"What do you got Melinda?" Elliot asked as he walked onto the crime scene Olivia close behind him.
Melinda was crotched down over the body.
"Dead female aged between 15 and 18 years old. She was raped, beaten and strangled. Not sure which one killed her though. I'll know more after I get her on my table."
"Do we have an ID?" Olivia asked.
"Nothing on the body." Melinda said.
"So, what do you think?" Olivia asked her partner.
"Well, she looks to clean to be a pro and there is nothing here. No blood nothing so it has to be a dumb job."
"Yeah, now all we have to do is ID her and tell her parents."
"Worst part of the job." Elliot said as he and Olivia looked at the young girl's body.
"We get an ID on our Jane Doe?" Cragen asked as he walked across the bull pin.
"Yes, we did' Olivia said as she pulled out a file 'Her name is Mia Gage, she is 16 years old, reported missing three days ago."
"By who?" Cragen asked.
"Her mother."
"Where's she from?"
"Virginia, Munch is on the phone with Virginia State police now."
"Keep me posted." Cragen said as he walked into his office.
"Anything Munch?" Elliot asked.
"Still on hold." Munch said as he tapped on his desk with a pencil.
"Uh – oh." Finn said suddenly.
"What?" Elliot asked.
"Feds in the house." Finn said as he nodded toward the door of the squad room.
Elliot turned toward the door and saw two men in suits. One an older white man with silver hair and the other was a slightly younger black man with a mustache and receding hair line.
"Captain Cragen? The black man asked.
"Gentlemen this way." Cragen said stepping out of his office.
They made their way into Cragen's office as the four detectives watched them.
"Why do I have a feeling were about to be bent over our desks." Elliot said.
"Hello…' Munch said suddenly drawing everyone's attention. '…. Yes, I'm calling about a missing girl Mia Gage age 16… really you don't…. alright thanks anyways." Munch said.
"What is it Munch?" Olivia asked.
"The Virginia State Police don't have a missing person file on Mia Gage."
"What do you mean?" Olivia asked.
"Who else would have it?" Elliot asked.
"I don't know." Munch said.
"So, what do we do now?" Finn asked.
"Well, we could…."
"Elliot, Olivia can you come in here?" Cragen suddenly called out cutting off Elliot mid-sentence. Elliot and Olivia got up with questioning looks.
"What's this about?" Olivia asked Elliot.
"I don't know just get ready to spread 'em." Elliot said as they walked into Cragen's office.
"Detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson meet NCIS director Leon Vance and Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs." Cragen said as he made introductions for the four people standing in his office.
"Gibbs?" Elliot said suddenly as something clicked.
"Stabler?" Gibbs said as the same recognition crossed his mind.
"You two know each other?" Cragen asked.
"How?" Vance seconded.
"We served together during Desert Storm' Gibbs said, 'How have you been?' he asked as he reached out and shook hands with Elliot.
"Been doing alright you?"
"Can't complain." Gibbs said.
"What can we do for you gentlemen?" Cragen asked trying to get everyone back on topic.
"Our system told us you got a match to a Mia Gage. We would like to speak with her." Vance said.
"Well, that's going to be an issue." Elliot said.
"Why?" Gibbs asked.
"Because she's dead." Elliot said.
"Why is NCIS interested in her?" Olivia asked.
"Mia's father is a commander in the Navy and is currently deployed. The night she disappeared she was baby sitting three younger girls and they are also missing." Gibbs explained.
"Thank you for your help detectives but NCIS will be taking over the investigation." Vance said.
"Whoa hold on a second she was killed in Manhattan it makes it our case." Elliot said.
"She was kidnapped in Virginia crossing state lines makes it federal and you don't know where she was killed. She could have just been dumped in Manhattan." Vance said.
"Hang on a second' Olivia said, 'You said there are three other little girls who are missing."
"Yes." Gibbs said.
"God only knows what's happening to them. When you find them, you're going to need experts there who can help you with them." Olivia explained.
"Are you proposing a joint op?" Vance asked.
"Sounds like it." Cragen said.
"We get to prosecute." Vance stated.
"That's not our job you'll have to fight that out with the district attorney. For now, Elliot, Olivia pack your bags you're going with them." Cragen said.
"We have a plane leaving in two hours from the Manhattan Navy Base. Well brief you on our case when we get back to DC." Vance said.
Gibbs and Vance collected their things and left Cragen's office. Elliot and Olivia looked back and forth between each other and Cragen.
"What are you two still doing here get a move on."
They quickly left Cragen's office and grabbed their coats. They were meet by the confused looks on Munch and Finns faces.
"What's going on?" Finn asked.
"We got bent over." Elliot said.
"What do you mean?" Munch asked.
"Turns out Mia's father is in the Navy and she was watching three younger girls and they are now missing. We're working this with the feds to find the girls. We have to get on a flight to DC." Olivia explained.
"Keep us posted." Finn said.
"Will do." Elliot said as he and Olivia left the squad.
They grabbed their go bags from their lockers and made their way to the base where they met Vance and Gibbs. The four of them boarded the plane and made their way to NCIS headquarters in DC.
Gibbs walked Elliot and Olivia through security and helped them get their firearms for their stay at NCIS. Then he took them up to the bull pin where his team and Vance were waiting.
"Gibbs all good?"
"Yes sir."
"Alright keep me in the loop." Vance said as he headed up to his office.
Gibbs nodded at Vance as if to say, 'I will'.
"Alright before you tell me what you got; I brought some help. These are NYPD detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. They are SVU detectives, and they deal with these types of cases everyday they will be an asset to us. Elliot, Olivia this is my team Special Agents Tony DiNozzo, Tim McGee and Ziva David. So, what do you got?"
"Right boss.' McGee said as he picked up the clicker to the plasma. 'Mia Gage age 16 went missing three days ago and was found this morning raped beaten and strangled in Manhattan. The night she went missing she was baby sitting three younger girls. Jade Bennett age 9, Ivette Malo age 7, and Julia Littleton age 5." McGee said as the four school pictures were now on the plasma.
"Currently all four girls' fathers are deployed on different ships' Tony said as he took the clicker from McGee and pictures of the fathers appeared on the plasma. 'Commander Paul Gage is on the USS George Washington, Captain John Bennett is on the USS Theodore Roosevelt, Commander David Malo is on the USS Abraham Lincoln and Captain Andrew Littleton is on the USS Ronald Reagan." Tony finished as he tossed the clicker back to McGee.
"What's the theory here?" Elliot asked.
"Were trying to find a connection between the four of them." Ziva said.
"Any ransom demands?' Elliot asked. 'I can't see this as a pedophile kidnap."
"Why?" Tony asked.
"Because the age of the victims. Pedophiles typically stick to one age group they don't kidnap four girls in various age groups. So there has to be a connection or was this a crime of opportunity." Elliot said.
"Were also working that angle' McGee said 'The moms have a book club that meets once a week at the community center and the girls stay home. Mia always baby sits, and they rotate houses. So, either the kidnapper got really lucky, or they've been watching the families for a while and they know the pattern." McGee said.
"Have you checked the computer?" Olivia asked.
"They are with our forensic specialist now." McGee answered.
"Got something." Ziva said suddenly.
"Put it up." Gibbs said. As the team gathered around the plasma and McGee tossed her the clicker.
"Four years ago, Gage, Bennett, Malo, and Littleton were petty officers on the USS Gerald Ford, and they served under this man. Ben Williams.' She said as his picture came up on the plasma. 'He was a commander at the time and was up for promotion to captain until the four petty officers reported him for dealing drugs in the port cities. It cost him his promotion and he was dishonorably discharged from the Navy six months later." Ziva concluded.
"I want everything on Ben Williams now." Gibbs said.
The team frantically went to work on their computers while Olivia and Elliot checked in with Finn and Munch in New York to see if they had any news or any new evidence.
"Got something." McGee said a few minutes later.
"What'd ya got?" Gibbs asked as the team gathered around him.
"Six months ago, he sold off all his property and his family business and bought a warehouse up in Baltimore. That's the only property listed in his name." McGee said.
"Grab your gear lets go. McGee Ziva you're with Tony. Elliot Olivia you're with me. Call paramedics and have them meet us at the warehouse. No lights and sirens we spook him, and he'll kill the others." Gibbs said.
The team hurried out of the bull pin. As they were leaving Gibbs locked eyes with Vance and they nodded as they went in their respective directions. They rushed to the cars and then to Baltimore. A race against time trying to save the others from meeting the same fate as Mia.
When they got to the warehouse paramedics were already on site. The team quickly got out and suited up. Making sure their weapons were locked and loaded and ready to go. Their earpieces were in and they made sure they were in communication.
"Alright Ziva, Olivia take the side door, McGee, DiNozzo take the loading door, Elliot and I will take the front. Stay together and stay in communication. We move on my mark. Let's bring these girls home." Gibbs said.
The team divided up and went to their respective doors.
"Ready?" Gibbs asked over the radio.
"In position." Ziva responded.
"Ready boss." Tony responded.
"Alright on my mark… now." Gibbs said as they stormed the warehouse. The teams made their way through the warehouse until they all ended up in the center of the warehouse. Gibbs and Elliot saw something move and then they heard a pipe drop.
"Federal Agents." Gibbs shouted as they team followed the noise down a small hallway that was lined with four closed doors.
"Ziva. Tony." Gibbs said as he gestured to the first two doors. Ziva opened the first with Oliva and McGee on her back. Tony took the other with Gibbs and Elliot on his back.
"In here." McGee said.
They saw two of the girls on the floor unconscious. Their hands and feet were bound, and they had blindfolds over their eyes and gags in their mouths.
"Jade and Ivette' Elliot said. 'They're alive." He said as he checked their pulse.
"Elliot, McGee get them out of here.' Gibbs said. 'Olivia stay with us. Let's find Julia."
Elliot picked up Jade and McGee took Ivette as they made their way out of the warehouse. They started to head to the next set of rooms when they heard the frightened screams and cries of a terrified child. They made their way to the next door and Tony broke it down. They came face to face with Ben Williams as he used Julia as a human shield with a gun to her head. She screamed and cried in terror trying to get away from the man holding her captive.
"Let the girl go." Gibbs called out as all four had guns drawn and pointed at him.
"Gibbs look." Ziva whispered as she adjusted her gun angle and aimed for his belt buckle.
It was then that Gibbs realized why. The little girl had blood running down her leg.
"Back away or I'll shoot her." Ben said as he pressed the gun harder into her head.
The little girl screamed and cried harder.
"Julia, sweetie look at me, its going to be ok." Gibbs said reassuringly to the little girl.
"Ben let her go she's a little girl." Olivia spoke up.
"She's my way out of here." Ben said as he held her tighter.
"No, she's your way into a body bag." Tony said.
"But if you let her go and let me, take her place then you have a chance." Gibbs said as he holstered his weapon and put his hands up.
They could see Ben think over his options. Then he dropped the girl and she hit the ground hard.
"OW." She cried out.
"DiNozzo." Gibbs said.
Tony holstered his weapon and ran up and picked up the little girl who clung to him and cried. Olivia took his place behind Gibbs with her weapon fixed on Ben.
"Now you walk over here." Ben demanded pointing his gun at Gibbs.
"Ladies?" Gibbs asked as he walked forward.
"Got it." They said calmly together.
Ben looked between them terrified and confused.
"Good take it." He said.
"Take wh…." Ben started but was cut off by gun shots as 6 shots rang out.
Gibbs walked over and kicked the gun away and saw the 6 bullet holes in the body. One in the groin, four in the chest, and one in the head.
"Alright let's secure the scene and check on the girls." Gibbs said as they made their way out of the warehouse.
When they got outside, they saw the girls on stretchers waiting to be loaded into the ambulance. They also noticed that Tony was sitting on one of the stretchers with the little girl in his arms.
"What happened?" Elliot asked the trio as they exited the warehouse.
"Suspects dead.' Gibbs said. "What's going on with DiNozzo?" Gibbs asked.
"She freaked out every time he put her down. She's clinging on to him crying for her daddy but as long as he holds her, she's calm. The other two are still out." Elliot explained.
"Alright. How do you guys normally handle this?" Gibbs asked Elliot and Olivia.
"Normally we have someone ride along with them to the hospital."
"Alright Olivia ride with Jade, Ziva ride with Ivette. Elliot, McGee and I will meet you at the hospital and Tony can ride with Julia."
They nodded and started to head their ways.
"Boss, you coming?" McGee called out.
"I'll drive the second car' he called back. 'Go on with out me. I'll meet you there." He said as he headed to the ambulance with Tony sitting on the stretcher.
As he approached, he heard the commotion going on as the EMTs tried to convince the little girl on to the stretcher.
"What's going on?" He asked the driver.
"She won't let him put her down. It seems like she made a close connection with him. But we need her on the stretcher for transport." The driver explained.
"Let me try." Gibbs said.
"Be our guest." The driver said.
Gibbs made his way over to the stretcher.
"Hey.' He said gently. He was met with sad eyes. 'Can I ask you a question?"
She nodded her head.
"Do you like teddy bears?"
She nodded her head again.
"Alright. Well, I'll tell you what if you let my friend Tony put you down on the stretcher I'll meet you at the hospital and I'll bring you a teddy bear."
She clutched on to Tony.
"Yeah, Tony can come too. He'll ride in the ambulance right next to you. Ok?"
She nodded her head slowly. Tony got up and laid her down gently and covered her with a blanket. She grabbed his hand and didn't let go as she was loaded into the ambulance. Gibbs watched them leave and made his way back to his car and then to the hospital after making a quick pit stop.
"Any word?" Gibbs asked as he walked up to his team in the hospital waiting room with a bag in his hand. He was surprised to see Tony standing there with them.
Tony saw his bosses quizzical stare and answered his question. "The doctor is in with them now. I excused myself from the room so the doctor could examine her. We should know something soon."
"Did any of them say anything on the way here?" Gibbs asked.
"Ivette never woke up." Ziva said.
"Jade either." Olivia said.
"Julia just cried and asked for her daddy the entire ride here.' Tony said. Tony looked up and saw the doctor walking towards them. 'Dr. Newman this is my boss Special Agent Gibbs and our other agent McGee, and this is NYPD officer Elliot Stabler and you met Agent David and Detective Benson."
"Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Newman and I've been treating the girls since they came in."
"How are they?" Olivia asked.
"Well, Jade and Ivette were sedated repeatedly and heavily with ketamine. That's the main thing we're treating them for now. They have rope burns on their wrists and ankles and a few other cuts and bruises. Other than that, they appear to be fine at least physically." Dr. Newman explained.
"And Julia?" Tony asked.
"She's another story. We are treating her for a mild overdose were unsure how much ketamine she was given. She has cuts, bruises and rope burns on her wrists and ankles. But unlike the other two she was raped.' The entire team was heartbroken, they were trying to prevent that. 'We started the exam but didn't want to traumatize her further so when she's clear well have her sedated and examined by the child sex abuse specialist we have coming in to see her. We'll have the other girls examined too just to be safe but were pretty sure they weren't touched."
"Can we talk to them?" Elliot asked.
"Julia is awake but the other two are still out of it and were not sure when they well wake up. But you can go in: Julia is in room 210, Ivette is in room 211, and Jade is in room 212." Dr. Newman read off his clipboard.
"Thank you, Dr. Newman.' Gibbs said as he shook hands with the doctor, and he left. 'Alright Elliot and Olivia take Jade, McGee and Ziva take Ivette and Tony and I will take Julia."
"One of us should talk to her." Olivia said gesturing between her and Elliot.
"Normally I would agree but she's formed an attachment to Tony so that might make her comfortable and I brought the girls these.' Gibbs said pulling the simple brown teddy bears from the bag he held. 'I thought they might help as well."
Olivia smiled and nodded. The team headed up to the girl's rooms each armed with a teddy bear for their girl.
Gibbs and DiNozzo knocked on the open door of Julia's room and as they walked in the door Gibbs slipped back into his papa bear mode.
"Hey' Gibbs said in a gentle voice. 'Do you remember me?"
The little girl nodded.
"Good and I brought Tony with me." Gibbs said as the little girl reached for Tony.
Tony sat down in the chair next to her and took her small hand in his and held it tight.
"I also remembered that you liked teddy bears, so I brought you a little friend." Gibbs said as he held up the teddy bear.
The little girl let go of Tony's hand and reached out for the bear and hugged it close to her.
"Is it ok if we talk?" Gibbs asked.
The little girl reached out for Tony again. "I want my daddy." She said as she started crying.
"I know sweetie' Tony said softly. 'He'll be here soon and your mommy is on her way too."
She just kept crying. Tony and Gibbs looked at each other both feeling a little powerless.
"Hey' Tony said soothingly 'I have a little girl your age and her favorite thing to do is name her stuffies when I give them to her. What do you think you want to name your bear?" Tony asked her as the little girl slowly stopped crying.
"I don't know." She said.
"That's ok' Tony said 'you think about it. And you can tell me when you pick the perfect name ok."
"Ok.' She said. 'Are my friends, ok?" she asked suddenly.
Tony and Gibbs looked at each other and saw this as their opportunity.
"They're fine. They are in the next two rooms." Gibbs said.
"Mia's not." She said in a quiet voice.
"What happened to Mia?" Gibbs asked.
"The man killed her."
"How do you know?" Gibbs asked.
"He did it in front of us. It was so scary. Then he left and he was gone for a really long time. When he came back, he didn't have Mia with him. Then he gave Jade and Ivette more medicine and they went to sleep. I thought he was going to give me some too, but he didn't. Then he said it was my turn.' She said as she started crying. 'He hurt me."
"It's ok sweetheart.' Gibbs said as he gently stroked her hand. 'You don't have to tell us."
"Can you tell us anything else?" Tony asked.
She nodded. "Mia knew him and was helping him. I fell asleep watching the movies at Mia's house and when I woke up, we were all in a van and Mia was sitting in the front seat and said we shouldn't be scared and that we were ok. Stuff like that."
"Ok thank you Julia. You get some rest now ok." Gibbs said as he and Tony stood to leave.
Julia started to cry and clung on to Tony. "Don't leave." She said quietly.
"I'll tell you what.' Tony said. "I'll stay with you until your mommy gets here. But then I have to go back to work. But if you need me, you tell Dr. Newman and I'll come running back ok."
She nodded her head and settled down as Gibbs headed out.
Olivia and Elliot were waiting in Jade's room for her to wake up.
"This is actually really sweet." Olivia said as she looked at the teddy bear in her hand.
"You know it really is. You know I think we should keep a handful in our car just in case we catch a case with a kid." Elliot said.
"Good idea." Olivia said.
Before Elliot could respond Jade started to stir.
"Where am I?" she asked as she looked around the room and saw Elliot and Olivia. "Who are you?" she asked.
"Hey sweetie. You're in the hospital. I'm Olivia and this is Elliot. We're detectives and we rescued you from the warehouse. We have a little something for you.' Olivia said as he held up the teddy bear. Jade immediately reached for the teddy bear and hugged it close.
"Can we talk about what happened?" Elliot asked.
Jade nodded.
"Do you remember anything?" Olivia asked.
"I don't remember much. He kept giving me medicine and I couldn't keep my eyes open. I think he killed Mia because he left with her and she never came back but its all fuzzy." She said.
"Anything else maybe before you were in the warehouse?" Elliot asked.
"It was weird. We were at Mia's house and we were going to watch movies. Mia went to get us snacks and I went to help her. She unlocked the front door and then when that man come into the house, he grabbed me, and she grabbed Ivette like they were working together. It got fuzzy after that."
"One more question. Did he touch you?" Olivia asked.
She hugged her bear tight, but she shook her head no.
"Are my friends, ok?" She asked.
"They're fine. They are in the next rooms. You can see them later ok. But for now, just kept some rest." Olivia said.
Jade nodded and curled up and closed her eyes.
McGee and Ziva waited in Ivette's room for her to wake up.
"What happened to Williams?" McGee asked.
"He's dead." Ziva said matter of factly.
"You or Gibbs."
"Me and Olivia."
"Bastard never stood a chance." McGee said.
Ziva smirked but before she could answer their attention was diverted when Ivette started to stir. Ivette looked around the room and saw McGee and Ziva in her room.
"Where am I? Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm Special Agent McGee and this is Agent David. You're in the hospital. We rescued you from the warehouse. This is for you." He said gently as he set the bear down on the bed next to her.
She reached out and hugged the bear.
"Can we talk about what happened?" Ziva asked.
She nodded her head.
"Ok just tell us what you remember." McGee said.
"I remember being at Mia's house and watching movies. Julia fell asleep and I was starting to fall asleep and then there was a man in the house. He was taking Jade and Mia was taking me. Then they threw us in a van and drove us to the warehouse. He did horrible things to Mia and then I don't remember much after that."
"One more question. Did he touch you?" Ziva asked.
"No." she said with a shake of her head.
"Ok get some rest. You've been very helpful." McGee said as they left her room.
The team meet in the lobby after they finished talking to the girls.
"Where's Tony?" McGee asked as he realized they were leaving without him.
"He's still with Julia." Gibbs answered.
"Why?" McGee asked.
"She's scared and he makes her feel safe. As soon as her mother is here, he's coming back to the office." Gibbs said.
"Is that normal? And why is it just her?" Ziva asked Olivia and Elliot as they walked to the car.
"Yes, it is normal. Victims tend to form close bonds to their first rescuers since Tony is the who rescued her, he's the one who makes her feel safe. As to why its just her she is the youngest and she was the only one raped. We asked Jade she said she wasn't touched." Olivia said.
"Ivette said the same thing." Ziva said.
"So, he only raped the oldest one and the youngest one. That doesn't make sense." McGee said. As they started to get into the car.
"You're right.' Elliot said. 'So why did he only rape those two?"
"Let's get back to NCIS and figure it all out." Gibbs said.
"So, all the girls told us the same thing. Mia was working with Williams." Gibbs said as he sat at his desk.
"That's right." McGee said.
"The thing that doesn't make any sense is the rape." Elliot said.
"We need to find a connection between Mia and Ben." Gibbs said.
"We've been looking we can't find one." McGee said.
"Yes, we can." Abby said as she burst into the bull pin.
"Whatcha got Abs?" Gibbs asked.
McGee tossed her the clicker.
"Thanks McGee.' She said as she clicked the plasma showed emails and instant messages. 'I did some digging on our victim's laptop and I believe she was groomed by our perp."
"How long Abs?"
"Messages go back at least a year but messages about this didn't start until about six months ago."
"That's when he bought the warehouse." McGee said.
"I also think I can answer your question as to why only two of them were raped." Abby said.
"How?" Tony asked.
"When I went through Ben's laptop, I found his manifesto where he planned this. He needed Mia to get the younger girls. They were his target all along. His plan was to torture the youngest one the longest before he killed them all." Abby said.
"So, we got there in time and saved them.' McGee said. 'But why do I feel like it means nothing."
"Cause one girl is dead and three others will never be the same." Elliot said.
"You guys have a lot of stuff if you can deal with this every day." McGee said.
"Well why don't we close this case so you guys can get back to New York and continue your good work." Gibbs said.
"Thank you, Gibbs. If you need anything let us know." Elliot said as he shook hands with Gibbs and the rest of the team.
"Thank you for letting us help you find the girls." Olivia said as she shook hands with the team.
When she got to Ziva, Ziva pulled her close "Nice shooting. Thanks for having my back."
"Anytime." Olivia said with a smile.
Elliot and Olivia waved to the team and made their way to the elevator.
"When are the fathers in?" Gibbs asked.
"Day after tomorrow.' Tony said, 'their mothers are with them now."
"Well, I figured that DiNozzo since your sitting here and not at the hospital."
"Fair enough boss. But I came with gifts or doctor's reports Jade and Ivette were not touched. And I don't want to read Julia's."
"Alright thank you Tony. It's been a long day you guys go home get some rest." Gibbs said to his team.
"Night Boss." McGee said as he grabbed his gear.
"Night Gibbs." Ziva said.
"See you tomorrow Gibbs." Tony said.
"No, you won't." Gibbs said with a smile.
Tony smiled when he remembered. "Oh, right well then we'll see you later when we pick up Tali. Ziva, shall we get a drink since we have a babysitter?"
"Sure Tony." Ziva said with a smile as she took Tony's arm.
Gibbs smiled at the antics of his team before he too left for the night to pick up his granddaughter. Ever since Tony and Ziva had become parents Gibbs had become a grandpa to the baby. Even watching her so Tony and Ziva could have a date.
The next morning Gibbs took his report to Vance to let him know that they closed the case.
"Gibbs I got Dr. Mallard's report the body had six bullet wounds."
"Yes?"
"Ziva shot him she never misses why six and one in the shorts?"
"Sir he was using a little girl as a human shield. She had to adjust her aim to not hit her or me. So, she hit him once in the shorts he deserved it. He ruined a little girl's life."
"Gibbs, I read the reports, I know what he did. I agree with you he deserved it. No ones in trouble. Had it been me all six shots would have been to the groin."
Both men chuckled at that.
"But nice work Gibbs."
"Thanks Leon." Gibbs said as he left the office.
The next day Gibbs and Tony went to the hospital to pick up the girls and their mothers. When they got back the NCIS Gibbs lead the moms up to the conference room while Tony took the girls to meet Abby and Ducky. Gibbs waited at his desk for the fathers to arrive which happened a few minutes later with McGee in tow.
"Boss." He said to get Gibbs's attention. "Gentlemen this is my boss Special Agent Gibbs."
"Agent Gibbs where are our daughters?" Captain Littleton asked.
"They're here and they're safe."
"We need to be with our girls." Captain Bennett said.
"I understand that Captain, but we need to talk first." Gibbs said.
"Yes Sir." they said together.
"Please follow Agent McGee up to the conference room. Commander Gage if you could wait a minute."
"Of course."
"I just wanted to give you my condolences about your daughter. I'm sorry we couldn't save her."
"You did all you could, and you saved the others." Commander Gage said.
Gibbs was ready to tell him about Mia's involvement, but one look told him otherwise.
"I just needed to tell you that Mia's body is in the custody of the New York Medical Examiner I'll get an agent to take you down to see Dr. Mallard and he'll help you arrange to have the body brought here." Gibbs said.
"Thank you."
Gibbs led Commander Gage to an area where he could wait for one of the agents to take him down to see Ducky. Then Gibbs made his way to the conference room.
"Hello everyone." Gibbs said as he walked into the conference room and was greeted by the three families waiting for him.
"Agent Gibbs who did this?" Captain Littleton asked.
"Former Navy Commander Ben Williams. This was revenge for his dishonorable discharge four years ago."
"Is he in custody?" Captain Bennett asked.
"He's dead."
"Did he take his own life?" Commander Malo asked.
"No, we took him down."
"So, it's all over?" Captain Littleton asked.
"Yes, it is, just take care of your girls."
"Will do sir." Captain Bennett said.
As Gibbs lead the families back to the stairs, he looked down into the bull pin and saw Abby, Ducky and Tony there with the girls. The families made their way downstairs and when the girls saw their fathers they immediately jumped up and ran to them.
"DADDY!" the girls screamed in delight as they ran into their fathers' arms.
Their fathers held them tight, and Gibbs smiled at the happy reunion. He saw McGee and Ziva make their way back into the bull pin and Ziva settled next to Tony as he wrapped an arm around her. Gibbs headed down the stairs and made his way to his desk. He was surprised however when Julia wriggled out of her dad's arms and walked over to Tony. She had the teddy bear in her arms.
"Tony, I found the perfect name for my bear."
Tony knelt down so he was eye level with the little girl. "What did you name it?" he asked.
"I named him after you."
"Tony?"
"No' she said quietly 'Hero." She said as she hugged him, and he hugged her back.
Everyone had a tear in their eye watching the exchange between Tony and the little girl. She let go of Tony and went back to her dad and he picked her up and Gibbs watched as she gently rested her head on his shoulder with her teddy bear tucked under her arm. He flashed back to when Kelly was her age, and she did the same thing to him and he smiled.
