Shannon tapped her foot impatiently and sighed in Eddie's direction. "Do something about our boyfriend, will you? Our kid is doing gymnastics on my insides." She eased herself into a chair, wishing the last few weeks of this pregnancy would go by quickly.
"What do you think I can do?" Eddie shot back at his ex-wife.
"I'm fine!" Buck protested before he let out a big sneeze.
"You're not fine - you have a cold," Shannon chided. She cursed her decision to sit down, knowing she couldn't get back up by herself anymore. She placed a hand on her swollen abdomen and laughed when the baby started doing somersaults. "This baby wants one of their daddies to feel better, Buck."
He scowled at her even as he tried to pretend like he wasn't about to sneeze again. "You're playing dirty, Shannon."
"We don't do that, do we?" Eddie asked Shannon.
She pretended to ponder the question. "No, I don't think we do. Don't make us get Christopher in here to guilt trip you," she threatened. Christopher could play dirty like the rest of them, and Buck had the hardest time saying no to their son.
"Just take some medicine will you?" pressed a frustrated Eddie.
Buck crossed his arms and shook his head. "I don't need it!" he insisted.
On the verge of (fake) tears, Shannon's lips started to tremble. "Please? You don't want to be sick for the baby, do you?"
"Look, you're making her cry. Again!" Eddie snickered and sighed in relief when Buck reluctantly grabbed the medicine bottle out of his hand. He forced himself to take the medicine then glowered at them when he sneezed yet again.
Eddie turned around and quickly kissed Shannon in relief before pressing a kiss to the top of Buck's head. "We're probably already fucked at this point but I'm not taking any chances in you getting us sick."
"Why don't you go to bed?" Shannon suggested.
"I'm not tired."
"Now you're sounding like our whiny teenager," laughed Eddie. He pulled Buck up and herded him towards their bedroom after Shannon also pressed a kiss to his forehead.
Eddie returned and sat down next to her. "He wear you out in the bad way?" she teased him.
"Sick Buck is even more stubborn than regular Buck. How are you and the baby feeling?"
"We're fine. Stop worrying, Eddie." She laughed when he placed a hand on her stomach and started talking to their unborn daughter. The three of them couldn't wait to meet their little girl, and Christopher was so excited about becoming a big brother.
Eddie and Christopher got taken down by Buck's cold less than a week later while Shannon luckily managed to avoid getting sick. A recovered Buck took care of both their boys out of guilt and wanting to make up for them helping him through his illness.
And all three of the boys took care of Shannon and the baby when she finally gave birth a few weeks afterwards.
