Chrono Bowl, Inside the Speed Force…
As Thawne was running through time watching the stands rise and rise with the passing of time he saw the events that were to unfold. Thawne saw the coming of Doomsday and his brutal rampage across the bottom of the Oceans which brought Mera of Alantis to the Justice League. Doomsday rampage went from the bottom of the Ocean, to Gotham, and ended in Metropolis. He killed millions in his rampage leaving Justice League members wounded or near death forcing Supergirl to fight him to the death in Metropolis.
After the Death of Supergirl, the next world ending event was Steppen Wolf invading the Earth with parademons. Victor Stone, Cyborg joins the fray along with Diana Prince, Wonder Woman from Themyscira to aid the Justice League in an attempt to stop Steppen Wolf from getting all three Mother Boxes. The Justice League attempts to revive Supergirl using the Mother Box they had in their possession but thanks to the intervention of Thawne it fails.
Then The Flash battles Thawne but he escapes. With no time to go after him The Justice League has a brutal battle with Steppen Wolf and the Parademons but they win barely adverting another world ending disaster, but they win. However, their victory was short-lived. Thanks to the meddling of Thawne once again a fight broke out between Wonder Woman and Mera which resulted in Mera getting beheaded by Wonder Woman.
This resulted in a bloody war between Alantis and Themyscira that consumed the whole world. This brought Shazam to the Justice League in an attempt to quell the fighting but billions died in the fighting then as the Flash and Thawne fought at the end of this system of things as Alantais blew up the world The Flash discovered this Thawne was the Thawne of his timeline and that when the Alternate timeline Thawne ran to the future he stole his own greatest moment disguised as The Flash when The Flash failed to show up at the appointed time. So Thawne did it to start their rivalry anew and this whole timeline from that moment Thawne ran back to the future was all a reverse-Flashpoint.
So with Batman distracting Thawne before he died, and The Flash killed Thawne. The Flash ran all the way back in time to stop Thawne, save future Thawne from this path, save Supergirl, Mera, and billions of others. As Thawne was about to emerge from the Speed Force finally returning home when a speedster in sliver and blue armor emerges, grabbing Thawne by the shoulder, lifting him up and slamming him into the ground.
Thawne removed his cowl and got to his feet staring at the crazed and insane armored Future Flash of Earth-89 driven insane from grief and loss. Thawne just shakes his head vibrating his hands in an attempt to kill him but purple lighting launched from the Future Flash traps Thawne in a cage of purple lighting painfully shocking him before the Future Flash waved his hand slamming Thawne violently into the sands.
Thawne tried to get up but Future Flash grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up by his left hand holding Thawne by the throat. The Future Flash held his right hand with a wrist blade extending out.
"Who are you?" Thawne yelled out in rage.
"Savitar! The God of Speed!" Savitar said in a dark, fluid, and distorted voice.
"You may have created your own Speed Force Thawne, but I rule over all Speed Forces. You are only a man! Where I am a god! Your God!" Savitar said in a menacing voice. Thawne struggled in vain to get free.
"Wrong! You're still just Barry Allen, The Flash!" Thawne said, recognizing the kryptonian armor over the blue flash suit.
"I AM SAVITAR!" Savitar said in an angry commanding and echoing tone.
"Let's go for a run!" Savitar said, running out of the Chrono Bowl through a distorted tunnel of purple lighting dragging Thawne behind him like a rag doll.
Savitar ran back to his timeline while the world was engulfed in the flames of war by the rivers of Central City outside of a ruined and inflamed Star Labs. Savitar threw a dozen lightning fast punches at Thawne while he was on the ground. Then grabbed him before he could get his bearings running him to the deserts of Coast City throwing him to the ground.
As Thawne tumbled across the ground Savitar snatched him entering his speed tunnel and to the docks of Metropolis. Savitar was moving so fast he was appearing and reappearing all across the eastern seaboard brutalizing Thawne while the Amazons, Alatains, humans, and various heroes and villains fought in the flaming cities behind them.
"Had enough?" Savitar asked.
"Not even close." Thawne said spitefully getting to his feet but Savitar struck him from the left and right before Thawne could do anything then kicked and stomped on him while he was down then proceeded to pummel him. Savitar circled around Thawne.
"Still alive down there?" Savitar asked. Thawne groans.
"You're a shadow beneath my throne. You're the past, and the key to the true future. My Future…Thawne." Savitar told him.
Savitar grabbed Thawne by the throat, lifting him up to see knees looking at Thawne's bloody face caressing his blade along the side of Thawne's face. Savitar then ran them to a deserted ally in the ruined city of Gotham.
"Look at what your hatred of me has brought Thawne. Misery, suffering, and death. It ends today." Savitar told him. Thawne struggles to his feet looking around then smiles.
"Just more victims Barry Allen failed to save!" Thawne said with his eyes glowing red. Savitar just stared at him coldly.
"You haven't changed Barry, you're still running from the truth and the truth is no matter what you do you can't save them! Time will always correct itself, this world will always be on the path to destruction! No matter how many times you prevent it, you're only delaying the inevitable and you're running away from the truth trying desperately to buy more time for them. You can't save this timeline, you can't save this world, and you can't save HER!" Thawne said, putting his cowl back on and racing toward Savitar who raced back at him.
Thawne and Savitar leap at each other grabbing each other's throats in mid-air. Savitar overtakes Thawne slamming him to the ground then they run all over Gotham to Crime Alley.
"I'm going to kill you this time Flash!" Thawne told him, staring him down the alley where the Waynes were killed.
"If you had the strength to end my life you would have done it in your timeline or in the past of mine before I became Savitar." Savitar told him.
"Barry Allen doesn't kill, he is a good guy. The boy the Allens raised the man Kara loves, you had it all. Don't you see I had to take it away from you to make you just like him! Practice for killing the real Barry Allen! My Barry Allen!" Thawne told him.
Savitar stopped in his tracks and just stared at Thawne with unspeakable hate in his glowing purple eyes. Savitar raced forward slamming Thawne into the wall. Thawne ducked and ran behind Savitar who put his fist through the wall. Savitar pulled his hand out turning to face Thawne.
"I'm going to kill you like I did in the future Thawne." Savitar told him. Thawne's eyes widened.
"I'm going to show you the truth Thawne. Then you'll realize I'm a god." Savitar told him.
"You're not a god!" Thawne yelled, throwing a dozen punches at Savitar but the armor absorbed the blows and Thawne only bloody up his fists.
When Thawne saw he was only hurting himself he ran away and up to a roof only to be cut off by Savitar and knocked all the way back to the ground on top of a dumpster. Thawne rolled off the dumpster hitting the ground battered, beaten, and bruised.
Thawne didn't want to admit it but this version of Barry was faster then him and that armor he wore protected him. He could easily finish him off but now he was toying with him. Why? Thawne thought. What was Savitar waiting for?
Savitar dropped from the roof like batman slamming into the ground like Supergirl walking menacing toward Thawne running his clawed hands along the wall. Thawne raced over trying to get away, punching Savitar across his armor mask but Savitar grabs him by the throat so Thawne phases through running into Savitar who counter phases to stop Thawne from instantly killing him.
So Thawne jumps on the back of Savitar and proceeds to vibe his hand through Savitar's back but Savitar reaches over him and flings Thawne into the alley wall then stabs him in the shoulder and brings up his right leg and smashes the right knee cap of Thawne taking away his ability to run. Savitar looks up at the sky then back down at Thawne.
"It's time." Savitar grabs Thawne and races him to the site of the final battle on an adjacent roof overlooking the battle from the high place.
Thawne was on his knees, in brutal pain his broken leg was in. His suit was torn up from the fight, and he was bleeding from the forehead and mouth. Thawne looked down toward the ground to see the Flash fighting with the Reverse-Flash of this timeline. Thawne saw his timeline counterpart defeat Barry in the blue flash costume then while he was down and everyone was dying around them he revealed why he hated Barry and how he stole his greatest moment.
It was at that moment as The Flash was on all fours he realized this wasn't the Alternate Timeline Thawne, this Reverse-Flash was his timeline's Thawne. That night when Thawne ran back home to the future and Barry didn't show up he disguised himself as The Flash and stole his own greatest moment from himself and put his Thawne on the path to being his greatest enemy. Everything leading up to this point, the failed attempt to bring back Supergirl, this war between the Amazons and Alatains, it was all Thawne. This was his Flashpoint. A Reverse-Flashpoint.
A weakened Batman shows up to distract Thawne giving an enraged Flash the opening he needs to vibe his hand through the back of Thawne and killed him. Batman fell to the ground succumbing to his injuries. The Flash held Batman in his arms, Batman heard everything and encouraged The Flash to run back in time this one time and set things right. Batman told him the only way to save this world was to make sure it never happened.
So as Orm and Black Manta set off their bomb which was so powerful it engulfed the world in nuclear fire killing everyone on the planet Thawne saw The Flash run back in time to become Savitar to stop him and bring him here to this point so they both could die. This would prevent Thawne from going to the future and stealing his greatest moment and putting his timeline self on the path to becoming The Reverse Flash, this would also mean Thawne would not be there to stop the resurrection of Supergirl to cause more pain and suffering to Barry.
It also meant Thawne would not be there to cause the fight between Mera and Wonder Woman which resulted in this war that ultimately leads to the death of this world that was originally supposed to happen during the conflict with Zod.
It was a loop, The Flash runs back in time, becomes Savitar, stops Thawne from running into the future to steal his greatest moment to bring him back here to die in the flashpoint of his own making witnessing his defeat at the hands of the Flash then again at Savitar then at the end when they both die and get erased resetting not only the timeline of Earth-89 at this chrono point but also the version of Thawne who after he stole his greatest moment ran to another Earth and timeline is erased from existence as well as the damages he caused in that timeline.
Barry had done it, he won. Barry had outsmarted him and Barry had trapped Thawne in such a way that once Thawne realized the truth there was nothing he could do because he had a broken leg. All he could do was yell No as Savitar killed him.
"FINALLY I AM FREE OF YOU!" Savitar said with a swirl of purple lighting around his blade as he ran it through the back of Thawne like the Dark Flash did to him during Flashpoint. Savitar had won, Thawne was dead and the fires that scorched the Earth incinerated both of them and in a flash that whole timeline was gone and once again the timeline was rebooted by Barry Allen from the starting point after the Allens were murdered and Thawne ran back into the Speed Force.
As for the present, time continued to progress normally free from Thawne's influence and machinations. Doomsday would still come as a way of Time correcting itself in having humanity be wiped out by Kryptonains only this time just one nearly unstoppable one. Mera would still join the Justice League in an attempt to stop Doomsday. Barry Allen would return as The Flash, with the aid of Batman but it wouldn't be enough. In the end Supergirl would die stopping Doomsday.
Only this time, when Cyborg joins the Justice League with Wonder Woman and they try to keep the Mother boxes out of the hands of Steppen Wolf, they are successful in reviving Supergirl. With her back on the team Steppen Wolf and the Parademons are easily dealt with. Thanks to Cyborg, The Flash, and Supergirl, the unity of the Mother Boxes was stopped and once again this Justice League prevented another event that would have spelled the death of this world.
From here since Thawne isn't around, Mera and Wonder Woman never have their fight and the war and the billions that die never happens. From here the future is unwritten but for the first time our heroes have peace. Barry Allen stands on his porch looking up at the bright sunny sky with Kara wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him from behind. The future was finally there for the making.
Meanwhile in the future, when Thawne was about to present himself to the world, The Flash never showed up to save the crowd. Thawne revealed himself to the world, saved the crowd, and the crowd thanked him. It was his greatest moment, he became a hero, The Flash of the 23rd Century fighting alongside his era's Justice League and honoring the Legacy of The Flash. Until he ran back in time to meet his hero The Flash and learned the truth. Enraged and feeling humiliated, the rivalry between Barry and Thawne started anew…but that's a story for another time…
