She's my Mate

This is a one-shot that stuck in my head one night and I couldn't sleep thinking of it so I wrote it down.
Also, this story is not in favor of Edward or the Cullens as far as that goes. Just Jasper and Bella.
My name is Bella Swan I'm 20 years old and I've been living with the Cullen family since my father was killed a year ago by none other than Victoria. My ex-best friend Jacob Black told me that the pack had killed her that very same night, but Edward didn't believe him so he kept a tight hold on me so she wouldn't get a chance to find me, so I was not allowed to venture out without one of his family with me, but mainly with him.
At the same time, Jake, told me if I didn't move down to the Rez that he wouldn't have anything to do with me ever again and he banned me from the Reservation. I was heartbroken, but I loved Edward I couldn't stay away from him so I walked away from the Reservation to never venture there again.
I mainly stay in the Cullens' house either in Edwards's room or in the music room when he is playing his piano. So, yeah it gets kind of boring. There are times when he allows me to play video games with Emmett, but that is too few and far between.
I wonder sometimes why I put up with this kind of treatment, but as soon as I bring it up to Edward to let him know I don't appreciate the way he treats me he says a few words and I see how wrong I was to say anything about it. He loves me and only cares about my safety.
I don't even have my best friend anymore, I'm not speaking of Jacob, but Alice. She says she found her soul mate and took off with him…and here I thought Jasper was her mate and so did everyone else from the way they reacted to what happened. They told Jasper that they didn't approve of Alice's treatment of him and he was welcome to stay with them for as long as he wished.
I guess he was going to stay with us but he still went away to visit his brother in Venom for a while to figure things out. I feel so sorry for him I know how deep that had to hurt. I feel like that sometimes, but Edward always finds a way to make me feel loved and wanted.
I'm still trying to get Edward to change me into a Vampire, but he still says no that he will not destroy my soul which is the topic of our constant arguments and of course Rose has her say every time the subject comes up around her. So, most of the time I keep quiet unless we are alone or I talk to Carlisle about it and ask him why he won't do it himself considering the Volturi will be coming soon enough and if I'm not changed, they will kill me and his entire family, but he says it's Edward decision because I am his mate and he won't go against him on this. I'm beginning to see a pattern here… It's so aggravating!
He even put a tracker on my car, which pissed me off. After Charlie's death he sold my truck and to be honest, he at least put what he got for it into my account, but it still pissed me off.
Whatever he is doing to me is starting to wear off and I'm starting to see things like this quite often. Not that he hasn't done things like this in the past. I always complained when he wouldn't let me make my own decisions on things. But he would do something that would send me off into another way of thinking. What? I had no idea and didn't care at the time, but the more I think about it after a while it bothered me.
He bought me this off-the-wall car that looked like a tank but still looked a lot like Emmett's mammoth of a car, but mine was easier to get into at least.
I'm beginning to think that Edward doesn't love me like he says he does. He still won't touch me I still only get chasten kisses and he ignores me most of the time unless he hears something he doesn't like.
For if I want to go out or I say something to one of the family he thinks I shouldn't be talking to them about…Like when I spoke to Esme about Jasper he ran up to me grabbed me and took me to his room he told me not to talk to anyone about Jasper before I could ask why he began to leave and told me not to leave this room until I learn how to be a lady which starts another argument and all of a sudden I'm lost and I'm the one who is apologizing once again, it's annoying. How have I been so agitated in one minute and apologetic in the next? After a while, I began to wonder. But what happened next made everything come to light.
I was sitting in the living room watching Emmett play his game when all of a sudden, all the Cullens were in the room with us and staring at the door including Emmett.
"What's going on?" I ask and no one says anything when the doorbell rings. Carlisle sighs and goes to open the door and I notice Emmett pull Rose into his arms and put her behind him, Edward walks over to me but he doesn't touch me and I look at him as I wonder what's going on and when Carlisle enters back into the room, he is leading the Volturi into the room and is looking at Edward. I smack Edward on the arm knowing it hurt me more than him and I sigh.
They look at me of course and sigh themselves. "I see Miss Swan is still human, why is that, Edward?" Aro asks.
"Then she must die," Caius says before Edward can answer, and the Cullens all sigh, all but Edward and he begins.
"I'd rather see her dead than be one of us," he says and I look horrified at what he just said.
"What!" I exclaim and look at him and then at Carlisle who is just shaking his head.
"She will come with us and we will decide what is to come of Miss Swan," Aro replies. And once again I call out.
"What!" and my breathing picks up. I've heard what the Volturi do to others and now I become scared.
"She belongs to me!" Edward claims and I just look at him as if he's lost his mind.
"She's her person Edward, not a thing you can claim as yours she decides to make not yours," Rose exclaims.
"She's not his mate," one of the brothers says so now I'm looking at him. The bored one who can see bonds I think they call him Marcus.
And once again, I say "What!" it seems that's all I can say. Perhaps it is the shock of what's happening at the moment.
"Her blood belongs to me so if anyone gets to kill her it will be me," Edward chimes in again and everyone looks at him with their mouths hanging open.
"Son, you will not kill Bella," Carlisle says sternly to Edward.
"She's my mate to do with what I will," Edwards says again. I look at Carlisle as he shakes his head.
"Son if she was your mate you wouldn't want to drain her you would care for her, change her, love her like I thought you did," he says.
"Carlisle, I've been sipping at her blood for two years, so that makes her mine," Edward tells him which shocks all of us and once again that same word leaves my mouth.
"What!"
"I put you under my lure and I take a few sips of your blood. It's mine, I should be the one to drain you not them," he says and I'm in shock. He doesn't love me he loves my blood. Every one of my friends from the rez tried to tell me but I never listened. I believed Edward wouldn't do that to me, but he did and he doesn't love me. I just stand there staring at him and I back away from him and into Carlisle's arms.
"She must come with us Carlisle and if there's no fuss will not take action against your coven. By rights I could kill you all, by the way, aren't you missing a couple of your children?" Aro asks. Carlisle nods and tells him about Alice and that Jasper is visiting his brother in venom. "Ah, yes, the 'Captain', Aro says and looks at me.
"Are ready to go, Bella," he asked and I looked at the Cullens none of them offering to help me all staring at the ground I was still in shock and shook my head.
"No, I won't go," I tell them and start walking to the stairs to get away from these people I don't recognize.
"Demitri grab Miss Swan," Aro said as his guard grabbed me and I began fighting to get away and they knocked me out.
The next thing I know is that I'm on an airplane tied down to one of the seats with my mouth covered so I can't scream.
"I'm sorry my dear, but I can't have you causing trouble on this plane," Aro explains. I just sit there looking at him knowing there is nothing I can do, so I just sit and wait to be turned into a vampire, because I know they won't kill me especially since Ellazar told me that I was a shield and to make sure Aro doesn't find out or he'd find a way to get me to Italy. Well, I guess he found out.
A week later Jasper comes back to the Cullens' feeling better realizing that Bella is his mate and that Alice and Edward had been lying to them both since the beginning. He was coming home to face off with Edward and to claim his mate. He looks around only to not see Bella anywhere, which seems unusual considering Edward never let her out of his site.
"Where is Bella?" Jasper asks looking at Emmett and Rose.
"The Volturi took her," Emmett says as Jasper starts to growl. Why wasn't I told? Why didn't you all stop them?" he asked growing angrier by the minute.
"There was nothing we could do, Son," Carlisle says as he walks into the room.
"Why was there nothing you could do?" He snarled.
"They would have killed us all," Carlisle said, as the rest of the family walked into the room.
"You," Jasper says as he speeds up to Edward grabs him by the throat, and shoves him into the wall behind him.
"Jasper, let him go," Carlisle insisted, but Jasper just stared at Edward. "You and Alice have lied to us all about Bella being your mate. Lied to me because she was afraid to lose me and you lied so you could have her blood. You son of a bitch this is all yours and Alice's fault," Jasper admits.
"Edward?" Carlisle asked worried now.
"How did you find out?" Edward asks ignoring Carlisle trying to push Jasper off of him but he can't.
"I've been with my brother how do you think I found out," Jasper says. "If you would have just admitted this in the beginning she would have been turned and with me. I've got to rescue her from the Volturi who I'm sure knows all of this and is using your lies to try and keep her for themselves," Jasper continued and threw Edward across the room. Edward crawls to his feet rubbing his throat.
"You too late anyway, they've been gone a while so she's either dead or turned already," Edward says without a worry to himself.
"You had better hope that she's just turned or you and Alice are dead," Jasper promises.
"Carlisle won't let you kill me," Edward says with a chuckle.
"Carlisle won't be able to stop me, Jasper says as he turns and runs to his room to pack for his trip to Italy.
"Don't hold your breath for me to protect you, Edward. What you and Alice did was uncalled for you deserve punishment for what you two did and I for one won't stop Jasper if he comes for you especially if they killed Bella," Carlisle said sincerely.
Edward looked at Carlisle god smacked and took off for his room and there he stayed until after Jasper left for Italy.
I've been in Italy for a week now. Aro himself turned me and I didn't feel the pain. I guess due to my shield it protected me. Aro sent Alec to train me to use my gift, but I pretty much ignored him. What could he do? No one there could hurt me. The last thing Aro should have done was to turn me. Now, they couldn't stop me if they tried.
And besides I already knew how to use my gifts I was complete when I woke up, my demon side taught me everything while I burned.
Before, Alec left he told me Aro wanted to see me. I nodded and he took off. I was walking in the hallway when I heard someone yelling and I knew immediately who it was…
"Jasper," I whispered, and when I said that, I saw Chelsea walking toward the citadel and I knew then that they were going to try and bind Jasper to the Volutri. Now I couldn't have that so I threw my shield around Jasper as I walked to the door and flung it open.
At that moment I knew what I heard Jasper say before I entered that I was his mate was the truth. And Aro much like Edward treated me like his property and cared little for my well-being like he did most of his people. But I had had enough, I was tired of being treated so badly and I would make sure it never happened again.
"You knew, did you?" I asked Aro.
"Knew what my dear?" he countered.
"That I was not Edward's mate and that I had a shield as my gift?" I replied.
"It doesn't matter whether I did know or not, you are still here with my venom running through your veins and here you will stay," Aro said mean-fully.
"You breaking your laws now Aro?" Jasper asked.
"I don't know what you mean, but that attitude will get you in trouble, young man," Aro commanded.
"I mean that you keep matted couples away from one another?" Jasper explained.
"If you wish to stay with your, mate you are free to do so as long as it is in these walls," Aro commanded.
"And what if she doesn't wish to be here?" Jasper comes back.
"She is new born and by law, she is to stay here until her year or so is up," Aro says.
"She is no natural newborn and you know it and besides I will be with her to make sure she is safe," Jasper tells him.
"She is my responsibility and she will stay here as long as I say," Aro says arrogantly. I also notice no one else says a word and I wonder then and there if they are afraid of Jasper. Even Caius says little to nothing I even heard him tell Aro to take care with his wording when speaking to the God of War.
I have heard others talk of the God of War many times only for Aro to quiet them when they are around me. Now I see why. They are afraid of him. Well, I guess they should be afraid of me as well. They just don't know it yet.
I saw Aro look over to Chelsea and I watched as she shook her head in response to his silent question. That's when I knew for sure that they tried to turn Jasper to their side.
It was then that I spoke up. "Well, it seems your little plan in Chelsea bringing the Major to Volturi has failed. Now I'm glad I shielded him from her when I saw her enter the citadel," I spoke. Aro turned and looked at Alec who only shook his head back to Aro.
"I didn't know you received your gifts. Alec never told me he had succeeded in training you.
"That's because he didn't. My demon taught me while I burned and taught much more than that I must admit, and you Aro have no control over me…not anymore," I completed.
"I am your ruler and you will respect me and do as I say!" he yells. And I chuckle.
"I think not, Aro," I say and grab Jasper's hand. This will make us stronger, not that they could do anything against us anyway. Were much stronger than anyone in this Castle.
I hear Caius warn Aro as Aro stands to his feet and orders his guard to attack Jasper and take me into custody. I noticed not one of his guards do anything but look at one another not knowing what to do. So, I used my gift to push Aro back into his chair and told him to 'stay' like he was the dog in this scenario not one of his constituents like he treats like his lap dogs.
As we were walking out of the citadel Aro got back to his feet and yelled, "I will kill all of your family," I laughed and said, "Good luck with that," then he continued.
"I will kill the captain and his mate," he continues this time Jasper chuckles. And adds "Good luck with that as well, Aro."
"I will kill all of the Cullens'," he says with that evil smile of his. Jasper stops and looks at me, and I smile, and turn to look at Aro.
"Why would I care if you kill the Cullens'. They didn't do anything to stop you from taking me. Do as you must, but before you do remember Carlisle has a lot of friends in the vampire world and will look down on you if you do, Oh and a couple of other things I learned while I burned. Concerning Caius and Marcus.
Caius did you know Aro had Chelsea brought you under his control," I say as Caius looks at Aro with a curious look as anger grows and he growls. Oh, and Marcus did you know Aro killed his sister and your mate because he didn't want you to leave so he also had Chelsea bind you to him as well," I say as Jasper takes my hand once again and we walk out the door.
I found out later that Jasper found out that the Cullens' knew of Alice's little lie of Jasper being her mate and just never said a word to him about it. So, he could care less for the Cullens' and that is why we are going to go live with his brother and his mate.
I can hear growls and yelling coming from the citadel as we leave to join his brother and his mate. We knew that they wouldn't do anything to get us back especially with us teaming up with the Captain and his mate. So, we will live happily ever after forever.
