground and changed back into her human form. Blood was seeping out of the wound and Terri stood, with a gun in her hand.
"DAYLA!" Andrew shouted and knelt beside his girlfriend.
Terri was about to fire again, when she felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned around and suddenly Paulina punched her right in the face, knocking her out cold.
"That is for hurting my friend!" Paulina snapped angrily.
