When Danny got the call from the hospital that Steve had been injured in a car accident, he swore his heart stopped. He raced to be by his husband's side and sighed in relief upon discovering Steve only suffered minor bruises and broke his wrist. "It's not that bad!" Steve insisted when he saw the horrified look on Danny's face.

"You scared the fuck out of me," Danny murmured as he checked Steve over for himself.

Steve ducked his head then proceeded to hiss in pain. "Sorry."

"Don't apologize for getting hurt - from what I hear, it wasn't even your fault. Can I take him home yet?" Danny questioned the doctor.

"We'll discharge him shortly," the doctor informed them.

Danny sighed in relief and squeezed Steve's good hand. They home within the next two hours, and Steve immediately curled up in bed. "I'm going to sleep for a week."

Danny eyed him in concern and pressed his hand against his protesting husband's forehead. "You don't have a fever, at least. Tell me if something's wrong, will you?"

Steve cracked an eye open and stared at him. "I will," he promised. "Now get in bed with me, Danno."

"If you insist." Danny heaved out a fake long-suffering sigh and laid down next to Steve. "Love you."

"Me too," Steve mumbled as unconsciousness beckoned him. When he woke up, he was in a world of pain. Danny helped him out of bed and gently ushered him to the couch. "I hope you know I'm not moving."

Danny laughed. "I don't expect you're going anywhere for a while, babe." He handed him the remote and went to go make Steve some dinner. When he couldn't find anything to rustle up, he instead ordered pizza.

Steve moaned happily as he dug into the pizza when it arrived about forty-five minutes later. "Feeling better already."

"Good, I'm glad." Danny started tearing into his own pizza once he knew Steve actually had an appetite and kept a close eye on him all through dinner.

Afterwards, Danny threw away their paper plates, put away their leftovers, and forced Steve to head back to bed. "Turn the TV on," a tired Steve ordered.

"Will do. What do you want to watch?" Danny sat down next to him as he checked the menu to see what was on before flipping over to one of their many streaming services when he couldn't find anything.

They eventually settled on one of their favorite movies, and Danny was by Steve's side as he recovered (which predictably drove his husband up the wall but he was thankful anyway).
