Chapter 32. Movie Night Pt. 2

POV Hermione

Hermione penned a message to Luna as she waited for Draco to get dressed. She hoped Luna would be able to offer some insight into what was bothering him. Since they returned home Sunday, he had been meticulously guarding his emotions, lest he exasperate her stress. It hurt her, feeling like he was inadvertently pushing her away.

Hopefully Luna has the answers.

He descended the stairs clad in plaid pajamas that matched hers. He looked quite domestic, and it made her smile and cheeks flush.

"Why'd you run off?" he said, crossing the room to her.

"I did not "run" off," she huffed turning her back to him to finish rolling up the letter, "Can you call your owl please?"

"Who is that for?"

"Luna." She said plainly, not wanting him to worry about what she was doing.

He walked to the window and waved his wand, his Eagle Owl appearing almost instantly. She grabbed a treat from the cabinet and tied the message to Brax's leg.

"Brax, could you deliver this to Luna for me?" he said, taking the treat from Hermione and offering it to the owl.

He chirped and took the treat, and Draco scratched the top of his head before allowing the owl to go on its way. Turning towards her, he wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face into the crook of her neck. She felt a warm tingle flow down her spine and spread across her abdomen. She closed her eyes, savoring the sensation of his touch.

"You smell delectable."

She chuckled, "Thank you?" she said trying to turn to face him, but he began planting kisses on her neck, trailing down to her shoulder.

Fuck. Don't stop.

"Draco… the other's will be here any minute."

Why did you say that?

He growled but relented, "Yes, yes, fine. I'll go get the pizza."

No. Wait. Stay. Kiss me some more.

Everyone arrived by 6pm, and the pizza was a particular hit was Theo who indulged in an entire pizza by himself.

"Granger, what kind of magic is this!" Theo shouted as they settled on the pillow mountain she had made in the living room, and she turned on The Lion King.

"It's not magic Theo, it's called animation. Artists who work for Disney draw thousands of pictures and stitch them together on a computer to make them move."

"That's not real. Muggles can do that?"

"Yes, Theo."

He didn't trust it, but he conceded, deciding to just enjoy the movie and snacks. Hermione snuggled up to Draco, laying her head on his chest. He would periodically feed her popcorn and run his hands through her curls. She could barely focus on the movie with the attention Draco was paying to her. She wanted to say "fuck it" to the movie and their friends and drag him up the stairs, rip off his clothes and make him ravish her.

"I like Scar, he's such a mood." She heard Theo say, and tried to hide her smile at the shock he was going to get later.

"I don't trust him." Fred chimed, lifting his head from Theo's chest, looking over at her.

She had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from giving away that something happens. Hopefully it wasn't a bad idea to pick a movie where a dad is murdered when the majority of the wizards in attendance had major daddy issues.

Well, too late to turn back now.

"RUN SIMBA! GET OUT OF THERE!" George shouted, startling her, "Get help Zazu!"

Hermione tried to hide her face as the stampede began, tears welling up in her eyes. She didn't want to give it away, but as Draco began to rub circles in her back, she had a feeling he knew she was upset.

"Oh thank Salazar, Scar's here." Pansy chimed, having been quiet up until this point.

"Yes! I was worried!" Theo added.

Long live the king.

"WHAT! SCAR PULL HIM UP!"

"DO SOMETHING!"

Everyone but her and Draco seemed to be voicing themselves at the turn of events. She looked up at him, who seemed only a little bothered by the unfolding plot. He smiled down at her before pulling her close and whispering into her ear, "I've read Hamlet, I understand the plot." He offered to her surprise.

"When did you read that?"

"While you were in the coma. It was in your belongings and I didn't want to leave to go get something else out of the library."

"You could have. I wouldn't have known… well, I might have but I only seemed to see the important events."

"I wasn't going to leave you under any circumstances Hermione."

"NOOOOO!" came a collective shout from the group and they looked up to see Mufasa drop from the cliff.

Hermione burst into laughter, gaining her glares from the others. She realized immediately she would have a new obsession with creating Disney trauma amongst her friends. She sat up and reached for the box of tissues on the table, passing them to Pansy who immediately wiped her eyes.

"This movie is fucked up Granger, what the hell?"

"It's a favorite of mine. My parents to me to the cinema to see it when it came out."

She rolled her eyes before settling back down beside George. The rest of the movie was spent in near silence, minus the few times the music would perk them up. At the end Theo stood and clapped dramatically, tears pouring down his face, she could not understand how he and Draco had become such close friends.

Prying herself from Draco's side, Hermione wandered to the kitchen to grab a bottle of Tequila she had Leaf pick up and the Life board game that was on the counter, "Alright, I've had to adjust the game to accommodate for 6 people, but it should be fine."

She explained the rules and everyone placed their cars in the designated spots. Hermione, Draco and Theo had chosen to go the University route while Fred, George and Pansy went straight into careers, none of which surprised Hermione in the slightest. It took a couple turns to get into the groove but soon everyone was laughing and drinking and teasing each other over the jobs the got. Hermione was the first to land on the "Get Married" spot. Draco handed her a blue peg, his eyes full of mirth at the implication that the peg represented him. She held eye contact as she reached into the box and pulled out, instead, a pink pig and stuck it into the slot beside her own, giving him a wink as the rest of the group burst into laughter. On the surface he appeared unbothered, but Hermione knew he was silently pouting over her rejecting his peg.

Well if he'd give me a "peg", maybe I would have married his peg.

The game progressed, Draco being the only one with a blue and pink pair of pegs in the car. A part of her mind felt bad for poking fun at his expense, but how could she not when he looked the way he did.

Needs to be brought down a "peg" or two. He's too handsome.

Hermione spun the wheel, landing on 5. She moved her car and landed on twins. First babies too it seemed. She grabbed 2 pink pegs from the box when she felt a pair of molten silver eyes on her. She twisted her gaze up to him finding, not mirth, not this time, but instead desire. She suddenly felt a heat rising to her cheeks, the image of Draco holding 2 baby girls of their own in his arms too much for her to handle. Someone from the group cleared their throat.

"Hey move it along, lovebirds, the rest of us are waiting." Pansy huffed. George placed his arm around her shoulder for comfort, Fred doing the same to Theo.

"Oh enough Pans, do you have somewhere important to be?" Draco asked pointedly.

"Yes actually. Home, in bed, with a naked wizard worshiping my body, thank you."

Hermione's eyes dropped to the floor at that. The fact that George and Pansy were sleeping together already just made her more green. How long would Draco hold back? She struggled with panic attacks during intimacy but she thought she had made it clear to him that she wanted to keep trying.

You can't get over things if you just ignore them.

Suddenly, overwhelmed, she shot to her feet and made her way up the stairs to her room. Knowing Draco would follow her, she entered her ensuite and warded the door behind her. She just wanted a minute to breathe without him hovering to make sure she was okay, because the truth was that she wasn't. She loved Draco, she had realized that a while ago, and she wanted to believe he loved her too.

No… he does… I think… that's the problem. He's being too loving… too careful. I want passion! I want what we had at the Yule Ball…

She could feel Draco attempting to break the wards. He'd never get in, she was certain; after a year on the run, hiding from snatchers, she had perfected her wards in a way many others had not needed to. So, he could try all he wanted, but he would never get in unless she allowed him to.

I think I'll have a bath.

She undressed, turned on the tap, and pulled her hair up into a bun. Steam began to fill the room as she stepped into the scalding water. She hissed out a breath, her skin reddening as she adjusted to the temperature. She relished the feeling, letting it wash over her, cleansing the anxiety from her body.

Her mind drifted to that day in December when Draco first asked her to dance. He had looked so handsome in his black dress robes. She thought about the moment they kissed, the explosive heat that erupted from her chest, fusing all the broken pieces of her that she never thought would heal. Her hand slipped below the water, running along her thigh, and her thoughts shifted to the first day they came home, her, right where she was now, Draco in the shower. She let out a breathy moan as her fingers came into contact with her center and began gently rubbing small circles around her clit. Needing a better angle, she tossed her leg over the side of the tub and increased the pressure. She wanted Draco's hands to be the ones touching her; they were soft, yet strong, and he somehow knew her body as if it was his own. She could feel him still working at the wards and it made her buzz with excitement. Maybe she should open the door, let him in, let him find her getting off at the sight of him. Her breathing became labored, her orgasm near, and she flicked her wand towards the door, allowing the wards to drop. The door burst open as the waves of pleasure rolled through her, and her eyes connected with his.

That's right, you could be in here with me, you big fool.
