Author's Note:
Hello everyone, my name is Midnight and this is going to be my second time writing a traveling fanfiction on this site. I abandoned my first one because I was extremely busy then and started losing interest in Voltron, which was the fandom of my first fanfic. Although I am not as passionate about Naruto as I used to be when I first got the idea for this fanfic, I am still hopeful that I can write it to some degree.
Prologue
If someone who had witnessed Konoha at its prime were to see it now, they would question whether it was truly Konoha. Konoha was once a lively and vibrant place, full of chatter, light, people, and happiness.
Now all that remained of the once beautiful Konoha was the rubble of destroyed houses. If you squinted enough you could still make out some of the 7 faces on the Hokage Mountain.
The destruction of Konoha was so devastating that only a few people survived. The event's suddenness left everyone in shock, even the more experienced shinobi. One moment, the residents of Konoha were enjoying their daily lives, and the next, explosions erupted around the village.
Screaming, running, and crying were all that could be heard in Konoha as people lost their lives, and kids were separated from their families in the wake of the destruction. It wasn't long before the killing happened.
At first, nobody knew what to do or what was going on. After a while of confusion, the Shinobi of the hidden leave started fighting back while the academy teachers and retired Shinobi tried to save as many people as possible.
Medic-nins were passing out left and right from chakra exhaustion as more and more people were getting hurt or dying. The attackers killed everyone in their way. Be it ninjas, civilians, men, women, and even children, they were all being mercilessly killed without a second thought. Even in their best attempt at trying to evacuate the people, before long all that could be heard in Konoha was silence.
In the forest surrounding Konoha, hiding among the thick trees and leaves, a relatively big group of around 30 civilians, shinobi, and anbu were hiding as they tried to catch their breath and heal the injured. They were all circling and shielding a group of kids who were kneeling on the floor crowding over someone who appeared to be unconscious.
The oldest of these kids appeared around nineteen while the youngest of them couldn't be more than nine. All of them had 2 noticeable whiskers on their cheeks. All of them had either Blonde hair, Red hair, or dark blue hair.
Anyone who has heard tales of the 7th Hokage and his wife would be able to realize that these were their children. Those whiskers of theirs being a dead giveaway to their lineage.
All thirteen of them were crowding around someone, trying desperately to wake them up. The older teenagers appeared panicked however they kept a calm expression so as not to worry their younger siblings more. For the ones more adept at healing, their hands started glowing green as they used the last of their remaining chakra.
As for the younger ones in the group, some were openly but quietly crying into the arms of the older siblings, the ones who weren't as adept at healing as their other siblings and could do nothing to help them. The younger kids sought out any form of comfort they could find within their small group while at the same time making sure they weren't found by the people who destroyed their home. They tried desperately not to think about the last memory they had of their parents before they too joined the fight against the unknown. The adults in the outer circle felt guilty that there wasn't much they could do in the situation except pull their weight and hope not to be any more of a burden to the kids than they had to be
"All of you will be in charge of them." A man with blonde hair and three whiskers said the moment it was only their family inside the Office. Inside the Hokage office, Naruto, dressed in his Hokage cape, and Hinata, dressed for someone about to go to battle, were talking to their children. To the kids, it was the most serious they had ever seen their parents
"Huh?" All the kids answered having not expected this outcome. When they had first been called into the Hokage office they had expected to be briefed on where they were going to be stationed. They were prepared to throw their lives on the line by fighting or healing and helping the wounded on the sidelines. They were not expecting to be told to run away and take the remaining civilians, some shinobi, and even some Anbu. Along with some of Konoha's most important scrolls, secrets, and some modern technology.
"Why? Why do you want us to leave?" A tall blonde male standing around 5 '10 said. Hiroto Uzumaki, the oldest son of Naruto and Hinata. Like his father, he too has blue eyes however unlike Naruto who has three whiskers, Hiroto, like his other siblings, only has two whiskers.
Hiroto was reeling from the idea that they abandoned their home. The place where they were born. Where they lived and grew up. He was about to open his mouth to protest when a Red-Hair female grabbed his hand and squeezed it. Hiroto reluctantly closed his mouth
"I will not lie. I- No, We know our chances of fighting these unknown people are slim." Naruto said with a grim look. He grabbed the hand of his wife to calm himself down. She squeezed his trembling hand and tried to smile to uplift his spirit. Naruto straightened his back with as much confidence as he could muster without breaking down thinking about the village and its people. He continued "We do not expect to live. However, what we can do is ensure that not only our children will be saved but that a piece of Konoha will survive. That there will be a chance Konoha can rise again"
"Father," The same Red-Hair girl said with a small voice and some tears in her eyes. Aiko Uzumaki, the oldest daughter, and Hiroto's Twin. Unlike her brother who looked more like their dad, Aiko was born with the signature "Uzumaki hair" which was nothing like either of her parents. She was a stubborn girl so being told to run away rubbed her the wrong way. The reason she stopped Hiroto from voicing his opinion was because deep down she knew she would not be able to handle it if her siblings died just cause they had insisted they stay and help.
The other siblings also tried to voice their sadness and grief but fell silent having never seen their parents this serious. Ultimately, they could do nothing but remain silent while accepting their parent's request to run away and if they could, rebuild Konoha one day.
"We love you all so much," Hinata choked through tears having finally spoken. She and Naruto stood up and hugged each one of the siblings before grabbing the sealing scrolls near the desk securing sealing scrolls onto their backs and making sure they wouldn't accidentally get loose and lost along the way.
"Mommy, what are these scrolls for?" The youngest of the siblings asked, rubbing his eyes of any tears left in them. Hiro Uzumaki is the youngest son among his siblings and named after his oldest brother.
"These are sealing scrolls. Remember when Daddy taught you how to use sealing Jutsu?" Hinata asked not only Hiro but the rest of the younger kids. They all nodded and Hinata continued "These scrolls are like that but bigger and are personalized for each one of you. We made sure to pack everything you might need"
"We had these prepared when each of you were born. We did not expect it to come so soon." Naruto said continuing for Hinata "We have modified it through the years so your personal and important belongings should be here. Clothes, food, water, and healing supplies are in all of these. We even sealed some Jutsus that we wanted to teach you all"
"What if we never see you again?" Himawari asked. She was their tenth child and looked a lot like Hinata did when she was younger if it weren't for her eyes, whiskers, and hairstyle. She wanted to cry. She wanted to yell. But her older siblings weren't. So she knew, to keep her mouth shut.
Among the fourteen siblings, the first eight are considered the oldest while the remaining six are the youngest some just a few weeks into their teenage years. To the youngest, their older sibling knew better since they had matured but grew up with them. So if they weren't saying anything, even if the kids wanted to protest, nothing good would come from staying in Konoha.
Even if they were young they were still the Hokage's kids, this wasn't the first time this had happened to Konoha. One such incident happened during Boruto's Chunin Exam. He was only twelve when Momoshiki attacked. The only difference to this was that Momoshiki was one person but they had no idea who was attacking Konoha or how many they were let alone their power level.
In the end, after some more fussing and crying the kids were led to an underground basement directly under the building where the rest of the people going with them was. The original plan was for Naruto and Hinata to take them, that is before the building started shaking as the intruders started destroying the building. In the end, they were quickly shoved into the entranced and sealed the door the moment they were all inside. The last thing the kids ever saw of their parents were their tears rolling down their faces and I love yous leaving their lips before the door was completely sealed.
*BOOM*
Everyone within the group jumped and started scrambling around trying to grab their things in panic. The physically strongest among the siblings tried to grab the unconscious one as the other sibling scurried to grab hold of their younger sibling while whispering instructions to the other survivors preparing to run.
Before anyone in the group could run, a light appeared underneath their feet. Nobody could move. They didn't know if it was because they were scared of what the light meant or if something restricted their movement. In the end, the light engulfed all of them and all they could see was darkness as each of their visions turned black.
Each of the siblings thought the same things before they passed out.
Dear Kami, please let my siblings be okay
