A/N: Greeting, Zephyr/Pugsley here, now for those who are wondering where I've been, let's just say things got a little too complicated. Plus I've been more active on Deviantart and other sites I'm currently on so this is why you're expecting less posts from me.
But now I'm back on fanfiction, and I suddenly wanted to remake this book I made a year back. Even though my writing skills have improved a bit, I thought it would be best to remaster the one I did a year back? I may do this again with the previous stories I made before, but this time with improved writing and not too..bland.
With that being said, let's get into the story.
-Zephyr/Pugsley
It's tough being a Hoopa in such humid, blazing temperatures out here in the Dahara region. As the only wild Pokemon to ever be seen around the city, it could tell that with how scorching it is out there, or how big a group of camerupt migrating without needing a break, much to it's surprise such a pokemon could manage to set off to a journey all by itself in such scorching weather but the Hoopa, unfortunately couldn't for longer.
Gazing upon a few silicobra minding their business and a couple numel with their camerupt parents migrating in a herd, it hopes it would do the same like other desert-born pokemon. Unfortunately for the genie-like figure that struggled to float up due to the excess heat it took, it just couldn't be like everyone else.
Born and raised in some dimension no one ever talks about, it used to live a nice, happy settlement where Hoopas like one would be as happy as they thought they would, migrating into another planet like other legendaries and mythicals without any problem ever, but as soon as that one particular genie got left behind without knowing, it got overwhelmed from its fear and soon, teleported into another dimension this genie never seen or been to before.
It's still a wild mythical, and the only wild mythical some people would notice and figure out why is it doing out in a city like this. A city so crowded the Hoopa itself couldn't figure out who can help it out. Less than a week ever since the genie-like creature got sent to the certain region and never found its way back, and soon things got very overwhelming.
All the way from the Paldea region, and current champion, remains a certain pug creature no one has ever seen before, a canine named "Pugsley", is seen at the table, drinking a glass of pinap juice he'd just bought at a local smoothie bar. Here in the Dahara region, there's a lot of juice and smoothie bars around the city, so it's a common chance a person'll be seeing one and buy a nice, refreshing glass during a very hot, fall day.
He'd brought a few of his pokemon friends during the trip to the Dahara region; Oakley, his beloved Boltund, and Tyrique, his Tyrogue he'd raised ever since he started his journey in the Galar region. He'd brought some new team members all the way from Paldea.
There was "Pancake", a shiny Clodsire she carried battles with throughout the Kitakami region, a shiny Lurantis named "SweetTart", "Mitzi", his shiny Sylveon, and lastly his shiny Hawlucha, "Antonio". A lot of shinies he'd caught throughout his journey outside Galar, and the world record for the most shinies ever caught.
He dreams of getting his dream team set up, but it wouldn't be complete without both his beloved partners, Oakley and Tyrique, both pokemon raised ever since the start of his Galar journey. Ever since he started roaming across the fields, he dreams of going somewhere else besides staying in either Galar or Paldea, and at last it came true.
Now at the smoothie bar with a finished glass next to him, his eyes focus on the water at the horizon, where water-type pokemon would normally reside in. Buizels, Wailord, a bunch of sea pokemon swimming happily and cooling themselves off during a hot day.
A light flashes out of the pokeball before taking a few moments for the beam to dance around in a silver light, revealing the form of his boltund seconds later.
"O-Oakley," Pugsley shook as he noticed the boltund sitting next to him, "You're not supposed to be out of your pokeball in such hot weather like this!"
Oakley barked in response before shaking her head, as it looks like she was beckoning him to where it would be nice and cool inside. At first Pugsley couldn't understand what the electric dog was saying, but soon he shrugged it off and obeyed the Boltund's request, following her in her tracks.
A few moments went by as Pugsley was fighting the urge to not pass out, Oakley stopped dead in her tracks and gazed upon an entrance that looked...familiar.
He'd seen this entrance before, but not in Qatori City. Decorations danced along with the breeze before Pugsley could shove them away, stopping as he noticed a few Pokemon walking by. One was a Stufful, walking around with an Alolan Ninetales, its tails on the red panda's back to keep it from passing out from the excess heat.
Another was a Buizel, with an ice pack on its head to prevent itself from a heat stroke, on its way to the nearby pool. There was a Gengar, sitting on one of the nearby benches with a Frosmoth sitting next to it, its wings plants on its back to prevent the ghost from getting exhausted. Lastly were a few Pidove, sitting on a large ice pack.
Very hot weather, hasn't it?
"Uhh, excuse me.." Said the pug before noticing the man jumping in fear, his eyes gazed upon at first looked like a regional variant of granbull, but in reality, it's just Pugsley, standing in front of the counter with both paws against the wooden table. "Is this a..hotel or something?"
"W-Why yes! I would never expect such a huge granbull in here!" The man still did not understood Pugsley's request, "Wait, are you a regional granbull or something? Because you kinda.."
"A pug, sir. I'm an actual PUG, a non-human creature in a lobby." Pugsley snapped back as he put his paws off the table. "Listen, I came here and I was wondering if-"
"A hotel, of course!" The man responded abruptly before Pugsley could finish talking. "It even has better air-conditioning, all the rooms have better air-"
"I haven't even finished my sentence.." Pugsley growled as he placed a free paw against the counter. "I get it's a hotel, but I was wondering if I could get a room."
The man's smile grew and right away, he pulls out a keycard from a nearby drawer. "Room 183! Right on floor 2!"
"Room 183, on Floor 2.." Pugsley sighed before walking away, "Yeah, I can sure get used to that. It better have better air-conditioning like that man promised.."
As soon as the elevator opened its doors, Pugsley stepped onto the carpet before stopping dead on his tracks to smell the fresh air across the hallways. Fresh, hotel hallway air. It's like he's staying the night here once again, and as soon as he thought about it, in reality he's staying the night there again.
Finally, he reached towards the door number the man told him to go to, Room 183. As he opened the door, he noticed that the room felt..nice and roomy. The bed is nicely made and the items on the nightstand are neatly organized. It's not a mess Pugsley expected it to be, instead it's clean and felt like it was good as new.
The pug flopped himself onto the bed and grabbed the remote that was next to him. He turned on the television to watch the recent battle taking place; a Bewear facing an Arbok in a rematch. The cobra pokemon had lost to the same bewear before, and as soon as that red panda continued landing a few punches onto it, it felt like the snake was on the verge of fainting.
As soon as the Arbok landed on the ground, it soon laid its head down on the ground, completely motionless. "Arbok is unable to battle, Bewear is the winner!"
Pugsley turns off the television before getting up to adjust the air conditioner. It was still nice and cool in there, but since it's still hot outside, he could adjust the temperature to avoid getting exhausted from the heat.
He flopped himself back into bed before he proceeded to close his eyes. After a long walk to the hotel Pugsley has never seen before, all he needed was a nice rest after an exhausting and scorching day.
THUD!
Pugsley jolted out of bed as he heard a loud thump that came across the room. Getting up to figure out who that sound belonged to, he checked that bathroom to make sure nobody was there, but suddenly, no one was in there. He checked the hallway, but still not even a single person around. If no one was in the room, then where could it be?
Pugsley checked the balcony to make sure nobody was out there. Was there a Talonflame that fell down after a rough battle? Could it be an Impidimp that dropped something important by accident? It was neither of those things as soon as the pug looked down, and his eyes shrank like beads.
Letting out a gasp in shock, he noticed a familiar genie-like creature that stood motionless on the ground. Its hair was messy and matted from sweat, and its face was nearly pale as fur of a Reshiram. Pugsley placed a paw onto the unconscious Hoopa before wincing as his paws touched the rings that appeared to be overheated from the scorching weather.
Panicking, Pugsley rushes back into the hotel room with the motionless genie Pokemon in both arms, and once he placed the Hoopa onto the soft mattress, the creature closes the door to avoid letting the excess heat roam inside.
"Can you hear me?" Pugsley added as he waved a paw around towards the Hoopa to grab its attention, but no response. "Hello!?"
Still no response, even when trying to wave a paw around towards the genie's face, but to no avail. Without any other options in mind, the anthropomorphic creature runs back into the fridge to grab an ice pack, before running back towards the genie to place the freezing object onto the pokemon's head.
It took the genie-like ghost creature to weakly open its eyes and gaze upon the pug standing in front of him with worry in his eyes. Its vision was blurry and static, and its hearing buzzed like a Beedrill. A few seconds later, the genie's vision soon regained and now it could fully see the canine-like figure.
The canine placed a paw against the ghost's head only to realize it wasn't damp. Usually it would start sweating but this time no sweat beads can be visible. Boiling hot from the scorching weather, but shockingly it wasn't sweating.
Pugsley would rush to the bathroom to grab a trash can just in case the pokemon starts to throw up, before coming back to the room to find the Hoopa, still on bed, motionless. Thankfully it was still breathing, but by seeing it not move made the canine panic even more.
"I-I'll have this out just in case you'll throw up or anything." Pugsley stammered as he pushed the trash can near the genie before rushing back to the fridge, "Let me go get some ice and a bucket. I'll prepare an ice bath just for you, little guy."
The hoopa's hearing started to buzz again and wasn't able to recall what the canine had said before. Its vision was still clear, but it was too exhausted to figure out what the canine is doing. Rushing back to where Pugsley rested, the canine carried the Hoopa in both arms and stormed back into the bathroom, leaving the trash can behind.
With a bucket filled with ice and water, Pugsley placed the exhausted Hoopa into the cooling bucket, surrounding the pokemon with the freezing cubes of ice to help it cool down even more. Its stomach started coiling like the pokemon was already on the verge of throwing up, and its teeth began to clench.
Without realizing what was happening, Pugsley immediately takes the genie out of the ice bath before placing him near the toilet bowl as it was about to vomit.
"Easy there, little guy.." Pugsley cooed before wincing as he heard those sounds that were coming out from the genie, and it was a lot more painful than before. "Eaaasy there.."
It took the Hoopa less than five minutes to stop expelling excess bile before the canine could flush, placing the genie back into the ice bucket afterwards.
It looked like the little genie had been out cold for more than an hour, and it left Pugsley into worry. The hoopa could feel something cool surrounding it, and it took a few minutes for it to wake up, finding the worried canine in front of him.
Placing a paw onto the genie's skin, it felt like it wasn't boiling hot anymore. Just cool ice cubes surrounding the small pokemon to help it cool down. Letting out a moan, Pugsley takes his paw away from its face and opening his mouth to talk.
"Praise Arceus, you're awake.." Pugsley sighed in relief as he took the genie out of the ice bucket before grabbing a nearby towel to dry the ghost off. "You had me very horrified there for a second.."
"Hhuh..Horrified?" The hoopa asked weakly, still not understanding what the canine had spoken out.
"I found you passed out on the balcony while I was taking a nap." Pugsley explained, "When I heard that loud thump across the room, I stormed outside only to find you COMPLETELY out cold, and I actually mean OUT COLD."
The genie rubbed its head, still not understanding as its hearing continued buzzing slightly.
"I know you couldn't understand me since you're still weak, but what happened just..I'm shocked but I'm glad I managed to save you right on time!"
"Hoopa..saved by..dog?" The genie asked between breaths, its hearing still fuzzy.
"A boltund didn't save you, little guy. I did." Pugsley responded as he got closer to him. The Hoopa asked what the pug's name is, and he answered, "I'm Pugsley!"
"Pugsley...khan.. Pugsley-khan saved Hoopa.." The genie responded back between weak breaths, finally regaining its hearing seconds later.
"No, Pugsley. Not Pugsley-khan.." Pugsley snapped back.
Thoes words hit the genie like a battle-Gogoat, and as soon as that one snap pounded into its skull, the genie slowly closed its eyes before Pugsley could react.
"C-CRAP- I did NOT mean to do that- Don't pass out again, please!" Pugsley quickly carried the hoopa in both arms as he waved a paw towards the ghost's face. "C'mon, now! I was just.."
The genie slowly opened its eyes as it regained its vision to see the pug with a worried expression. "Little guy, I did not mean to snap at you, I was just trying to give you some information."
"Hoopa..still..weak.." Were all those words the genie ghost could let out before everything went dark.
