(Emerald Forest)
Flying over the forest is a small black bird who was soaring lazily over the forest safe away from any Grimm that would tear it apart,….. if only it was a little to the left Smack.
"Birdie no!" Ruby cried as she accidentally crashed into a bird that she swore wasn't there before, she then heard an excited holler as she watched Luffy fly by her and falling into the trees before flying out again laughing like he was having fun.
She noticed she was slowing down so Ruby unsheathed her Crescent Rose in gun form and fires a few in front of her slowing down her momentum and clearing a path for her and once she cleared the trees enough did she flip switching Crescent Rose to scythe mode that she used to hook on the cleared branch which she used to flip through her momentum until it was manageable then unhooking herself and flip herself down branch by branch.
While Ruby jumped from branch to branch, she looks up as she saw Weiss with a twirl lands on a glowing platform and launching herself deeper into the forest.
A slashing sound got her attention as she looks back and sees Zoro cutting his way through the forest as he falls creating a clear path of cut trees behind him as he kept a calm look about him.
She also notice a green blur fall ahead of her before spiraling down the tree.
She then hears some explosions overhead and notice her sister also hollering using her gauntlets as boosters "Yang!" Ruby with a destination in mind, made her way down.
As Pyrrha flew down she braced herself with her shield in front and crashed through the tree, once she rolls back on to her feet she unsheathed Miló shifting it into rifle mode where she used the scope to scout out her surrounding as she looks around to find a safe place to the ground did she notice a flailing Jaune tumbling in the air, with practice ease she shift Miló into its javelin form and with perfect form she pulled the trigger as she threw the spear using the recoil of the gun barrel and launching Miló into the woods, after a second of silencethunk!"Thank you!" she heard Jaune cry out getting her to sigh.
"I'm sorry!" Pyrrha shouts back before making her way down.
(Over the trees)
Luffy laughs as he swings and launch himself from tree to tree until his hand slipped on one branch "Whoops! WOAAAAaaah!" Luffy screams as he fell.
(Somewhere below)
"Noooo! Leave me alone!" The Orange haired girl scream as she was chased by a group of angry Bear like Grimms known as Ursais "Go away don't follow me!" the girl cried as she shouts behind her.
"Don't be so cruel! I don't want to die!" Ussop cries as he ran behind her trying to catch up "Plus it was your fault we're being chased!".
"Like hell it is! If it was anyone's fault it's yours!" The girl shouts back remembering how they got in this predicament.
(A few minutes before.)
The orange haired girl concentrate as she felt the atmosphere around her until she felt a sudden updraft that is going to appear to her right 'I can use that.' she nods as she pulls of one of her rod off the staff and points to her left "Gust sword!" the rod produce a green bubble that suddenly burst veering the girl to the right, and like she predicted a sudden updraft slowed her down giving her ample time to pull out her other rod and sheathing the other, with two rods in hand she twirl both producing hundred of blue and red bubbles to converge together forming a giant cloud 'Okay now I need to time this right.' and with a determined look she sheathed her rods back and waited for her chance and when she was about to hit the cloud did she thrust her hands out causing the cloud to compact into a bubble "Milky ball!" she shouted before landing on it "Good it worked-kya!?" the girl smiled before it popped causing her to fall.
It was thanks to some branches did she not end up dead on the ground, though it still hurts so with a wince she manage to stand up before freezing as she found herself behind some bush and in front of her is a group of Ursais who were sleeping in front of her, with a hand over her mouth to stop herself from making any noise as she tries to sneak away "aaaaaAAAAH!" both her and the Ursais looked up to see Ussop falling down and landing on one of the Ursa.
Ussop with his eyes shut braced himself for the landing, holding his sling shot like it will save him Shink! Ussop heard something get stabbed as he landed on something soft, after a pause Ussop crack open one eye to see his sling shot accidentally extended to staff mode as he landed which is buried into an Ursa's neck that is disappearing "…..I killed one?" he said before he reared his head in laughter "Hahahaha! That's right no one messes with Ussop the great, I've killed hundreds no thousands of Grimms this is nothing! Hahahaha" a couple of growls got him to stop and looks around to find himself surrounded "Hehehe, uh It was an accident?" Ussop said sheepishly getting the Grimms to stalks closer.
While Ussop shakes in fear the Orange haired girl gave the poor boy her condolences as she made her way out of here "What's that over there!" the girl stops, turned and freeze to see the Ursais turned to look at her with Ussop looking surprised as he points at her "There really was someone there….".
There was a pause as the Grimm now turned to stalk up to the girl who gave the long nose teen a glare as she pulled out her rods and connect it into it's staff form as she got ready to get herself out "Exploding star!" one of the Ursais head was hit by an explosion getting the Grimms to look back "You won't hurt her without killing me first! But you wont even touch me!" Ussop taunts out shivering a bit causing the Grimms lunge at the screaming long nose teen who then pops like a balloon leading to them to be tangled in themselves.
"Good, got them distracted now we have to go!" Ussop says as he grabs her arm and they both ran "Hehehe! We got away!" Roar! both teens look back at seeing the Grimm Ursais stampeding towards them "We didn't got away!" Ussop zoomed off along with the girl now a little pissed at the fleeing long nose idiot.
(Present time)
Ussop rubbed his head sheepishly "Eh well when you put it that way…..Oops." he then tapped his head with his knuckle with his tongue out.
"Don't do that, it's creepy.".
"SO CRUEL!".
"aaaaaaaaaaaaa-" The girl noticed a faint sound as she looks around confused.
"What are you doing?" Ussop asked.
The girl looked to Ussop confused "You didn't hear that?"
"Hear what?-" "aaaaaaaaa-" "Hey wait what's that?" Ussop looked around but noticed the Grimms are getting closer "Aaaah! They're catching up!".
The girl also noticed starts to run harder but Ussop zooming off far ahead much to her shock 'How much of coward you have to be before running ahead of everyone else!' she thought but notice a shadow over her looking back as a Grimm was just inches from her maw wide open ready to rip her head off, as her life flash before her eyes she saw a woman with red hair smiles back at her and a tanned skinned teen with light blue hair waved at her as she hears a pinwheel being blown by the wind 'I'm sorry.' the girl closed her eyes "aaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAH!"CRASH! A blast of wind and dirt flew into her face causing her to cover it.
"Ah! That surprised me." a voice is heard as the figure picked themselves up inside the cloud of dust he then seem to be missing something as he starts to look around "Mmh? Where is it? Where's my hat!?" as she heard him fret about a hat a sudden feeling on her leg shook her back to reality looking down to see a straw hat as she picked it up the cloud of dust seems to clear up "Oh there it is! Thanks for finding it!" she looks up as she watched a lanky teen with a scar under his left eye smiles at her as he took his hat back "I was afraid I lost it shishishi!".
Luffy placed his hat back in it's rightful place before noticing where he landed and the Grimm around him "Wow, this looks really bad, huh?" he laughed a bit seeming not at all bothered by the danger around him.
(Beacons Initiation! Survive in the Emerald forest!)
"How can you laugh at this situation?" the girl wonders as she watched the teen kept laughing before she gave a devious look "It looks like you got this so I'll leave it to you!" the girl said as she ran off.
Luffy just stared for a moment "What's up with her?" Growl Luffy looked back to the Grimms looking hungrily at him "Well whatever." Luffy smiles as he wound his arm a little excited to let loose
The Grimms starts to charge at him with Luffy chuckling as he hops over one of them and as he flips he perform an axe kick on another Grimms head cratering it knocking it for a loop, an Ursa tried to slash at Luffy who side step the claw before performing a punch into the Ursa's face launching it into the others knocking over some of them while others ran around them, Luffy smiles before hearing a growl behind him which gave him an idea so as the Grimm lunge ready to chomp down on Luffy.
As the Ursa tries chomp down on him, Luffy jumped over it's head as it bites where he was "Hehehe Gomu Gomu no" Luffy then stretched his arms around the Grimms neck and his legs wrapped around it's abdomen "Rodeo!" the Grimm starts to thrash about trying to knock Luffy off but Luffy kept himself on it's back as he steered the rampaging Grimm to the other Ursais where it manage to blindly kill many of them until a larger Grimm smacking it away and into a couple of trees killing the Ursa "What hit me?" Luffy pushed the tree off him as he saw a large Ursa with it's back covered in bone spikes and bone plates growing around its body "Wow your pretty big huh?" Luffy smiles as he cracks his fingers in anticipation.
(Somewhere else in the forest)
Ruby finally reached the ground and starts to run in what she thinks her sister would land "Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang! Gotta find-" she stops and starts to shout "YANG! YAAAAANG!" she was met with crows cawing around her.
"Oh, this is bad, this is really bad... What if I can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune." she says as she imagine a chibi Jaune sliding next to a Chibi Ruby who waved at each other "He's nice. He's funny!...I don't think he's very good in a fight, though." the Chibi Jaune screams as he ran off being chased by imaginary Beowolves leaving Chibi Ruby to slump.
Chibi Ruby then perks up "Ooh! What about Blake?! So mysterious, so calm... Plus she likes books!" A Chibi Blake lands next to Chibi Ruby who looked awed while Chibi Blake pulled out a book and starts reading "Then again, I'm not sure I'd be able to hold a conversation with her…" She imagine Chibi Ruby feeling uncomfortable as she doesn't know what to say while Chibi Blake ignored her before she just slides off somewhere.
"Okay maybe someone else…. What about Ussop?" She imagine Chibi Ussop marching proudly to Chibi Ruby "But he doesn't seem all that impressive…" just like that the Chibi Ussop tripped landing on his face and then slides back to where he came from leaving Chibi Ruby to look back seeing nothing then shrugs.
Chibi Ruby starts to look around before notice something further away "How about Zoro he seems reliable!" Chibi Ruby waves at a Chibi Zoro trying to get his attention "But from what Yang and Luffy said he would probably get us lost…" Chibi Zoro starts to wonder off much to Chibi Ruby's shock.
Chibi Ruby slumps before notice something swing by "Oh what about Luffy! He's fun! He's strong! He's also dependable!" Chibi Ruby waves to Chibi Luffy who noticed her then lands next to her "And with his stretchy power we can do awesome things in this forest!" Chibi Ruby points up with Chibi Luffy nodding who then wrapped his around her waist getting Chibi Ruby to blush before they slung off destroying Ruby's imaginary bubble causing her to blush "Oh yeah he has to grab me to- Stop! Stop! Stop thinking about Luffy like that!" Ruby blush as she runs off.
As Ruby shakes off her blush she starts to list off who she knew "Okay... Who else do I know in this school? There's Yang, Luffy, Jaune, Blake, Zoro, Ussop aaaand…" as she tries to remember who else a rustle got her to stop and like slow motion the rustling bush was pushed aside to show…
Weiss was not having a great time first of all that crow came out of nowhere and now she found herself landing in this thicket of bushes she even felt something prick her, lets just say Weiss isn't happy as Weiss finally found her way out of the bushes did her pale blue eyes met a pair of wide innocent silver eyes, as both Ruby and Weiss stared at each other, before Ruby could say anything Weiss turned around and walked back into the bush pretending she never made eye contact with Ruby who tries to stop her "Wait! Where are you going?!" she slumps as she kicks the ground dejectedly "We're supposed to be teammates…".
Weiss on the other hand back in the thicket grunting a bit but at least better than getting stuck with that clumsy socially inept little girl "Ow! Oh come on! You gotta, okay a little…. Nope, man it's really in there….." Weiss stared at a struggling Jaune who is stuck to a tree and was staring awkwardly at her "So... uh, you come here often?" Jaune winced at what he said while Weiss gave him a glare and walked back "Hey wait!...dang it.".
(Back with Ruby)
A still forlorn Ruby was sitting on the ground drawing circles with a stick she just found, until Weiss marched out of the bush and grabs a surprised Ruby by the hood and starts dragging her "By no means does this makes us friends!" "-You came back!" Ruby cries happily while Weiss sighs feeling like she was developing a migraine.
(Back with Jaune)
"Wait come back!" Jaune cried out as he watched Weiss dragging Ruby away from him "Who's gonna get me down from here!?" Jaune just slump from where he hung until he hears some footsteps below him.
"Jaune?" Jaune looks down to see Pyrrha who looks up at the dangling teen "Do you... have any spots left on your team?".
Jaune just crossed his arms "Ha ha, very funny." Jaune says but he smiles down at Pyrrha who smiles back "Uh, can you help me down I'm starting lose feelings in my legs.".
"Oh! Right I'm sorry!" Pyrrha hurried over to help Jaune down.
(With Ussop)
After running like his life depends on it Ussop leaned against a tree trying to catch his breath "Looks like…we ….lost them…" Ussop panted but when he was met with nothing did he look back "….Oh god….. I left he-" Bonk! "-You left me behind you jerk!".
While Ussop cradle his head from the hit, the Girl shouldered her staff as she glares at Ussop panting a bit as she ran to catch up "You really got a lot of nerve leaving me behind." she says before sighing sadly "I can't believe we are partners I can't believe how unlucky I could be." she laments as she covers her face like she was crying.
"If anyone wants to cry it should be me." Ussop mumbled a bit "-What was that?" "Nothing!" Ussop said quickly a little scared of her.
The girl sighs as she looks to Ussop feeling tired already "Come on, since we're stuck with each other so we might as well head to the ruins." she says as she walks off hoping she might find someone who can protect her.
"So I know we didn't have time before but since we are going to be stuck with each other for the next four years." Ussop says getting a sigh from the girl "I'm Ussop the future greatest Huntsmen in the world." Ussop boast as he introduce himself.
The girl just stared at him with a deadpanned look "Nami." she said plainly as they made their way through, though Nami did glance back where they ran from 'He should be fine, if he's gonna be a Huntsman than that wouldn't be a problem.' Nami hurried off as she gave a nervous look ahead.
(Somewhere deep in the forest)
"Helloooooooo?" Yang calls out as she wanders around "Is anyone out there? Helloooo? I'm getting bored here!" she kept wandering until a rustling got her to turn around "Is someone there? Ruby, is that you?" she asked as she crept closer but stops as a dark figure starts to raise up from the bushes.
Yang just steps back as she looks up at a growling Ursa sneering down at the human "Nope." Yang answers herself popping her p before hopping back as the Ursa smashing it's claws on where Yang was, Yang unfolds her bracelet into gauntlets that covers her hands and forearms forming arm guards and also revealing red shells around her wrist guard and into the gauntlet, this is her Shotguntlet Ember Celica, she pumped her arms cocking Ember Celica before rolling under another Ursa that tried to lunge at her, seeing that same Grimm charging back at her Yang rears back hearing her weapon primed Yang smiles as she delivers a straight right into the Grimms stomach and with a bang launch the beast off.
The other Grimm ran past it's falling Ursa and with a roar lunge in trying to crush the Blonde Brawler, Yang matched it's charge as she delivers an explosive uppercut to the Grimms chin launching it in the air before firing the other Gauntlet to deliver a powerful elbow into the Grimms neck causing it to tumble on the ground.
"You guys wouldn't happen to have seen a girl in a red hood, would you?" Yang asked as the Grimms got back on its feet growling angrily at her "You could just say "no"." Yang shrugs as one Ursa stood up and charged at Yang rearing its claws and swiping at her causing Yang to lean from the first before back flipping from the second causing Yang to laugh a bit "Geeeez, you two couldn't hit the broad side of a ba…" Yang taunts until she saw a single strand of golden hair fall in front of her causing the world to slow around her 'Did that Ursa cut my hair….Did that MONSTER cut MY HAIR.' Yang looks down as her hair cover her eyes "You…" she muttered as the Grimms looked confused at the sudden powerful emotion "YOU MONSTERS!" Yang shouts as her lilac eyes glowed red and her hair flairs up in a fire like manner, with a furious eyes she launched herself at one of the Ursa dealing punches after punches all while shouting out in fury "Ora,ora,ora,ora,ora,ora,ora ORA!" "Gold Rush!" she let the Grimm fly abit as she rears back her final punch she shouts out as she throws her last punch "VICIOUS DRAGON!" her punch lands causing the Grimm to explode destroying the nearby trees and leaving a trail of flames in front of her.
She panted angrily before looking at the other Grimm who raised up on it's hind legs roaring at her "What! You want some, too?!" Yang challenged getting the Grimm to roar again until it froze, Yang looked confused before stepping back as the Grimm fell forward revealing a black sickle like weapon embedded in it's neck.
She also notice a ribbon connecting with the sickle which was pulled back and into Blake's hands she gave Yang a quirked brow look before smirking a bit.
Yang finally calmed down as her eyes turned back to her lilac color as she smirks back "I could've taken him." she says getting Blake to chuckle.
"Sure." Blake replied smiling getting Yang to chuckle too.
(Meanwhile in the forest)
It's been a while since Weiss stopped dragging her by the hood so she's been following Weiss who kept stomping ahead "What's the hurry?" Ruby asked as she hurried up to her.
Weiss gave Ruby a stern look "I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow!" Weiss says as she trudged forward "I swear, if I get a bad grade because of your-" Whoosh! "What the!?" Weiss noticed Ruby appearing in front of her giving her a puppy like smile.
"I'm not slow, see? You don't have to worry about me!" Ruby says as she looks a little proud of herself.
Weiss a little astonish looks back "When did-" "Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters!" Ruby cut her off getting Weiss to give her a crossed armed look.
Ruby then puts her arms around Weiss shoulder "You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss, and after it's all over, you're going to be like, "Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool…" Ruby says getting Weiss to roll her eyes not that Ruby saw it "and I wanna be her friend!"" Ruby finishes as she disappears in shower of rose petals much to Weiss annoyance.
After waving the petals away Weiss looked around as rustling sounds was heard around her "You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time!" Weiss called out thinking the rustling was Ruby being excited, but after hearing nothing Weiss starts to look concern "Ruby?" she looked around feeling a little scared as the rustling got more intense "Ruby…?" she then notice red eyes starts to poke out from the bushes getting her to unsheathe her sword which is a silver gray rapier like weapon with the hilt possessing four prongs that encase the revolver-like chamber around the ricasso, the chamber has six slots holding six different Dust vials red, cyan, violet, white, yellow and blue. This is Weiss's personal weapon of choice Myrtenaster.
"RUBY!"Weiss cried out as she kept her Myrtenaster out as she watch as an entire pack of Beowolves creeps out of the woods "Of course when the Dolt leaves I have to handle the mess…" Weiss grumbled as she jumps back from one of the Beowolves tries slash at her, with Myrtenaster in her left hand she deflect another swipe causing her to land in the middle of the circling Grimms "I am sooo not gonna forgive her for this." she glowered.
(few minutes in another part of the Forest)
Zoro just wondered around the forest and nothing was happening, so much so that Zoro is tempted to just find a nice tree and take a nap "Tch! Where are those damn Grimms?" he grumbled as he looked down at his swords "I thought this forest would be the perfect place to test these swords." Zoro sighed as he walked.
After another few minutes that felt like hours for him did he growl in frustration "Where are they." a rustle got his attention as he grabs Wado's saya with an excited smile only to drop it when Ruby rush out in a burst of petals "What the, Ruby?" Ruby was also surprised to seeing Zoro who relaxed.
"Hi Zoro!" Zoro just crossed his arms with his arms crossed as Ruby smiled happily.
"So are we partners now?" Zoro asked.
Ruby shakes her head "Nope, sorry, already got a partner, but I'm still happy to see you!" Ruby says before hearing a shrill cry getting her to look back "Speaking about partner that might be her…".
Zoro just gave her a look "Did you leave your partner in the middle of the forest?" he asked as he got ready.
Ruby just waved him off "She's fine…." Ruby says but still a little worried about her partner.
"That is suppose to be full of Grimm." Zoro narrowed his eyes as he can feel the blood lust converging to a single spot.
Ruby didn't say anything before rushing back leaving a surprised Zoro who sighed as he follows after her or more specifically following the blood lust cause it's easier to track than someone getting him lost.
(With Weiss.)
Weiss tries to keep her distance from the Grimms as she got in her stance she narrowed her eyes 'Remember your training, Weiss. Head up, shoulders back, right foot forward- not that forward!' Weiss corrects her stance before pulling her foot back to it's proper place as she mentally reprimand herself 'Slow your breathing, wait for the right time to strike, and..' she focused as she looked at the surrounding Beowolves as she cycles her revolver for a fire Dust, she then noticed one Grimm getting impatient and pounced her "NOW!" she pushed herself toward the Grimm rearing Myrtenaster as the blade starts to glow red "Red Crest" Weiss ready to slash the young Beowolf "Flammendes Schw-""Gotcha!" suddenly Ruby burst in and behead the Grimm.
Weiss gasp as she forced her attack away from her partner almost hitting her "Woah!?" Ruby yelped as a wave of fire flew past her and hitting a tree setting it on fire, Ruby looked back at Weiss like she tried to kill her "Hey, watch it!" Ruby shouts out at almost getting hit.
"Excuse me!?" Weiss looked offended as she gave Ruby a glare "You attacked out of turn! I could have killed you!" Weiss says as she point at Ruby accusingly.
Ruby scoffs as she pushed her finger aside "You'll have to try a lot harder than that." she says as she readies Crescent Rose for the new targets before noticing a black shadows lunging behind Weiss getting her to panic "Look out!" Ruby aimed her weapon to what's behind Weiss.
Weiss turned ready to defend herself only to see three Beowolves all pouncing down on Weiss, with Weiss only managing to defend from one Grimm as the other climbed over the other to get to her Bang! Shin! Weiss eyes widen as one Beowolf head was blown off she believed came from Ruby's weapon as she remember that her weapon have a muzzle so it wasn't surprising, but it was the other Beowolves that got her attention as the Grimm she was holding off lost its claws and neck while the last Grimm was bisected through it's chest, Weiss didn't know what happened it was first a flash with one Grimm with half of its face gone flying back then a green blur flew by and now the Grimm are disintegrating in pieces leaving Weiss to stare confused.
"Oi, you okay Weiss?!" Weiss turned and saw one of the people she wanted to see before running into Ruby, Zoro flicked his sword showing he slashed the Grimms before shouldering it as he looked around him.
Ruby waves "Oh! Zoro you actually followed me!" looking genuinely surprised.
"Why do you honestly sound surprised by that!?" Zoro snapped confused on how surprised she sounded.
Weiss shook off her surprise before evaluating their surrounding noticing how outnumbered they are and also her little fire is now burning the forest 'Great.' she thought sarcastically, she grabs Ruby by the wrist "We gotta get out of here." she then dragged Ruby with her as the Grimms howl and got ready to chase them.
Ruby confused follows while Zoro stayed behind, Weiss noticing this turns back "Zoro what are you doing, we have to go!".
Zoro looked back smiling "Go on ahead, I'll hold them off!" Zoro says as he sheaths Wado Ichimonji and looked down to his new swords, he smiles as his eye glowed red for a second "This will be the perfect place to test these swords out.".
Though reluctant Weiss pulled Ruby as they ran off still looking back concerned.
Zoro smiles predatorily as the Grimms got close "Time to go all out!" Zoro charge forward to the Grimms as he pushed Yubashiri with his thumb "First Yubashiri!" he then slash through the Grimm up the middle and disappearing from the Grimms view he then lands behind them with his sword out "Light! This is a good sword!" The Grimms turns back at Zoro and as they could reared their claws a gush of black blood spurts out as they fall to the ground disintegrating.
Zoro moved on to the next Grimm as the fire burn around them making it difficult for the Beowolves to navigate as some were crushed from falling trees while others got cut off from the fires, while Zoro ran up to meet up with a pack of Grimms one of the Beowolf grab hold of a burning tree and threw it at Zoro, not even needing to look turns around and slashed the tree into four burning stumps that ends up knocking and burning the Grimms behind him "Oi oi, stop killing your own pack, I want a real fight here." he says as the Alpha the one who threw the tree growls at him.
Another Beowolf slightly larger than the others jumped out of the fire maw wide ready to snap up the Swordsman head, Zoro noticed this and pulls out Sandai Kitetsu and much to Zoro's surprise the Blade rushed into the Beowolf's mouth and out the back of it's neck killing the Grimm "What was that feeling in my hand just now?!" Zoro pulled the sword closer as he looked at his blade "What incredible sharpness! Sandai Kitetsu, a blade that can cut anything the wielder wants makes this a legend class blade. but this sword's own blood lust really shows it's a cursed sword, this one's going to be a real problem child.".
More growls got Zoro to look back as the Beowolf packs reformed and is now stalking the swordsman who smiles "This is a good time to whip it into shape." Zoro says his eyes glowing red as he charge at the Howling Grimms.
(With Ruby and Weiss)
Both girls panted as they made considerable distance from the now burning forest fire, Ruby looked back where they ran hearing a loud howl "What was that?!" Ruby shouts out as she turned to Weiss "That should've been easy!".
"Well perhaps if you had exercised even the slightest amount of caution with the placement of your strikes, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire!" Weiss gestured to the smoking forest "Than we wouldn't have to leave Zoro behind to slow the Beowolves." Weiss glares at Ruby who returns it.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Ruby crossed her arms "Are you saying it's my fault you have terrible aim?".
Weiss groans "I'm just surprised someone who talks so much would communicate so little during an encounter!" she glowers as she march off.
Ruby turns to follow Weiss "Well, I'm sorry you need my help to win a fight. I'm just fine on my own!" Weiss stopped then glaring back at Ruby.
"Well, congratulations on being the strongest child to sneak your way into Beacon. Bravo!" Weiss says sarcastically as she march away "You better be safe Zoro." Weiss whispers to herself.
Ruby just watched Weiss march off into the forest, feeling the frustration building up Ruby let out a scream as she unfolds Crescent Rose and cut down the tree next to her, panting from the scream she folds back her weapon and follow her "partner" 'What am I suppose to do?' she thought as she follows Weiss not seeing a large black feather falling behind her and landing on a stump she made.
(With Jaune and Pyrrha)
With Pyrrha in the lead with Miló and Akoúo̱ out she brush a bush aside as she survey their path in case of being ambushed with Jaune following behind bang! Bang! Jaune stopped as he turns to the sound "Did you hear that?".
Pyrrha turned as well "Gunfire." she frowned "It seems some of our comrades have encountered the enemy. We should keep moving." she turn back forward moving a low hanging branch out of her way.
Jaune still looking back nods "Yeah you're right." he follows but just as he turns forward Pyrrha let go of the branch Snap! smacking Jaune in the face as he gave a pained yelp as he fell back.
Hearing the strange sound Pyrrha looked back and was surprised to see a groaning Jaune holding his face "Jaune!?" Pyrrha rushed back and checked on him "Jaune! I'm so sorry!" she fretted as she try to see if he was okay.
Jaune gave a weak laugh "It's okay. Just a scratch!" Jaune waved her off as he stumbled back on his feet still seeing her worried look he gave a smile "I'm okay really!".
Pyrrha however kept looking worried especially at the bleeding cut above Jaune's left brow "Why didn't you activate your Aura?" she asked with a hint of suspicion.
Jaune tilts his head "Huh?".
"Your Aura." "Gesundheit." Pyrrha now looks worried as her suspicion is true "Jaune, do you... know what Aura is?" Pyrrha asked slowly so Jaune would understand the question.
Jaune not trying to look stupid scoffs "Psch! Of course I do!" he claimed while avoiding Pyrrha's eyes but when he peeked he saw her looking at him in concern "Do you know what Aura is?" he asked back.
'So he doesn't.' Pyrrha mentally sighs, as she smiles at him "Aura is the manifestation of our soul. It bears our burdens and shields our hearts. Have you ever felt you were being watched without knowing that someone was there?" she asked.
Jaune then feels self conscious now that she brought it up "Uh... yeah." he says as he looked around himself.
Pyrrha smiles "With practice, our Aura can be our shield. Everyone has it, even animals." she says as she walked around Jaune who kept his eyes on her.
"What about monster?" Jaune asked.
Pyrrha just walked forward "No." she frowns "The monsters we fight lack a soul. They are creatures of Grimm, the manifestation of anonymity." she then turns to Jaune "They are the darkness, and we are the light.".
"Right, that's why we fight them!" Jaune says getting a little enthused by the topic.
Pyrrha shook her head "It's not about why." she then taps Jaune's head "It's about knowing." she then continue walking around Jaune "Understanding dark and light helps us manifest our Aura. Everyone has some of both." she then stops in front of him "By baring your soul outward as a force, you can deflect harm. All of our tools and equipment are conduits for Aura. You protect yourself and your soul when fighting.".
Jaune pondered on what Pyrrha just told him before looking up in revelation "It's like a force field!" Jaune says leaning forward getting Pyrrha to lean back in surprise.
An amused chuckle escaped from her as she nods "Yes, if you want to look at it that way." she says smiling at him as she then walks up to Jaune who took a step back looking surprised, she then held Jaune's right cheek "Now, close your eyes and concentrate.".
Jaune fought back a blush at having a beautiful woman being so close to him nodded "Uhh... Okay." he closed his eyes trying to ignore the warm touch on his face.
Pyrrha smiles as she also closed hers, she then opens them as her eyes glows with energy to then slowly close and her red Aura starts to seep into Jaune 'For it is in passing that we achieve immortality.' Pyrrha opened her eyes now in the world of souls as she linked her Aura to Jaune's, who she can see is a dark silhouette with golden light outlining him 'Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death.' she mentally recites as she flew closer and then laid her hand on his chest 'I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee.' she finished but was blinded as the silhouette starts to shine causing the darkness to break apart as Jaune's soul opened it's eyes at Pyrrha who was then snapped back to the real world.
Pyrrha gasp as she almost dropped to her knees leaving a surprised Jaune "Pyrrha!?" Jaune was almost about to help her but she waved off his concern.
"It's all right." she smiles at Jaune "I used my Aura to unlock yours, but the energy that protects you now is your own." she then brush Jaune hair aside to see the scar on Jaune's brow healed itself up causing her to smile "And you have a lot of it." she stepped back as Jaune finally noticed he's shining.
As he marvel as his body is shining he can also feel like something in him is back where it belongs "Wow." he then smiles back at Pyrrha who smiles back.
(Somewhere else in the woods)
Roar! A giant white snake like Grimm crash into the ground kicking up dust and when the dust settled the Grimm start to disintegrate as Ren land in front of the dead Grimm, huffing tiredly Ren start to dust off his shoulders as he made his way to his green bladed SMG's after picking it up he heard a weird cry above him "Gruuah gruuuah!".
With a tired sigh he looks up to see Nora drop down and hang upside down in front of Ren smiling happily "Nora." he says getting her to tilt her head, he smiles "I still don't think that's what a sloth sounds like.".
Nora just smiles and poked Ren's nose "Boop!".
(Back with Zoro)
Zoro sighs as he sheathed his blades as the Grimms disintegrate around him many of them were sliced apart while others were crushed by the burning trees "Now how the hell am I gonna get out of here?" Zoro looked around to see the fire spread around him leaving no opening for him to run through.
While Zoro is scratching his head wondering how he would get out until he felt the ground rumble, Zoro confused placed his hands on the ground to better feel where the rumble comes from when Zoro looked to his left and to his surprise a Giant boar like Grimm ran through the flames causing Zoro to gawk not because of the Grimm but who is riding on it.
"Hahaha! Oh finally found you!" the rider made himself known showing Luffy laughing at a surprised "Zoro!".
