Roman blew out his breath as he walked from the car towards the front door. He was finally home after some hectic days on the road, and all he wanted was to wrap his arms around his wife Renette and hold her close while taking in the sweet scent from her gooseberry shampoo in her hair. It was a subtle smell but he loved it.

He opened the door and walked inside. A smell hit his nostrils and he paused for a second. A smile spread on his face. He knew exactly what she was cooking. He quickly kicked off his sneakers and hung up his jacket before hurrying to the kitchen.

"Welcome home, honey," she said.

He took her in for a second as she stood there stirring the pot. He always enjoyed seeing how her pale green eyes glistened when she smiled, and how only the front part of her light brown hair was pulled back and secured with a hair clip behind her head.

"Is that..." He started.
"Your favorite fall food," she said.
"It is!" He smiled widely. "Parsnip soup."

He walked over to her, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her. He held on to her and lifted her up to sit on the counter while she giggled into the kiss.

"I love you to much," he said.
"I love you too but I gotta stir the pot or the soup will burn," she said.

He kept his left arm around her while reaching his right arm across to the stove so he could stir the pot for her. Once again she giggled, and then placed her hands on his cheeks and leaned down for another kiss.

"I missed you, Roman," she said.
"I missed you too, Renette," he said. "I can't believe how lucky I am. You're amazing."

She giggled again and he smiled at the sound. He could never get tired of hearing those small giggles coming from her.

"Flutes should be ready now," she said.

She always served parsnip soup with warm flutes from the oven. There was no better way of returning home tonight to his favorite dish and the best woman on the planet.

"Since you made my favorite fall food, I'll make sure to get dessert tonight," he smirked.
"Roman!" She giggled.
"I bet I can eat a whole damn lot," he said.

He let his eyes wander down to her crotch for a second and she giggled again.

"Down, boy!" She said.
"You love it," he said.
"I do but we need to eat actual food first," she said.
"I know," he took a step back. "I'm just saying what you got to look forward to. I promise you'll be begging me to stop before the night is over."
