Hey Animeharem. I was hit with covid and it was hard to type. I mad this a couple chapters of new and old stories I'll be posting, someone asked will I hiatus my stories and thats a no, even my pokemon for those who been pm me.
Chapter 1: start of something good
"Nagato meant everything to me, and now he trusted our dreams to you." Konan produced a bouquet of flowers made of paper. "You are the hope that will never wither away."
"I promise not to let you down." Naruto then turns to Nagato's body. "What are you going to do with him?"
"I'm going to give him a proper burial and hide his eyes. No doubt, Madara will try and take them." Konan said.
"Then why don't you give his eyes to me, I hide them, after all I have the perfect place. That is if you trust me." Naruto offered. Konan thought about it. She had a way to beat Madara but it would be safe to have a back up plan.
"Would you tell me where you plan on hiding it?" Naruto smiled and whispered in her ears, making her eyes widen and she gave him a small smile. "You really are unpredictable. I agree with your idea."
Naruto nodded and gathered some sage chakra and went through some hand signs. "Kuchiyose no jutsu!" A small toad appeared in front of Naruto. "This is a security toad, call me please if anything happens to you. If what you say is true, Madara will come for you. Please call."
Konan saw the care and worry in his eyes and nodded. Originally she was going to try and kill Madara but if she died, she wouldn't be able to protect her village. "I will be the Amekage and help bring the world to peace."
Naruto left Konan and headed back to the village. As he was walking, he passed out from fatigue and fell on Kakashi's back. "I got you." his sensei said.
When they arrived at the village, everyone was cheering for him, calling him a hero and thanking him for saving their village. Naruto couldn't help but smile warmly. He was finally accepted and loved, all the hatred for him is gone. He was closer to the village than before.
Shikaku was in the back, smiling at the blonde. He may not be a genius, but the kid was now the strongest person in the village. But now that the invasion was over, he knew the position for Hokage would be up for grabs and he was afraid that danzo would make a grab at it. Danzo was conniving but he wasn't a Nara. he thought of possible candidates and the only person that came to mind was Kakashi. He was the next strongest after Naruto and Danzo but something in the back of his mind told him that danzo still will have the upper hand. Shikaku then turned to Naruto, he saw the battle with pein, Naruto was able to command told bosses to fight, out maneuver pain and beat him. Shikamaru always talked about how strong Naruto was and he couldn't disagree. Naruto may not be an experienced leader but he does have heart and strength to back up the title. Also after how he was treated, he deserves it. "Nara-san" Shikaku turned to an anbu who was bowing towards him. "The council is calling an emergency meeting."
"Troublesome, fine. Just give me a minute and let me grab someone." Shikaku said, receiving a nod from the Anbu. he approached Naruto, who was talking with his friends. "Naruto, I need you to come with me to the next council meeting."
The blonde turned to him and smiled. "Perfect, I don't have to storm in there. I was going to ask to call a meeting to stop Danzo. He has done enough." Shikaku gave the blonde a confused look, which Naruto noticed. "I'll explain on the way.
"Fine but when we get there, stay outside until the election." Shikaku said.
"What election?"
"You'll know when we get there."
Council meeting
"When it comes to dealing with Akatsuki, we will continue to pursue them together with our allies." Homura said. Starting the meeting.
"With the village in this state, we will do whatever we can to help rebuild it." another council said. Homura nodded for him to continue. "First we'll have to create a budget, before we try to ease the tension with the other countries.."
"More importantly." Everyone turned to Danzo. "There's something we need to do before that. We need to decide who'll become the next hokage
'I knew it. So it has come to this. Hope Naruto has come up with a plan.' Shikaku thought.
"Wouldn't it be better to wait until Tsunade recovers?" the fire daimyo asked.
"Daimyo-sama, Tsunade is still in a comatose state." Koharu stated. The daimyo nodded. "With the village in its current situation, and who knows when Tsunade will wake up, waiting may not be the best course of action. Also, she's responsible for the destruction of Konoha." Koharu finished.
"THAT'S A LIE!" the council turned to Naruto as he barged in, glaring at the elders. He had a scroll in his hand. "Baa-chan is not the reason for this village's destruction."
"Naruto Uzumaki, you are not permitted to enter the council room, this can be considered an act of insubordination." Homura chaste.
"Naruto Uzumaki, the hero of the village? You can stay, thanks for saving our village." the daimyo said. Naruto nodded. "I'd choose Jiraiya as the next hokage but he's not with us."
"I nominate Kakashi Hatake." Shikaku said, stopping Danzo and causing the warhawk to glare.
The firelord was impressed. "Oh, the son of the 'white fang, why not? What do you all think?"
"He's well known, strong and respected. That's true but he's very young." Koharu said.
"Minato was younger." Shikaku said. Naruto smiled at the thought of his father.
"Who was his teacher?" a councilman asked.
"The Yondaime hokage."
The fire lord was even more impressed. "Kakashi was taught by the 4th, who was taught by Jiraiya, who was taught by the Sandaime, it's a fine selection."
"The third's teaching was as good as destroying the village! The leader of Akatsuki, Pein, was Jiraiya's student. Elect me as Hokage and I'll turn this village into the strongest in the nation." Danzo said.
"You're wrong again." Everyone turned to Naruto. "The third's teaching wasn't wrong, he's the reason we are who we are. And I'll be damned if I let someone like you become hokage, someone who not only can't protect the village but also sabotage the other kages for his selfish desires. You were the one that created Pein, Danzo. You and Hanzo are the one who release him into the world.
"Watch your mouth boy." Danzo sneered.
"No but let me ask you something. How did you find out about Nagato being my sensei's pupil? My sensei told me the only ones who knew about him were Tsunade and the sandaime. I'll answer, you've involuntarily suggested about your involvement with Hanzo. It was because of you that Nagato became the leader of the Akatsuki by killing his friend. You thought their action was a threat in Ame considering we shouldn't interfere since it was none of our business." naruto said, making Shikaku smirk.
"Where's your proof?" Danzo said with a smirk. "All you speak is rubbish."
"Fine, I don't have any proof, besides the fact that everyone who died was brought back alive thanks to Nagato. I was able to sway him and he told me about you. But if that's not enough, how about this. Where were you when Orochimaru invaded us? I didn't see you on the battlefield. How about when pein invaded us? Where were you? You don't even have a scratch on you. You expect me to trust a leader who can't stand up for his people?" Naruto asked, glaring at the war hawk.
"Are you saying I don't love the village."
"Yes, do you know what I did during the invasions? I fought Shukaku, the one-tail and the leader of the Akatsuki alone. I was protecting my home, while you try to trash the other hokage name just to make yourself look better. I'm even willing to bet that you were the one who killed the summoning toad I set to call me back just in case of emergencies." Naruto said.
"You said enough boy." Danzo said, getting angry.
"Fine, daimyo-sama. I, Naruto Uzumak-Namikaze, nominate myself as hokage. I promise I'll protect this village with my predecessor teaching. And I'll take my fathers place and lead this village like he did. Do not let Danzo become hokage, he will sully all the other leaders' names and legacies.
"You're the fourth son as well, you got the blood of a kage in your veins." daimyo said.
"This is what I mean daimyo-sama, this idealistic belief in the will of fire has led us to be weak and exposed, it will lead us to destruction soon. Need I remind you that the third let Orochimaru go after discovering his illegal experiment. I would've killed the treacherous snake. If I'm chosen, Konoha will rise to greatness like it always meant to be."
"Tell me Naruto-san, besides Jiraiya, who was your teacher?
"Kakashi Hatake and I'm the apprentice of Jiraiya, daimyo-sama." Naruto answered the firelord, the council was glancing between the two. Naruto noticed the indecisiveness and continued to speak. "Love, understanding and peace are not a weakness, they are a strength. A person's true strength comes from resolve to protect the people you care about. I will uphold the will of fire."
Koharu decided to speak up. "Daimyo-sama, I believe Danzo is the right choice in this situation, Uzumaki is strong but not fit to be hokage yet. We can have him train to be hokage after Danzo but right now we need a true leader.
"I agree with her," Homura spoke. "Naruto is only sixteen and Danzo is older and experienced. He is also well equipped to handle the burden of the role as hokage, Naruto might be a kage level but so is Danzo. I think he's a better candidate for the nanadaime position instead."
"If Danzo becomes the Rokudaime hokage, I'll never be the nanadaime." Naruto said.
"Why is that Naruto-san?" Homura said.
"Because the moment he inherits that title, I'll leave the village." The whole council was shocked at this. Shikaku smirked and spoke.
"That would be bad for the village daimyo-sama. You may not know this but naruto leaving us would not just cripple us in power but in politics. Naruto past mission had gave us a lot of allies, the wave daimyo family name their bridge after him and build a statue of him, Shibuki, leader of taki owes a debt to him, the kazekage look at him as a brother from what Jiraiya told me, Kyoku the spring daimyo is almost infatuate with the boy. If Naruto-san leaves, most likely we'll lose most of our allies. Plus tsunade loves the boy like a son, if Naruto leaves, so will she. Especially if Danzo is hokage, she would rather die than work for you. And I personally agree with Naruto becoming hokage, he might not be experienced but he can learn on the job, no one is born a leader but naruto can gain a lot of knowledge with a certain jutsu he knows." Shikaku said, causing Naruto to smirk. "So I have a suggestion, if Naruto is elected, we give him a week to prepare. With his special method, I can guarantee he will fit the role."
Danzo was sneering, this was going well. If he becomes leader, Naruto will leave alongside Tsunade. Having three clans leaving would damage the village but it was clear that the boy didn't trust him, damn the sandaime.
"Daimyo-sama," Naruto bowed in front of him. "Please give me this chance. Danzo will corrupt this village and turn everyone to mindless killing missions to be feared. I will destroy the hatred of this world and lay down my life for the village people, I give you my word."
The room was silent. Daimyo had his eyes closed and smiled. "I've seen your resolve and made a final decision. Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze will be the Rokudaime hokage."
"But daimyo-sama, this is a mistake. He's a child who threatens to leave the village because he wants power. He can't handle the burden. I'll train the boy to be my successor."
"Did you forget, Naruto has been handling a burden his whole life." Shikaku said.
Daimyo smiled and nodded. "The coronation will be in a week. Naruto congratulations or should I say Hokage-sama. No one is allowed to know about Naruto-san becoming hokage until the announcement." Danzo and the elders walked past him, all three glaring at the blonde but were ignored.
Shikaku walked to him and patted his shoulder. "Do us proud Hokage-sama."
Naruto smiled and nodded. "I will and thanks for believing in me." Naruto bid farewell and left for the hokage monument. He then summoned Fukasaku. "Ah, Naruto boy, how are you?"
"Hey old toad, I like to finish my training. You see I was elected hokage and need to be stronger in a week. I would like to learn fuinjutsu, toad sage jutsu, some wind and water. Plus completely my sage training. Also, do you know where my father's scrolls are?"
"I do, but how are you planning on mastering all of this in a week? I know you're strong but aren't you overworking yourself."
"Kage bunshins, oh also I need another favor." Naruto got ready and left with Fukasaku to prepare for his week training.
Akatsuki base
"Zetsy, you have finally arrived. Tell me what became of Konoha and Pein." Madara demanded. Kisame was next to Zetsu. Zetsu nodded and told them the outcome of the battle from the start when Pein destroyed the whole village, tsunade in a coma and Naruto defeated Pein. Madara gritted his teeth in anger, while Kisame was impressed with the kid's strength. "Who's the hokage?"
"From the rumors, everything is pointing to Danzo." Zetsu said.
"I wouldn't be surprised, knowing that man. Naruto has become a pain and a wrench in my plans. Kisame, go capture the hachibi, you must succeed where Sasuke's team has failed. Zetsu, return to Konoha and continue to spy on them, we need to be absolute about who it is."
Somewhere in Konoha
Danzo rarely showed emotion but he was angry. He was so close to being the hokage and transforming this village to fit his reign but he lost the position to a child. It was bad enough when he lost to Tsunade and Minato, two people who believe in the will of fire. So now the only option that remains is to kill Naruto, Danzo swore to himself, by the end of next week, this village will belong to him.
For this story, I made this chapter short because I was indecisive. I wasn't sure to make this harem: temari for political reason and similar background with Naruto, Yugao since she's Naruto anbu and could bound with him, plus she protected him as a kid, Shizune since he was the secretary and Hinata because of pein. If harem is not a choice, the only three option are Temari, Yugao or Shizune. Vote and i'm not good with politics, so sorry if I fucked up the council meeting. Remember the harem route or the first three. Thats's it.
