If you saw the TBATE tag, you know Bell is gonna suffer. Also, there will be tbate spoilers for pretty much books three to nine. I'm also gonna be rewriting the first 34 chapters as their grammar is bad. It will take a while since it's over a 100k words, but it will happen.
Zeus POV
Where the hell could that boy have run off to? It's getting late, and he's seven, for Christ's sake.
"Regis, you were supposed to be watching him," I spat to the dog.
"Hey, old man, not my fault he kicked me in the dick and ran off," the purple dog replied.
"Bullshit, you don't even have one."
"I do, too. I felt the pain," he complained.
"Look enough. Just go smell something of Bell's and help me find him. You're a dog, after all."
"Fine, But I'm a wolf."
"That's still a dog," I said, watching the mutt walk inside.
"Grandpa, I'm back, and I made some friends," I heard my grandson say, coming out of the forest.
I quickly spun around and saw my grandson with two cat people in ragged clothing coming out of the forest. Letting go of rational thought, I ran and embraced my grandson in a hug.
"Don't run off like that again, Bell. I was worried sick," I told the boy.
"But these people needed help," Bell innocently tilted his head.
I let go of him and looked at the cat people he had saved. One was a boy with black hair and black ears to match. He seemed to be a teenager judging by his height. Next to him was a girl with brown hair and brown ears who also seemed to be in her teens.
"Come, let's get inside and get you some better clothes while I talk with my grandson about what happened," I said, gesturing to the two of them, but I could tell they were hesitant.
"It's ok, my grandpa won't hurt you," Bell told them, taking their hands and walking into our cabin.
"Just what did that boy get up to," I thought as I followed behind them.
When they got into the house and saw Regis, it was safe to say they were surprised.
"There you are, you little shit, you know how much trouble you caused me," Regis barked before noticing our guests. "And who are your friends?"
"They're cats, your natural enemies, dog," Bell said with a shit-eating grin on his face.
"I'm not a dog; I'm a wolf."
"Same thing," Bell and I both said. With that conversation out of the way, Bell let go of the cat peoples hand, neither of which had said a word. Seeing this, I decided to speak up.
"Wait here, I'll go grab you some clothes," I told them.
"What did you do?" I heard Regis say as I opened the door to my room. I walked over to my dresser and opened it, taking out two shirts and pants.
"I'll have to make some female clothes, but Meteria's old clothes should fit her for the time being," I thought, then felt sad knowing Bell wouldn't know his mother. At least he knows of her. I wouldn't be cruel enough not to tell him of her.
I then walked back out and, handed the clothes to the teenagers and put them each in a separate room so they could change. Also, so I could finally interrogate my grandson.
"Alright, Bell explain what happened," I sternly asked him.
He looked at the ground before he spoke. "Well, Regis and I were playing in the woods. I wanted to go deeper in, but he said no. So I kicked him and ran off. I then started playing in the trees like a monkey 'cause I was swinging and then came across bandits with those two in a cage," he explained.
"They were slavers, Bell."
"What are slavers?"
"It's people who sell other people for money," Regis said. He was sitting off to the side.
"That's wrong," Bell said.
"It Is, but go back to explaining," I told him.
"Well, they looked mistreated, so I snuck into their camp and freed them."
"And how did you do that?"
"I used my magic and broke the lock. Which alerted the men, so I used flashbang to scare them, then ran with those two, and then we arrived here."
I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose before I spoke, "Alright, you won't be punished for this because you did a good thing, but don't do anything this reckless again." He went to speak, but I stopped him. "Look, you may be a light red core mage, which at your age is impressive, but that doesn't mean you should go out and do stuff like this. It's dangerous, Bell. You're only seven," I told him.
"I'm sorry, Grandpa," he mumbled.
I put my hand on his head and ruffled his hair. "It's ok, Bell, just don't run off like this again. You almost gave me a heart attack."
"So you're not mad at me," He asked, looking up at me with his big Ruby red eyes.
"No, Bell, I'm not. You saved two people from slavery, and you know now that you shouldn't have run off, so I'm not mad."
Our conversation stopped when we heard two doors open, and the teenagers came out.
"Well, those clothes fit you nicely. I'll sew you some new ones later, but those will have to do for now," I said.
The boy was wearing a blue button-up shirt with long sleeves, which he had rolled up, along with a pair of black pants. The girl wore a green short-sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans that were ripped because that was how Materia liked them.
"Come, let us have dinner. I bet you're quite hungry," I said, gesturing to the table, which only had three chairs.
"Why are you helping us," the boy asked, obviously still cautious about me.
"Because you need help, what other reason would there be?" I responded.
"Don't worry, Allen, my grandpa won't hurt you. He's nice. Regis, on the other hand, might be hostile 'cause he's a dog," Bell said, pointing at the mutt eating out of his bowl.
"I'm a wolf, you brat."
"Still a breed of dog."
"Why does your dog talk," the girl asked.
"Because he's a magical dog, Anya," Bell said, tilting his head like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Actually, I'm a weapon, but I look pretty damn good as a wolf."
"You're not a wolf. You're my dog."
"I'm not yours."
We then watched as a seven-year-old boy and a talking dog argued. Not something I'd ever expect to see, but hey, it's pretty funny.
"Well, come on, take a seat at the table. I'll start dinner," I say as I grab Bell by the collar and plop him down.
"Regis, Bell, behave."
The two stared at each other before a grin spread across Bell's face, and Regis nodded at him. Whatever the two agreed to couldn't be any good for me. I sighed and walked to the kitchen to start making dinner.
A few hours had passed since we ate dinner, and both Bell and Regis were now passed out in Bell's bed. I quietly shut the door and looked at the two teenagers in my living room. I walked in and took a seat across from them as they were sitting on the couch.
"So what do you two want to do now," I asked them.
"We would like to go to Oraio," Anya said, with Allen nodding his head.
"Well, if that is what you wish, I can arrange transport in the next couple of days. One of my sons is nearby, so he can take you with him when he heads back."
"Is he trustworthy?" Allen asked.
"He is. He won't sell you two into slavery if that's what you're worried about."
I saw Allen's shoulders relax a little before he yawned. "You must be tired. Go on and sleep in my room for the next couple of days. I'll take the couch."
"Are you sure you don't want to hurt your back, do you?" Anya innocently asked.
I laughed a little before answering her question. "You kids have been through a lot, so it's best you sleep in an actual bed," I told her. Seeing as I wasn't going to back down, the two agreed, went into my room, and shut the door.
"Damn, Bell, not even ten, and you're already being a hero. Your mother would be proud," I thought as I reached into my shirt and took a key out. I then walked over to a cabinet and unlocked it, pulling out a worn-out journal.
"Alright, Arthur, let me see more about beast wills."

A few days passed, with Bell making friends with Anya and Allen. Then Hermes showed up thanks to the letter I sent him via messenger pigeon. Alongside him was a new child of his name, Asfi.
"So Zeus, are these the kids?" he asked, looking over at Allen and Anya, saying goodbye to Bell.
"Thank you for saving us, Bell, thank you for saving us," Anya said as she practically lifted the boy up in a hug.
"Yeah, even though we were saved by a kid. Thanks. If not for you, who knows where we'd be," Allen said, looking off to the side but with a slight smile on his face.
"Will I ever see you again?" Bell asked, still in the air because of Anya.
"Well, you have a talent for illusions and trickery, so maybe we'll see you in Orario one day," Anya said, putting him down.
"Yeah, I'll come to Oraio, and then I'll become a hero!"
Anya giggled at his childish behavior before she and Allen left, with Hermes waving back at us until she was out of sight.
"You know I'm proud of you, Bell," I told him, putting my hand on his hair.
"Really, Grandpa?" He asked, looking up at me, his eyes sparkling.
"Yup, you did the right thing and saved those two, even at the risk of yourself. While I will say I wish you were more careful, I can't be mad at you 'cause you did the right thing," I told him, a smile on my face.
"Zeus," I heard a female voice behind us say.
Thinking quickly, I put Bell behind me and whistled for Regis, who immediately appeared in front of the boy. However, my worries were misplaced as when I turned around, I saw someone who was supposed to be dead.
"Alfia"
Bam, the first chapter is done. I hope you enjoyed. Gonna have this story start out with Bell's early life in the first couple of chapters, then timeskip to when he decides to head toward Oraio. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed leave a comment if you did later.
